No moon shone over the tall stone walls of the twolegplace, a thick stench of twolegs and the thunderpath was heavy on the city. Dark shadows diving into different hiding spots as the glow of the monsters' eyes gleamed from the darkness. The sound of their large shapes roaring over the black stones and into the distance in unsurpassed speed, and deep in the nearby forest a dark brown tabby tom sat crouched over the edge before jumping back.

The tom looked back over his shoulder, the dark silhouettes of his clanmates barely visible through the undergrowth. Before he crossed the thunderpath out of the woods and into the twolegplace nearby, the rest of his clan following only stopping to let a monster or two past as the others waited on the edge of the path on the opposite side. the tabby counting each cat as they came, his fur bristling with each passing beast.

One cat, a pale ginger she-cat, was limping behind the other battle worn cats. When there was a sharp screech, and the fast approaching lights of a monster quickly lit the she-cat up as she froze before frantically trying to dart to the opposite side. She made it alive, but with a terrible wound on her hind leg as she flopped from the wound on her front legs. Howling in pain as the other cats rushed to pull her up to safety.

The dark brown tabby tom bounded over to the she-cat's side, as he helped the other cats wash her pelt as a large pale gray tom came rushing over with herbs and cobwebs in his mouth to put over and bandage the wound. "It's alright Sandygorse, you are safe now." The dark brown tabby tom reassured as he licked behind her ears before the others were helping her up to continue forward, the she-cat unfortunately unable to stand on her own.

A russet colored she-cat came up to his side. "Safe?" she quarried with a low snarl but she kept her head bowed respectfully. "We haven't been safe since we left camp, since the other clans have been destroyed by those beasts. How could we possibly be safe now?" She questioned with a look back at the other warriors. Many of whom were out of breath and some laying on the ground to catch it while they could.

"We can't go home, I had to make this decision for our sake… StarClan will guide us to our home." The tom persisted as he turned his head to look at the she-cat with a somber and distant look. "For now we must follow their guidance, signs of their making to help us along until we are in the safety of a camp again." He licked the she-cat's shoulder, before he raised his tail and all the other cats followed his lead deeper into the twolegplace.

...

Before the sun even has risen fully from the horizon, a group of cats gathered in a dark alleyway of the twolegplace. A brown tom picked at the dead remains of a rat, his stomach ached as a white tom about his same age; yet thinner and more hungry, tried to steal his prey away frm him. "Hey, let go!" he cried out, grabbing onto the other end to fight back.

"You had your pickings already, let someone who hasn't yet eaten today get a try!" the white tom snarled as he yanked harder, unsheathing his claws to dig into the ground to gain some standing. "I worked hard to get this yesterday, so I got the rest of the meal all for myself! You all have had your fill already."

"I said, let go Ice!" the brown tom growled, eventually freeing the practically bare rat from his grasp, settling back down with a proud grin on his face. "If you want this sooo bad, how about you go catch it yourself then? I am sure Shred would be happy to let a poor and hungry Scar Ganger like yourself hunt on his gang's territory."

"You idiot, we all need our strength as much as the other." the white tom growled before pouncing on the brown one. "I had worked hard enough to bring this back to us, stealing prey from the lowlifes; it is not easy and you know that. Now hand it over!" the white tom sunk his claws deep into his gangmate's back.

"Get off of me!"

"Not until you give it back!"

"Never!"

A large yowl caught their attention, as their gazes looked up to greet the approaching shadow. Eyes switching from confusion to fear as the shadow got bigger and bigger, raising a paw with talons unsheathed high up into the air to send both toms scurrying for shelter.

A cold blue moon shone overhead as the lights went out in the twolegplace, entrances slamming shut and glasses being shuttered to hide those inside. As the streets went cold on this lonely night, cats in the streets ran into darkness at the sight of a large furry shadow creeping over the sidewalk. As a long and tall she-cat slipped down the ledges onto a window sill to peer inside.

From the safety of the kitchen inside, one blue and one amber eye could be seen briefly. Before the she-cat moved on hurriedly, long tail whisking back and forth behind her. A low rumbling growl escaping from her throat as her ears flattened, another wasteful night it seems to be. Her large paws extended sharp massive claws that dug into the edge of the sill before leaping across.

"Oh sure, mock me all you want." The she-cat mumbled looking to her right off the side of the building, and into the starry night that seemed to gleam when she spoke. "I am out here doing your work as you have commanded, and you wouldn't even so much as give me a hint in my search. Really helpful all of you, really helpful. All wise and knowing, my tai-... Okay, okay I'm going!" the she-cat hissed as she jumped forward slightly, looking back as if something had swiped at her tail.

Onto another edge looking in through the glass, a small ginger she-cat lay in her nest all curled up. The bright green color caught the she-cat's eye, before her ear flicked and then flattened as the massive pale brown cat cuffed the ground agitated. "Come on now, I know you can't make things too easy, but just give me a good hint for once in your… how should i put it, afterlife?"

A gust of wind answered her this time, as the she-cat nearly went scuttling off the edge of her perch. "Alright, alright... so you do more than just sit around." The she-cat hissed over her shoulder before turning back to leaver the sill. "Just nothing that helps me is all." She muttered under her breath with another glare backwards. Her strong legs carrying her to the next building rather swiftly, before she leaped down to the sidewalk to continue on.

Silence once again greeted the she-cat, but still her ear twitched. "Nothing, nothing at all." She answered no-one as she continued her search, before stretching out sleepily and turning. "I cannot do this all night, you all know that." She growled looking up at the night sky before bounding back the way she came, her feet carrying her swiftly across the hard stone surface.
