Episode 4: Rangers, Flight As One
Mortrix had just created the Megazord formation but the team needs to learn how to work together, especially when Polari infects a magnetic chess set to command his pieces much like an army. It isn't easy as Drake and Shade's differing attitudes get in the way
Royal Woods Park.
A lovely place for kids to play, hang out, go on picnics.
"JYNXERS! ATTACK!" Shadowshot commanded
And it seemed to be a good hotspot for Polari to attack.
Luckily, the unmorphed Rangers were there to take them down.
Five Jynxers began running towards Drake, daggers raised. One tried to slash him but Drake leapt back and did a reverse roundhouse on the hand while another tried to stab him from the side, but Drake grabbed its arm and bent him down before flick kicking him to the face, sending the Jynxer to the ground. ANother tried stabbing but Drake moved out of the way before clotheslining him while another tried to ram him. It succeeded but Drake held his ground then threw the Jynxer to another before rushing to help some people.
"Move! COme on!" He said as the kids and their parents rushed out, while he palm striked one back then kneeing it in the face, sending it flying.
Leni was weaving and bobbing out of the daggers way, pushing one into another before stepping back to backhand one that was trying to strike her from behind. She then push kicked another then threw another over her shoulder. Batting the palms of another, she then pushed it away from her before sweeping its legs then pulling a young child away from the action.
"Playtime's over! Move!" She said before performing a spinning roundhouse to one, sending it spinning away.
Jordan had just sweeped one then kicked another back. When one tried to charge, she leaped back and kicked some sand into their eyes, blinding them. She then found a soccer ball on the floor, a grin forming on her face.
"Oh yeah." She said before launching it at high speed, watching it bounce off back to her hands. She did the same thing to four more, watching at they were launched back and the ball went to her hands, kicking it to where a Jynxer was harassing two teens
Lincoln watched as three rushed to him, eyeing their movements. One was about to slash from the left while the other was going to slash from the right. Leaping onto his hands, he flipped forward then did a donkey kick to the one on the left then a reverse roundhouse to the right. The thrid tried slashing him but he leapt out of the way and soon Lincoln ran to where the swings were, three Jynxers hot on his trail.
Grabbing the seat, he let them get closer.
"3…2…1!" He spoke as he let the swing fly and hit all three at once. He dusted his hands at his handiwork before rushing to help the others
Shade was stepping back of one Jynxer, then he slammed a right fist into its jaw then grabbing another and doing a bar throw to a different as it went into a different Jynxer. One tried to do a sneak attack but Shade picked up some sand and threw it into its face, blinding it. He then placed it in a backbreaker hold, spining around before throwing it somewhere. That somewhere was where Drake had just pushed someone away and he had to roll out of the flying Jynxer's path.
Drake then looked at Shade in annoyance
"OI! You mind?!" Drake yelled annoyed.
"Sorry. Didn't see you." Shade replied.
Shadowshot soon started to shoot his revolvers, with each ranger dodging the blasts.
"Stand still!" He growled.
"Sorry! Need a way to burn off that sugar!" Lincoln taunted, rolling out of a bullet's path.
Shade and Drake were dodging the blasts when soon they ended up crashing into each other.
"OW! Watch where you're going!" They yelled.
"Me?! Why not you!" They also yelled.
"Uhh..guys. What about Billy the Jinn over there?" Jordan asked the two arguing boys. But they didn't notice as soon they started to wrestle on the ground, much to the other three's embarrassment.
"Hmmm…Interesting. Another time rangers." Shadowshot said as he leapt into a portal.
Shade and Drake noticed him escaping.
"Oh great! He's escaped! I hope you're happy!" Drake said as he glared at Shade.
"How is it my fault?! You're the one who ran into me!" He snarled.
"You shouldn't have wasted time messing around with that Jynxer! This isn't the Wrestling Federation!" Drake countered.
"It's called immobilization! It works and it isn't like you're weak strikes!" Shade said.
"Why don't you show some discipline?!" Drake snapped.
"When you stop being a buzzkill!" Shade snapped back.
MEanwhile with Leni, Lincoln and Jordan.
"Should we?" Leni asked in concern.
