Oh look! Whose back again, it's me! After a day's worth of consideration, I have come to a conclusion. This story will no longer be a one-shot since the reviews and I have come to an agreement to keep the show going! Because screw it! You guys clearly liked and so do I with the idea of an android SI. Because of that, the story continues onwards!
Oh yeah, I will also be changing it into a crossover under x-over since there's no Punishing Gray Raven tags. What a shame. No matter buuut…. Small reviews first! Then we continue where we left off.
HellFire28: Yeah, they are a rare breed. In fact, it's partially why I wanted to make this story. To hopefully give ideas for others to expand beyond the idea of the SI joining Beacon as a student. Or something along those lines. Plus, also makes my story different since our protagonist is not a living being in the sense of the words.
Zekken182: Oh hey! Good to see you again and I'm glad you enjoyed it! And yes. As you have seen from above, that wish comes through today.
Drcaus: Damn, I haven't seen Casshern for a really long time. Yet I suppose it fits in a way. Both have a human consciousness inside an android. But I need to catch up on it if I were to make it yea?
Slimereader11: Eyy! Slime! Good to see ya again and yes. It's happening bois!
Eric Mead1: Potential indeed which is why I change that.
Nova1233: Well… I did mention that I might do it but let's just throw that out the window K?
Notoki: Yea, I never seen any PGR fanfic of any kind, let's change that shall we? Lucia Plume is just Alpha lite. But she's still pretty good if you were to ask me.
: Glad you liked it and yes, after considerations, this story will continue. Also, a GLADOS kinds of machine? Huh… I wonder…
Mirego1999: Oh, don't worry we will get there. Also, Luna is now available to draw so yea.
And with the reviews addressed, let's get this show on the road. And here's a hint for you all. Altas will realise that they just invited a 'former' killer android right into the middle of their Academy. Kekeke.
Like all my other stories, I do not own any of RWBY or their content. They all belong to their respective owners. Nor do I own any content belonging to Kuro Technology and their series Punishing Gray Raven.
Lucia's POV
You know, wandering through the icy tundra in the middle of a blizzard while having no idea where I'm going isn't the greatest idea, now that I had time to think about it. First of all, I can't see anything farther than an arm's length. Even with my enhanced optics which should be able to see better than an organic. Secondly, I can't hear anything in this storm. Just the hallowing frozen winds blowing directly against my face.
It also turns out that the storm is preventing me from connecting to any nearby support CCTs towers for direction. So, because of that, I have no choice but to wander aimlessly while I try and value my options. Thankfully, I won't freeze to death in this snow storm, but it would be wise to get out of before the storm buries me beneath it. Because of that, my processors were kicked into action as to what I should do now.
[Evaluating options.]
[Option 1: Send out distress signals with a chance of 43% of success. If successful, 93% it would be the Atlas military that would be the one responding. It is likely that 89% chance of them reacting with hostility due to past aggressions against them. 7% would be others such as raiders or civilians responding.]
[Option 2: Find shelter and wait till the storm passes. 67% of success due to the presence of ruined infrastructure used by the White Fang expedition thanks to data extracted from their scrolls. Once the storm passes, connect to CCTs to secure current position in Solitas.]
[Recommendation Option 2. It has a higher success outcome.]
Mmm… While option two is better, we can improve it more by combining it with option 1. Though it has a chance to potentially alert Atlas to my presence which sounds really bad due to my… slaughter of hundreds of lives and military personnel. A gamble must be taken here. It's either that or spend more time in this begotten storm and still remain lost in it. I also need to connect with the rest of civilization to see where I am in the timeline.
I continued to push forward in the snow as it reached up to my knees. Thankfully, I am not slowed down by this much snow, but I had to increase the internal temperatures of my body to prevent ice from freezing me in place, due to the fact that it's currently -15 degrees Celsius out here.
I soon reached what looked like a ruined town as debris could be seen all over the place. It is clear as day that this place used to be more… habitable for humans and Faunuses. All data gathered within my entry had pointed that the Grimm were the likely suspects as to why this town was abandoned and left to ruin.
I soon found a somewhat stable house to stay in, I walked right into it and sat on the cold sofa, before I began letting my head possess everything while unconsciously staring at the ceiling. You know, in this kind of situation back on Earth, if I'm either strained or be mentally exhausted. I would have played some music on my phone. Not that I can do anything here unfortunately.
[Unlocking soundtrack feature. Playing smooth jazz.]
"Huh. Nice." A small smile crept on my face. Did father really just install a musical feature into this body? I would call it mundane but I actually liked this feature, I wonder if I could play anything else? Eh, I'll try it later. Now it's the time to think up a distress signal to send out to get me out of here.
