Six months ago, Amon and the Equalist were defeated. Since then, the council was disbanded, and the United Republic elected its first president. Tenzin's brother retired and moved to Air Temple Island. Avatar Korra and Sasuke Uchiha have been the talk of the town…

Shinobi Nations: Akatsuki Hideout

A young man with raven black hair and dressed in a black cloak was reading a newspaper which had a picture of Sasuke and Korra on the front page. At this moment, a man with the appearance of a shark, wearing the same cloak, approached.

"Are you going to stare at that paper all day Itachi?" The shark man asked.

"Kisame, this paper contains news about my brother's adventures in a different country." Itachi voiced.

"Your brother, eh?" Kisame looked at the paper. "'Republic City has two new heroes, The Avatar and a young boy from the other side of the world, Sasuke Uchiha. They worked together to save the city from Amon's plan to eradicate Benders and have managed to create a new equality between Benders and Non-Benders'. Interesting, your brother is being called a hero?"

"Apparently, he met this Avatar and rescued this city." Itachi closed his eyes as he put the paper down. "Here I thought he was dead."

Itachi wasn't an idiot. He knew his plans involving Sasuke, as much as he'd have liked them to come to fruition, could end in innumerable ways. While a devastating loss to be sure, at the time he'd pressed on in the other part of the role he played.

Now, he knew his brother was still alive. Despite what seemed to be at play, things could still progress as he hoped they would. Naturally, Itachi portrayed none of this to his partner. Just then, a young man with red hair and the same cloak walked in.

"Oh, didn't expect to see you Sasori." Kisame smiled, yet the young man said nothing.

He was followed by a teenage boy with blond hair and the same cloak as the rest. "The hell is going on here, Itachi!?" He too held his own copy of the newspaper Itachi had been reading and now threw it atop the one Itachi set down. "I think you owe me an explanation!"

"Well, it's nice to see you too Deidara." Kisame greeted. "It's a shame, really. I thought the Akatsuki was the rope that bound us together."

"Shut up, Kisame!" Deidara yelled. "I wasn't talking to you, ha!"

"Let it go, Deidara." Sasori said, and his partner snorted in response. "Itachi, that newspaper. Is it true?"

"Yes. My brother is somewhere on the other side of the world, within the Elemental Nations or Bending Country." Itachi responded. "He's sided with the Avatar."

"Who the is this Avatar?" Deidara asked. "Sounds like a stupid name."

"Clearly, you are ignorant as ever." Sasori commented. "The Avatar is someone from who has the ability to control four elements comprised of water, earth, fire, and air."

"You seriously believe in that garbage, Sasori?" Deidara scoffed.

"It's not garbage, you idiot." Sasori retorted. "I don't know why I'm even bothering to explain this to someone like you."

"Hey!" Deidara yelled.

"What do you want to do about this Itachi?" Kisame asked.

"I'll wait to see how Sasuke develops." Itachi responded.

Elemental Nations: Outside Republic City, Afternoon…

Sasuke was currently underneath a waterfall, within a wide-open field, and was suspending his body upside down on only his fingers. The water cascading down around him would see any lesser Shinobi submerged, yet Sasuke remained on the surface, perfectly still.

Over the Past Six Months…

Sasuke spent these last six months helping Korra bring about genuine equality, spent time with everyone, and trained hard under Utakata. With his memories having returned, and after innumerably test to determine where the Uchiha was in his training, they delved in.

Utakata went about increasing Sasuke's speed, strength, and endurance. He saw to the Uchiha developing his Bender Fist Taijutsu and helped increase his Ninjutsu arsenal by introducing Water Style. He naturally did his best to help progress the boy's Fire and Lightning Styles to.

Eight days prior to how Sasuke presently is, Utakata first introduced this training to him.

"There are many ways to grow stronger." Utakata informed after bringing his student out to what looked like a large earth rampart. "Some people just cannot grow their Chakra reserves as much as others.

Given I'm a Jinchuriki, it's impossible for you to garner anywhere near that much Chakra through training. This is why you will learn absolute Chakra Control. We'll take the control you have and refine it completely."

"How will I go about doing this?" Sasuke asked.

"See this earth rampart here?" Utakata questioned. "I had Bolin fashion this for me because it will suit the Jutsu I'm about to use to give you this training." He lept to the top of the rampart and made a hand sign. "Water Style: Waterfall Basin Jutsu!"

The rampart was now left with a roaring waterfall as Utakata lept back down to his student.

"Are you wanting me to utilize Chakra Control to run up the waterfall?" Sasuke asked.

"That's a decent guess to wager; however, what I have in mind is several notches above even that." Utakata informed. "Aside from your Taijutsu and Ninjutsu training, everything else has been to prep you for success here. Now, it's obvious to me and it should be obvious to you.

While raising your Chakra Reserves is important, you'll never be able to be able to catch up to me in that regard. I hold within me the Six Tailed Beast, a being of immense Chakra. It's like an inch worm attempting to measure an oak."

"Then, what do I do?" Sasuke asked.

"The inch worm can climb the oak if it paces itself." Utakata informed. "Knows when, where, and how much energy to exert. This is your first true hurdle as my student. The capability to not fight stronger but smarter."

Sasuke nodded as everything his master told him made sense. Utakata then demonstrated by sitting on the surface of the water, underneath the waterfall. He couldn't do it properly, being a Jinchuriki shot Chakra Control of this level, but it was enough to give the Uchiha the idea.

"You will sit beneath the waterfall and let it splash around you while keeping yourself afloat." Utakata instructed, coming out from beneath it. "You shall do this until I come get you."

Sasuke took his place under the waterfall. "How long until you return?"

"We'll call the unknown of that part of the training." Utakata informed. "You must either stay afloat or we will simply repeat this step of your refinement until you get it down, I'll know whether you've succeeded or not."

Utakata then took off with the intention of setting up camp. The truth was this is merely one of three exercises he intended to put Sasuke through. He had high hopes the boy would manage it before they were due back to join everyone on their trip to the Southern Water Tribe.

As for Sasuke, he took this refinement process as a challenge. Over these months with the rogue Jonin, Utakata had not steered him wrong as his master. If this was his true first hurdle as the man's student, he would overcome it.

As such, he sat beneath the Waterfall and ended up doing it for over 24 hours. To his best estimate, it was roughly 30. At that mark, Utakata ended up returning and helped his student back onto dry land.

"Alright, seems you managed it." Utakata voiced. "Tomorrow, we go to the next level. Between now and then, you will come to the camp I have prepared. You shall eat, rest, and do whatever is necessary to restore your Chakra."

Sasuke nodded. "Understood."

Come the next day, at the same time, Utakata brought Sasuke back to the Waterfall. "Now, you shall stand under the waterfall on one leg. You will begin on your less dominant leg, transition to your dominant leg for the night, and switch back to your less dominant leg come dawn."

Sasuke got to it as he moved under the waterfall and stood atop his less dominant leg. Like before, Utakata left him there. The racing water felt as though it was peeling skin with how hard it rushed past him. This was far harder than the prior refinement.

With the night, as he switched legs, things became especially brisk. The water temperature dropped considerably to the point Sasuke was almost shivering. He restrained himself as giving into the shivers would surely see him falling into the water.

Sasuke toughed it out, switching his legs for the final time at dawn, until the thirty hours passed and saw the return of Utakata once more. Just like before, Utakata helped him onto dry land before patting his back.

"Good work." Utakata began leading him back to camp. "Tomorrow, we up this training to its final phase."

Sasuke was left to wonder how Utakata could make this training harder. While he was not certain how, he knew ensuring his Chakra and body were refreshed would be crucial. Come the next day, he accompanied his master, who held a plank of wood, back to the waterfall.

"The final refinement is you doing a hand stand under there." Utakata informed.

The moment he was hand standing under the waterfall, Sasuke knew this would make the prior two refinements look like nothing. The water was cold, blood rushed to his head, and he was upside down. This saw the water rushing up his body and attempting to enter his nose.

"The key is absolute Chakra Control of your body and proper breathing methods." Utakata informed. "Do both right, and your stamina will hold out while the waterfall will be incapable of drowning you."

Sasuke managed to do as told, and it became manageable; however, Utakata did not leave this time. He instead took the plank he brought and slide it across Sasuke's feet.

The Uchiha fought to speak. "What are you doing?"

"I've left you alone in the prior two refinements, and I've started to feel bad about it." Utakata hoped up atop the plank and sat across it, forcing Sasuke to find a new balance. "Figured the least I could do was keep you company this time."

