"… I like you, would you please go out with me!" the young man lowered his head, and exclaimed his love.
The person in front of the young man stays quiet. The room that they are in fall silent. The young man's heart kept on thumping, and thumping. He wonder if the one he confessed to could hear his beating heart right now. Honestly, it's weird. This is the first person to make the young man heart act this way.
It was when the young man was injured from his way out of the bamboo forest. A snake has bitten his ankles, venom has seeped into his bloodstream. Luckily, he was saved by a walking apothecary. She brought the young man back to her home, and he was treated by the doctor there. After a thousand thanks to the doctor and the apothecary (who wears bunny ears), the young man decide to make his leave. But, before he could do so, he saw a figure in one of the rooms. Curios, the young man decide to look into the room and see the back of the figure, sitting down. The figure has long, silky black hair that reaches her back. The young man unable to make out her figure except for her hair. He worries that he has been staring too long. As to not be labeled a creep, the young man slowly and quietly try to make his leave. Unfortunately, lady luck was not at his side, as the young man fumbled and tumbles to the ground. He quickly gets up, hoping that the person didn't notice of his action. He turns his head to check the figure and then, their eyes met. The young man and the girl stare at each other for a few seconds, before the doctor came in to break the silence.
"There was a loud thump. Is there anything wrong?" the doctor asked. The young man sheepishly said that he only fell and said that he is fine. The doctor sighs and remind him to take care of his body more. The young man embarrassedly laugh and he glance at the girl to see she gives a small smile. Seeing that made the young man heart thumping loudly. The sight of the girl smiling, the young man could watch that all day. The young man wanted to get to know the girl, but he knows, that today is the only time that he'll have this chance. To meet with the girl. He need a more concrete way of meeting the girl. More chances to see her. Then, the doctor starts to turn away and that gives the man an idea. Before the doctor leaves, the young man clasps her hands, and ask one thing,
"Would you mind making me your apprentice?" The doctor look at the young man, confused. She asked him the reason as to why he wants to study medicine. "It's because I want to help people just like how you help me," the young man lied. He lied on his reason as to why he wishes to learn. He only has his eyes on the girl inside the room. But this is a necessary lie. As this is the only way for he to learn more about the girl. The doctor sees that there's no reason for her to turn the man down and she now took him under her wings. The young man thanked the doctor again: for giving him a chance, to get closer to the girl.
And so, the young man comes back and forth to the girl's residence, Eientei. Despite his intention originally were to only know the girl, he diligently learn the tricks of medicine from the doctor. He also help the peddler to sell the medicine that the doctor created. The doctor's medicine is the work of miracles. The young man sees it before his eyes that the doctor's medicine is the real deal. That is to say, it works every time. The young man has now profound respect for the doctor and the peddler for the help they have given to the Human Village.
Now, as for the girl, she is wonderful. The time that the young man spends with the girl was priceless. Her dainty figure, her graceful air, her perfect looks that rivals any girls from the Human Village. There is no one that can compare to her. The way that she smiles as bright as the sun, the way she articulates her words logically, the way she laughs, her smell. Her everything. The young man wonders, what it would feel like if he managed to hold her in his arms. How her warmth would feel like. The relationship that they have now is now turns to friend. He can't see her as only a friend anymore. The young man has turn greedy. He wants more. He gather his courage, and laid it bare to the girl,
And now, we're at the beginning. The person in front of the man remain silent. The silent overwhelms the young man. After the confession, the highs dies down. Multiple scenes play out in his head. Where he succeed, he fails, he wasn't acknowledge. His mouth has now turn dry, yet his body sweats. Now, he curse himself. Why does he break the status quo? Why can't he just stay friends with the girl? Why can't he just held it all in, rather than be greedy? Why doesn't he confirm the girl's feelings before he confessed? Before more and more thoughts could emerge from his mind, the girl
"Fufufu," she giggles. The loveable laugh that she always give to him, laughing whenever he made a stupid joke or remarks. Whenever she finds something that is hilarious to her. Her laugh that could thaw even the coldest of heart. Yes, the one that he confessed to is none other than,
Princess Kaguya.
