Counterpart Conferences: Daughters of the Morningstars
Earth-91316
Hell Dimension
Charlie Morningstar was the first Hell-born, a child born in the infernal dimension, and despite having never stepped foot on the Earth, she knew of its beauty- a mundane place stripped of celestial magic, yet a world full of wonders, thanks to the ingenuity of human minds and the kindness of their souls.
Humans are unpredictable, constantly changing, constantly evolving… Why should that stop after they had shuffled off their mortal coil?
Why does Hell need to be a cursed abyss, instead of a cocoon for these unfortunate souls to be better than what they were, and ultimately ascend to Heaven, find ultimate peace?
She believed in them, just like how her father believed in humanity when he sacrificed everything to ensure humanity had free will.
Her father may have lost hope, but she had not… She never will.
"This place FUCKING rules!" A familiar yet unfamiliar scathing voice drew her attention. She turned to see a woman burst through the doors of her hotel with a shit-eating grin etched across her face and a manic gleam in her eyes.
Vaggie was quick to leap in front of her, her wings unfurling as she drew her spear at the newcomer.
The woman shrugged. She looked like an ordinary human- a Caucasian with dark hair reaching up to her shoulders, wearing a crimson leather jacket over a black t-shirt as well as a pair of ripped jeans.
Charlie could sense that this person was not demonic… she was alive in a way, very human, just like one of the staff in her hotel, and yet she bore cosmic energies.
Her eyes widened at the implications…
She was a hybrid like her!
"Cool trick… I can do that too!" She smirked, as a pair of angelic wings burst from her shoulders, and a shocked gasp came from the occupants of the hall, and even Alastor and her dad seemed curious.
"Just who are you?" Vaggie growled.
"I thought this was a hotel?" The angel-human hybrid drawled, as her wings folded back. "Is that how you greet your guests?"
Charlie shook her head and placed her hand on the spear.
"Charlie…" Vaggie growled.
"She is right." The princess of Hell said softly before beaming at the woman. "Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel!"
Charlie took a deep breath, about to properly give her guest a warm welcome in the Hotel, as she always did, with a-
"Yeah no, sorry to put a pin in it, but I am allergic to music … well, any music other than punk rock… and I am pretty sure my ears will bleed if I listen to whatever Disney princess shit you are about to sing." She said nonchalantly, walking past them to the bar, sat beside Angel, and looked expectantly at Husk, who grumbled before pouring drink on an empty glass and offering it to her.
Charlie looked like a lost puppy.
Vaggie and Lucifer's eyes twitched dangerously.
She turned back and laughed heartily at the scene. "Oh, you are a Disney Princess… in Hell… The multiverse is a funny place, isn't it?"
She looked at Vaggie and Lucifer, who had started glowing in a white aura, tendrils of fire manifesting around him.
"No need to get so angsty. Look, no offence, I am sure she rocks, but her style is so not for me."
Alastor stood in the side, his cheshire grin wide and his eyes calculating as ever.
Angel looked on curiously, carefully holding back Nifty, who waggled her sharp pointy knife at the woman, struggling to get out of his grasp.
"Ooh, aren't you a cute little demon?" The woman cooed at her, while taking a sip of the drink.
"Careful. She stabbed the last angel she met." Angel warned her.
"It's time you tell us who you are." Vaggie demanded, cutting off any remark she was about to make.
"Take a breather. You remind me of auntie Maze." She groaned before looking at them. "Ugh, fine then!"
"Maze? Mazikeen?" Lucifer squinted at her.
"Relax, dad." She made a popping sound.
"Wait, dad?" Charlie asked, turning at the devil, who looked equally perplexed.
"Yeah, something you want to tell us, daddy dearest?" Alastor asked snidely.
"I don't know her." He spluttered. "I think I would know if she was mine?"
"Unless you abandoned her, much like you did Charlie…" The radio demon pressed.
"Back off, Alastor. He was there when she needed her the most." Vaggie snapped. "Unlike you, who ran away like a coward, licking his wounds."
Alastor glared at her, green sparks coming out of him, yet he did not press the issue, and Lucifer gave Vaggie a grateful smile.
"Relax, he is my dad, but not my dad." The angel explained. "My name is Aurora Morningstar. I go by Rory, and I am the daughter of Lucifer Morningstar, just not this one…"
"I should have known…" Lucifer mused. "You did give a familiar energy…"
"What does she mean, dad?" Charlie asked.
"She is the daughter of my counterpart from a different universe." He said glibly.
"Okay?" Charlie said, turning towards Rory. "You are my doppelganger?"
"Does it look like I am?" Rory rolled her eyes. "I could be a variant, but even that is stretching it. My dad may be a Lucifer but my mom is not Lilith, from what I gather of this universe."
