A Week's Day.

I do not own Pokemon this is just for fun

Monday morning Zoelle felt rejuvenated after a long rest throughout the weekend. The young teacher sat at her desk ready to go. She already had worksheets for kids printed out for the week. For the math lesson, Zoelle thought patterns would be good. She managed to find a paper with = three different colored poke balls on it and each row the kid had to write the value of that ball was in the row. The literature for the week is a classic, The Very Hungry Caterpie. It was a cute story and even had a short movie for it as well. They might watch it towards the end of the week.

Seeing the time Zoelle opened her classroom door waiting for her students to arrive. As usual Nora was the first one to show up. This time her dad dropped her off. He was less rude than his wife, having the courtesy of saying 'good morning' albeit dry. Shortly the others followed in. They put their things away in their cubbies and made their way to their seats very loudly. It was expected. Usually, Zoelle would make them be quiet, but they could not stop talking about the Contest that happened last Friday.

Instead of scolding them, Zoelle instructed them to speak one at a time. Communication lesson 101. Aoki went first. She talked about all her favorite appeals other than her teacher's. After her it was Lily talking about Zoelle's 'princess' dress and how Romeo and Rebel should've worn a ribbon to match. Jace could not stop talking about how cool the Charizard was. Nora, Spinda, and Sammy were much more entertained by the battles and Jackson stayed quiet. The young teacher asked the quite boy what was his favorite. All of it was his response.

Smiling, they began to read the assigned literature. The young teacher noticed that Jace, Lily, and Spinda were above the recommended reading level for their age. Sammy, Aoki, and Nora were about average, while Jackson was a little below average. They still had plenty of time in the school year for him to catch up. Although she noticed that sometimes he tended not to pay attention like the others and played around. She wondered if his mom was going over the list of sight words, she sent every week. Hopefully yes.

Around math the young teacher explained how to do the worksheet a few times to make sure the students understood. Math was more of a difficult subject to teach despite it being simple math. Well to her at least. Nora and Aoki did well by themselves for the most part. Of course, she stayed looking over their work. With Jace, it was more about his handwriting than anything else. His fives looked like the letter 'S', so she made sure to print out number tracing worksheets for them to practice at home with their parents. And once again Jackson still seemed to be behind his peers, so Zoelle spent most of the lesson with him.

"Okay Jackson, the pattern is red, blue, and yellow in the first row," Zoelle explained. "How many red poke balls are there?"

"Umm ten?" Jackson guessed.

"Don't just guess. Use your fingers to count all the red ones."

"It's five!" Lily shouted out excitedly not knowing she gave away the answer.

"Good job Lily, but I want Jackson to figure it out by himself. I'm very proud of you finish your work." Focusing her attention back towards Jackson, she went over the second row. "What is the pattern for the second row.

"It is yellow and red and blue," the quiet boy replied scratching his unkempt orange hair. She never mentioned it much since the rest of him was clean. Jackson is usually one of the first ones to arrive yet the last to leave. Zoelle knew that his mom worked a lot, but she could barely afford the basics. Heck she was surprised she made the contribution towards the field trip. She did not know if this was something worth reporting. The boy is healthy in both mind and body. He only needs his hair washed from what she saw.

"Okay good. Now for this problem it asks how many yellow poke balls are there. Count it out and write your answer in the box. I'm going to check on the others."

After the morning lessons and lunch, it was time for the trainer lessons. Zoelle really did not have much for her Pokémon and Igglybuff to do. She let the kids borrow one Pokémon each to have a mock battle. Luckily her team restricted themselves enough not to go all out. Heck they barely put any energy into their attacks when it came to the kids.

"Okay Rogue use quick attack on Ravage!" Jackson commanded. This was usually the loudest he ever spoke.

"Dodge it Ravage and use…what was it again. Oh yeah shadow clone jutsu!" Lily countered. The young teacher made a note to teach the kids the proper name of the moves and not just the nicknames she personally used. But she was impressed with Lily's quick thinking using double team to slow down the electric fox.

"That's not gonna stop us. Use thunder!"

"Nu uh, use buzz buzz and hit him first Ravage." Nodding because he somehow understood what the little yellow fuzz human was trying to say, the bug Pokemon 'countered' his teammate's 'attack'. Lily showed the talent to become a real force of nature in the future as trainer. She mostly played with heavy defensive and counter style. Jackson was more of the offensive type of trainer. He also showed natural talent in the course. However, Zoelle wished he showed as much interest in his regular studies as he does his training studies. Was it her? Did she not make the lessons interesting enough. Or did he just have a different way of learning? She pretty much figured out everyone else's learning style except his.

