Spin-Off : Diane comes back strong
Monday, Rosewood School, 8:30 a.m.
Like every day of the week, Ezra goes to work. He is a teacher and teaches literature at Rosewood High School. This is where he met Aria four years ago. Since that encounter, he became a werewolf, a Beta, joined the pack and had a child. He didn't expect this when he started his career, but he's happy with the life he leads today. Of course, his mother had to come back, start criticizing all his choices and threatening him if he doesn't listen to what she says. So Ezra was forced to reveal to everyone what she had done to him when he was a child. Thanks to this, he was able to scare her away, although she tried to come back on several occasions.
In New York, Diane was in her big apartment, still as empty as before. She decorated it with many paintings by masters, valuables in every corner, and precious materials, it is no less empty. She is solitary by nature and does not appreciate the presence of people she considers boring. So she makes do with her empty living space and does lots of activities to pass the time. She joined a golf club, having always wanted to try the sport. She has also joined a cricket club and regularly hunts. She privatizes land for that, not wanting to venture into the woods.
One night, Diane heard screams, sounding very much like howls. They were surely from werewolves who were passing through the region. Although it is extremely rare for a pack to leave its territory to find another, some do so because there are not enough resources left in their old territory.
Anyway, Diane did not like these noises, finding them very disturbing and disturbing her sleep. But it makes her think of her son and the life he leads, far, very far, from New York and its riches. She was tired of seeing him not respecting what she imposed on him, so she decided to come up with a plan. In a few days, Ezra will be back in his hometown and forced to stay there.
The week passed quietly for Ezra, but he was quite nervous. A few days ago, he received a message from his mother. She asked him to come to New York, for a drink and a chat. Of course, Ezra hadn't answered her, considering that would be telling enough. However, he knows his mother's character and her way of acting. She allegedly harassed him with messages until he replied. And then she said nothing. It's weird, and Ezra doesn't like it. That's what makes him nervous, his mother's silence.
Deciding to think about something else, Ezra went to work, like every morning. And, as always, he sniffed the ambient air, thus detecting the slightest trace of danger. He picked up the habit when he saw Aria do it. She does this whenever she enters a new place, whether she knows it or not. It's her werewolf instincts that tell her to do this, to make sure it's a safe and quiet place, and that she can move around without fear.
Ezra does the same now, because he knows it's important. Rosewood may be back to the calm town it was before, there can still be danger. There are people who do not accept the presence of werewolves and know how to make it understood, often with deeds rather than words. Ezra is a professor, he is in direct contact with people who are against his species, he must, therefore, identify them before they act.
For her part, Diane had prepared everything for the arrival of her son. She didn't expect him to respond to her message, and she didn't bother to follow up. He knows that this is something that is not normal on her part. He must be in an indescribable state of stress, almost panicked. The fact that he doesn't know how she got his number must also play a role. It's a perfect blend that will cloud him for the whole day.
The rest of Diane's plan is quite simple. She hired people to capture him. All they need to do is get to Rosewood, inject him with a werewolf tranquilizer mix so he's easily transportable, and get him back to New York as soon as possible. There is always the possibility that it will not work as expected, but this probability is very slim.
She also researched werewolves, so she could predict how Ezra would react to being captured. His first reaction will surely be to call his pack to come and save him. But, all it takes is a properly soundproofed place to prevent its howl, or even its roar, from reaching the ears of its pack. It must also provide chains strong enough, in case he decides to transform to escape. This will surely be his second reaction. His last reaction will most likely be a direct frontal attack to escape. In this case, you must quickly flee, because he has the ability to kill, and he will not hesitate to do so if he feels in danger.
While researching, Diane noticed something she didn't know. Some werewolves, having killed for pure pleasure or to take the powers of an Alpha, are considered to be corrupt. The wounds they inflict do not heal, regardless of the healing ability of the person attacked. The person will retain large scars if attacked by a corrupt werewolf.
If Ezra gets attacked by one of them, he won't be able to heal, and will be forced to listen to what his mother has to say. Diane just has to find one of them, and convince him to do this for her. Since these werewolves are driven by a desire to simply hurt people for fun, it shouldn't be too hard to convince one to do that.
Back in Rosewood, the day was coming to an end. It's time for Ezra to go home. On his way to his car, parked in the parking lot, he felt someone watching him, and he didn't like it at all. He turned around and groaned briefly, motioning the person to leave. He shook his head briefly and took his car keys out of his pocket. As he picked it up, he heard footsteps behind him, then a slight stinging sensation in his neck. He put his hand directly there and pulled out a strange object. He analyzed it and noticed that it was a tranquilizer dart.
After this brief analysis of the object in his hand, Ezra felt dizzy. He started to stagger and he caught himself to his car. He has never felt so weak. He does not know what has just been injected into him. Seeing the dart, which fell to the ground when he staggered, he noticed that it contained traces of a purple-colored liquid. This color indicates that there is aconite, a powerful poison for werewolves. It is often used to kill them, but can also be used as a terribly effective tranquilizer.
However, aconite has no effect on werewolves of the so-called original pack. This indicates that it is not the only thing present in the liquid which has just been injected into him. The aconite had to be cut with other products, for this to have an effect on him. With the little energy he had left, Ezra tried to scream to call his pack. However, he didn't have time to do so, as a man came and kicked him in the stomach, taking his breath away. It was the last thing Ezra saw before passing out.
Several hours later, Ezra woke up in a dark room, which looked exactly like the basement of a building. He immediately began to sniff the surrounding air, detecting the slightest scent that could tell him where he was. He also listened, wanting to know if there were any noises that could give away his captor. For the moment, he only has one certainty. He was abducted by an unknown person and taken away from his pack. They must not even suspect that he has been kidnapped, although his great delay will begin to worry them.
After a few seconds of scanning his surroundings, Ezra heard people talking to each other. He didn't recognize any of the voices, but a noise instantly caught his attention. He heard a person walking. This person was wearing stiletto heels, because they clapped on the ground in a loud way. Ezra only knows one person who wears this kind of shoe and walks like this. And that person is his mother.
Ezra felt his panic skyrocket and he began to tug at the restraints holding him to that chair. Until now, he hadn't even realized he was attached. But, hearing this significant noise made him realize the situation. He also realized that it is not simple ropes that hold him prisoner on this chair. They are strong chains, which are very difficult to break, except for a very well trained werewolf.
In a fit of panic and rage, Ezra issued a pack call, trying to make it as loud as possible. However, the room seems to have been soundproofed, precisely to prevent him from managing to warn his pack. He is completely cut off from the world and cannot warn anyone. He can't even indicate his position to his pack.
A few minutes later, Ezra heard a door creak behind him, accompanied by the same click of heels. Still panicked, but still feeling a dull rage lurking deep within him, Ezra tried to trigger a transformation, either into a wolf or into his original form. But, the tranquilizer that was injected into him still works and prevents him from transforming. He finally groaned in frustration and heard his groan echoing throughout the room.
