C.6 - Classroom Brawls
"Hey Jay! Wait up!" He heard Syrus yell out from behind him. He instantly turned to look behind him at the boy running to catch up to him. "I thought you said you were just going to sleep in this morning."
"I was just being- ugh! It doesn't matter." Syrus sighed.
He looked at his friend contemplatively for a moment. Then tentatively he placed his hand on his friend's shoulder once he was close enough. "Hey, you're still feeling bad after yesterday. Aren't you?"
"Yes!" Syrus replied like it was obvious. "Honestly, I can't believe I let myself be tricked by that. Not to mention the fact that it wasn't even to trick me into going in the first place.."
"Yeah… I get ya. That can't have felt good." He admitted. "But hey, you can't let that bad prank stick with you. That's probably what whoever did this wants you to do, you're a great guy and i'm sure people would like you. I mean, you're my friend. That's gotta mean something right."
"Hm? Maybe." Syrus mentioned offhandedly as he continued to look at his feet.
Jaden frowned for a moment. "Hey! How about after class we do something to help you feel better. Anything on the island you haven't tried yet."
"I don't know." Syrus responded.
"I hear there are hot springs at the market building." He pointed out. It was easy to forget it exists. Between the four dorms, the main school building and the port, there was actually another building at the very edge of the island which contained what was basically a supermarket. If you needed something you could spend DP there to buy it.
From basic essentials and materials. There were also luxury shops. Like the aforementioned Hot Spring.
"I'll think about it." Syrus sighed.
He wanted to continue encouraging his friend, but he didn't want to push too hard either. He'd come and try helping his mood again later, for now it felt like this was as much as he was able to do.
They continued down the pathway towards the main building when he noticed someone on the side of the road to the main school building, sitting at a picnic table.
He waved his hand and shouted at them. "Hey! Carey, you're here! Good Morning."
The 2nd year Obelisk Blue then immediately toppled over in her seat, banging her face against the table.
"Um…" Syrus responded. "That doesn't seem like a normal response."
"Yeah…" he then walked off the path towards her. Once he and Syrus had gotten close to her his little buddy spoke up.
"Hey, are you doing alright."
"Couldn't sleep…" Carey mumbled into the table.
"What?"
What had happened to make her like this?
The agent turned their head sideways while still letting it rest on the tabletop. Revealing deep bags under her eyes. "An alarm went off close to midnight. Apparently a boy was spotted by an Obelisk Girl as she was exiting the hot spring bathhouse near our dorms." Carey explained before breaking off into a drawn out yawn.
"Ah! That's horri- wait, did you just say the Obelisk Girl's Dorm has a private hot spring?"
Carey snapped her fingers and did a finger gun pointing towards his friend. "The power of privilege, I also think the boys' dorm has a hot spring bathhouse too. Or something like that." She mentioned.
"Oh man, looks like someone is gonna get expelled." Jaden chuckled.
"Probably…" The agent replied weakly. "According to our Dorm Head though… she…" Carey then yawned into the palm of her hand. "They never even found out who the person was, let alone even managed to catch them. So whoever they were, they were quite a very slippery student. Managing to escape after hours and hours of being chased."
"That happened?" Jaden inquired.
"Reported…ly." A yawn interrupted Carey mid-sentence. She then popped her lips a couple times before turning their head around again so she was face down on the table. "And i… couldn't sleep last night."
"Hm? I guess I could understand." Jaden admitted. "If I thought there could be someone hiding around, it'd be pretty hard I imagine."
"It is…" Carey replied absentmindedly. "Sometimes I just wish I could be left alone."
"People can get a bit much at times." Syrus admitted before bringing up his arm and looking at the watch on his wrist. "Ah! We don't have much time left Jaden!"
"Oh! We can't be late for class! Chrowler is going to have my head!" He could easily imagine his teacher giving him detention for running into class after it had already started, again. He did not want a repeat experience.
