She found him, curled up in a little ball in the dark room. Blood and the remains of body parts strewn about.

When she walked close, he lifted his head and stared at her. His red eyes stared at her with such intensity, that she could feel the weight of it. With his size, he loomed over her even as he was sitting on the ground with his knees to his chest. He opened his mouth.

The first thing he said to her was.

"i'm hungry."

Any other person, standing at where they were with the scene laid out in front of them, would have gotten ready to fight for their life.

Instead, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a half finished snack.

"Here," she offered it towards him "You can munch on this."

He looked at her for a while, before he turned his sights on what she was offering. He reached out with a massive hand, and gently took it from hers.

Bringing it to his mouth, he took a bite. His red eyes widened, and he immediately shoved the rest of it into his mouth.

"it's tasty." He said, seemingly in astonishment. He stared down at her and said "thank you."

She crossed her arms "You can thank me by buying another one of those," she held out her hand "I told you to munch on it, not finish it all."

"oh… sorry." He shrunk in on himself "but i don't have money."

"That just means you're going with me to find a job," she placed her hands on her hips "So come on, we're leaving this place."

He looked at her for a good long while, before he nodded "okay."

"What's your name by the way?" She asked.

He was silent for a while before he answered quietly "asterios…"

"Koneko" she replied. "Now c'mon, this place stinks." She turned and walked.

He stood up and followed behind her.

[Scene]

The first thing Rias noticed when she stepped into the Occult Research Club was that Koneko was back.

The second thing she noticed was the three-meter-tall giant currently sitting in the middle of the room. She also noticed how Koneko was sitting on his lap, and was munching away at another of her snacks.

"Hello Koneko, I see that your back." Rias said, making sure not to keep an eye away from the giant. Discreetly, she tried to feel for any kind of magic in the air.

"Hello Prez," she returned her greet, turning her way and bowing her way "The contract was a bust."

"I see." She didn't feel anything weird in the air. Welp, now that was settled, she crossed her arms and looked at the elephant in the room "Koneko, who is that?"

The giant turned towards her. His eyes were obviously inhuman, with the black sclera and the red iris. He had a large volume of white hair, with some of it spilling over his shoulders and acting like a self-made scarf over his neck. He wasn't wearing a shirt, which showed his muscular body and the multitude of scars that littered it. He was also very huge, which was surprisingly his second most striking feature.

The first was the massive pairs of black horns that grew from the top of his skull, both of which curved upwards and inwards. From their shapes, they looked like particularly wicked looking bull horns. Making it seem that he was partially Minotaur.

All that would've made him an intimidating figure, if he didn't have the most soft looking face she had seen on a man his size!

"This is Asterios," Koneko introduced him, causing him to wave with one of his gigantic hands "I found him in a basement." She continued, as if that was a normal thing to say.

Rias stared at him for a good long while, trying to see anything wrong.

Instead he looked at her and spoke in a very soft voice, at least relative to his size "hello, my name is asterios." His face stayed neutral, even with her watchful gaze.

"Is Koneko saying the truth?" She asked him, worried that something else had happened.

The giant nodded his head "yes. she did find me in a basement." He repeated what her Rook had told her, earning a sort of disappointed pout from said Rook.

"Sorry Koneko, I just need to be sure." She walked up to the giant, once more realising just how big he truly was, and looked over him. Most of the scars on his body were faded, probably happened a long time ago, but she saw some of them were still fresh. "So tell me, is he related to that contract?" She asked Koneko.

"Yup," finishing the snack, Koneko turned towards with a serious look "He was a real creep that likes to kidnap people," she looked down "Luckily, he's only started and I think I was going to be his second victim or something."

Rias clicked her tongue, thankful that such a threat was dealt with before it could get bad, but she scolded herself for having a problem like in the first place. "Did you know who was the first?"

Koneko was silent, and just shook her head.

At that point Asterios shrunk back and averted his gaze, before he mumbled "sorry."

That was a red flag. She was about to enquire about his apology, but seeing the look on Koneko's face when she was about to ask caused her to put a hold on the question.

"Well, we'll do a proper investigation of his house when we can" Rias saw the giant shrink back further, but his eyes refocused back to her and she could see that he was at least thankful that she avoided the subject.

For now.

"In any case, we also need to talk about Asterios."

"Can he join the club?" Koneko suddenly interrupted her.

Rias stumbled in her words, and looked at her confused "Excuse me?"

Koneko didn't falter "Can he join the club?" She asked again.

"You want him to join?" She asked.

Koneko's eyes widened "Just the club!" She quickly clarified, before she blushed "He uh… owes me a snack bar."

Despite the absolutely adorable face she was giving her, Rias was about to say no.

Only for her to also catch Asterios' face, who was giving a similarly adorable look that alone would've touched her heart.

With both of them, she was worried it would melt.

She sighed "Fine, but he needs to fill out a form first, and more importantly a place to stay after this."

"Yay." Koneko cheered out, pumping a fist.
