Chapter 1: 2 Years Later

It was a bright sunny morning, and Mr. Litwak had just opened his arcade. All the kids, preteens, and teens rushed in, and went to their favorite games. One of the patrons went to Fix-it Felix Jr., and put in their quarter.

The screen showed Ralph falling asleep in a stump, then a dozer moved it to build an apartment building.

"Hey you moved my stump!" Ralph yelled.

And then he went to the building.

"I'M GONNA WRECK IT!"

Then he started wrecking the building. Then the Nicelanders screamed,

"Fix-it Felix!"

Then Felix appeared with his hammer.

"I can fix it!"

He then began repairing the building, while Ralph kept destroying it. And as usual, in the end Felix defeated Ralph, and the Nicelanders threw him off the roof. This went on for a few more hours, and then the arcade closed.

"All right, the coast is clear." called Ryu.

All the game characters then started to goof off. Ralph got up from the mud, and Felix and the Nicelanders went over to him.

"You okay, Ralph?" asked Felix.

"Don't worry, I'm fine. It's just mud." Ralph assured.

"I better get upstairs, Tammy's bringing the kids over." he informed.

"Oh, I better whip up a couple pies for kids." Mary said, as she went inside the building.

"And I better get my earplugs." complained Gene.

As everyone went back inside the building, Ralph went to his house. He was greeted by the other characters of the game. Q'Bert made his noises at him.

"Thanks, Q'Bert. You were great today too."

He went inside his house, and relaxed for a while by reading some papers.

After a while he heard the sound of the Sugar Rush Racers coming. He stepped outside, and saw Calhoun riding on the train with all the kids.

"All right little soldiers, calm down we're here." Calhoun told them.

As they all got off, Felix came outside with a happy look on his face.

"Tammy, kids!" he cried happily.

"Dad!" the racers cheered.

They tackled him to the ground, and Calhoun quickly came over to his rescue.

"Come on guys, your Dad can only handle so many of you at a time."

And with that, the racers got off of him.

"Hey kids." Ralph greeted.

"Hi Ralph."

"Well let's get you all inside now." Felix told his kids.

As Calhoun led them inside, Felix glanced over at Ralph who looked a bit somber. He reached into his pocket, and pulled out half of the cookie medal that Vanellope had made for him years ago.

"You okay, brother?" he asked.

"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine." Ralph replied.

"You're welcome to join us if you want."

"Thanks, but maybe later."

And with that, they went their separate ways. In Ralph's house, he thought more about Vanellope. It had been two years since she decided to leave the arcade to become a racer for the game Slaughter Race on the Internet.

It was hard to say goodbye, but he knew he had to let his best friend follow her dreams.

"I wonder how she's doing?" he thought.

On the Internet, Vanellope was racing through Slaughter Race. She was neck and neck with Shank, as they both drove towards the finish line.

"I'm winning this thing, Shank." Vanellope told her.

"Don't be so sure, squirt." Shank shot back.

She pressed the gas pedal, and sped ahead. Vanellope tried to keep up, but Shank ended up winning.

"Whew, good race, Vanellope. Wanna go again?" Shank asked.

"No thanks. We've already raced like 15 times already."

"Suit yourself. I'm gonna do another lap."

And then she took off. As Vanellope got out of her car, and took a little stroll. Since she was a non playable character or NPC in Slaughter Race, she was able to go about the game as she pleased.

All day she'd been racing around with Shank and her friends. While it was fun, it got a little tiring after a while. She watched as some of the actual playable characters zoomed down the road, getting points, and facing obstacles that had to get past.

Vanellope sighed, she remembered those days. Then she was snapped out of her thoughts by her stomach growling.

"Guess I better get me a snack."

So she went back to where she and the other NPCs lived to get a snack. She wished she could just grab a snack from anywhere like back in Sugar Rush. After walking the long way back to the garage, Vanellope grabbed some food from a vending machine, and took a seat.

When she finished eating, Shank and the rest of her crew came in.

"Hey guys, how was your day?" Vanellope asked.

"Oh absolutely great. All day I spent all day doing nothing just like I wanted." said Pyro.

"So what should we do now?" she asked them.

"Well we're going to kick back, drink some beer, and chat up the night." told Butcher Boy.

Everyone raided the fridge, and pulled out a beer.

"Care to join us, Vanellope?" asked Little Debbie.

"Uh, no thanks." Vanellope told her.

Not only did she decline because she couldn't drink, but also because she found the stuff Shank and her friends talked about kinda boring. She went up to her room, and looked out of the window.

As she looked out at the run down city, she began to feel a little homesick. She remembered back in Sugar Rush after racing she would play with the other racers and then hang out with Ralph. She then pulled out the other half of the medal she'd given to Ralph.

"(Sighs), I wonder he he's doing?" she thought.
