A young blonde haired girl hid in a corner seeing the amber glow of flames from next door, which was still glowing with the light rain happening and she hugging her knees close to her.

"No one is coming... I want mummy and daddy..." banging on the window causing the girl to curl up tighter "I want Chris" she whispered as tears fell from her eyes before she looked up to the window.

She looked to the bedroom door before deciding that she needed to find her parents, so she got to her feet, she could hear the strange groaning coming from outside and she let out a squeak of fright as she remembered the rules if she left the house on her own, which was to always write where she would be going. So she ran quickly to the fridge where the notepad was and one of the pens from the counter.

Police station.

The young girl wrote it out carefully before putting it on the fridge and just as she placed the notepad on the fridge there was a crashing sound and the young girl screamed before running to the front door and into the night.

Leon hadn't noticed it when he reunited with Claire, but now he saw that she had found a backpack and he wondered where she found and what she had in there.

"Where did you find that?" Leon asked pointing to the bag and Claire looked at him.

"Just in that office" Claire replied and Marvin looked up.

"I see you found Rita's backpack... did you find anything food or drink wise?" Marvin asked before Leon could and Claire smiled at them.

"Yep, as well as some extra bullets" Claire stated deciding to not tell Marvin just yet about the documents she found as she wanted to see what else she could find.

"That is good news, there are a few more vending machines around and seeing as I am most likely the last cop here in Raccoon City, break in to them all..." Leon went to speak "sorry to say Leon, but there were forms and a lot of things you needed before you can say you are a cop for Raccoon City" Marvin stated before he winced as he moved slightly, which caught Claire's attention and she looked at him with concern on her face.

"Marvin, are you alright?" Claire asked putting her mobile down next to her and Leon stayed standing.

"Don't worry, it is just a stab wound..." Marvin let out a small chuckle before wincing again "sure... getting it... it saved my life, but damn it is not at all fun getting stabbed in the side and I have nothing to wrap it up to slow down the bleeding" Marvin looked towards her and he caught Claire wince as she moved towards him "you shouldn't move with your being stuffed up" Marvin stated with the same concerned tone and Claire looked down to her ankle before looking back to him.

"I only got winded, my ankle will be fine in a bit, it was not the worst fall I had..." Claire paused before biting her bottom lip and then looking into Marvin's eyes "however... I think I might be able to help you with wrapping your wound..." Claire got to her feet with a small wince before she slowly got to her feet and Leon came her to help her "thanks Leon" Claire replied as Leon helped her over to the beds.

"You are welcome" Leon replied with a small blush as he watched Claire pick up a sheet.

"Seeing you are both worry warts, I promise you I will be fine and I can help Marvin with his wound..." Claire turned to Leon "could you please give me your shoulder again?" Claire asked and Leon nodded as Claire stood back up and the two came back over to the couches.

"Oh, I am such an idiot... I should have remembered that there were other ways to get bandages" Marvin stated running a hand down his face and Claire looked at him.

"It is alright, you are in pain and when you are in pain your mind does not always want to play nice and help you remember first aid" Claire replied and Marvin nodded in agreement.

"I did not even think of using the sheets for bandages" Marvin muttered quietly to himself as he watched Claire cut the sheet into a smaller piece.

"Who taught you that?" Leon asked curious and he sat down watching as Claire pulled out a knife from her boot.

"My adoptive father caught me everything I need to know to survive if I got lost in the near by woods" Claire stated as she began to slice the sheet up.

"Like first aid and hunting for food" Leon replied and Claire looked at him.

"Yes, but also about how to handle guns from cleaning them and shooting..." Claire had a small smile pausing in her slicing "he even taught me about the different myths of the world" Claire replied as she continued to sliced the sheets.

"He trained you well, you have an energy about you that screams deadly" Marvin stated and Claire looked at him before giggling.

"My adoptive cousins... if you would call them that have told me that before and they get into worst trouble than me, if you can believe that and I remember once when I was 9 or 10, my cousin Sam grabbed these large leaves to bandage Dean's ankle wound while they were out in a forest" Claire replied with a small smile as she continued to cut the sheet up and Marvin looked at her.

"Are you close with them?" Marvin asked with a small smile and Claire nodded.

"Yep, they became brother figures to me and took me under their wing, but also told me after I told them about the fight Chris and I, they would be happy to punch him for me" Claire stopped slicing and looked to Marvin "may I?" Marvin nodded with a grateful smile "please lift your shirt off to wound so I can give it a clean, well as clean as I get it" Claire stated and Marvin winced as he pulled the shirt up a bit and Claire grabbed one of the water bottles and poured a bit on the wound to clean away some of the blood.

"Could I ask why you have kept Redfield as your surname?" Leon asked watching as Claire began wrapping Marvin's wound.

"That is a bit of a story, but the short version is an old friend if you can call him a friend, told me not to take on my adoptive father's surname of Singer" Marvin looked up sharply "do you know of him?" Claire asked seeing Marvin's reaction.

"Yeah, I think I do... I knew of one man by the surname of Singer, what is your adoptive father's name and job?" Marvin asked and Claire looked at him in the eyes.

"His name is Bobby... well, full name is Robert Singer... but he prefers to be called Bobby and he runs a Salvage Yard..." Claire saw Marvin's eyes widen "so you met the grumpy old man..." Marvin nodded "once we have escaped could you tell me how you met the grumpy old man..." Marvin cut Claire off.

"It is not a good story" Marvin whispered and Claire looked at him sadly.

"Oh, it is one of those, I am sorry to hear, you don't have to tell me..." Claire looked down "and you are now sorted out, just try not to move too much till we have to get moving" Claire stated and Marvin nodded.

Leon had stayed quiet during the exchange and he did wonder why it was sad that Marvin met Claire's adoptive father.

"But you can tell me how he is going? Anything interesting popping up" Marvin asked and Claire looked briefly to Leon and Marvin gave her a look.

"I saw that, why did you give me that look?" Leon said looking at Claire and then to Marvin.

"With these events, I think you should inform Leon about that world" Marvin stated and Claire sighed.

"Leon, I promise I will tell you, but I really don't want to bring that into this whole situation" Claire stated and Leon tilted his head.

"She is right, we really do not need that here, let's escape and heck get to her adoptive father's place and we can tell you everything, hopefully it does not scare you off" Marvin stated and Leon sighed.

"Alright, I will keep from asking for now, but you will tell me once we are free from this city" Leon stated looking towards Claire who nodded.

"You have my word, but..." Marvin cut her off with a small glare.

"No Claire, no talk of you dying, you have been trained to survive and I will see it that you survive and return to Bobby" Marvin vowed and Claire looked at him.

"But..." Marvin and Leon went to talk "no, let's face reality, this whole place is fucked up and we have no idea if the escape is truly down there, what if the parking garage shutter is closed and the other doors blocked... we will need to return here and fight our way through that horde outside" Claire stated getting to her feet and looking at the two men.

"Your right, we need to be real here and make different plans if things do not work out" Marvin stated with a heavily sigh and Leon looked to the statue then back to the other.

"Well then, let's get a move on and get those remaining medallions and find a way out" Leon stated and the other two nodded in agreement.

"Marvin, is there any first aid kits around in lockers or somewhere else, cause they would be a massive help" Claire asked and Marvin nodded.

"Umbrella created some good medicines using different herbs that they found from someplace in deep the Amazon jungle, so throughout the station there are potted green herbs that can be helpful as well, but be wary of the red and blue looking plants, you have to mix them together or with a green herb to make those two safe to have as the red and blue herbs can cure most poisons and guard against poison for a time, I can not remember the full details, there should be a guide around somewhere that explains them" Marvin informed the two and Claire looked amazed.