"Uggghhhh… That means I have to pretend I still have some soul left and go to class too." Carey groaned to the table. "There is way too much to do today… Can i even do everything i want today" She seemed to ask herself tiredly before squeezing her eyes shut and letting out a frustrated groan.
"Yeah- good luck with that." He waved goodbye before booking it with Syrus to their classroom.
Both he and Syrus managed to make it to their seats in the amphitheatre-like classroom, though he guessed it was more like an auditorium, sometimes it was hard to believe that a nice looking place like this was where they usually have their lessons. Though surprisingly enough class hadn't started yet nor was there even a teacher here.
They hadn't made it here before the bell went off… what was holding their teacher up?
Sitting in the seat that bordered the walkway, he looked across it and found Bastion sitting on the other side of the walkway in the Ra Yellow Section of the auditorium. Despite there being no teacher, the very studious student was writing notes rapid fire into his PDA.
"Hey, Bastion? What's holding the teacher up?"
"Hm?" The black haired boy looked up from his electronic. "Ah, I have no clue myself as to why Professor Chrowler would be late. By the way, I saw your Duel Record this morning. Your victory yesterday was quite something, let me tell you."
"Huh?" Jaden perked up. "You have?"
"Yes, I was overlooking your stats, found that duel and reviewed the byplay."
"The PDA can do that?" Jaden asked, honestly surprised.
"Of course, it is synced up with the Duel Disk after all. though it only records ranked duels. Your duel with Alexis was an interesting watch. I took plenty of notes on it. It's brought me ever closer to creating a strategy to defeat you."
Jaden couldn't help but chuckle a little at that. "Well, that's nice I suppose."
"Though, unlike me, it seems others aren't a fan of your victory." Bastion shrugged his shoulders. "How unfortunate, I truly believe it was a great performance from both sides."
"Really, who didn't like it?"
Bastion then gestured for him to turn around. He did and looked across the room, his eyes immediately noticing the brown haired girl sitting next to Alexis who was glaring daggers at him from that distance. Quickly he turned back towards Bastion. "Yeah… I don't know why she's like that exactly."
Jasmine did seem a little annoyed at him for beating Alexis the other day, hadn't she? For whatever reason…
Bastion shrugged. "Just thought you should know. She's been giving you a look since you entered the room. But anyways it seems you've beaten an Obelisk, what's your plan from here?"
"Plan?"
Bastion shrugged again. "I felt the need to ask. But if you don't have one, that's fine too. Though I do wish to know something from you."
"Hm? Fire away."
"In the Ra Dorm, I've been hearing more and more unrest, not just from the First Year Ra students, but the 2nd and third year Ra students as well. They're all exchanging stories about how the Obelisks seem to be losing an awful lot of duels to Ra and Slifer students recently. Whether that statement is true or simply hyperbole, it's getting a lot of my fellow Ra classmates wanting to duel Obelisks themselves."
"Oh?" That was interesting. Though he didn't exactly see any reason why that wasn't the norm, even disregarding the casual duels. Isn't it normal for Ra Students to want to climb up the ranks and duel Obelisk Students? At least, that's what he thought was normal.
"I simply want to know if something similar is happening amongst the Slifer Reds is all." Bastion inquired.
"Huh? Honestly I don't know. Let me ask." He then turned to look around him, he noticed Syrus in the seat next to him, looking blankly into the distance with all of his school supplies out on his desk already. He should really do that too, later though.
Choosing to not disturb his friend he looked elsewhere, turning behind and above him towards the student sitting on the desk behind him. "Hey!" He tried catching their attention.
The student behind him let out a small feminine 'Eep!' before shaking his head and responding. "Yeah, how can I help you? Yo."
Jaden blinked for a moment. Puberty has not been kind to this tiny boy, his voice was like gravel and ultra deep despite them looking to be even more slim and small than his buddy Syrus.
"Have you noticed any Slifers duelling Ra Yellow Students or Obelisk Blue Students?" He asked.
