While trying to get control of his emotions a final person approached him but unlike the others, they took the time to sit and listen. In the end, when Tim left he knew he had support and that changed a lot.

That he gets hurt in the process has never been an issue. Then the "different business partner" turns out to be the Red Hood, AKA, the reason Tim hasn't been allowed out as Robin for a month. That might be an issue.
