Chapter 59
Galadriel's morning routine was something that had become second nature to her. She assumed that everyone had their own set of habits that they followed upon waking up. Before coming to this world, Galadriel's routine consisted of taking a shower, or what she used to call a Chemical removal shower—then it was having breakfast, eating those horrible artificial egg yolks or protein shakes. There was not much to eat back in her old world, and even if Galadriel earned a good amount of money since she had such a high position in her work. Normally, she would buy just the basics to survive since she would spend it all in Yggdrasil. Still, occasionally, she'll purchase some "real" food. So, after eating her breakfast, Galadriel would spend some time in the mirror, mentally preparing herself for another day in that horrible company where she would have to endure the worst abuse. It was a familiar and comforting ritual that she carried out daily, keeping her sane in most cases.
However, here, Galadriel's routine, while technically the same, it had nothing of the downsides.
Galadriel opened her eyes and looked at the unusual roof. It was not her private room on Nazarick but the palace on E-Rantel. She wanted to get used to sleeping in this new place, where she would spend some nights occasionally from now on. Yet, while the bed was comfortable enough for her to enjoy sleeping in, Galadriel couldn't quite sleep without hugging Albedo. And it was more than just feeling the soft skin of her beloved succubus. Galadriel had to hug someone or something; she felt almost uncomfortable without having someone on her bed to serve as a sort of therapeutic pillow. Thankfully, Albedo's idea to keep her beloved lady comfortable while she was away was to make a body pillow with her on it.
Galadriel couldn't fault Albedo's artistic view of herself, not how good she was at this sort of stuff.
"But it's not the same," Galadriel muttered, watching the body pillow with Albedo's sexy body. Galadriel looked at the light slowly creeping in and decided to return to work. "Well, it's time to wake up in anycase."
Galadriel removed the covers and glanced at the door where a Homunculus maid stood, waiting to obey her orders.
Did she stand there all night...? That's quite creepy. Galadriel sighed before deciding not to think about that detail. "Fifth, please open the curtains. I want to feel the morning breeze and call the other maids. I wish to take a bath and eat breakfast."
"Yes!" Fifth, the Homunculus maid replied before almost tripping over by how fast she went and opened the curtains.
Galadriel shook her head, somehow amused by the maid's goofiness. She was adorable.
"My lady," the rest of the Homunculus maid entered the room quickly while they prepared the bath in the other room. They tried to avoid staring at Galadriel's naked body in all its glory but could not achieve it. Not that it mattered to Galadriel; she relinquished in the joys of a hot bath as her needs were being taken care of. Just like many times before. The maids would brush her hair and her long black wings. They would ensure her nails were perfectly trimmed and cleaned. Galadriel's body would be perfectly cared for, and the maids would do it with a smile. For them, doing this was a godsend, the highlight of their lives.
"Mm, what should I wear today?" Galadriel hummed, watching the lines of gowns, robes and many other things. "Fifth, any idea?" She asked gently while the Homunculus maids' eyes shined brightly.
"My lady! That's-"
"It's fine. Please, choose for me."
"Yes! I shall not disappoint you, my lady!" Fifth exclaimed, filled with joy as she chose Galadriel's gown for the day.
The Demon Empress gazed at her reflection in the mirror and placed her hand on her belly, feeling a sense of uncertainty. She couldn't help but wonder when her belly would start to grow and show signs of pregnancy. As Galadriel examined herself closely, she realised that there was no noticeable difference yet. Galadriel's expectations seemed a bit unrealistic, given that she wasn't even sure how a pregnancy would work for her. Despite the uncertainty, she remained hopeful that the impending changes would be worth the wait.
Morning sickness felt quite normal for me because it was something to be expected in pregnancy. Still, I am afraid of losing it. Could it even happen?
"Please call, Pestonya. I wish to have my check-up," Galadriel called, not wanting to leave it to luck. Maybe she was being paranoid. But, it was the life of her children at stake. Galadriel would be as paranoid as necessary to procure her baby's health.
Galadriel sat quietly as Pestonya's spell worked on her. The wolf-maid hummed deeply, and Galadriel couldn't help but feel anxiety at seeing Pestonya's hand over her belly.
"Everything is normal, my lady, woof."
"Are you sure...?" Galadriel asked nervously.
"Of course, my lady. Feeling anxious is normal, especially during the first weeks of pregnancy. But all is going smoothly. The baby and yourself are healthy and strong. As long you keep eating and reduce your workload. It should be fine... ah, woof."