"I'm flatter that you think of that of me," the princess speaks. The young man head (still) hangs low. He doesn't know what the princess looks like right now. Is she happy? Angry? Disappointed? Indifference? The young man is scared to know, "I would like to give an answer to your confession. But before, I would like to ask: What part of me do you like?" the princess asks.
What part of her? Is she testing the young man? Without raising his head, he spills everything. The young man says on how beautiful her figure is, how elegance she is on everything she does, how when she smiles, it calms you down, when she laughs, you feel a sense of accomplishment, she's to you, a bright light: a bright princess. Without her, you are blind, blind by the world. The young man drones on and on about what he likes about the princess. Even to the point where it became too much. The princess stops the young man before he embarrassed himself more.
"Thank you," the princess _, "I would like to say, I adore you for saying all this," the princess stops for a few seconds before continuing, "I'm sorry. But I don't see you in that way," the princess answers the young man question.
Ah. Rejection. The young man, in all his life, never have he fallen in love. Never have he been confessed to by anyone. And when he gathers his courage, he was rejected. It hurts. He feel that everything he has done, there's no meaning to it. He curse the young him, for even going through with this. Why? The young man raised his head,
"Why?"
"Hm?" the princess hum.
"I don't understand. Why? Would you please tell me. Why?"
"…" the princess looks at the pitiful man, "If you can't see it yourself, then there is no point for me to explain it," the princess answers. Then, the princess leaves the room, leaving the young man alone.
The young man stood there. He remembers back to the time where he spend time with the princess. The fun, sad, angry, times that they spend together. He kept on remembering, every little details of her. On how she likes to write poetry, on how she has the most beautiful calligraphy hand writing that you ever seen, on how she loves her pet bunny equally. Ah, yes. How beautiful. How bitter. For any other man, this is the point for when one gives up. However, that is different for the young man. Instead of giving up, the young man stays on course. He will undoubtedly made the princess fall for him.
And the princess knows that too.
This is not the first time that a man has courted her in hand for marriage. A lot of the high-profile individual has tried to wed her for her unparalleled beauty. She would ask the suitor unreasonable demands for them to fulfill, and none would be able to do so. And the young man is no different. For the past month, the young man didn't give up. He brings her gifts: flowers, food, jewelry, all were shot down by the princess. The young man learn on what the princess likes and dislikes, and employ it to his tactics. The princess can see how similar every man that laid before act. Be it young, old, rich, and poor. They act the same. They would try with every fiber of their body to please her. Oh, how sinful you are, princess.
"Shouldn't you stop him by now, princess?" the doctor asks. After the umpteenth time that young man came, the doctor finally had enough.
"It's not my fault, Eirin, that guy was the one who wishes to do so. I stated my intention clearly from the start. Besides, I return back all of his gifts, except for the food of course," the princess replies. She is right. She has been very cleared from the beginning. It's the young man at fault for pushing through with it.
"Maybe you should try to avoid him?" the doctor suggests. The princess irate.
"Why should I be the one to hide on my own home? I've already been secluded to this building and now I have to play hide-and-seek with someone who I expressively says no to?"
"…my apologies, princess," the doctor continues her work. Why should she be the one to run? This is her home. She shouldn't need a need to hide. Besides, she doesn't really want the young man to stop. She finds it amusing on how adamant the young man is of her. It gave her a sense of pride. Well, it's obvious that anyone who laid their eyes on the princess would be awe-struck, but around this era, the man here are more passive, only stealing glances and never taken the action to strike. It is refreshing to see someone willingly court the princess like that. She won't say that she HATED the idea of marriage. But, she can't accept him. Not right now. It would make the princess look cheap. And the princess is a price worthy as the moon itself. It's only fair, for the man to try a bit longer. As long as he needs to reach the moon.
The next day, the young man arrive again. He will do the usual greeting and praise on how beautiful the princess are and another proposal. No girl in the world would hate being called beautiful. Now, let's get on with it. Another day, another rejection.