Sasuke found this nearly unmanageable. The constantly shifting weight, the ever-changing waterflow, the blood rushing to his head which he must alleviate with proper Chakra Control, the proper breathing, and the fact that Utakata constantly talked to him.

Concentration was near impossible to the point he almost fell multiple times. Every time, Utakata would warn he'd lose where he was in their conversation, and they'd start all over. This was all the incentive Sasuke needed to persevere.

Utakata spent all this time talking strategy and demanded Sasuke engage with him. This only made things more strenuous, but after 20 hours, at sunrise, Utakata finished instructing Sasuke on what he wanted him to learn.

Utakata lept off and removed the plank. "Alright, you're done."

Sasuke fell into the water face first and sank to the bottom. Eventually, he would surface, and the former Jonin went about helping him onto dry land. Like they have the various times before, it was back to the camp.

Outside Republic City, Afternoon…

That is all which led to Sasuke's present state, hand standing on just his fingertips under the waterfall. He did as such, on his own, after a full day and night of rest. Utakata smiled as he came upon this scene.

"Sasuke has a great well of potential." Utakata thought. "With this training behind us, after a good vacation at the coming festival, he'll be ready to truly capitalize on what these last six months have done for him."

That said, there wasn't exactly a hurry to immediately get back. He moved to help Sasuke back onto dry land once again. They'd then spend the rest of the day and night letting Sasuke eat and rest up before heading back to Air Temple Island tomorrow.

Ocean: Near the Southern Water Tribe, Night…

A boat sailed through cold waters Pole as it rained, and a young sailor looked out over the water.

"Your first watch?" An old sailor asked and received a nod in return. "Well then, keep your eyes peeled. You'll never know what creatures lurk in these musky depths."

The young sailor was made nervous while the old sailor laughed.

The young one then noticed something big and glowing swimming through the water. "Sir!"

"What?" The old one asked.

Suddenly, a large black tentacle rose from the water and snatched the old sailor.

"Man overboard!" The young one yelled. "Man overboard!"

More tentacles rose and grabbed hold of the boat, pulling it into the depths.

Republic City: Pro-Bending Arena

"It's Pro-Bending night in Republic City, and have we got a doozy foryou! Fan favorites, the Fire Ferrets, are about to take on the hotnewcomers, the Rhino Lions!" Shiro announced.

Bolin was stood before his new teammates, a male Waterbender and female Firebender.

"Now, we all know our last match was garbage." The Earthbender declared. "Terrible even. Pabu could've done a better job, but that's in the past. When you back a Fire Ferret in the corner, he comes out fighting! Let's get out there and bend like there's no tomorrow!"

The two teammates looked at each other with worry. Still, they headed out and…it was a complete wash as all three Fire Ferrets were knocked into the drink.

"Oooh, the Fire Ferrets go down in the water and enter the record books for fastest knockout in Pro-Bending history!" Shiro announced.

Bolin pulled himself out of the water and onto a platform. "Where's Mako when I need him?"

Streets

Mako rode a police motorcycle with the sirens wailing as he was in hot pursuit of a truck. Its rear door opened to reveal two men. The first bent water out while the second clapped his hands together to create mist hoping to blind the Firebender.

Mako managed to get through the mist, but the first Waterbender bent water onto the road while freezing it. The Firebender melted it with his flames and kept on their tail. The truck rammed through a blockade before a truck came from the following street, blocking Mako off.

He went to the left of the road and gunned it up a truck full of wooden beams which made a ramp. He blasted down fire to gain more air on the leap and sailed over the truck he was pursuing. Mako sent down a powerful fire blast at the truck's engine, destroying it.

The Firebender landed while the truck hit a fire hydrant and flipped. It went skidding a few feet before coming to a complete stop. The men within got out the broken front windshield but collapsed not even a moment later.

"Looks like you had some car trouble." Mako removed his helmet while smiling smugly. "Good thing the police are here."

Sato Airfield: Day…

Asami landed a plane safely before hopping out and approaching one of her engineers. "I think these planes are finally ready to ship."

"I hate to mention the elephant rhino in the room, but since your father was thrown in prison, no company will work with us. We're nearly bankrupt."

"Don't worry." Asami smiled. "I'm going to the Southern Water Tribe to meet with someone, who can help us put Future Industries back on top."

As she walked away, a frown of worry graced her face. Once she was out of sight of the man, she then pulled out an open envelope with Xiba's name on it. Despite him seemingly coming around in the end, she wasn't certain about what it said. Ultimately, she tucked it away once more.

Ocean: Near Republic City

A boat carrying Kakashi Hatake, Shikamaru Nara, Kiba Inuzuka & Akamaru, Rock Lee, Neji Hyuga, and Sakura Haruno sailed ever onward towards the Elemental Nations. More specifically, Republic City.

"Are we there yet?" Kiba asked, bored.

"For the millionth time Kiba, NO!" Shikamaru snapped.

"Ugh, it's been a whole month since we left Konoha." Kiba groaned. "How did Sasuke get all the way over to these Elemental Nations by himself."

"I don't know, but we must find him." Sakura declared firmly.

"Even though he didn't go to Orochimaru, I think the fact he didn't return will mean he won't be happy to see us." Neji voiced. "Regardless, we have our mission."

"I have been ready for this!" Lee declared. "It shall be redemption for failing to retrieve him last time!"

"Don't get overexcited, Lee." Neji warned.

"Sir, we're nearing Republic City now." The captain informed the Jonin.

"Thank you." Kakashi stared out over the water. "We're almost there."

"FINALLY!" Kiba exclaimed with Akamaru barking in agreement.

"Just a little longer, Sasuke…" Sakura muttered as she clenched her fist over her chest.

Shinobi Nations: Konoha, 1 Month Prior…

Kakashi entered the Hokage's office. "Lady Fifth, sorry for bothering you."

"It's alright Kakashi." Tsunade nodded. "Are you here to tell me you've discovered Sasuke Uchiha's whereabouts?"

"Indeed." Kakashi produced a newspaper. "Recently, ships from the Bending Country have been coming in with these newspapers."

Tsunade accepted the paper and read it over. "So, Sasuke is in there, and it seems he's with the Avatar."

"That does appear to be the case." Kakashi agreed.

"Kakashi, you have a new mission." Tsunade put the paper down. "Go to the Elemental Nations, find Sasuke, and bring him back. Additionally, pick five Shinobi to accompany you."

"Yes, Lady Fifth." Kakashi declared.

Elemental Nations: Republic City, Present…

The boat the Konoha Shinobi were on docked.

"Here we are sir." The captain announced. "Republic City, as requested. I don't know why you wanted to come here, but good luck with your mission."

"Thank you." Kakashi responded before he, Sakura, Shikamaru, Kiba, Lee, and Neji disembarked.

"Finally, off that freakin' boat!" Kiba cheered as Akamaru barked happily.

"Get a grip, Kiba." Shikamaru stated. "Anyways, now that we're here, Sasuke could be anywhere." He sighed. "This is going to be such a drag."

"We might get lucky by asking around." Kakashi retorted.

Streets

The six Shinobi moved through the city, which Kiba and Lee marveled at.

"This city is much larger than the village." Lee noted.

"Tell me about it." Kiba agreed. "The buildings are taller, there are all these wheeled things moving around, and ships are flying through the sky. No wonder Sasuke's out here."

"He's coming back, one way or another." On that note, Kakashi approached an elderly man. "Excuse me, I'm looking for a boy who's not from around here. He has black hair and onyx eyes."

"Hmm, oh!" The elderly man smiled. "You must mean the new hero, the Uchiha Shinobi!"

"Sasuke's a 'hero'?" Kiba scoffed. "That dude's nowhere…"

Sakura stomped Kiba's foot making him wince in pain.

"That's it." Kakashi nodded at the man. "Do you know where he is?"

"He lives over on Air Temple Island." The Elderly man pointed to said island. "If he's not there, he's usually somewhere around the city with the Avatar."

"Thank you." Kakashi said before they moved away from the man. "Come on you five, we don't need a ship to get there."

They would simply walk across the water, through their Chakra Control. If Sasuke wasn't there, perhaps they could get the people there to call him back or see about finding him in the city.

Air Temple Island

Korra, Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo were racing around the island atop air scooters while Pema walked down an open corridor. She held Rohan and carried some groceries. As the four flew by her, they nearly knocked her over and she almost tossed the vegetables into the air.

