Chapter 10: The Great Escape
Later that night, Yusei was getting his duel runner ready. Everyone but Akiza and Rally was there to see him off.
"Are you sure you have everything? Fuel, helmet…"
"What are you, his mom? He'll be fine!"
"What, I'm just making sure!"
Nervin glanced around the tunnel, noticing that their friends were missing.
"Hey, where's Akiza? Shouldn't she be getting ready too?"
Yusei shook his head.
"We decided that it's best that she stay in Satellite for now to keep the peace. After all…"
"Oh, yeah."
"He hasn't left yet, has he?"
Suddenly, Akiza and Rally came running down the stairs, stopping right in front of Yusei.
"Akiza, Rally? What're you doing?"
"You didn't think I'd let you leave without a goodbye kiss, did you?"
"Besides, I wanted to give you a good luck charm!"
Rally handed a card out to Yusei, which he accepted.
"Turbo Booster? But isn't this your favorite card?"
"Yeah, and it's alway brought me good luck. Hopefully, it'll do the same for you."
"And don't forget me!"
When Yusei saw what card Akiza was giving him, his jaw dropped in shock.
"Black Rose Dragon? Are you sure?"
Akiza nodded, and gave him a kiss.
"Make Jack pay."
Yusei nodded, then checked the clock.
"Go time."
Yusei lowered the visor on his helmet and sped off towards the waste treatment center, Akiza watching as he disappeared down the tunnel.
"Be careful, Yusei."
"Come on, Nervin hacked into the security cameras so that we can watch his progresss!"
The quintet watched as Yusei made his way to the pipeline, only to get stopped by Trudge. Trying to outspeed him didn't work, as Trudge managed to force Yusei's duel runner into duel mode, meaning the only way out was to beat him in a duel.
Unfortunately, Yusei didn't get off to a good start. Immediately, Trudge stopped him from gaining speed counters with his Gate Blocker, and even after Yusei managed to destroy it with help from Rally's Turbo Booster he just replaced it with two more. Then to make matters worse Trudge summoned Goyo Guardian and managed to steal Yusei's Junk Warrior.
"Come on Yusei, you can do it!"
"He only has a few minutes left!"
Luckily, Yusei managed to turn it around with Nitro Warrior, defeating Trudge and allowing him to continue. But as he neared the end of the tunnel, his exit point began to close and trash began to flow in. Gritting his teeth, Yusei skidded his duel runner, getting so close to the ground he nearly fell off. Luckily, this gave him just enough room to squeeze through, leaving Trudge to be buried by trash. Once the feed was cut, Yusei's friends cheere in excitement.
"He did it! He made it to New Domino City!"
"Nothing can stop him now!"
Akiza was happy as well, but deep down she couldn't help but worry.
"Stay safe, Yusei."
After the excitement of their successful mission had died down, everyone went to bed. It had been a long day, and they were exhausted. And even the rock hard mattress felt luxurious after everything they had gone through to make sure Yusei got to New Domino City.
But Akiza was soon woken up by a searing pain in her arm. At first she tried to ignore it, but it persisted until her whole arm felt like it was on fire.
Unable to ignore the pain any longer, Akiza sat up right and examined her arm. To her shock, a glowing red birthmark was etched into it. It looked like the foot of a dragon.
"What? Since when did I have a tattoo?"
Akiza didn't understand why, but she got the feeling that Yusei was in trouble.
Indeed, Yusei was in quite the pickle. After reaching the city, he was greeted by his old "friend" Jack, who was as arrogant as ever. Deciding to get some payback, Yusei challenged him to a duel with Stardust Dragon.
Things were not going so well for him. He had managed to take control of Stardust, but right now he had no way to get over Red Dragon Archfiend's 3000 attack points.
"Give up, Yuseii! We both know you're just a one trick pony! If you surrender now, I might just be willing to give you a headstart before I call Sector Security!"
"Fat chance, Jack! I told you I would make you pay, and that's exactly what I intend to do."
What Jack didn't know was that Yusei had everything he needed to win the duel. With a little help from Akiza, of course.
"I'll start by setting a card face down. But it won't be there for long, because by sending it to the graveyard I can special summon Card Breaker (100/900)!"
"You have got to be kidding! That monster is far too puny to stand a chance."
"'Then it's a good thing the card I sent to the graveyard was my Limiter Overload! When its sent to the graveyard, I get to summon Speed Warrior (900/400) from my graveyard. Next, I summon Junk Synchron (1300/500) in attack mode!"
"You're bluffing! I know for a fact you don't have any level 7 Synchro monsters aside from Nitro Warrior!"
"Are you sure about that? I tune my level 3 Junk Synchron with my level 2 Card Breaker and my level 2 Speed Warrior to synchro summon Black Rose Dragon!"
Jack's eyes went wide.
"What? How did you get that card?"
"Because I have an awesome girlfriend, that's how. And based on your expression, I take it you know what's coming next. But instead, I'll activate Stardust Dragon's effect to-"
But he got no further as an unbearable pain. Looking down, he noticed a birthmark in the shape of a Dragon's tail now adorned his arm.
"What? SInce when was that there?"'
"Hurry up Yusei, so I can- GWAH!"
Suddenly, his own mark of a pair of wings began to burn as well, and the dragons seemed to be calling to each other. Then, before either of them could do anything else, a huge, crimson dragon emerged onto the field, roaring loudly, much to their mutual shock.
"What is that thing?"
"I-I don't know!"
Then, just as suddenly as it had appeared, the dragon vanished, as did the cards on the field. Jack and Yusei, too stunned to continue dueling, brought their duel runners to a stop, their mars still glowing.
"Jack, what was that?"
But Jack was too stunned to answer.
"Answer me, Jack! What's going on?'
Before Jack could respond, searchlights flooded the area, blinding the two as Sector Security approached
"Yusei Fudo, you are under arrest for illegal entry into New Domino City. Do not try to run, we have you surrounded!
A/N: Sorry that I skipped both duels, but aside from the end they were essentially the same and it felt like a waste of time to just write the same thing that happened in canon. Don't worry, we will focus on duels that don't feature Akiza soon,
