Raccoon City…

1998.

Summer time of May, A missing person case in a family of 3 was reported on May 14th in the Arklay Mountains of Northwestern Raccoon City near the midwestern area of the United States.

Raccoon's City's Police force, Raccoon Police Department (RPD) sent in a simple investigation unit only to discover the bodies of the family of 3 were... eaten...

Initial reports of the case detailed it as a possible grizzly bear attack which prompted RPD not to investigate the case further and dismissed it, However, a secret organization in the Mountains that not even the population of Raccoon City knew about, The SCP Foundation decided to send in their highly trained Mobile Task Force military unit and squad, Gamma-4, to investigate what has been going around the Arklay Mountains on May 20th.

"This is Gamma 4 squad leader Hawk! McCarthy! Can you read me? I repeat, McCarthy! Over!"

"Incoming message from SCP Foundation Mobile Task Force Gamma-4 leader.

Hello, this is Gamma-4 Squad Leader McCarthy. I can read you loud and clear. What's the situation?"

Gamma-4 Squad leader Hawk is an adult male in his early 40s. He had been working for the SCP Foundation for a long time and is one of the more prominent and respected agents of the MTF Corp. He and 4 other soldiers who wore the same MTF uniform as him with the difference being they had a green outline instead of his squad leader's blue outline, were investigating the Arklay Mountains. He soon radioed back to McCarthy, one of the leading MTF Soldiers for Omega-5.

"Copy! We have not found any anomalies in the Arklay Mountains or Raccoon Forest yet! It's quiet here, but we are hoping to find something in the meantime. Over?"

Omega-5 commander McCarthy responded to Agent Hawk on his radio.

"Roger that, Hawk. Keep on the lookout for any anomalies or signs of the Missing Person case. Let's hope we can find something soon. Stay safe and keep your guard up.

Copy that?"

"Yes Sir!"

Hawk responded as he turned off the radio and looked at his 4 officers who looked bored as they had been in the area for 4 hours and hadn't seen anything with one of them speaking.

"Agent Hawk… We haven't seen any SCP or weird shit here! I think maybe the murders might've been caused by grizzly bears!"

Agent Hawk shook his head at his soldiers.

"I doubt it was a grizzly bear attack and so does the Foundation. The corpses were reported to be eaten, not mauled. Besides, the families' bodies were discovered in an area too high for grizzly bears to traverse. It's more likely it was either the work of a breach or an undiscovered SCP. We'll keep searching and investigating till then."

The Gamma-4 MTF Soldiers groan as they decide to trek onward into the Raccoon forest. They were wary of every step they took, as the thick foliage around them could easily hide untold dangers.

They looked around with a newfound sense of dread as they pressed deeper into the forest. The trees towered over them, the dead branches shading the dark green forest floor in eerie shadows, the sounds of crickets chirping, dogs howling, and a silent wind created a dark atmosphere for the MTF Soldiers as they continued through the creepy forest while keeping their eyes peeled for any anomalous activity or signs of the missing persons.

"So what do you guys think could be the real cause of the murders? Could any of the SCPs at Site-19 be capable of this…"

One of the soldiers said to the others in the hopes of striking up a conversation to ease up the erie tension as they walked throughout Raccoon Forest, however the question in choice wasn't intelligent in the soldier's chance as the others and the Gamma-4 leader Agent Hawk gave him annoyed looks.

"Dumbass… Any SCP in Site-19 is capable of causing something like this…"

A soldier with a deep accent responded as they continued through the dark forest with the soldier giving him a weird look as he continued to talk.

"Even some of the more docile ones, such as SCP-105 and 166 and—"

A soldier with a country accent quickly interrupted him to say.

"Doesn't matter if they are humanoids…, if they are sentient, they are even more dangerous to handle!"

The soldiers continued to debate the potential culprits of the murders, with each speculating on which SCP could be responsible for the gruesome crime. They considered the docile SCPs in Site-19, as well as the sentient ones, and weighed the ramifications and potential risks that each posed. Agent Hawk However didn't want his team to be speculating.

"Guys guys guys! Calm down with all your possibilities and focus! We need to continue our mission at hand!"

The soldiers immediately fell silent, as they realized that they were letting their imaginations run wild. They quickly refocused themselves and continued to search for any signs of the missing persons or anomalies in the forest.

As the soldiers continued their trek through the dark forest, they began to feel increasingly uneasy. The thick foliage and the shadows cast by the trees created an ominous atmosphere that left them on edge. They walked with caution, keeping their senses sharp and looking out for any signs of danger.

One of the soldiers suddenly spotted a small cabin in the distance. He stopped in his tracks and looked at it with awe.

His eyes widened in surprise as he called the rest of his peers' attention to it.

"Guys! Up ahead! It looks like a cabin! Should we check it out?"

Agent Hawk activated night vision on his helmet lens to look up ahead to see the small cabin one of his officers was describing.

"Affirmative. Let's move out and investigate it!"

Agent Hawk led his team toward the cabin. The group cautiously approached the cabin, taking their time to observe and analyze every little detail.

The cabin was located in a secluded area, surrounded by dense trees and foliage that concealed most of its features. However, even from afar, the cabin appeared to be small and unassuming, hardly giving any indication that anything sinister could be lurking within its walls.

The soldiers approached the cabin with caution, ready to react if anything unexpected happened with Agent Hawk looking behind and pointing at two of his officers.

"You two! Stay behind and watch ourbackss outside!"

The two of his soldiers nodded and stayed as Hawk and the last 2 of his squad slowly opened the door and entered the cabin where they noticed an immediate change in the air upon entering the cabin. It was filled with a foul, rotting smell that caused the soldiers to gag and attempt to cover their noses since it was behind a helmet.

The soldiers looked around cautiously, taking in their surroundings with trepidation as they surveyed the cabin for any signs of danger or the missing persons.

"Oh god! What is that damn smell!"

One of the soldiers complained as the smell got worse from time to time.

Agent Hawk, despite acknowledging the smell to be nauseating, prompted his team to continue.

"I know it smells like shit! But we need to continue! Pucker up their noses, soldiers!"

With Agent Hawk's words of encouragement, the soldiers gritted their teeth and tightened their resolve. They continued to investigate the cabin, despite the intense stench enveloping the space.

They looked around the cabin, searching for anything that might offer a clue as to what happened here and the source of the smell. The MTF Soldiers continued until they reached a small bedroom where they were disbelieving at the gruesome sight before them. A humanoid male wearing a white lab coat with brown pants is seen looking out the window making an odd quiet noise that sounded like pain. The male's skin looked like it had suffered extreme amounts of decomposition and decay, with pieces of flesh and bones exposed where the skin was torn off. The skin color was a combination of gray and a slight hint of yellow, indicating that the male had been dead for quite some time. The male's face also had an expressionless stare that did little to instill any confidence or sense of security among the soldiers.

"What the hell! He reeks! Has he ever heard of a shower before!"

One of the soldiers said in reaction to seeing the strange humanoid man, but Agent Hawk gave scorn and looked at the soldier for his rude manners.

"Soldiers, calm down! You shouldn't even be talking to people like that! Besides, let's go up to him and ask if he has seen any strange anomalies or activity?"

"Yes, sir."

The soldiers immediately calmed down once reminded by Agent Hawk. They nodded at each other, then slowly advanced towards the humanoid man in the white coat.

The humanoid man was still looking out the window, paying the approaching soldiers no attention at all. His unfeeling expression and lack of any movement further unnerved the soldiers.

The soldiers stood in front of the man and Agent Hawk spoke to the humanoid being.

"Sir, have you seen anything unusual or anomalous inside or near the cabin?"

The humanoid man ignored Agent Hawk's question as it continued to stare at the window, he didn't make any reaction or indication to show he acknowledged his question. Only a bizarre noise came from the humanoid man that was unsettling.

"Aurghh…."

"Sir, are you alright?"

Agent Hawk was visibly concerned for the strange humanoid man, whose bizarre behavior was becoming increasingly unsettling. The humanoid man seemed oblivious to the soldiers' presence and merely kept staring out the window in silence. The strange noises that he emitted were becoming more unsettling, as he continued to disregard all attempts to communicate with him. The humanoid's unwillingness to answer has made one of the MTF Soldiers get mad as he approaches the humanoid man in frustration.

"Hey listen asshole! Our captain is trying to talk to you and you're sitting watching the damn window like a zom—"

The soldier then tried to move and see the face of the humanoid until he saw that the humanoid's jaw was exposed along with blood on the mouth and its eyes were completely white with no pupils seen. This caused the soldier to pause and scream…

"Zom-ZOMBIEEE!"

The loud shout from the soldier seemed to trigger something in the humanoid male who turned to the soldier opened its jaw wide and took a bite of the soldier's shoulder.

"GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"

The soldier screamed in pain as the humanoid bit down on his shoulder. The humanoid creature kept its jaws locked on the soldier, not letting the soldier go despite the soldier's attempts to get away.

The other soldier and Agent Hawk reacted quickly by grabbing their issued P90 automatic semi-machine guns and started shooting at the humanoid creature with their guns in an attempt to stop the creature from attacking their peer.

*BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!*

"Aurghhhhh!..."

The shot had killed the humanoid creature, whose eyes suddenly lost their shine as the creature fell to the floor. The soldiers were horrified by the sight.

The bitten soldier was trembling in agony and fear, with his shoulder beginning to turn grayish. "Arrrrrrrrggghhhhhhhhh! What the fuck is wrong with him! Was that an actual zombie!"

Agent Hawk rushed forward and checked the wound on the soldier's shoulder. He was appalled and disgusted by the sight.

"It appears to be…, but we haven't had any reports on SCP-049 or SCP-022-1 escaping containment… What the hell is going on?"

Agent Hawk soon looked at the other soldier who nodded and approached him to help the Injured soldier on his feet and carefully exited the cabin which forced the injured soldier to emit a noise of pain which further worried Agent Hawk and the other soldier as the bit didn't look natural at all.