"Thank you for telling us, I will keep a look out for them... quick question, when did these plants come into Raccoon City... they were not around that I saw when I came out from the orphanage" Claire replied with a tilt of her head and Marvin twitched his lip to the side.

"Maybe 4 years ago, could be 5 even" Marvin stated and Claire nodded her head in thanks.

"Can I ask a bit of a random question..." Claire raised an eyebrow at him "why do you keep your knife in your boot?" Leon asked with a curious tone and Claire got her feet with a wince.

"I had a pocket knife that was always on my belt or pocket, but the damn things kept falling from the pockets or be knocked off my belt, so I decided to get a boot knife with the holder..." the two men nodded in understanding "thank you Leon for bringing over my mobile, I am going to give Bobby a call" Claire stated as she picked up the mobile from the crate.

Leon saw Marvin's eyes close before he looked to Claire.

"Claire... I am sorry to inform you... but you won't be able to reach anyone... there has been a no signal since last night" Marvin told her with a pained expression on his face and Claire looked shocked.

"Seriously..." Marvin nodded "well, that just sucks ass..." Claire paused as a memory hit her.

Flashback

"You know I don't like that you are going there, I can no longer find it and my beacon on you is getting weaker" Trick stated with his voice now filled with worry.

End of flashback

"Damn it, so Trick won't be able to find me either if his beacon on me is weak or maybe it is off fully now being in Raccoon City" Claire thought to herself and then she looked at the two men.

"Are you alright Claire?" Leon asked concerned and Claire looked at him.

"Yeah, I am fine, but knowing Bobby, he will become more worried as time goes on... heck I bet even now he is trying to get through to the mobile" Claire sighed heavily before looking to the two men "well then, what can we do?" Claire asked and Marvin smiled at Leon.

"We find the remaining two statues to unlock this possible route and make as many plans as possible" Marvin stated and Claire nodded in agreement as Leon ran down to the front desk to get the map.

"Here is the map" Leon stated running back over to the other two.

"Damn, this is just this floor, well the Maiden statue is in the storage room on the third floor, you can get there via the library just avoid the hole..." Claire bit her lip "however there is a blockade with C4 on it, so Leon or I need to find the weapons locker keycard or find a detonator" Claire stated and Leon groaned.

"Damn not the best news, but what about the unicorn?" Leon asked looking between Marvin and Claire.

"There is good news on that one, The Unicorn statue is in the side room in the library... the door at the base of the stairs" Marvin stated and Leon nodded.

"I do have one more bit of news that is of the worrying nature..." Claire brought out the piece of paper about the licker "while walking towards the Operations Room, I found some strange claw marks on the walls and floor... I kept quiet in case whatever made them was close and I listened out for claw taps, hearing nothing I continued forward..." Claire brought out a note "I think this note explains those claw marks" Claire explained and handed the note to Marvin.

"Okay... so this night has become more dangerous... I want you both to be safe..." both nodded "Claire, was there anything else of interest around the West side?" Marvin asked and Claire nodded before pointing to the Operations Room.

"This door..." Claire circled the door "was chained up, I am hoping we can find some bolt cutters to see if there is anything locked up in that room, I did not want to rise shooting it after seeing those claw marks" Claire stated calmly and Marvin nodded with understanding.

"If I remember right, there might just be Detonator in there, but no battery for it" Marvin replied with a frown tying to remember and Claire raised an eyebrow.

"Why would the Detonator be in the room with no battery?" Claire asked with her tone curious and Marvin shrugged.

"Chief Irons, he put a lot of things in random boxes and then for some reason placed the boxes all around the station..." Marvin's eyes widen "just before all this started" Marvin replied shocked and Claire frowned not liking the sound of the chief.

"And that is the guy my brother looked up to?" Claire muttered to herself as she looked at the map.

"What else did you find in the West Side?" Leon asked curious and Claire pointed to the drinks and then pulled out some snacks.

"I know it is not a lot but hopefully I can find some more vending machines and maybe even a break room" Claire replied and Marvin looked sad.

"That officer with the notebook, Elliot Edwards, he was in this hallway..." Marvin tapped on the map "there is a break room there for those in the East side of the station, while West side had small cupboards as our break-room was getting redone from a darkroom" Marvin explained and Claire looked at the map where the stairs she went up were and saw there was darkroom written.

"Interesting, I did not really look into the West Office, I only found the backpack and this note..." Claire wanted to hit herself "which I just remembered also spoke of a way out plus I saw a puzzle for Leon to figure out" Claire stated with a smirk and Marvin laughed.

"Well, you can unlock the door with that key you found and Leon can find the surprise I hid within" Marvin stated with a grin and Leon pouted.

"I am not the biggest fan of puzzles" Leon replied causing both Marvin and Claire to laugh seeing his pout.

"Well, have fun with that, cause I love puzzles and that reminds me I found this, I am going to quickly see about opening it" Claire stated pulling a small box out of the bag and the two men raised their eyebrows at her.

(placeholder for picture on AO3)

There were different musical notes coming from the device and then Claire gave a small cheer as the box unlocked.

"You solved that fast" Leon commented impressed and Claire grinned at him.

"It was easy once you learn how to do it..." Claire pulled out a small cream part and her eyes widen "this goes to the terminal in the Safety Deposit Room, we can go and get some of the bullets in the lockers" Claire said jumping to her feet before she gave it to Leon.

"Why are you giving it to me?" Leon asked with a tilt of his head and she grinned at him.

"Cause you have your own puzzle to solve on that office..." Claire stated as she pulled out the key and went over to unlock the office.

"Also, Claire can go and unlock the door in the waiting room up there..." pointing just above and behind him "and start checking the floor for things and a way out... maybe even find exactly where the helicopter crashed" Marvin stated and Claire nodded in agreement.

"You can even look around the West area floors for anything that could be of use that I overlooked" Claire replied and Leon nodded in agreement.

"Alright, I will do so, but was there anything else that was of interest? Or even where the blockades were located?" Leon asked looking back to the map and Claire nodded.

"I went inside of the locker room there was blown out wall that was covered in hot steam and I think if we find the bolt cutters we might be will have another way to the S.T.A.R.S office just in case this door is blocked off" Claire replied tapping the location on the map.

"So then, that will be the next task, I am sorry that I can not be of help" Marvin stated which had both Claire and Leon look towards him.

"It is fine, you need to rest up and currently the main hall feels safe, but that could change before we can get out of here" Leon stated and Marvin nodded before looking at Claire.

"I just remembered that Rita told me that she thinks... thought the card was somewhere in the East Side... you might have some luck there... also Leon, in that office..." Marvin pointed to the door that Claire had unlocked "I hope you like the little puzzle my officers and I created for you, also in that room is a spare uniform that you can change into" Marvin explained and Leon looked happy.

"So we have a game plan to get out..." the two men nodded "Leon, you go and get anything you need, I will head over to the East Side and see about finding the keycard for the Weapons Locker... well, hopefully it is there or maybe finding some bolt cutters or find a grenade to throw at the C4 so we can get to the Maiden statue..." Claire looked to Marvin with a pout "also I had been wondering about that safe in the smaller office and what was in it?" Claire stated and Marvin gave a small chuckle seeing the pout.

"That is my office, the dial code for the safe is 9 15 7..." Leon nodded saying it over again in his head "and if you do happen across any codes, you are welcome to anything in the safes... Raccoon City has fallen and once we have a way out, I never want to think about this hellhole again" Marvin stated in a firm voice and the two nodded in agreement.