"Oh, hello there, Princess Kaguya," the young man greets the princess and walk to where the doctor is.
"… huh?" the princess, who was waiting for more, was confused. That is strange. Usually the young man would praise the princess to high heavens. But today, it was only a greeting. What does this mean? Has the young man given up on the princess? No, that's impossible. She is THE princess. The one who turns the many heads of man. Maybe the young man wasn't feeling well today? Or maybe, he was feeling a bit shy? The princess tries to assured herself that the young man still have feelings for her, and that today was only a fluke.
The princess was wrong.
A week has passed and the young man showed the same symptom. He has only greeted the princess and nothing more. Before, he would showered her with gifts and praises, but now, he shrinks away, as if trying to run away from the princess. What gives? Shouldn't he still be following the princess's tail? Catering to her whims and desires? The idea that the young man has given up on her is not plausible in the princess's eyes. After all, she is the princess. The princess thinks that there is a force that forces the young man to stray away from her. Or, he might be sick. That can also be the case. The princess decides to meet the man at his home. So, the princess asks the doctor where the young man lives. But the doctor refuses to give her the information. The princess pesters the doctor, but the doctor won't budge. Moreover, the doctor has kicked the princess out of the room. How dare she! Is this a way to treat her princess? She only wants to see the man. To see if he is okay. It's not like she would do any dubious thing with the knowledge. Not to mention, the doctor has reminded the princess to stay inside and not leave the house.
… the princess would ignore the doctor's request. It's her choice to do what she likes. And right now, she want to check up on the man. Nothing to get mad for. But now, how would she get this information? Think princess, think. And then, it struck her. There is someone else who knows where the man lives. And she would do anything for the princess. The princess skips happily to where the person is.
The princess has found her: the peddler. The person who has been by the doctor's side for many moons. The one who sells the doctor's medicine. Well, anyone who is under the doctor, technically, falls under the princess too. After all, the doctor falls under the princess rules. So, the peddler works under the princess, too. So, the princess greet the peddler. The peddler was surprised to see the princess, but she regains her composure.
"P-princess Kaguya!" the bunny peddler stands up, "Wh-what do you need of me?" the peddler asks.
"Reisen, did you remember the man that came here recently?" the princess questions.
"Hm? Ah! The one who's learning under Miss Eirin?" the princess nods, "I do. He's been helping Miss Eirin with her work and he's been helping me sell the medicine that Miss Eirin made. My work has been going much faster with him around. That's why I've been going home earlier lately, ehehe," the bunny peddler scratches her head, a smile on her face. Great, this would make it easy for the princess.
"Then, would you happen to know where he lives?"
"Yes, I do, princess. Why do you ask?" the bunny peddler tilts her head to the right.
"Would you mind telling me where he resides? I would like to meet with him."
The bunny peddler looks apprehensive. She looks from side to side before saying, "Uh-uhm, pr-princess,"
"Yes, what is it?"
"W-well, the thing is…" the bunny peddler fiddles with her fingers, "Miss Eirin has specifically asks me NOT to give that information away…"
… what? That doctor again! How many times will she stop the princess? She only wants to meet the man. To see how he's doing. Why is it so difficult to adhere to the princess's request? But that won't stop the princess. The princess has live for many moons, and she knows more tricks than the average person would. And right now, is the time to unleash one of her many tricks.
"*sob sob*" the princess started crying.
"A-ah princess!" the bunny peddler worriedly look. The bunny peddler tries to calm the princess down, but it was no use. The princess has started crying. But of course, she wasn't exactly crying. Yes, it was only,
Crocodile tears.
The many skills that the princess has in her repertoire. This skill has made many men lowers their guard, and follow every single thing that the princess's demands, even starting wars for her. And of course, this also works for the empathetic bunny peddler. She has tried this many times and it always work. She has to apologize later to her bunny peddler, for the many selfish request that she made. But for now, she needs her to spill the information.