"Agent Hawk? This doesn't make any sense! SCP-022-1 and SCP-049-1 are reported to never bite their victims!"

The MTF soldier who wasn't injured spoke to Agent Hawk as they continued to exit the log cabin.

"That's right, this doesn't match the description of either of those SCPs. Maybe we've encountered some sort of new variant that we don't know about."

Agent Hawk examined the bitten soldier closely and found that the wound was already forming into an unnatural black tar that was oozing out of the wound like an infection. He was also losing a large amount of blood.

"We need to get him to the medical bay in Site-19 as quickly as possible! And can figure out that stuff later when we return!"

The MTF soldier nodded as he and Agent Hawk continued to help the injured MTF soldier back outside where they noticed the two soldiers that were assigned to guard the outside of the cabin were gone with nothing seen to trace them.

The injured MTF soldier became angry as attempted to speak… Where… Did those… Bastards!... Went Aurgh!"

Agent Hawk was concerned, as he saw no traces of the two guards anywhere around the cabin.

The injured soldier was attempting to speak but only produced an inaudible growl of pain from the bite of the zombie.

Agent Hawk looked around nervously, wondering if they were attacked and killed by an unknown SCP entity, but sadly he didn't have the luxury of time to look for them as one of his men was injured and in need of a medical bay.

"I really hope those two showed up because Now I'm calling back up!"

Agent Hawk soon took a look at the uninjured soldier and said.

"Make sure you do your best to tend to your comrade! You took basic medic training correctly!"

The uninjured soldier nodded and agreed as he immediately took a look at his wounded comrade.

The wounded soldier continued to growl in pain, as the bite was still causing immense amounts of pain. The wounded soldier continued to attempt to speak as the uninjured soldier looked at his wound.

The uninjured soldier assessed the wounded soldier's bite and made a sound of surprise as he looked at it. During this time Agent Hawk grabbed his radio to try and radio in Omega-5 leader McCarty.

"Commander McCarty! This is Agent Hawk of Gamma-4! two of our guys have gone missing and there are only 3 of us with one injured badly from a bite mark! We need an airlift to Site-19 over!"

The radio signal however was weak as static was only heard and no matter how many times Hawk tried to adjust it, the radio still had static noises heard. Agent Hawk sighed and tried again on a different channel.

"Lieutenant Triana of Alpha Strike! This is Agent Hawk speaking! two of our squad members from Gamma-4 have disappeared and only three of us remain with one injured. Requesting airlift over!"

Again. Nothing can be heard except for static which made Agent Hawk frustrated as he threw his radio down on the grass forest ground.

"DAMNIT! The radio is jammed!"

The uninjured and injured soldier looked at Agent Hawk with a worried expression as they heard that.

"Wait! Radio Comms have been Jammed! Could it be the Chaos Insurgency or Serpent's Hand!"

The Chaos Insurgency and Serpent's Hand… The SCP Foundation's enemies and rivals. It is a probability that might be interfering or involved in whatever is happening in Raccoon City, but the problem is, however. The Chaos Insurgency or Serpent's Hand does not have any presence or facilities in Raccoon City. No rival of the SCP Foundation has any secret facility in the entire Raccoon City region. So who could jam the radio Agent Hawk thought.

Agent Hawk continued to think of who could have possibly jammed the radio and caused this to happen. The other uninjured soldier then spoke out in a concerned tone of voice.

"It might have been someone or something unknown to us, as no other SCP Foundation rivals are present in this area. But whoever has caused this, it's no accident, and they have malicious intentions."

Agent Hawk agreed with his words, as the injured soldier continued to growl in pain until they all heard a rustling from the bushes.

?!

The three MTF soldiers quickly turned to face the bush, seeing its movement from the rustling sound that came from it. The bush continued to rustle, as something was slowly beginning to advance. The three soldiers took a fighting stance, awaiting whatever was coming forward.

Agent Hawk pulled his gun and pointed at the bush, ready to shoot anything that might emerge.

"Who… Who's there? Aurghhh…"

The injured soldier called out and raised his uninjured arm with a small 9mm Handgun as he pointed at the bushes as well only not to hear a response.

"It could be our guys that disappeared!"

Agent Hawk said as that thought appeared on his.

"Then I'm going to go and check it out!"

The uninjured soldier said as Agent Hawk and the Injured Soldier both nodded at MTF soldiers who walked ahead slowly to the bushes to look around. The soldier's heartbeat thumped and thump faster as it almost felt that something was calling him out to the bush Agent Hawk and the Injured soldier both pointed their weapons at the bush and were ready to fire anything that was a threat to the 3 of them. After 30 seconds of examining, the uninjured turned around to face the two and said.

"It was just nothing… and I also haven't seen those guys…"

This was a moment of relief for Agent Hawk and his two officers as they all sighed and stood still to await a possible rescue if rescue was ever going to come, but they still had to stay positive.

"That's unfortunate. But we must hold our ground until the SCP Foundation notices we haven't made any radio communications! Until then we need to do our best to intend—"

"BEHIND YOU CAPTAIN!"

Agent Hawk suddenly hears a warning shouted from behind him and turns his body to face the threat of a wild canine who then pounced on him.

"OH SHIT!"

Agent Hawk shouted as the wild canine attempted to bite him with its white teeth with hints of blood seen on it. Hawk attempted to free himself from the wild creature, but the dog was much stronger than any normal canine that Agent Hawk encountered. Luckily the injured soldier quickly fired his 9mm Handgun at the wild dog.

*BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!*

"ARFFF!"

The wild canine was soon killed by the wounded soldier as the other soldier ran in to help him.

"Captain! Are you ok?"

Agent Hawk quickly looked behind to inspect the dead canine's body and upon examining it, The results horrified him. The canine already looked like it should've died before it attacked him as its eyes were pure white, it had a missing ear, and part of its skin was peeling off with even small portions of its ribcage being exposed.

"Captain... that thing wasn't even a normal wild dog! What the hell is that? Is an SCP from our facility or others!"

The soldier told Agent Hawk who in truth and honesty, he had never seen anything like this in his entire career and wasn't sure if this wasn't even an already classified SCP.

"It's possible it might be an undiscovered SCP… If that is the case we need quickly hurry up and—"

A sudden rustling sound from the bushes came forth, causing both the wounded and uninjured soldier to turn back around and prepare once again to face a threat.

"GET READY!"

Agent Hawk shouted out in a warning, as both of the soldiers immediately prepared themselves to face the threat once again.

Agent Hawk aimed his gun toward the bush, his heart beating rapidly as it was nearly impossible to determine what was approaching them.

AHH!"

Agent Hawk shouted out as he saw the group of wild canines suddenly lunge forward in a coordinated attack. Both the wounded and uninjured soldiers also attempted to shoot the wild canines.

*BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR*

*BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!*

But the group of wild canines were moving quickly and too many.

The wild canines continued to attack, causing Agent Hawk and his officers to retreat backward to avoid getting bitten by them with the dogs soon overpowering the wounded Soldier.

"Captain! There's too much! And I'm getting overwhel— ARGHH!"

The wounded soldier shouted out as he attempted to fight back the group of wild canines while retreating, but was suddenly tackled by a few wild canines. He attempted to fight them, using his hands to try and push them off, but to no avail. The wild canines growled loudly as they descended upon him, their sharp teeth tearing down his flesh and bones as he screamed in agony.

Agent Hawk continued to back away as he saw his wounded soldier being mauled by several wild canines, but with no other choice but to retreat. Agent Hawk aimed his gun at one of the wild canines, attempting to shoot it down as the screams of agony from the wounded soldier stopped with some of the wild canines that were chomping on his body turned to face Agent Hawk and the last soldier.

"I am not being mauled by Clifford rejects! Let's get them captain!"

"You're damn right, we're not going down this easy!"

Agent Hawk shouted, as he and the other soldier pulled the trigger and unleashed several rounds from their guns towards the wild canines.

*BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!*

*BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!*

The wild canines let out a few barks as some of them dropped to the ground dead, but the rest of the canines continued to lunge forward. The wild canines continued to bite and attempt to attack Agent Hawk and the uninjured soldier, as they slowly tried to retreat but were surrounded by the wild canines. The two soldiers continue to battle against the canines until one of them manages to leap onto the unwounded soldier and soon a group of them start biting and mauling him.

Agent Hawk was now on his own as the wild canines attempted to corner him with the group's movement, not leaving him room to escape.

"YOU WANT TO EAT ME ASSHOLES! FINE! TRY AND TAKE A BITE OUT OF ME!"

Agent Hawk then makes his last stand as he fires his P90 at the wild canines managing to kill scores of them.

*BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!*

Agent Hawk kept firing his gun over and over again, killing scores of the wild canines which caused them to drop down one by one. The canines continued to come at him, with a few trying to leap and take Agent Hawk to the ground.

Agent Hawk continued to fire his gun over and over, but his aim was quickly becoming off-target. The wild canines kept coming at him, with some of them leaping and chomping down on Agent Hawk, latching onto him and preventing him from moving freely.

"AAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Agent Hawk screamed out in agony as more wild canines continued to latch onto him and start biting and mauling him as the wild canines were becoming more aggressive. The canines continued to bite his arms, legs, and basically, anywhere they could tear into his skin.

The wild canines continued to savage his flesh from him, with no intention of letting him go anytime soon as his screams echoed Raccoon Forest and the rest of the Arklay Mountains.

[1998] May 14th

[Location] [REDACTED]

11:00 PM

In a mysterious facility. A group of personnel, all shadow individuals, were in what appears to be a conference room discussing important matters. The Arklay Mountains murders, but also another pressing matter.

"This does not make any sense! I am still puzzled about how our main lab got contaminated!"

A slightly bigger shadow individual that bore a Russian accent spoke.

"I am as confused as you are, doctor, our lab should have been airtight, and no outside contamination should have gotten in. Perhaps something else is in play?"

The Russian individual then looked towards two shadow individuals. One of them seemed to be wearing what appears to be a police or military uniform while the other wore a white lab coat.