The Slifer student pulled down their hat down slightly, covering a small portion of their face. "Um… I don't know. Don't ask me… Yo."
"Okay…" Jaden replied giving the boy an odd look before looking back at Bastion. "Doesn't look like it to me."
"You can't reach a consensus by questioning only one student." Bastion commented dryly before crossing his arms over his chest. "Well it was worth the effort, I'll have to try asking again later perhaps."
He was about to ask Bastion another question when the doors to the classroom opened. Just about everyone looked up to see their teacher step into the room. It was the Professor! Professor Chrowler. A lanky blonde man who wore earrings and had lipstick.
Though in addition to all that, he looked almost dead to the world around him. There were heavy bags under his eyes and he was dragging his feet as he walked down the stairs. As their teacher passed them he looked towards Syrus and whispered to him.
"Hey… does Chrowler look… strange to you?"
"He looks tired." Syrus pointed out dryly. "Maybe both of the Obelisk Dorm heads were awoken due to the problem at the girl's dorms last night. "
"Huh, yeah that makes sense." Jaden nodded. Better than any explanation he could come up with at the moment. Of course the Professor would've helped chase the Pervert all throughout last night.
Once The Professor Chrowler had reached the desk at the front of the classroom he collapsed down in his chair, causing it to swivel slightly. He then sighed. "I'm sorry class, but we'll be holding off that lesson about Field Spells you were all looking forward to."
The class replied with a wave of disingenuine disappointment.
The Professor then brought a hand to his face and dragged it down over it to help sober him up. When he finished that he flipped through the papers on his desk before shaking his head. "Yes, i think Instead, we'll do something a lot easier than that…" He then brought out his laptop from a bag he had on him and opened it, he then quickly connected a cord to the laptop to a port in the desk. The giant television screen built into the wall behind the teacher's desk and took up the entire back wall, lit up.
"I'll use this to randomly generate two names. They will duel and you'll take notes. These won't be ranked duels, regardless you'll receive 50DP for win- i mean losing… and then 100DP for winning. We'll do this until the class ends." Chrowler explained in a tired tone.
He then pressed a button on the laptop. A graphic on the screen appeared, two pillars filled with many different names appeared before spinning upwards like some kind of slot machine.
You could almost sense the excitement overtake the tired morning energy of the classroom as the students suddenly felt like duelling.
"Oh cool!" Jaden beamed as he whispered excitedly. "I wish all our classes were like this!"
"I wonder who… knowing your luck Jay, you'll end up being chosen…" Syrus pointed out.
"Oh! I hope so!" He grinned.
The first pillar slammed to a stop suddenly, revealing the first opponent as Bastion Misawa.
"Oho!" The Ra Yellow nearby cheered for himself. "What shall i do now? What deck would be the most optimal?"
The second slot slowed to a stop, revealing the second name. Jasmine Makurada. Oh wait! Wasn't that Jasmine's friend, yeah! The girl that was staring daggers at him earlier, it seems like now he was gonna see her face-off against one of his friends.
Jaden then looked towards the Obelisk side of the auditorium, where indeed Alexis' friend had stood up and began walking towards the front of the classroom. Bastion moved there also in a short moment.
Eventually the two were standing across from each other. Duel Disks now strapped to their wrists, decks set and both are now staring at each other.
"I've yet to see you duel." Bastion mentioned. "This will be an excellent learning experience."
"Save the talk." Jasmine immediately put a stop to that. "This will be a cakewalk."
"Hmph." Bastion bristled slightly before shaking his head and taking a breath. "Alright then, let's just let our duelling do the talking then."
"If you're ready! will start us off" Professor Chrowler called out. "Now begin!"
"DUEL!" Both duelists shouted out.