"Uuuuu, alright, alright princess! I'll show you where it is" the bunny peddler cries out. The princess has won.
"*sob* re-really, Reisen?" the princess steal glances at the bunny peddler.
"BUT! With conditions. Number one: I will also accompany you, princess. Number two: That you are to wear a disguise, and Number three: That you will not meet with the young man, and you can only see the building from afar. Only then, THEN, I will tell you, princess. If-if that's okay with you, princess?" the bunny peddler shrinks back.
The princess doesn't like that someone is giving her orders, not to mention, restrictions, but she has to take what she can get. Also, she doesn't like what the bunny peddler mention for number three. It made it sounds like the princess was the one who want to meet him. Well, it's true, but she doesn't have to say it like that. Well, she has no choice. The princess nods at the bunny peddler demands, and they both make way to the Human Village.
It is night at the Human Village. Lights are illuminating the streets and homes of many. The princess (with her disguise) with the bunny peddler (the thing she wears when selling medicine) are on their way to the young man's house. This isn't the first time that the princess has come to the Human Village. She has many times come around this part, with disguises (that she wears right now) without the doctor knowing. And the many times that she does knows, the doctor would scold her. She knows that the doctor means well, but couldn't she treated the princess a bit better? Nevertheless, that's not important right now. She is now going to one of her suitor's home. It's strange. Before, she wouldn't even think of anything of her suitor. She would just live her life like normal. But, again, all the suitor that tries to wed her would never give up. The times where they do is when they die or turn mysteriously gay. This is the few times when someone would give up on her. So, she wants to confirm. Why would the young man do that? What made him turn the other way? She has to know. This is a matter of pride for the princess. Before long, the bunny peddler stops. Then, she points at one of the building. By fate, the young man was standing outside the building.
Ah, there he is. Albeit he has come before in the day, to see him at night like this is something magical. With the light illuminating behind him, it make him look extra. This is truly fate, no? The princess wonders what would happen if she meet with him right now. Would he be surprised, to see the princess. Would he be happy, knowing that he is grace by the princess's presence, even at night. Would he be able to contain himself? Ah, no, not here. The princess would like to see what face he would make. But, a nagging feeling reminds her of the restrictions number three. But, it is fine to break them, no? And if the bunny peddler is disappointed, she could always apologize. This moment is important for her. The princess decided that she would take the plunge. As the princess starts moving, someone else was in front of the young man. That made the princess to hide behind one of the building. That was close. She managed to stop herself before she make a fool out of herself. But, who was that person standing in front of the young man? Curios, the princess peek out and see,
That it was a woman.
A woman, with long black hair, the same height and figure as the princess. Her face is small. And she's not well endowed. The woman is talking with the young man. It's not weird. It's completely fine for the young man to have friends. It's that, the way that the young man smiling for the young woman. He should only smile when he's with the princess. He shouldn't show that face to anyone else except for her. But before that,
"Hey, Reisen," the princess asks the bunny peddler, who is hiding with the princess.
"Yes, Princess?"
"Who is that? With the young man?"
"Hm?" Reisen look at what the princess pointed at, "Ah, that's Miss Hikaru."
"Miss… Hikaru? You know of her?"
"Yes, she's one of the person that young man helped. She has a weak constitution before, but Miss Eirin and he was helping her to get better," Reisen explained.
"I… see. Are they close?"
"Very much. Most of the time, the young man visited Miss Hikaru's house. They're seen walking together and there was one time, where the young man hugged Miss Hikaru."
"H-hug?!"
"Yeah, but that's because Miss Hikaru almost fall. Miss Hikaru explain it to me."
"Or she's a harlot who uses her body to entice men," the princess quickly mutters, the bunny peddler didn't catch that.
"Also, this is something that I heard. But it seems like that Miss Hikaru and the young man are going to get married."
"… what?" the princess asked.