"I rather not. This is rather personal." Lincoln spoke,
"Male pride?" Jordan spoke.
"Yep." Lincoln answered.
"Should we just go to the Sky Temple?" Leni asked.
"Oh, yeah." Lincoln said as he called on Motrix to teleport them to the temple. The tornado soon came and carried them up to the temple.
At the Temple, the Rangers were at the training grounds just as Avias and Mortrix came up to them.
"Rangers, guess what? We managed to further update your arsenal!" Mortrix spoke in a giddy tone before seeing Shade and Drake glaring at each other.
"What's wrong with them?" Mortix asked as he pointed at the two older boys.
"Don't ask." The other three deadpanned.
Shrugging his shoulders, Mortrix decided to present the Rangers with blueprints to a giant robot tengu.
"I managed to find a way to combine all of your Avian Spirits into one fighting automaton for any future giant battles." The silver-haired mechanic said.
Everyone just looked confused.
"He means you can combine the spirits to form your own Megazord." Avias clarified, causing their eyes to widen.
"OK, NOW I CAN HAVE A FANBOY MOMENT! THE NEXT PART OF BEING POWER RANGERS IS HERE!" Lincoln cheered.
"Megazord?" Drake asked in an intrigued tone.
"Yes. By combining your Avian spirits, you can unite to form the Avian Strike Megazord." He said.
While they looked on in awe, Avias had added this.
"But much like a flock of birds, you need to be in sync. Which is why we'll be doing team-building exercises. When you are in sync, then you can use the Megazord." Windform said, with his arms crossed.
They were then directed to an obstacle course. There were several hanging platforms, a bridge over a pool of water, some climbing walls and a grid of lasers.
"The idea is for all five of you to work together and make it to the other side. You CANNOT use your ranger powers. Just your skills and each other." Windform instructed.
"Right." They all responded.
On the floating platforms, the five looked at how to cross.
"So how do we cross?" Lincoln asked.
"Perhaps one at a time?" Drake suggested while Shade just looked at him with a deadpanned look.
"It's called WORKING TOGETHER. We need to go all at once." He said.
"We do that, and we'll tumble. One at a time, lessens that chance." Drake countered.
"And if we go one at a time, it will take too long and completely miss the point." Shade retorted.
Leni, Lincoln and Jordan were having their own discussion.
"So how should we do this?" Leni said.
Lincoln thought before coming up with an idea.
"Leni, you can pick me and Jordan up. You're stronger than us so it shouldn't be an issue. We need to keep a tight hold as we leap. If one of us falls, we need to stick close to grab the other."
While those three were doing that, Shade and Drake were still arguing.
"Those platforms are unstable! We will fall if we go at the same time!"
"And if we go one at a time, we will be here for who knows how long!"
Motrix had to cough in order to get their attention.
"What?!" They yelled.
"The other three have made it to the end of the course." Motrix said, pointing to the other three who just waved.
Shade and Drake looked at each other before leaping onto the platforms. Unfortunately, they wound up losing balance and fall into the pool.
"Go on at the same time you said(!) Great idea, Shade(!)" Drake snarked as he began to shake the water out.
"Well, who was it that knocked me into the drink?" Shade replied back with equal snark as he wrung the water out of his clothes.
Avias watched with disdain and concern over the two bickering rangers.
"The red and black rangers are far too conflicted. At this rate, they'll never be able to form the megazord if they act this way." Avias spoke.
"That's true. But how do we get them to work together?" Mortrix questioned.
"It better be something big to get them to work together." Windform grumbled as they all witnessed the two argue.
Royal Woods community center…
"OK guys! We have a shipment of chess sets that need to be stored. Can you put them into the cupboards?"
"Sure thing, boss!"
At the community center, Shade, now dressed in a green polo, was busy unloading several new magnetic chess sets into the cupboards, with the help of a woman his age with caucasian skin and long, black hair also dressed in a green polo and blue jeans plus white trainers.
"Thanks for helping me, Shade." She said as they continued to fill the cupboards up with magnetic chess sets.
"No worries, Jazz. You needed help." He said, also moving chess sets. But Jazz saw the annoyed look on his face as he was storing them.
"You know, there is something on your mind." she said as they paused.