"Well since the teacher demands it! I'll go first!" Jasmine called out as she drew from her deck. "I'll begin this game by summoning my Harpie Girl, in attack mode! Followed by setting two cards face-down and ending my turn." (A:500/D:500)
"Neat beginning play." Bastion complimented as he drew from his deck without any fanfare and added the card to his hand. "Now I'll respond with this. Pyroclasticonda!" A serpent made of flames erupted from the ground near Bastion, the monster then swirled around him. Its incredibly hot body created a hissing sound as it touched the ground.
"See, if my opponent controls a monster while I control none, then I can summon this card from my hand without tributing." The Ra Yellow Student explained. (A:1800/D:1800)
"Next, I'll use their effect. When Normal Summoned using their effect, I get to Normal Summon any Fire Monster from my hand, though they'll be destroyed during the End Phase, so! For their brief appearance, I'd like you to meet The Thing That Dwells In The Crater!"
A new monster appeared on the field, though it would be more accurate to say it was a living silhouette of black hazy smoke with a set of glowing red eyes. (A:1000/D:1200)
"With two monsters on my field and only one on yours, I'd be a fool to not take advantage of my numbers now! So attack, Thing! Destroy the Harpie Chick!"
"Back off!" Jasmine retaliated as she chopped her arm horizontally through the air. "Trap Activate! Harpies Mirrors & Mirrors!"
Despite the trap rising up, Bastion's monster kept moving forwards and pierced straight through the young Harpie, taking away some of Jasmine's life points as it did. Not that the Obelisk seemed to care in the slightest. (3500 LP)
Once the last remaining remnants of the Harpie Girl faded from the field she re-appeared immediately inside of a pair of mirrors on Jasmine's left and right. Before Bastion could open his mouth to ask what was happening Jasmine interrupted him rudely.
"See, my mirrors will make up for my monster's defeat. Whenever a Wind Normal Monster is destroyed by battle I can Special Summon any level 4 or lower Harpie monster from my deck or hand, or any Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from my deck and the one who gets to make this decision is you!"
"Hm?" Bastion brought his thumb to his chin. "A conundrum. Or it would if one option wasn't much easier than the other. I select the Normal Monster, as it won't be able to do all that much in the face of my snake!"
Jasmine closed her eyes and shrugged, a smile growing over their face. "Then I'll summon Faith Bird, Attack Mode." (A:1500/D:1200)
"Attack my Pyroclastic being!" Bastion ordered. His fire snake lashed out, easily overpowering the teal bird that had appeared on the field, Jasmine raised her hands up, splitting the flames that washed over her to the sides. Once the attack was over Jasmine stood back up at the ready. "That's annoying, but ultimately insignificant." (3200LP)
Jasmine then waved her hands towards her pair of mirrors on her field. "However, my trap is still active, which means you get to use its effect again!"
"Then another Normal Monster." Bastion felt confident answering.
"Incorrect." Jasmine haughtily denied his answer and turned her nose up at him. "You can't pick the same option twice per turn."
"Which means you get a harpie monster this time then?" He inquired.
"Great, you remember!" Jasmine clapped her hands together before fetching a card from her deck. "Say hello to Harpie Lady #1. This Harpie treats her name as Harpie Lady while she's on the Field or in my graveyard, as well she grants all WIND Monsters a 300 attack point bonus!"
Emerging from the mirrors a harpie appeared. A human with bird talons for feet and hands, their arms replaced with splendid emerald green feathers. This Harpie had bright pink hair that fell behind her.
Harpie Lady #1 (A:1600/D:1400)
"A card Mai Valentine often uses." Bastion noted as he went and looked down at his hand of cards.
After a moment however he turned his head back up towards Jasmine.
"Unfortunately, that is all I am able to do this turn. I'll set a card face-down and end my turn.." As he did his hazy silhouette of a monster imploded immediately. As it did a grin grew on Bastion's face. "And as i do, my serpent's effect causes my crater dweller to be destroyed, triggering their own effect. Summoning any Pyro Monster from my hand. So welcome my newest creature! The Mighty Master Of The Burning Castle!"