"Yeah, when I was resting at one of the dango place, the store owner was chatting with me, and she said that she asked Miss Hikaru and the young man recently, if they're going to get married, and the two look at each other and blush. Kyaaa, it was sooo cute. Also also, the old lady gave me an extra dango for listening and being her regular customer! The dango was delicious and-"
The bunny peddler rambles was cut short by a rapture's laughter from the person in front of her. She kept on laughing and laughing. Miss Hikaru and the young man look around to find the source.
"Ah-ah, princess, shh, shh!" the bunny peddler tries to silence the princess. But she kept on laughing. Then, the princess continues,
"Ah, so that how it is," a grin (not-befitting of the princess) creeps in, "I can see what you're trying to do."
Certainly, the princess has seen it. She knows exactly what the young man is doing. She has read it in one of the text inside of the bunny peddler's room. Ah, yes. The legendary,
Cold Shoulder to Make the Other Person Jealous/Conscious Technique.
Ah, to go that far as to court the princess, the young man is a dangerous foe. The princess acknowledges on how ruthless the young man is. Certainly, the young man is someone dangerous. There is no other reason. The princess couldn't fathom that someone like him would go for a common wench. He laid his eyes on the princess, and no one could escape that. There is no way that this farce of a play would even last long. Soon, the young man would removes himself from the plan, and come crawling back to her. Her bunny would return back to her side.
"Let's go home, Reisen,"
"Eh, ah, yes, Princess." Without looking back, the two return back to Eientei. The princess now has a peace of mind. She knows, that the young man would quickly come back to her side. There is no way that THAT is what he is aiming for. He has the princess, and he should try to get the princess. It would be foolish of him to settle for less. The princess, skipping happily, can expect a normal life again.
Then, the wedding invitation came in.
One week before, the young man didn't come at all. The princess waited, and waited, and waited. But he never came. On the third day, the princess asked the doctor why the young man hasn't come. She said that the young man has learned enough, and can stand on his own two feet. Is that so? But strange, wasn't the young man supposed to meet with the princess? Why does he need to stop coming over?
Ah, of course. He wants the princess to go to him. How sly. But, for a princess, that cannot do. As always, a man should court for the girl of her dreams. It always is and always will be. So, fine. The princess accept the challenge. We'll see whether the young man, or the princess would caved first. This poses no challenge for the princess. As she has lived for many moons now. Time passes in a blink of an eye for her. How silly for a man to do this kind of challenge. But, the princess finds it amusing.
Then, at the end of the week. The dreaded invitation came. The wedding invitation, between that wench and the young man.
Oh, how silly. That young man is. To make the princess go this far for her to reach him. Well, looks like he win. That man is surely a danger to the princess. Time for the princess to pay a visit to the young man, and show him his prize. Luckily, the princess has already know the young man schedule. Without anyone notice, the princess went out to see the young man.
It was the last house-call for the man. The man now starts his side-job as a call-in doctor. Thanks to the doctor at Eientei, the young man has learned the basic way of treating people. The smile of the people's face has been his biggest factor in pursuing this job. Now, it's time for him to go home. For the young man to meet with his soon-to-be wife. But, before he leaves, a young kid walks up to him and gave the man a letter. The young man asked the kid where he got this from, he stays quiet and walked away, without saying anything. Feeling strange, the young man read the letter. It read:
Your bright princess awaits,
- Kaguya
The young man can't believe it. The princess from Eientei is the one who called him. The one that has vehemently rejected the young man. The bitter (and stupid) memories resurface, where the young man tries to court the princess. Alas, he failed. The feeling of love are still there, but now, he has a new love. The wonderful, Miss Hikaru. The young man met her when he went the rounds with the doctor. Miss Hikaru was sickly and the doctor has been attending to her. Her treatment require constant care, but the doctor's time is limited, as she needs to be in many places. So, the young man take it in him to take care of the Miss Hikaru. Then, the young man and Miss Hikaru get to know each other. And surprisingly, they both hit it off. The young man sees Miss Hikaru as someone that he would be willing to live with. But, the funny thing is, it wasn't the young man who confessed. It was Miss Hikaru. The young man was embarrassed. Because it is usually the man who make the first move. But, the young man knows, that it takes a tremendous amount of courage to confess. And he has no reason to say no. So, he agrees. Fast forward to now, and now he's soon to be married.