Galadriel sighed deeply. "Thank you. Pestonya."
Galadriel's thoughts now went on the idea of preparing for the upcoming months, where maybe her pregnancy would be at a crucial point in which Galadriel would have to put her role as a Supreme Being and leader of Nazarick on the side. Also, she realised that when that comes to be. Galadriel would have to stop showing herself to the public. Announcing that she was pregnant could be a horrible mistake on her part. Her enemies could use that opportunity to attack them.
Pandora's Actor would have to take my form for a while.
Galadriel pondered then if that would cause them to stop the fight against the rest of the Dragon Lords. It would if Pandora's Actor couldn't be out there. Also, some of the plots would need to be stopped for now.
"Motherhood shouldn't be that hard, right?"
Galadriel hummed while proceeding to eat her breakfast. She had a long day ahead of her. Working on something else could keep her mind out of the worries of motherhood.
Maybe.
Galadriel took her time to inspect the capital of her upcoming empire, E-Rantel and could see how much change the city underwent in such little time. Some town blocks were being demolished, while others were being reworked. The walls were being expanded since Galadriel was adamant about creating a large healthy environment inside the city—a place she wanted to call Central Park, where the market and many other stores would be stationed.
Galadriel also knew that since E-Rantel was stationed in the middle of the continent, it had to become the home of a centralised power, where she could oversee all of the nations under her control. It would be challenging to achieve it. Nevertheless, Galadriel sensed that it wouldn't take her that long.
Yet, there were some problems Galadriel was facing now. One of them was that the city's population was fairly low, and while new inhabitants were slowly arriving. It was a far cry from how it used to be. The people that were still living there were utterly terrified of her. Galadriel could use fear to increase her persona and her image. Still, it was also adoration and respect that would establish stability in her empire. Galadriel wanted to make sure her rule was just and fair. Fear, while useful in some instances. It also proved to be a chore.
I need people to love me, to see me better than other rulers. They need to see me as truly a change to this world.
Galadriel hummed as she walked around the half-empties streets of the city. The only inhabitants were a few races here and there and a few of the most brave families just arriving at the city, utterly desperate to start a new life.
"Mm, from what Demiurges has told me, the inhabitants arriving are people who escaped slavery and refugees with no other place to go. Not good enough."
As Galadriel strolled through the streets, she couldn't help but notice the various reactions of those she passed. She observed individuals cowering within their homes, seeking refuge from the presence that was Galadriel Melkor. Meanwhile, devout worshippers knelt before her name in prayer, seeking solace and protection from the unknown. Even non-human onlookers gazed upon her with a mix of fascination and uncertainty, curious about her presence and the power she wielded. Despite the mixed reactions, Galadriel remained calm and composed.
Then, Galadriel saw a small food stance. Mm, a food stance. Yeah, I told Albedo about the possibilities of this. Yet, we need more civilians in the city. Otherwise, these vendors would need help to make a living.
Galadriel approached the vendor and noticed it was a cute rabbit girl who was quite busy preparing her stance to see her.
"Excuse me," Galadriel called, noticing how the rabbit girl was turned around and not facing her.
"Oh! A client! Welcome to-Eiiii!"
The rabbit girl squealed loudly, dropping some of the ingredients on the floor. "Y-Your Majesty!" The rabbit girl quickly knelt, not before slamming her head on the table before going down and hissing in pain, almost knocking herself out during the process of showing her respect to the Ancient One.
That must have hurt. Galadriel coughed awkwardly. "Sorry for disturbing you. I just wanted to ask how is your business going?"
The rabbit girl looked nervously. The intimidating glare of those guards just behind the Ancient One simply made her feel so small. Still, she knew that not answering the Ancient One could be considered an insult.
"Uh... ah..."
"Please, don't worry. I intend of now hurting you or shame you. I just wish to know how things are going in my empire," Galadriel spoke softly, trying to calm the rabbit's girl tension. It was clear that her presence was still quite shocking for many.
"It's going smoothly, although..."
"Mm?" Galadriel raised an eyebrow as the rabbit girl seemed troubled.
"It would be easy to sell if there were more people..."
"I see," Galadriel sighed deeply, knowing she had to create a plan to allow more people to live under her rule. She had to make something attractive, an invitation to everyone seeking a better life. But what could she do exactly?
