It was the full moon, geared up in training gear. I made my way to the training ground. Nezu made a point of showing me when I had asked permission to continue the fight night. I had decided to hold off on moving into the staff dorms until tonight. The apartment is a mess of boxes with files and computer parts. Which granted that was 10 boxes maybe but still the one table was covered.
But that could wait, right now I had pokeballs for 21 of my 22 pokemon on my belt or on the two specialized straps over my chest.
The night was young, the moon shining bright as I closed my apartment door behind me. It was time for some fun. Taking off for Ground Omega. The jungle a perfect place for us all. Rushing off quickly, jogging off quietly leaving the apartment building to not disrupt any of my neighbors. As I jogged along to the gate I took a deep breath and let aura free. Letting my senses loose and the bonds with the pokemon through clearly. Excitement and energy pulsed in the bond. Everyone knew what day it was. Coming to the gate it opened as soon as I made my final approach, once the gate was closed I grabbed the two sashes and with a tug and flick I pulled them off and released all of my monsters.
Akio stood at the front, my Lucario and starter stood at the front. Then there were the rest: Blaze the Charmander, Kyubi the Vulpex, Nightmare the shiny Ponyta, Dratini, Ralts, Absol, Bagon, Beldum, Turtwig, Eraser the Shinx, Shellos, Demon the Gible, Prysm the Snorunt, Zorua, Froakie, Talo the Fletchling, Chomper the Tyrunt, Dream the Mudbray, and Marshadow.
Feebas and Rotom did not come out. With Feebas still needing water in order to well, do anything, and Rotom being a non fighter, and more valuable in electronics and monitoring a fight.
"Alright, Ladies and Gentlemen," I clapped my hands together, the pokemon moving into a semi circle. "The training gounds are ours for the night, and it is the full moon!" The monsters around me roared and cheered. The air and ground seeming to vibrate with the noise. I chuckled well used to the love for fight night.
"That being said Rules!" This of course there were whines and roars of protest. "As you all are already aware you are in your first stages. You're first levels, that and this place is not made for you. SO! No ult moves such as solar beams earthquakes or anything beyond your CURRENT physical capabilities." Looking over the monsters ready to fight. Some were snorting and annoyed but all were accepting and listening. "Alright, tonight, free hunting!" This had them all cheering right up. "That's right, we stay in bounds, other humans or living beings are off bounds. And in 4 hours, we meet on the rock face!" Pointing up to the cliff side near the middle of the training grounds. "Those still standing will be allowed to continue to the true fight night! That means your energy levels are above 50% and you are not anything more than scratched up. AND NO BITING OFF LIMBS!" I looked right at Demon and Chomper who answered by snapping their jaws. Demon even making a point of showing off her teeth. I lifted my left arm up to the air and all the pokemon fell silent, eyes on my hand waiting for the sign of release. The moment I brought my hand down the monsters turned taking off. Predators and Prey were trained hunters now. Taking off as most got away from the free for all while the more aggressive lunged for their favorite targets. Thankfully Demon and Chomper tripped over each other and were now fighting each other giving me the time to run and climb up a tree avoiding several other attacks. Oh this would be fun.
Coming back to the staff dorms in the early morning was not so fun, the staff dorms were a lot like what I imagine college dorms to be like. Rooms set up for private space and a living area that mixed with a living room and kitchen in a shared public space. Grabbing a folder that was on the coffee table waiting for me. Picking it up as I made my way to the coffee machine, Opening the file to find a flashdrive in a baggie stabled to the top and a police report. Reading over the report I started making my coffee. Grabbing a mug from the back of the cabinet and everything.
It was the yelp that grabbed my attention, jumping a bit to look up and blinking as I looked up to see a strong jawed, dark tanned caucasian man with dreads. Blinking a few times thinking over the staff here at UA. Dreads, cloak, ah I know.
"Hello Snipe, sorry am I in the way?"
"Urm, kid…. There is a lizard, biting your leg." I blinked at what he pointed out. Looking down to see Demon was indeed still biting on the bite sleeve around my leg.
"Yeah, she does that, her name is Demon. Don't worry, she won't be let out often." Putting the coffee mug down and reaching into my pocket for her pokeball, kneeling down I extract my leg from the Gibble's mouth and send her into her ball. Before straightening up and grabbing my coffee. Looking back to Snipe he seemed to still be processing the situation. I shrugged and grabbing my file walked towards and then up the stairs. It was time for a nap.
