Medicine Melancholy had been following a small trail of dolls that had been gathering flowers and other resources.
After she had been kicked out of Eientei for aiding Tewi with her latest prank, she had nowhere left to go and was just wandering around aimlessly. As much as she wanted to head to the nameless hill and rest there, she wouldn't have any protection from the upcoming storm if she stayed there. Lucky for her, she had stumbled across a small entourage of dolls heading into a nearby house. The place seemed empty save for several dolls doing some chores and keeping an eye out for intruders.
Silently, Medicine crept up behind one of the guarding dolls and promptly grabbed it. She still believed in doll liberation though after several failed attempts, she was beginning to question if the dolls could really understand her. Most of the time, the dolls she captured or tried to "liberate" ended up returning to their original task or remained motionless. Additionally, while she did try destroying their masters, she was either brutally defeated or unsuccessful of her goal as the dolls stopped moving and remained inanimate.
Once again, her attempts to convince the doll to join her were in vain as the little being poked her until she released it and went back to guarding the house. She tried several more times before finally giving up and leaving to meet Eirin. Though she had been kicked out, it didn't hurt to try convincing Eirin to let her back in again.
Yuuka and the trio of magicians were sitting under one of Yuuka's large flowers. Apparently, someone had broken into Yuuka's home and caused quite a bit of damage. A few chairs were broken, the sink was clogged, and the beds were decomposing in each room. Additionally, the entire place reeked of poison. Had it not been for Marisa' high poison tolerance and Yuuka's newly acquired gas masks, the entire party would have been knocked out until Eirin came over.
"Woah! Who in the world would do this?" asked Marisa. "They have to be crazy to break into the most dangerous youkai's home. Besides, why would they even do such a thing?"
Patchouli was equally puzzled though she was more concerned over Yuuka's friends and helpers. Though many of Yuuka's helpers were fairies, some of them were not and due to the forgetful nature of fairies, they had unintentionally caused more damage by spreading the poison even further. Currently, she managed to contain most of it and purify a few fairies but the damage was way too much for her. Even with Wriggle Nightbug, Eternity Larvae, and Lily White's aid, the damage was still too much and it soon became clear that none of them could stay at Yuuka's house until the poison had been removed.
"You know Yuuka, things would be much easier to fix if you didn't make everything, including your beds out of living flowers and plants," commented Marisa as she helped remove a rotten bed. "Side's, why do you have so many? Who even sleeps in them?"
"The fairies do and another comment like that, you'll soon wish you were one," answered Yuuka.
Marisa gulped and continued working. Meanwhile, Alice was cleaning up the remnants of broken dolls off of Yuuka's floor.
"Yuuka, my dolls don't break in this manner. Even after they explode, they're usually fine since they're only creating a blast without destroying themselves so what happened here?"
"Oh yes. The culprit tried to steal these dolls and I managed to catch a small glimpse of her running. She's also the one who brought the poison into my home," answered Yuuka.
"So she broke my dolls?" asked Alice.
"Actually, that was me," replied Yuuka. "I tried to get her to let go of the poor critters but she absolutely refused so I used some danmaku to try getting her to let them go. Except, my aim was off and I ended up hitting all the dolls instead."
Alice sighed and went back to picking the mess.
"I'll get you some new dolls but if they end up being damaged for something like this again, I will have to charge you."