Diane walked around the room, placing herself in front of her son, dominating him with her entire person. She saw the look of hate and anger in Ezra's eyes, but she also saw the panic, as his eyes darted in all directions, looking for an exit. He kept growling like a wild animal. His eyes weren't blue, they sported a golden color as pure as gold. This color goes well with the color of her hair, namely a very dark brown, so much so that it looks like his hair is black.
Diane cupped Ezra's face with one hand with a very firm, almost painful grip. She took the time to observe his eyes, admiring the purity of this golden color. As she did this, Ezra opened his mouth, exposing all of his fully extended fangs. Its canines are 8 cm long and as sharp as razor blades. His growl hadn't stopped, it was even increasing every second, hoping he could scare his mother away.
Of course, Diane showed no fear and just clenched Ezra's jaw even harder than before. She looked at him as a whole, noticing that he had gained muscle mass since the last time she saw him. He also seemed stronger and less inclined to be afraid of her and what she might do to him. After all, he is fully aware of the consequences he risks for everything he has done in recent years. However, the slight tremors that shake his body betray the self-confidence he tries to put forward. Diane allowed herself to comment on that, as well as on his physique.
"Well, you have very nice teeth, very sharp. I imagine you can slice anything you want with fangs like that. I don't think you can slice through the bonds that hold you on this chair. You have to face the facts, you won't be able to leave here, unless I have decided to. I also believe that you know why I had you brought here".
"For your own sadistic pleasure? Because that's all I see. Do you realize what you just did? Not only is it illegal and you'll most likely end up in jail, but you're gonna have my entire pack chasing 're going to hunt you down, relentlessly, and when they find you, I don't think you'll make it out alive. Do you remember what you said, Aria, the last time you shown? Well, that's not a threat, but a promise."
"Oh, your pack, your pack, always your pack. You only have that word in your mouth. They've brainwashed you, I only see that for you to say such things. You're not not one of them, you're much more civilized than that. But, if I have to refresh your memory like back then, I wouldn't hesitate to do it. Besides, that's what I've planned. You'll understand what it's like to disobey me, since you seem to have forgotten. But, for now, you'll have to wait. Everything is not completely ready yet".
Ezra watched his mother leave, realizing he was in much more danger than he thought. When he saw the door open, he let out a loud roar, hoping he could be heard by the pack. According to his observations, he is in New York, a long way from the territory of the pack, which is near Rosewood, Pennsylvania. There is, therefore, very little chance that his pack call will be heard. Annoyed, Ezra stared at the ground, waiting for the next events.
Meanwhile, at pack territory, Aria was circling. She was very worried, because Ezra must have been back a long time ago. Everyone around her felt her concern and the reason behind it. They are also worried and they don't know what to do. Kurt decides to go see Aria, wanting to know what he can do. After a few minutes of discussion, they decided to go see Rosewood High School. The whole pack set off, all in their wolf form.
The pack pulled into the parking lot of Rosewood High School, and one thing caught their attention directly. Ezra's car was still there, which is not normal. He has no meeting scheduled, so his car has no place there. Of course, the unforeseen hypothesis was quickly issued, but that's not it either. Aria inspected the car and saw an object on the ground. She picked it up and understood very quickly what it is and what happened. She growled in rage, like all the other members of the pack.
The item Aria is holding is a tranquilizer dart, often used in abductions. It is obvious to say that the tranquilizer used here is a special mixture to be able to work on him and weaken him. It must, surely, be the same mixture that Sebastian used when he went after Blaine. However, the slight bluish color mixing with the purple liquid indicates that there must be something more, to make the mixture even more effective.
Inspecting the car more closely, Aria saw small claw marks, those of Ezra. He must have taken them out to catch up, when he was starting to feel dizzy from what was injected into him. Although he was able to get his claws out, he doesn't seem to have had time to use them to defend himself, as the place shows no signs of a struggle. He must have been too weak to be able to defend himself. The people who kidnapped him only had to wait until he was completely asleep to move him.
Kurt looked around, looking for any clues. He saw no traffic cameras, nothing that could identify the kidnappers. There do not seem to have been any witnesses, otherwise the police would have been notified, and they would have been immediately afterwards. Aria was also looking around, not suppressing the growl of rage from escaping from her throat. Kurt was also growling, wanting to gut the person who went after Ezra. Santana looked angry and ashamed. She blames herself for not being able to protect him to the best of her abilities. She knows she can't stay with him all the time, but she blames herself anyway. Her protective Omega instincts are very strong in her.
Kurt understood what Santana was thinking and hurried to reassure her. Aria realized that too, through the haze of rage that clouded her vision and her thoughts. She also went to reassure her, not wanting her to feel bad. It's not her fault. If she had been there, she would have been hurt, or kidnapped with him. There was nothing she could have done except try to slow down the kidnappers as best she could.
The pack returned to their territory, after going to the police to find out what to do. It's no wonder that the police told them to deal with this problem on their own, even giving them license to kill, if they wanted to. Indeed, when a problem affects the pack as a whole, even if it concerns only one of its members, the police do not prefer to take sides or provide assistance. She considers it very complicated to solve the problems of a pack, even if it has been attacked. This can cause quite serious relationship problems. The police prefer, therefore, to give authorizations to the pack, so that it solves the problem by itself. These given permissions go as far as the right to kill anything that gets in their way.
Aria was in a state of rage she had never felt before. As soon as she finds this person, she will not hesitate to kill her. That's what she wants, but she also thinks about the ethics of their pack. They don't kill under any pretext, no matter how angry they feel. So she won't kill that person, even if she really wants to and it's a person who represents a danger for the pack.
While searching the parking lot at Rosewood High School, Aria had found Ezra's phone on the floor. It didn't look damaged, it still has battery and works perfectly. Aria knows the code, so she didn't hesitate to unlock it, to see if there was a clue. She opened all the apps, starting with his email. Opening it, she came across an unknown phone number, which hadn't been saved on Ezra's phone. It doesn't have to be someone he knows.
Aria opened the message and saw red as soon as she read it. Diane, Ezra's mother, made her return, first starting with a simple message to her son. He wasn't threatening at all. It was just the request for a meeting in a New York bar. She hadn't specified the reason for this meeting, but she didn't need to. Ezra hadn't answered her, which must have made her angry. This post is a week old. She therefore had time to prepare a plan. Maybe even this one had been ready for a long time and this message was only a primer to see how Ezra would react. But, Diane must have known that he was not going to answer, and was able to prepare his abduction.
Aria growled in anger again, louder than before. Kurt stormed into his house, wondering why his growl of anger was so loud. She explained the situation, and saw Kurt's eyes turn from blue to red. His pupils were so small they looked like they had disappeared. He recovered quite quickly, before going to gut this woman. He just nodded, not knowing what else to say.
