I love Poppy Playtime, don't get me wrong but I felt really sad we were not able to see or experience with all the Smiling Critter like I or possibly others expected too. So I'm going to create a story that would go by Chapter 3 but adding that the Smiling Critters DID survive or…. Barely a survival expectation. If i get anything wrong like names or things like the children's names, please correct me!
Note: this story would form to anyone! You, the reader, are the main character and I hope you are mentally prepared for what you will experience. I do not own any of the characters nor details mention inside this story. All this from the originally game but was told differently with characters we desperately want to meet.
Now that is settled, that we begin!
Everything seems foggy and vague as you fall in and out of consciousness. Your body was aching but was cloaked into something soft, warm and… purring? When you were able to open your eyes, you saw large, purple claws stepping right under you and you realized something was carrying you. You did not know how to react, but your instincts told you to play dead as you were being carried to who knows where.
You were not able to process where you were exactly, except the fact you were in an extremely dim lit room. It was so pitch dark, you could not correctly determine how far off the ground you are, but you can tell this creature was tall and possibly carrying you in its mouth. This does not seem like one of the huggy wuggy you had encountered many times before but seems different and unrecognizable. Was this a toy you never saw in the factory before? Then again, you never went this far past the Play Care and the dark truth of this place reopened memories you thought were innocent and helpful for children across the world. Now it's twisted and you have awakened to a nightmare wanting to know what happened to all your coworkers years ago. If you had the recollection knowing what you had left behind, you would have not walked through those doors in the first place. But here you are, trapped in the jaws of a creature with no teeth, carrying you over what seems like a grate of some sort, in a corner.
Slowly, you watched the creature reach its claw across and easily pry it open. Next second, you feel yourself being plump down into the hole, like a tube slide to the unknown down below. But you honestly felt something turn you before letting you go as you were able to face the creature after all. The only thing that burned inside your mind as you fell was large pools of black of white rings and a huge gaping mouth grin. As if it was watching a terror leaving from your eyes.
As soon as you fell, the creature was quickly out of sight and smacked into solid ground. The ringing noise and flashing red lights had finally kicked your survival instincts as you quickly scrambled onto your feet. Oh dear, you knew exactly where you are now, one of the trash compressors. This was not looking good for you and you need to find an escape, fast! Luckily, you know the mechanics of this machine and know an emergency escape in these tight situations or occasional accidents.
After some moment of strategizing and using some of the garbage to use for advantage, you were able to find a flaw or a gap you can easily slip through in between the walls. But you are not quite safe yet, for there is another way to get out this tight crevice of a death trap. Right above you was a bar that was way up high, so high that no normal employee could never reach, unless they had a grab pack. Fortunately, you still have yours, and one push of its button, it's a miracle that it still works. One of its hands lunged upwards and was able to grip the bar with one shot and you were able to zip right into an vent where you can take a moment to rest and recompose your thoughts now.
"Where is Poppy?" you finally asked yourself, as you lean agents the vent walls as the pain in your body was now catching up to you. You vaguely remember the lively doll apologizing to you, but everything seems fuzzy after the train went out of control. Did Poppy crash the train? No, she would not try to risk her own life if she was meant to kill you. But she was apologizing about something about dragging you down here, but how? She has been locked in that case and she could not possibly send that letter? Someone else must have and you desperately wanted answers. You came so far, yet with every mile you make or a bit of process you made, that path never seems to end and more and more things started to surface of a company you once worked at that was dark and twisted all this time. Did your coworkers know about this? Or were they unaware of all the testing, experimenting and possibly torture on these poor, innocent children went through. Giving you more unanswerable questions even more than ever. Now here you are, the possible last obstacle you needed to hurdle through to get your answers, hopefully.
Once you felt it was suitable to continue on your journey, you managed to get up and move forward. You need to find Poppy. Even if she was okay or not, you need to know. But then again, where exactly?
As you try to figure that yourself, you peek out to find giant drum-like barrels pumping up and down like a teeter totter. This gave you an idea and could possibly help navigate out better than being grounded. So you took that leap of fate and hopped to one of them lower to your side, giving out a loud bong sound. It almost made your heart stop, hoping it was not loud enough to attract unwanted attention. As the sound started to fade away, you were lifted up into the air on the next level. Now you are able to see everything around you more clearly than ever before. You look to your left and see nothing but a dead end but on your right seems potential and an opening that leads to somewhere else. With a deep breath, you made that leap once again to the next drum, but this time, you plan to be a little lighter and careful then before as you reach for the next one after. Once you reach the opening, you find your intuition was right and continue down this path until you come to another area that seems more broken down and left to rot through the years. But something was odd about this room, as you came up to the end of the railing and peered over to see a strange, red fog substance hovering so close to your feet. Is this some type of gas? You thought to yourself, not wanting to take a risk breathing that stuff in, for it might be poison. But what gas do you know that has a red tent like this? Then again, you do not want to linger too long either to find out. Maybe Poppy would know and you could possibly ask her when you do have a chance.