The Airbending racers then moved around the training gates, spinning some of them, before jumping off the platform. Korra and Ikki were neck to neck as the former smirked and entered the Avatar State. She sped on ahead through a paifan gate and managed to reach the finish line.

Bumi waved the flag while Sasuke watched nearby. "The Avatar is the winner!"

"Yes!" Korra cheered.

"No fair!" Ikki exclaimed annoyed. "You can't use the Avatar State to win!"

Korra stuck out her tongue and blew a raspberry.

"You did WHAT?!" A voice asked making everyone, minus Sasuke, jump in surprise. "The Avatar State is not to be used as a booster rocket! You are toying with a dangerous power that you OBVIOUSLY don't appreciate."

"It's the Avatar State and I'm the Avatar." Korra argued. "Who appreciates it more than me?"

"If this shows anything, it's that Korra has an incredible level of control over the Avatar State." Sasuke then looked at said Avatar. "That said, using it to win a race is not something you should be doing."

Korra sheepishly rubbed her head at that.

"Clearly, you need more training to grasp the depths of your spiritual connections." Tenzin voiced. "Not to mention, you're still a long way from mastering Airbending."

Korra scoffed. "I HAVE mastered it!" she threw punches and unleashed many air blasts at trees. "See? Mastered, and I'm not the only one whose been hard at work. From what I've seen, Sasuke has been doing great in his training with Utakata since he got his memory back."

"Oh, oh!" Ikki was excited. "Do we get to see him do more ninja stuff!"

"Yeah!" Meelo cheered while jumping.

"Please?" Jinora asked with an innocent look.

Sasuke sighed with a small smile. "Okay." Sasuke activated his Sharingan and started weaving hand signs. "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" He fired a fireball from his mouth, into the air, before transitioning to something new. "Water Style: Raging Waves."

The Uchiha spewed water from his move before charging lightning to his hand and blitzing forward to thrust it through a tree. "Chidori!" He left a hole through it. "This next thing is something Utakata couldn't teach.

"Still, he did his best help me in developing it." Lightning flowed protectively around him. "Chidori Stream!" He soon ceased it before turning to everyone. "Now, I need someone to volunteer to help me demonstrate my Taijutsu."

"I'll be your opponent." Bumi stepped forward and took a boxer's stance. "I've had some boxing training while in the United Forces."

"Be careful, Uncle Bumi." Jinora warned.

"Don't worry, little lady." Bumi assured. "I won't hurt your new boyfriend. This is just a friendly spar."

Bumi attempted to punch Sasuke, but he moved like a Waterbender by flowing around his opponent before delivering strikes more in line with a Firebender, in that they were quick and strong. He shifted to an Airbender stance and swept his opponent's legs, knocking him down.

"Sorry, Bumi." Sasuke apologized. "Was that too much?"

"Nope, I've…had worse…Good on ya, kid." Bumi got back up. "Oh, my back will feel that in the morning."

"You're amazing, Sasuke." Jinora blushed. "Well, of course, I already knew that."

"I really like that whole Sharbingan." Meelo said.

"It's SHARINGAN, Meelo!" Ikki corrected annoyed. "I liked how you can shoot fireballs, spew water, make lightning, and those really, really, really fast punches and kicks!"

"Chakra, Bloodline Limits, Taijutsu, and Ninjutsu are really fascinating." Jinora added. "I enjoy the times I get to watch you train."

"Thanks." Sasuke said.

"Also, that Curse Mark." Korra noted. "Thought that's always seemed like scary business. Guess we now know why since it came from that criminal, Orochimaru."

"Yeah." Sasuke nodded. "Now that I remember the purpose behind that thing, I'm going to avoid using it unless there's no other choice."

"See, Tenzin?" Korra questioned. "With his Shinobi business, Sasuke's just as powerful as I am."

"Seems to prove it to me." Bumi agreed.

Tenzin face palmed annoyed. "Is it too late for you to unretire from the United Forces?"

"The paperwork's gone through, little brother. From now on, it's twenty-four-seven Bumi time!" Bumi said while grabbing his little brother's cheeks and pinching them.

"Anyways, I'll admit you and Sasuke have trained well with your own techniques." Tenzin voiced. "You, Korra, now need to master REAL Airbending." He took out a scroll and unrolled it to reveal a map of all the air temples. "Hopefully, our visit to all air temples will give you the

inspiration you need to delve more into your studies."

The Avatar was dismayed.

"Can we see where Grandpa Aang was born?" Jinora asked excitedly.

"How many lemurs can I have?" Meelo asked.

"I wanna get tattoos!" Ikki declared. "Instead of arrows, I want lightning bolts!"

"You can't get lightning bolts." Jinora retorted bluntly. "That doesn't make any sense."

"YOU don't make any sense!" Ikki yelled.

The sisters glared at each other while growling.

"Fight, fight, fight!" Meelo chanted.

Tenzin got between the two girls and separated them. "No one's fighting! We're going to have a wonderful time! Besides, Korra needs to focus on her training."

"Isn't that what we've been doing for the past six months?" Korra asked sarcastically.

"Well, you would have mastered Airbending, and your spiritual connections, if you hadn't been sneaking off to spar with Sasuke."

"So, it's my fault?" Sasuke asked.

"No, of course not." Tenzin assured. "Now, that the president is in office, and I'm no longer needed on the council, I can finally relax with my family. As well as give Korra the attention she needs."

"Great, more attention." Korra said annoyed.

"I can't come, can I?" Sasuke asked.

"I'm sorry, but no." Tenzin returned. "Korra needs all the concentration she can get."

"Don't worry." Korra patted his shoulder. "Mako, Bolin, and Asami can look after you."

"I guess." Sasuke relented.

"Ha! Relax…" Bumi chuckled. "I'd pay money to see that. Maybe I'll tag along to see 'Vacation Tenzin'."

"You're not invited." Tenzin retorted annoyed.

"Before we go on your dad's study trip, we'll have some real fun in my home at the Glacier Spirits Festival. They've got rides, games, and all kinds of fried food on sticks."

The Airbender kids all cheered and ran around their father, who had a look of annoyance at this.

"Yep, there's Vacation Tenzin, and you can't stop me from going." Bumi declared smugly. "Mom already invited me."

Sasuke shrugged. "I guess going to the festival can't hurt."

Just then, an Air Acolyte approached. "Tenzin, there are six people here for Sasuke Uchiha."

"What?" Sasuke asked.

"Probably a new fanbase." Korra commented.

Sasuke, Korra, Tenzin, the Air kids, and Bumi arrived at the courtyard.

Sasuke recognized all of them. "Oh, no…"

"What's wrong?" Korra asked concerned.

"SASUKE!" Sakura cheered as she rushed the Uchiha and hugged him. "You are here!"

"Who is this?" Jinora asked, jealous and protective.

"Sakura, my former comrade." Sasuke informed plainly.

"Former?" Sakura asked sadly as she released him.

"So, this is where you've been?" Shikamaru asked.

"Is that a problem?" Sasuke asked.

"That attitude proves you're still you." Shikamaru responded.

"Thought I smelled ya here." Kiba said.

"Whatever, Dog Breathe." Sasuke retorted.

"What'd you say!?" Kiba demanded.

"What are you idiots doing here?" Sasuke asked.

"I thought that would be obvious." Kakashi voiced. "We're here to bring you back to Konoha."

"Kakashi." Sasuke stated bluntly.

"Sasuke, are these people from your former village?" Korra asked.

"Yep, these are my former comrades." Sasuke nodded. "The ones I let go of before ending up here."

"Let…go?" Sakura asked sadly.

"Listen, you can forget it because I'm not going back." Sasuke declared firmly.

"What?" Lee asked, stunned.

"I believe my student was rather clear with you all." Utakata voiced, walking over to the whole group. "He will not be returning to Konoha."

"Your student?" Kakashi asked. "Sasuke, have you really turned yourself away from Konoha?"

"Yes, I have." Sasuke responded. "After spending time with people here in the Elemental Nations, I realized I have a new family, master, and home."

"A new home?" Kiba asked, raising an eyebrow.

"So, you think this country is your home?" Shikamaru asked.

"Yes." Sasuke replied without hesitation.

"Sasuke, what really happened to you?" Sakura asked.

"Naruto and I's final clash saw me losing my memory and falling in the water." Sasuke explained. "Utakata here found me washed up on the river bank and couldn't leave an amnesiac to fend for himself. He took me along with him, and I boarded a boat belonging to his friend.