However, one question remained. Why didn't Ezra issue pack calls? He knows that's what he should do if he's in danger, so he can tell the pack where he is, no matter where he is. They can hear it for thousands of miles, because their hearing is fine enough for that, and it's in their instincts. The only assumption about that is that Ezra hasn't had the opportunity to do it, or that the room he's in is soundproof.
Soundproofing a room in which you want to keep a werewolf prisoner is an old hunting technique. By doing this, we prevent the werewolf from giving his position to his pack by roaring. Keeping them chained is also a good technique, as it can prevent a transformation, only if the werewolf is weakened by a poison or a tranquilizer. If the werewolf kept prisoner is in good shape, no chains will be able to prevent him from transforming.
After a few minutes of deliberation, the whole pack roared in unison and rushed into the forest, running at top speed. Aria knows very well where Ezra is being held prisoner. His mother owns several buildings in New York, all with cellars larger than each other. He must be in one of them. Rachel, a self-proclaimed New York City expert, offered to guide the pack upon their arrival. Indeed, this city is teeming with different smells that will disturb their sense of smell. They won't be able to effectively track Ezra through all of this.
Aria had accepted Rachel's proposal, considering that having someone who knows the city well and is able to guide them is good for their search. Kurt had also accepted her idea, because he knows that she knows the city much more than him. She explored it much more, having gone to every corner, and quite secret places.
In New York, Diane finished preparing her perfect plan. All that was missing was the small pack of corrupt werewolves. She had found one by posting various ads on several dark web sites. From what they said, they love picking on innocent people who didn't ask. But, they also offer their services for a large amount of money. If you pay them enough, they'll do anything you want, to anyone you want.
For Diane, they are the perfect people. They do not hide the species to which they belong, nor how they became so. They also explain everything that comes with being a corrupt werewolf. They also display their prices and the services they can provide for these prices or for prices much lower than those given. They also say that they can do completely personalized services, with a larger sum of money in compensation. They are not afraid of anything or anyone, and do not hesitate to kill their client's target, if he asks them.
Ezra, he was waiting, still attached to this chair in the same building basement. He felt his panic rising from minute to minute. He didn't know what was going to happen, just that it was going to hurt. His mother is a master at torturing him and making him suffer in every possible way. He even wonders how he made it out alive and with so few scars. Becoming a werewolf must have erased some of them, but the bigger ones must still be visible. Such is the case for Blaine, whose stomach scar didn't go away after becoming a werewolf.
The self-healing gene of werewolves is very powerful, because it allows you to bring back a sense that had disappeared or that was not there from birth. It can remove most scars and wounds present when the person was still human. However, this gene has its limits. He cannot cure people who are paraplegics or quadriplegics, unless they have already done a lot of rehabilitation. Nor can it make large scars disappear.
For example, Blaine was assaulted years ago by guys with knives. They almost disembowelled him, but he got away with it, leaving a very big scar on his stomach. It starts from the bottom of his belly and goes up along his abs. When Kurt bit him, that scar remained, the gene couldn't make it go away. She was far too big and still very sensitive and painful, both to the touch and during certain movements.
This is also what happened to Ezra. He still has some scars from when his mother beat him every day. They are, for the most part, located in his back, but some are at the level of his torso or his arms. He also has a small one on his right leg, traces of an operation to put braces on him. Indeed, when he was five years old, his mother did not hesitate to break his right leg to make him understand that he had done something wrong. As a result, he had to be rushed to hospital for treatment. He had to be operated on because the fracture required opening his leg to put the bones back in place and put a pin in place to hold them in place while they healed.
This scar remained after the bite, like those on his back, which are marks made by a whip. They don't hurt him anymore, but they're still there. Those that were present on his chest disappeared after the bite, like those on his arms. The ones that remain are the biggest and the ones that hurt the most. His mother will, surely, tried to play on these old wounds, because she knows that it still hurts him a little and that it traumatized him.
After waiting another hour, Ezra heard the same door creak behind him, indicating that someone was entering the room. Wanting to be threatening, he let out a powerful growl, still trying to undo his bonds. The tranquilizer he was injected with is still working, although he thinks he must have received a second dose without realizing it. The person who entered didn't seem at all impressed by his grunt, continuing on his way quietly. Ezra heard the same heel click, and didn't have to turn his head to see who had entered.
Diane pushed herself back in front of him, dominating him, again, with her whole person. She loves doing this, because it gives her a much more impressive stature. It also gives her an impression of power. Ezra, on the other hand, just glared at her, even though his eyes were currently golden, trying to suppress the tremors that shook his body. He continued to growl slightly, showing that he didn't like being here and that he was ready to move on and attack him. Diane just laughed at what she saw, not even bothering to comment on anything.
"Charming. Anyway, that's not what I came to talk to you about. I managed to improvise a small combat arena, in the cellar next door, and I brought in people who must be commensurate with your strength. The goal here is very simple. You will be dropped into this arena and you will have to defend yourself against these attackers. Since you are a werewolf, it should not be too difficult. Finally, that's what I think".
"Do you want me to fight? You really are crazier than I remembered. You want to see me suffer and this is the only way you have found? Or have you become too lazy to do it yourself? It's ridiculous, and you know it."
Diane didn't bother to respond to what Ezra just said. She just untied him, making sure to keep him under her control, and led him into the next room. This whole room had been screened off, leaving enough space for people to sit and watch what was going on. Ezra growled again, not liking what he saw. He doesn't like the idea of having to fight, even though he knows it. He is not an expert either, but he masters very good fighting techniques, he is fast and knows how to defend himself.
Upon entering the makeshift arena, Ezra saw other people on the sides. Their eyes glowed slightly, showing that they were werewolves. However, their eyes didn't shine as brightly as his. Their color is duller, which is quite unusual for a werewolf. Kurt and Aria told the pack about this kind of phenomenon. Werewolves that have their eyes glowing a dull color are werewolves that are considered corrupted. They are because they killed someone for fun or to steal an Alpha's powers. The wounds they inflict do not heal.
Ezra immediately started to panic, realizing the situation. They are about a dozen, and will attack, surely, at the same time. If they don't have orders to kill, they may come out alive but seriously injured. However, they can be ordered to kill and in that case he will be dead.
Diane stood in the middle of the arena and looked around. The various corrupt werewolves came forward. Everyone looked at Ezra with a hungry look, which made him recoil, panicked at the thought of what will happen. All of these werewolves were growling, looking menacing. Ezra backed away again and found himself backed against the screen door, which had closed behind him. He had no way to escape from this place unless he managed to beat them all.
