Bakugo dragged Reille through the forest. "Now you are going to be responsible."
"I will not kill him!" Reille said.
"Yes you will. He's a thief. Who knows what he will use that wand for?" Bakugo said. "I'm losing track of him. This forest is too thick."
"M-Maybe we should return home." Reille said, eager to get away.
"What, and let the thief escape?" Bakugo said wildly. "What would people think if I spared the life of someone who stole from me?"
"That there's actually a man hiding behind the beast?" Reille said hopefully.
"There isn't." Bakugo growled.
"Then why didn't you kill me when I freed the prisoner?" Reille pointed out.
"Well, I would have. But good help these days is very really to find." Bakugo attempted.
"I think that you are not as dark as you want people to believe." Reille continued. "I think that deep down, there's love in your heart. And for something more than power."
"You're right." Bakugo said. "There is something I love." Reille leaned in, intrigued. "My things!" Bakugo cackled and stopped the carriage.
Reille rolled her eyes. "You really are as dark as people say."
"Darker. Much darker." Bakugo glared.
"Bakugo and Reille exited the carriage.
"Uhh! Sheriff Ida sniffed. "What are you doing in my woods?"
"Pardon the intrusion, sheriff." Bakugo said politely. Reille shot him a look. "I'm looking for a thief. He attacked me with this bow. I traced him as far as these woods, and then he vanished."
"Yes," Sheriff Ida said. "I know exactly who you're after. But I also know who you are, Beast Bakugo."
"My reputation precedes me." Bakugo rubbed his hands together. "Excellent."
"Yes, as does your penchant for making deals." Sheriff Ida smiled. "I'll tell you where you can find your thief... if you give me something in return."
"What do you want?" Bakugo snapped.
"I want…her." Ida pointed at Reille.
"She's not for sale." Bakugo snarled.
Ida Laughed. "You can't part with her for, say, an hour? 20 minutes?"
"Let me think. Um..." Bakugo blasted him in the face. "I propose a new deal. You tell me everything you know about the man I am hunting, and maybe you'll keep your life." He blasted him twice more. Reille grabbed his arm and shook her head. Bakugo stopped. "Quite right we should let him tell us what we want to know."
Ida gasped and clutched his burns in agony.
Bakugo put his hand in the sheriff's face. "Start talking.
"The thief that you're after—I've been chasing him for years. He ruined me! He stole the woman I love and... made me the laughing stock of all of Nottingham." Ida gasped.
"Where can I find him?" Bakugo flexed his fingers.
"Well, the last I heard, he was hiding out in Sherwood Forest."
"And his name?"
"Izuku Midoriya. He goes by "Deku."