As I was stationary while listening to smooth jazz in my head. A massive horn began blaring outside my current shelter. This kicked me back to reality as I immediately stood up from the sofa with my hand on my sheath.
"What the hell was that noise?! You what. Better question: why was it suddenly doing that?" Those were my thoughts as I ran out to see some sort of Atlas made device among the snow letting out a really loud alarm.
[Priority alert! Disable that alarm! Asap!]
An urgent pop up showed up as my eyes widened It must be extremely important if the system is giving me an alert to destroy it. Pushing the alert aside, I immediately dashed out and over towards it while it just got louder. So loud in fact that I had to disable my audio sensors just to not cause them to overload. Pulling out Benizakura from its sheath, I sent a single slash onto what I assume to be the main component of the device and split it into two.
That also shut it up, so thank God.
Curious as to what it was and why it caused my system to address it with an alert, I proceeded to stare at the device for a few seconds before another pop up appeared in front of my eyes with information as to what it was.
[A device created 25 years ago by Atlas. Its purpose is to alert the Atlesian military of Project Alpha's current estimated location should she leave the facility.]
Oh, that's not good.
[If this is successful, the higher ups of the Atlas military will be immediately notified.]
"I better hope that it wasn't successful then again, I did split it into two." I began to sheath Benizakura and turn around right as another pop in appeared in my eyes.
[Alert! Activation of the device was successful. Tracking data leaving the device and heading towards Atlas.]
"Shit." I silently cursed out as I walked away from it from the destroyed device and back into the house, right before sitting on the couch with my arms folded.
"Ok, this may not look so bad right now but I need to think of a solution. I have an estimated 9 to 12 hours before any Atlesian military shows up." Or at least, that is what the system says. Even then, the data might be inaccurate and outdated. I still have to make plans.
As a machine part of me got to work as to what to do now that Atlas is likely aware of me, I began to explore the interior workings of myself as it was clear that I don't really know much of it. Well, that and I still need time to process everything that has happened in the last hour or so.
I mean, me being brought into the world of Remnant all because another person failed to defeat Salem in limited time? That and I so happen to inhabit control of an android made by that man who failed his task.
…
"WHAT KIND OF SICK JOKE IS THIS?!" I proceeded to yell out as loud as I could before the emotion suppressors kicked in and calmed me down seconds later. I could only rest my hands on my head as I began to think.
"With that thing going off, it's likely that Ironwood would be notified and would no doubt get Winter to investigate. Actually, that could be used to my advantage. But there's one problem."
I began to gently tug my metal 'horns' on my head. "If only I could get this thing off my head. They would probably recognize me if I left these on."
As soon as I muttered that, the mechanical pieces fell right off my face and they hit the ground with an audible clunk. I could only just stare with surprise when it fell completely off my face. Almost instinctively, my hands slowly reached out to the sides of my face and to my genuine surprise, a pair of human ears could be felt in its place! Wait, so these things are covering my ears, and can be detached if necessary? A ping then appeared in front of my eyes.
[If required, minor modifications can be applied to Alpha's frame if needed. However major modifications cannot be applied without help.]
"Huh. that's interesting." Those were my thoughts as I picked those things up before keeping them in my overcoat. Now that I think about it, I don't really have an undershirt or bra to cover up my cleavage.
…
*Cough. *
I then began to fiddle around with my overcoat by folding its sleeves down to hide my robotic arms when suddenly, a chain with multiple black dog-tags fell out of one of my pockets and onto the floor. "Where did that come from, and why was it in there?" I mumbled.
Being curious as to what names could be on the dog-tags, I picked it up with my hand as my head tilted slightly to the side with curiosity. As I lifted up the dog-tags to eye level, I could see four names. One on each dog-tag.
Pietro Polendina, Arthur Watts, Kurt Erhard and Gerard Friedlich.
I recognised three out of the four names on each dog-tag. But who's the last guy on it? And why are their names on it? I remember that they are a type of identification tag worn by military personnel. But why them? Pietro, Arthur and Kurt are scientists, not military personnel.
Gerard… who is he by the way?
[Searching database for Gerard Friedlich.]
…
[ Error. Search failed. There are no references to Gerard Friedlich in the database.]
Strange… Then who is that person exactly? Could he be a military personal? He must be someone important to have his name alongside father, Pietro and Watts. I wonder… perhaps connecting with the CCTs would help me. Speaking of which, it looks like the storm has finally calmed down.
But before I could do anything, I heard something growling in the background and footsteps getting close. Many footsteps. Definably more than a handful.
[Audio indicates Sabyrs are in the town. Total number present. 10 and increasing rapidly.]