"Well, here are your opponents. I think you have realized their peculiarity. Don't worry, they weren't ordered to kill, they'll just hurt you, but I can't tell you how far they'll go with this. All you have to do is fight, defend yourself and hurt them. But, for that, you have to be fast and agile enough, because, they, they are".
Ezra decided to roar as loud as he could, wanting to show that he was not going to let it go and that he knows how to fight. In the pack, he is one of the strongest fighters, after the Alphas, of course. He's also one of the fastest, only being slightly outpaced by Spencer, who is cut out for speed. So beating a small pack of corrupt werewolves shouldn't be too hard for him, even if they are on the power play.
Diane barely had time to leave the arena when the fight began. One of the corrupted lunges at Ezra, giving him no time to react properly. Another also jumps on him, all claws out. Ezra roared even louder and decided to take his original form, knowing that she is awesome. By taking it, he can, perhaps, show them that he is much more powerful than they think and that they owe him respect.
As he sensed, his assailants looked at him, surprised. They weren't expecting it to take on such a rare and complicated form. But, that didn't stop them, because they resumed the fight directly. They all jumped at Ezra at the same time, who didn't know which way to attack. He alternated between his original form, his wolf form and his human form, thus thinking to destabilize them. He takes advantage of all the advantages of each form, that is to say, strength, speed and agility. He was going from one corner to another, circling around these corrupt werewolves.
However, his strategy didn't work as long as he had thought. One of them had managed to intercept him and threw him against the opposite fence. What Ezra hadn't noticed yet, being lost in his haze of panic, is that there are onlookers. A wicker basket circulated between them, a sign that they took bets on the winner. Ezra didn't give up and resumed the fight immediately. He was taking claw after claw, leaving him with serious scars, especially on the side of his face, but that didn't stop him. He's so enraged he could kill them, but he knows he can't. Killing someone, no matter what they have done, is against the ethics of the pack.
However, he knows that Aria could bend this rule, because his rage towards Diane will have taken over. She knows how to control herself, but she has, surely, never felt such a feeling of rage in her life. She might, therefore, find it difficult to control herself. The rest of the pack must be in such a state, because Ezra is one of their Beta. It's in the nature of Omegas to protect their pack members, and it's also in the nature of Alphas. Ezra also started thinking about Santana and her overprotective nature. She must blame herself for not being able to ensure her safety, and she must also want to kill the person who attacked him.
At the same time, the whole pack was on the road to New York. All in their wolf form, they ran through the forest, seeking to reach the big city. But, running so fast and for so long requires a very high consumption of energy. They are therefore obliged to stop regularly to feed and rest. Again, they took no food with them, preferring to hunt for food. This time, Rachel said nothing, didn't even look disgusted. She finally understood that they are forced to hunt for food when they roam the forest like that. Hanging food with them is far too restrictive.
Aria didn't want to stop. She wanted to get to New York as soon as possible, knowing that Ezra is busy suffering. She doesn't know what's going on, but her instincts never fail her. She knows what her mother is capable of, the whole pack knows it. In her later appearances, she didn't hesitate to threaten Ezra in front of everyone, which made them all angry with her and ready to kill her if she posed a danger to the pack. Aria is the first to feel this urge inside her, even wondering if that's not what will happen when they arrive at her house. She's so enraged that it might be her first reaction. But she also knows how to demonstrate perfect self-control.
The pack stopped in a small clearing lost in the middle of the forest. It is a rather quiet area, perfect for resting. The place is also teeming with game, ideal for hungry werewolves in need of food. Besides, they did not wait for food to be brought to them. They decided to go hunting themselves, practicing the techniques they learned. It didn't take long for them to return to their rallying point, all dragging various dead animals behind them.
As usual, Kurt threw himself on the first carcass he saw, letting his hunger take over. Blaine followed right after him, along with all the other Omegas in the pack. Only Aria was not eating, having no desire. Sure, she's hungry and knows what's going to happen if she doesn't eat, but she doesn't have the strength. She feels a mixture of rage and sadness, which seems to prevent her from eating. Kurt went to bring her a piece of meat, encouraging her to eat before she ran into the forest in search of prey because her hunger took over.
Aria eventually agrees to eat, making do with a small amount of food. She'll eat normally when she's sure Ezra is safe. Night was also beginning to show itself, a sign that the search will have to stop until daylight returns. They will be able to sleep a little, allowing them to have enough energy the next day to continue their way to New York. Aria watched everyone go to bed, all still in their wolf form. She looked at the sky and saw the moon shining. She screamed as loud as she could, hoping that this call would be heard by Ezra, although it was unlikely.
The next morning, the whole pack was awakened by a loud noise. Aria had been hunting, bringing back enough food to feed twenty werewolves. Everyone rushed on it and ate quickly. It seems that Aria has regained her energy, as she seemed to be in a much better mood compared to the day before. She urged the pack to follow her, not wanting to waste any time. Everyone followed her, understanding that they didn't have time to wait or relax.
In New York, the awakening was painful for Ezra. He hadn't fallen asleep, but passed out from all the blows he had received the day before. He did his best to defend himself and push them back, but their numerical superiority got the better of him. He couldn't use his speed and agility to his advantage, as there was always one to intercept him. So he decided to curl up, so that the blows only hit his back. But this technique did not prove effective either, because his assailants threw him against one of the fences of this makeshift arena. The crowd was delirious, having obviously bet on the victory of these corrupt werewolves and not on his.
Getting up, slowly, Ezra noticed that he was in a different room from the day before. There is no chair placed in the middle or fences that run through the walls. There are only rings on the walls, to which are connected chains, themselves connected to his wrists and ankles. He also noticed a sort of metal collar tight around his neck. It's not tight enough to keep him from breathing, but it still bothers him. He continued to get up and saw blood staining the few clothes he had left. He remembers doing all the transformations he knows and fighting. However, he doesn't remember the outcome of the fight, but he thinks he lost.
Ezra continued to scan the environment he was in, but saw nothing that would allow him to find an escape. There are no windows, the door seems to be armored, he is chained and far too weak to pull them out. Frustrated and annoyed, he let out a howl of rage, wanting to let his jailer know that he didn't appreciate this situation and that he wouldn't let fear get the better of him. He knows his mother wants him to be scared, so she can manipulate him as she pleases. But, he won't let that happen. He is no longer the frightened little child he was a few years ago.
A few minutes later, Ezra heard that significant click of heels again. He stood right in front of the door, fangs outstretched and claws out. He wants to show that he will not hesitate to attack to defend himself, regardless of his state of health. What he didn't realize were the wounds that had been inflicted on him the night before. Indeed, he has a large claw mark on the left side of his face. It looked a bit like Aria's scar, except hers only runs down the side of his face. It goes through his hair and down his neck, stopping before his chest. He also saw that he had one in his abs and a smaller one in his arm. He didn't notice any broken bones, but it's hard enough to see without X-rays.
