William opened his eyes to a white ceiling. He looked around the room and figured out where he was immediately. The Hospital. There were multiple chairs lined up on the wall opposite of him. There was a tv mounted on the wall in front of him as well. He also noticed the iv which was inserted into his right arm. It was connected to a machine. Due to the loss of blood he figured he had gotten a blood transfusion. Question was how long he was asleep for.

The teen almost gagged at the intense smell of medicine. Why did all hospitals reek of such strong medicine? The next thing he noticed or rather felt caused him to frown. It would seem that his clothing was replaced with that of a hospital gown. He didn't know how he felt about having someone change his clothes for him.

Any further pondering was put to a stop as the old man he encountered at the battlefield walked into the room.

"How long was I out for?"

"Twelve hours." He replied.

William raised a brow. Had he really been sleeping for that long? He knew that healing was important. If he wasn't in good health he wouldn't be able to save the city let alone protect Alex.

"What will you do? There's no longer a risk of you dying from blood loss. Will you try to stop Dahak once more?"

William was silent for several minutes.

"As much as it pains me to admit it…I'm not at his level. I'll have to train before I go after him."

The man nodded. "Dahak has allies all around the world. No telling if simply stopping him will be enough. Nonetheless I'll take you under my wing if you'd like."

"What?"

"I'll teach you everything I know."

William widened his eyes.

"After all…I know how that man operates better than anyone."

"What do you mean?" Curiosity spread across William's face.

"Dahak and I trained under the same master."

"What?"

Tribeca Prep High School several days later

"You're to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Whether it's an older brother, aunt or even a friend of the family. I'm sure you're aware of the tragedy that happened the other day. You won't be allowed to leave without an adult with you." The teacher spoke.

Alex balled her hands into fists underneath her desk, her eyes were downcasted, looking at nothing in particular. Though it was clear she had a lot on her mind. By all rights she should be home. Nobody would blame her if she decided to take a break from school. Yet she returned. As heartbroken as she was, Alex knew that she had to continue her life. Even if that meant William wouldn't be here with her.

The teenage wizard was hospitalized for a few days, her injuries weren't life threatening. But they were serious enough to require medical treatment. Her parents told her that she should take her time. Spend a week or two at home. Alex refused and went to school on the same day she was discharged from the hospital.

"So many families were affected by this Dahak guy. Why is he going around killing police officers?" One of the students whispered to another.

"I don't know anymore than you do. William had similar abilities did he not?"

"Yeah. you're totally right. Dahak used lightning. The same element as William."

"Dahak used purple lightning. It must be more powerful than the regular lightning they use. William began to struggle to keep up with him when he switched over to using his purple lightning."

The other student frowned. "What do you think is going to happen now? Traditional weapons don't work on these Elementals, right?"

"It seems that would be the case."

A sigh escaped Alex's lips as she rested her head in the center of her right palm and stared at the wall opposite of her. The situation within New York wasn't a favorable one. Dahak and his followers were turning NYC into a lawless city. If there were any officers within the city they would probably think twice before making a move against Dahak. A Tank wasn't even a threat against him. Dahak was simply too powerful, no matter how many men were sent after him he always managed to come out of it unscathed.

If nothing wasn't done , others outside of New York would be affected by the monster that was Dahak.

….

"You need to feel the energy around you, within you. Concentrate." The old man who had introduced himself as Jace Monroe. The two of them sat in Jace's backyard, the grass having a calming feeling. That combined with the sun beaming down on them made the experience better.

William had his eyes closed with a concentrative look on his face. He could feel the energy within himself. As well as the energy within Jace. Next he sensed the energy within the house. The energy that flowed inside it.

Jace smiled at him. "You're doing good. Most people don't appreciate this ability enough. You can sense your enemy, given that the enemy is a Lightning Elemental. We'll focus on this for an hour or so. After that we'll spar for a bit. I also have a special ability that I want to teach you."

William never lost his concentration. Although he had heard his instructor's words he was trying his best to stay focused. He could see how this technique could be useful. It would definitely come in handy for when he needed to find Dahak.

For Hours William's training continued. William was strong, but as he would soon find out, although Jace was old he certainly wasn't weak. William struggled to keep up with him during their spar and ultimately he lost. It was obvious that he had a lot of work to do before he could even think about taking on Dahak.