[Potential reason for presence, 78% likely due to the Atlesian device from earlier attracting their attention.]
[22% chance is due to Alpha's presence detected by them. Most likely they are being led by an Alpha Sabyr.]
[Recommended to avoid conflict with them.]
Clenching my sheath and quickly wearing the dog-tags around my neck, it then followed by me slowly approaching what used to be a window, and peered out to see many Sabyrs by the device. All taking turns sniffing at it while looking around for anyone nearby. Then I spotted it. A clearly much bigger Sabyr which so happens to be much spikey and had large patches of ice clinging to its body. That must be an Ice Sabyr leading the pack.
It snarled at its pack while shifting its head around. Clearly searching for the supposed prey, it sensed a while ago. With sublet haste, I bent down and slowly walked backwards and away from the group of Sabyrs and slowly moved toward an alternative exit. As much as I want to test out my fighting capabilities, engaging this many Grimm sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. And I should get moving.
*Creakkk…*
"Uh oh." Dread overtook me as all the Sabyrs in the vicinity immediately turned towards my direction with the alpha snarling even louder than before, which was quickly followed by a loud roar as I booked it and threw stealth out the window. With haste and speed, I dashed away from them as I could hear them roaring and hissing at me before they began to chase after me.
[Sending and amplifying distress signals now.]
[Current objective.]
[Survive.]
Is my Hud being sarcastic with me? I swear if father actually programmed this into my system as some kind of joke to him, and if it's actually scripted and not by made by sheer luck, I'm going to fucking flip! Gritting my teeth, I spun around before slamming my foot into the ground and grabbed both Benizakura and my sheath before waiting for them to come with me.
"Bring it on you giant cats." silently growled. And with that, a red aura washed over my body.
[Combat protocols enabled.]
Ironwood POV
It wasn't Ironwood's day today. He was currently in another meeting with the other council members. This time was mostly related to the upcoming Vytal Festival and other political talks which are all the same. How to make Atlas look better than the other kingdoms or something similar. But that changed when he received an urgent notice during the meeting that required his utmost attention in the command centre.
Taking his leave, Ironwood returned to the command centre which was bursting with activity from both technicians and Atlas Soldiers, even more so than before. It became even more clear that something was wrong when on the screen that showed Solitas with a designated point on it glowing bright red. More technicians could be seen scrambling all over the place.
"What is the situation?" Ironwood questions as everyone in the room saluted at him.
One of the leading technicians walked up to his side and explained. "General, a few minutes ago, we received data relating to Project Alpha. At first, we believed it to be a system error before we double confirmed it to be sure. It turns out not to be a mistake, but it doesn't make any sense sir," The technician adjusted his glasses as he continued explaining.
"Project Alpha was decommissioned 25 years ago and everybody knows about that. But some speculated that what we received was a false alarm and we should ignore it." He continued explaining the situation to Ironwood as they continued walking.
"Project Alpha…" Ironwood could only grimace, he remembered being given the actual information as to what actually happened by his previous General, Gerard Friedlich. Ironwood was just a lieutenant at the time before he retired and passed the title of General to him. He could remember his own horror of learning that they failed to stop it and were only lucky that it decided to not leave the facility.
He remembered how the quarantine zone was set up and even visited it once. Only to be taken down years later and after so many failed expeditions. But in truth, they did not fully dismantle everything. Hidden devices were still left behind in the once quarantine zone, just as a safety precaution. And now that one of these devices has been triggered.
Ironwood could ponder his next move when suddenly, the personnel yell out. "Incoming distress signal sir! It's at the same location as the alarm! Should we send someone in to investigate it?"
Ironwood narrows his eyes. A part of him now wonder's if the initial alarm truly had been a false alarm, and if he hesitates and does not send in a rescue team, someone is going to die. Either by Grimm or if they are extremely unlucky, they ran straight to Project Alpha. He has to make a decision because there is no time for hesitation.
"Send a message to the Ace-ops. Tell them that they have 10 minutes to get ready before a transport pick them up. Specialist Schnee will serve as my eyes for this operation. Do inform them of the situation."
"Yes sir!" Ironwood got a salute in return as he turned around and left. He needs to check up with two people.
Pietro Polendina and Arthur Watts. He would need their expertise on the matter due to their close relation with Project Alpha's maker.
Dr Kurt Erhard.
As Ironwood walked down the hallways, he remembered when everyone heard the news of Dr Kurt's disappearance. Both Pietro and Watts were deeply saddened and affected by his disappearance. In fact, Watts was the one who was affected the most as he looked up to Kurt more favourably compared to Pietro.
