"Marry me, Isabella," he said.
"Excuse me?" I said.
Like, what?
"Marry me." He repeated.
"I have no idea what the hell that means," I said.
"I'm not sure why it's so difficult to understand," he said, "I'm just asking you to marry me!"
"And why the fuck would you ask me that question!" I said with disbelief, "I don't even know you! What are you trying to do here?"
"Well, you're thinking about marrying Jacob, so why not me?" he said.
"Like, seriously? What the hell that even means! I know Jacob," I said.
"Which is even worse," he laughed, "Why would anyone want to marry Jacob after knowing him?"
"That's none of your business!" I said.
"Look..." he said, "I was talking to your brother. He told me you're trying to find the right partner for you, and he also agrees that Jacob is not the right choice!"
What?
Like, what?
Why the fuck would Emmett talk to him about this!
I had no fucking idea my brother would be such a gossip queen!
Like, why?
"And he also agrees that you and I make more sense!" he said.
"Excuse me?" I said.
This was the most absurd conversation I've ever had in my entire life!
"Look... Edward... I don't know what you're talking about... And why?" I said.
"I think I have made everything pretty clear," he said.
No, he didn't!
He wasn't making any sense at all!
I didn't even know him!
"Look, I can find anyone... But I don't want just anyone..." he said, "Now I'm obsessed with a woman who is bold enough to go to the exclusive club as a sub, but then fizzled out at the last moment! I found that adorable!"
He gotta be kidding me right now!
"That's your problem if you find her 'adorable'! I don't want to do anything with you!" I said, "You're being ridiculous!"
"Look... I'm a shrewd businessman," he said, "I know exactly what I am doing right now."
"So you think this is a business deal? And if the answer is yes, why do you think you'd be able to crack this deal?" I shook my head.
"You should give me a chance to explain myself," he said.
"I don't want to give you any chance! I have never heard so much crap in my whole life!" I said as I shook my head, "I'm not even sure why we're having this conversation!"
"Isabella... Just think about it. We'd make a good couple." He said.
"I don't want to think about it!" I said incredulously, "I refuse to believe that you're being serious about anything right now."
"I'm being serious," he said.
"Listen to me," I said, "I don't even know you!"
"That's not a difficult problem to solve," he said, "Let's get to know each other. Do you want to go on a date?"
I wanted to pull my hair.
"This feels like one of those prank calls!" I said with frustration, "Why are you wasting your and my time?"
"I'm being extremely serious right now," he said, "I'm asking you to go on a date with me and then marry me!"
"But I don't want to go on a date with you and I don't want to marry you!" I was pretty sure I almost shouted.
"Okay, so I guess you really want me to share your 'inappropriate' photo with the world!" He said.
"You're blackmailing me!" I shook my head.
"I really don't want to, but you aren't giving me any other choice," he said.
"Okay, go ahead! Share it with the world. I don't care!" I said.
Wait!
What if he actually shared it?
I was scared... But I shouldn't let him blackmail me for God's sake!
"Are you challenging me?" He said.
"Why do you think I'd ever want to marry an asshole like you?" I said, "You're not making any sense right now! Shrewd businessman, my ass!"
"Oh, you're saying this because you're not giving me a chance to explain myself," he said, "How do marriages work in our social circle? It's not based on love for sure! So I'm just proposing that we can have a marriage based on mutual respect if you agree to give this a chance!"
"Mutual respect?" I laughed with sarcasm, "You're blackmailing me! What sort of respect are you talking about?"
"Well, I won't blackmail you if you really give me a chance!" he said.
This guy was ridiculous!
I had no idea what the fuck he was trying to do here!
"I am not going to give you any chance! I don't want to!" I said.
"Fine." he said, "I can't do anything about it if you just want to be Jacob's doormat."
"Excuse me?" I said, "That's none of your business! And I'm not a doormat!"
How dare he call me that!
"Sure!" he said.
How dare he!
"Look, Mr. Edward Cullen!" I said as I gritted my teeth, "I'm warning you... Just leave me alone!"
"Alright..." he said, "I guess it's better to be alone than staying with Jacob as his doormat!"
Oh my God!
He was just... unbelievable!
