Reaper of Rome chapter 1 – the demigod origins and the agent
This story is if Ichigo was a demigod along with his other natures mixed in
This chapter will be before the proper start of bleach and most of the main story will be what happens between the main stories.
And I will mostly summarize the events of the main story. But that will be for the next chapter at least.
This chapter will start from isshin's pov and switch to ichigo's pov later.
Most of the story will tell the events between time skips but I will tell that later.
There will be a few crossover characters from other anime and media besides bleach, but I will reveal those and their pairing as the story goes on.
I will cover the events of substitute arc briefly and add a little bit of Ichigo x Rukia
Isshin pov
before I met her, I was the captain of the tenth division and was set arranged to marry the daughter of the Feng family. I never met the girl much, but our families arranged it long before I was born. I also knew my niece was set to marry the head of the Kuchiki at some point as well, but she lost that and as our clan feel out of favor, I was considered the last hope for our clan regain its status.
But that changed when I investigated strange deaths and then ended up facing what had to be a Vasto Lorde, but I was saved by a strange woman. Then saved her when it self-destructed. But those events lead to me losing it all including my abilities as a soul reaper. I had to lose them to save the woman from becoming a hollow and in time I ended up earning my college degree as a doctor and marrying the woman I saved and even taking up her family name.
it was a year into our marriage we tried to have children, but that's when we learned the near Hollowfication affected her ability to have children as she suffered miscarriage over and over. In time we asked the man that helped save her in the first place Kisuke Urahara. He soon told us; he couldn't help but seeking the aid from other pantheons might be the best option. He then guided us to the old Olympic village in Sapporo to try and find a shrine left by an Italian to the roman gods. Kisuke mentioned at least the Greek/roman gods, the Egyptian gods and the Norse gods were still around this day and age and their various kids would compete and leave shrines behind during the games. He soon helped us find the best remaining shrine and it was to the roman goddess Diana. We were told she was the moon goddess and then Kisuke summoned her to help us.
the man then brokered a way to repair Misaki's ability to have children, and that involved mixing her blood with ours and her carrying our child for a few months. Then Misaki would carry it for the rest of term and after giving birth be able to have children normally. We then waited for months on end until the goddess came to the clinic Masaki, and I founded for the goddess to return and place our son in her womb. She then requested her join camp Jupiter when the time was right. Then four years later we ended up having twin daughters. But when five more years later tragedy struck, and a hollow attacked with neither Misaki nor being able to do anything to fight back and not a soul reaper close enough to aid us. it was then my wife died and a large female wolf came to the clinic.
Said wolf revealed she could talk and told me her name was Lupa and then took my son for training as in his roman demigod linage. From what point I wouldn't know his fate until he reached New Rome. But after a year, I ended up learning his fate and arranged a deal with the praetors that he would return for the last year of middle school and then high school. then if he managed to survive through ten years of service in the legion my son would get a full free ride through college in America. In his free time, my son ended up calling or writing letters and calling me. he told me about all the training, how he met other demigods and legacies of various other roman gods and how he trained and did other work in new Rome. He told me about changing of various officers and even the leaders of the camp. he ended up saying that even with the praetor changed the old promise would still be kept.
Ichigo pov
It wasn't long after my mother died, that I heard a howling at night. Then the next morning when I told my father, he told me "You actually have two mothers. Masaki carried you for the last half of the pregnancy and your other mother is the roman moon goddess Diana." I then asked, "so what does that have to do with howling?" he replied "they you the pack of Lupa the wolf goddess and they will bring you to the United States to train in the heritage of your mother. They will train you in the first stage of your demigod training and prepare you for the next stage. You will leave tomorrow night." After telling me that, I waited for a pack of wolves to arrive at my door and whisk me to a place known as the wolf house. I ended up training for a year until Lupa deemed me ready to head to New Rome.
The wolf goddess warned me monsters may try to attack on the path but there was also a chance I could end up having an easy route path to new Rome. She didn't say much besides that I would learn why in the future. But my route ended up on the easier side and was mostly a hike from the wolf house to the city. When I made it to the city gates, it then went through light processing before being allowed to join the legion with a blond boy a year older than me named Jason Grace agreed to be my sponsor. I ended up on probation status until my first war game and ended up both claimed by my godly mother and informed the praetor of the fact her virtue remained. It was at camp; I met the many house god ghosts known as the Lares and unlike campers I could touch them.
In time and training, I learned of the abilities I inherited from my mother. I discovered the usage of knives and bows came second nature to me. I also learned I could talk to animals and could even tap into the strength of animals to empower himself. I could even expand my senses through the animals. My greatest gifts were tied to the moon, I could stay up through the night when the moon was full or even stay up later overall throughout the cycles of the moon. I could also produce a silver glow and convert various things into weapons if needed. But when I did have to face monsters, my mother's special silver, celestial bronze and imperial gold were the best metals to kill monsters.
After two years of training and working in camp Jupiter, I ended up going on many quests with Jason and a new girl to the camp named Reyna Ramírez-Arellano. As part of the fifth cohort, we went had to do things to combat the titan Saturn. Then in my last year before returning to Japan again, I met two new girls about my age named Suletta Mercury, daughter of Vulcan and Jolyne Kujo, daughter of Keto along with the other member of their party a boy named Narciso Anasui. They all made it to the camp on a day, the cohort returned and ended up in the fifth cohort with Jason and me.
I knew in time we would go to war with the forces of Saturn. But I also knew for some reason the gods wanted me out of the war and I would have to return to Japan. I would spend the next part of my life as a normal teen and sadly lose the time I would spend in and with the friends I made. I then transferred into middle school at the end of summer break and spent time meeting old friends and making new friend one being Yasutora Sado aka Chad. The two of us worked together and kept the worst elements of both middle and high school under control. On returning to Japan, Lupa suspected a child of a minor god in the city, but their scent was strong yet. I did return to camp for the winter break and met up with Jason again for a quest to collect more imperial gold from Charleston, South Carolina. There is the praetor Reyna had a shocking revelation.