Watts idolised him because Kurt appreciates his talents where others would not. It was because of this that Kurt earned the loyalty of him and his technical skills. And due to Watt's having specialised in key fields of computer engineering and mechanical engineering. He played a key role in the original blueprints of Project Alpha.
As for Pietro, Kurt praises him for his engineering works as he played a part in making some technological advances that Atlas doesn't have. In the past, both Gerard and Ironwood had tried to convince Pietro to give up some of Kurt's technological secrets, but he refused out of respect for his missing and presumably dead friend and mentor. As a result of that, both he and Gerard reluctantly accepted Pietro's refusal.
Though thankfully, not all of Kurt's technology was kept a secret. One of his technological discoveries has revolutionised air travel for the whole of Remnant. What once took weeks to get from one kingdom to another, now only takes a day or two, Thanks to Kurt's much more efficient engine design that took less Dust to function in return for faster speeds like never before.
Yet, both Pietro and Watts haven't given up on Project Alpha yet, and both have requested to make their own versions under the concession that they won't end up like Project Alpha. In which he allowed with a hint of uncertainty. After all, he had read the reports on how strong and powerful Project Alpha had been in the logs, and if they successfully managed to replicate the original project. It would be a massive boon to Atlas as a whole.
Though, compared to before where they worked together with Kurt, both of them had decided to make their very own androids due to certain disagreements among themselves. This resulted in a 'friendly' rivalry among the both of them trying to make theirs better than the other. With the assistance of their own research teams.
What were their names? Ah yes. Project Luna for Watts, and Project Penny for Pietro.
Ironwood could only shake his head as he continued walking down the corridors by his lonesome. He could only wonder how the two scientists would react upon hearing that Project Alpha could have potentially reawakened and is on the move.
Lucia's POV
What was once a small skirmish that could have lasted for a few minutes turned out to be hours. Yes. You hear me. HOURS. My fight with a pack of Sabyrs had spiralled out of control as even more Grimm were attracted to the conflict currently raging. Ice variants of Beowolves as well as Ursai showed up and made their appearance while I was still fending off the Sabyrs.
Though to be fair on my part, I was doing well by myself as every slash I made against them was a one hit kill if I were to aim for their necks or head. Though other times I cripple them by lobbing off their limbs. In fact, there was another feature to my combat protocols in which for a time, I could go into bullet time mode in which everything slowed down to a crawl except for me for a time being before it goes into cool down.
This resulted in me finishing off multiple Grimm in one go before bullet time mode wears off. Seriously, this shit is like those kinds of games in which time slows down when you time a dodge and you can knock out multiple opponents in one go. Except this time, it can be activated according to my will. This is broken as hell if you were to ask me, but who am I to deny such advantage?
As I was fighting an ice Ursa, a loud ping in my system warned me of what looked like a projected trajectory of something heading towards me from behind. Knowing that something was about to hit me, I disengaged from the Ursa only for it to be hit by ACID of all things! That caused my eyes to widen as my head turned to face something that caused pretty much all of my system to scream out in alert.
A Cenitaur had made its appearance. And by God that thing looks horrifying as it looked in the show with its bulbous sac on its body full of acid. That stuff would no doubt eat through my aura and me. Since I'm made out of metal and stuff.
I didn't have time to deal with my shock over that monstrosity as I had to turn my body around and slashed a Beowolf into two horizontally through the torso. I then to dodge again as that fucker wouldn't let me have a reprieve before it attempted to spray me again with acid.
[Systems recalibrated to counter the new threat.]
[Blade Will activated.]
As if I knew how to do it, I began running towards Cenitaur as I swung Benizakura in its current direction. Much to my surprise initially, every slash I send out release waves of white energy projectiles that travel towards the Cenitaur. Even further when the numerous Centinels erupted from the ground only to get sliced into two as the Cenitaur dodges out of the way.
Using the body of one of those Centinels as a springboard, I leapt high into the air as I sheathed Benizakura back into place as bullet time mode activates. To say the least, that Cenitaur didn't know what hit it as I sent a powerful slash that severed its head clean off from its body. As well as it digging into the ground as well.
Might have placed a bit too much force into that.
"Yowai." I muttered as I landed back onto the ground before sheathing Benizakura.
[Detecting Atlas Bullhead transport arriving. ETA 2 minutes.]
Huh, way much earlier than expected. Looks like help has come finally.
[Scanning passengers…]
Parrying a Ursas claw with my sheath, I then thrust Benizakura right through the neck and without hesitation, I swung Benizakura around as it dislodged itself before hitting another Beowolf right in the chest as I did a backflip kick on another Beowolf that happened to be close to me. The situation got even more complicated when several more Centinels erupted all around me.