"What do you mean?" Shade asked. Jazz just shot him a look.
"I've known you since we were kids. I can tell. So, what's up?"
Shade sighed.
"I recently got into a new gig and I have to work with this utter putz."
"He's totally uptight?"
"More like a wannabe general. We were supposed to be able to work together but we ended up falling apart and got into an argument."
"Hey, just cause he's different don't mean you should fight against him. Differences make people stronger. You should try and look into the differences and embrace them. They can make a team stronger."
Shade couldn't help but scoff.
"You're joking? This guy is totally uptight."
"Hey you never know. Sometimes you may have more in common with the guy than you think."
Suddenly.
"SHADE! JAZZ! LESS CHATTING MORE STACKING!" Their supervisor said as they went back to work.
However, Jazz noticed something off.
"Hey, I think we over ordered. There is one extra set here." Jazz said, holding it in her hands.
"Just leave it on the table, we'll let Mr. Barkin know." Shade said as they moved the trolley.
However, they failed to notice a portal open and Shadowshot sneaking out. In his hands was one of the infection pentagrams and he made his way to the lone chess set. He then opened it up and laid the pieces on top.
"I hope the rangers don't mind playing this game." He said with a chuckle as he placed the pentagram onto the middle of the board, letting it sink in. Soon, larger pentagrams formed as purple wisps soon formed in the air. The set then floated into the air as a purple orb surrounded it.
What came out was a white centaur with a black and white battle skirt, that had eight pawns, four of each a different colour. It had a black and white checkered body with a black arm looking like a rook while the white arm had a black hand and was holding a staff with a black bishop on top. The top of it's head had a cross and a gap which showed a pair of white, narrowed eyes.
"Now then, who shall be the first to fall against His Royal Highness, King Check?" he said in a deep, elegant voice with hints of arrogance.
"It will be the Rangers, Check. Now come." Shadowshot said but he instead got a sceptre pointed at his face.
"FOOL! YOU DO NOT COMMAND A KING!" He bellowed but Shadowshot just moved it away.
Shadowshot looked shocked.
"OK, that was not supposed to happen…' He said to himself before getting closer 'Look, I created you so you work for me!"
"Oh please! A peasant like you is not worthy to be a king! You will be a general at best!" King Check declared as Shadowshot began to feel regrets on this plan.
Jazz, Shade and the manager soon came out.
"WHAT THE?!" Jazz said.
"What did he do to that chess set?!" The manager roared as he grabbed a baseball bat
"Time to go. Jynxers! Attack!" Shadowshot exclaimed as both he and King Check leapt into a portal.
Shade knew he couldn't morph in front of them, so he charged head first into the Jynxers. He clotheslined one before side kicking another into a table. He dodged a swing from another as he kneed it in the gut then tripped it over by sweeping the leg. One tried to grab him from behind but Shade just elbowed it in the gut before smacking it with the back of his hand. He then spun around to knock it out with a right hook. Two more then approached him but Jazz grabbed a chair and slammed it on one of the Jynxer's head.
The other soon turned around and the manager came out and swung the bat to its chest, sending it over the table
"Thanks" He sighed.
"Don't worry. Listen, you need to find the Rangers. They need to know." She said as the manager nodded.
"We'll stay here and get this place tidied. Cannot believe that creature turned that chess set into a centaur." He said as the two began tidying the area
Shade then raced off. Speaking into his morpher, he decided to let the rangers know.
"Guys, we got a situation downtown. Shadowshot was here. We have a Jinn on the loose."
"On it. We'll be there." Drake said.
Activating his morpher, Shade decided to transform.
"Avian Strike! It's Time To Fly!" he yelled as he turned into his ranger form.
King Check was currently rushing through the area, swinging his staff as incoming citizens.
"You knaves! Kneel before your king!" He proclaimed as he fired from his castle-like arm at the buildings.
"Check! Remember who your creator is." Shadowshot said in a stern manner as he began to fire his revolvers. Several Jynxers began to swarm the place as they chased down civilians
"Hold it, you Royal Tragedy!"
King Check and Shadowshot turned and saw the Rangers rush in, blasters primed.