Shaking the thoughts her head, the brown skinned woman turned towards Aoki's and Jace's battle. Of course, Aoki had the class pet Igglybuff and Jace had his favorite, Rebel,' by his side. Seeing the small ballon Pokemon stand on business against the fire type was a hilarious sight to see. So much so, Zoelle took a picture of it cropping out the kids so she could post on her social media later.

"Alright Puffball you think you have the guts to challenge me?" Rebel roared as he puffed out smoke from his nostrils.

"That's right mister. Me and my human gonna take you down!" Igglybuff squeaked full of confidence.

"Alright Igglybuff put Rebel to sleep with sing!" Aoki commanded.

'Not a bad strategy,' Zoelle thought to herself.

"Rebel cover your ears then use flare blitz!"

Watching from a distance Principal Roberts made note of how the kids interacted with the Pokémon. Every now and then he peeked into the classrooms to see how they were doing. The kindergarteners are a rowdy bunch but as sweet as a bag of candy. He could not count how many times he saw the kids jumping off chairs, hiding under the table, kissing each other, licking themselves, licking and or wiping away their snot, or fighting each other. The only thing that improved as they matured was the proper wiping of their noses. Roberts figured the students in Zoelle class had been particularly good since he only heard her fuss at them twice today. Roberts gave them another quick glance before he went to do his duties.

Checking the time Zoelle returned her Pokémon from the mock battles. The kids of course pouted and crossed their arms, but they knew it just meant it was almost time to go home. Still, they would rather play with the Pokémon. The teacher helped pack each one of her students' bags to make sure the proper papers were being sent home for the parents to look over. She had a new list of words for the kids to practice reading at home and she wanted parents to help their kids bring in a picture of their favorite Pokémon and describe it. She already knew James 'Spinda' was going to bring a picture of a Spinda. And for Jace probably a Charmander. Who knows? Maybe the kids will surprise her tomorrow.

Tuesday morning began on the rough side. The kids were on a thousand like someone just shoved sugar and caffeine down their throats. It took them nearly an hour to settle down, so they were behind on lessons. Zoelle even sent her better-behaved students to time out. And today of all days they could not keep their hands off each other. She had to break up three fights today. It was only nine-thirty-five. Zoelle thought about taking them outside to help release that extra energy. However, that were not listening to her inside so she doubted they would listen to her outside. That's when the young woman came up with an idea.

"Well since you guys are not listening today, we will not play with any of the Pokemon," Zoelle threatened. That got them to momentarily be still so she could continue with the lesson. But it only lasted a mere moment before she heard 'leave me alone'. At her wits end and she finally snapped, "ALL RIGHT! EVERYONE HEADS DOWN! NO OUTSIDE PLAY TODAY!"

Zoelle heard some sniffles as the kids did what they were told. She did not like raising her voice at them, but it was a necessity. It would be simple if they would just listen. She knew it was not going to be that easy. She really did love the kids. And she was still learning the proper way to discipline them. No outside play seemed to do it for now. The woman needed something else to let the kids knew she was very serious today.

Around lunchtime Zoelle made them eat in complete silence. The only time they were allowed to speak was when they were done. At nap time Igglybuff stayed in her ball on the teacher's desk. The kids would just have to fall asleep on their own today. Usually this is when Zoelle would try to catch a quick nap as well. Instead, she stayed up the whole time making sure no one was being disruptive. She could not wait until the day ended.

Wednesday the kids came in acting better than the day before. Most of them focused on their lessons and did the work without any complaint. The usual troublemakers, Nora, and Sammy were only fussed at one time today. So, for the most part everyone was doing okay. Everyone except Lily.

She had her head down most of the morning. The silly child would be the most cheerful when coming in. Zoelle checked her forehead to see if she had a fever. It was a little warm. She remembered she had a thermometer in her desk, so she used it. Lily's body temp was 101 degrees. Seeing the high temperature, Zoelle set the girl to side and began calling her mom. No answer. At that point she released Rosco to keep the girl company and try to help cool her down while she tried to call girl's mom again.

"Hello?" Mrs. Burges greeted.

"Hello Mrs. Burges. Lily has a fever and to keep everyone else healthy she needs to be home for at least twenty-four hours," Zoelle informed.

"Oh, my goodness! I'm in Pewter City at the current moment. My husband works not too far from the school. I will get him to pick her up. Thank you for notifying me." With that she hung up. Zoelle went over to Lily and squatted down to her level.

"Lily. Your daddy will be here soon." In response to that the child sneezed right into Zoelle's face. She felt her whole life flash before her eyes. After about thirty minutes of waiting Mr. Burges arrived to pick up his daughter. He looked angry and cursed under his breath. He was still in his postal work uniform.

