The night hung heavy over the silent streets of Rome, casting an eerie stillness that seemed to echo Naruto's sense of urgency. With each step, he pressed forward, his strides purposeful and unwavering, a testament to the strength of his resolve in the face of adversity. Ahead lay the outskirts of the Italian capital, where the Sigurd Institution stood, a beacon of hope now shrouded in uncertainty.

The dim glow of streetlights cast long shadows across Naruto's path as he navigated the labyrinthine streets, his mind consumed by thoughts of his friend and teammate, Lint Sellzen, whose safety now hung in the balance. The bond they shared, forged through countless battles and shared triumphs, pulsed with an intensity that matched the pounding of his heart.

In the quiet of the night, Naruto's determination burned bright, a guiding light in the darkness as he journeyed towards the outskirts of the city. With each passing moment, the weight of responsibility bore down upon him, driving him forward with an unwavering sense of purpose. For Lint's sake, and for the sake of their friendship, Naruto would stop at nothing to ensure her safety.

As Naruto arrived at the scene, the grim reality of the situation unfolded before him. The once-stalwart facade of the Sigurd Institution now lay in ruins, its once-imposing structure reduced to a mere shell of its former self. Debris littered the ground, scattered amidst the rubble like the remnants of a forgotten dream.

Amidst the chaos, injured exorcists were tended to by priests and nuns, their weary forms a testament to the fierce battle that had unfolded within the institution's walls. The air was thick with tension, the weight of uncertainty hanging heavy in the night air as Naruto surveyed the scene before him.

Naruto approached a passing nun, his voice laced with urgency as he inquired about Lint's whereabouts. "Excuse me, sister," he began, his tone tinged with concern, "have you seen Lint Sellzen? Is she safe?"

The nun shook her head, her expression mirroring Naruto's worry. "I'm sorry, I haven't seen her," she replied, her voice soft yet tinged with apprehension. "This is the eastern area of the institution. She might be in the west."

"Thank you so much, sister" Naruto nodded, a sense of unease settling over him as he thanked the nun for her assistance.

Following the nun's guidance, Naruto swiftly made his way towards the western area of the institution. With each determined stride, the cacophony of clashing swords, gunfire, the sickening sound of flesh being pierced by blades, and anguished cries grew louder, echoing through the night air.

The ominous symphony of battle served as a grim reminder of the perilous situation engulfing the Sigurd Institution. Naruto's heart pounded with a mixture of anxiety and resolve as he pressed forward, his senses attuned to the chaos unfolding ahead. Every fiber of his being urged him to hasten his pace, to reach the source of the turmoil and ensure the safety of his comrades amidst the turmoil of conflict.

With each passing moment, the weight of uncertainty grew heavier, fueling his determination to find his friend and ensure her safety amidst the chaos that engulfed the Sigurd Institution.

The scene shifted to a desolate building, where the remnants of conflict lay scattered amidst the rubble. Lifeless bodies of fallen exorcists littered the ground, silent witnesses to the violence that had unfolded. Among the debris, two figures stood locked in a tense standoff.

On one side, a girl with white hair tinged with shades of black, Lint Sellzen, knelt on the ground, gasping for breath as she struggled to rise. Her weary form bore the scars of battle, a testament to the fierce struggle she had endured.

Facing her stood a man with hair as white as snow, clad in the garb of a priest, wielding a blade of light and a sacred pistol. His expression was one of contempt and madness as he gazed upon Lint with a sinister grin, his eyes alight with malevolent intent.

With a deranged expression etched upon his face, the man addressed Lint, his voice dripping with madness, "Is this the extent of your power, Lint?"

Lint, still struggling to catch her breath, questioned him through labored gasps, "Master Freed, Why...Why are you doing this?"

With a maniacal laugh, Freed responded to Lint's question, his voice tinged with madness, "Hahahahaha! Why, you ask? Ha! Because I can, my dear! It's all about the thrill, the rush of spilling blood. God? Bah! I've never believed in such nonsense. Killing is my only pleasure in life."

Lint, visibly disturbed by Freed's words, could only stare at him in disbelief, her heart sinking at the realization of the danger she was in. "Wh-what?!"