It was just after noon and my alarm went off. Set off by a boss called Nezu wanting a meeting with me. Still covered in bruises and bandages, sore and more than a little cranky. Empty mug on the night stand and file on the bed next to me I got up. Not even trying to tame my wild shoulder length curls as I grabbed just my wrist computer and belt the only ball on the belt being Akio's, and Talon's. Wearing jeans and the tight short sleeve shirt. Coming to the office the door opened automatically and I was met with the sight of a happy cheery Nezu, a man who looked like he never got enough sleep, and a cockatoo sitting in the chairs in front of his desk.
"Nezu," I glare at the secret mouse cat. "It's a full moon." I grit out.
"Oh I am fully aware, but you see some of my staff are concerned." Nezu smiled wide as he started to pour a cup of tea. In hope of another blend from home I stepped into the office. Taking the cup, a full mug oh the cat mouse knew me well. "You made quite the racket last night."
"Hello," the cockatoo spoke up as I took a long drag of the brew. Ah, the disappointment, jasmine tea, good but not home. I looked over to the yellow man.
"Hello Present Mic, how are the new directional speakers working," I lowered the mug as I asked my question. His eyes widened a bit and he smiled wide.
"They're working wonderfully, did you help make them, Little Listener?" He asked with a kind smile on his face.
"You're the analyst, what are you, 10?" The tired man asked, looking at him, seeing the capture weapon and goggles.
"14, Eraserhead," I corrected him. "There a reason to Nezu's madness or am I just awake for no reason?" 4 hours of sleep after a full moon was not an acceptable amount of sleep. Most of my monsters slept in to the next morning and that included the problem sets.
"We, the staff- well other staff," Present Mic corrected himself when Nezu tutted softly. "Heard some interesting things from training ground Omega…." Now I was thoroughly unimpressed as I looked at Nezu.
"You didn't warn them," I sigh, the rodent looked thoroughly amused.
"oh but I thought you would, Midoriya. After all, they are your neighbors." Nezu looked all too pleased with himself.
"Can we get to why the kid is bruised up?" Eraserhead cut through before the two of us could bicker.
"On full moons, I have a 'Fight Night'," looking over to Eraserhead. "My quirk," the agreed, lying now on my papers and everywhere. "Basically has me being a monster trainer. So me and my monsters were training. Which would explain what you heard. They've been a little pent up, and the free for all got a little heated." I tapped Talon's pokeball and the once Fletchling was now a Fletchinder. The bird appearing on my shoulder giving Eraserhead a glimpse of one of my monsters. Thankfully the bird was calming down with progress we were doing in getting him back to his former glory.
"And the injuries," Eraserhead asked in a tired draw. I merely shrugged my shoulders.
"Part of the job," Nezu's knowing look was more than enough already. "Can I go back to bed now? We only finished an hour after sun up." I complained to the pseudo legendary. Talon was completely unbothered as he sat comfortably on my shoulder. Mic looked to be rather transfixed by the monster.
"Have you completed the file I left for you this morning," Nezu asked.
"Rotom has a partial file I think. I fell asleep working on it."
"What file?" Eraserhead asked standing up.
"It's your Trigger case in district 14," I hum, pulling my wrist computer from my back pocket. Pulling up the electronic file. "Hmm, Rotom has narrowed down possible locations for the next big shipment further than I anticipated. The report should be done in a few hours. Can I go back to bed now?" Lowering the device to glare at the rodent. He sighed as if heavily put upon by the question. Ignoring the slowly bubbling anger in the room. After all it wasn't directed at me, but at the boss. Oh boy it seems I had another over protective adult on my hands.
"I suppose if you must, but please have the file complete before 5," Nezu hummed as I set his mug down carefully on the desk.
"I'll get it to you when Rotom and I are satisfied with it," I hum, "I am not handing over partial information that could get your operatives killed." Unbothered by the warning glare from Nezu. "That being said, I need some intel about those darts in district 78. Those could be a building problem."
"I will see what I can find," Nezu hummed.
"Rotom will send you the file, now please excuse me…. I'd rather not be here when he explodes," I jerked a thumb at the still deadpanning black haired hero and turned walking right out of the office. Shutting the door and getting to hear the roar.
'SHE IS A CHILD!' Rotom snickered from the wrist computer.
"Seems you are in danger of being adopted," Rotom laughed, unbothered by this new threat.
'Again,' Akio hummed unhelpfully.
"Hush, it's nap time." I had a bed to get back too.
