Chapter 2: Welcome, New Player
Part 2: Tutorial
Waking up screaming, Romeo finds himself in his bed. It was night outside.
"What's going on? Are you ok Romeo?" Macao runs in, hearing his son screams.
Panting a little, Romeo calm down after taking in his surroundings.
"I'm fine. Just a bad dream."He answers, then looks at his dad. "What happened?"
"Well, after you ran off earlier today, everyone went searching for you. We found you sleeping on an empty field outside the city and I brought you home." Macao answered.
"Thanks dad. Sorry for making everyone worry." Romeo looks down.
"It's alright." Macao sit down and comforts him. "I know that things are hard right now. But if everything goes right, it should get better soon."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, after you left, Blue Pegasus visited and informed us that they found signs of Tenrou island still exist." Macao explained optimistically.
Romeo is shocked, lost for words.
"I know it's a lot." Macao gets up and smiles. "But things are looking up for us."
Just as he's about to leave the room.
"Dad." Romeo calls. "You don't see this?"
"See what?" Macao confused.
"... Never mind. Maybe my mind is still foggy." Romeo replied. "Good night dad."
"Good night son." Macao closed the door.
In front of Romeo is a hologram image of a close envelope that's vibrating.
"So only I can see you." He deduced. "Open"
Hello
You have been invited to join the game as a new player. Would you like to accept the invitation?yes/no
"Yes"
Wonderful. Welcome to the game Romeo Conbolt.
You have a message, would you like to view it?yes/no
"Yes"
Playing the message(only you can see or hear the message!)
A screen appears playing a video recording of Bladewolfe
"Hey gloomy boy(Bladewolfe cheers). Just pop in to check if you're logged in or not. If you're seeing this then congratulations, I'm sure you can figure out how this thing works. Anyway just to let you know that I add in a little restriction regarding sharing information. I know I told you this before but I need to take extra measures since this could be trace back to me and I really don't want the attention. Anyway I won't be interacting with you anymore so this will be the last time you see me. I know you're sad but I have a thing going on you know. But I'll be keeping an eye on your journey so take solace in the fact that even though you can't see me I'll still watch over you, doing nothing if I find you in a tough spot. Have fun. Peace."
Message end.
Romeo sigh, rubbing his forehead. Bladewolfe is helping him right now and he is grateful but that doesn't change the fact that he could be too much at times. Ignoring that though, Romeo looks back at the screen.
Would you like to view your stats?yes/no
"Yes" This time mentally.

Burdens:
Burden of secrecy: you cannot reveal your power as well as Bladewolfe's existence to anyone. This will also prevent anyone from extracting this information.
Current objectives:
Reach level 1: Get all your main stats to 20. Rewards: unlock all currently locked categories.
Optional quests:
Daily training(this will reset by midnight):
-100 push up(0/100)
-100 sits up(0/100)
-Run 10 km(0/10)
Rewards: 3 stats points and 1000 jewels.
Mentally swiping the screen away, Romeo thought over what he just learned.
"So this power is an rpg based power. Level 0 huh. That's must be the set back Bladewolfe talked about. It seems the only thing I could do right now is daily training to increase stats. Not sure how luck and charm connect to instincts but I'm not gonna questions it. Also the burden is the only thing unlocked? That's just annoying. Well since I can't sleep now and it's only 10pm, might as well complete the round of training for today."
11:30pm
Would you like to accept your reward?
"Yes" Romeo pant.
Romeo just finished climbing back to his room without his father noticed. He's currently dying, trying to get as much air in his body as possible. But he managed to complete the quest. During his trip he also learned how to better manage the menu screen. Now he can pop up specific categories without everything getting in his field of vision.
You've gained 3 stats points and 1000 jewels. How would you like to distribute the points?
"Add one to strength, intelligence and instinct."
Romeo mentally swipe up the mentioned categories.

It seems that adding points to the main stats also increases the sub-stats though the amount it increases seems to be random, which Romeo finds to be annoying. But he can't be too mad with the results since he can feel himself getting stronger and his exhaustion from the work out already reduced. Feeling happy with himself, he swiped the screen away and go to sleep, waking up pretty late the next day.
Author's note
The grind begins.
Just a heads up after the Grand Magic Game this story is gonna diverge completely from the main canon. Hell the game itself will be nothing like the main series.
Also Greg27 I'm glad you enjoyed this story. I hope you enjoy my other work too and I'll keep writing this story as best I can. Side note I can't help but imagine how the godly characters from your story like react to my character Bladewolfe since he's practically an insult to their beliefs(except Magi). It would be hilarious since Bladewolfe would throw that fact at their face constantly and Magi would just add fuel to the fire, enjoying the show.