"So we split up once again and cover more ground" Claire told him and Leon bit his lip.

"I really do hate the idea of splitting up with everything that is going on, but it is for the best to cover more ground" Marvin stated with a look of concern and Claire looked at him.

"It is the best bet, plus I can see about seeing what is on the second floor of the East side..." looking to the door holding the key "while Leon goes and gets his gifts..." Claire looked at the two men as a thought popped into her mind "are there any radios around?" Claire asked and Marvin nodded.

"Front desk, far left cupboard, there is a small box with radios, we can use those to keep in contact..." the two nodded in agreement and Leon went down to grab them as Claire put the snacks and bottles of different drinks on the small table "you should take a drink at least" Marvin stated and Claire looked at him.

"I will be fine for a bit longer, hunting over the years have taught me many survival tips" Claire whispered and Marvin nodded in understanding.

"There are five radios in here, two of which look pretty beat up and another looks to need charging" Leon stated as he got to the other two and Claire looked to Marvin.

"Okay, that is fine, we can charge that third one, they don't need much time to fully charge..." Marvin paused as Leon handed the box to Marvin and he pulled out the radio that needed charging and headed back to the front desk while Marvin looked the ones that were pretty up before throwing them onto the other couch.

"Claire, you take one up with you so you can tell Marvin what you find, I will only remain in that office getting the gifts and looking through any drawers and cupboards" Leon stated and Claire looked to Marvin, who nodded in agreement,

"Good, please be careful and since reading that note about those... those Lickers, keep your footsteps quiet and your ears opened" the two nodded in agreement "Claire, when you return, I would like to ask you something regarding Bobby's friend Rufus" Marvin told her and Claire looked curious before she nodded and went upstairs as Leon entered the office.

Just as Claire reached the second floor and entered the room, curious as to what she will find in this new area.

A middle aged man with dark brown hair that went just above mid neck ran into a store shooting a zombie in the head.

"Damn you Brad" the man growled leaning on a counter looking at his wrist with despair.

"Daddy" a young voice called out from behind him and the man turned towards the voice.

"Emma, I need to you to be brave..." the man said walking over to a young girl with long light brown hair in a ponytail.

"I am brave daddy" Emma whispered as the man bent to his knees in front of her.

"Good girl, I need you to go and find either Mr Marvin or Miss Rita and stay with them..." the man told her and Emma took a step back.

"What about you daddy?" Emma whispered and the man felt tears form in his eyes.

"I am so sorry baby, but... this city has become dangerous and people are attacking others and I got attacked... I need you to be safe and away from me" the man told her and emma started crying before hugging her father.

"I-I-I don't..." Emma cried harder and the man rubbed her back.

"Hey listen to me, I promise you I will always be in your heart and I will be watching over you as will mummy..." the man paused before looking to the back of the store "let's pack a few things and then you run for Mr Marvin or Miss Rita, avoid the groaning people" the man stated and Emma hugged him tighter before letting go.

The two went into the back of the store, where their home was and the man grabbed a backpack and began to fill it with documents, some food, a small bottle of water and a few small items.

While Emma was collecting some extra clothes, Robert wrote a letter for Marvin or Rita telling them to get his daughter to safety and to tell her stories of him and his wife. He also put in the note if Marvin or Rita were not alive that whoever found his daughter to keep her safe and to raise her as their own.

"Mummy's locket" Emma whispered scaring the man from folding the letter and he turned to see Emma pointing to Elizabeth's locket and the man nodded, he grabbed the necklace and paused seeing his unbitten hand where his wedding ring was and he took it off.

"Always remember that mummy and I are watching over you, I love you so much Emma" the man whispered putting the necklace on his daughter and helping her get the backpack on.

"Daddy?" Emma whispered and the man hugged her.

"Live baby, now go please and keep yourself safe" the man pleaded and Emma nodded as tears fell from her eyes.

"I love you daddy" Emma told him before she turned and ran out of the store and towards the police station.

"Love you forever Emmie" the man whispered as he bowed his head tears falling from his eyes knowing he wouldn't see his little girl again.

Second floor, East side
Police station
Raccoon City,
Midwest America

11:51pm

Claire entered the small waiting room and looked around the room.

"This is actually cosy looking" Claire thought to herself as she stepped forward and frowned.

"But I do wonder what the purpose of this room was" Claire muttered to herself and began to check around the room, going around the desk and finding another safe that was under the desk and she pouted hoping to find the code and see what was inside.

Claire looked through the desk and found a guide book about the station and she read it wanting to know a bit more of the place she and the others were trapped in.

Welcome to Raccoon City!

Did you know: While we are the home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon city is a vibrant and dynamic city with a long, rich history of its own. In this guide, we'll introduce you to just a few of the more unusual points of interest our city has to offer.

Raccoon City Police Station

The building in the center of town wasn't always a police station—in fact, it used to be an art museum. Various features like the unusual clock tower and the goddess statue in the main hall remind us of a bygone era. It was given to the police force in 2004 as a gift by Umbrella.

Orphanage

Just a few blocks from the police station is an orphanage founded and run by the Umbrella Corporation with the help of generous donations from businesses and citizens alike. The building is known for its stained glass window, which attracts visitors from around the world.

"Well, I most certainly didn't get any visitors when I was at the damn orphanage" Claire muttered to herself seeing the small part about the orphanage.

Claire shook her head as the memories tried to re-enter he mind and she turned the page and her eyes widen.

Humans have used herbs to treat sickness and disease since the dawn of time. In this book, we will explore three such herbs native to the Arklay Mountains.

Green herbs have the ability to heal basic injuries, while blue herbs have long been used to treat poisoning.

As for red herbs, while they are visually appealing, they offer no medicinal benefits. Or so it was thought until recently.

It's well-known that combining herbs together produces blends that heighten the herbs' effects, but it has been discovered that red herbs can play a big role when mixed properly.

According to one doctor of Asian medicine, mixing blue and red herbs together produces a blend that will strengthen one's constitution.

Truly, we have only just begun to realize the full potential of these herbs and their ability to heal the human body. Further research is sure to yield more fascinating results.

"So Marvin wasn't lying about the plants lying around the place..." Claire looked over to the small table and spotted the herb "not that I thought he was... I will be keeping this with me, so I can refer back to it if I or the others need it... maybe even take some of the herbs to Bobby" Claire muttered to herself and went to put the book in her bag before she stopped and wanted to see what else might be within the book.

Flicking through the few pages that were laid out on the desk, she saw nothing else that could be helpful or even information about what happened after she left till she came to the final page and the information caught her interest.

The ruby that captivated Edward the Black Prince, the pearl that the queen of the Nile milked dry, the diamond that lead a queen to the guillotine—there is no end to the number of tales related to the appeal of jewels.

This mysterious red stone is simply the latest to sparkle among them.

Like those other jewels, this one's origin is unknown. It's said that it once adorned a noblewoman's jeweled box and was even dedicated to a wise king.

This fall, this stone that's long been shrouded in legend will be on display during auction. There are sure to be many eager enthusiasts there.

But, dear reader, one would do well to approach with care, for devilry lies in beauty's shadow. This jewel has turned caring nobles who love their subjects into despots more terrible than Caligula, and we have the tales to prove it. Seriously, it's precisely because these jewels are bathed in blood that their luster stirs something in the hearts of people everywhere.

"Hmmm... Why have I heard of this ruby before? And where did I hear about it?" Claire muttered tying to remember if Bobby or Daniel or Rufus spoke of the legend.

Claire placed the book into the bag and around the desk to the information rack and saw the same guide book that she found just before.

"Now forward" Claire stated stepping to the right and just as she was about to put the key in.