Diane entered the room and saw her son standing in front of her. He stood straight, surely wanting to give himself an impressive stature. But, it is not, because she saw his legs tremble under the effort he made to stand. It's obvious he's in pain, but he doesn't want to show it. He doesn't want to give her satisfaction, so he hides his pain. However, the long streaks of blood down his face betray the fact that he feels nothing. Such large and deep lacerations hurt a lot, regardless of the person's pain threshold.
Diane noticed, too, that Ezra had all his fangs out and all his claws out, surely wanting to show that he is aggressive. Diane only raised an eyebrow at the sight, not finding it impressive. Ezra does not scare her and he will never scare her. All she sees is the little boy curled up in a corner, begging for an end to his ordeal. He can't be the aggressive, well-muscled man who now stands in front of her. He does not have, and never had, the makings of this man. Even though he fought pretty well the day before, he's not the strong man he claims to be. Deep down, he's still the scared, panicked kid he always was.
"What do you think you're doing? Are you trying to be aggressive? Well, I have to say...it's not working. Seriously, do you really think I'm going to be afraid of you? I've known you since you were born, and I know you're not like that. You're not strong or impressive or anything you claim to be. Yes, you are indeed a werewolf, it shows. But, you you are a Beta, that is to say, a being totally submissive to the desires of the person who controls it. In the pack you are in, you are only an inferior being. I bet even that they do not don't respect you".
"I see you know nothing about the werewolf way of life and the hierarchy of a pack. Yeah, I'm a Beta, but I'm not as submissive as you think. In the pack, I'm very respected, because I'm second in the hierarchy, just below the Alphas. Basically, I have authority over the Omegas of the pack, but not the Alphas. Second, we are a more special pack than those that we can meet normally. We are much stronger, faster than all the other werewolves that exist. That's why I was able to take this form, yesterday, during this fight. They were surprised when they saw it, because they did not expect it. They know what pack I belong to and the consequences that follow from such an attack. And yet, they still agreed to continue the fight, even knowing who I am and how strong I am. Of course, I was drugged with a tranquilizer, which reduced my strength. And they were on the power play against me, which also affected my defeat ".
"You, authority? I don't think so, it's just ridiculous. Honestly, look at yourself. How can you lead people with the little authority you exude? What you're saying is improbable and right stupid".
"Oh yeah, that's stupid? The last time you came to our territory, do you remember what happened? I asked the whole pack to get behind me, just in case you would decide to come after me, and they did. And, when we saw each other in New York, Aria threw herself on you to defend me. Rachel, who was behind you the whole time, was going to kill you, but a simple gesture on my part was enough to prevent it. So, I am not an inferior being, I have authority, because that is the role of a Beta. We're second after the Alphas. We are the ones who settle the conflicts and manage the pack in the absence of the Alphas".
"I maintain, you have no authority. It doesn't matter what you say, it's just luck. If they're put behind you, it's not to protect you, but to protect their business. There was a machine, they were protecting were definitely not protecting you".
"Yeah, right, they were protecting the machine. Do you realize what you're saying? I don't think so, given the amount of bullshit you spout per second. You don't know anything about our way of life and the links that unites us. But, I think you'll soon find out, because right now, the whole pack must be busy looking for me. It shouldn't be long before they realize that you're the one who did this. In fact, I think they already know that, so they will, surely, be coming soon. If you want, I think I can negotiate how you might die. But hey, kill is not in our ethics, then, unfortunately, you risk, very likely, to make it out alive".
"Do you dare threaten your mother with murder? Being a werewolf has really made you violent, both in words and in deeds. Well, it doesn't matter. Today, I'm going to take care of your sentence. You know how many times you've disobeyed me, either directly or indirectly, and you know the consequences. So let's not procrastinate and get straight to business."
Ezra backed away slightly, but roared as loud as he could. He felt the ground shake beneath him, as well as the walls. The different links of the chains rattled together under the impulse of his roar. Diane looked around her, wondering if the building would collapse under the power of such a sound. She had never heard a sound so powerful, containing so much anger and rage in it. She looked at Ezra, who continued to growl. He was clearly mad at her and was trying to show it.
Diane didn't seem more impressed than usual and left the room in search of the items she needed. Ezra must be convinced he scared him off, but he didn't. Diane is not afraid of anything and certainly not of her own son. Even if he bare his claws and bare his fangs, he wouldn't dare to be overtly, or overtly, aggressive towards her. He will never attack his own mother. His little talk about his pack and the fact that she is ready to defend him and travel thousands of miles to find him, is just ridiculous and highly improbable. Who would want to travel such a great distance for someone who is easily replaceable.
Ezra, on the other hand, was going around in circles in this small room. When he woke up, he thought she was tall, but she's not that big. It has just enough room to move around a little, but no more than that. He doesn't know how long the pack will take to find him, if they can find him. New York is a very big city with lots of different smells on every street corner. It will be very complicated for the pack to follow his trail in the city. And, all the rooms where he was being soundproofed, it is not even possible to signal his position with a pack call. He's just going to have to wait and go through whatever his mother has planned for him.
In the streets of New York, passers-by jostled to let a troop of hysterical young werewolves pass. Nobody knew why they were running so fast and sniffing in all directions. Aria was at the head of the group, looking in all directions. They have finally arrived in New York, and they do not know where to start the search. Rachel was right there with her acquaintances, asking various questions to Aria, since she is the one who knows Ezra's mother the best. According to her, she must surely be hiding in one of the upscale neighborhoods of the city, but she does not know which one.
After another hour of searching, the pack came across a large building, which appears to be a luxury hotel. Wealthy people entered and left as if nothing had happened, because their hearing was too weak to allow them to hear the cries coming from the cellar. Aria almost immediately recognized Ezra's scream, indicating that he was there. The whole pack had heard and recognized him. Ezra must have felt them too, to start screaming like that. He signals his position, for them to come and get him out of there.
In one of the cellars of this luxury hotel, Ezra was going around in circles despite the chains that limit his movements. He sat against the wall, until he recognized Aria's scent, as well as that of all the other members of the pack. They found him and they will be able to get him out of this hell. He began to launch several pack calls, to report his position and that they can realize that they are in the right place. He heard them talking, surely about their plan of action. He knows Aria very well and knows that she will not hesitate to break in. Kurt, on the other hand, is much more cautious and law-abiding. He doesn't like breaking any unless necessary.
Outside, Kurt and Aria were discussing their plan of action. Aria wanted to break in and search the entire ground floor until she found the entrance to the cellars. Kurt, on the contrary, prefers to go more cautiously, not knowing what pitfalls may lurk. Although the place is crawling with people, it is possible that Diane has hidden traps to prevent Ezra from escaping. After a few more seconds of reflection, they decided to enter, completely unaware of the potential dangers that may be lurking.
