At the base of Demon's Bluff, Reille was being held captive by Deku and Prince Shoto. They were desperate to destroy the greatest Villain in the lands; the only way they could find happiness with their loved ones.
Reille didn't blame them. But they didn't believe her claims that she could save Bakugo from his evil cursed powers.
In fact, they had laughed. So she wasn't surprised when Bakugo came out of the mists at full power.
"I have what you want, heroes." Bakugo growled. "Now show yourselves."
"Bakugo!" Reille called as Shoto scorched her slightly. "Ow! Help!"
"Yes, Kacchan!" Deku called. "Come help her! You know we don't want to spill her blood—but we will if we have to.
"Deku," Bakugo snarled. "Oh, I am impressed. Didn't think you had it in you, ya damn nerd."
Deku grabbed Reille and pulled her to him. "I'm not here for your praise, Kacchan. Give me the gauntlet and you can have your wench back."
"Seeing as how you asked so nicely..." Bakugo blasted the cliff, sending the heroes and Reille scrambling. In a second, his hand was around Deku's throat.
"You think you can steal from the Great Beast and live?" Bakugo cried. "Fatal mistake, hero! Any last words?"
"I'm... Not... Alone." Deku choked out.
"IcyHot…" Bakugo hissed
"Such a pretty thing." Prince Shoto said. "Seems a shame I'll have to scorch her lovely skin."
"Harm one hair on her head, I'll blow you all to hell."
"But that would kill your maid, Kacchan!" Deku cried, betraying his concern.
Bakugo smiled. "You don't haveta be concerned. My shots only hit the bad guys. Right Reille?"
Remembering the arrow, Reille grinned and nodded. "For sure."
"I gotta say," Bakugo continued. I'm... I'm surprised to see you all here. Last time we crossed, it looked like things weren't going your way. And unless you hand back my maid, they won't be this time, either."
"Shall I get you a step stool so you can look in my eyes when you threaten me?" Shoto mocked.
"I don't need to threaten ya, IcyHot." Bakugo said leasurely. "It took both of you and a whole kingdom to get this far, and I promise it isn't far enough."
"Have it your way." Shoto said carelessly. "Deku, crush the maid's heart."
Deku hesitated, and that was all Bakugo needed. He handed over the glove to save his girl.
"That was, uh, pretty damn risky for an old glove, heroes."
"Oh, the risk was worth it." Shoto. "For too long we've lived in a world where villains like you always win."
"And the gauntlet will reveal our enemies' weaknesses," Deku said. "and we will be the victors."
"It's fine now Deku." Shoto said. "Let her go."
Deku let go and Shoto pushed her so she fell at Bakugo's feet. Then the two vanished in a swirl of snow and ice.
"Why... Why would you do that?" Reille exclaimed. "I... I... I mean, with that object..."
"They still won't be able to harm you." Bakugo said and helped her up.
"Why do you care about me?"
"…I don't." Bakugo paused. "But if anyone's gonna crush your heart, it's gonna be me."