"So.' King Check said, posture straight as he spread his arms out. 'Five cads have chosen to wonder into my kingdom? You dare usurp my conquest?!"
"Check…" Shadowshot warned. He was starting to irritate him.
"Cads? OK, this isn't some medieval cosplay show. How about you quit the ye olde mambo jumbo and go back to the cesspool you came out of." Shade offered.
"How dare you! For this, your demise shall be swift! Jynxers!" He called as all of the Jynxers went to his side.
"Oh no. More Jynxers. What shall we do(?)" Lincoln spoke in a sarcastic voice.
"Oh, so you want more foes? How about these? Pawn Puppets! Arise!" He said as the eight pawns shot off and formed into mini knights, holding small swords and shields
"OK…did not expect that." Lincoln said in an amazed tone.
"Jynxers! Pawn Puppets! Fight for your king's side! And you, my general!' King Check pointed to Shadowshot. 'Come to your king!"
"YOU ARE NOT MY KING, YOU OVERGROWN HORSEMAN!" Shadowshot growled as his irritation levels spiked.
"Guess someone isn't pleased." Leni remarked.
"ATTACK!" King Check proclaimed as he pointed his staff as both sides charged except for Shadowshot who hung back and began to fire his revolvers.
"I create a Jinn Bruiser and he thinks he's a king. That was a waste." He muttered to himself as he fired.
Both Lincoln and Jordan stood back to back as they began to fire their blasters, each time they would fire over each others' shoulders.
"Like shooting fish in a barrel!" Lincoln said as he kicked one back and shot a Pawn Puppet in the chest. The puppet growled and drew its sword and attacked Lincoln, only for Jordan to clash with her saber.
"No one touched my man, pawny!" She declared as she struck the chest.
"Aww, thanks Jordy!" Lincoln said.
Two Pawn Puppets tried a sneak attack but they were shot from behind by Leni.
"Like, really? A sneak attack? So last decade." She said.
"Thanks, Sis!"
"So how are Shade and Drake doing?" Jordan asked.
"Not well." Lincoln said as they saw the fight.
They were both facing off against Shadowshot and King Check but it wasn't going well. Shade tried to do an overhead slash just as Drake came from below. Check blocked the overhead slash and moved him to where Drake was charging, causing them to clash.
"Pathetic!" King Check laughed as he fired his cannon. They were hit and sent back.
"Seriously?! You got in my way?! AGAIN?!" Drake yelled.
"I got knocked back!" Shade shot back as they got up and tried again.
"'Tis the definition of insanity to try this again! Puppet PAwns and Jynxers! Restrain and I shall finish them myself!" Check ordered as the puppet pawns and jynxers went to restrain the two.
Shade and Drake began to fight them off.
"Oh no! Guys, let's help them out!" Leni said as they began to draw their tornado blasters.
"Right!" Lincoln and Jordan said as they began to aim.
"Not this time!" Shadowshot said as he drew his revolvers and began to fire. The three soon began firing back
"Oh great(!) Just like one of those cop shows(!)" Lincoln yelled out as he began firing.
"How do you know about those?" Leni asked.
"Don't wanna talk about it." Lincoln answered.
Meanwhile, King Check was laughing as his staff glowed blue.
"HAHAHA! My second in command has done his duty ("I'm not your second in command!" Shadowshot yelled) now to get rid of you! Hope you have fun on the other side!"
"Teles Distanto!" King Check chanted as he fired the blast at the crowded rangers, causing them to disappear.
"OH NO!" Leni yelled.
"SHADE! DRAKE!" Jordan added
"You centurion cretin! What did you do?!" Lincoln yelled as he fired at King Check's staff.
"My staff! Oh, you cad! I shall-!" he didn't get to finish as he began to flash purple, going to one knee.
"Oh, surely you jest! Out of negergy already?! Time for a tactical retreat! We shall meet again! Come, my general and pawns! Fall back!" He declared as he and the rest of the pawns leapt into the portal.
Shadowshot saw them leap into the portal and collapsed as he rubbed his forehead, trying to soothe the headache he was getting
"What's wrong? Not wanting to retreat?" Jordan taunted.
"I'm just going to enjoy the silence. He is such an arrogant upstart." He grumbled, massaging his temple.