Meanwhile, Diane was in her office, located on the top floor of a tall building. She was writing an email to her friends, asking them to come and admire the brand new show she had just created. She does not forget to mention the important details for a good understanding of her work. She hopes they will come, because she considers it an unmissable event.
While writing this email, Diane received an alert message from her director of security. People have just entered and they seem to have a very specific goal. Diane had invested in a high-performance security system, the best she could find. The surveillance cameras are equipped with facial recognition, thus making it possible to identify who is entering and who is leaving and whether they are registered in any database. This is the case with werewolves.
Indeed, there is a database listing all the packs in the country, as well as their members and their place in the hierarchy. It also gives all the characteristics of the pack and its members. It is an extremely complete database which allows rapid identification of a werewolf. This mention is also present on the identity papers, always for a quick identification. In general, there is always the mention of the species, the status and, sometimes, the symbol of the pack. The presence of this symbol is not obligatory, but is rather appreciated by the police services, to be able to bring back the werewolf at his place, if he got lost.
Diane finished sending her email, not paying too much attention to the people who had just entered. He instructed his guards to take care of them, even if it means calling the police for trespassing. However, what she didn't expect was that her guards wouldn't be able to fend them off. Frustrated, she closed her computer, planning to finish her email later. She stormed out of her office, got into the elevator, and went downstairs, deciding to sort this out herself. Kids aren't going to stop her from doing what she wants.
Downstairs, all the security guards were hiding from the enraged young werewolf who was yelling at them. She kept growling and scaring everyone present. After a while, a young man, in his thirties and looking very wealthy, approached Aria. He wore an arrogant look, as if he was sure he had the situation under control.
"Young lady, you're annoying everyone here. You're definitely not staff, like everyone behind you. And, you don't look like you're a guest at this fancy establishment. So, I do not see the reason for such a scandal. Know that you are harming the good reputation of this institution".
"When you see who this hotel is run by, luckily I'm damaging its reputation. The owner is the mother of my Beta, and he's currently being held prisoner in one of the cellars of this fucking hotel. So say tell me where they are, that way we'll go faster and I'll stop bothering you, as you say".
"Cellars? I don't work here, so I can't tell you their direction. I don't even know if there are any. And, how dare you slander the manager of this establishment. She's an heiress of a very big business man, who bequeathed all his fortune to her. She is, herself, an outstanding businesswoman and a respectable woman. You should be very careful what you say. A condemnation for defamation, it can look very far".
"Okay, I see you're useless. So get out of my way because I don't want to hurt you. But, know that you should never get in the way of a werewolf in anger because a psychopathic woman turned on her pack. And, last information, this woman of which you sing the praises so well, well... she did not hesitate to beat her children, just for her own pleasure".
Aria continued on her way, leaving the man speechless behind her. He didn't seem aware of all this, but that surely won't stop him from continuing to defend her. After a few seconds, Aria heard Kurt calling her name. He had found the door that leads to the cellars. He also heard several people talking, a sign that someone was there. Looking up, Aria noticed surveillance cameras. Diane saw them enter and she's probably trying to move Ezra before the pack gets to him.
In a surge of almost uncontrollable rage, Aria launched herself into the corridors that lead to the various cellars. The whole pack followed him, wanting to get there as soon as possible. They also felt like they were being watched. These hallways are very dark, but there is some light that allows them to see. However, this does not allow them to see if there are traps, or people waiting for them.
Further on, Ezra got up at the noise. Someone was coming towards him, but it's not his pack yet. They must be busy searching the hotel, to find the place where he is being held prisoner. The person who came to him is none other than his mother, who quickly enters this small makeshift cell. She is out of breath, showing that she ran all the way here. Ezra laughs at the sight, but he gets a slap right after. He didn't hold back the growl of rage, showing that she doesn't have to do this again. However, Diane did not care and did not hesitate to pin him against the wall.
"Oh, you're going to stop your little number and very quickly. Your friends are there, and they did it quickly, obviously. How do we get them to leave?".
"See, I told you they were coming. But you preferred to keep your arrogance and not believe me. Now you manage. I wouldn't make them go. Then I growl or growl or roars if I will. It's just a mode of communication that you human are not fully adept at understanding."
"Good. Very good. I'll send the people you fought against. Considering what they did to you, it's only a matter of time before the field is clear. As a precaution, I'll still move you to another hideout".
"Do you really think they're the match against them? When I fought against them, they had the power play, that's why they didn't care. I'm a Beta, and they, they're only Omegas, corrupted at that. Normally they should have submitted to me, but the greed made them not. And then, as I said before, the numerical advantage, it also helps".
"There are ten of them, they are going to beat them. I have confidence in them. You forget that the wounds they inflict do not heal. Look at you, you are covered in blood. These traces, these wounds, you will keep them for life".
"Yeah, they're ten, you're right. But, my pack, they're in their twenties. So they're the ones with the numerical advantage, not your little soldiers. Then, yeah, I'll keep those scars for life, but it still scar. It's just that it's gonna take a lot longer than usual and the scars will also be a lot bigger. So, you trust them, yeah, it's is good, but it is absolutely useless".
Ezra laughed again, trying to push his mother away with what little strength he managed to muster. Diane backed up, causing Ezra to lose his balance and fall to the ground. He got up and did not take the prick to attempt a transformation. He's far too weak to make one, and he knows it's useless. He just has to wait for his pack to get to him. Diane looks at him and doesn't bother trying to pick him up. It's too heavy for her and all her staff are busy with other things. She has to wait until someone is available to transfer Ezra to a new hideout.
At the same time, in the corridors of the cellars, the pack faces a whole new threat, which they had never seen before. Corrupted werewolves currently stand before them, ready to swoop down on their target. All of their fangs are outstretched, as well as their claws, and their eyes glow a dull, almost grizzled orange color. Kurt and Aria looked at each other, unsure of what strategy to take. Their status as corrupted Omegas can work in their favor, because they won't be able to resist the authority of two pure Alphas, especially if they master a form that is the envy and fear of all werewolves.
After a few seconds of consultation, Kurt and Aria began to take off all their clothes and take their original form. The corrupted werewolves looked at them, impressed, but their expression of aggression had not disappeared. Kurt sneered and gave a loud roar, followed closely by Aria. The rest of the pack roars with them, which is meant to trigger the corrupted Omegas into submission. They took their wolf form and flattened themselves on the ground, leaving the Alphas to mark their dominance over them by placing a paw on their heads.
It is customary for an Alpha to show its dominance over a Beta or an Omega by placing its paw on the person's head when the latter is lying on the ground. It is a mark of respect towards an Alpha who reprimands a member of his pack for an action, whatever it may be. Generally, when an Alpha reprimands an Omega, he bites it, gently of course, on the legs or tail. If he understands the message, he will lie down on the ground and let the Alpha do what he has to do. If the Alpha scolds his Beta, which can happen, they will grab them by the scruff of their necksand force them to the ground, marking their dominance in this manner. Admittedly, it's much more impressive to see, but it's not as painful as you think.