This friend, Yun, had a mission to find the Avatar. I agreed to come along since I had nothing else to do, far as I was concerned at the time. While I was on that boat, a storm happened, and it was too much to handle. Yun utilized some form of power, seemingly neither Bending or Jutsu.

It transported me to Republic City where I met Korra, who's become a sister to me. Utakata showed up as well, and we seemed to mesh well enough to the point I wanted to learn from him. I also made family of Mako, Bolin, and Asami, who are elder siblings to me in their own rights.

There's also Tenzin, Jinora, Ikki, Meelo, Pema, Lin, and Iroh, who I've come to consider friends. Together, we dealt with an Equalist revolution led by Amon. These past six months, I've trained under Utakata, spent time with these people, and helped Korra show people genuine equality."

"So, it's just like the paper said." Kakashi noted. "You actually helped the Avatar save a city."

"Yes, and through my time here, I've realized I'm happier within the Elemental Nations than I ever was in Konoha." Sasuke stated.

"You? Happy?" Kiba crossed his arms. "I don't think so."

"Doesn't matter what you think." Sasuke retorted. "Nothing you say or do will make me come back."

"You'll be leaving him alone to." Utakata ordered, stepping in front of his student.

"Look, we're not trying to kidnap him." Kakashi assured. "I appreciate you looking after Sasuke, but…"

"He said he doesn't want to go back." Korra joined Utakata in standing protectively before Sasuke. "That's final!"

"Just leave him alone!" Jinora yelled.

"Who do you think you are?" Sakura asked.

"I think I'm someone who likes Sasuke more than you." Jinora retorted.

"What!?" Sakura screeched.

"I'm sorry, but if Sasuke wishes to stay, no one here will force him back." Tenzin informed firmly.

"This is going nowhere." Kakashi sighed. "We don't have much choice but to stick around until he changes his mind."

"No matter what you try, that's not going to happen." Sasuke stated firmly.

"Why are you trying to ruin his happiness?" Korra asked.

"We're not doing that." Lee defended.

"How about we stay with Sasuke for the time being?" Kakashi offered. "If he truly is happy here than he would be in Konoha, we'll leave."

"Kakashi Sensei…" Sakura began.

"What will Lady Fifth think?" Shikamaru asked.

"I'll send a message and inform her of this." Kakashi assured.

"Fine." Korra relented. "Do what you want, but none of you are to bother him, let alone cause him any trouble."

"Excuse me?" Kiba asked offended.

"Fine then." Neji said.

"Whatever." Shikamaru sighed. "This whole thing is such a drag from the get-go."

"Seems we got a deal." Kakashi stated with one of his eye smiles.

"I suppose." Tenzin said.

"C'mon, Sasuke." Jinora said while taking Sasuke with her.

That certainly angered Sakura. "THAT FLOOZY!"

Neji looked at the Jonin, as the Konoha Shinobi walked away. "You sure about this?"

"I believe Sasuke when he said he's happier here, but I want to see it." Kakashi responded.

"I guess…" Kiba said.

"That taller girl that was protective of Sasuke, was she the Avatar?" Shikamaru asked.

"That's right." Kakashi said.

"Apparently, they have some sort of sibling bond." Kiba scoffed. "How's that possible?"

"Perhaps they were fated to meet." Neji said.

"I suppose we will see their bond." Lee smiled. "I look forward to seeing this new Sasuke."

Later…

Sasuke and Korra were in the courtyard waiting for their friends to show up. As they tend to do, Mako, Bolin, and Asami did arrive.

"Ready?" Korra asked.

"Yeah." Mako said.

"All set and pumped!" Bolin cheered.

"Ready." Asami said.

"Great." Sasuke nodded. "Asami, good luck with your business deal."

Asami smiled and ruffled his hair. "Thanks, Sasuke."

Kiba and Lee watched this.

"Oh, he's happy with them and not US?" Kiba asked offended.

"He has spent over half a year here, Kiba." Lee voiced.

They then approached with the other four Konoha Shinobi.

"You're coming too?" Sasuke asked, clearly unhappy.

"Yeah, problem?" Kiba asked.

"Just stay away from me." Sasuke retorted, making Sakura sad again.

"Whatever." Shikamaru said bluntly.

"I've got my eye on you." Korra said sternly.

"Uh, you guys friends of Sasuke's?" Bolin asked.

"Good question." Kiba commented annoyed. "I have no idea."

"I certainly wouldn't call them 'friends'." Korra responded.

"Kakashi Hatake from Konoha." Kakashi greeted. "I was Sasuke's Jonin instructor from before he met Utakata. You must be Mako, Bolin, and Asami."

"Uh, yes." Asami said.

"You did your homework." Mako noted.

"Well, I suppose it would be fitting for Sasuke's new family to be acquainted with his 'former comrades'." Kakashi said, eye smiling.

"Uh, sure." Bolin replied uncertainly. "Thanks, I guess."

Ocean: Night…

Once the ship arrived, everyone boarded, and they were off to the Southern Water Tribe. Sasuke, Korra, and Mako were on a lower deck, resting against Naga, as they listened to Mako's cop story.

"…I walked up and said, 'Looks like you had some car trouble. Good thing the police are here'." Mako finished.

Korra giggled. "Did you write that beforehand?"

"Yeah!" Mako took out a list from his jacket. "I had a few others."

"You actually made a list of comebacks?" Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "Seriously?"

"I think it's cute." Korra argued.

"You think giving bloody noses is cute." Sasuke retorted.

"In my defense, those guys were getting too close to Korra for my comfort." Mako shrugged. "Besides, I was just the first to act. You certainly looked eager to engage and Korra wasn't that far behind you."

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Whatever."

"Anyways, show us what else you got so far." Korra said.

"Okay, let's see, uh…Oh! 'Looks like you guys should put more 'try' in triad'." Mako said.

"Next." Sasuke said bluntly.

"How about this; 'When you get to jail, tell 'em Mako sent ya'." Mako tried.

"Ooh, I like that one." Korra said.

"Okay, I'll try that next time." Mako said.

Sasuke shrugged. "Nothing special."

"Does anything ever impress you?" Mako asked.

"It depends." Sasuke said.

"So serious, as always." Mako ruffled the Uchiha's hair. "Oh, Beifong said if I keep up the good work, she'll promote me to detective soon."

"You should have led with that because it's actually impressive." Sasuke voiced.

Mako smiled. "Finally, got your approval."

"That sounds fun compared to how all I do is train." Korra sighed. "It seems like Tenzin won't let me catch a break. It feels like I'm just stuck in a rut sometimes."

Mako placed a hand on her shoulder. "Tenzin's just trying to help you become the best Avatar you can be."

"He's right." Sasuke agreed. "Don't even think about saying 'Of course you two would take his side' because this isn't about taking sides. If it wasn't for Tenzin, you wouldn't have improved your Airbending as you have."

"See?" Mako asked.

"You're right." Korra got up and walked away. "I think I'll go for a walk."

"Korra." Sasuke tried but she was gone.

"Sometimes, it's easier busting triads than getting through one conversation with my girlfriend." Mako sighed.

"Don't take it personally." Sasuke shrugged. "Korra just needs to blow off some steam. You and I know she's not the most patient person, yet she always comes around in the end."

"Yeah." Mako nodded before looking his way. "Hey, I've been wanting to ask about those guys from Konoha, you're not too happy to see them?"

"In case you didn't notice, I left the village and let go of everyone I met there." Sasuke voiced. "At this point, can't say I'd ever do the same for the people I met here."

"Well, you know, after you chose to stay with us you've been better." Mako voiced. "I'm sure you can make amends with them."

"Hn." Sasuke said.

"Just saying." Mako said.

"I know." Sasuke relented. "Maybe later. Right now, I don't want anything to do with them."

Unbeknownst to them, Sakura had overheard. She departed before ultimately finding a place to sit and drew her knees up to her chest. The Kunochi started to tear up, so she hit her face in her legs.

Southern Water Tribe: Days Later, Morning

Jinora, Ikki, and Meelo got off the boat and excitedly ran towards two figures on the dock. One was Katara while the second was a middle-aged woman with white hair tied to a half-bun. She wore a blue choker, blue earrings, and a blueparka.

"Gran-Gran!" The children cheered, hugging Katara.

"Oh…you've all gotten so big." Katara said.