With smart thinking on your side, you ripped part of your clothing to make a type of facial mask so you would protect your breathing pathways, just in case. Yeah, the fabric you have on may not be suitable or could not possibly protect you either, but it was worth a shot then being safe than sorry. Once you were all set, you were ready to move forward. Leaping and jumping from platform to platform over open gaps of red gas below. You do not know how deep the drop is, but you swore you saw toys of bodies down there beneath the mist. But when you took a double take, you could not tell if your eyes were playing tricks on you. As a matter of fact, you were getting a bit light headed and could feel yourself getting off balance for a second there, so it's not best to investigate it any further. The gas seems to be messing with your mind or it's possible the paranoia you are feeling about this whole place. Either way, you have one goal: to get out alive as soon as possible.
After going through some maze-like obstacles, you saw something slither in front of you up the wall far in the distance. It was long and wiggly, but you did not have a chance to get a good look at it. All you saw was a dark hue of purple. Hopefully, it did not notice you but part of you was curious to see it, that you just had to follow it. Maybe it could help you? Like that Kissy Missy you ran into one time. Maybe one of those long leg spiders. That would be a nice ally to have, you thought.
Once you got close to the area and looked up, you found that the creature was gone. Dang, they were fast, you thought as you looked before you and saw a vent that had a hint of fresh air coming from the other side. With no hesitation, you crawl on all fours in the tight space, shocked that the grab pack even was able to fit alongside you as you slowly made your way through to the end.
As you pulled yourself out of the vent, you were now in another area. But far different yet somewhat familiar. It was one of those break rooms you would occasionally visit throughout the factory. It looked like any other, besides the fact it was in disarray and abandoned, but you felt some sort of safety and ease in this room. For now.
You glance around the room and notice a vending machine in a corner. That's when your stomach started to rumble. Then it occured to you, when was the last time you ate? What time is it? What day is it? How long have you been here?
These questions start to form in your head as you realize, you have no sense of time while you're in this place. As your mind starts to rumble, so does your stomach.
Your eyes torted back to the vending machine and approach it, you start to think about how its contents look appealing and could help sate your hunger. As you reach the vending machine, disappointment and dissatisfaction become clear as you see its contents. "Oh no," you grow with disappointment in your voice as you look upon the happily, smiling, leaf eating dinosaur bag of chips. The worst chips that the company has ever made in history. You have tried better chips than these but this stuff puts a dry, tastless feeling in your mouth that you have ever consumed in your life. Then again, maybe your memory was not correct, for you are desperately hungry.
You sigh as you examine the machine. Clearly it has power still, but you were not properly equipped with the money that was needed to obtain the food inside. So you take drastic measures into your hands by searching for some tools to use to break into the machine. It did not take much effort, for you saw some sharp spikes sticking out with toys that were impaled. That was a bit… unsettling. But you try to brush it off, for they were just toys, right? You try to convince yourself as you broke one of the spikes out and about to stab the machine.
Whoa! Hold it! You almost forgot to unplug the thing. Don't want to get electrocuted. With that settled, you resume what you were doing, making a loud CRACK sound. You froze and quietly listened before continuing to assure you are safe to proceed. After some mighty effort, you managed to break into the machine and reach into it for one of the bags.
You examine it in your hand for a moment before opening it, getting an unscented wiff. It did not smell bad as you reached in to get a hold of one of the leaf shaped chips. It felt hard to the touch and hesitantly placed it in your mouth to bite it. Your face contorts because of how you remember when you first tried it, and it still tastes just as disgusting as it did in the past. But despite everything, you keep eating it, even though some get stuck between your molars.
As you uneasily chew your food, you hear a ringing sound coming from the other room. Your attention was drawn to it as you crept to the source. Becoming louder and louder when you come near it. It was a phone! Quickly, you went for it without thinking. Hoping it's a call from the outside world, then again, you are always proven wrong.
The moment you pick up the phone and hold it to your ear, you hear a small voice on the other side.
"Hey hey, can you hear me?" Said the voice, "You look kind of lost."
You froze as you glanced around the room, seeing if someone was watching you as the voice continued to speak to you.
"I don't want you to die- so I'm gonna help you!"
"Help me in exactly how?" you asked, questioning the voice on the other line. It almost sounds like a child.
"Check this out!" Said the voice, as it sounded confident and excited. "Look at the tube thing on the back wall."
You turned around to see what the caller was talking about and saw this pipe it was referring to.
"Ready?" The voice asked when suddenly, there was this rumbling thing trailing down and something fell at the end of it. "BUH-BOOM! You can use that battery to open the door!"
You were taken aback and lowered the phone to your side as you approached the object. It was what the voice said.
"Who are you?" You asked, returning the phone to your ear and looking around the room.
"My name is Ollie!" said the voice, "But I have no time to explain, you need to get out of that room fast. I have others waiting for you on the other side who need your help."
"Wait, hold on!" You said before the call ended. Leaving you dumbfounded. Who was that kid and what did he mean 'others'.
Welp, here we go again as you fall into another rabbit hole and on another errand run while at it. You pick up the battery, find it really heavy as you carry it to the power box. You struggle to pick it up and place it in to hear a loud click on the door. As you open the door, you feel a blazing heat of smoke and fire before you.
"Hey, I remember you," said a deep, dumpy voice. "You should've never come back."