She decided to play it safe and listen for any groans or anything that sounded off and placed her ear to the door to find out if there were any zombies on the other side. She held her breath and closed her eyes to listen more carefully.

"Yep, zombies near by" Claire thought to herself as she released her breath and opened her eyes and then unlocked the door opening it up slightly to look into the hallway.

Claire looked to the left and saw no zombie and they to the right where she could see amber glowing in the reflections of the windows.

"Found the helicopter crash no doubt" Claire thought to herself and she opened the door fully and decided to lock it behind her in order to keep Marvin and Leon safe from any missed zombies or creatures.

Hopefully Claire can return to them via the shutter Leon had gone under and she looked to the left.

"Alright, Claire... nice and easy" Claire thought to herself as she walked to the end of the hallway where a door was.

Claire peered around the corner and frowned seeing that there was a metal shutter blocking the path and she shook her head and entered the room quietly. She saw it was mostly junk, but she spotted some papers on a small table in front of her and then she spotted the ruby to the right of her.

She went straight over to the statue to look at the ruby which was held in the a scepter and she frowned before she ducked under the arm to look behind and she was right there was a small trigger which she pushed and the ruby came free.

"I swear I know the legend that surrounds this damn thing..." Claire put at the bottom of the bag in order to give to either Trick or Bobby when she gets out of here "alright time to see what was on the table" Claire ducked back under the arm and walked over to the table.

Some of the documents were nothing special, there was an old article about Chief Brian Irons and she read it over.

Attention All Raccoon City Heroes!
Who's the most feared, yet respected man in town? The answer should be obvious to any resident of our fair city.
That's right! It's police chief Brian Irons: the man that scares the bejeezus out of criminals everywhere and stern father that loves every last one of us sinful citizens.

Chief Irons is known for his great charity work, including big contributions to the orphanage, support for abused women, art preservation, animal conservation–let us know if we've missed anything! Just when does our great hero sleep!? When asked, "The city is my extended family. I'm just doing what I'd do for my family," Chief Irons said with a soft smile.

"Hmm, something about this Chief Irons feels fishy and this is someone that Chris looked up..." Claire shook her head looking around the room "I really could be looking too much into with everything that happened tonight so far... but then again, where is he in all of this?" Claire looking back to the article before putting into her bag "I might have Trick look into this guy, if the man got out of Raccoon City" Claire muttered to herself as she headed back out of the door happy with the find of the Ruby and the old newsletter.

Just as she was about to leave she spotted a small card like thing on a shelf near the door and she walked over to it before grinning.

"Yes, the Weapons Keycard... now Leon and I can get the shotgun and grenade launcher" Claire muttered to herself before putting it in her back pocket.

Claire looked to the left and saw a zombie standing just near the window and Claire aimed her pistol and shot the head causing the zombie to drop, but another groan sounded near by and Claire decided to wait till see the next zombie before continuing forward. She did not have to wait long and she shot the zombie quickly.

There was no more groaning near by and Claire left the room stepping quietly towards the windows and peered around the corner and saw nothing in her way. Claire still kept her steps quiet in case there was a licker outside or even a damn creature that decided to have a feast on all the bodies.

"Damn ghouls would do it to" Claire muttered to herself as she reached the end and saw that the fire still going strong despite it raining outside before she shook her head remembering that there would be fuel and that could burn for ages.

Claire exited and groaned sounding like a zombie herself seeing the flames covering the tail as well which stopped her from heading down that way.

"Oh well, the fun way down" Claire said with a smile as she climbed the railings and looked down before taking a deep breath and jumped down.

She landed perfectly but the landing did flare her ankle up again and she took a few breaths to calm her mind so she could keep going forward. She got to feet after a five minutes of controlled breathing and she stood up and she grinned seeing that there were a paid of bolt cutters just next to a chained door.

"Another good find" Claire stated grabbing the bolt cutters and quickly cutting the chain.

She put her ear to the door and heard that there was some banging on something metal and she opened the door slightly to peer inside, she saw no zombie near by and she opened the door fully. The banging was coming from the right hand side and she went over to the open window part to look inside, she saw the officer that Leon tried to save as well as the banging on the metal shutter remembering what the map showed.

"Well that is bad luck, I was hoping that there was nothing there so Marvin, Leon and I could get to the parking garage" Claire muttered to herself and then went to the hallway.

She saw that in front of her was a chained door and to the right there was a hallway that had a decent amount of water on the floor and wondered where the water was coming from, she decided to use the bolt cutters on the door and clear out any zombies in the room before heading around the hallway to see if Leon found missed anything.

Claire cut the chain which dropped to the ground and she moved quickly and entered the room, shooting the zombie at the far side of the office where the doors were blocked by a chair that had a few boxes on it. The zombie fell to the floor and then she looked to the window, where a zombie was banging on the glass and she smirked and shot straight into the head and while the window was broken, the zombie had fallen in fully dead.

"Now time to look around" Claire stated and she walked over to the double doors and got the chair away to make another passage in case Marvin, Leon and her needed to get away from the Main Hall.

Claire then went out into the hallway, she found that the fuse box that control the shutter was missing one of the power fuses and she hoped that the fuse was around somewhere in the area. She walked down the hallway and after searching the small store room of which she found nothing of use. She entered the double doors and saw that there was a dead body near the small stage, but there was a mess of things all over the room.

"Damn" Claire muttered to herself and got to looking though the junk of papers and boxes.

Just as she reached the final shelf, she saw just on the floor near the blocked by boards and other things on the other side, her eyes widen and she bent down to pick it up.

"This is a pressure valve... hmm, this could be useful for the men's locker room where I could finally get to the S.T.A.R.S office" Claire muttered to herself and she held on to the valve as she checked the rest of the room and finding nothing else.

Claire left the room and just before she decided to go and check what exactly was flooding, she decided to go and put the valve handle with the rest of the things that she left on the desk before heading for the bathroom.

After opening the door to the bathroom, she found that it was toilet water that had been flooding the floor and she frowned before she shook her head and went inside. She found the toilet that was flooding and she went to look inside and her eyes widen in surprise.

"Seriously, who the fuck is messing with things around here making escape impossible" Claire muttered to herself seeing the other fuse that can open the shutter and she grabbed it.

The second that she pulled the fuse out the toilet drowned the over flowing water and she sighed in relief.

"Time to alert Marvin and Leon" Claire muttered as she exited the bathroom and ran for the office happy with the few items that she found.

Claire grabbed the radio and groaned seeing another zombie at the window, so she dealt with that one quickly and turned on the radio.

"Marvin, Leon, come in..." Claire spoke into the radio as she sat at a desk in the East Office looking at the items she found.

"Marvin here, what have you found over there?" Marvin answered and she smiled at hearing him,

"I am just updating you that I found some bolt cutters that can open the chained door in the Operations Room, I also found the Weapons Locker Keycard as well as a box of grenades that we can use to blow up the barrier to get the medallion from the Maiden Statue, also I found a valve for the men's locker room so we can check out the S.T.A.R.S office" Claire said with a smile now knowing she can find and get to her brother's desk and see if there was any keep stakes he kept in there, she wanted to gather them together so when she did find her brother she could return them to him.

"Claire, it might not be a good idea for us to go near the S.T.A.R.S office, Leon believes that there could be a licker in there, he heard claw like tapping on the wooden floor" Marvin alerted her and Claire's eyes widen before she slipped into Greek.