"Comrades! You two were sent in to retrieve samples of "T" after the incident. Did you find any evidence of tampering?"

The two shadow individuals quickly nodded in reply to the Russian individual's question.

"Both of us inspected the site and collected samples, and there was no evidence of any tampering."

The one with the police uniform replied.

"We also took samples and ran tests to check for any abnormal levels of activity. The results all came back normal."

The one with the lab coat added.

The Russian individual sighed in disappointment as one individual wearing a purple dress and his female spoke in a British accent.

"That is most disappointing to hear…But we have another big concern… One of the SCP Foundation's MTF squads Gamma-4 has been defeated…"

All the shadow individuals in the room were left stunned as they all began to murmur amongst themselves.

"Gamma-4?!"

"They had the best chances to succeed!"

"How did they get defeated?"

The shadow individuals were very displeased and shocked to hear this. The Russian individual looked at three individuals with one of them wearing a black lab coat, the other wearing a white suit with a red tie, and the other wearing a black cloak/robe. The Russian individual looked very displeased at them and spoke.

"Comrades… You 3 are personnel working at the SCP Foundations Site-19 facility… How did your soldiers fail… I thought they would be perfect to gain combat data since they are highly experienced…"

The 3 individuals were of mixed feelings but the one wearing the black lab coat spoke up first with an annoyed expression.

"They are capable of gaining combat data on any anomaly of ours they encounter!"

The individual wearing the white suit was also annoyed that the Russian Individual was displeased with them as the white suit believed it wasn't their fault.

"It's not even our fault! It's just those dumbass MTF soldiers the Foundation sent!"

The Russian individual was very unamused by their actions and speech with the black robe/cloak individual giving a grave annoyed look at the two as their actions could potentially get them in trouble. Soon the two sighed as the black robe individual spoke on their behalf with a deep malatone accent.

"We apologize for our actions and the MTF soldiers Colonel. Perhaps we need to continue our original plans."

The Russian individual sighed as he then spoke.

"Perhaps you are right… But you still failed at your task of obtaining combat data from the MTF soldiers and that is something our boss specifically said we need to obtain, if we can't obtain proper combat data then we can't commence on our plan."

Suddenly the white-suited individual disagreed with the Russian individual who stood up and yelled.

"SCREW THE PLAN. IF THE MTF UNITS! CAN'T HANDLE IT THEN—!"

The yell echoed throughout the conference room even though it was large and had quite several personnel inhabiting it. The Russian Individual was very displeased as two individuals the same size as he appeared with weapons and pointed them towards the white-suited individual who wasn't afraid or showed fear, but as the tension rose high from the two personnel, the police uniform clapped his hands and soon reached the center of the two.

"If you two want to be bitter and argue and child go ahead, unfortunately, this is a professional environment and we can't afford to fight among ourselves."

The white suit nodded and smirked the Russian individual who growled and raised his hands to tell his two bodyguards to lower their weapons as the police uniform smiled.

"I might have something that can help us combat data problems."

The Russian individual glared at the police uniform individual as the other shadow individuals listened in as they wondered what was going to be said.

"And what is it that you propose, comrade."

"My 3 associates will make sure the Foundation doesn't investigate mountains and possibly our lab anymore."

The police uniform looks towards the white suit, black lab coat, and black cloak individual with the three of them nodding as they understood him. The individual then turned back to continue speaking.

"The MTF Soldiers aren't the only individuals in Raccoon City that are experienced in military combat they are another group in Raccoon City who could use, exploit, and I have a feeling you all whom I'm talking about."

The Russian individual had a frown on his face as he looked at the police uniform which was suggesting another option that he wasn't quite sure if it would work, but it was the only option he and everyone could think of and sighed.

"Very well comrade. Do what you will with these individuals, however, remember. You are not the one in charge here."

The police uniform smiled as the other individuals with him also smiled and nodded as they gave a small bow to the Russian individual as a form of respect.

"We will proceed with the plan as discussed."

The police uniform smiled at the Russian individual as he then turned and faced others in the room and said.

"Comrades. I believe the time has come to act."

The other individuals in the room gave a round of applause and the Russian individual seemed delighted by their actions. A new era was about to come for everyone in this room.

CHAPTER I

[1998] July 4th

[Location-Training Fields, Raccoon City]

3:00 PM

"HEY! YOU DUMBASSES! BE CAREFUL WITH THE EQUIPMENT!"

"SORRY SIR!"

On a cloudy summer day in Raccoon City on a training field, a yelled officer with a shaved head yelled out to other officers who were setting up tables, speakers, and other equipment for an event to celebrate.

The officer who yelled at the others was wearing a blue vest with a green shirt underneath it as well as black bucket pants. The outfit also had a logo on both sleeves near the shoulder of the shirt.

It had a blue circle with a white circle outline that had 3 yellow stars inside along with white letters between the white circles that read.

RACOON. POLICE. DEP

A blue tag is also seen above the blue circle that reads out.

S.T.A.R.S.

S.T.A.R.S or Special Tactics And Rescue Services is the special police force unit for RPD that was formed in 1996 to help deal with tasks that the Raccoon City Police force isn't used to dealing with.

While the regular officers of RPD were running around trying to set up the event perfectly without being yelled at by the RPD Sergeant, the officer then noticed a fellow officer sitting down on a bench wearing a green vest that had a brown knife holster on the right side of the torso while a white shirt is underneath it with the same S.T.A.R.S logo seen. The individual is also wearing black pants, black fingerless gloves, and black knee pads while he also has short hair straightened up along with blue eyes. The officer looked young, but he also wasn't doing anything which made the fellow S.T.A.R.S. an angry officer who then approached and yelled at him.

This officer's name is… Chris Redfield.

"WHY ARE YOU JUST SITTING THERE, PRIVATE?! YOU SHOULD BE HELPING THE OTHER OFFICERS WITH SETTING UP THE EQUIPMENT!"

Chris Redfield quickly stood up and said something clever to the Sergeant.

"Sir! I was taking a quick break and I wasn't aware of any protocol that prohibits such an action."

The Sergeant's face scowled as he turned towards Chris Redfield the sergeant was not pleased with his clever remark.

"Well, there is no protocol that prohibits taking a break, BUT the event's not going to set up itself. So you better soon meet up with Forest and Richard, before I will be on your ass again!"

The sergeant wasn't even trying to be subtle with his annoyance, but Chris did have a point.

Chris Redfield looked down for a few seconds as he sighed and nodded at the sergeant.

"Yes, sir. I'm on it."

The sergeant nodded in response and then turned around as he continued to bark out orders to other officers.

Chris Redfield was relieved the sergeant wasn't so hard on him as usually, the sergeant would always be on Chris whenever he caused trouble, even when Chris was not the one responsible for it.

As Chris Redfield is traveling through the training fields, seeing the few RPD officers running around frantically as they set up the 4th of July equipment, Chris stumbled upon two pieces of notes near a table stand he was at earlier before he met the Sergeant. Chris Redfield decides to take a minute to glance at the two notes he found since he has nothing better to do. The first note is pinned by a staple on the surface of a board for a map that lays underneath which turned out to be Chris Redfield's S.T.A.R.S credentials.

Chris couldn't help but smile in amusement when he read the credentials listed on the first note. He finds it interesting that RPD keeps these kinds of information on file for their officers. There's nothing much else written on the credentials, but Chris Redfield is still quite entertained by it.

The second note was much more nostalgic for Chris as it was a S.T.A.R.S. introduction form.

S.T.A.R.S Introduction.

WELCOME TO SPECIAL TACTICS AND RESCUE SERVICES OR S.T.A.R.S!

Founded in 1996 after the expansion of Raccoon City, S.T.A.R.S was created in part of Raccoon Cities mayor, Michael Warren Bright's Raccoon 21 campaign to help fend off terrorism and the dangers of Raccoon City!

Upon joining S.T.A.R.S. after completing the written exam, recruits would be tested and placed into honorary squads for the force.

If you were picked for Alpha or Bravo, you will report to these fellow officers!

Enrico Marini: Vice Captain of S.T.A.R.S and leader of the Bravo squad.

Albert Wesker: Captain of S.T.A.R.S and leader of the Alpha squad.

We hope you will enjoy your new position as a S.T.A.R.S. officer and help serve a better community for Raccoon City, Its citizens, and the United States!

The S.T.A.R.S introduction form brought more nostalgia to Chris Redfield as he was one of the individuals who joined S.T.A.R.S. His position is Alpha Squad Pointman and he has been tasked with leading the Alpha Squad.

Chris Redfield looked around the training fields as he read the whole introduction form and couldn't help but smile with a bit of nostalgia for his first day of being with S.T.A.R.S. He thought back to his first day and remembered how proud he was of himself for making it this far and it was all thanks to his previous Military career.

"I remember this pamphlet they gave to me. Good memories."

Chris decided to put down the pamphlet and continued to speak with his fellow officers the first one he found was a male that looked a year older than Chris and was wearing a red vest with a white shirt underneath that had the S.T.A.R.S logo as well who is talking to what appears to be a helicopter pilot that isn't wearing a S.T.A.R.S uniform.

Chris Redfield recognized the two officers as Edward Dewey(S.T.A.R.S Bravo Team's co-pilot) and Kevin Dooley(RPD's Pilot). The two noticed Chris Redfield, but they weren't that happy to see him.

"Chris… What do you want?"

Edward said to Chris as he turned to face him and crossed his arms.

Chris Redfield sighed as he saw the two officers who seemed to have no pleasure seeing him as he was greeted with a stern look instead. He spoke with a slightly annoyed and sarcastic tone as he answered Edward Dewey.

"I'm just looking around. Is that a problem?"

Chris decided to stand his ground after seeing Edward's dismissive gesture and wasn't about to back down immediately.

"Nothing personal against you, but I'm hoping you aren't going to cause trouble for us in the 4th of July celebration,"

Edward stated with Chris chuckling and adding something just to further irritate Edward.

