To fans of Sky Dancer\Tangled Web,
This is an update that is long overdue; it's coming after I'd given a lot of thought to where I stand as a fanfiction writer.
For the past three to four years, my New Year's resolution has consistently been to finish one or both of the primary fanfiction stories I've written. Each year has seen me failing to do so; I feel that 2024 should be the last time I make such a resolution.
As disappointed as I am in my inability to finish what I started in either 2007 or 2014, I can't seem to find much motivation to write, even if feel like I'm letting down the fanbase of whichever story. I work full time and I more often than not get distracted by something at home.
Around this time last year, I thought about doing extensive rewrites of Sky Dancer and Tangled Web (and Starxis, even though that one actually has an ending). While I have revised the prologue and two and a half chapters of Tangled Web, I wanted to wait until I got further into it before I posted anything. But even that has hit a standstill.
I would love more than anything to say I could keep going, but I have to be realistic. I don't think I have the same drive I once did.
The one definite here is that Unexpected Allies and Devil to Watch Over Me will be taken down by the end of February since neither is likely to get an update anytime soon.
In the meantime, I offer a choice to whomever reads on what they'd like to see happen. Whether wou'd like to wait for a rewritten story and\or ending, or you'd be happy with a synopsis of the intended outcome, please let me know in a poll on my profile page. Majority vote will determine what happens with my unfinished works at the end of June.