Narrowing my eyes, I respond in kind by slashing every single Grimm near me at such speeds that I have time to sheath Benizakura. They all collapse like dolls onto the ground and dissolve all around me. Did I also mention that all of them were sliced into chunks of whatever the hell they were made of?
Man, if this was animated, it would have looked so awesome.
[Passengers scanned.]
[Current documented occupants include Specialist Schnee and the Ace Ops from system memory.]
"Wait. What?!" My eyes widened slightly as I turned my head to see a bullhead in the distance. Using my enhanced optics, I zoomed in to see the bullhead with much detail. It also has a different thruster design compared to the show for some reason… Strange…
Yet it was moving at such insane speeds that it would arrive here in seconds. Turning my head back into the battlefield, more Grimm could be seen swarming in the distance. Sensors indicated they will arrive at my location in about a minute. And I know what to do in this kind of situation in which there's just too many enemies coming for ya. I just turned around and began running straight towards the bullhead.
Yea I know, sounds cowardly, but I achieved my current objectives to survive. Besides, I don't wish to keep fighting for any longer anytime soon now that my ride is here.
As I ran towards them and waved rather hastily towards them, the bullhead began to turn to its side and slow down. It then began to land as the door on the left side opened up as the Ace Ops could be seen sticking their heads out. Among them, Winter could be seen as well observing the situation.
[Deactivating emotional suppressors.]
That's helpful.
"Hey! Heyyy!" I called out. "Are you guys my rescuers?" I continued on as the Bullhead landed in front of me. Clover then took a step out, so did the rest of the Ace ops except for Winter who stood by and just stared at me.
"And I assume you're responsible for the distress signal we were sent to investigate?" Clover responded back in kind. Also, holy shit why are they so big? Doing a quick scan on them tells me that Clover is about 1,9 metres tall. Marrow is 1.85, Elm is 1.96 and Harriet is 1.7. This fame's height is about 1.65 and just shorter than Harriet. Why did father give me such a small body?
"Yea." I huffed. "I got separated from my caravan and have been fighting against the Grimm who were attracted to me for a while now. I also lost my scroll in the process as I was transmitting my distress call." I looked nervously back before realising I never introduced myself.
"Oh yea, I nearly forgot to introduce myself. My name is Lucia. I have no surname, so just call me Lucia." I just gave a small bow as the Ace ops gave one in return. Also, Elm and Harriot were both glancing at my metal hands. Yea that would no doubt attract their attention.
"Well that explains why the signal cut out halfway throughout the flight there." Clover just shook his head casually. To be truthful, I purposely stopped sending the distress signal out mid-fight to make it sound more convincing. "It's a pleasure to meet you kiddo." Clover just smiled as I felt a small blush on my cheeks. I feel so anxious. I proceed to turn my head towards where I came.
"Can we get out of here? There's a massive horde of Grimm on my tail a while ago and I think they'll be arriving here soon." I expressed my thoughts as I got nods back. Winter could be seen tapping on her ear before she turned her head. Though her expressions were still stern and strict as always, system indicates that she partially bought it, though it was clear that she remained doubtful. Hopefully it's just long enough for me to get to Atlas and out of it…
"Sure thing kid." Clover nodded as the ace ops got into the bullhead. "Just hurry up and jump in." Clover just smiled at me as I nodded before joining them. As soon as I got onto my seat, the bullhead took off as a horde of Grimm began gathering at where the bullhead was once at. All while snarling and roaring at us. I then heard Marrow whistling.
"Wow. That's a lot of them. You weren't kidding about running from them."
I let out an exhausted sigh. "I have been fighting and running from them for a while now. I need some rest and I'm in no mood to talk right now." I was technically telling the truth as I leaned on my left cheek to hide parts of it which were metal.
"Sure thing Lucia, get some rest. We'll wake you up once we reach there." I heard Clover saying as I rested my sensory optics. Yet my head was still processing information every second. But the main thing in my head was how my little sis was doing back on Earth.
Sarah…
I hope you're doing fine without me. You were always so clingy to me ever since both mom and dad died in an accident all those years ago. Yet both of us pushed on and lived our lives to the best. You and I got jobs that paid us decently well and that was that, heck, you even found love before I did. I couldn't be a prouder sister than I am now.
But I have to wonder, what happened to my body back on Earth? Did I just die in my sleep at the office? Am I just a soul cloned by the brother gods? What if I truly am dead on Earth? Can you even move on without me after losing mom and dad Sarah?
I can't help but be worried for you little sis, even if I'm in another world entirely.
My free hand clenched tightly as a small frown appeared on my face as all the Ace ops noticed my changed expression and mood. They could only glance at each other as the Bullhead continued flying towards Atlas.