"Don't say I'm the only troublemaker. You also started that fight in RPD's cafeteria over that last slice of pizza they had."

Kevin laughed upon hearing Chris mention that as he wasn't around during that time.

"Wait Edward, you were the guy involved in that! Bahahahhahaha!"

Edward groaned as he rolled his eyes upon hearing Chris's comment and his friend's laughter over it.

Chris found it amusing that Edward was the one who started the fight over a slice of pizza.

After hearing more laughter from Kevin and Edward giving a sarcastic side eye at Chris, Chris knew at that moment he was just making things worse for himself as Edward spoke after lightly flicking Kevin's shoulder.

"Besides that… Make sure you don't do anything to embarrass us, Chris…"

Chris could feel his mouth twitching at how absurd this situation was in general as he found it funny, but he also couldn't help feeling a bit irritated by Edward's warning, even if it was a sarcastic tone. For Chris this whole event is a cakewalk, so he can't possibly do something that would remotely get them in trouble.

He rolled his eyes and let out a slight groan of annoyance as he then nodded his head. "Yeah, yeah. I get it already Edward, but it does make me wonder. What are they making you?"

Edward groaned upon hearing that with Kevin looking down.

"They are making me serve food for the civilians and other officers of RPD."

"And not only that… Edward is making me help him."

Kevin responded in a disappointed voice, but Edward gave the pilot a look as he was clearly lazy and wanted to avoid work

"First of all it was Enrico who said you had to help me out. That is your fault for being here and talking to us for a long time."

"Sucks to be Bravo squad,"

Chris responded which earned him a stare from Kevin who chuckled at Chris and soon asked a question.

"Chris? What are you going to be doing?"

Chris smiled with pride and crossed his arms as he told the two what he was doing.

"RPD wanted me to perform something special at the start of the event along with Forest and Richard."

"And that is why I am emphasizing you not to embarrass us, Chris,"

Edward said with Chris flicking his hand at Edward.

"Calm down. Nothing bad is going to happen, I'm going to see what is going on with the other members."

Chris then leaves Edward and Kevin as they both sigh at the sharpshooter. Chris upon walking through the training field heard more yelling from Sergeant Jason Storm.

"HEY! BE CAREFUL WITH THAT TABLE! I THOUGHT RPD HAD YOU GUYS TRAIN AT THE GYM DAILY!"

"WE'RE SORRY SIR!"

The officers holding a large white table continued moving it through the field in set places as Chris observed and continued moving through the field until he found more S.T.A.R.S. officers. This time it was two more older officers. One of them wearing a red vest with a brown hoister on the right side of his chest, a beige short-sleeved shirt with the S.T.A.R.S logo on the sleeve, and light blue pants while he had brown hair with a beard and a mustache.

Chris recognizes the officer as Alpha Team's Barry Burton and a good friend of his from his days in the US Air Force.

The other S.T.A.R.S officer looked slightly older than Barry with him having black hair, a shaved beard, a black mustache, and a black vest with a green short-sleeved shirt underneath it with the S.T.A.R.S logo on the sleeve.

Chris recognizes the fellow officer as Enrico Marini. Vice Captain of S.T.A.R.S.

"Howdy Howvice-captainfield! Ready for the 4th of July event!"

Barry Burton said while patting the back of Chris's back with Enrico smiling.

Chris smiles as he sees Barry Burton and Enrico Marini together and can't help but let out a chuckle before responding.

"I am as ready as I can be"

Chris then looked over at Enrico Marini peaking with a slightly teasing tone.

"What? Is Barry too old to introduce himself anymore?"

"You say that yet you are 3 years older than me and I'm only 38 years old…"

Barry said to Enrico.

Chris couldn't help but let out another chuckle before jokingly adding.

"Is that so? You definitely look like you're pushing sixty."

Barry sighed at Chris's joking comment and responded with.

"That's what happens when you're a father of 2…"

Chris chuckled as he nodded his head in understanding.

"I get it. Kids can be a lot to handle, so that definitely ages you."

Barry nodded as Vice Captain Enrico turned to face Chris.

"Chris Redfield, how are you holding up for today? Some of the Bravo squad are a bit afraid that you might mess it up, except for, of course, your friends Richard and Forest."

Chris smiles as he looks over at the vice-captain with pride as he hears his comment.

"I'm ready to perform well during the event. I can see most of the Bravo squad members here are still trying to tease me and think that I will mess up."

The lieutenant shakes his head as he then looks at the vice-captain with a joking tone. "But you know as well as I do vice-captain, I never mess anything up. I never will."

Enrico chuckles and makes a sarcastic statement.

"Well, I hope you do. For S.T.A.R.S stakes."

Chris smiles at the vice captain's sarcastic comment before responding.

"Captain Enrico… you know I will do my best! Just watch, I will deliver a brilliant performance. You'll regret even doubting me."

Barry then chimed in to give Chris some reassurance.

"They clearly don't know what Chris is fully capable of! Besides, if he can handle a gun as great as me and even better than all. You know he is going to ace this task!"

Enrico smiled hearing Barry along with Chris. Barry had Chris back ever since the two met in the US airforce with Barry teaching and giving Chris some tips on approving his marksmanship and skills on the plane.

"Don't worry Chris, even though you do cause some trouble. I will admit you do have the skills and spirit of a true S.T.A.R.S officer."

Chris let out a laugh and a big smile as the vice captain gave him those words of encouragement.

"It sounds like I have both Barry and you supporting me. I cannot fail with you two now. Well I'm going to go off now to what the others are doing! Good luck to you two."

Chris nodded to the both of them as he walked away. While Chris was moving through the training field, he spotted a female S.T.A.R.S that looked a year younger than Chris wearing a very light blue shirt with the S.T.A.R.S logo on the sleeve below dark blue shoulder pads. She also wore a blue officer beret that also had a S.T.A.R.S logo on the front while she wore blue pants and black shoes. The female officer appeared to be firing a 9mm Beretta pistol at target dummies in a target range far away. Her handgun wasn't normal however as it had a wood finish on the holder and the S.T.A.R.S logo attached as well as letters embroidered on the base.

THE SAMURAI EDGE

(A 9mm Beretta handcrafted by a legendary gun shop owner in Raccoon City and the issued weapon for S.T.A.R.S officers. The handgun offers superior handling and performance better than other handguns in the category. It holds 15 9mm handgun ammo.)

*BANG BANG BANG!*

"Jill Valentine… Even before the 4th of July event. She is training hard…That lady never takes a break."

Chris says to himself as he observes Jill Valentine shooting the dummy targets which were paper-crafted targets in the form of a human body.

Jill Valentine is S.T.A.R.S Alpha team B&E expert specializing in lock picketing and bomb disposal. Despite Jill not telling her past much to the S.T.A.R.S officers. She is also a good friend to Chris Redfield and Barry Burton as it appeared for them and the other officers that she had experience in the field as well.

Chris Redfield decided to approach Jill to see how his friend was holding up in her practice.

*BANG BANG BANG BANG!*

Jill is heard reloading her weapon until Chris Redfield speaks behind her which startled her.

"Hey, Jill!"

"WOAH!"

Chris couldn't help but let out a small laugh as Jill turned and pointed her gun at him before realizing him.

"Oh come on Jill, it's me Chris!"

Jill scowled at Chris as her gun was lowered down,

"Chris what the hell. You know that I get jumpy if someone tries to sneak up from behind me."

Chris couldn't help but chuckle again before responding.

"Then maybe you should chill out for a bit Jill… You know we are about to have a special event starting soon for Independence Day and you are the only one practicing your aim!"

"Well, I have to be prepared when strange aliens come down from space and invade us,"

Jill said as a joke and reference to the alien movie Independence Day they had seen together with Barry when S.T.A.R.S first formed in 1996 and with Chris and Barry taking Jill to the movie as a better way to connect with another member of Alpha squad.

Chris laughed and couldn't help but be impressed with Jill's clever and witty response to his comment.

He even looked over at her with an impressed and proud look before replying with. "You know you've got me there, I can't deny it. Alright fine, keep doing your practice. You do need to practice on your aiming as you tend to miss crucial points off by a couple of inches.

Jill crossed her arms at Chris upon hearing his statement as Jill herself wasn't inexperienced at shooting weapons.

"Oh please Chris. I am a great shot already, I'm just trying to learn to shoot and shoot and maybe even ask for some expert advice."

Jill then continued firing at the targets with her Samurai Edge handgun.

*BANG BANG BANG!*

Each gunshot came with another sound of metal, a glass bottle breaking, or a plastic dummy being smacked, but as Chris heard Jill mention asking for some expert advice he began to ask Jill.

"Well, who's going to help you? Barry, Forest, or Captain Enrico and Captain Wesker."

Jill didn't say anything to Chris's comment and shook her head as she continued firing at the targets, but Chris decided to play a joke on Jill and say to her as he gave a mischievous smile.

"Or perhaps it's because of my lovely charm that made you want to ask me, The point man, Jill Valentine."

Jill smirked a bit at Chris' statement said with a hint of bad attitude

"Hah, you wish that was a real reason." It's definitely not your charming or dashing personality that I don't care for. I want to ask you for help with my aim, Mr. Hotshot."

Chris laughed a bit at her words and responded with a cheeky comment. "Of course, of course, I knew it wasn't my good looks that made you want me to teach you how to aim. It was just my personality and humor which got you infatuated...

Jill rolled her eyes as she smirked at Chris. He typically likes to joke around with Jill during their time together as he views her as one of his good friends, along with Barry, Richard, and Forest. As Jill pauses to reload her handgun, an announcement from the loudspeaker microphone is being spoken by Sergeant Jason Storm.

"S.T.A.R.S OFFICERS! THE INDEPENDENCE DAY EVENT IS ABOUT TO START SO GET TO YOUR POST AND GET READY!"

The loudspeaker is heard over all the other noises coming from the field. All of the officers immediately stop their activities and head to their assigned positions. Chris then looks over at Jill.