"ΚΑΤΑΛΑΜΕ ΑΥΤΗ ΤΗ ΓΑΜΗΜΕΝΗ ΠΟΛΗ! ΓΙΑΤΙ ΚΑΤΙ ΘΑ ΜΕ ΕΜΠΟΔΙΖΕΙ ΝΑ ΦΤΑΣΩ ΣΤΟ ΓΡΑΦΕΙΟ ΤΟΥ CHRIS... τουλάχιστον έχω βρει μερικές χειροβομβίδες και τυχόν λιγούρες θα ανατιναχτούν" Claire shouted slipping into Greek while kicking the nearest chair over unaware that she was still on the radio.

Claire kicked a few more chairs uncaring about the broken window where a zombie had come through and she took a deep breath before looking back to the radio.

"Okay, sorry about that... I am calm..." Claire took a deep breath "I am still going up there and I will arm myself with three of the grenades just to blow the licker or lickers up... that will make me feel better" Claire stated with a cheerful tone vowing to kill anything lurking up in that hallway.

"How are you going to get back here the shutter is closed seeing as the fuse is missing" Leon asked and Claire chuckled.

"That is another thing I found, but you will never guess where the damn thing was" Claire replied with a grin.

"Where?" Marvin asked and Claire looked at the fuse with a smile.

"It was in the bathroom, it was the thing that was causing the toilet to flood" Claire revealed and there was silence.

"Yuck" Leon simply said and Claire agreed.

"Leon, I will need your help to get the things I found to where we are set up, can you come to the shutter please?" Claire requested looking over to the broken window listening for any possible groaning coming near the window.

"Sure, cheers for letting us know" Leon replied into the radio and Claire smiled before turning the radio off.

"Leon would not survive being a hunter and chasing after skin-walkers or anything that likes the sewer" Claire muttered to herself as she gathered what she could and took it to the landing and putting the fuse in.

She went back to the office and grabbed the final things before she looked over to the window towards the smoke filled sky.

"Wherever you are Chris, I hope you are okay" Claire whispered before grabbing the final items and taking them out of the now opened shutter door with a grin on her face spotting Leon.

"You are disgusted by clean toilet water" Claire teased as she walked to the ramp as Leon stuck his tongue out.

"It looked dirty on the floor" Leon replied pouting as Claire walked came over to the couches and putting the items down.

"The rest of the stuff is on the landing just inside the hallway, there are no zombies around" Claire informed Leon, who nodded and went down to grab the rest of the items.

West Office
Police station
Raccoon City,
Midwest America
20th of December, 2009
11:50pm

Leon shone his torch to look around the dark room, he saw the sign 'WELCOME LEON' hanging from the ceiling and he felt sad that he would not see what the team would have done for a party. He walked down the few steps and started to look in the cabinets and cupboards in hopes of finding more things that could be helpful and sighed finding nothing of use.

He went over to the locked desk where there was a piece of paper and he chuckled before walking down the two rows of desks working out the puzzle. It took about 10 minutes for him to get the locks undone and he grabbed the muzzle for Matilda.

He walked over to a small cabinet where there was a box of tissues which he grabbed and went back over to the desk and got to work cleaning Matilda piece by piece. As Leon cleaned Matilda and getting her sorted to have a new muzzle, he thoughts turned to the past and he paused in his cleaning as his parents voices filled his mind.

Echos of the past

"It means that the world is an uncertain place, Evan"

"Freedom, your way out of here and from them... look I can give you a little bit of money and you can go wherever you want... the point is to go and be happy"

End of echoes of the past

Leon shook his head wanting to forget being Evan Patrick Buckley, he was Leon Scott Kennedy now and he wanted nothing to do with the Buckeys especially after Steve after out that they had hid the fact he was a savior siblings, but sadly his brother did not live long enough before Evan truly can do what he was born to do.

"Get out of that headspace, you need to survive the night" Leon muttered to himself going back to replacing the muzzle on Matilda.

Once that was done, he put the old muzzle in the bin as well as the tissues he used to clean out any dirt build up in the smallest gaps, once he was finished with Matilda, he got to his feet and walked over to the smaller office seeing the dead zombies that Claire shot.

"She is a good shot" Leon thought to himself as he entered the small office and looked around for the safe that Marvin mentioned.

He saw the safe in the corner and unlocked it to find a clean uniform as well as a small bullet bag that was too be attached at the belt.

Leon undressed from his bloodied clothes and put on everything before frowning at the shirt.

"Little tight with the shirt" Leon muttered as he finished up putting on the uniform and then looked at the bullet proof vest and put it on.

Leon adjusted it slightly feeling slightly off balance with the small added weight, however he was grateful to have it on feeling a tad more protected while trying to find a way out of this place. He headed out of the door and back to Marvin, who was still watching the different CCTV cameras and the man looked up.

"It suits you, shame you never truly got to wear out on patrol... anyway, here is the third radio all charged up, so why don't you go and get the medallion from the unicorn statue from the small room at the base of the stairs? Maybe Claire will have returned when you get back" Marvin stated and Leon looked at him.

"What are the symbols that I need to get the medallion?" Leon asked and Marvin opened the small notebook up.

"From the looks of it, you will need to put Fish, Scorpion, Jug" Marvin stated and Leon repeated it a few times before he nodded.

"I will return quickly, then hopefully we can work out a way to get the last one" Leon stated and Marvin nodded.

"Just keep your eyes and ears opened in case of that licker making an appearance" Marvin stated and Leon went up the stairs towards the library.

Leon ran up the stairs saying the code in his head as he entered the library carefully, he saw one zombie just to the right of him and he shot him in the head before he entered. He ran over to the door that led to the unicorn statue and entered carefully, he heard and saw nothing of zombie kind and ran over to the statue and entered the code.

"Cool, now one more to go" Leon stated and headed to go out before he paused hearing a strange sound coming from the other door and he walked carefully over to it.

Leon's eyes widen as he heard sharp sounding tapping on wood and he wondered if a licker was through this door, he backed up and went straight to Marvin to alert him about the possible Licker near by.

"Marvin, we might have an issue" Leon told him in a hurried tone as he exited the library and went straight to the stairs.

"What issue?" Marvin replied as Leon ran down the stairs.

"Possible Licker in the hallway beyond the second door of that lounge area" Leon replied and Marvin's eyes widen and he pulled the ma over.

"That hallway leads us to the S.T.A.R.S office..." Leon placed the new medallion into the statue "hopefully we truly do not need to go down there" Marvin stated as Leon sat back down on the couch.

"Marvin, Leon come in..." Claire's voice came from the radio and the two men gave a sigh of relief as Marvin reached over with a small wince to grab the radio.

"Marvin here, what have you found over there?" Leon grabbed the maps to find where Claire was.

"I am just updating you that I found some bolt cutters that can open the chained door in the Operations Room, I also found the Weapons Locker Keycard as well as a box of grenades that we can use to blow up the barrier to get the medallion from the Maiden Statue, also I found a valve for the men's locker room so we can check out the S.T.A.R.S office" Claire said and the two men looked up sharply.

"Claire, it might not be a good idea for us to go near the S.T.A.R.S office, Leon believes that there could be a licker in there, he heard claw like tapping on the wooden floor" Marvin informed Claire and there was silence before a strange language came from Claire's side as well as crashing sounds.

"Yikes, that news really made her mad, was it a good idea to tell her?" Leon muttered and Marvin nodded his head.

"She needed to know, I have a feeling she might still go up there to see if Chris had any keep stakes remaining in his desk" Marvin replied and Leon winced thinking the same.

"Do you know what language she was speaking?" Leon asked still hearing the crashes over the radio and Marvin shook his head not knowing.

"We can ask her when she returns back here" Marvin replied as the crashes cool down and Leon nodded in agreement.