A tornado of flames surrounded Bastion before the fire seemed to come to life and pull back to be behind the Ra Yellow Student. It then took shape, gaining a masculine chest, ripped arms and a head with curved horns atop it. (A:2000/D:2000/LV:7)
"Next, my Mighty Master's effect activates, if he hasn't attacked this turn, then during the End Phase, you take 1000 points of damage!" Bastion explained before the fiery giant clapped its hands together, sending a rain of flaming embers over Jasmine.
"Additionally, each time you take effect damage, all my other fire monsters gain 500 Attack and Defence, they'll also be able to deal piercing battle damage during any turn you take effect damage as well, though that part of the effect isn't applicable yet."
Mighty Master (A:2500/D:2500)
Pyroclasticonda (A:2300/D:2300)
"Are you done yet?" Jasmine asked impatiently.
Bastion seemed to bristle again at that last dismissive gesture. He scoffed. "Yes, that is it, I assure you. Your move."
Jaden couldn't help but let out a whistle at that. "A pretty good opener from Bastion. I didn't know that he used a Fire deck."
Syrus watched the duel too, though with his head still resting against his textbook. "Mhm."
"But Jasmine played a card that looks like a Harpie monster, so I don't know. Maybe she'll do something cool soon. Ah, I can't tell who is going to win yet." Jaden continued to excitedly theorise.
"Honestly." He spoke up. "I think it might be Jasmine. She is an Obelisk Blue."
"Yeah, but I've beaten Obelisk Blues, I reckon Bastion can pull out a victory here." Jaden replied back to him.
"We'll just have to wait and see, I guess…" He sighed.
"Yeah, I guess we will." Jaden grinned excitedly again, just like he always seems to do.
"You made a big mistake not getting rid of me during your turn, because that turn will be your last!" Jasmine pointed out as she drew her next card. "I'll begin my turn by playing the Spell Card: Elaborating Elegance Ego. Through the kaleidoscope of mirrors, you find yourself and more,"
"What?" Bastion asked.
Jasmine answered his question as she began to explain. "By playing this card, if I control a Harpie Lady, I get to Special Summon two tokens with the same stats as that Harpie Lady."
Two more mirror images of Jasmine's Harpie Lady appeared besides the first. Each with identical stats to the first, which only proceeded to be boosted by the original's effect. (A:1900/D:1400)
"Strong but not strong enough." Bastion pointed out quickly as he tightened up his stance.
"They don't need to be, because one of them is about to become my tribute to summon this card. Appear! Simorgh, The Bird Of Ancestry! Using his effect he only requires one tribute to summon if that tribute is wind!"
One of the two mirrored tokens vanished into a gusts of wind, spinning around the field before landing on the ground behind Jasmine, opening a small portal in the floor as they impacted, from that portal a orange and golden brown bird the size of a dragon appeared and took off into the air.
It then quickly gained and additional 300 ATK from Harpie Lady #1 (A:3200/D:2000)
"When my Simorgh is tribute summoned, by tributing only WIND monsters, then i can target two cards on the field to return to the hand, i choose your two pyro monsters!" At Jasmine's command the golden bird flapped their massive wings, pushing about the two sentient flames until they went completely out. Leaving Bastion's field bare.
"How unfortunate." Bastion winced.
Jasmine ignored him and pointed her hand forwards. "Simorgh, take him down!"
"I'll activate my trap card!" Bastion countered as the massive bird began to rear its head. "Enchanted Javelin, now I gain life points equal to your attacking monster's attack power!" (7200LP)
"What a useless card! It doesn't even negate my attack!" Said Jasmine as she ordered her monster to continue its attack. The bird dived towards Bastion, passing over him and causing the Ra Yellow Student to be bashed by the strong tailwind that followed the bird.
He gritted his teeth as his life points lowered immediately. (4000LP)
"Well then…" A grin then fell over his face. "I don't appreciate calling my cards useless, everything has a purpose in my grand plan. Now you'll understand why I activate from my hand, the effect of Gorz! The Emissary Of Darkness!"