"Alright, looks like we got to get to our designated positions. We'll talk later as I'm going to head over to my designated spot."

Chris then quickly called out Jill before she left.

"Hey Jill, wait! What are they making you do for the event!"

Jill turns back to Chris and speaks quickly with her usual confident and strong tone as she has a determined look on her face.

"I have been assigned as the S.T.A.R.S spokesperson to talk to the civilians about the history of S.T.A.R.S. I will make sure to give them a detailed history of our squad and the good works that we have done in the past to protect the city and its populace."

Chris slightly backed away after hearing that since it meant Jill had to tell information to others about S.T.A.R.S the whole day.

"Yikes… sounds boring."

Jill chuckled a bit as she responded to Chris with a sly and teasing tone in her voice.

"Well, it might sound boring to you, Chris. But for me, I find it as an opportunity to give our citizens the info they need on their protectors so that they can have a better understanding of who we are and what we do."

Chris then smiled at Jill who was feeling confident with her position.

"Hopefully that will put Raccoon City in the spotlight since we all know this town is oblivious in the United States.

Jill chuckled slightly and spoke with confidence once again as she nodded her head with understanding toward what Chris was saying.

"Yes, I hope this event will help give our city the fame and praise it deserves. We are a small city in the middle of nowhere, with nothing to do, no special attractions or anything. So maybe telling people that oh S.T.A.R.S. make Raccoon City an amazing place that will perhaps make this city not boring as hell."

Jill and Chris then notice several RPD officers running around the field to head to their stations with Jill speaking back to Chris. "Alright, I got to go. Can't be slacking on my first day as a spokesperson."

Jill quickly nodded her head at Chris before heading off to her duty station with Chris doing the same thing and heading towards his designated spot to prepare for the event. Chris soon headed to a large yellow tent which is where he was supposed to be stationed for the event until he was called. When he entered the tent Chris met two S.T.A.R.S officers inside. The first one had black slick hair, and blue eyes and wore a blue shirt with the S.T.A.R.S logo on and the shirt underneath his blue vest and black pants.

Chris recognizes this individual as Forest Speyer. Cybersecurity and marksman expert for S.T.A.R.S Bravo Squad and Chris Redfield's best friend despite him being 4 years older than Chris.

The 2nd S.T.A.R.S officer has an orange short-sleeved shirt with the S.T.A.R.S logo as well as an orange vest above it along with dark gray pants. He has straight blonde hair and brown eyes.

Chris recognizes this officer as Richard Aikens. A Communications expert for S.T.A.R.S Bravo Squad who is also a friend of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine.

Forest and Richard noticed Chris walk into their tent. Forest is the first to speak up with a welcoming tone in his voice.

"Ah, Chris, glad to see you here. Did you have any problems finding this place?"

Richard quickly nods his head in agreement with Forest's statement, smiling slightly as he adds on.

"Good to see that you made it here on time before the event started. You know, the event is going to begin in just a few minutes and we are tasked to perform a cool entrance pose and show it to the civilians when the event begins."

Chris gave the two a look as usual after Target practice performed a dance which became like a tradition for Chris even though it had originally started as a joke. At some point during Chris' S.T.A.R.S career, he decided to teach Forest and Richard the dance themselves.

"You guys think we should show them what we usually do after target practice?"

Forest and Richard both nodded in agreement.

"That will get them wild. You want to do a quick warm-up of it so we can be prepared to do it live."

Forest said.

The three of them stand in a small triangle and stretch their arms and legs in an effort to loosen up and get into the mindset of doing the dance. They then empty their magazines to prevent any injuries as they want to make sure they perform in the best possible way possible.

Chris looks over at Forest and Richard with a smirk on his face as he also stretches and gets ready to perform the dance.

"S.T.A.R.S FORMATION!"

Forest yelled out with the 3 officers performing a dance with them performing tricks with their Samurai Edge handguns with the end performance being them tossing the gun in the air and catching it pointing up with Chris and Richard pointing outwards to the background with Forest pointing the handgun upwards.

"There we go! The people are going to be amazed when they see this!"

Richard said with Chris nodding. Soon the 3 started to hear voices of people outside the tent with it initially being small until the voices grew and soon the chatter was heard every second.

"Welp. I guess that means the event is about to begin."

Forest stated as the 3 S.T.A.R.S Officers were about to leave, but Sergeant Jason Storm ran into the tent and looked at the 3 in fury.

"ALRIGHT YOU 3! THE TIME HAS COME! I WANT YOU 3 TO BE OUT THERE TO PERFORM THE INTRODUCTION TO THE 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION WITH OUR NEWLY DEVELOPED DANCE!"

"New dance!"

The 3 officers yelled out. Chris nor any of his friends have even heard that S.T.A.R.S. had a dance. Sergeant Jason Storm just grinned at the 3 while Chris complained.

"We haven't heard anyone tell us that! We have been practicing our old pose and dance. The S.T.A.R.S initiation!"

Jason Storm shook his head at the response and yelled.

"Negative Officer Redfield! That dance is outdated! Just do the new dance and you will all be fine!"

Jason Storm left the tent with Chris, Richard, and Forest looking at each other in distress and confusion.

"Well, does anyone know the dance?"

Chris asked Forest and Richard with they both responding with.

"NO!"

"That's good because that means we are screwed,"

Chris said with him and Richard became disappointed, but Forest looked at the determination to the 2 of them.

"Listen, guys. We didn't join S.T.A.R.S to disappoint people, right?"

"Ya."

Richard and Chris responded as they were still disappointed, but Forest continued.

"We did not join S.T.A.R.S to disappoint our friends, right?"

Chris and Richard started to look up at Forest

"Ya!"

"We did not join S.T.A.R.S to be quitters right!"

"Ya!"

"AND WE DID NOT JOIN S.T.A.R.S TO FAIL A SIMPLE DANCE, RIGHTTTTTTT!"

"YAAAAAAAAA!"

"THEN LET'S GET OUT THERE AND SHOW THOSE CIVILIANS WHAT'S UP!"

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

With all 3 of them being motivated, they all decided to exit out of the tent the 3 of them screaming battle screams until they exited to see a ton of civilians in crowds walking around the training fields.

"There… Is…. A lot…. Of…. PEOPLE!"

Richard yelled out.

The sheer number of people there is huge. Way more than what the 3 S.T.A.R.S officers would expect. Still, Chris and Forest didn't want to be discouraged by them.

"Come on Richard! We still have to find the stage!"

Chris yelled out to Richard who nodded and the 3 continued moving forward through the crowd with some of them noticing the S.T.A.R.S officers and a few comments heard them.

"WAIT! Aren't those S.T.A.R.S!"

"OH MY GOD! IT'S ACTUALLY THEM!"

"The special swat guys are here!"

"And they appear to be attractive men!"

"HEY! DON'T YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND ALREADY!"

The 3 S.T.A.R.S officers felt happy they were being commended by the crowd, but Chris felt it was too much since they were only police officers in reality.

"Aren't they giving us a little too much credit… We are only police officers if you think about it."

"We are technically, but you have to remember. S.T.A.R.S is its special police force in the Raccoon Police Department!"

Richard added to Chris Redfield who soon became slightly happy and said.

"Yeah, and that means we're a big deal!"

Chris said, sounding much more motivated than a minute ago as he continued following Richard in the direction of the stage.

Forest would soon join the two of them, the three looking around and still noticing the many civilians that were around in this area.

They were all excited to see S.T.A.R.S. and Chris would soon look at his friend's faces. The three of them seemed happy to just be part of S.T.A.R.S. and that made Chris feel rather satisfied.

Soon the 3 S.T.A.R.S officers finally reached the stage where they stood up to see the crowd of civilians and even a few RPD Officers walking around.

"Feels good to know we are important people. Right, guys!"

Forest said to Richard and Chris with Richard chuckling and Chris giving a grin to his friend.

"Don't think too highly of yourself, Forest. I would still beat you in target practice."

Forest crossed his arms at Chris and smiled.

"Don't get too cocky Chris, you may have won many times. But you can't keep being the victor forever."

"Alright Forest, I'll admit it: you're a pretty good shot. But I also know that you're not too used to handling more than one gun at a time with me and the other guys can do it pretty easily."

Chris would say with a grin as he chuckled to himself.

"But hey...I'll give credit where credit is due. At the very least I won't beat you in everything."

Chris and Forest then laughed. While Forest is considered Chris Redfield's best friend, they are also rivals with Chris and Forest normally competing with each other. Either it will be in eating, racing, and target practice with Chris usually being the victor in target practice since he is considered a better sharpshooter than Forest, but Forest beats Chris in eating and racing with Forest having a low metabolism and impressive driving skills that is compared to a professional race car driver.

Soon an announcement is heard that sounded like the voice of RPD's Mayor.

Michael Warren!

"GREETINGS CITIZENS OF RACCOON CITY! I AM YOUR LOVELY MAYOR MICHAEL WARREN! TODAY IS THE 4TH OF JULY AND WE ARE HERE TO CELEBRATE THE DAY WHEN THE UNITED STATES DECLARED ITS INDEPENDENCE! I HOPE YOU WILL ENJOY THE SPECIAL EVENTS, FOOD, AND GAMES TO ENJOY WITH YOUR FAMILY AND GET A CHANCE TO MEET RPD'S SPECIAL POLICE FORCE.

S.T.A.R.S!"

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

The crowd is heard cheering with Chris, Richard, and Forest feeling proud of themselves.

"Looks like we're up next, fellas,"

Chris said with a smirk on his face as he and his other S.T.A.R.S colleagues looked at the mayor up on stage.

"Let's put on a show for these people, boys."

Chris would say and nod at his friends as they all got into the mindset of performing for the crowd, but they all still had nerves as Jason Storm had specifically told them to perform the new dance and Chris felt he would get yelled at even more if he tried to do his own that he of for so long.

Mayor Michael Warren soon pointed at Chris, Richard, and Forest as he was about to introduce them.