"Okay, sorry about that... I am calm..." Claire took a deep breath "I am still going up there and I will arm myself with three of the grenades just to blow the licker or lickers up... that will make me feel better" Claire stated with a cheerful tone which scared Leon slightly.

"How are you going to get back here the shutter is closed seeing as the fuse is missing" Leon asked looking over to the shutter as Claire chuckled over the radio.

"That is another thing I found, but you will never guess where the damn thing was" Claire replied and Leon frowned thinking that he checked everywhere.

"Where?" Marvin asked before Leon could and Claire looked at the fuse.

"It was in the bathroom..." Leon looked disgusted at the thought "it was the thing that was causing the toilet to flood" Claire revealed and Leon began wiping his hands on his uniform.

"Yuck" Leon simply said into the radio and Marvin nodded in agreement.

"Leon, I will need your help to get the things I found to where we are set up, can you come to the shutter please?" Claire asked and Marvin pouted slightly knowing he could not do too much with his stab wound.

"Sure, cheers for letting us know" Leon replied into the radio before the thing went quiet.

"She really checked everywhere, when she tells you what she truly does you would be amazed at what things she and others can get into" Marvin replied and Leon raised an eyebrow.

"And you are sure she will tell me" Leon asked with an unsure tone as an image of his mentor telling him about what his parents did and how he came to be born.

The metal shutter began opening and Marvin looked at him in the eyes.

"I know she will, after everything here she will no doubt take you to Bobby" Marvin stated calmly as Claire came out from the still rising shutter.

"You are disgusted by clean toilet water" Claire teased as she walked up the ramp as Leon pouted at her.

"It looked dirty on the floor" he replied with a pout as Claire raised an eyebrow at him.

"The rest of the stuff is on the landing just inside the hallway, there are no zombies around" Claire informed him and Leon nodded and went to grab the rest of the things that Claire found.

Leon grab the boxes of grenades and went back to Claire and Marvin.

"I am still going up there, I will take my bag with me and while I am in the office..." Claire turned to Leon as he put the box down "Leon, could you go and use a grenade on the blockade that is blocking us from getting the medallion from the Maiden statue" Claire told him and Leon raised an eyebrow before he nodded.

"Sure, but please be safe up there... there could be an just a licker" Leon pleaded and Claire looked at him with a soft look.

"I promise I will be fine, you could also go and check the chained door in the operations room and see if there is anything of interest or help in there" Claire replied and Leon nodded looking to the bolt cutters.

Claire grabbed three grenades, some extra bullets and headed over to the West Office entering the room without another word.

"She will be fine, Leon... you should head and check out the operations room before getting the statue just so we know we have missed nothing that could help us in the escape" Marvin replied and Leon nodded.

Leon grabbed two grenades, some bullets and the bolt cutters and headed off for the chained room and then he would head up and get the medallion from the Maiden statue.

Streets
Raccoon City, Midwest America
21st of December, 2009
12:15am

Chris hit the brakes hard as the border of Raccoon City came into view, the three looked shocked seeing the blockade but also seeing bodies on the ground and other bodies walking slow.

"No... no..." Jill whispered shaking her head seeing that and Chris started hitting the steering wheel.

"We should have stayed... fuck, we should have hidden out in one of the bunkers the Kendo brothers created" Chris yelled hitting the steering wheel and Jill placed a hand on his arm.

"Chris, we need to go and get Sherry and then just get the fuck out of here" Jill stated and Chris took a few breaths before letting his head fall to the wheel.

"My mind is going places I do not want to go" Chris whispered and Jill looked to Carlos with despair.

"Tell us and we will work through it together" Carlos said calmly and Chris took another deep breath.

"I need to find Sherry, William and Annette" Chris replied looking to Carlos and the other man nodded.

"Alright, so first step where do we need to go?" Jill asked seeing where Carlos mind was going and knowing it could help Chris calm his mind.

"The house, they all should be there and they could be in the basement" Chris answered and he took a deep breath.

"How far is it to the house?" Carlos asked having never been to the Birkin house before.

"From here about a 15 minute walk, but if we run 5 minutes... the house is just over there" Chris stated pointing to the right where a row of houses were either on fire or dark.

"Okay then, let's go and get the Birkins and get out of here" Carlos stated and the other two nodded.

The three got out of the car and got their pistols ready, they began to shoot at the groaning zombies and then they were running for the Birkin house. Just as Chris told them it was a five minute run and the three paused as horror filled them seeing the front door wide open and three zombies around.

Each of them got shot a zombie before entering the home and looked around the kitchen entry point.

"I am going to go and check the basement, Carlos can you look around here and Jill could you go upstairs and check the rooms" Chris asked and the other two nodded.

Chris went downstairs to the basement and saw no one around, he bit his lip wondering where the Birkins could be.

"CHRIS! UP HERE IN THE KITCHEN!" Carlos yelled out and Chris ran upstairs just as Jill came down shaking her head.

"No one was up there" Jill told Chris as the two reached Carlos.

"Here I found this on the fridge" Carlos stated handling over a notepad.

"This is Sherry's handwriting, fuck, she is out there alone" Chris growled kicking a chair over.

"We will find her, what is the route she most likely would have taken to get to the station" Jill asked and Chris sat down in another chair with a frown.

"I am not sure and I really do not want us to split up out there, in here it is find we are close by each other where we can reach other faster, but out there it will be impossible to get to reach other" Chris stated and Jill nodded in agreement.

"Then, let's just head the best route to get to the station and hope Sherry got there, what way do we need to go?" Carlos stated crossing his arms and Jill smiled gratefully to him for keeping a cool head in all of this.

"We can go through the alley behind Robert Kendo's store, heck even check to see if he is alive and try to get him and Emma out of this hell hole of a city" Chris stated and Jill nodded wanting to check on Robert and Emma Kendo as well.

"Let's go then" Jill stated and the two men nodded.

The three ran from Kendo's gun store, killing zombies in their path and climbing anything that blocked their path to the alley. The three ran through the streets and alley ways for 15 minutes till they finally arrived at Kendo's Gun store, they shot the zombies that were near by and then entered the store.

"Bloody hell, what the hell happened here?" Carlos whispered bending down to look at an empty box of pistol bullets.

"DON'T MOVE!" Carlos jumped up to his feet and pointed his pistol to a man holding a shot gun "Chris... Jill... and who is this?" Carlos watched as his girlfriend and best friend hugged the man "what the hell are you doing back here?" the man asked as the two let him go.

"Robert this is Carlos, he is my partner... he saved Barry, Chris, Rebecca and I up at the mansion" Jill told him and Robert shook Carlos's hand.

"Thank you for saving my friends, shame you saved Brad Vickets" Robert stated and Jill frowned at him,

"Why?" Jill asked with a head tilt and Robert sighed heavily before showing them his wrist.

"Brad Vickers bit me when I went to help out some others, but sadly they got bitten and I made the rush to get back to Emma" Robert explained and Chris started pacing before he yelled out.

"Damn it" Chris yelled kicking a bucket over and Robert ran over to him and placed his unbitten hand on Chris's shoulder.

"I shot Brad, but I am unsure if he went back and I know he was around the front of the police station, nowhere near the parking garage... you did not answer my question, why are you back here in Raccoon?" Robert told him and Chris sighed with relief.

"I had a bad feeling and I wanted to come back and check on the Birkins... have you seen them, Robert?" Chris explained and Robert shook his head.

"No, I haven't but... but I need to tell you I sent Emma to the police station, she would have entered from the parking garage" Robert replied and Jill looked at him.

"Is the parking garage open?" Jill asked and Robert frowned before his eyes widen.