Freed leveled his holy pistol at Lint, who remained kneeling on the ground, and sneered, "Keep it in your mind that since the start I had no intention of becoming an exorcist. but as long as I can kill anyone, whether it's a devil or a human, then it's fine! And you're next! So please...tell your God... I said hello."

Lint closed her eyes, bowing her head in resignation, preparing to meet her fate.Freed's deranged laughter echoed through the desolate hall as he relished the moment, his eyes gleaming with madness. With a twisted grin, he continued to taunt Lint, his voice dripping with malice,

Why does it become like this? That's because...Lint hesitated.

Yes, she was hesitant and unable to fight a man who was born from the same genetics as her. It should be noted that Freed is also the result of a test tube baby from the Sigurd Institution's genetic engineering program. Making them artificial siblings.

Lint couldn't fight the man she considered her own brother, even though she had one of the Longinus, Incinerate Anthem. Moreover, she learned swordsmanship from him, before joining the Exorcist unit under Griselda and Ewald.

That was why she was helpless in front of Freed right now.

"I'll make sure you suffer before I send you to your precious God."

Lint's heart pounded in her chest as she braced herself for what seemed like an inevitable end. The air crackled with tension as Freed's sinister presence loomed over her, his twisted desires driving him to unleash chaos upon the world.

"Goodbye, my artificial sister . . ."

CRUSH

CRACK

"Huh?"

With a resounding crunch and the sickening snap of bones, reality shattered Freed's twisted expectations. Instead of pulling the trigger of his pistol, there was the sound of flesh being crushed and bones being twisted.

His hand, which had gripped the pistol, was now mangled and contorted, victim to an unseen force. Before he could comprehend what was happening, his body was sent hurtling through the air by the same mysterious power.

WOOSH

BREAK

Naruto, who had finally reached the scene, observed the unfolding chaos with a mixture of concern and determination. It was clear that something extraordinary was at play, and he knew he had to intervene swiftly to ensure Lint's safety.

As Naruto approached Lint, he could see the exhaustion etched on her face, the toll of the battle evident in every labored breath she took. Kneeling beside her, he gently placed a hand on her shoulder, his concern evident in his eyes.

"Lint, are you okay?" he asked softly, his voice filled with genuine worry. "I'm here now, you're safe." He offered her a reassuring smile, hoping to ease her distress even just a little.

Lint, her breath still ragged, managed a weak nod, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. She reached out and clasped Naruto's arm, grateful for his presence in this moment of vulnerability. "I'm sorry, Naruto. I don't deserve to be an exorcist. I'm weak, I hesitate...I hesitate to fight my own opponent" she whispered hoarsely, her voice barely audible above the din of battle still echoing in the distance.

Naruto shook his head gently, his expression tender as he brushed a stray lock of hair from Lint's forehead. "There's no need to apologize," he murmured, his voice soothing. "You did your best, and that's all anyone could ask for." He tightened his grip on her shoulder, offering her silent support as they both processed the events that had transpired.

As Freed rose from where he had been flung by Naruto's Blue technique, a primal fury consumed him, twisting his features into a grotesque mask of rage. With a guttural roar that echoed through the desolate battlefield, he demanded to know who dared to interfere with him.

"Who dares to defy me?!" he bellowed, his voice a thunderous crescendo that reverberated off the crumbling walls of the ruined institution. Every word dripped with venom, his eyes ablaze with a ferocity that bordered on madness.

As Naruto stood firm, his presence seemed to command the very essence of the night around him. The shadows danced ominously, as if bowing to his will, amplifying his imposing stature.

With a steady gaze that bore into Freed's soul, he spoke with a voice that echoed with unwavering resolve. "Your reign of madness ends now," he declared, his words resonating with an intensity that sent shivers down Freed's spine.

The air crackled with tension as Naruto's Six Eyes blazed with an otherworldly glow, casting an ethereal light that illuminated the darkness with an eerie brilliance. It was a silent warning of the impending clash between light and darkness, between sanity and madness.

Freed's rage simmered beneath his wild exterior as he realized the source of his disturbance: the boy who had been the topic of discussion in recent times. It was the boy born with two rare gifts, Six Eyes and Limitless.

"Gadzooks!" he exclaimed, his voice laced with a mix of disbelief and fury. "It's you, the meddling brat with those damned eyes and Sacred Gear!" His words dripped with venom as he glared at Naruto, his eyes burning with malice.