"We've missed you, Aunt Kya." Jinora said.

"Ooh, I missed you too." Kya declared happily. "Your father doesn't bring you to visit nearlyenough." She lightly punched his arm. "He's probably scared I'll beat him up, like when we werekids."

"I'm not scared you…anymore." Tenzin said, slightly timidly and rubbing his arm.

"I didn't think Tenzin had a sister either." Sasuke commented.

"Like I said, I don't think he likes mentioning them." Korra said.

"This is the Southern Water Tribe?" Kiba, like almost every Konoha Shinobi, wore their cloaks yet was still shivering. "It's so COLD!"

"Who would have thought the Southern Water Tribe would be cold." Shikamaru retorted sarcastically.

"My hot-bloodedness can handle this cold weather!" Lee declared, being the only one of them not in his cloak.

"Lee…" Neji threw his teammate the cloak he should be wearing. "…put your cloak on."

Sakura got off the boat and saw Sasuke with Korra as they hugged the Avatar's parents.

"You remember Mako." Korra said.

Mako extended his hand. "Sir."

"I hope you're not getting my daughter into more trouble in the city." Tonraq voiced sternly.

"Uh…no…I…" Mako tried.

"Dad, stop it." Korra said playfully causing Tonraq to laugh good naturedly and shake his hand. "And you obviously remember Sasuke."

"Hey." Sasuke said.

"How could I forget the boy who has always been there for my daughter?" Tonraq gave him another hug. "You have no idea how happy I am to see you, son. I see you as my own."

Sasuke smiled. "Thanks."

"Even here the Avatar's parents treat him like they're own." Kakashi eye smiled upon seeing this. "My, how you've formed bonds Sasuke."

"Wow! Look at all these people who came to greet us!" Bolin declared, looking at the crowd.

"Um, no." Korra pointed to a large, Northern Water Tribe ship arriving at the docks to clapping and cheering. "They came to greet them."

"That is one impressive ship." Lee commented.

"Why make such a big deal out of this?" Shikamaru asked.

"The great chief of the Northern Water Tribe comes to grace us with his presence." Tonraq did responded to Shikamaru but did it sarcastically. "Hooray."

"Just relax, Tonraq." Senna soothed. "He'll be gone soon enough."

The plank of the ship lowered to allow a younger man that Tonraq to disembark. He has long dark hair with two strains on both sides and wore a long dark purple robe.

"So, that's the Chief of the Northern Tribe." Utakata noted.

"Yes." Tonraq said, clearly unhappy.

Behind the Chief were two teenagers who look identical to each other with the same, emotionless expressions on their faces.

"Whoa, who are the lovely ladies?" Bolin asked.

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Here we go…"

"That's Eska and Desna, the Chief's children, and Desna's a guy by the way." Korra said while slightly amused by friend's shocked expression.

"Oh, sure. I knew that." Bolin tried to cover. "Uhh…which one's Desna?"

"Don't bother." Shikamaru sighed. "Girls are a drag."

Korra smacked his head while Sakura elbowed him in the gut, both most certainly annoyed with him.

The Northern Chief then approached Korra and bowed. "Good to see you again, Avatar Korra."

Korra bowed in return. "Good to see you too."

The Chief then noticed Sasuke. "You must be Sasuke Uchiha, the new Shinobi hero of our country."

"You heard of me?" Sasuke asked.

"Of course." The chief nodded. "I have heard much of your adventures with the Avatar in Republic City, and how you helped her defeat Amon. An impressive feat for someone your age."

"Thanks." Sasuke was sizing him up carefully. "He seems okay, yet something…something isn't quite right here."

Sasuke couldn't explain why he was feeling this way, but his gut just seemed inclined not to trust this man. That was peculiar since Korra seemed to have a decent impression of her own uncle. With the Chief done greeting them, he turned to Tonraq, and they shared uneasy expressions.

"Tonraq." The Chief said in a cold manner.

"Brother." Tonraq returned.

Southern Water Tribe: Later…

Everyone arrived at the festival where there are booths, games, rides, and people having fun.

"This place is lively." Sasuke commented.

"I know, right?" Korra agreed.

"Choji would have a field day here." Shikamaru commented.

"It's a shame the Southerners have abandoned all connections to the spirits, even during hallowed times." The chief, Unalaq said.

"I've always loved the Glacier Spirits Festival." Korra voiced. "It's fun."

"This festival used to be a solemn time of fasting and meditation." Unalaq voiced. "Now, it's just a chance to watch some rubes try to stick entire arctic hens in their mouths."

As if on cue, they saw Bolin and Kiba attempting to do just that.

"What?" Kiba asked.

"It's so good." Bolin added.

Korra shook her head in amusement.

"Traditions change." Tonraq stated. "It's not the end of the world."

"Tell that to the sailors who are being attacked by angry spirits in Southern waters." Unalaq retorted. "Some traditions have purpose."

"Wait, spirits are attacking ships?" Korra asked and received a nod in return.

"I'm surprised the Avatar doesn't know about that." Unalaq said to Tonraq before then turning to Korra. "Apparently, you haven't been given all the information. It would be my honor to instruct you in the spiritual ways of the Water Tribe."

"I wouldn't mind learning about fighting spirits." Korra commented. "After all, it feels like I've been getting nowhere in Airbending lately."

"Korra, you know Airbending hasn't been that terrible." Sasuke voiced.

"I know, but you must admit learning about spirits would be a great experience." Korra reasoned.

"Tenzin is Korra's instructor." Tonraq voiced seriously. "He can give her all the training she needs."

"So, you've said." Unalaq said, walking away.

Once he was out of earshot, Sasuke looked to Korra. "For some reason, I can't bring myself to trust him."

"You're doubting Unalaq?" Korra asked.

"I just have a gut feeling." Sasuke crossed his arms. "I'll keep it to myself."

"It's okay Sasuke." Korra gave him a smile and rested a hand on his shoulder. "I want to know any time you have suspicions. That said, Unalaq does seem to know a lot about spirits."

"Yeah." Sasuke nodded. "I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt." He shrugged. "Maybe I'm just projecting from our prior experiences with Tarrlok and Amon."

"Maybe." Korra nodded. "Still, I'll admit you've always had good instincts." She patted his shoulder before removing her hand. "Keep me posted on your feelings."

"Right." Sasuke nodded. "Beyond that, we should see about looking into these angry spirits because I doubt any of that will simply go away."

"I agree." Korra said.

"Maybe I can…" Sakura began.

"Stay out of this." Sasuke interrupted sternly, causing her to step back.

"We are just trying to help." Lee offered.

"We don't need YOUR help." Sasuke retorted, walking off.

Kakashi sighed.

"What an asshole." Kiba said.

"Speak for yourself." Korra voiced, following Sasuke.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Kiba asked, offended.

Docks

Asami and Bolin arrived at a large white ship.

"I'm glad you came with me to this meeting." Asami stated. "Varrick is one of therichest men in the world, and he controls the entire global shippingbusiness. So, you're my assistant. Just stand there and don't say anything."

"No problem." Bolin voiced. "Pabu and I are natural assistants." They boarded the ship. "Man, this is nice! I got to get into this whole business thing."

They entered the yacht and found a tan skinned man, wearing blue fancy clothing, sitting on a cushion with his eyes closed and fingers pressed against his head in concentration. An emotionless looking woman stood next to him writing on a notepad while others looked on.

"Did you see that? Levitation!" The man exclaimed excitedly. "I was a foot off the ground!" The guests clapped. "Is that incredible or what?"

"How does he do that?"

"That's unbelievable."

"That's amazing."

The man stood up and bowed as Asami clapped too; however, Bolin scratched his head. "You looked like you were just sitting on a pillow."

Asami face palmed in embarrassment as everyone, including the man, looked at the Earthbender.

"Are you saying I wasn't levitating?" The man asked.

"Uh…no?" Bolin answered nervously.

"Well, why didn't anyone say anything? Now, I look like an idiot!" He pointed at another man wearing a red hat. "Swami, you're fired!" The man glared at Bolin before bowing and leaving. "I like you, kid!

You're a real straight shooter, just like me! Miss Sato, he's with you?" Asami nodded. "Brought your tiger shark with ya to do business, huh? Now that's moxie! Get over here and pop a squat. Zhu Li, get me some tea for my guests!"

Zhu Li does so.

"Thank you for meeting with me." Asami stated. "As you know, Future Industries is looking for a partner to handle our shipping."