Kurt and Aria have used the methods for the Omegas before, but they never needed to scold their Betas. Also, if a reprimand is made in human form, it will just be a verbal remark. If there is a recurrence, the wolf form will take over. On the other hand, no mark of domination or reprimand, was observed in the original form. This shape must be less practical for this sort of thing.
The corrupted Omegas didn't move from the ground, leaving the Alphas to do what they thought was right. The pack did not linger longer than that. Kurt and Aria made sure their assailant didn't move when they left. An Alpha's order cannot be disputed, regardless of pack membership or corruption. An Alpha's command will always take precedence over instincts, except in the case of imminent danger.
The pack continues its way through this maze of concrete corridors, until they hear people arguing. Aria recognized Ezra's voice directly, although she was rather weak. She also recognized the other voice, namely that of Diane. Hearing that, Aria couldn't suppress her growl of rage. The rumble was so loud it echoed down those concrete hallways, most likely reaching Diane's ears. Although she surely doesn't understand this kind of mode of communication, she must know what a loud growl like that must mean.
Ezra heard it and rushed to answer, keeping a small smirk as he looked at his mother. He copies his exact smile, showing him that he can, too, play his way. He didn't really have a plan, just that his pack would eventually arrive to save him. Diane just looked around, not knowing what to do. She has no one to help her move her son from the hideout, because he is too weak to move himself, and he won't agree to do so. The people she hired were obviously beaten, and her security personnel must have been beaten too. She has no one to defend her, apart from an old collectible revolver that she keeps in the window of her office.
When she learned of the arrival of Ezra's pack, she rushed to take this old rifle, which she bought at auction a few years ago. She has a tiny box of ammunition to load it with and takes care of it enough that it is still able to function. However, most werewolves are immune to gunfire, no matter how powerful. And, as for the members of the original pack, namely Ezra's entire pack, the bullets will only ricochet off them, not even piercing their skin. So, using this old gun, invaluable, since it is a collector's item, is more than useless.
Short of an idea, and a plan, Diane locked herself in the small makeshift cell in which she keeps her son locked up. The door is metal, and it should be strong enough to keep them out, but nothing is certain. Ezra was looking at her with a raised eyebrow, wondering why she was hiding here. She must have realized the seriousness of the situation and it must have been the only thing she thought of doing.
"Why are you hiding? I thought you were going to face them, since you are not afraid of them. Unless you have realized that they are strong, much stronger than you and that you are not have no choice but to hide here? I would lean more towards this option. And, where are they, those that you hired to beat me? If I follow my instincts, and they never deceive me, I would say that they were beaten by the pack. So you still think you'll be fine now?".
"Shut up, I didn't give you permission to talk! I'm not hiding, I'm just making sure they don't find me and get away. The basement of this building is huge and all the rooms are soundproof. They can't hear you scream, and it will take a lot of them to find us. They'll be fed up long before and leave. Also, the only time you could scream and they probably could hear you, that's when I came in. Otherwise, they couldn't hear you. They don't know where you are."
"You're lucky that I'm too weak to break these chains, because I would have done it a long time ago. And, yes, they heard me. When you opened the door, it's normal, but there wasn't just this moment. This room isn't completely soundproof. Look up there, there's a little hole that lets air in. It's right on the street, so they were able to hear me when they arrived. Any werewolf could have heard me. I imagine you were relying on street noise to cover up my screams or screams."
Diane looked at the place Ezra was pointing to, and saw the hole he was talking about. It did indeed overlook the street, a fairly busy place by the way. The people who pass through here are, for the most part, very wealthy businessmen or women who don't care about other people's problems. They just concentrate on their work, ignoring any distractions, even when it comes to someone in danger. So there was very little chance anyone would notice that someone was locked up in the basement of a big luxury hotel. Moreover, no one thought the owner capable of doing such a thing.
Diane shook her head and leaned against the door, listening to the noises in the hallways. For the moment, she doesn't hear anything suspicious, but Ezra continued to smile. He knows very well what the absence of noise means. The pack is close, very close, and they don't make any noise to maintain the element of surprise. It's a great way to attack and prevent the enemy from counter-attacking, because he won't know how to do it. Thus, the pack can ensure the success of this rescue mission.
After a few seconds of waiting, Diane stepped back from the door, seeming sure no one would come here. But as soon as she moved back a meter, the door opened with a great metallic slam, revealing a very angry Aria. She roared at the top of her voice, feeling everything tremble around her. Diane shook her head at the sight and hurriedly regained her characteristic poise and prepared to engage in conversation. She has always considered herself an expert in the art of finding arguments in her favor. Maybe she can find some that can convince a whole pack of savage and aggressive werewolves to return home and leave her son alone.
"Well, I see that your canine scent has led you here. But, now, I am ordering you to leave this place or I will call the police. This is a trespass. You entered this place using of your strength of wild beasts. You should be locked up".
"Oh yeah, and you, you're going to end your days in prison too. And, you risk a very big sentence, for kidnapping, torture, attempted murder and threats. I don't think you realize what you've done Already, you've taken it out on a pack of werewolves, one of his Betas, to be precise. Then you seem to have no business being picked up, even if you weren't expecting it. In any case, you will regret what you did".
Aria finished her sentence with a deeper voice than usual, letting her rage seep through her. Diane looked at her with wide eyes, finding no other arguments to come up with. For the first time in her life, she is short of arguments which she considers to be very convincing. She cleared her throat, continuing to think about what she's going to have to do. The only thing that comes to mind is to offer them money to leave. Thinking it was a good idea, Diane pulled out her wallet and pulled out a large wad of cash, the one she keeps for emergencies.
With a vague and shaky gesture, Diane handed the bundle to Aria, waiting for her to take it and leave. Aria looked at her and pierced all the bills with a single claw, making them lose all their value. This gesture shows that she doesn't care about money, and that she won't be able to buy it. Diane watched her, wearing a bewildered look on her face. It's the first time she's seen someone treat money like this. After staying for several long seconds with her arm outstretched, Diane dropped the perforated banknotes on the ground and began to think about a new strategy.
"Well...I see that money doesn't interest you. Besides, it shouldn't interest anyone here, except me, of course. It's normal for people living like savages not to care about money. Well, what would make you happy, and which could convince you at the same time, to leave here? You see, I solve my problems with my son. You're a mother too, you have to know we can't stand disobedience. I must make him understand that he has broken my rules too many times. I haven't even counted them, there are so many».
"What do I want? Get out of my way before I make you! Trust me, when I said I know how to lose control on purpose, it was no joke. I really know how to do it, and I believe that's what's going to happen."