"I told that woman that our child did not look well," He expressed. "I bet she's not even visiting her mother." He picked up his baby and thanked Zoelle. Sounds like some drama going on in the Burges house. Drama she had no parts of being part of. She just wanted Lily to feel better.

Thursday felt a little exhausted. She could barely get out of bed this morning and she had Rebel fly her to work because she did not have the energy to walk. Her head was aching. She did not know why either. Her monthly visitor already passed. She drinks plenty of water and she did not skip breakfast. What was the problem?

Oh yeah. Lily sneezed right into her face the day before. Zoelle reached into her bag and grabbed a couple of aspirins. Hopefully this will sustain her for the day. Taking note of the classroom, it looked a bit empty. Lily of course was out but so was Sammy, Aoki, and Jace. Nora was sitting in her seat coloring with Igglybuff. Spinda was reading a book. And Jackson just sat there looking out the window. On a good day Zoelle would've been excited just to deal with three kids. But today with her head aching, she did not want to deal with any of them.

Still, she pushed through it to give them lessons albeit all of them were cut short. For the rest of the day, she let them have free play if they kept their voices down. Zoelle let out Romeo and Rogue to play. Today the kids were in the dress up trunk. Nora put on a top hat on the electric type. Ironically it looked pretty good on him. Sammy found a random army jacket (kid size of course) and put it on Romeo. Maybe she could catch a quick nap without anyone noticing. No. She must be professional.

At lunch, Mrs. Potts noticed that the young woman was dragging. Her nurturing instinct kicked in full gear. She gave the teacher some orange juice and some extra food to help get something in her at least. Zoelle thanked her but was only able to handle a few bites. Her appetite was gone. Worried, the chubby woman wrapped up the food so it could be taken home later. The older woman was used to this, however. Throughout the year a virus would come into the school making half of the students and faculty stay home for a few days. It did not change the fact that it is always worrisome though. Hopefully, it was nothing too serious.

Nap time rolled around and Zoelle was finally able to sneak in a nap herself. Until she heard knocking at her door. It was Jackson's mom. She came to pick him up early. Shortly after that, the rest of the parents gathered their kids. Nora's mother for once did not scoff at the teacher. Instead, she informed her about her child getting a checkup to make sure she was not infected. Zoelle completely understood. She might get tested herself once she gets off work.

Now in an empty classroom Zoelle took the time to deeply clean her room. Well to the best of her abilities. With a virus going around it was better to disinfect everything even more. In the middle of the cleaning process Ms. Norton came into her classroom wearing a mask.

"You're empty too huh? I just finished cleaning mine. I only had nine out of my twenty today and they all left during lunch. Mr. Roberts sent out an email saying school will be closed tomorrow and was going to be professionally cleaned," The blonde woman informed. Seeing the brown woman struggling she offered a helping hand. "I'm surprised you made it this long without getting sick. Usually in the first two weeks, us early educators would call out."

"I have a strong immune system…or so I thought," Zoelle laughed a bit before going into a coughing fit. "If I can survive hypothermia, I can survive this."

Ms. Norton smiled under her mask, "Trust me, there is nothing stronger to help build up your immune system than dealing with booger eaters on a daily basis."

Friday Zoelle lay in her bed with her robe on. Her whole body ached. She had chills and she was hot at the same time. It was not her first time being terribly sick. At least this time she was in a bed and not in her tent or whatever makeshift shelter she made. Her Pokémon did the best they could to help her recover. Rather it be finding random trainers on the road or trying to carry her to a nearby town to get the help she needed. She did not miss those days at all.

Heck, she was happy that school was going to be closed Friday and Monday. Plenty of time to recover. Just as she was drifting off to sleep her phone rang. It was Dario. Groaning she answered it.

"Hey Amiga, I know you're sick and all, but I brought you some soup and medicine. I can leave it by your front door," Dario said.

"That would be great," Zoelle replied hoarsely.

"Yikes, if I did not know it was you, I would've thought it was a dude or something. You sound horrible. Maybe I should come in."

"No, I don't want you to get sick."

"I have a mask on right now. Besides I see Regal out here guarding the door. Are you still worried about your problem?"

"A little bit. If he wanted to come get me, he would have by now," Zoelle said without thinking. "I'm getting up to unlock the door now."

Taking note of what Zoelle said, Dario gave the cat a pet on his head and a treat as he waited. Two minutes went by until he heard the door unlocked. That's when he saw his friend in terrible shape. Bags under eyes, hair messy, and her robe was barely on causing him to have less than pure thoughts. Usually, Regal would attack anyone he sensed had such 'intentions' but he liked this human. He thought this Dario was a good potential mate. But perhaps Sebastian was a better choice. That human fitted a more elegant lifestyle he believed Zoelle needed.