"Sure! First, you two got to check out my new venture! Moving pictures! Zhu Li, do the thing!" Varrick ordered, and Zhu Li started a projector. "You'll love this!" It was a moving picture of an ostrich-horse. "Mind-blowing, isn't it?"

"Yeah." Bolin replied, amazed.

"Now, forget that! That's the past! Shut it off, Zhu Li!" Varrick ordered as Zhu Li does so. "Imagine watching this! Ginger, come over here and do your poses."

A red-haired woman wearing a white coat entered the room and started doing many poses while lights flash in the background. Bolin was drooling.

"Spectacular!" Varrick declared. "We tell a story; there's romance, action, some funny animal stuff for the kids. You know, whatever! Thanks, Ginger. Go rest some gams." Ginger left. "How about that, tiger shark? We're gonna do big business with these movers, as I call them."

"Okay, but I'm just concentrating on getting Future Industries back on track." Asami stated. "If we could hammer out a deal…"

"Stop! Look at me in the eye!" Varrick got close to Asami's face and stared her down. "We've got a deal! We'll hammer out the details at the royal feast tonight. Now, who wants a rocket boat ride!?"

The guests cheered and left with him.

"Is that how business goes?" Bolin asked.

"You are a natural assistant." Asami declared happily before hugging Bolin and ruffling his hair.

Royal Dinner: Night…

Sasuke got to sit with Korra, her parents, Unalaq, Desna, and Eska at the head table. That suited him just fine since it was plenty far from his former comrades.

"This is a wonderful feast in your honor, Uncle." Korra spoke.

"This is nothing." Unalaq stated. "When this festival was founded, the tribal elders would commune for spirits. People would watch the brilliant displays of light as spirits danced in the sky."

"Wow, I've never seen that." Korra said intrigued.

"Well, that's a shame." Unalaq returned. "The Avatar is the bridge between the material world and the spirits. That is why I want so badly to teach you. To help you fulfill your destiny."

"I thought I made it clear Tenzin was teaching her." Tonraq said sternly.

"Every Avatar before her traveled the world to learn." Unalaq informed. "It was Tenzin and your father who kept you secluded."

"Wait, what?" Korra asked.

"I thought Aang ordered the White Lotus to keep me down here." Korra said.

"We all did what we thought was best for you." Tonraq said.

"Who I train should be MY decision, dad." Korra crossed her arms sternly. "Not yours or Tenzin's."

"Admittedly, it didn't do wonders for her understanding of how the world worked." Sasuke agreed with Korra. "She told me how she stopped at a stand, shortly before we met, and didn't know you had to pay to get food. Sounds like she could have used that real world experience.

From across the room, Tenzin, Bumi, Kya, and Katara were sitting together at their own table, and they overheard the conversation.

"Looks like someone's trying to take your place as the Avatar's stick in the mud mentor." Bumi said while nudging Tenzin's arm.

"Bumi, don't pick on Tenzin." Kya voiced. "You know he's always been sensitive."

"I'm not sensitive!" Tenzin yelled, crossing his arms.

Bumi and Kya laughed while Katara, who is holding Rohan, watched with a serious look.

Unalaq then stood. "As your chief, it is my honor to speak at this festival, which was founded to bring our tribes together as well as restore the ancient balance between our world and that of the spirits. I confess I am saddened to see what it has become.

It is nothing more than a cheap carnival that celebrates greedy and trivial humans. I feel the time is fast approaching when the North can no longer stand idly by while our Southern brothers slip into spiritual decay. I only hope we can change course before it is too late."

"Chief Unalaq everybody, always great to have him in town." Varrick suddenly announced to get things back on track. "Now, let's have some fun with Wacky Wushu's Dancing Otter Penguins!"

A man dressed in purple danced onto the stage and bent a stream of water onto a platform. Three otter penguins slid along the water before sliding back and taking a bow.

Southern Water Tribe

Korra, Mako, and Bolin were together with the Firebender feeding his girlfriend some cotton candy. She returned the favor. The Earthbender was eating spheres of food off a stick when he saw Desna and Eska alone.

Bolin cleared his throat. "Wish me luck because I'm making a move!"

He dashed off.

"Good luck." Mako said.

"Those two have always creeped me out." Korra admitted. "They smell like a grandma's attic."

Bolin arrived near Desna and Eska. "Hey, Eska! I'm Bolin. A friend of Korra's! Wow, I'm just loving these robes." Eksa hissed at him making the Earthbender back off. "So, you're from the North, right? Cool, that's my favorite direction."

"I think he's trying to establish some kind of bond with you based on geographic point of origin." Desna said in a monotoned voice.

"Perhaps it will be interesting to spend time with a person whose ways are so rough and uncultured." Eska said in the same monotoned voice. "You amuse me. I'll make you mine."

"You mean like a boyfriend or slave…?" Bolin asked uncertainly.

"Yes." Eska grabbed Bolin's collar. "Win me prizes."

She dragged him away with Desna following.

Meanwhile, Sasuke was walking through the carnival, trying to avoid his former comrades, when he found Korra and Mako. "Hey."

"Oh, hey." Korra greeted. "Trying to get away from those Konoha Shinobi?"

"Yes." Sasuke shook his head. "Being with them is a pain. Reminds of my life in Konoha."

"So, you're not trying to amends?" Mako asked.

"That's not my priority." Sasuke responded. "Anyways, I'm going to explore this carnival more."

Later…

Korra and Mako were playing a water squirting game where they fire water at a chibi Aang.

"Unalaq offered to train me." Korra spoke. "He said he can teach me about thespirits and my connection with them."

"Sounds good." Mako smiled. "What does Tenzin think?"

"Tenzin thinks I'm one of his kids." Korra replied frustrated. "I feel like, at the rate we're going, I'll just be stuck in this rut I've found myself in. I also feel like those people from Konoha view Sasuke as their prisoner.

I mean, sure he left for revenge, but at least he's not going out to do it again. Now, his former comrades have been sent to retrieve him when it's clear he doesn't want to go. I just think he and I have every right to decide where we want to be."

She'd become so irritated and angry, that she Waterbent a ton of water into chibi Aang's mouth.

"We have a winner!"

Korra won a stuffed plush of Appa before they moved on. "I really think Unalaq might be onto something. I mean, you heard what he said, the South is spiritually unbalanced, and it's the Avatar's job to fix it. My dad won't even let me think about Unalaq teaching me."

"What does Sasuke think?" Mako asked.

"Sasuke has his suspicions about Unalaq, but he's unsure." Korra responded. "I just told him to trust his feelings. I know for a fact he'll support me, no matter what decision I make, but if he does find something wrong, he'll tell me.

I want to hear your opinion too. I think I should learn more about the spirits, but there's Tenzin to consider in all this. I just want to be sure if I'm making the right decision. What do YOU think I should do?"

Mako stopped as he seriously considered her question and everything they've been talking about.

"I think Tenzin and Tonraq are good people who made a mistake from a genuinely good place." The Firebender eventually came up with something. "That mistake made you who you turned out to be, and I can't fault them for that since I love who you are.

It's exactly that reason and knowing who you are that I think perhaps it is time you seek out your own teacher rather than having one provided. That said, don't forget what the teachers you have had did for you and be careful moving forward. Sasuke's gut isn't usually wrong."

"That's…actually decent advice." Korra admitted.

"I'm trying my best." Mako smiled. "In the end, whatever you decide, I'll support you."

Korra gave him a kiss. "Thanks, Mako."

Over with Sasuke, he was walking around the booths when Sakura approached him. "There you are." The Uchiha sighed. "I was wondering if you wanted to check out some rides with me."

"Forget it." Sasuke retorted before walking off.

"You know, you should leave him alone." Utakata voiced, coming up behind her. "While I don't think it'll lead to him returning to Konoha, it might enable him to actually think over how he feels about your lot."

"Don't pretend you know Sasuke." Sakura retorted.

"I think after months, six months of that being as his master, I'd know him quite well." Utakata stated. "Better than you do, in fact. After all, you're not very considerate of his feelings. He wants to be away from you to think so let him have it."

With his piece said, the former Jonin walked off.

Kakashi had seen and heard the whole conversation. "This whole thing is getting complicated."

Huts: Later…

Korra, Sasuke, and Naga were asleep within the hut they'd been given when the latter work up and ran outside. This certainly got the attention of the other two within the hut.

"Uh, Naga?" Korra asked groggily. "What are you doing?"