"TODAY FOR THE START OF THE EVENT! 3 S.T.A.R.S OFFICERS WILL BEGIN WITH A SPECIAL INTRODUCTION DANCE TO HELP SYMBOLIZE AND SHOWCASE WHAT S.T.A.R.S COULD DO!"

"GIVE IT UP FOR!

RICHARD AIKENS!

FOREST SPEYER!

AND CHRIS REDFIELLDDDDDDD!"

Chris would feel his heartbeat pounding in his chest as he heard his name being announced to the crowd of people. Chris had never had this many people cheering him on, and it was beginning to hit him hard.

As the three of them stood in their formation to begin the dance, he'd made sure to catch the eye of Forest and Richard as they nodded towards the audience Chris felt ready to give this dance his all, but Chris, Forest, and Richard's nerves would only rise as they quickly gave the crowd a look and spotted Captain Enrico with an important S.T.A.R.S officer who they all recognized.

The important S.T.A.R.S officer had short straight blonde hair that is a reminiscence of the Val Kilmer movie style hair while he wore dark black shades that covered his eyes almost symbolizing him as a mysterious person. The S.T.A.R.S officer wore a blue shirt with the sleeves curled up to his upper arm with the S.T.A.R.S logo on the top sleeves with a black vest above the shirt. He wore black fingerless gloves, had a microphone eyepiece connected to the right ear, and wore black pants and black boots. The S.T.A.R.S officer appeared to be talking with Enrico until he stared at Chris, Richard, and Forest momentarily.

"Captain Albert Wekser!"

The 3 S.T.A.R.S Officers said to each other quietly.

Albert Wesker…

The Captain and leader of S.T.A.R.S.

Not much is known about Wesker, the only thing everyone in S.T.A.R.S. has heard about Wesker is the fact that he also served in the military, but that was about Wesker's life. Many of the officers respect Wesker others describe him as a one-man army with his superior marksmanship and excellent deducting/planning skills that help him with the credibility to be S.T.A.R.S leader which surprises RPD due to many people believing Enrico to become the leader of S.T.A.R.S due to his popularity with the people instead of Wesker who was largely an enigma to everyone.

With the 3 S.T.A.R.S now knowing that the two captains were looking dead at them, they were determined not to make any mistakes, but they weren't sure to start since they hadn't practiced the new dance Sergeant Jason Storm told them.

"Hey, Chris..."

Chris was snapped out of his thoughts when Richard quietly spoke.

"We have no idea how this dance is going to go so let's just try our best,"

Richard said which got Chris to snap back to his senses with him nodding in response to his friend.

Chris would stare at Forest, his other friend who just stared back at him with a confident look in his eyes.

"Let's get this over with, guys."

The 3 officers gave each other a confident look as the crowd of people were anxiously waiting for them to perform.

"So… who wants to go first?"

Chris' question was forwarded to Richard and Forest, but none of them responded back and the 3 took a look at the crowd with the civilians and RPD officers staring and a noise of coughing is heard in the background.

"Damn… How about we all go together in a count of 3."

Forest proposes with Chris and Richard nodding.

"Alright. In 3

2

1."

Chris, Richard, and Forest all shouted.

"S.T.A.R.S FORMATION!"

The trio of dancing S.T.A.R.S officers had begun their performance with the crowd watching it with bated breath waiting to see this so-called special dance the trio would debut. Their performance however, was rather lackluster as they all did it irregularly and out of sync making the crowd stare in disbelief with everyone having a confused look on their face. The crowd began to laugh and even boo at the trio.

"What the hell…"

"Are we in a circus or something?"

"Stupid Tactics And Ridiculous Services…"

"DON'T SAY THAT! THAT IS NOT NICE!"

"These people are a special police force…"

In the other background, some of the fellow S.T.A.R.S officers such as Jill, Barry, and Edward sat along each other as they watched in disgust and embarrassment.

"Oh man I knew this would happen…"

Edward said as he placed his hand deep on his face.

"Chris, Forest, Richard… I am kicking your ass when this is over."

Jill said as she clenched her fist tight.

"Even my two daughters can perform better than them."

Barry started with amusement as they continued to watch the 3 S.T.A.R.S officers humiliate themselves.

Sergeant Jason Storm is extremely angry with the 3 S.T.A.R.S Officers performance and yells at them.

"WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING!"

"Sorry sir! We don't know the new dance so much!"

Richard said out to the sergeant but the S.T.A.R.S sergeant was too mad and responded.

"IF WE WEREN'T IN A SPECIAL EVENT I WOULD SHOOT YOU THREE ON SIGHT!"

Chris, Richard, and Forest continued the dance, but they were having a hard time trying to figure out the next steps, making Jason Storm more frustrated.

"SCREW IT! DO THE FINAL POSE!"

The 3 Officers did what Sergeant Storm told them and did the final pose which required them to spin their Samurai Edge pistol around like a ring until…

*BANG!*

"WHAT THE!"

?!

A terrifying gun shot was heard from Chris' handgun which was pointed up in the air as it shot and soon a dead bird dropped down with a bullet wound seen.

"...Opps….."

Chris said silently as the whole crowd in silence with no words being spoken until a clapping noise was heard from the crowd and it turns out to be from Captain Wesker who was oddly amused by that.

"CAPTAIN WESKER! WE ARE SORRY FOR MESSING UP THE DANCE!"

The 3 officers yelled and apologized to Wesker, but he didn't seem mad, sad, nor happy, he seemed calm and spoke to the 3 in a deep imitating calm voice.

"Don't be. In truth your performance would boost ratings for Raccoon City's total failure tv series."

Chris, Richard, Forest all took a deep sigh as they thought they were in trouble, but they went which made them happy.

Until Wesker said

"By the way, Police Chief Iron's wants to speak to the 3 of you…. Immediately."

The captain's words made the 3 disappointed with them walking down the stairway as the crowd began to laugh at them.

"HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAAA!"

As the crowd continued laughing, Chris, Richard, and Forest reached an empty spot where no crowds of civilians or regular officers were and soon they were approached by a middle-aged man with brown hair and a mustache and he wore a black RPD Sheriff uniform and a sheriff hat. He didn't seem amused by the 3 and started with.

"Well well well….."

Chris and the other 2 expect Chief Irons to yell at them, but the chief continues his introduction, surprising the 3.

"Well well well…"

"Well well well….."

The repeat startled to annoyed the 3 officers.

"WELL WELL WEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!"

"Are you finished, Chief Irons…"

Chris asked the police chief who then coughed and nodded to the 3 and finally spoke what he wanted to say.

"Chris Redfield, Richard Aikens, Forest Speyer. What you did today… I don't have the proper words today… Embarrassing, foolish, sad… Heck, even humiliating is what I had been thinking in my mind when I saw your 3 performances for that dance!"

"W-w-w-wait a minute."

Chris was a bit surprised by the man's statements and even felt embarrassed as his face was flushed red.

"I-I-I'm sorry we messed it up..."

Chris said, looking down a bit nervously.

"We tried the choreography but it was all out of sync so the only way we thought we could do something was to go with instinct on what dance moves to do."

Chief Irons then sighs and calms down after hearing Chris saying that and feeling ashamed for himself as well as the shameful looks Richard and Forest were giving off.

"I can't be mad at you forever… It would look bad for us in the special event if I scolded you completely. Besides mistakes, all I want from my officers is for them to learn from them and improve in the future. Now then, stop moping and enjoy the event.

"Yes sir!"

All 3 of them would say they felt relieved that the police chief had forgiven them.

They all soon relaxed and returned to their smiling and optimistic personalities once again and left the area to continue traveling around the training field until they saw 3 more S.T.A.R.S officers. The first one is dark-skinned and wears a red bandana on his head, has brown eyes, wearing a black tactical vest with a light yellow shirt underneath with the S.T.A.R.S logo seen on the sleeve. Chris, Forest, and Richard near the 1st Officer Joseph Frost. A good friend of theirs and Alpha's team Omni man.

Joseph Frost has his arm around the 2nd individual that had brown frizzle hair, and light blue eyes, is wearing a yellow vest with a tiny RPD letter on the top right side with a white t-shirt underneath that has the S.T.A.R.S logo on the shoulder and wore black camo pants. This individual is Brad Vickers. Alpha team's main Pilot, but he usually isn't deployed as a pilot on missions due to his timid nature.

The 3rd individual looks as old as Barry and Enrico as he is dark-skinned, has a mustache, and bald head, and wears a green coat with the S.T.A.R.S logo on the side. He is Kenneth J. Sullivan, the Bravo team's Point man and S.T.A.R.S main chemist.

The 3 were happy to see Chris, Richard, and Forest with Joseph giving the 3 a wide smile.

"You guys look like idiots out there! Bahahhahahahaa!"

Joseph said to his 3 friends who frowned at them.

The trio would feel like a rock had been dropped on him after hearing his old friend Joseph insult them and their performance.

"Hey that's not fair I know we messed up but come on! Sergeant Storm had made us perform the stupid-ass new dance! "

Forest would cross his arms and narrow his eyes as Richard and Chris chuckled at Joseph's responses as the omni man continued laughing with Kenneth sighing and speaking afterward.

"That's the sergeant alright. He would usually tell us something at the last minute and expect us to complete it."

Brad Vickers gave his opinion on the sergeant as well.

"I agree, he can be a bit mean. I usually avoid being around him."

While Chris and the others nodded to Brad, Joseph laughed at Brad's statement.

"Of course, you would do that Brad! You're a scaredy cat you know."

Brad shook off Joseph's hand.

"You don't have to point that out man…"

"Everyone knows you're a chicken Brad…"

Chris pointed out with Brad frowning which made a couple of them including Chris feel bad for him. Brad is more cowardly than the other S.T.A.R.S officers, but despite this, Brad is able to be a good help to them during their exercises and missions such as Brad giving them a good escape and support. While Chris was about to point that out, he felt a smack on the back of his neck that made him kneel.