"Oh god, I did not check... oh god I sent Emma into more danger if the shutter is not opened" Robert whispered feeling his heart race for his only daughter and Carlos walked over.

"Where is the garage from here? I can go and check" Carlos offered and Robert nodded grateful to him.

"It is just over there, follow the wall to the right and you will see it" Robert replied and Carlos nodded and ran out of the store.

The three remained quiet as Chris began pacing and just then Carlos returned.

"The shutter door is not opened" Chris kicked the bucket again making the metal bucket crash along the floor "I saw no zombies around, but I am not sure which way Emma would have gone to get inside" Carlos replied and Robert sat down biting his lip.

"I need to ask a favour of one of you" Robert took a deep breath "you know I won't make it out of the damn city, I already feel weaker than before, so I want one of you to shoot me" Robert stated and Jill gasped as Chris bowed his head.

"I will do it" Chris stated and Robert nodded his head gratefully.

"Thank you Chris" Robert whispered and Chris pulled his pistol out as Carlos hugged Jill close to him.

"You were a good friend to us, Robert Kendo" Chris whispered and Robert looked into Chris's eyes and Chris pulled the trigger and Robert's body dropped to the ground.

"He did not want to become one of those monsters" Carlos whispered and Chris looked to him.

"I want one of you to do the same if I get bitten" Chris replied and Jill nodded.

"Let's... let's go and get the girls and then out of the city" Jill told him and Chris took a breath before he nodded.

"We can grieve for him and everyone else once we get out of this hellhole of a city" Chris stated and the other two nodded.

The trio left the store hoping that they could find Emma and Sherry before anything happens to them or themselves.

Men's Lockerroom
Police Station
Raccoon City, Midwest America
21st of December, 2009
12:20am

Claire got up to the locker room is no time and placed the valve on, so she could turn off the boiling steam so she could go through and find anything in her brother's desk or the desks of other members.

"Alright, let's see if Leon was right about the licker" Claire muttered to herself as she stepped quietly into the shower room and towards what looked like a laundry room, where there was a slumped body on the bench seat.

Claire shot at the head which caused the body to fall to the ground.

"Well, at least that one was dead" Claire muttered and she spotted some lockers and decided to look and see if there were any bullets or extra grenades.

Claire pouted seeing nothing that could be helpful and she wondered if someone emptied the lockers.

"Oh, whoever messed with the escape routes and weapons is so getting shot" Claire muttered to herself and she walked over to the door that led to the S.T.A.R.S office and the possible licker in her way.

She took a deep breath and opened the door slightly, she did not have to wait long to hear the claw taps and she opened it a bit wider remembering the licker was blind so she could see exactly where it was.

"Seriously, right in front of the S.T.A.R.S office" Claire thought herself before she grabbed one of the grenades and quickly threw it and closed the door.

BANG! BANG!

"Guess..."

BANG!

"Hope Leon is alright" Claire thought to herself before hearing the licker in the hallway getting up and she threw another grenade into the room.

BANG!

Claire waited a few seconds and opened the door to see if the second grenade killed the licker.

"Suck it" Claire muttered seeing the licker dead a lot closer to the door than it had been and Claire grinned seeing that it was covered in burns.

Claire walked down to the S.T.A.R.S Office kicking the corpse on the licker as she passed it, once she entered the office she tilted her head. To her left was a smaller office that had a small name plate on the window Captain Albert Wesker and she decided to head in and see if there was anything of interest in the captain's office.

She looked through the desk and found nothing which was slightly curious that there were no reports or anything. Claire shook her head before leaving the office and headed over to the desks in the middle of the room.

She did notice a cage to the left of her and decided to leave that for last wanting to get any and all documents that mentioned what happened to the city and the events leading up her being here.

"Now let's see if there are any reports about about what happened to Chris and his team or maybe how this mess all started" Claire muttered to herself looking through the different desks.

She found a Barry Burton desk and saw that he had some documents and she grabbed them to read them.

"Oh my god, this... this is worst than what I thought of..." Claire whispered reading Barry's report on what happened and she prayed that Chris was alright.

My name is Barry Burton, I am part of the reserves for the Air Force and now former member of the Special Tactics and Rescue Service better know as S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team with Christopher Redfield, Jill Valentine, Joseph Frost, Brad Vickers and our captain Albert Wesker.

Back on the 24th of September, 2009, my team and I were sent out to find where Bravo Team went as they had not reported back to us. Sadly we found their downed helicopter up in the forest on Arklay Mountain, all but one were dead killed by the undead dogs (zombie... I can not believe I am writing that).

Joseph Frost was killed by the undead dogs, while Brad Vickers fly away from the scene. As the night went on, it was discovered that Albert Wesker was a mole sent into the team by Umbrella and both teams of S.T.A.R.S were sent to the mountain in order to get killed by bio-weapons as apparently the teams were not to be in service as long as we were.

Christopher Redfield, Jill Valentine, Rebecca Chambers and I were rescued by Brad Vickers who had been forced by a man named Carlos Oliveira.

"Bloody hell... Leon, Marvin and I have to watch out for zombie dogs as well..." Claire sat down at the desk "no, while this is just bad... the hunting world is a whole lot worst... these zombies can go down with a bullet to the head or grenade... the hunting world you have just so much and then study the different lore of creatures" Claire muttered to herself and she slipped the file inside.

Claire pulled the other file toward her and scanned it quickly.

"This is from a sewer worker... it is about Chief Irons and William Birkin" Claire quickly read over the report.

June 28th
It's been a while, but I saw Don today and we talked after completing our work. He told me he had been sick in bed until yesterday.
It really doesn't come as much of a surprise given how long he's been working here.
He was sweating like a horse and kept scratching his body while we were talking. I asked if he was hot, but he just looked at me funny.
What's wrong with him anyway?

July 7th
Chief Irons has been visiting the lab quite often lately. I don't know what he's doing over there but he always looks grim.
The expression on his face has been even more unsettling than usual...
My guess is that it's because of Dr. Birkin's impossible requests. The chief has my sympathies though. After all he's done for the town, he doesn't deserve this.

July 21st
I rarely drink because I'm on the graveyard shift, but I don't suppose I have much to complain about it since this is how I make my living.

August 16th
Chief Irons came in late today, looking grimmer than his usual self. I tried to joke with him to cheer him up but he wasn't amused. He pulled his gun and threatened to shoot me! I was able to calm him down, but that guy must have some serious problems. He knows he can't enter the lab without my help and my medal.
This is what it means for the chief "to serve and protect"!?

August 21st
William informed me that the police and media have begun their investigation on Umbrella's affairs. He said that the investigation will be citywide and that there is a possibility they'll even search through the sewers. He asked me to suspend all Umbrella sewer facility operations until the investigation has concluded. The sewer will still be used for passage, but he stressed that I have to be extremely cautious and that I'd lose my job if anyone finds out about this operation.

"And this is who Chris looks up to, this is just plain out shady and I knew not to trust William Birkin" Claire looked to the desk and gave a small pray of peace for the dead in the city.

Claire's thoughts flashed briefly to her adoptive brothers and she frowned thinking of their antics with the angels and demons.

"I hope Dean and Sam are alright" Claire thought to herself and she got to her feet and walked over to another desk.

Claire moved to the next desk, where she moved a few items around, then checking the drawers. In the drawer, she found a wooden box, which she took out and then she spotted a small journal that had Jill Valentine written on the cover and she wondered why the journal was hidden and slightly trapped under the box.

"October 9th
Two weeks have passed since that day. My wounds have been healed, but I just can't forget it. For most people, it's history now. But for me, whenever I close my eyes, it all comes back clearly. Zombies eating people's flesh and the screams of my teammates dying. No, the wounds in my heart are not healed yet...