"Okay… so what are you doing here?" Lucifer asked.
"I don't know." She made a glib face. "I was with my folks in the Hell of my dimension, before some portal opened and I ended up here a few days ago… and I must tell you, this looks like an actual Hell. The one I come from is not that different from Heaven…"
"Really?" Charlie piped.
"Do not get me started, sister. My parents act like shrinks for those demented freaks, trying to reform them… Healing hell… It is cool and all, but after a while, it gets so BORING."
"See!" Charlie shook Vaggie's arm excitedly. "See it is possible! Sir Pentious' ascension was not a one-off thing. This proves it!"
"Ugh… You are just like my dad. Trying to see all the good in everyone…" Rory gulped the contents of her glass in one go, before beckoning Husk for another. "Their mojo seemed cool and all, but there is so much bullshit one can take before shit hits the fan."
"So, you don't want to reform Hell?" Charlie asked.
"I just don't care what happens to Hell, sister. I just want a good life, and when my folks act therapist to damned souls and expect me to do the same… well, let's just say, your life becomes very bland."
Vaggie shook her head, muttering to herself. "Multiverse madness… Where's Pighead when you need her."
"Yeah, where is she?" Charlie asked, before beaming at Rory. "She can help get you home, and maybe I can tag along for a visit!"
"She said something about meeting a friend from work or something…" Husk grumbled.
"Great!" Vaggie huffed. "Guess we are stuck with emo Morningstar till then."
"Oh, cheer up Vaggie, this is great, and she is my sister, sort of?" Charlie said, before running to hug Rory, who awkwardly patted her back. "Tell me everything about your home."
"Vaggie?" Rory snorted, looking at her. "That's your name? Vaggie, as in..."
"Your Hell is so cooler than mine, Charls. Whatever, I dig your name, Vaggs!" She laughed, making wiggly eyebrows.
Vaggie's eyes twitched again.
Lucifer sighed, interfering before a fight broke out between the two angels. "Maybe I can help… Your energy seems familiar, and I may have met your dad or mom in the last orgy…"
Charlie and Rory made disgusting faces while Angel smiled appreciatively.
"I did not need to know that." Charlie whined, covering her face with her hands.
"Yeah, you probably did not meet my dad. He is pretty much a one-woman man since he met her. Their love is gross but you know what is ickier… Knowing that he used to fuck around with different versions of himself…"
"Oh, get over it…" Angel said dreamily. "That sounds amazing… A thousand Lucifers just…"
Husk clamped his hand over the spider demon's mouth.
"Just ignore him…"
He quickly removed his hand, glaring at Angel, who had licked him. The spider demon winked at him.
"Anyway…" Lucifer started, looking Rory. "Which universe are you from? Earth One or is it Earth 666?"
"I do not know, sorry. Never got into that naming universes shit." Rory shrugged.
"That makes things a tad more difficult." Lucifer sighed.
"We should wait for Pighead." Charlie decided. "And you can stay in the Hotel with us till she returns."
"Lucky me…" Rory smiled, clenching her teeth as the other daughter of Lucifer hugged her.
Just then, a portal appeared on the ground, and sucked in Rory, the chair she was sitting on, and Charlie as well.
"NO!" Vaggie screamed, running towards it, only for the portal to close instantaneously.
"Do something!" She turned to Lucifer, who looked shellshocked.
"I can't track her." He said anxiously. "The portal doesn't even have any residual energies that I can follow."
"Pighead, where the hell are you?" Vaggie growled, hoping their omniscient colleague would come to their aid.
Earth-2
She did not think she could have this again, after everything that transpired. She had given up her life to save the world… all worlds from the Eldritch Terrors, found peace only for a new threat to threaten her home and the people she loved, forcing her beloved to cast a dark spell, trading his life for hers… And though she shared an eternity together in the Sweet Hereafter before she was dragged back to the Realm of the Living, every moment she spent without him weighed heavily on her soul… Till he came back, a loophole no one had expected… a phenomenon no one had believed existed outside of legends and stories.
His beloved had returned not as a human, but as something more… a guardian angel, devoted to protecting her and her two sisters, bound by witchcraft though not by blood.
The Charmed Ones, he called them. A triad of witches chosen by destiny, meant to change the fate of the world. Though legends foretold that the Charmed Ones were always sisters by blood, times have changed.
Prudence and Rosalind have been with her through it all… At one time, Prudence was an enemy, now even destiny claimed them as sisters….