"Sounds like you got your hands full." Lincoln said as he lowered his blaster.
"You have no idea." Shadowshot grumbled.
"I do actually. I live with ten sisters." Lincoln said offhandly, causing him to look at the Orange Ranger in disbelief.
"You're joking. Right?"
"Nope. YOu already met one. The others are in town somewhere, doing who knows what."
Shadowshot just looked in disbelief.
"How are you not insane?"
Lincoln shrugged his shoulders.
"You get used to it after a while."
Soon, Shadowshot stood up and activated a portal.
"I'll head back. Hopefully, the others haven't killed my jinn while he is recharging." He said as he leapt inside.
When it closed, Lincoln quickly called Avias.
"Avias! We have a situation!"
"What happened?!"
"That Jinn Bruiser! He sent Drake and Shade somewhere!" Jordan added.
"This is bad. I'll have Motrix try and find where they are. Until then, you need to be prepared to defend the town when King Check comes back."
"Right!" They said as they demorphed.
"Let's head back home. Until then, we need to think of a plan." Lincoln said as they nodded in determination.
"Let's just hope those two will not let their egos clash." Lincoln said in an unsure tone
"Um…I'm sure that they will rather butt heads." She said in a confused tone.
Lincoln and Jordan just looked at her with a deadpanned look.
"Leni, I love you. But you can be rather dim sometimes." Lincoln spoke.
In a part of a forest.
The entire group of Jynxers, pawns and the two morphed rangers had landed in a heap. As soon as they got up, Shade and Drake decided to blast them all to finish them off.
"That takes care of that." Shade said as the two demorphed.
"Yeah. But where did that pompous centaur send us?" Drake said as he looked around.
"I think we are in the woods nearby. I have no idea where exactly." Shade commented.
"We need to let Avias know where we are."Drake said as he activated the communication on his morpher.
"Avias? You there? We need help." Drake said, only getting static.
"Avias? AVIAS!"
Shade shook his head.
"Signal must be too weak. We need to make our way out by foot." Shade said as he began to search for a path.
"This wouldn't have happened if you didn't get in my way!" Drake said as he glared at Shade.
"Oh, give it a rest will ya?!" Shade shot back.
The two then began to walk, arguing the whole way.
Temple of Darkness
"I managed to remove those Rangers from the picture! They were powerless against my army and I. And my number two was very skilled! Yes! I had chosen a wonderful general to fight for my cause!" KIng Check then laughed while Shadowshot, Hunterror, Umbra and Infectora just looked at him with extreme annoyance.
"This was a stupid idea," Shadowshot grumbled as he held his head in his hand.
"Does this guy ever shut up?" Hunterror groaned as he covered his ears.
"Unfortunately, no." Shadowshot answered
"OK, at this rate, I'm hoping the Rangers destroy him. His boasting is giving me a headache." Umbra moaned out as she went to bury her head somewhere.
"ENOUGH!" Incfectora roared as he caused a mini earthquake. He then stormed up to King Check who wasn't done boasting.
"You shut your mouth before I take that staff and ram it down your throat!" He said, grabbing King Check by the throat
"Of…course!" He rasped as he was let go.
"Now you are recharged, get out there and spread fear! And for your sake, do it without running your mouth!"
"Right boss!" He squeaked as he leapt into a portal.
Shadowshot decided to just sit where he was.
"You're not going?" Hunterror asked.
"No. I want to enjoy the silence."
Royal Woods High
Lincoln and Jordan were walking towards the lunch hall to meet up with Leni, both discussing the events of the other day.
"Can't believe that Check head sent both Shade and Drake to who knows where." Lincoln said as Jordan nodded her head.
"Yeah. The real question is where did he send them?" Jordan asked.
"My guess is some place where there cannot be any signal. I mean, we would've heard something from them by now." Lincoln concluded.
"Probably." Jordan agreed as they saw Leni waving to them.
"Hey, Leni." Lincoln greeted them as they sat down.
"So any luck?" Leni asked
"Nada." Jordan said as Leni's face went to a frown.