Naruto's response to Freed's accusation was laced with a hint of mockery, his tone dripping with sarcasm as he addressed the deranged exorcist.

"Oh, of course," Naruto retorted, his voice tinged with biting sarcasm. "How foolish of me to expect a man who doesn't believe in God to understand the concept of divine gifts. After all, it must be difficult to comprehend such matters when one's mind is clouded by madness."

Freed's laughter rang out once more, a cacophony of derision and scorn. "Madness, you say?" he sneered, his eyes gleaming with lunacy. "Perhaps it is madness to cling to the belief in a higher power, to submit oneself to the whims of an unseen deity. Or perhaps it is simply weakness."

Naruto's expression remained impassive, his gaze unwavering as he regarded Freed with a mixture of pity and disdain. "Call it what you will," he replied, his voice devoid of emotion. "But know this: whether you believe in it or not, the power of God exists within us all. And it is that power that will ultimately judge us all."

With those words, Naruto prepared himself for the inevitable confrontation, his resolve unshaken by Freed's delusions. For in the end, it was not the beliefs of men that would decide their fate, but the will of a higher power beyond their comprehension.

"Hahahahaha! God will judge me?! Fuck it all!"

Freed's maniacal laughter echoed once more, cutting through the tense silence like a blade. His words dripped with madness as he addressed Naruto, his voice laced with derision.

"You talk too much, boy," Freed taunted, his eyes alight with lunacy. "Words mean nothing in the face of true power!"

SWOOSH

With a sudden burst of speed that belied his one-handed state, Freed launched himself at Naruto, his movements fueled by reckless abandon. Despite his handicap, he showed no hesitation in his attack, relying solely on sheer audacity rather than any knowledge of Naruto's abilities.

Naruto's reaction was swift, his instincts honed by years of training and experience. With a fluid motion, he sidestepped Freed's oncoming assault, his movements as graceful as they were calculated. As Freed's attack missed its mark, Naruto seized the opportunity to counter, his own movements a blur of speed and precision.

BUGH

CRACK

With a swift and calculated movement, Naruto delivered a powerful knee strike to Freed's abdomen, followed by a sharp elbow spin to the chin, and finally, a forceful blow to the face.

"Ugh! How dare you!"

It was a display of Naruto's versatility in combat, showcasing his proficiency in hand-to-hand combat despite his inability to conjure light weapons with his holy energy. Unlike many others, Naruto didn't rely solely on his Limitless ability in battle; instead, he honed his skills in various martial arts disciplines, ensuring he was always prepared for any situation.

As Freed staggered back from the onslaught, Naruto remained poised and focused, his movements fluid and precise. He knew that victory required more than just brute force; it demanded strategy, adaptability, and unwavering resolve. And in that moment, Naruto embodied all of those qualities as he faced off against his deranged adversary.

"Technique Lapse: Blue"

Not willing to prolong the confrontation any further, Naruto made the decision to end it once and for all. He drew Freed's body towards him as if he were a magnet, all the while preparing for a final strike.

"Huh? Fuck! Shit! Damn it!"

Freed, still reeling from the barrage of attacks he had endured moments earlier, could only remain silent and immobile, unable to muster any resistance. His left hand lay shattered, his face bruised and battered from the relentless onslaught.

As intense aura enveloped Freed, the atmosphere grew tense with anticipation. Every movement, every breath seemed to hang in the balance as the two adversaries stood locked in a battle of wills. And in that pivotal moment, Naruto prepared to deliver the decisive blow that would bring the conflict to its inevitable conclusion.

"Black Flash!"

STRIKE

With his left fist clenched tightly, Naruto unleashed a devastating blow directly to Freed's abdomen, the impact accompanied by a crimson-black sparkle emanating from his fist.

Black Flash, a phenomenon born from the distortion of space caused by the infusion of magical energy within 0.000001 seconds of a physical strike. When executed successfully, the destructive force of the blow was amplified to the power of 2.5 times that of a normal strike.

Ordinarily, the aura of holyenergy surrounding Naruto would shimmer with a radiant white light. However, with the Black Flash technique, the energy took on a dark, gleaming hue as it surged forth. This was a technique that Naruto had honed and refined through countless hours of self-directed training and experimentation.

