AN: This is a rewrite of my story With Her I Have Gone. That story was last updated in 2013, and I was much younger of course when I wrote it. I hope this updated version of the stories is just as much of a hit as the original story.
Bella crouched quietly in the bushes at the edge of the clearing. She watched, and she remained unseen by the red-furred werewolf and the small vampire-human hybrid. The young girl giggled, amused by the wolf's immature behavior as it tried to catch her attention. Bella's face scrunched up in distaste. She didn't believe that the child needed to be treated like an unthinking baby. The wolf ran off, not looking behind and trying to convince the young hybrid to follow in his game of tag. He seemed to trust that the girl would just follow him, as she had done many times before. He had no idea that Bella sat in the bushes, watching them closely. It was not Bella's fault that the wolf did not properly survey the area for safety. Either way, Bella felt her child was perfectly safe with her anyway. Before the girl could run after the wolf, Bella stepped out of the bushes. "Renesmee."
Renesmee turned her head and smiled when she saw her mother. She was constantly warned to stay away from the "dangerous and unpredictable vampire." She continued to visit with her mother anyway. If they really didn't want her to visit her mother, they should have kept a closer eye on her. In reality, Renesmee could easily be kept separated from Bella, meaning that maybe the vampires didn't realize just how dangerous and unpredictable she truly was. Renesmee could never understand how her family claimed Bella was harmful. Her mother was always so gentle to her. Renesmee ran to Bella, loudly whispering, "Mommy!"
Bella smiled lovingly and caught the girl. She held her close and said, "We don't have much time. I know that I have seen you many times before, but it's getting hard to visit you with Edward and Jacob always there to protect you." Bella glanced at the child in her arms. Renesmee didn't look any older than five and was actually younger due to her odd aging. Bella figured it would be easy to convince the child to go with her, and she would have to if she planned on seeing her daughter any longer. Edward and Jacob were catching on to her visits, finally starting to take them seriously and recognize the danger of them.
"No! You must keep coming!" Renesmee exclaimed. She was terrified of the fact that she might never see her mother again, and she knew she'd do anything to avoid that fate. She loved Jacob, and she loved Edward, but Bella was her mother. She wanted the unconditional love a mother can give to her child.
"If you really want to keep seeing me, then come with me," Bella suggested, holding out her hand and hoping that her young daughter would take it. A wave of uncertainty passed through Bella, an internal fear she had yet to take a hold of and defeat.
Renesmee hesitated for a moment, but then smiled up at her mother and took the waiting hand. "I'll go because then we can always be together." Renesmee held her mother's hand still as she leaned closer. She knew they must leave soon or it would be too late.
"Yes, always," Bella whispered as she pulled Renesmee into her arms. She took off running to get away from the clearing. She wanted to be as far as possible before Jacob realized Renesmee was missing as she knew the entire family would pursue them. Bella knew they had many problems to face in the near future, but she would make sure that being apart wasn't one of them.