"Uh, what!" Jasmine took a step back as a shadowy miasma seemed to surround Bastion. A second later a orb of darkness existed from his chest before moulding its shape into that of a human man with wild red hair and dressed in a leather get-up. Large blades strapped to their arms.
Then appearing to their left was an orb of light that formed a more refined looking human, a woman dressed in greek-style armour, holding a sword in their hands.
"See, when I take Battle Damage and have no cards on my field, then I can summon Gorz, then special summon a token with attack and defence equal to the damage I took." He explained to Jasmine.
Gorz (A:2700/D:2500)
Emissary Token (A:3200/D:3200)
The Obelisk Blue gritted her teeth. The reason was obvious, with two very powerful monsters on Bastion's field, she wouldn't be able to take a hit from his life points. "Fine then! I'll set my Harpie Lady #1 to defence mode and then end my turn there then."
"And I'll begin my next turn then." Bastion grinned proudly. "Draw!"
He then ripped a card off the top of his deck before adding it to his hand, then taking a different card from his hand and slamming it onto his Duel Disk. "Appear! Molten Zombie!" (A:1600/D:400)
"Now we battle!" Bastion declared before pointing his Molten Zombie to attack Jasmine's defence positioned Harpie Lady.
The flaming shambling corpse crossed the field and smashed its hands into the Harpie Lady, causing them to shriek out before fading from the field.
"Now without that monster, all your Wind monsters lose 300 attack points."
Jasmine didn't react as her remaining monster's were weakened down to their original values of 1600 and 2900 respectively.
"Emissary! Attack Simorgh!"
The armoured goddess raised her blade and took a calming deep breath, then without their face showing a shred of emotion they crossed the field in the blink of an eye, their blade raised above their head, poised to stab downwards into the bird.
"Not so fast! Magic Cylinder!" Jasmine called out.
Bastion's eyes widened in shock as his monster's blade plunged into the bird, only for the skin the blade should've pierced to be replaced with one of the magic cylinders that had somehow lodged itself into its body.
Bastion looked around for a moment, only to notice a second cylinder halfway in the ground behind him, which then fired a beam of white light into his shoulder blades, the sudden flash causing him to stumble forwards a step. "Ah… that was unaccounted for…" (800LP)
The ra yellow then shook their head to their clear their thoughts. "I'm not done yet. Gorz, destroy that token!"
The red haired god grinned before jumping up into the air and diving down like a missile into the Harpie Token, shattering the mirror image into shards of glass.
Jasmine again hardly looked affected. (1100LP)
"Did that feel good?" She asked. "Because regardless of what you do Yellow Boy, I'll be taking the victory here."
Instead of replying Bastion instead mechanically moved into his main phase two. "Set one, end turn."
Jasmine scoffed. "Should've just given up. It would've been more sportsmanlike."
"I much rather play until the last card." Bastion countered.
"And I'd much rather not waste time with superfluous plays, it's surrender now or lose now. Whatever you do, the result doesn't change." Jasmine informed him.
"Then maybe you should surrender?" Bastion offered.
Jasmine scowled at that response, she didn't respond to that and instead moved to start her turn. "Draw!" She did so. Simorgh! Attack Bastion's Molten Zombie!" Her bird poised itself in the air, flapping until it reached a great enough height.
"Not yet!" Bastion denied raising up his trap card. "I still have Sakuretsu Armour."
"Yes…" Jasmine grinned. "And my last of my set cards, is the Seven Tools Of The Bandit. I pay 1000 life points to deny your play!" (100LP)
"Ah!" Bastion's eyes widened.