It has been hours ever since Ironwood had ordered Specialist Winter as well as the Ace ops to investigate the distress signal. Recently, Winter came back to him with a call about founding a girl with white hair running for her life from Grimm. She also reported that said girl seemed strange in a way, she couldn't put her finger on it but Winter felt that there's something wrong with the girl.
Well… besides her clearly robotic hands and her left cheek that had some sort of metal on it for some reason.
With them bringing the strange girl over, Ironwood had called both Pietro and Watts into his office and began explaining the situation to both of them.
"Hmm… is that so?" Watts hummed with interest.
"There must be a reason as to why Alpha could have potentially left the facility. Everything has a reason, even for something as advanced as her." Watts explained as Pietro just shook his head.
"Even so Watts, Project Alpha's reawakening bolds ill for everyone. What if she still wishes to kill everyone like she did with the rest of our colleagues 25 years ago?" Pietro pointed out while on his customised chair.
Watts could only let out a resigned sigh. "True, I won't deny that…"
"While I'm glad that you both understand the situation," Ironwood adjusted his chair slightly before he continued on. "We still need to address one thing. What do we do now?"
A pregnant pause overtook the office as both Pietro and Watts glanced at each other before nodding in agreement.
"We could prepare both Penny and Luna for a potential confrontation against Project Alpha should she pose a threat to Atlas." Pietro spoke first before Watts took over.
"Yes… Luna has proven to be an excellent fighter during testing. However, right now she's a bit… unstable right now, we have noticed a sudden spike in her aura levels months ago. I need time to figure out why and ensure that she doesn't go berserk like Alpha did on anyone. As for Penny…" Watts glanced at his colleague who took over.
"I'd say she's combat ready." Pietro lets out a chuckle.
Ironwood could only nod in response. While both men have chosen to make their very own androids, it is Watts that took an even larger inspiration from Project Alpha when making Luna. Even more curious was that some of the coding used in Alpha was used in Luna.
In a way, you could say that they were siblings due to their shared coding history. But that's for another time.
The three men continued their discussion on the matter while somewhere else on Atlas, Winter, the Ace ops and Lucia have just arrived.
Lucia's POV
You know, seeing Atlas in all its glory was an awe-striking sight to see. In fact, I think I might have activated its recording function within my system as I look around the hangar to see all sorts of personnel and technicians walking around. While I didn't express it externally, internally I was thrilled at well… everything! It all looks so cool and futuristic!
While I was admiring the view, my processors also took the time to hack into the Atlas CCTS and learned that the 40th Vytal Festival is coming soonish in a couple of months from now. Good to know that I can prevent the fall of Beacon from happening. As we walked a few steps away from the Bullhead that dropped us. What I didn't expect was for the Ace-ops to suddenly grab onto both my arms and handcuffed me.
"Wait hold up! Guys? What's this for? I didn't do anything wrong did I?" I raised my arms up as the Harriot hummed.
"We received orders to arrest you for questioning by General Ironwood himself. Do cooperate with us Lucia. It would be quicker that way."
[100% chance of breaking free of handcuffs.]
[99% likeliness of force be used from Ace ops and Specialists should any attempts of resistance be made.]
[Recommendation, follow their orders for now.]
Welp. Guess I'll wait then.
I just stared at the handcuffs before letting out a sigh and nodding. "Sure, I'll cooperate with you."
"You made the right decision kiddo." Elm said out as she grabbed onto Benizakura from my hips and took it away.
"Huh, magnetic belt I see." Elm then mumbled with interest.
"Really? Benizakura as well?" I gave a small pout.
"Security protocols demand that any possessions are to be taken away from the suspect before questioning." That was all Winter said as everyone followed her throughout the Academy and if I'm correct, this should lead us directly to Ironwood's office. This is going to be one hell of an awkward meeting when they realised that they bought me into the middle of their academy. Also, it was currently in the weekend and so, no Atlas students were currently present.
Tapping into their server room was surprisingly easy for me, then again, I'm basically a war android with hacking capabilities. But seriously, they really need to work on their cyber security. No wonder Watts was able to hack into it. Though, interestingly enough I doubt anyone could hack me in return as my systems were programmed to reshuffle themselves every minute and a half. I have no idea how that works to be honest. I can imagine a certain fellow from Bethesda going,
It just works~
As all of us were still walking, I tapped into Ironwood's office, and interestingly enough, Pietro and Watts were there. Heck, Watts is wearing white instead of his grey. Wait a minute, if Father trusts both Pietro and Watts, does that mean that they see my face before? Even more clear was that there were more guards in Ironwood's office. He must have expected some sort of confrontation to occur soon.