October 17th
Chris has been causing a lot of trouble recently. What's with him? He seldom talks to the other police members and is constantly irritated. The other day, he nearly punched Jonathan from the forensic department just for accidentally splashing Chris's face with coffee. I immediately stopped Chris, but when he saw me he just gave me a wink and walked away. The man has truly been in a strange mood lately.

October 21st
Midnight. Chris, who has been on a leave of absence for a "vacation," called me that he needed to see me, so I headed over to his apartment. As soon as I walked into his room, he showed me a three emails that he got from an old friend of his that hacked into an ex-Umbrella scientist. They were part of a virus research report entitled as simply as "G". Then Chris told me that, "The nightmare still continues on" He went on to say that, "It's not over yet" Ever since that day, he has been fighting all by himself without rest, without even telling me or even talking to Barry, who he has known a lot longer than knowing me.

October 24th
Carlos called me up and asked me out on a date. Which happened last night, but it was also a cover to tell me more of what he knows about Umbrella and I am horrified that happened to his family. I have decided to help him find what happened to his parents and his own little sister, who he called his little star girl cause she loved the stars and the myths behind them. Carlos had taken his father's grandfather's name and mother's mother's surname in order to hide who he truly was.

October 29th
Barry has moved his family to Canada, so they would be safe from Umbrella and then decided to chase a lead somewhere in Europe with Rebecca. Chris, Carlos and I have decided to head to the State of New York, we found tales of a hidden bunker that could holder further clues to Umbrella's silent partners. I hope to never to Raccoon City, but I might have to... mainly to finish the job of uncovering Umbrella's secrets and stop them before they heard more people.

"God, I feel for her and I do wonder what this Carlos told her that horrified her" Claire muttered to herself and she looked to the box

Claire shot at the box which broke the lock and within she found a stunning looking gun that looked like a normal hand gun to her. However she saw that it was slightly modified, she opened the magazine department and saw that the gun held heavy duty magnum bullets and her widen in surprise.

"This could be helpful in the long run and I know Rufus would like to see this gun, heck even Bobby would like it" Claire muttered to herself putting the gun into the pack and heading over to the final desk which was her brother's.

Claire found a few documents that got her interest and read them over.

Mr. Irons has allegedly received a large sum of funds in bribes from Umbrella Inc. over the last five years. He was apparently involved in the cover up of the mansion lab case along with several other incidents in which Umbrella appears to have direct involvement.
Mr. Irons had been arrested under suspicion of rape on two separate counts during his years as a university student. He underwent psychiatric evaluation as a result of the charges but was released due to circumstantial evidence as well as his phenomenal academic standing.

As such, extreme caution is advised when dealing with him.

"Bloody hell, so I can kill the bastard if I see him... good to know" Claire muttered to herself reading the report and looking to the last few pages on Chris's desk.

October 8th
I talked to the chief today once again, but he refused to listen to me. I know for certain that Umbrella conducted T-virus research in that mansion.
Anyone infected turns into a zombie.
But the entire mansion went up in that explosion; along with any incriminating evidence. Since Umbrella employs so many people in this town, no one is willing to talk about the incident.
It looks like I'm running out of options.

October 17th
We've been receiving a lot of local reports about strange monsters appearing at random throughout the city. This must be the work of Umbrella.

October 21st
With the help of Jill and Barry, I finally obtained information vital to this case. Umbrella has begun research on the new G-virus, a variation of the original T-virus. Haven't they done enough damage already?!
Barry has mentioned to me that he worries about the what if Umbrella seeks out Claire, to see if she knows anything about what I or the others are doing. Barry knows that I have not seen my sister in 4 years, I do miss her, but I can not put her in this mess. I told Barry only to contact Claire if I die, but nothing about Umbrella or Irons.
I did also tell him that I doubt Claire would even care if I died.

"You utter bastard Chris, of course I would care about you, oh... you are so getting punched" Claire growled as she finished reading her brother's journal and putting the pages into her bag.

There was one more document and it caught her interest.

It's already been two months since that mess with Umbrella and the mansion. Thanks to the suspension, investigations into Umbrella and their partners sadly haven't progressed exactly as I'd hoped. Perhaps with this written record of what Chris, Barry, Rebecca and I found will prove to be my final duty as a S.T.A.R.S. officer... I can only hope that it helps lead to the truth.

We were lucky that Brad Vickers returned to save us, well he was forced by an ex member the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service by the name of Carlos Oliveira, who was actually undercover at Umbrella looking into their past... however, he was horrified at what the company had done. He has joined us in uncovering more about Umbrella and any partners they have.

Below is what we have found out currently:

The T-Virus

Those infected by this virus seem to become literal zombies. It appears to be communicable via several different avenues, outlined below: Bite from an infected individual, allowing the mixing of bodily fluids Contact with crows which have eaten infected carrion Due to the strength of the virus, airborne infection cannot be discounted

It should be noted that those who survived the incident have not yet developed symptoms.

It's unclear whether this is because the virus has a long incubation period, or because we just happened to be resistant to the infection. We ought to remain vigilant, even after this investigation period ends.

As for me—aside from my minor difficulties sleeping—I seem to be in fine shape. Still, I shouldn't get too hopeful. After all, this could just be an extended incubation.

"So all these zombies are affected by this T-Virius... but still does not explain the licker" Claire muttered to herself and she put the file in her bag.

Claire got to her feet with a sigh, she had been hoping to find more on what happened to her brother and his team, but there was hardly anything that could tell Claire more of what happened.

She left the office heading for the door that led into the library and her thoughts wished that Trick was here to bring his just deserts to the bastards at Umbrella.

Elsewhere

A man with honey blonde hair and golden amber eyes sat with a glass of dark amber liquid watching with a glare towards a man flirt with a young teen girl, but his thoughts were not fully paying attention to the two, but on two different things.

"Claire, I really hope you are alright in that strange blocked city" the man thought to himself before his thoughts turned to another and just thinking of it hurt him deeply.

He shook his head wanting to take the hurt and worry from his mind before he looked back to the horrible teacher that had been luring young women and raping them.

"I have just the punishment for him" the man muttered as he drowned the liquid and clicked his fingers cursing the man and he waited for the show.

Claire entered the main hall and saw that the statue passage was now opened.

"Oh, seeing that open makes me seriously happy..." Claire headed for the stairs "great work Leon" Claire stated as she came down the stairs and Leon looked at her.

"I met licker after the blockade was blown up, I was happy that I brought another grenade with me cause that worked well in killing the creepy creature, how many were in that hallway?" Leon replied as Claire reached the couches.

"Yeah, they are creepy and disgusting looking and there was only one in the hallway" Claire replied and both men gave sighs of relief.

However, before Claire could tell the men about some of the information she had found, something pulled her as a silver barrier stopped the men from getting to her and she was pulled into the escape route.

Silver - Please let me know what you all think and there are some big reveals coming in the next few chapters. Also the Tyrant will be making his appearance, don't forget I am having two of them and it will only be one that makes an appearance while the other will be elsewhere. That ruby will be needed for future events in the story, answers about not for a bit. Final note, yes I will be making Leon be Evan Buckley and next chapter or the one after will reveal a bit more about his mentor.

Loki - Silver has told me the plans and I am surprised that they make sense, I know she can pull them off and I am looking forward to seeing everything come together.

CAUSE THERE WOULD BE SOMETHING STOPPING ME FROM GETTING TO CHRIS'S DESK... at least I have found some grenades and any lickers will be blown up)