"OWWW! Who in the hell hit me—"

Chris turned around to see Jill holding her hand up. She was also accompanied by Barry Burton and Edward Dewey as they both held their laughter with Jill looking dead at Chris.

"Oh come on, what was that for?" Chris said as he looked up at Jill with a frown on his face as she gave a big smirk. Barry and Edward also stopped laughing as Chris continued to get all defensive.

"I told you it was the sergeant's fault that we had to perform the stupid dance. It's not our fault we were so out of sync with it."

Jill chuckled and crossed her arms to speak to the somatic pointsman.

"Doesn't matter, You 3 manage to fuck things up and I wanted an excuse to slap you!"

Jill then turned her head towards Richard and Forest who quickly backed up as they caught Jill's glare.

"You two are about to get it as well."

"Woah hey now, let's just calm down alright? There's no need to do any slapping."

Richard pleaded as it held his high hand along with Forest, but Jill looked like she was about to knock those two out. Everyone heard footsteps from behind where all the S.T.A.R.S officers turned to see, Vice Captain Enrico and Captain Wesker.

Vice Captain Enrico and Captain Wesker stood in front of the entire S.T.A.R.S. group while they watched the whole scene between Jill, Richard, and Forest. Chris. All of the 9 S.T.A.R.S officers stood there silently with their heads lowered while they felt nervous about the situation. Wesker had a look of curiosity on his face while Enrico looked annoyed at the entire situation.

"Oh hey, captains? Hehe! How's it going?"

Joseph said with a nervous expression as he chuckled, with the other S.T.A.R.S officers including Chris all smiling at Wesker and Enrico.

Wesker and Enrico gave a polite smile back at the group and even waved to their S.T.A.R.S members with Enrico speaking up first.

"Hello there Officer Frost.

Enrico turned his attention to Chris, Forest, and Richard with a fake smile to forge the disappointment he had. Wesker soon spoke after with a hint of sarcasm underneath his mysterious and blank face.

"Chris, Forest, Richard. We hear that you guys had a fun-filled performance today, is this true?"

Chris, Forest, and Richard all turned nervous at the question as they all slowly nodded their heads with Chris being the first to speak.

"Uh… yes sir. But you see—"

Chris couldn't get himself to say the words and soon just dropped his head down with Richard and Forest doing the exact same thing, however Wesker inched it off as he continued, but he didn't seem all that mad at them.

"Don't feel threaten you 3, There's always conflict that happens in our task… That is why you three are S.T.A.R.S officers instead of being in RPD."

Wesker then takes a deep look at Chris.

"Especially you Chris… You are one of my men."

The trio breathed a sigh of relief as they felt like they dodged a bullet this time, Wesker's words were somewhat comforting in a way. Although not showing much emotion to their performances, Wesker's facial expression seemed to slightly lighten up in a way, but Wesker didn't end it there as he had something important to tell them and the rest of the S.T.A.R.S officers there.

"I'm positively sure everyone here has heard of the Arklay Murders"

The whole group of S.T.A.R.S officers had quickly looked at Wesker with their eyes going wide as they all nodded with a worried look on their faces. They have all heard of it, the murders of multiple families and civilians and the unknown identity of the killer responsible, but what made the case more odd and scary was the victims were eaten.

Jill being the first of the 9 S.T.A.R.S officers present there spoke up with her thoughts.

"Captain Wesker. The fact is pretty much known to all of us? But is there a reason you are telling us that? Did RPD find something new?

Wesker sighed in a way before he answered Jill's question.

"While the RPD hasn't found any major information on the murders recently, I've been told we are about to be part of that investigation in the Arklay Mountains soon."

"Whaaa?"

Chris couldn't believe his ears. The Arklay mountains were an empty forest-like area in the northwest far away from the residential areas of Raccoon City that was well known to be very dangerous as strange disappearances usually occur there on a regular basis. While some of the S.T.A.R.S officers like Jill, Barry, Richard, and Brad were on edge hearing that, some weren't necessarily too afraid of it with Forest speaking out and saying.

"Captain Wesker and Enrico I'm saying this right now… Those cases were caused by grizzly bear attacks."

Forest saying what he said just made Wesker's eyebrow raise and Enrico chuckled at Forest's statement as the vice captain spoke.

"Is that so officer Forest? Grizzly bear attacks are very rare in the Arklay Mountains and they usually don't target families."

"And Forest, bears usually don't eat humans you dumb fuck…"

Barry added to the Bravo's team pointman with Forest scoffing at Barry, while Captain Wesker adjusted his glasses and pointed out to the S.T.A.R.S officers.

"There's a lot of things about those murders that don't sound like they were done by any animal."

Richard then said something to the whole team which sounded bizarre.

"You guys don't think it's connected with a rumor going around that somewhere in the mountains, a secret facility lies within."

"A secret what now?"

Kenneth said which left the other S.T.A.R.S officers in disbelief and left Brad Vickers shivering and Chris thinking that Richard was just saying anything at this point.

"Richard, I think you need to get a rain check… A secret facility in the mountains? Like how in the world would that fly by and not be discovered in a heavily forested area!"

Chris stated as he and some of the other S.T.A.R.S felt it was pretty bonkers to hear, but Richard responded with a sigh and said.

"I'm not sure if it's true or not, but more and more people are making these weird urban legends in Raccoon City… A haunted mansion in the mountains, Mysterious buses, strange individuals in the city, mysterious soldiers sighted, and much more I could go on!"

Look at this guy yapping…

"Joseph said while some of the other S.T.A.R.S officers, excluding Brad, all looked at Richard in complete disgust with Chris speaking and giving Richard an annoyed look.

"You know what? You're right, there have been way too many rumors floating around town but most of this stuff is utter bullshit and I really hope you know that. Let's not get worked up over small little things like that."

Chris spoke up as the others started to nod with Jill adding.

"Yeah, these are just small little stories. Let's not overthink it."

As everyone came to agreement. Wesker adjusted his glass while Enrico calmed his composition, but all this talk on the possibilities of S.T.A.R.S investigation the Arklay Mountains made the Alpha team pointman wonder as he asked a question to Enrico and Wesker.

"If you are saying that we are going to investigate the mountains? Do you both know the date when that happens?"

Wesker turned to Chris with an emotionless expression and spoke.

"We're not quite sure just yet. Chief Irons has mentioned to me that it is soon, but he hasn't given us the confirmation that S.T.A.R.S are going to investigate the mountains. If that is the case however we will most likely work on this case separated with Bravo or Alpha team being sent in first."

Chris and the rest of the 9 S.T.A.R.S officers started to calm down and felt a bit of relief, but Enrico and Wesker noticed the ease of nerves and wanted the 9 officers to be serious about this with Enrico speaking out to them.

"Just because we aren't officially assigned to this case, doesn't mean you all can slack off. You are expected to complete your training, task, and assignments when given. Is that understood!"

The 9 S.T.A.R.S officers nodded their heads respectfully at Enrico's strong command as they all agreed to do as they were told. Chris spoke afterwards with a soft tone to his friend.

"Don't worry Enrico, we'll complete everything like you told us.

You can always count on us, yeah?"

"That's good to hear, Chris."

Enrico responded with a smile as Wesker spoke next with a more serious tone in his voice.

"Once we obtain any updates on this case, either Enrico or I will inform you. Now this meeting is dismissed and I hope you all try to enjoy yourselves at the 4th of July celebration."

Everyone saluted Wesker and Enrico's way as the captains of S.T.A.R.S left, leaving Chris, Jill, Barry, Joseph, Brad, Forest, Richard, Edward, and Kenneth on wondering what to do.

"So since we are all here? What are you guys planning to do?"

Chris said to the rest of the group with Ricahard, Forest, Edward, and Kenneth all forming a group.

"We're just gonna head down to our favorite bar and chill over a few drinks."

Forest responded with a cocky attitude with Edward soon responding with.

"Yeah, yeah. I've heard the bar has the best drinks in town and the best part is, we have a friend who owns the place too so we're getting a pretty nice discount right?"

Chris gave a look towards them as he wondered why he wasn't invited.

"So you guys planned this without including me in the loop?"

Chris wasn't the only person who seemed irritated by this, Barry was mildly annoyed by it and Jill gave the group a big frown and replied with.

"How come we can not go as well?"

"Sorry guys, but this is an all out Bravo group thing! We wanted to bring our newest member to S.T.A.R.S along with us, but… she is sick at the moment sadly."

Richard said out to Chris, Jill, Barry, Brad, and Joseph, as they were Alpha team which made them disappointed upon hearing, but they began curious about the new S.T.A.R.S member as they haven't heard of her, but before anything of them could ask who she was, Forest look at his Bravo team group and said with a smile.

"Guys let's hurry up before the Sergeant finds us and start commanding us to do stupid shit!"

"Right Forest, right. Let's head on down to that bar and get this party started. I'll pay for the first round guys!"

Edward spoke out and the rest of the group laughed and nodded in response as they all began making their way towards the bar.

Chris, Jill, Barry, Brad and Joseph were all disappointed that they weren't invited but there wasn't much they could do about it. They watched as the Bravo team headed on their way towards the bar they all frequented, but once the group was out of sight, Chris started asking Jill a question.

"Hey Jill. Do you mind if I ask a question?"

"Of course, what is it Chris?"

Jill's attention was focused on Chris and she looked as if she were paying close attention to his words.

"Who was the Bravo team's new member Forest was talking about?"

Chris's facial expression was a bit puzzled as Jill seemed to think about this for a moment before responding.

"I generally do not know? I didn't even know we had a new team member Chris? I mean I am glad it's another female as we needed another girl in S.T.A.R.S So I'm not the only woman in the whole force!"

Jill looked quite excited about the new bravo team member and Chris seemed pleased that she was happy along with Barry, Brad, and Joseph, but the hot-tempered omni man(Joseph) decided to point out a detail to Jill as a joke to irritate her.

"But would that still mean you would be the only woman in Alpha team since the new member is in Bravo team."

Jill is annoyed by Joseph but she didn't want to really blow up at him right now as he was only fucking with her.