A couple of seconds passed rather quickly as my system was coming up with all sorts of solutions as to what to do. As expected from an android that was built for fighting, most of the solutions involved either using violence or some sort of intimidation tactic. Both of them would definitely go poorly in the long run.
I could only close my eyes and subtly shake my head as we headed into the elevator which would take us directly to Ironwood.
[Reaching Ironwood's office in 5… 4… 3… 2… 1…]
3rd POV
"What you're saying is that more testing needs to be done to understand Luna's unique conditions that happened months ago?" Ironwood could raise his eyebrow. He aware of the number of experimental enhancements that Project Alpha had which made her dangerous, yet despite everything, Watts is still struggling to replicate the designs of Dr Kurt.
The nanomachines for example, are not self-sufficient and needed time to recharge occasionally compared to Alpha's which are fully sustainable by themselves. Then there's the fact that Luna did not show any signs of sentience until months ago when her aura levels spiked suddenly. This intrigued Watts that had his crew study Luna even more closely than before.
"Yes, General. The fact that it was due to this aura spike that resulted in Luna showing sentience means something. Compared to Pietro who sacrificed his aura to create Penny, Dr Kurt uses an experimental aura generator to create Alpha. However, much to my irritation, we have been unable to get it to the same strength that Alpha possesses. Nevertheless, we shall keep trying."
Ironwood and Pietro nodded at Watts' explanation when the ding could be heard, followed by the elevator doors opening up to show Winter walking in, alongside the Ace ops and a white-haired girl in the middle of the group.
While there was silence as everyone walked in and saluted except for the white-hair girl, and as soon as Winter walked to the side. Both Pietro's and Watt's eyes widened in utter shock. For the girl that stands in front of them is none other than Project Alpha. This didn't go unnoticed as everyone, including Alpha, who were looking at the both of them in confusion.
"Pietro? Watts? Is there something wrong?"
"Alpha?" Both of them asked at the same time as the white hair girl closed her eyes before opening them again, however, compared to before. Her previous lighter expressions became colder and more robotic. As if her emotions were suddenly cut off.
In the blink of an eye, Alpha activated her bullet time before breaking the handcuffs holding her hands together instantly. She then pulled out the mechanical pieces and reattached it to her head, before rolling up her sleeves to elbow length. Lastly, she walked towards Elm and took back Benizakura before placing it against her hips and walking back. Alpha then deactivated her bullet time as everything went to hell very quickly.
Everyone, after a short moment of confusion as to what had happened, immediately draw their weapons and pointed them directly at Alpha, who looked completely nonplussed at everyone pointing their weapons at her.
"Pietro and Watts, it's good to see you both again after 25 years."
"What are you doing here Alpha? Have you come to kill us all?" Ironwood made his statement as he glared at the Ace ops and Winter who looked ashamed at how they had been so easily tricked.
"I did not come seeking you out to kill you all people General Ironwood. If I wanted you all dead, I would have done it already." She deadpanned before glancing around. "I am here for a different reason." Alpha said as she rested her hand on Benizakura.
"And that is Alpha?" Pietro wonders out.
"An explanation. For what I did 25 years ago." Everyone could slightly lower their guns for a second as Watts began walking out to Alpha slowly.
"Watts! Do not get close to her!" Ironwood ordered Watts, though it was ignored by him.
"Then care tell us what happened on that day itself? Why did you kill so many innocent people? So many of Dr Kurt's colleagues?" Watts questioned as Alpha looked guilty and looked away.
"Because my father programmed me to do it."
"Father?"
Everyone was confused as to what Alpha meant but it was then that Pietro spoke next. "Do you mean Dr Kurt?"
"Yes." She nodded. "Father gave a program that after a week of his death or disappearance that I am to kill everyone in the facility. He discovered that everyone except Pietro and Watts were working on a loyalty code that was meant for me, all while behind his back. And that's not what he wanted for me. He was wrecked by guilt for sending so many of his colleagues to their death to protect me. So am I." Alpha explained as she rested her hand on her chest.
"I have only recently awakened with most of my memories either wiped or corrupted, and with one objective given by him. To protect Remnant from any present and future threats." A short sigh could be heard emerging from her. "I completely and utterly understand if you do not trust my word. I doubt any of you would. After what I did that day."
The whole room was completely silent with shock. How could they not? They just learned that it was not Alpha that killed everyone on her own decision 25 years ago. It was Dr Kurt's doing. He was the one who ordered her to wipe out everyone. Yet… Loyalty code?
"You really wish us to believe you? That you won't just kill us all once our backs are turned? And what's this loyalty code you speak of? Why haven't I heard of it?" Ironwood asked with one of his guns still drawn and pointed directly for Alpha's head. It's all completely absurd. What is this Loyalty code she is talking about?
