Chapter 1: Kurt's past
Lima, Ohio, 8:00.
Like every morning, Kurt would come out of his house with his shoulder bag on his shoulder. He took a great breath and detected different smells that were mixed.
And yes, Kurt is a werewolf, an Alpha. So he is able to detect odors far too complex for humans. It's one of his favorite rituals. By doing this, he can ensure that there is no danger and that he can start his day quietly.
However, today he was a little more suspicious than usual. His instinct never deceives him when he feels something is wrong. Then he decided to go into the forest, where there were always careless people who were lost or hunters who tried to find his pack, in vain.
He barely had time to pass the alley that leads to his house and saw a large dark grey wolf with golden eyes stop in front of him. It was Blaine, his Beta. He bit him almost a year ago and took a long time to teach him everything he needs to know about this new life. He did it for the rest of his pack, because it is very dangerous to leave werewolves barely bitten without any training.
Kurt also saw Finn leaving the house. Finn saw directly his worried look. He is one of the Omega members of his pack. Although clumsy, he's pretty good at detecting people's emotions.
Blaine resumed his human form and approached Kurt, also having noticed his concern. Kurt is almost never worried. He is always in control of himself and his emotions. So if he lets his pack feel his worry, it means something is happening.
« What's going on? I've never seen you so worried ».
Kurt shook his head, emerging from his thoughts. He looked at the horizon, seeing trees looming in the distance. The advantage of living in a small town is that there are many large spaces to let off steam.
Kurt shook his head again and screamed as loud as he could. This gesture is called a pack call. It is often used by the Alpha to call its pack, wherever it is.
After a few minutes of waiting, Kurt, Blaine and Finn saw more wolves coming. Some were panting from having run, not yet quite accustomed to their new speed and energy consumption.
The other wolves that have just arrived are also Omega. They are Rachel, Quinn, Santana and Brittany.
As usual, Rachel and Quinn start growling at each other, not really liking each other and finding that they are too close to each other.
Kurt soon separated them before a fight broke out. Lately, they keep coming up with excuses so that they can fight, so that Kurt keeps them separate to prevent things from getting out of hand.
"Girls, it's okay. You're not here to fight. I called you because I have a bad feeling and I would like us to check the forest. There may be a hunter. This has happened in the past, so we know what to do..."
All nodded and followed Kurt. He guided them to the entrance to the forest. He again took a great inspiration and then headed in one direction without even taking the time to take real references. He knows this forest very well, he is not likely to get lost.
As he sensed, she was a hunter who roamed her territory. It seems she was an amateur. She doesn't really seem to know what she's doing.
As soon as she saw them, she started shooting at them. Bullets don't actually do damage to werewolves, especially because of their instant healing ability.
Kurt hurried to disarm her and drive her away, telling her to leave and making her understand not to come back or there would be serious consequences. Kurt didn't like death threats, let alone killing. He wears it in horror, even though he knows he can if he has no other choice.
In fact, it was one of the rules of his original pack. They never killed people, no matter what they did. It is this rule that led to the loss of the pack.
He looks back every day on that attack, the one where his mother died before his eyes. He could do nothing, being far too young and too weak at that time. He couldn't even do anything to protect his best friend, Aria Mongtomery, who got her face scarred. Like him, she's an Alpha werewolf. He always wondered if she was alive, because when he called his pack, she never answered.
Maybe she's too far away or she doesn't want to answer his calls. When they were last seen ten years ago, she didn't blame her for not standing up for her. After all, he had just watched his mother die. There was nothing he could have done that could have changed the course of events.
This attack took place ten years ago, orchestrated by highly prepared undercover fighters. They had used extremely deadly weapons for them and burned their territory to make sure that all were dead. However, there were still survivors.
Kurt and his father and Aria and her family.
Kurt went out of his mind again and went back to Lima. He didn't want to be late for school.
On the way home, he began to think about the moment of his impregnation with Blaine. In the life of a werewolf, impregnation is an important event. It is the moment when a werewolf finds his partner for his whole life. The moment, too, when an Alpha finds his Beta.
Kurt remembers very well how it happened. He went into a café that he had just discovered. He saw Blaine and knew directly that it was his Beta. The feeling in him didn't fool him. When there is impregnation, instinct and feelings are never wrong.
Kurt never hid the fact of being an Alpha werewolf and so directly went after Blaine. He explained everything to him, fearing that he did not understand and that he was even afraid.
To his surprise, Blaine was very understanding. He had already made some inquiries about the werewolves, to satisfy his curiosity. So he immediately understood why Kurt was approaching him with so much energy and why he was so nervous. His instincts were boiling and he was doing his best to keep control of himself so as not to jump on him.
Blaine had only laughed about it and his relaxation allowed Kurt to relax and enjoy their impromptu rendezvous.
Kurt began to smile as he walked, remembering these memories. He always likes to remember beautiful things rather than the dramas of his life. Of course, his pack knows what happened when he was a kid, but they also know he doesn't like to talk about it. He doesn't like to remember these memories, because they cause him nightmares.
Kurt took on the form of a wolf and started running, prompting his pack to follow him. He wanted them to be in great shape for this new day and he thought running was a good idea.
So that's what they did. They all started running as fast as they could, trying to catch up with Kurt, who was in the lead.
Kurt loved these moments. Games and good humor are his pack.
And, they're all set for another day full of twists and turns.