And her beloved had come back to her… as their Whitelighter, a literal angel…
To think, once he was a vassal of Lucifer himself…
Sabrina Spellman shook thoughts of her estranged father out of her mind, smiling as she leaned into Nick's warm embrace. She smiled, while Nick left a trail of kisses down her neck, as they laid next to each other underneath the moonlight and the lush canopy of the sacred trees of Greendale Woods.
Suddenly, she felt it… a shift in the air.
Nick felt it too, and he moved away from her. They stood up, their eyes wary.
Sabrina snapped her fingers, and they were instantly fully clothed.
Nick lifted his hand, and an orb of intense white light fluttered out of his arm and hovered over them, illuminating their surroundings.
Then, a portal appeared before them. First, a chair dropped out of it, breaking as it slammed into the ground, and then, two girls fell on the grass as the portal closed.
"Who the hell are you?" Sabrina demanded.
"Ugh…" One girl said, rubbing her head, looking up at her. She was dressed like one of the emo kids from Greendale high, black lipsticks, short hair, leather jacket and ripped jeans.
"Where are we?" The other girl asked, looking up and beaming excitedly. She was in a red business suit, her blond hair in an elaborate braid, looking prim and proper. "Wait, are we on Earth? I have never been to Earth before! It is so cool!"
She glanced at Sabrina and Nick. "Are you guys humans? Real living humans! I have never met one before, well outside of Pighead, and she is well, not human, not in the typical sense… She is literally from a different plane of reality…"
Nick and Sabrina stared at each other, baffled by the girl who would not stop rambling.
"Calm down, princess." The other girl snapped, looking around. "Well, we appear to be on Earth… a Earth by any chance."
"Who are you?" Sabrina repeated.
The girl smirked, looking at her.
"You are one of us."
The other girl paused.
"She is?"
"I can sense it." Came the confirmation.
"What are you talking about?" Nick asked.
"Oh goody, another angel paramour. You two will get around sniffingly then." She continued.
"Maybe she can help us get back to the Hotel… and you to where you came from?" The one in the red suit said, before turning to them. "Hi, sorry… My name is Charlie Morningstar. She is Rory Morningstar. No relation though. We are not even from the same universe, but we do share the same father… sort of. Are you a Morningstar too?"
Sabrina stiffened.
"By blood." She spat. "My name is Sabrina Spellman."
"Oh, your universe must be one of those…" Rory smiled.
"Like what?" Charlie asked.
"One where our father is actually a bad guy instead of a poor misunderstood soul." Rory drawled.
Sabrina blinked, and Nick chuckled at hearing the very bizarre description of the Dark Lord, then stopped seeing their non-plussed faces. "Wait, you guys are not lying, are you?"
"No. They are not." Sabrina sighed. "I can sense it now. They have a familiar magic like me… familiar but different."
"How… You may have angel blood, but you are not one yourself… Neither are you a demon…" Rory mused. "You are a witch, aren't you?"
"I am." She nodded her head.
"A demon, an angel and a witch… all three, daughters of Morningstars…" Rory mused, a smile on her face. "Things just got interesting."
Hoped you guys liked this one-shot, which was primarily set in the "Hazbin Hotel" universe and a part of the Infinity Crisis series.
The title is of course named after Michael Weyer's ongoing series, and while this story was originally planned to be very different, it evolved into this, and the name seemed fitting.
Rory is from the NBC/Netflix show "Lucifer" and appeared in the final season. She is from a future time, and could be the child of Earth 1 Lucifer or another variant, with a similar story.
Earth 666 is a reference to the universe designation the show got in the Arrowverse COIE event.
I had not planned on including Sabrina, but felt right, seeing she is a daughter of Lucifer too. She is from the "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" Netflix show, and from Earth 2, confirming that the show, Riverdale (up to the penultimate season, after which the characters got transported to a different timeline, after the town got destroyed by a comet. I loved the final season and the finale, so I do not want to mess with that ending. The town's fate in IC!verse Earth-2 will be revealed in a future story, which will not discredit the canon, but add to it), andall the "Pretty Little Liars" shows and spinoffs, since the latest show "Original Sin" established it was in the same universe.
I wanted a way to bring Nick back without nulling the price he paid to revive Sabrina, and making him a Whitelighter seemed like the perfect choice. Then, thought Sabrina, Rosalind and Prudence could be the Earth-2 versions of the Charmed Ones, even though it is mostly a ceremonial title here. They do not get any added powers or such.
All I know of Charmed Ones are from fanfictions, and never saw the shows, though I plan to do so at a future date, so this was a glorified easter egg of sorts.
The original plan was to have Pighead in a greater role, even talked to the actual Pighead about it, but needed Charlie and Rory's disappearance to be a problem without her offering a quick fix, but she will be in one of the other one-shots I have planned in the "Hazbin Hotel" universe.