"Could I ask you something?" Galadriel asked now, and the rabbit girl tilted her head at the Ancient One. "In your opinion, what would be a good idea to bring more people into the city?"
"I don't know if I had the knowledge for that, Your Majesty," the rabbit girl muttered anxiously.
"Go on, just speak your mind."
The rabbit girl nodded, feeling uncertain and believing her opinion would hold little value to someone of high divinity. Still expressing her thoughts and opinions wouldn't be such a terrible thing, especially since the Ancient One had specifically requested her to do so. The mere presence of a divine being, who was willing to lend an ear to her concerns, was a welcome and reassuring experience for her. It gave her a sense of comfort and validation that her thoughts and feelings were being heard and acknowledged by someone of great importance and wisdom.
Still, referring to Galadriel as a wise being would be a compliment that would easily cause her to feel bashful.
Nevertheless, the rabbit girl took a deep breath and spoke firmly. "While it's true that there aren't many people around the city besides the golems and the people called Asgardians. We, the demi-human races, are fitting right in here!" The rabbit started smiling brightly. "Most of us were slaves and nomads. But now we are slowly finding a place we can call home."
Galadriel took the rabbits' girl words at heart. She has seen the papers and seen the numbers. The exodus of humans in this city left a vacant hole filled by the other races. She believed that in a few years, perhaps less, they would become the majority in the city.
"I am glad to hear that," Galadriel replied, smiling softly at the rabbit girl who only stared at her stunned as she was witnessing a coming from the Ancient One.
So beautiful! It's like a blessing! The rabbit girl exclaimed before nervously trying not to look like a nervous clown in from of the Ancient One.
"However, is it something else that you wish to add? I doubt everything is going as smoothly as you state."
The rabbit girl sighed. "Well, we still are facing some prejudice, especially from humans that were living here before we arrived."
"Prejudice, you say?"
"It's not that bad!" The rabbit girl replied quickly. "It mostly just stares and not interacting with the demi-humans..., but since the city population is still fairly small, it divides the city, making some parts almost empty-looking. I think that as long as humans and other races don't see eye to eye, it's going to be like this."
Galadriel found the inclusion of different races to be an experimental movement that she was still trying to understand. As a dominant race on the continent, humans tended to hold the most influence and often looked down on other races. She wanted to change this perception and create a more inclusive and accepting society. However, she knew that achieving this goal would require significant time and effort. Perhaps, the reason why not many humans come to the city, it's exactly for that reason. They were not that used to share the same space with other races.
"I see. Do all humans mistreat you?" Galadriel asked the rabbit girl.
"No... just ignore us. Some humans are more open, but others do seem to be disgusted by us... but compared to what I... we used to suffer. This is heaven!"
For Galadriel to hear those words were as sad as happy. It was proof that while not perfect, at the very least, her utopia's plans were heading to a good place. Now that I think about it. I must make sure to make laws to secure the rights of all individuals. Should I create a sort of senate or parliament? Uhm, that would put some work out of me. But also some work... I should bring this to Demiurge and Albedo.
"Thank you for telling me this. I do hope that all this prejudice will disappear in the years to come."
Galadriel gave a slight bow, smiling and thanking the rabbit girl for giving her an insight into some situations. The rabbit girl was utterly speechless at the fact a divine being, a God for the lack of a better word, was thanking her in such a humble way.
"Y-Your Majesty! You don't have to-!"
"I must respectfully disagree with your statement. As your monarch and Empress, I must ensure that every individual within my realm is treated with the highest level of respect and dignity. The fundamental rights of each and every person must be protected at all times. Within my empire, equality is paramount, and every individual will be given the same opportunities and privileges as their peers."
The words made the rabbit girl's body tremble. Could she be treated with dignity and respect? Would she have rights like a human?
"Truly...?" The rabbit girl muttered, almost choking and with tears in her eyes.
"Of course, and that would law soon," Galadriel smiled at the young rabbit girl. I must do a constitution. Mm, I need to learn more about how to write laws. But, well, how hard could it be?
"Once again, thank you for this little talk. I shall take my leave now, for I don't wish to push away potential clients."
As Galadriel was about to take her leave, the rabbit girl soon looked around in panic. "Wait! Your Majesty!"
Galadriel turned around and saw the rabbit girl preparing Takoyaki.
"Please, take this!"