Even with all that, he still has some feelings for the princess. How can he not? It his first love after all. The young man feel that if he accept this invitation, he would fall in love with the princess again. On the other hand, it would be rude to not show up, after someone has invited you. And, this can affirm the young man's love for Miss Hikaru. So, the young man head off to where the princess is.
There, under the moon, the princess stands, her back turn. The moon illuminate the princess's figures, showing on how beautiful the princess is. Ah, how the young man misses this view. He has not come to Eientei, as if to run away from the princess. He feels scared. Scared, that he will go back to the princess again. Then, the princess's turn. Ah, how beautiful. Her brown eyes, her long eyelashes, her cute little nose, her kissable lip- no, no no! Stop. The young man is over that. His love life is Miss Hikaru now.
"How have you been," the princess smile, brighter than the moon, "I hope I'm not disturbing you tonight," the princess looks down.
"No, no, it's fine, princess," the young man reassure, "But, how do you know where I was?" the young man asked.
"I asked around the village. My, you've certainly made a name for yourself," the princess giggles cutely. The same giggles that melt any men reasons, "I'm here to tell you something, would you mind, spare me some of your time?" the princess plays with her hair.
"I don't mind. Anything for you, princess," hearing that, the princess smiles in glee.
"I see, thank you very much." The princess stays silent, then continues, "Did you remember, the times where you confessed to me?"
How could he forget? That's most of the interaction between him and the princess. He wants to bury himself, remembering back to how pushy he was. The young man nods.
"I see," the princess smiles, "Then, I would like to announce something to you. Ehem," the princess clears her throat. Ah, even her throat clearing sounds cute.
"Congratulations!" confetti flies out of nowhere, "I have now deemed you, young man, worthy, of holding me by your arms. After seeing all your valiant effort, it clears to me, that you are of earnest, one of determination, and romance, that you can make any girl fall. I can attest to that," the princess flicks her black, silky hair, "Now, I know how happy you are that this dream of yours has become a reality, and you may wonder 'Is this real? This is a dream, isn't it?" and you can reassure yourself," the princess puts out her hand, "by taking hold of my hand. Now, young ma-, no, my lover, would you, in sickness, and in health, till death reaches us, forever, stay with your princess?" the princess finished. Perfect. As perfect as it could be. No man could ever say no this. To the princess. The princess can already see it. The future hold together of her with the young man. The many kids that the both of them have (many). They'll live till eons and beyond. Till the heat death of the universe. Yes, the princess can already imagine, it's only a matter of time before the young man holds her han-
"Thank you, princess," the young man speaks, "It's an honor for you to this."
Hm? Why does this feel familiar?
"But, I'm sorry, I have to decline," the young man lower his head.
"… my ears may have deceived me. Would you mind saying that again?"
"I can't live with you, princess. I'm sorry."
"... But-"
"Hm?"
"But, why?"
The young man scratches his head. "I don't know if you have seen the invitation yet, princess. But, I already found someone. Someone else to live with. I know that this is disrespectful to you, princess, but, I, I can't go out with you. It would be wrong for Miss Hikaru."
The princess waits in silence, her hand still outstretch. She is waiting. Waiting for the young man to deceive her. Waiting for him to go 'Ha, gotcha!' at the princess. Anything. Anything else rather than this putrid drivel. Someone else? Better than the princess? Nonsense! Well, the princess is benevolent. She is forgiving. The young man could turn this around by apologizing to her, and she would accept all of it. She will accept all of him. And he will do the same. For the princess.
"I have to go now princess, it's getting late. I'm sorry for not being able to escort you back home, but I need to be back. She's waiting for me. Thank you for your offer, and goodbye," the young man leaves, leaving the princess all alone.
The princess watches as the young man leaves, without taking her hand. She puts the outstretch hand closer to her. Her grip tighten, as she glares at the direction where the young man walks.
"… tch," click the princess's tongue.