Although Sebastian was more of an acquaintance than a friend. Regal only seen the young man twice and that was only in passing. He also had a purugly that would try her best to befriend him. Especially when he was doing his exploring around the neighborhood. She was not as annoyingly hyper as Sugar. She was just annoyingly boring in his opinion. Although that could be that he was more use to the prim cat.

"You sit down and rest. I'll prepare your soup. It's Estrellita Sopita. My mom always makes it whenever me or my siblings were sick. It should clear you up right away." Dario said not directly looking at Zoelle. He was afraid of seeing anything more. She was still covered up mostly, but her robe was opened slightly on the top giving him a nice preview of her chest. He had no idea what was wrong with him. He sees things like that all the time going to the beach or heck even walking in public. Yet Zoelle made him feel like a teenager again. Luckily at the age of twenty-three he had a little bit more self-control.

After he finished preparing the soup, he gave it to Zoelle and sat next to her. She thanked him and took a bite. Amazed by how well it tasted she managed to take in a few more bites. Still, she did not finish it since her appetite was mostly gone. Regal came and cuddled by her feet. He was still on guard but less guarded with Dario here.

"Thank you, but you should head on home. I seriously don't want you to get sick," Zoelle said as she scooted away from him.

"It's a risk I'm willing to take Amiga." He smiled genuinely.

"Hey Dario. Why are you so nice to me?" she asked out of the blue. "I appreciate it but it's kinda overwhelming."

"You're not used to people being nice to you?"

"I am but not like on a regular basis. Other than my Pokémon I traveled solo. I was bullied a lot as a kid. However, I must admit was weird at times. And I met not so nice people when I traveled so it toughened me up…I guess what I'm trying to say is…."

"That it's hard for you to open to people. I can tell. Like I said, your Pokémon stay guarded with you. You must have gone through a lot. So, what's his name? The guy you're afraid of?" Dario interrupted. Zoelle did not realize that she gave up vital information unknowingly. But her friend has been good to her so far. She could trust him.

"Xander Thorne."

"What's his relation to you?"

"My grandmother and great aunt sent him to find me when I ran away" From there Zoelle told her story on why she was afraid of him. From the time his alakazam followed her through her forest and used psycho cut on her while her back was turn causing the scar on her back. The time the alakazam used his psychic powers to throw her off a cliff. How he used his powers along with a hypno to give her unending nightmares. And the times he defeated her teams within an inch of their lives. "From what I heard my great aunt wanted him to break me. He apologized every time we interacted, but I think he enjoyed torturing me. And to make matters worse. He's, my fiancé."

"Fiancé? Why? This guy sounds terrible!" Dario expressed clearly disgusted. He was grateful that Zoelle shared this with him but understood why she kept it a secret. Understood why Zoelle's Pokémon is very protective and guarded.

"To bring back some respect to the family. Or at least my grandmother's family. My grandma is the youngest one, so she was more rebellious. She had my mom when she was seventeen and unwed. And my biological grandfather is a playboy from what I've heard. I have very little memories of him. I don't even know what he looks like. My grandfather that was in my life died shortly after my parents. I loved him so much." With the young woman drifted off to sleep with a tear rolling down her face.

Hearing Zoelle's story made Dario's heart hurt. But he knew she was not telling the full story and he did not want to know. He noticed how Regal had his ears down while she was speaking. The cat's fur stood up when she said his name. Scratching Regal behind his ear he stared at Zoelle again. Appreciating the kind gesture the cat returned the affection by rubbing against Dario's leg and purring. It was an odd thing for him to do to another trainer other than his own.

The Orre native picked up the woman bridal style and placed her back on her bed tucking her in. He knew where she kept the spare blankets, so he grabbed them and placed them on the couch. Dario believed it would be better if he stayed a couple of nights to make sure Zoelle get the proper care she needed. He cleaned up the kitchen and organized the leftovers in the fridge. Dario realizing the rest of the apartment including the bathroom was already clean so there was not much to do. He let out Sugar to play with Regal for a bit while he went to his own home to shower and pack clothes.

"I'm glad Dario became friends with you guys. It's been fun hanging out," Sugar said sweetly.

"I am also glad that we befriended one another. The Dario is a suitable mate for my Zoelle."

I never had Estrellita Sopita, but it looked good from what I've seen lol.

Plus now we have a little bit more background on Zoelle.

And as someone who teaches small children some of the things, I described is how my days kinda goes lol.