Galadriel stared amused at the well-prepared food, and saw that for the rabbit girl, this was more than just giving her food. It was a show of devotion. Besides, she was having cravings, so Takoyaki was perfect.
"I thank you."
The Takoyaki was delicious, but what felt better was the feeling of learning more than just what Albedo or Demiurge told her. These interactions with her new nation's citizens gave her a clearer picture of what she was dealing with, giving her inspiration and ideas for the future.
A young nation needs purpose, ideals and pride. I must work hard to achieve those things and make my new citizens proud to be here. Galadriel thought deeply before thinking about a certain new topic that had been lingering on her mind.
I still have to think of a new for my nation... for my empire. Galadriel grumbled internally as she ate her Takoyaki.
"How should I name it?"
Galadriel thought before continuing with her walk.
The resounding noise of the procession led by the Supreme One's emissary as they advanced towards the heart of the Re-Estize Kingdom was nothing short of a terrifying sight to behold. The amalgamation of all the atrocities that existed in one place made it all the more effortless for the citizens of the Re-Estize capital to flee from such a menacing display. But to where would they run? What kind of monster was inside that carriage? What creature could possibly be on its way to meet their king? The people of the Re-Estize Kingdom didn't know, but perhaps, the being approaching their city was someone from that place.
Upon closer inspection, it was not a fearsome monster that was making its way towards the capital, but rather a stunningly beautiful woman who exuded an air of divine grace and elegance. However, it was also evident that she possessed a dark side, as she was imbued with a potent blend of power, lust, and unbridled arrogance akin to that of a demon.
But then again, Albedo was a demon, so their assumptions may be correct that a monstrosity was heading towards them.
"What would I do to be with you, my love," Albedo sighed deeply as she was thinking about her beloved one. The idea of her using a carriage in order to travel to the human kingdom made her feel disgusted. Still, Albedo understood clearly, the reasoning of why they were bothering to do such a thing.
"A fish for bait; where are we going to find such a person?" Albedo muttered, watching the city filled with disgusted humans. She knew that somewhere, out there, a human with the intellectual capacity of a vermin was waiting for them. A person who would prove to be useful for their little objective. But that was for later.
Albedo had to draw a line and ensure that those who would be worthy of her lady's mercy had to be useful for the nation her lover wanted to create, and Albedo would not take trash. Although, that would take a lot of work to achieve. The Re-Estize Kingdom's nobility was trash and unscrupulous to even consider proper candidates.
"But there must be a few less disgusting bugs among cockroaches. Still... why humans?" Albedo hummed as the carriage stopped before the kingdom's Royal palace. Albedo glanced out of the windows and saw the king with a few royal family members. However, she gave a good glance at the princess.
"Is that her...? Mmhm, I see."
Albedo meticulously crafted her expression to convey the utmost warmth and cordiality as she braced herself for the inevitable encounter with the loathsome humans. Despite the revulsion that stirred within her, the thought of fulfilling her beloved lady's expectations gave her the strength to endure the impending ordeal. Thus, with measured steps and a composed demeanour, Albedo emerged from the carriage and made her presence known.
"Welcome, envoy of the Ancient One, lady Albedo!"
Albedo held Ginnugagap closely and kept an eye sharp on any potential threat lurking about. Still, no one detected anything, so she approached the king and his family.
"Lady Albedo, welcome to Re-Estize. I do hope that the travel wasn't troublesome," the old King Ramposa III spoke with weariness in his voice yet a firm determination to look strong.
"It has been most pleasant, King Ramposa," Albedo replied brightly with a smile. Yet, her tone of voice, while soft, was sharp. "I came here in the name of the Supreme One, Galadriel Melkor, in order to confirm the regions given to her after the battle of Katze Plains."
Ramposa III gulped deeply, still feeling the impacts of such a debacle. He glanced at his side and saw Gazeff, who seemed to think the same. The kingdom was at the breaking point. Their farms had no workers since most had died in that field. The ones who survived such a massacre were unable to even work. The traumas they endured left them broken not of body but mind.
If they could achieve peace, for the time being, Ramposa would take it.
"We make sure to abide by the treaty, but please. Let me welcome you as needed. There is going to be a welcome party in your name. Where hopefully, the worries of the kingdom would be pacified."