Then on spring break, I went on a quest to help find a missing leopard for Bacchus. If I knew that was going to be the last time, I would see Jason or learn the fate of my cohort, I would have said a better goodbye. I then returned to start high school and for a while thing were peaceful but in another month my life would change yet again.
The next part of my life started after I dealt with bullies damaging a shrine, I went home and sat in my bed after studying. It was there I met a stunningly pretty girl. She was short but pretty and in black robes. She also carried a sword like a samurai and seemed like she didn't know I could see her. but after she ignored me, I kicked the girl and turned on my lights.
It was after I got the girl to talk, she told me her name was Rukia and the fact she was soul reaper and what her job entailed. I replied, "so you are like Thanatos or the Valkyries." She said "you are well informed for a human. America has many cultures, so many different beings usher dead souls into different afterlife. In Japan only soul reapers do the job." It was then she found one of the ghosts of people that died in the clinic and ushered him to the soul society. Then after that she gave me a lesson on the Japan afterlife with cute bunnies and told me souls were divided in good souls or wholes and bad spirits or hollows. It was when I made fun of her art that the girl bound me with magic. Then told me soul reapers sent good souls to her afterlife and purified bad souls.
It was after that lesson; I found my sister passing out in the hall and Rukia said it was a hollow, but I was still bound by her magic and couldn't help fighting. I then heard my other sister in danger and with the help of the moonlight and willpower, I broke the magical binding and then turned a chair into a blade to try and fight the hollow myself. But that still wasn't enough to even touch the monster. The but Rukia manage to get my sister out of the monster's hold and defend me.
It was then Rukia informed me that my earlier encounter with the ghost girl gave the hollow my scent and I then tried to fight the hollow myself only for the black clad girl to take the hollow's bite for me. The injured girl then offered to give me her powers to fight the monster myself. She then stabbed me with her sword and infused her power into me. I then used the powers of said girl to kill the hollow in one slice with the giant blade in my hands. After I defeated the monster, I must have passed out and woke in my bed.
It came to school the next day and I found out Rukia had joined my school as a student and that I had to help her do her job and I learned she was using a temp body to hold her soul until she recovered. After school that day Rukia moved into my closet. It was then over the next few weeks; I gained something to control my body while I was in reaper form. Then had to help my classmates Orihime and Chad with hollow problems of their own.
It wasn't long after that, I noticed the anniversary of my mother's death was coming and that I had to visit her grave. But at her grave, I learned the one that killed her was a very sneaky hollow that even I couldn't land a killing blow on. But I did learn that another reaper was in the city to hunt the hollow as he mentioned the massive size of my sword.
After that, Rukia ended up drawing me into a ghost show and we learned of a man that had enough spirit power to be dangerous but not truly fight hollows. When he turned a nearly hollow ghost into the complete thing, I ended up having to kill purify the hollow with my own blade. The next day came and ended up meeting another classmate, that was spiritually aware named Uryu Ishida. He told me he was a human that could kill hollows with a special spirit bow called a Quincy. Rukia then explained about Quincy's and how their method of killing hollows was very bad. Due to the fact it destroyed the balance of souls.
It was a few days later that Uryu revealed soul reaper wiped out most of the Quincy, but part of me thought that was done for more than just to keep the balance of souls. Then he said in the recent killings was his grandfather. It was a day later that, the Quincy set up a contest to kill hollows between us by using bait to draw a large number of the monsters. In the end of the game a super-sized hollow called a Menos Grande and after driving it away Uryu had to drain off my extra spirit power. with my last breath I said, "shoot it at the moon."
I then woke up in my bed with a dark-haired woman looking over me that said "I heard your message my son and I saw you likely won't be able to return to camp any time soon. also, my son you must be ready an enemy that will cause you great danger will arrive soon." I wondered what that could be as I passed out.
It was the next day and I started to figure out, I had feelings for Rukia and needed to confirm if she felt the same way. But as I did, kept missing the chances to talk to her alone. Either Kon, or my classmates or my family or just being in class kept me from asking her and I was too scared to ask in public. My closest chance to talk was when she was on a tree but the other girls in the class asked us to lunch and blocked me yet again. even during lunch seemed to not want to admit she liked me, but I could tell there was something there. It was after school was over, I nearly asked her what she meant but then Kon came and broke the mood.
Rukia pov
It was after the battle with the menos, that I couldn't leave the closest as a strange being seemed to enter the room with Ichigo and me. I heard a female voice say to me "sleep and if you need to know who I am. I am his godly mother. But some day later I hope to talk to you more about my son. I can say your presence is much like my brother." It was then I passed out in a dreamless sleep.
The next day, I kept wondering about Ichigo and my feelings toward him, I was worried I could be getting too attached to a human. Every time he was about to talk to me alone, I was happy to not hear what he said, I even denied liking him. but that was a lie to not just them but to me as well. When we nearly got the chance to talk, I was happy Kon stopped our talk. Then came that night and I knew I had to run away before I got even more attached. It was then I ran into a very familiar person.

With the next chapter, the pace will slow down much more as I will focus on blocks of episodes.
For the crossover characters they won't have that much to do until later stages for this story
The overall plan is to mostly focus on the events Ichigo and Rukia gets to see themselves
But for the next chapter I will have Ichigo clash with the two new soul reapers with a few different twists.
But first I will retouch on the adventures of Shirou reborn as Byleth as she had to start teaching.