Naga howled, really getting the two humans wide awake as they went outside after her.

"Naga, hush!" Sasuke ordered.

"Naga, you'll wake everyone up." Korra added.

All the Shinobi started to come out.

"What's going on?" Kakashi asked.

"What's happening?" Neji asked.

"Not your concern." Sasuke answered coldly.

"No, you don't." Kiba declared firmly. "We want to know what's going on!"

"What is going on?" Utakata asked as Bolin and Mako joined them.

"Hey, I see something." Sasuke pointed out.

Korra looked where he pointed to see some dark-colored entity in the distance.

"What is that?" Korra asked.

The creature suddenly blitzed forward and slammed into Korra before following to pin her up against a rock. She could see its yellow orbs for eyes.

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" The ball of fire struck the creature in the back, forcing it to release Korra and turn its gaze to Sasuke who had his Sharingan active. "Get away from her!"

Korra took this opportunity to make her way over to Sasuke while Mako and Bolin joined the fray. They unleashed their respective elements as the creature slithered through whatever they tried. It then slammed into the brothers.

"This is for interrupting my sleep." Shikamaru made the hand sign of his clan. "Shadow Possession Jutsu!" His shadow snaked forward and attached to the shadow of the creature."No escape. Now, Kiba and Lee!"

"Let's go, Akamaru!" Akamaru barked as he transformed into Kiba, and they began spinning together. "Fang over Fang!"

They spun fast and struck the creature.

"Leaf Hurricane!" Lee yelled.

He delivered a spinning strike at the creature, but beyond stunning it, there didn't seem to be an effect. The creature suddenly shifted and moved before managing to resist Shikmaru's hold. With its newfound freedom, the creature slammed all three of them away.

"What is that thing?" Sakura asked.

"Sakura, heal them." Kakashi ordered. "Neji, with me!"

Neji activated his Byakugan, and they charged in. The Hyuga went on ahead and began striking out with his gentle fist to buy time for Kakashi weaving through hand signs.

"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" Kakashi yelled.

A water dragon was created and sent at the creature as Neji used the Substitution Jutsu to replace himself with snow. The dragon struck the creature with enough force to push it into the cliff. Utakata took advantage of the situation by firing off bubbles.

They proceeded to pick up the creature and lift it into the air as it became nothing but ink. "Time to finish this."

The bubble burst into a splatter ink which plopped onto the snow, presumably leaving no trace of the creature. Before anyone could celebrate, the ink reformed into the creature. It's body was now a dark black as it flowed like a liquid.

"Not going to lie, thought you had that one." Kakashi stated.

"Sasuke, I think you should activate your Curse Mark." Korra said.

"Not unless it's my last resort." Sasuke wove through more hand signs. "Water Style: Water Shuriken!"

Multiple water shuriken were formed and launched at the creature; however, it dodged every one of them to charge the Uchiha.

"Earth Style: Mud Wall Jutsu!" Kakashi created a mud wall in the creature's path, but it slithered around it on a dime.

It was still heading for Sasuke when bubbles swarmed the Uchiha and formed around him, curtesy of Utakata. He was sent rolling a few feet away just as the creature reached where he'd been. The bubble then popped, freeing him.

"Korra! Sasuke!" Tonraq called.

The man slid in on the ice and used his Waterbending to make ice which he utilized to encase the spirit. The now inky creature burst multiple tentacles out and utilized the moment to grab Tonraq, Korra, Utakata, Sasuke, and Kakashi. It immediately threw them into huts.

The creature then fully broke free before Tenzin ran up to it. "Spirit, why are you angry with us? What have we done to offend you?"

The spirit looked at the Airbender with scorn and swatted him away with its tentacles.

"There's no stopping that thing!" Kiba shouted.

"There's one way…" Korra looked at Sasuke. "You ready now?"

"I still haven't tried everything, but I'm not certain those would work at this point." Sasuke nodded. "Let's do it."

Korra entered the Avatar State while Sasuke entered the second stage of his Curse Mark. The spirit turned to the pair before charging them. They dodged the attack with Korra corralling the spirit with powerful blasts of fire.

Sasuke stayed back and charged the black lightning to his hand. When he was ready, the Uchiha surged past Korra, heading right for the spirit. It attempted to slither away, but the Avatar had shifted focus, moving around the circumference and corralling with air.

This gave Sasuke a clear shot as he thrust his lightning cover hand into the spirit. "Chidori!"

He yelled while pumping more Chakra into the Jutsu, attempting to keep it up for as long as possible. The creature cried out in agony as it seemingly dissolved into inky black particles. Once it was nothing but those particles, Sasuke lept back to Korra.

Both watched on, uncertain if this was it. To be fair, it seemed like this could very well be the end until some strange purple energy started connecting the particles back together. It was slow, yet clearly this spirit wasn't done…weather that was its doing or some outside force's.

"This time, I'll eradicate the particles to!" Sasuke shouted, starting to recharge his Chidori.

"Wait Sasuke." Korra left the Avatar State and put a hand on his shoulder. "Look."

Suddenly, a stream of water surrounded the slowly fusing particles, curtesy of Unalaq. The water flowed around the particles while glowing a bright yellow. The inky, black particles turned the same color as they fully reformed the spirit. It then began to walk away and disappeared.

"Go in peace." Unalaq said, placing his hands together.

Sasuke now reverted to normal. "That was something new."

"Amazing." Kakashi marveled.

"Korra! Sasuke!" Tonraq yelled as he and Tenzin ran over to them.

"Are you two alright?" Tenzin asked.

Korra ignored them and ran up to her uncle. "How were you able to control that spirit when no one else could?"

"As your father could tell you, I spent my life studying the spirits and learning their ways." Unalaq responded. "All this knowledge is lost in the South, but I could teach you."

"Chief Unalaq, you are clearly very knowledgeable, but Korra still has much to learn about Airbending. Additionally, I hope that going to the air temples will help her connect with the past Avatars."

Korra grunted in annoyance.

"The air temples will teach her nothing." Unalaq retorted. "Only I can give her the training she needs to be a complete Avatar."

"Can I say something?" Sasuke asked.

"I've told you that will not happen!" Tonraq yelled.

"Listen to me!" Sasuke shouted, finally getting their attention. "Standing here and deciding her future for her is all you've been doing since we got here. It's annoying!" Tonraq and Tenzin hung their heads. "Give HER a chance to decide what she wants!"

"It's okay." Korra placed her hand on the Uchiha's shoulders. "I'll handle this."

"Korra, please listen…" Tenzin tired.

"No, for once, both of you are listening to me." Korra interrupted firmly. "You kept me locked up, telling me you know what's best, but both of you were powerless against the spirit. Something is clearly wrong with them, and it's getting worse. If nothing is done, other people could be hurt. I think I should train under Unalaq."

"Korra…" Tonraq tried.

"Unalaq has proven he's got things I could stand to learn from him." Korra interrupted.

"I know you're angry, but we've come this far." Tenzin said.

"I'm not angry. I'm just…" Korra sighed. "Look, Tenzin, I'm sorry, but I think this is something I must do."

Tenzin was conflicted but ultimately accepted her decision with a bow. "It has been a pleasure serving you, Avatar Korra."

Korra gave him her own bow back.

Southern Water Tribe: Morning

Tenzin was now loading things on Oogi while Pema, Ikki, and Meelo were all seated.

"I think you forgot a couple of things." Katara voiced, getting her son to turn and see his siblings by her side.

"Mother, I think I need some time alone with my family." Tenzin said.

"This is your family, Tenzin." Katara smiled wistfully. "When you get to be my age, you'll be thankful for the time you had with your siblings. Besides, I think it's important you all visit your father's home together."

"C'mon!" Bumi lightly punched his shoulder. "It'll be fun!"

Kya approached with her arms cross. "I'm dying to see this laid back, Vacation Tenzin I've heard so much about."

"Alright, hop on." Tenzin then hugged Katara. "I love you, Mom." He noticed Bumi was having trouble getting on, so he Airbent him up. "See you soon." The master hoped on before noticing something. "Where's Jinora?"

"Saying goodbye to Sasuke." Ikki said.

With Sasuke & Jinora

Said pair were well away from the bison.

"It's too bad we got to separate." Jinora said.

"I know, but I have to be here for Korra." Sasuke shrugged. "Besides, we'd have separated here anyways…it's just happening a few days earlier than intended."

"I know." Jinora nodded before hugging him. "Kora will need you now more than ever."