Albedo's inner thoughts were filled with amusement at the knight's request for their worries to be alleviated. Despite feeling the urge to scoff internally and break down in laughter, Albedo managed to maintain a composed exterior. She couldn't help but feel a sense of smug satisfaction, knowing that the Re-Estize Kingdom's days were numbered. However, Albedo refrained from expressing her inner thoughts and instead responded with a polite smile and nod towards the knight.
"Of course, King Ramposa. We only hope for a better upcoming in this talks."
Albedo looked at Renner and smiled politely. Of course, there was more to their smile that met the eyes. But no one needed to know.
As the sun began to set, the highly anticipated welcoming party for the envoy of the Ancient One commenced. It was a grand affair, attended by all the lords of the Re-Estize Kingdom, from the most influential to the lesser-known. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as everyone eagerly awaited the arrival of the distinguished guest.
But one must remember that the reason for such anticipation was that the lords were looking for their own gain. Not the kingdom's survivability or peace. They hoped to get into the envoy's graces and take advantage of the current state of the kingdom, which was something that Albedo expected. However, what the succubus demon did not expect was that there, in the party, looking with disdain at the other lords, a certain gentleman stood still with a cup of wine in his hand.
A man of focus and sheer will.
"Such a pathetic group of nobles," Philip muttered in revulsion while also believing himself to be just above them in every aspect possible. Because, of course, he was, or at least, his deluded mind thought so.
Still, Philip, the great manipulator he was, had more of a goal than all of those nobles.
Ever since the Ancient One appeared in the world and showcased the absolute power of her being. Philip began to scheme how to use this to take advantage of everyone. Philip felt that if he could just get in touch with the envoy of the Ancient One, he could show that person that he could be useful. Then, slowly but surely, Philip would get in touch with that God and climb the ranks of the social ladder that would emerge.
A perfect plan, no doubt. Perhaps, maybe, I could establish a direct relationship with that being?! And when I do... all of my dreams will be realised!
Philip couldn't help but giggle at his own brilliant mind. "I just need patient."
With a contented expression on his face, Philip savoured the taste of his wine, feeling a sense of awe at his innovative tactics for gaining influence and showcasing his talents.
"My father will regret his decisions by not making me the heir of the family," Philip muttered before noticing the announcer.
"Everyone," the announcer spoke. "I would like to introduce the diplomatic envoy of the Ancient One, Lady Albedo."
Philip was caught off guard by the extraordinary beauty that lay before him. The woman stood with such grace and elegance that it left him speechless. Her striking features exuded a timeless beauty that captivated all those who laid eyes upon her. She was a perfect being, with an aura of radiance that seemed to emanate from within her. Philip was in love.
I can't believe it! Such beauty, and she's the envoy! This is such a golden opportunity! I've come up with such a great idea now! One that would put me on top of everyone here!
Philip thought with excitement. However, he also realised that he wasn't the only one trying to access such a refined woman. Philip needed to be the first.
Albedo, who was presenting herself to some nobles with clear disdain hidden in a smile, then looked at her side when she saw a man bowing deeply to her.
"Lady Albedo," Philip spoke with an elegant tone of voice. Or so he thought.
Albedo had to admit it. This humans gall to approach her before anyone else, and to speak with her in such a tone of voice, was to be praised. But who was this worthless scum? Albedo could only wonder.
"I am the heir of the Montserrat Barony, Philip Dayton L'Eyre Montserrat," he exclaimed loudly so that everyone could hear his name. They better remember this moment because it will go down in history as the tipping point of Philip the Great.
Albedo only smiled. "A pleasure to meet you," yet while her angelic smile was a sight to behold. She cringed deeply as the man kissed her knuckles. Albedo almost gagged.
"My lady, destiny has allowed us to meet today," Philip proclaimed in a whisper.
"Destiny?" Albedo asked, now needing clarification about whatever the human was referring to; perhaps she did not want to know what Philip was thinking because if she had such power. Then the poor human would've died right then and there.
Philip's stares couldn't look away from Albedo's majestic breast, and he wondered if such a delicacy woman has already a man to warm her bed. If he only knew.
"Yes, my dear lady. I can prove who I am if your elegance gives me a chance.
Philip bowed, smirking widely, while Albedo only raised an eyebrow.
He may prove to be useful for us...
Albedo wondered deeply about this human. They needed a human that could serve their mission, their goal for an excuse. So, maybe this human could be that idiot. Still, Albedo didn't know just what type of idiot Philip was, and perhaps, that would be an error on her part. None were ready for Philip the Great.