"Dang it. Where are they?" Leni said in concern
"Don't know. But until they come back, we need to hold off that Jinn." Lincoln spoke
"Not to mention, we can't form the Megazord formation until they learn to work together." Jordan added.
"But they fight like cats and dogs. You think they can do that?" Leni spoke in concern.
But before Lincoln could say anything, an explosion rang out, shaking the school.
"Oh no. Please don't tell me." Lincoln groaned.
"Rangers! Our least favourite centaur is back!" Motrix spoke
"What about Shade and Drake?" Lincoln asked.
"We still cannot find them! Get out there and hold them off!" He replied.
"On it!" Lincoln logged off.
The two girls nodded their heads and rushed out to where the attack was.
Back in the woods.
Both Shade and Drake were still walking through the woods. And right now, they were just panting, too exhausted to argue.
"So…any idea where we are?" Shade panted.
"No clue. But, I think we may be heading in the right direction." Drake answered
"How can you tell?" Shade questioned.
"I saw trees growing in one direction. They always lead north so we should be able to find a way out of those woods." He clarified to which Shade scoffed.
"You get that from a girl's cartoon?"
"No. Military academy. We learned how to follow nature there."
"Huh. Neat."
The two soon began to walk where they came across a clearing. Drake was about to clear it when he was pulled back.
"What are you doing?!" He hissed.
"Listen. This is too easy." Shade said as he flung a rock at an area when suddenly…
*SNAP!*
A trap shut and a voice rang.
"AW RIGHT! FINALLY!"
The two quickly ran off around the clearing to avoid whoever said it.
"How did you know there was a trap?" Drake asked.
"Empty clearings are like empty streets. Anything can be hidden." Shade clarified.
It was then they realised that they were sinking.
"Uhh…why are we going down?" Drake asked.
They looked down and saw why.
"QUICKSAND!" They yelled as they began struggling.
At Royal Woods plaza
"HA HA HA! RUN PEASANTS! RUN!"
King Check was running through with his pawn puppets and Jynxers as he began shooting from his rook cannon at the various buildings.
The Pawns had their blades out and began to strike many civilians.
"Such a shame my general can't be here. Oh well!" He said as he began to fire blasts from his staff.
"Hold it Jinn!"
King Check saw the morphed Rangers come towards him.
"So! You rebels will try again to usurp my kingdom?!"
"This isn't your kingdom. And you are no king!" Jordan proclaimed as she readied her claws.
"You dare?! That's it! I shall be rid of you and then continue my conquest!" King Check yelled as he began to fire his staff.
The Rangers rolled out of the way only to come across the horde of Pawn Puppets.
"Great…these guys. Let's take care of them then move onto the king." Lincoln said as he drew his Sparrow Scissors, switching them to blade form.
"Right!" The two girls said, with Leni brandishing her Swan Staff.
Back at the Forest
Shade and Drake were still trapped in the quicksand, struggling as they sank.
"Why didn't you notice the quicksand?!" Drake yelled.
"I was too busy trying to avoid that redneck loon!" Shade shot back.
"Oh trust a punk like you. You led us into a fine mess!"
"Oh, be quiet! We would've been on that redneck's wall!"
As they were arguing, the two began to sink faster, luckily they noticed
"Wait! We shouldn't be arguing right now! Any more and we'll sink faster." Drake said
"Right. We need to work together. So how do we get out of this jam?" Shade asked.
Looking around, he saw a vine near Shade's head.
"Grab that vine. We'll use it to pull ourselves out." Drake commanded as Shade nodded his head. He grabbed the vine and tossed it to Drake, who managed to grab it and pull himself out. He then snapped it off the branch to give to Shade.
"You hold on tight and I'll pull you out!" He said as he pulled with all his might. With the sound of mulch and wet paper, Shade was eased out of the quicksand. As soon as he felt movement in his legs, he quickly climbed out of the pit.
"Thanks. Guess we can work together after all." Shade said as he stood up.
"Yeah. Now all we need to do is get out of these woods." Drake said
"Shouldn't be a problem. Look." Shade said as he pointed to the exit.
The two quickly rushed out and came across the view back to town.
"We're out!" Drake cheered
"Yes! Quick, we need to let Avias know!" Shade said as Drake nodded his head, clicking his Morpher.
