Chapter 2
-Near the edge of the forest-
"Absolutely not!"
"Why Twilight? She doesn't seem so bad"
"I just think that setting a meeting place for a very powerful spirit in my living room is not the best idea, maybe you have some place else in mind AJ?"
"Hmm... Oh! Ah have one place like that, near the edge of my orchard is an old treehouse we could use"
"Then its settled!" Rose said scaring the two ponies "I'll go with Applejack tomorrow to set it up"
"You were listening in on us?" Twilight asked
"Well of course, you were discussing the place where you can meet me"
"Okayy are there any objections girls?"
"Nope"
"Nothing at all darling"
"I'm good"
"No I think"
"Then let's go back home, today was an eventful one"
《The next day》
"And we're here" said Applejack near her was an old treehouse that looked like its going to collapse
"Okay let's see..." Rose looked around to find something adequate "Ah a mirror perfect"
"What are ya planning to do with that sugarcube?"
"A simple portal spell nothing much" she said as the mirror began to emanate an emerald glow before fading "And it's done"
"Okayyy so we just say your name to the mirror and you'll come?"
"There's more to it but yeah that's pretty much it"
"Then we'll see you around sugarcube"
"Till next time, bye" she said as she stepped into the mirror
《3 Days later》
"That should be the last one" Applejack said to Twilight as they finished collecting apples. As Applejack bucked the last tree she heard something from it
"huh?" The spirit managed to say before she fell from the tree "ouch"
" oh sorry didn't know you were there "
"Its fine AJ I had it coming sleeping in there anyway"
"Why were you even sleeping there? Isn't it uncomfortable?" Twilight asked
"To me its more comfortable than my bed at home, that's the reason I don't really stay there for longer than necessary"
'How does that work?' Twilight thought
The ponies turned to spike as they heard gurgling sounds
"What's wrong Spike?"
BURP "A letter from the Princess!"
"A-hem 'The Princess is pleased to announce the Grand Galloping Gala to be held at the magnificent city of Canterlot at the 21st day of... yadda yadda courtly extends an invitation to one known as The spirit of everfree, Twilight and one guest!'"
As the mares tried to register the information it finally hit them " The Grand Galloping Gala!" " What?!"
~POV Rose~
Rose was really confused with this, nothing like it has happened since more than a thousand years ago, what was different this time? 'There's no way it was Luna's doing right? She told me again and again how she hated these meetings as much as me'
As the mares were celebrating Spike interjected "Look! Three tickets"
"Nice! I've never been to the gala, oh! Have you ever been there Rose?"
That was a hard question, what exactly was she supposed to say? Oh yea but that was a thousand years ago. That won't be right "Uhhh technically yes?"
"Really!?" Asked the two mares
"Well the last one I've seen happened in the old castle and because it's in the forest I already know what happened even though I wasn't there?"
"..." "..."
That was even worse !
"Anyway" Spike thankfully broke the akward silence "I've never been there and I'm keen on keeping it that way, I don't want any of that girly nonsense"
"Aww c'mon Spike a dance would be nice"
"Nice? More than nice! Do you know how much business for the orchard I could do there? We could even replace that saggy old roof! And Big Macintosh could replace that saggy old plow! And granny Smith could replace that saggy old hip! I'd give my left hind leg to go to that gala"
Seeing my chance I offered "Well in that case you can have min-" "No Rose you only have one ticket let me give Applejack mine"
Twilight interjected
"Whoa whoa whoa! Are we talking about the Grand Galloping gala?!"
"Rainbow Dash! You're tellin me your too busy to help me harvest apples, what were you busy doing, spying?"
"I was busy working" she pointed at some clouds resting nearby "And I just happened to hear that you two have extra tickets?"
"Yes but Rose doesn-" "YES! This is so awesome!" Oh no, she's gonna think I also have one "Hey Rainbow I don't ha-" " The wonderbolts perform at the Grand Galloping gala every year, I can see it now"
Aaannd she's monologuing
"You get it girls? This could be the only chance to show my stuff! You gotta pick me!"
As Applejack started arguing with Rainbow I addressed Twilight "We have to stop them"
"I agree, I fear what's going to happen when the rest of our friends know"
"Yeah..."