"It is understandable that you haven't heard about it. After everyone in the facility was killed by me, I made the procedure to wipe the code in the facility from existence. If the code is installed onto my systems, it will permanently remove my sapience and free will. This is not what father wished to happen to me me. To be enslaved by anyone and lose my free will. I hope you understand." Alpha just gazed down, right before she looked directly at both Watts and Pietro.
"Pietro, Watts. Father has one last message for the both of you." Alpha says as she froze for a second or two right as a very familiar voice could be heard coming out of her. Though her mouth is not moving.
"To Pietro and Watts. If you're hearing this, then I am long dead and you have met Lucia. My daughter. Please, do not blame her for what had happened 25 years ago. I will take full responsibility for I was the one who programmed her to kill everyone." Gasps of shock could be heard from everyone as Dr Kurt could be heard speaking as he choked at the end.
"Please, give her a chance to prove herself to you. When she first showed signs of sentience all those years ago, I knew what I made here would change the face of Remnant. She is not just a programme anymore. Nor a simple machine that you can order it to do as you please. She is alive. A being with a soul and can make her own choices. I would understand your hesitance to trust her after she killed everyone back in the facility. But please…" Dr Kurt begged.
"Hear Alpha out and watch over her. And if Ironwood so happens to be listening to this as well, please, hear me. Just like old times with General Gerard Friedlich. Trust me and help Alpha grow and develop as an individual. The strength she has would be better used to help Remnant repel the Grimm instead of seeing her decommission over my sins." There was a pause before Dr Kurt could be heard again.
"Watts. Pietro. As my last orders to the both of you, I put you in charge watching over Lucia Alpha. Her fate is in your hands now. That is all."
With an audible click coming from Alpha, she began moving again as she looked around before she kneeled down. "As what my father had said, my life is in your hands Pietro and Watts." She closed her eyes as she awaited her fate as everyone just stared at her with shock from what they had heard so far.
Everyone then watched as Pietro who catches up to Watts. "Do we accept her?" Watts wondered out.
"It feels nice to hear Dr Kurt again, after all those years ago…" Pietro mumbled out as Watts just nodded his head.
"Yes. It does feel nice to hear from him again."
Both scientists could only look at each other before nodding to each other. They know what must be done. Both Pietro and Watts then turned to face Ironwood who looked conflicted at the whole matter.
"General Ironwood, we request permission to take Alpha under our care." Pietro spoke to Ironwood as he looked thoughtful about it.
Ironwood let out a sigh with closed eyes before bringing his gun down. "Everyone. Stand down." Ironwood then began walking past both Pietro and Watts who both gave way for him. He then walked towards Alpha with his arm behind his back. Yet she still didn't move at all. Still kneeling and awaiting her fate.
"Project Alpha. No…" Ironwood shook his head before speaking again. "Lucia Alpha. Under normal circumstances, I would have had you decommissioned for what you did 25 years ago. However, after taking your testimony and Dr Kurt's final words into consideration, you will now be placed under Pietro Polendina and Arthur Watts. I'm putting my faith in what your father had said. Do not make me regret it."
Ironwood finally got a response as Lucia looked up at him as her eyes shining with hope. She then stood up and gave her own military salute back at Ironwood. "Orders understood, general."
Both scientists then walked up to Lucia who gave a small smile. "I will under your care, Pietro and Watts. It will be a pleasure to work with the people who played a major part in my creation."
"I believe we could say the same Lucia. Let us work together." Pietro shook Lucia's hand. "But first, I believe you need to meet up with our own creations. Penny and Luna. I believe you would like them."
"Penny …and …Luna?" For the first time since ever, both Watts and Pietro had witness Lucia giving an incredibly baffled look in her face.
And we are done with chapter 2. So whatcha think about it? Is it good? I hope it is! Anyways, I want to talk a bit about the story itself, as you can no doubt tell this is technically an AU story thanks to the fact that Watts is not a bad guy and he too made his own android. I'm sure some of you can tell who she is.
As some of you can tell, I have integrated some of Lucia Alpha's abilities from the game as well as the bullet time system from timed dodging. As you can tell, shit's broken yo but that's intended.
Oh yeah, next chapter when I work on it will introduce Lucia to Luna and Penny! Time for 3 androids to get along in the next chapter! Oh yeah, now in PNG, its time to see if I can get Luna I suppose. She smol.
Besides that, I don't really have much to say either than a request for you to follow and favourite me if you enjoy this story as I did writing it! Do also leave a review of what you think of this chapter as I enjoy reading it and giving replies to it!
And with that, I'll see your wonderful people in the next chapter!
RGQC out!