Diane looked at Aria and took a step back. She finds herself cornered against the bloody chest of her son, who did not hesitate to let out a slight moan of pain punctuated by a slight growl of rage. Aria watched her, clenching her fists tightly to maintain control. She squeezed them so hard that her claws entered the palms of her hands, letting the blood drip to the floor. It's a fairly well-known technique among werewolves. Pain allows you to maintain self-control, because it appeals to human and animal instincts at the same time. The human side will always be the one that will prevail by managing the pain.
After a few more seconds of reflection, Diane finally pulls away, leaving Aria to throw herself into Ezra's arms. Of course, he collapsed directly on the ground, the pain and his weakness taking over. He's been trying hard to stay up all this time, it's normal that he can't hold on any longer now that he knows he's safe. He can, finally, release the pressure.
Meanwhile, Kurt took care of Diane. He made sure she couldn't escape and already took her to the entrance of the building. As soon as they had the certainty of Ezra's presence, they directly contacted the New York police, explaining to them what they were going to do. The police did not object to their plan, simply agreeing to take charge of Diane's arrest, when she is extracted from the cellars. The police know very well that it is always necessary to accept the plan of a pack of werewolves in search of one of their members, even if their plan contains deaths.
Once Diane was entrusted to the good care of the New York police services, Kurt returned quickly to the basement. He went to help Aria move Ezra, who is barely standing, to the ambulance waiting outside the entrance. The ambulance was also called as soon as they were sure of Ezra's presence. He will be taken to a hospital in New York for a first complete health examination. Once this is done, he will be transferred to Rosewood Hospital, where he will surely have to spend several days before he can return home.
Aria got into the ambulance, while Kurt considered what to do. Logically, the pack should go home, except for the Alphas and Betas, who make sure everything goes well. However, nobody wanted to go back, which is understandable. Ezra is not going to go back to Rosewood yet, because he has to go to the hospital first. From there, the decision to transfer him will be made. But, there is a risk that this transfer decision will not be made as he is far too weak to endure such a long journey.
About an hour later, Ezra had been sent to the nearest hospital, and was immediately taken care of. A lycanologist, a doctor specializing in werewolves, had been called to be able to treat him effectively. All the while, Aria hadn't left him, analyzing every move of every person present, grunting at the slightest sign that might hurt him. After a while, the doctor asked her to leave, understanding that an Alpha will never give up his Beta, but that it is very complicated to work in such conditions. Most of the nurses present have never had to deal with a rather dominating and possessive Alpha who very fiercely protects his Beta. They are afraid and risk doing their job badly.
Aria nodded and left the room, not wanting to get in their way. But, it was very difficult for her, because her instincts push her to stay close to Ezra, who is suffering and who is in full panic because he is in a place he does not know. All the rest of the pack is there, and they, too, are having a hard time stopping themselves from breaking down the door and entering this room. Their instincts are very strong, and very few manage to master them to perfection, although they all make efforts to keep control of themselves.
Night was beginning to fall when the doctor came into the waiting room. Aria was the first to get up, rushing to the doctor, asking for news. Kurt walked over to her and pulled her back, helping her calm down. The whole pack had also risen, some already falling asleep, but they still wanted the news. Aria was shaking with impatience and nervousness, barely managing to contain her alert roar, signaling her position to Ezra. Her instincts tell her to do it, so he can know he's safe and fearless. However, she's in a hospital full of humans who don't understand this kind of communication mode and who might call the police believing she's being aggressive while roaring like that.
"No worries, he's fine, finally...considering the wounds he has. He was attacked by corrupt werewolves, so the wounds they inflicted on him won't heal. He will keep large traces of it, which will be quite sensitive, especially to the touch, and this, all his life. The biggest one is located on the left side of his head. It does not touch the face, but it touches his neck. Fortunately for him, this gash was not deep enough to kill him, but it could have. The other gashs of this type are much smaller, shallower and more scattered on his body. He knew how to defend himself and avoid exposing the most sensitive parts of his body. Finally, there are a few fractures, particularly in his right arm. We had to operate on him to put the bones back in place. We also placed pins in him, to that his bones don't move. She can be removed after a few weeks. Other than that, there's nothing else to say."
Throughout the doctor's explanation, Aria only nodded, barely registering the information. She seemed to be in another world. The only thing that reached his ears was Ezra's room number. As soon as she heard, she rushed to her room, almost thanking the doctor. Kurt, who was also listening, took the time to take all the information that will be useful to them, namely the treatment he will have to follow and the conditions so that he can be transferred to Rosewood hospital. He nodded and went to Ezra's room. It's no wonder Aria is there too. She was almost on top of him, and growled at anyone who passed in the hallway.
Obviously, Aria's dominating and possessive side was busy coming out, and she was having a little trouble controlling it. She feels a more than intense joy to have found Ezra, to know that he is now safe. But, she also feels a pure and boiling rage deep inside her, which also prevents her from thinking properly. Because of these two emotions and feelings, she is not sure what to do or how to behave towards strangers, such as hospital staff for example. Also, at the slightest gesture that Ezra made, she put him back on his bed, almost preventing him from moving, for fear that he would hurt himself.
It's her dominating side that makes her act like that. Her possessive side means that she protects him from anyone who could harm him, whether that person is known or unknown, whether they are from the pack or not. Indeed, she will not hesitate to scold, or even roar, at a member of the pack who risks hurting him. It's his Alpha instinct, and the Omega's will stop them from doing anything that might hurt their Beta.
A week later, Ezra was discharged from Rosewood Hospital. He had been transferred there the day after his admission to the New York hospital where he was rushed. He was recovering quite well, so there was no need to keep him in the hospital. Although he can't heal most of his wounds, they don't bother him. He was able to resume his life, completely unaware of the pain he feels all day long. He has even started reducing the number of painkillers he takes in a day, wanting to get used to the pain as quickly as possible. Of course, there are medications that he still has to take, because those are the ones that limit the risk of infection. They also act as painkillers, although this is not their primary role.
The reunion with his daughter, Ellie, is the thing he has been looking forward to the most. He was separated for almost two weeks. It broke his heart to think that he would never be able to see her again, if his mother had succeeded in moving her from the hideout, as she had planned. Luckily, the pack arrived in time to pull him out.
All the other children in the pack rushed at him, all happy to see one of their Betas again. For them, he has always been a good adviser, and one of the most playful too. He taught them a lot of things, like mastering their wolf form almost to perfection. Their parents taught them, but having advice from someone else, who has another way of doing things, of working, is always beneficial.
The life of the pack will be able to resume its normal course, because all the dangers have been eliminated. Of course, there are always new ones that can arrive, but the pack is well prepared. It will no longer allow itself to be done and will defend its lands and its members as well as possible. No one can attack them anymore, even if they want to. The pack is much stronger than before, because the new generation is here, and although they are still young, they are already ready to fight to defend their own.