"Avias! It's Drake!" He said.
"Rangers! Thank goodness! Are you alright?!" Avias asked frantically.
"A little tired and dirty but OK." Drake answered.
"Good! I'm going to teleport you to where the others are! King Check is back and the others are facing him."
"We're on our way!" Drake said as the tornado came to transport them to the location.
Back with the Rangers, they were suddenly sent back, sprawling onto the ground as they slowly tried to get up.
"HAHAHA! YOU PEASANTS DARE FACE ME! I SHALL MAKE YOUR END SWIFT!" He said as King Check began charging his rook cannon.
"Oh, I hope Drake and Shade come soon." Leni said as they braced for the attack.
And like an angel answering their prayers…
"Hey, Your Royal Tragicness!"
Check was suddenly blasted by both Shade and Drake, wielding their blasters.
"Guys! You're OK!" Lincoln said in relief as they were helped up.
"Don't worry, little man! We had a little hike in the woods, but we're alright." Drake said
"So let's stop yacking and give this guy a royal butt whooping!" Shade said.
"IT'S MORPHING TIME!" They declared
(Morph Sequence: Drake)
The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky red.
Drake then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. He then flew into the through the red clouds, which outfitted him in a red wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white coves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground
When he landed, he stood up as a red hawk landed behind his head, forming a red helmet with bird like eyes and a pointed beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
Sending his right fist to the lower left, he then brings it into the form of a salute with his left foot behind his right.
"Red Ranger! Ready for take off!"

Shade then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. When he landed, he stood up as a black raven landed behind his head, forming a black helmet with bird like eyes and a pointed beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
He then slams a fist into his palm and cracks his neck before getting into a southpaw stance.
"Black Ranger! Ready for take off!"
King Check took a step back.
"Oh this isn't good."
"Darn right! Everyone! Rolecall!"
Drake then punched in the opposite direction before bringing his fists back then putting his right arm on his forehead and his left against his gut
"Disciplined as the Hawk! Avian Strike! Red Ranger!" Drake declared
Leni spun like a ballerina before bending backwards and spreading her arms outward.
"Graceful as the Swan! Avian Strike! Teal Ranger" LEni declared
Jordan punched the air several times before doing a spinning uppercut and landing on the ground, bringing her left arm back with the fingers pointing behind her and her right doing a chopping motion.
"Fast as the Falcon! Avian Strike! Yellow Ranger!" Jordan declared
Lincoln did a card draw before slamming his fist into his palm then bringing it forward while his hand became a claw.
"Creative as the Sparrow! Avian Strike! Orange Ranger!" Lincoln declared
Shade moved his right hand in front of his face to the right before slamming it into the ground and bringing his left behind him as he looked up.
"Mysterious as the Raven! Avian Strike! Black Ranger!" Shade declared
"Let the winds of combat cross over! As we spread our wings for battle!" Drake said.
"POWER RANGERS! AVIAN STRIKE!"
They posed as an explosion went off behind them.
"Now then let's do this! Viva la Revolution!" Lincoln said, drawing his saber and holding it high.
"Really?" Shade deadpanned.
"What? He acts like a tyrant king. It was fitting." Lincoln said with a shrug. Soon all the rangers charged forward.
"Jynxers! Pawn Puppets! Protect me!" He ordered as his puppet pawns moved forward while Jynxers rose up to attack.
Drake began to strike several of the Jynxer's knocking them down then blocking the attacks. He then struck with a left slash, knocking them down before blocking a pawn's sword. Whipping out his blaster, he shot it in the stomach before shooting the rest coming.
"AVIAN WEAPON! DESCEND FROM ABOVE!"
A stream of fire blasted from the sky as it surrounded Drake's hand. Pulling it out revealed a red katana with a black handle and hawk shaped hilt. Giving a few swings, he placed the blade over his shoulders.
"Hawk Katana!" Drake exclaimed
He held his Hawk Katana in his hand and soon began to swipe several pawns.
"Ranger takes pawn!"
Leni began to spin her spear around her body, the tip striking down each Jynxer that came close. A Puppet Pawn tried to attack but she lunged with her spear, sending it back. Soon, Jordan leapt off Leni's back as she dove with her claws, slashing several Puppets and Jynxers as they collapsed.