Tribeca Prep-Sometime in the afternoon

Alex was heading towards the final class of the day. Whatever thoughts she had were interrupted as Harper walked beside her with a serious expression on her face.

"We need to have a talk, Alex."

The young wizard knew this was coming. She had lied to Harper. Dated someone who she had her eyes on and lied to her about it for who knows how long.

"I don't know what you were thinking Alex. Of all people, why William? To tell you the truth I'm not mad that you were with him. I'm mad that you didn't tell me. That's the same as lying, you know."

Alex's face was unreadable. The teen didn't say anything for at least an entire minute. "I can understand why you'd feel that way, and maybe it wasn't the smartest decision keeping it from you. I know you Harper. No matter what I said you'd react negatively."

Harper shook her head. "Be that as it may be, you still lied."

"I did." Was her simple reply.

"Was it worth it? Being with a guy like him….I can see that he was determined to save the city. Hell, he died trying to do so, but was it really worth risking the bond we share?"

Alex frowned. Was this really going to sever the bond they had?

"Harper….I know you might not believe me now, but it wasn't my intention to hurt you." Alex spoke, sincerely.

She stared at the wizard directly in the eyes. "Things are crazy right now. There's a tyrant trying to make NYC into a lawless area. Your actions have consequences Alex and I'm not sure if I can trust you anymore."

"Harp-" The wizard widened her eyes, Harper walking away.

"Wait. Harper!"

"Don't follow me. We need a break, a long one." Alex wanted to follow after her, but she realized that it would only make things worse with Harper.

Alex balled her hands into fists as she looked at the retreating form of her friend.

'Harper.' She thought with saddened eyes.

-Later that day-Waverly substation

Alex sat at one of the many tables with her family's restaurant. The teen had a focused look spread across her features. In front of her was a piece of paper and a pen which she held between her thumb, index and middle fingers. She had a few things written down on the piece of paper.

She was so focused that she didn't see her brother, Justin approaching. Curious, the older teen glanced at the paper.

Proton, Neutron, get gone.

Rock. Rock, until you drop.

Please please tell me now is there something I should know. Duranium Duranius.

Make your troubles no more. Go in through the out door.

Literarium Terrarium.

Magic clock?

"Alex. What are you doing?"

The younger teen jumped. Turning towards her brother she averted her eyes. "I think that's pretty obvious. I made a list of spells."

Justin rolled his eyes. "I can see that. The question is why." He spoke. It was obvious why she was doing this. He wanted to hear her say it.

"I'm not going to let the Elementals take over our city without a fight."

"Alex….those guys are monsters. I don't think it's smart to mess with them. Just look at what happened to William." She glared at him, though Justin didn't feel threatened in the least. "If you keep this up you could very well die. Some of these spells could work. If you're not fast you will die before the spell can be cast. This is all so reckless. Seriously, you plan on using the magic clock? What do you plan on doing, going into the past and killing Dahak?"

"It's better than doing nothing. Who says I'm going after Dahak though?"

Justin raised a brow. Taking him out would solve most of their problems.

"I'm not stupid Justin, if William couldn't defeat Dahak then how could I hope to defeat him? No. I'm going after Allen and Adrian."

Question marks seemed to appear above the older siblings' heads.

"They're strong. However, they are not as strong as Dahak." Alex stared at the paper. "I'm not rushing into this. I'm going to carefully plan this. Of course I shouldn't storm into their lair."

"Then what's your plan?" Justin asked. He was curious how thought out her plan was.

"The plan is to catch Either Adrian or Allen alone. I figured I could cast the literarium Terrarium spell or the go in through the outdoor spell."

Justin could the logic in her plan. Though if she didn't act swiftly she could be killed. "You really have your mind set on this, huh?"

"These people are responsible for so much death and destruction. William wanted to protect this city. He died trying to do so. I won't forgive them."

"Are you sure about this?"

"I am. Adrian and Allen are a problem. Before we can even think about dealing with Dahak they need to be dealt with."

"Alex. What do you mean by "dealt with?" Justin asked.

"Whether I trap them somewhere or kill them…I don't think it matters."

Justin widened his eyes.

'Alex…I think William's death affected you more than you're willing to admit."