Sasuke hugged her back. "Have fun, kid."

Sakura had found them and was now peeking out from behind a booth with an expression that conveyed jealousy and disdain.

Southern Water Tribe

Korra, Sasuke, and Jinora approached the bison with the latter getting on.

"Tenzin, wait." Korra said.

"Yes?" Tenzin asked.

"I have something to say." Korra stated regretfully. "I…"

"Don't apologize." Tenzin interrupted. "Maybe I was holding you back."

"I do want to apologize but not for that." Korra stated. "I'm sorry for hurting you last night. I just feel like I must deal with the dark spirits and save them from the despair they're going through. After I finish training under Unalaq, I'd still like to come finish Airbending under you."

Tenzin blinked in surprise before smiling and leaping back down to the ground. "I am happy to hear that." He hugged her. "I'm still uncertain about your choice, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. I hope things go well for you."

Korra hugged him back. "Thank you, Master Tenzin."

Tenzin backed away from her. "Good luck, Avatar Korra." He lept back aboard his bison. "Oogi, yip yip!"

The sky bison took off as Mako joied Korra and Sasuke.

"Do you think I did the right thing?" The Avatar asked both.

"You handled everything about as well as could be expected." Mako stated.

"You and Tenzin came to an understanding." Sasuke added.

Just then, Unalaq arrived. "I know this was a hard decision Korra, but it was the right one. Now, it's time to put it behind you and begin your new training. I have great plans for you."

"That doesn't sound settling." Sasuke noted internally.

Kakashi then arrived. "Can I have a word with Sasuke, please?"

"What do you want?" Korra asked annoyed.

"We just need to talk." Kakashi assured.

"Korra, it's fine." Sasuke said.

Korra nodded and left with Unalaq; however, she did fire back an annoyed look at the Jonin. Sasuke let that stew for a moment before starting to walk off, prompting Kakashi to join him.

"What?" The Uchiha asked.

"I know how you felt about us coming for you, and I've seen you're happier here than in Konoha; however, I feel we should still be here for a while longer. I know you don't view us as your comrades, but that doesn't change the fact you still are. All I ask is to treat us like your comrades and work with us, okay?"

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "Fine."

"Good." Kakashi began leading him over to the other five Konoha Shinobi. "I look forward to working with you again. I've also already sent a message to Lady Tsunade about this, so it will be fine."

Upon reaching the others, Sakura was smiling and blushing, Kiba turned his head away annoyed, Shikamaru looked at him bluntly, Lee gave a thumbs up with a grin, and Neji just nodded.

"I will say right now there are two conditions." Sasuke declared. "One, my main comrades are Utakata Sensei and the members of Team Uchiha Avatar. Two, you give me my space and don't get in my way."

"Fair enough." Kakashi stated with an eye smile before Sasuke walked away. "He's certainly changed for the better but has yet to trust us. Hopefully, through this, we can make amends soon."

I'd like to start by talking timelines. Naruto to Naruto Shippuden was a two and a half-year time skip in the anime, and a three-year time skip in the manga. I've decided to adhere to the manga length. Now, Legend of Korra's first season doesn't have a concrete timeline from the moment Korra completes her Firebending test to when the book ends.

I've decided to just say from the moment Korra completes that test to the moment Book 1 completes is a nice, round three months. During this time, I'd imagine by mere days given Naruto's healing factor, our blond Uzumaki started his three-year training trip with Jiraiya. With Book 2 picking up six months after the events of Book 1, that means were are currently nine months into the Naruto to Naruto Shippuden time skip.

To put it another way, 27 months out from the start of Naruto Shippuden. What exactly does this mean for Legend of Korra's own eventual three-year time skip. Well, I don't want to give too much away, but I will tell you all I am mulling over ideas. One such idea is that there is theoretically a way to cut down the time frame of that time skip. We'll see as I still have two more books to get through, at this rate, before that becomes something to deal with.

Now, moving onto this chapter. As you may remember, Sasuke was laid out in a hospital bed for a good chunk of the one-month training period for the final phase of the Chunin Exams. In fact, I believe Sasuke only really had two weeks to train. In that time, Kakashi taught him Chidori and Taijutsu speeds equivalent to unweighted Lee. In my mind, everything he learned with Utakata here should be possible. Especially with the copying prowess of the Sharingan.

Now, six Shinobi from Konoha show up wanting to take Sasuke back to Konoha and will be along for the ride this book. Given Sasuke's influence, Korra is far less harsh. Additionally, given Sasuke and Mako have a lot of similarities, the Firebender has had an example on how to interact with Korra better than we see their relationship be in canon. Not to mention how Sasuke held the three older teens accountable more for past relationship blunders.

Does this mean I think Korra and Mako will stay together? I'd say it's debatable; however, I want something clear right now. No matter what happens this book, I don't prefer one Korra ship over the other. I think I've read darn near every Korra x ?(This being any character from Legend of Korra) story under the Legend of Korra Fanfiction section. Yes, that includes her paired with older characters such a Lin, Amon/Noatak, Iroh II, and so on.

Now the elder characters are not potential matches for Korra here, I think the youngest out of the three I listed was Iroh II at 36. I enjoy reading people's takes on those relationships, but I do not feel like they fit what I'm going for. I'd say at this point Korra's matches in this story are people around her age range. I'd say no less or more than a four year's difference, it'll depend on how old she is, and I am saying no to Korra x Sasuke as they have a sibling bond.

Flashking (Ch. 4): I would like to start with the fact that I simply don't want Benders to be completely outclassed. At a certain point, it becomes a question why villages like Kumogakure don't just perform 'missions' to go over there and snatch up people. We've seen from Naruto proper that Kumogakure would not let such an opportunity pass them by. If the average Shinobi just stomps all over even a Master Bender, then there is no repercussion to this action.

Additionally, they'd quickly fall to the wayside, and have no bearing in anything to come concerning the Naruto story. The fact that Sasuke is over there would by default make him abundantly weaker than his canon self to the point it wouldn't be funny. If I wanted to portray the story as you suggest, I'd have ensured the two worlds were seperate. The fact that they share a world should be information enough that there is some commonality with power levels.

Now moving onto comparisons between an Avatar and Madara. Korra, with no effort, easily bent away flames fired at her in episode one, two times over. Granted, those weren't big flames, but again she did that with no clear effort meaning her maximum capacity to bend flames without Avatar State has to be greater than that sole feat. Compared to what the Avatar State amps someone to, I'd say a fully realized Avatar could deal with the Majesty Destroyer Flame.

Also compare every instance of an Avatar fighting something big. Aang in the canon comic continuation was able to compete with the spirit General Ironside who I'd say is near on par in size to a Susano and can easily wipe out a whole village. In fact, General Ironside and Yangchen casually destroyed a village after fighting each other for hours, and Aang ended up blasting a hole through that spirit with his Avatar State Elemental Sphere.

As for Kyoshi, she barely exerted any effort in Avatar State to create her island. She split that section off and blew some wind to do it. We've seen countless Avatar State feats that lead to the conclusion one could cleave continents if pressed. Even then, I'd say one of Madara's greatest feats was creating the Valley of the End in his 'final confrontation' with Hashirama. Based upon how you frame things, it would say that such a feat could not be done by the Avatar in Avatar State.

Again, just look at everything any Avatar has done in an Avatar State. I'd say it's not too big a leap to say a fully realized Avatar could at least be on pair with a version of Madara. They could likely bend away any elemental Ninjutsu, Yangchan and Aang both either stalemated or outright beat Ironside, who seems about as big as a realized Susanoo, the big F-U spheres from the sky are just large sphere's of Earth.

Continuing from there, any metal is bendable by a metal bender...unless platinum. While Madara eventually loses his red arm, he initially has it, and I don't think it was made of platinum. If we want to talk mountain cleaving feats, we see Aang and Katar clear off and destroy large plateaus in their battles with Ozai and Zaheer. Those are in the process of battling these guys, and you don't go cleaving those with fire. That's Earthebending.

In conclusion, I say there is an argument to be made that a fully realized Avatar compared to a near pinnacle of what a Shinobi can be. Even if you still disagree, this is clearly an AU since these two worlds do not obviously exists on the same earth in their respective canons.

roggerlopez99: Thank you, I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

iFarted1768: Thank you. As for Sasuke's potential romance options, I'll keep that in mind. This chapter should answer you on the Shinobi Nations while timeline stuff is discussed above.