Twilight moved between the two mares who were in a middle of a hoof wrestle
"Girls! These are mine tickets I'll decide who gets it thank you very much. Whoever has the best reason to go should get the ticket"
As the girls begin to present their reasons Twilight stomach begins to growl
"Oh look at that, I dont know about you but I can't think straight with an empty stomach so I'll get back to you girls later okay?"
Taking the hint I took the chance "I'll join Twilight"
As we were on our way to a restaurant Twilight asked "Wait wouldn't other townponies notice your wings?"
"What wings?" I asked as they dissapeared from my back
"Huh... that's convenient"
《At Ponyville》
"So who are you going to give your ticket to?"
"I dont know spike but I really can't think straight when I'm hungry, so where should we eat?"
As soon as i saw pinkie jump at us i quickly teleported to the side to avoid getting hit, unfortunately Twilight wasn't as lucky
"Ahh! Bats in my face! Wait ... these are not bats these are tickets to the Grand Galloping gala!"
'Oh no'
As pinkie began singing spike began to pick up the tickets when Rarity noticed him with them
'Okay what's with that luck, it's like these tickets are cursed'
"Oh the gala! I design suits for it every year but I never got the chance to attend. Oh the prestige, the culture, the glamour! It's where I truly belong, and where I'm destined to meet.. him.."
"Him! Who?"
"...Him.. seated beside the Princess his coat a beautiful grey which would put the most velvety silk to shame, his beautiful mane reflecting the storm inside his heart, his strong wings that could tear apart the most feral of winds and his regal horn glowing with magic worth of royalty"
'Okay there's no way she's actually talking about HIM right?'
"I'll cause such a commotion that the Princess will grant me an audience where she will introduce me to him.. her son the most handsome stallion in all of Equestria!"
"PHAH!" 'She IS'
"Our eyes would meet, out hearts would melt and when he would offer me his hoof in marriage I would have nothing to say, but YES!"
"Twilight please give her the ticket I HAVE to see his face when she tries this!"
"No that's not fine Rose we don't make fun of love!"
"Aww" worth a shot
As Fluttershy explained her reason to get the ticket others join attempting to get Twilight to give them the ticket
"STOP! These are MY tickets and I can't make a decision like this!" growl "And especially on an empty stomach! Now shoo."
As the girls began to disperse I spoke to Twilight "You know what Twilight, I decided that I'll be sending back the ticket"
"What? Why? And wouldn't it be better to give it to someone else?"
"I'm visiting Luna at the time and I think that if I allow one of them to have one they're just going to get more jealous and pester you more for yours"
"But you're my friend, I want you to go too!"
"For me if everyone isn't going then might as well none"
"Oh... well then I'm also not going"
"Wait, are you sure?"
"Yes, just as you said if even one of my friends is not going then might as well none... can you call them to my treehouse now? I want to break the news to them too"
"Okay, sure" with that I cast a teleportation spell to the orchard
~POV None~
All 7 mares were sitting in the main room of the library wondering why they've been called there
"Listen everypony, I decided what I'll do with the tickets"
"Ha I told you all it's me!"
"Quiet Rainbow she ain't said anything yet"
"With help from Rose we decided to send back our tickets"
"WHAT?!"
"What do you mean send back!?" Dash asked
"I'm sorry girls I just can't choose, you all have equally valid reasons for going, I just can't" Twilight said on the verge of tears
At this response the 5 mares started to rethink their actions, they only thought about themselves after a few minutes Applejack spoke up "Its alright sugarcube, I understand"
"M-me too"
"Wait were actually sending them back?"
Applejack sent RD a pointed look
"...I haven't practiced my moves enough yet so I guess I can wait for another chance "
Twilight looked happy at how the girls worked it out "okay, Spike?"
"On it" he said as he breathed magic fire on it that sent the tickets back where they came from
"I'm happy that's over now" said Rose "huh? What's wrong spike
Burp! "My dear Twilight, why didn't you just say so!"
In the letter there were 7 tickets
The whole room began to cheer as Spike stood there jealous "Fine it's not like I wanted to go anyway. " burp! 'And one for you Spike' written on it with a ticket attached "hehe..." Spike laughed awkwardly
"Girly nonsense huh Spike " Twilight said chuckling
"Uhhh yeah"