The young man starts walking back to his home, to where Miss Hikaru is. He can't believe it. That the princess reciprocate his feeling. He thought it was a dream, something too good to be true. True, he has been trying to get with the princess, but that was the past. Sure, he may has lingering feelings for the princess, but that was the past. Everything regarding the princess, has been put to the past, and the young man will never bring it back up to the present. He has a new life now. A life with Miss Hikaru. Someone who is willing, from the start, accept him. The young man may have some sort of resentment to the princess, but he had already forgotten about it by now. Now, he only wants to meet with his significant other: his wife: with Miss Hikaru. As he's walking back to the village, it was unnaturally bright. There are street lamps around the village but it's not usually this bright. Also, its hue is different from the street lamp. It's more orange. Not to mention, it feels a bit warmer. And the young man can smell smo-
… oh no. No, no, no no! The young man hasten his walk, now turn to a run. The direction of the smoke is around his residential area. The young man pray, that it was on another building. Even though that may sound horrible, he don't care. He pray, and pray, that it wasn't where he thinks it is. And, Lady Luck, as always, hated the young man. A crowd gather around one of the buildings, some are carrying buckets of water to quell the flames. The building in question, is a building that is all too familiar,
It's the young man's house.
"N-no, no no NO NO!" the young man rushes forward, to his now burning house. He moves past the crowds of people trying to put out the fire. He has to get inside. Inside the burning building. Miss Hikaru is in there. But then, a hand grabs hold of the young man,
"W-woah, wait wait, stop! What are you trying to do?" a rugged man stops him.
"Let me go! I have to get inside. My wife – my wife is in there!" the young man squirms, trying to be free of the rugged man holds.
"Your wife?" he asks, "Oh, you're that part time doctor!" How long is he going to hold the young man's hand? If he doesn't let go now, he will – "If you're looking for Miss Hikaru, don't worry, she's fine," the rugged man says. Hearing his wife name, the young man shoots back at the rugged man.
"… huh?"
"Look, calm down, okay?" the rugged man instructs. The young man can't calm down now, but he will try. He took a couple of deep breaths as he listens to the rugged man, "She's right there," the rugged man points at a direction. The young man look at to where the rugged man pointed, to see a small gathering of people – mostly woman – circle to someone lying down on the floor. She is someone that the young man knows, and holds dearly, "When we got to the scene, she was already there, laying there on the ground, and …" as the rugged man drones off, the young man breathes a sign of relief. Miss Hikaru is safe. She is safe. Thank goodness. As the rugged man drones off, the young man asked to be release from his grips. The rugged man do so and the young man walk to where Miss Hikaru is. He look at his wife, and he can see black spots around his wife face and body. Her night clothes are now lightly covered in black.
"Please move back, give the unconscious some room to br- wait, it's you, Miss Hikaru's fiancé!" a woman stops in front of you. The young man asked the conditions of his wife, the woman look down, "Right now, she's still breathing. We tried to wake her up but… as you can see. If you can, would you mind looking at her?" the young man nod and sits down, trying to check up on Miss Hikaru. True, Miss Hikaru is currently breathing. He tries shaking her but she doesn't wake up. He touch Miss Hikaru's body to check if there's any laceration, burn or anything on her skins. Luckily, there's nothing. He tries to find out why Miss Hikaru is still unconscious. Head trauma? Carbon poisoning? Many prognosis comes to mind but he don't know. His mind is racing now. He can't think clearly right. A blank. He rack up his brain, trying to find anything that he can do. Then, the princess's face popped up. That's right. The doctor! The one that he has learned from. She could help. There's no better doctor than her. Determined to save Miss Hikaru, he carried her unconscious body and run. Run to the bamboo forest. And reaches Eientei. He screams. Screams for the doctor to come out. To help with Miss Hikaru. Thankfully, the doctor is willing. The young man brings in Miss Hikaru to where the doctor instructed. But what he didn't see, a certain princess is looking from afar, glaring at the young man, but more precise, the person that he is carrying.