The fatal blow struck Freed's abdomen with a resounding impact, causing the deranged exorcist to spew forth a torrent of blood before being hurled a considerable distance, ultimately plummeting into the ravine beside the institution building. Whether Freed remained among the living or had succumbed to the injuries inflicted upon him was uncertain, but one thing was clear: Naruto had dealt a decisive blow to his adversary.

Naruto approached Lint, offering her a reassuring smile as he spoke, "I'll take you to the eastern area, so the nuns and priests can attend to you."

Lint nodded weakly in response, allowing Naruto to scoop her up in a bridal style. "Thanks..."

"Don't talk"

.

The Strongest Exorcist

.

As Naruto and Lint reached the eastern area, they were met with a scene of organized chaos. The injured exorcists were being attended to by a flurry of nuns and priests, their urgent movements a testament to the severity of the situation.

Dulio, Griselda, and Ewald stood at the center of the activity, coordinating the efforts with precision and determination.

Nearby, a fleet of pickup trucks was stationed, ready to transport the wounded to the Vatican's care center for further treatment.

Under the dim moonlight, Naruto approached his comrades, carrying Lint in his arms. Their faces etched with concern, Dulio, Griselda, and Ewald rushed to meet him, bombarding him with questions about what had transpired.

"Naruto, what happened?"

"Is Lint okay?" Griselda and Dulio looks concerned.

"She's hurt, but she'll be okay. We had a run-in with Freed Sellzen" With a solemn expression, as he spoke, the gravity of the situation weighed heavily upon them, casting a somber atmosphere over the group.

"Freed Sellzen? He's...Lint's brother, right?" Asked Dulio.

"Artficial brother, exactly" said Ewald.

Upon hearing that Freed was responsible for Lint's injuries, Griselda let out a heavy sigh. It wasn't entirely unexpected, considering the recent reports she had received from other exorcists about Freed's erratic behavior. There were accounts of him getting into fights with fellow exorcists, and rumors circulated about him deliberately killing his teammates during missions. However, Freed vehemently denied these accusations, claiming that they were killed by stray devils.

"Freed, I knew it. He was suspicious since he joined the Exorcist unit."

"It's not suspicious, Sister. That guy is indeed insane. He even proudly admits that he doesn't believe in God," replied Naruto.

As Griselda reflected on these troubling reports, she couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. It seemed that Freed's descent into darkness was becoming more pronounced, and the danger he posed to those around him was growing ever more apparent.

Ewald's steps quickened as he approached an exorcist receiving treatment for minor injuries, his heart pounding with a mix of urgency and dread. He needed answers, clarity amidst the chaos that enveloped the Sigurd Institution.

"What really happened here?" he demanded, his voice tinged with a sense of urgency.

The exorcist, his face lined with exhaustion and distress, glanced up, meeting Ewald's gaze with haunted eyes. "It all started off quite normally, Sir. Until there was an explosion within the building. After that, I saw the bodies of scientists and researchers scattered everywhere"

Ewald listened, his jaw tightening with each word, the gravity of the situation weighing heavily upon him. "And the perpetrator?" he pressed, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Freed Sellzen himself, he probably used bombs and planted them in several spots," answered the exorcist.

Ewald and Griselda sighed again. Freed, from the start when he became an exorcist, he did seem illogical.

"I've taken care of him. It's just that I don't know whether he's still alive or not. I was too enthusiastic about attacking him so he fell into a ravine," said Naruto.

"It would be very dangerous if he was still alive, but if that happens, we just have to kill him, simple right?" Dulio giggled.

Ewald and Griselda nodded in understanding. Now everything is under control, but this incident will be a record for the Vatican Church that the enemy in the blanket does exist. First Valper Galilei, then Freed Sellzen.

To Be Continued

Hi everyone,

Gosh, I still can't believe that so many people like this story based on an abandoned draft. I've read all your reviews, and there are some that interest me. It's just that I was the one who decided the plot, but even so, I still appreciate it. It can still be my little inspiration and reference.

Oh, one more thing. Actually, in this chapter I intend to write a scene where Naruto fights Siegfried after fighting Freed. Where Sieg defected, before joining the Hero Faction. But I almost forgot that Sieg works in the Orthodox Church, not in the Vatican. Even though he is a product of the Sigurd Institution just like Lint and Freed.

And in the next chapter, the story will switch to the original plot of DxD.