The bird finished positioning itself and dived down at Bastion's blazing zombie, destroying it and causing a powerful wind to blast over him. (0LP)
Bastion winced and clenched his fist before loosening it after a moment. "So close…"
"The winner of the duel is Jasmine Makurada." Chrowler declared. "As expected of one of my Obelisk Blues." The teacher praised her. "As promised. 50 for Bastion, I hope you improve yourself, and 100 for Jasmine here, I'll also give an extra 50 DP for her performance today. I found it especially skillful."
"Thank you sir." Jasmine replied sweetly to the professor. She then turned back to Bastion. "But it's to be expected right? Blue beats Yellow, every time."
Bastion didn't comment and instead turned and walked away from the duel back to his seat.
"Pst, hey Bastion."
Bastion had only just barely sat down in his seat when Jaden caught his attention by trying to wave subtly at him. He assumed he was trying to get his attention subtly, but he didn't quite think waving your hand over your head was exactly a smart idea to do so.
"Yes?" He replied to Jaden.
"Great duel man!" He congratulated him.
"I'm not quite sure you should say that to me, I did lose after all." He answered back.
"But you played all those cool fire monsters, you don't see them all that often." Jaden chuckled to himself before he tried to whisper again. "Still fun."
"Yes, but this loss was quite disappointing. I'll need to make changes to my deck. I'd love to become an Obelisk Blue student one day."
"I mean you could probably easily be an Obelisk Blue student already, in my opinion anyways, you certainly got the brains for it." Jaden pointed out.
"Yet I still lost a duel against an Obelisk Blue." He pointed out.
"It's a duel, someone has to lose it." Jaden replied back. "Losing hardly means you're bad at the game. It only means someone else won that match. Jasmine played good too, though she seemed overly mean towards you."
Bastion hummed to himself for a moment, processing Jaden's words. "Yes, I suppose you're right, I didn't do poorly." he smiled before moving onto the next topic. "And about Jasmine, yes, that girl seemed very snappy and insistent about the dorm dynamics for some strange reason. I think she was trying to make an example out of me?"
"Wow, honestly I don't understand why." Jaden admitted as he shrugged his shoulders and leaned back into his seat.
"I may have some idea, I mean considering who she's friends with…" He began to speak. But before he could finish the short boy next to Jaden suddenly jumped up to his feet.
"Are You Kidding Me!?" Syrus called out as he looked out towards the front of the class. Both he and Jaden also turned towards the front again to see one of the names on the random name picker for the next duel showed Syrus Truesdale as one of the names.
The other one was Mindy Hamaguchi.
The other friend of Alexis', wow, his buddy didn't have the best of luck, did he?
Jaden chuckled. "Well good luck Syrus, you got this!"
"Do i?" Syrus seriously questioned.
"Just give it all you've got." Jaden encouraged again.
The short boy in question deflated slightly. "Aw man… the bad luck never ends doesn't it. How am I supposed to defeat an Obelisk Blue Student? Seriously!"
Ending Notes
Hello, Mimikree here
Finally, hooray! Someone other than Jaden is duelling, isn't that amazing! Unfortunately for Bastion, Jasmine actually has some skill here.
(Although she was never explicitly bad in the show, she and Mindy only had girly girl accents, but their only real losses/duel seem to be against an actual pro-duelist. from what i remember of the show anyways. In the games they're definitely beginner duelists however.)
Jasmine and Mindy don't have any real duels in the show, so i thought i'd make them a little more important in this series. Just a little bit though.
Having Jasmine use Harpies or WIND Monster with a Harpie engine, was because I swear I remember her using a WIND Deck in a GX video-game. I'm sure I also pulled Mindy's deck mostly from a video game too. Since they don't have a real deck in the actual tv series their decks change a fair bit between games.
I can't wait to have Bastion duel again however, because then i'll be able to really show his full potential.
Now one question before the next chapter:
Who do you think will win next Chapter, Syrus or Mindy and if they win, how do you think they'll do it?
Show your support by favouriting or leaving reviews, i love reading those, no matter what it's actually about. Every little thing means so much to me. Have a nice day! Seriously!