"Alright you little smart-ass."

Jill said as Joseph just smiled smugly and laughed to himself a bit while Chris and Barry chuckled slightly.

Joseph then looked back at Brad as the two stepped back with Joseph saying.

"Well me and Brad are just going to chill and see what is the deal with the attractions in the 4th of July event."

"Well, I'm sure there would be plenty of nice attractions there for you two. It's our time to celebrate freedom and stuff right?"

Brad stated as Joseph nodded his head in agreement with the two of them leaving Chris, Barry, and Jill.

"It's always the three of us together,"

Barry commented and laughed as Chris and Jill gave a warm smile to Barry.

"Yeah, pretty much. I mean we are the best trio in the whole unit. We've been together since the very beginning and we'll be a trio until the very end."

Chris smiled at the two as the three of them walked together away, but then it began to rain from above as the dark clouds blocked the sun.

"Dammit, always when we're having the best time,"

Chris said as both Jill and Barry laughed at Chris's reaction.

It wasn't raining terribly which gave Chris a sigh of relief, but he still was hoping it would clear up so he could feel the warm sun as he and his friends continued to walk through the training field during the event. Chris and his friends looked around to see many attractions. They saw a small stand that had outfits reminiscent of S.T.A.R.S and RPD, a pet police dog, and a game area with spray bottles, bean bags, and a target range that interested Chris.

"Hm, a target range? You know what? I say we take a break and go to the target range. Who here wants to take on a bet that I can hit every single bullseye?"

Chris said with a smug expression on his face and Barry snickered at the thought of this.

"You're on. I've never seen your ass miss a goddamn shot, my friend."

Barry shouted out to Chris as Chris chuckled and smiled at Barry's belief in him.

Jill chuckled at Chris.

"OK then. Let's see how you do in the target range for kids."

Chris huffed and smiled at Jill as the 3 approached the target practice game which was attended by a male wearing a yellow shirt and white hat. The attendee noticed the 3 and greeted them with a warm welcome in an eccentric voice.

"Why hello there! Would you 3 S.T.A.R.S officers care to try out my target game!"

"Sure, why not? We're here to have some fun right?"

Chris replied to the man as Jill and Barry nodded their heads in agreement with Chris.

"Good choice! And since you are skilled individuals in combat. I will up the stakes for my game. If you can manage to score 1000 points! I will give you a special prize!"

"What is this special prize?"

Jill said in an unimpressed way since she, Chris, and Barry expected it to be a basic toy or even a picture.

The eccentric man replied with a laugh upon hearing Jill as if her question was a joke and said.

"Special prize is a secret, my friend! Hehehe, Only if you manage to score 1000 points will you be able to get the special prize!"

"Alright buddy, it looks like we have ourselves a challenge then! How much is the initial point?"

Chris said with a smirk as he felt confident, but he was acting a bit prideful since he felt it would be a chance for him to fire a weapon so he wouldn't lose his sharpshooter status. Chris felt it was very important for him to have the skill in order to be a valuable member to S.T.A.R.S.

Once the attendee is finished setting up the game. He gave Chris a dummy handgun toy pistol with rubber bullets and told him the basic rules of the game.

This is regular target practice! Throughout your journey you will come across different practice ranges with different targets, class of weapons, and prizes.

This target practice is the festive one, purely a normal one for civilian use.

The target are 2 bottles, one a red and the other a shiny blue.

The red bottles are worth 50 points and are common.

The blue bottles are worth 100 points and are uncommon.

The bottles will appear for 5 seconds before retracting and reappearing. You only have 1 minute to complete the firing practice.

Chris nodded his head and took the toy gun in his hands as he began to stand in front of the target with Jill and Barry behind him looking on, waiting to see the fun unfold.

"Alright, then let's see how I fare in this little game of yours."

Chris began aiming as he waited and waited until the attendee inches his end to a red button near the back wall of the stand.

"BEGIN!"

The attendee activated the red button which started the target game with the lights above the bottles lighting up showing Chris the different colors of the bottles as it retracted into the stand and reappeared quickly. The rapid speed of the retraction and reappearance of the bottles was much faster than what Chris had anticipated, it was actually challenging following through the bottles.

"Damn. I thought this was supposed to be a normal carnival exhibition!"

Chris said to the attendee who gave him a mischievous smile. While Chris continued looking at the bottles, Jill and Barry started smirking at Chris.

"Hey, Chris! Are you having trouble with this kid's game!"

Barry taunted Chris with Jill's chuckles becoming laughter.

The taunting from Chris's friends bothers him but also encourages him to demonstrate his sharpshooting skills. Chris started and waited at the bottles for the perfect moment while the attendees started to laugh.

"I'll show you both that this is the easy part. Just wait and see as I hit every bottle and gain the most points!"

Chris smirked and finally, he pulled the trigger at a rapid rate firing the toy gun at the bottles.

*BANG BANG BANG!*

The red bottles got destroyed as they popped and disappeared right in front of Chris's eyes but something didn't seem right. He noticed another red bottle appear but the blue bottle also appeared simultaneously.

*BANG, BANG, BANG!

Chris quickly shot the second bottle as it broke as well but another bottle also immediately appeared. The game was very fast-paced from what he initially thought and he was starting to struggle. He soon got irritated and yelled at the attendee.

"Hey, what is this? The bottles appear and disappear way too fast, it's like they're on steroids here or something!?."

"It wouldn't be fair if I didn't spark the difficulty of people who are skilled, especially people that are part of S.T.A.R.S!"

The attendee said and laughed which further fueled Chris to score 1000 points as he took a deep breath to focus and soon.

*BANG BANG BANG!*

The red bottles were easily dealt with, but another red bottle appeared back instantly. Chris had to adjust his focus as he was still keeping an eye on the red bottles but he focused on the blue bottles since they were worth the most points.

*BANG BANG BANG!*

Soon Chris started to finally adjust to the fast pace of the target and managed to score 500 points which impressed Barry and Jill.

"Alright Chris, Showing you sharpshooter status,"

Jill said as she grew a smile while Barry shouted.

"Get it going, Chris!"

*BANG BANG BANG!*

Chris continued to fire the toy gun while also trying to focus on the blue bottles. The blue bottles were very tricky and hard to hit due to how fast they popped and disappeared.

"Come on, I'm almost there!"

Chris started to get excited, with less than 30 seconds left and he was close to earning the special prize with 840 points.

The man soon became surprised that Chris started to do well as Chris continued to fire the bottles as he racked up points.

"I don't believe this now!"

*BANG BANG BANG!*

Chris's heart quickened at how he was doing with the game, but he also got more and more nervous each time he missed the blue bottles.

"Come on, come on! I almost got it guys!"

Both Barry and Jill were surprised but also excited for Chris, with only 10 seconds left it still seemed Chris was very close to taking home the special prize as he was faced with the final target remained with a blue bottle, however, it was the only bottle to be seen as it retracted much faster and repeated in different locations as if it was following a path.

Chris watched the blue bottom carefully and carefully as it moved at an irregular speed and almost looked like it was rigged. But Chris didn't want to give up his pride as a point man, even if it was only a children's game.

"I'm not most people,"

Chris said out loud, adjusting his tone to sound cool and tough as he soon found the perfect link to shoot the final fast blue bottle.

*BANG!*

*SHATTERED!*

GAME END

THANKS FOR PLAYING!

The target game finally deactivated and the bottles stopped retracting as the score of 1000 points displayed on the screen. Chris had achieved his challenge.

"HELL YAY!"

Chris said with a bright smile on his face as he looked over at his friends who gave a smile and a nod of approval in his direction.

However, the eccentric man was staring at the screen in surprise with a nervous sweat drop showing on his forehead, he was stunned this man completed the game with a perfect score.

"The special prize… Welp… a promise is a promise."

The attendant gave Chris Redfield the special prize which turned out to be

1 Hand grenade

As the attendant handed off the hand grenade to Chris he looked at it bewildered before he turned around and looked back at the attendant with an expression of shock.

"A grenade? Is this the special prize!"

Chris, Jill, and Barry were really surprised that a special prize for a kids game is a dangerous handheld explosive. Jill gave a questioning look at the man and said.

"Why is that a special prize for these types of games?"

The attendant responded with a laugh and said.

"It's a reward for a special challenge that we only award to people who are considered 'experts' in their field. You would be surprised how many people have managed to fail this game or simply just couldn't hit all 1000 points. But you sir managed to score 1000 points and that is not only impressive but also makes you a very special individual so I decided to reward you with a special little reward."

Despite the award being commended for the S.T.A.R.S officers, that still presents a problem of a regular person and Barry decided to point it out.

"So what if some kid or random civilian manages to achieve 1000 points… Would you give them the hand grenade?"

The attendant who didn't seem fazed by the realization responded as if it wasn't a problem at all.

"You know? I never actually thought about that. You're right, what if a random civilian or a child actually managed to score 1000 points, well…It would be a cool souvenir for them…"

Chris facepalmed with Jill groaning and Barry crossing his arm he heard the eccentric man's response to his question.

"Either S.T.A.R.S or RPD will deal with you once this event is done."

The eccentric man chuckled as he saw the reactions from the group.

"I'll handle that when that happens. Until then you guys enjoy the rest of the event."

After the man said that, The 3 S.T.A.R.S officers decided to walk away as they gave the man a questioning look until they were far away with Chris giving his thoughts to the others.

"Well, that was certainly interesting. I can't believe he just handed me a grenade as a reward for a kid's target game! I mean, thanks but still that was kind of wild."

Chris said as he turned once again and turned to look at Barry and Jill both of them shrugged in agreement with a nod in their heads.

"Well, at least we got something that could help us in the future,"

Jill commented as the 3 continued to walk through the training fields and wondered what else they could do in their time to enjoy their moments of the 4th of July event, but their time of relaxing in Raccoon City will soon come to an end as this is was a prelude for the story and the mysterious in Raccoon City and the Arklay Mountains Murder.