"Girl power baby!" Jordan said as she gave a thumbs up as she hi-fived Leni.
A few tried to charge when Jordan wasn't looking but a few blasts from Lincoln caught his attention.
"No worries, Jordy. Got your back." He said.
"Thanks."
With Shade, he had his blaster out and began doing all sorts of moves from rolling on the ground to back flipping off a bench before shooting more Jynxers. He was then surrounded from all sides.
"OK, let's go for the higher levels." He held his hand out to the sky.
"AVIAN WEAPON! DESCEND FROM ABOVE!"
A stream of shadow energy descended from the sky, surrounding Shade's hand. When he pulled it out, it revealed a 7ft long scythe with a black handle and a curved blade shaped like a raven's beak which had a red gem near the top corner. Swinging it below, he placed the weapon behind his back, crouching down.
"Raven Scythe!" Shade exclaimed.
He had his scythe ready and began to swing it, the blade striking several as they tried to charge. When the last one tried to charge from behind, Shade just drove the handle into its gut, not bothering to look as it crumpled to the ground.
"Now that's done. Time to overthrow a wannabe king." He said as he and Drake charged.
"My men! You charlatans!" He roared as King Check began firing his cannon. Drake blocked them with his katana, while Shade struck back with his scythe.
"Do you really think you can take a king?!" King Check laughed as he struggled against Shade's scythe with his staff.
"Oh give it a rest with the king speech! It is annoying!" He said as he pushed back, then he kicked the staff into the air. He lowered to allow Drake to leap up and come down with his katana, cutting through the staff and slashing the centaur.
"No, My staff!" He yelled. "Why you!" He then began to fire as the two rolled out of the way.
"Shade! You take him from the front! I'll strike from behind!" Drake ordered.
"Right!" Shade responded as he began to spin his scythe as he began to swing the blade at King Check who blocked each strike or swerved out of the blade's path. The centaur was so busy blocking and dodging he didn't notice Drake coming from behind and slash him several times. The strikes allowed Shade to strike the front, causing sparks to fly.
"Nice one!" Drake said as they slapped hands.
"Yep. Now let's end this!" Shade said as he took out his raven head. Soon the ranger's took out their own bird heads and held them to the sky.
"VENTUS CANNON! AIR FORMATION!"
The five bird heads flew and spun at high speeds, forming the large blaster.
SHade then locked his bird head inside.
"They say Ravens are omens. Well, looks like you are in for a bad time." He remarked as they locked on target
King Check tried to glare but he was shaking.
"No! You can't do this to me!"
"Can, will, and doing it." Drake spoke as Shade pressed the trigger.
"AIR STRIKE!"
A black raven shot out to King Check, which spun around then dive-bombed the centaur with black energy. Soon King Check began to spark
"GRAAGH! THAT'S A COUP DE TAT!" He roared as he fell then exploded, while the rangers turned their backs.
Back at the temple.
"You're going to resurrect him, aren't you?" Umbra asked Infectora with a grimace. Infectora had the same look as well as he felt his energy build up
"Unfortunately…GIGANTE GEYSER!" He roared as he slammed the ground, a pillar of dark energy rose from under King Check, making him giant
"This game is not over yet, Rangers!" He roared as he towered above them.
"Oh great. Now he's big, so will be his ego." Shade groaned.
"Let's just finish him off." Drake groaned
"And don't worry. You have access to the Megazord!" Avias said.
"Well then…shall we?" Lincoln said in a giddy tone.
"AVIAN SPIRITS! FLY OUT!"
The avian zords soon materialised as the Rangers were scooped up and landed into the cockpits.
"So how do we form the Megazord?" Drake asked.
"Say 'Avian Zords! Fly as One!"
"OK, you heard the big bird." Drake said.
"AVIAN ZORDS! FLY AS ONE!"
Soon all of the zords began to fly in an arrow formation. The red hawk's head jerked back as it folded its legs and wings inside, a face popping from inside the hawk's head. Next was the black raven as it attached to the back and let its wings spread out. Soon the yellow falcon swooped from below and extended its legs and lowered his head to join at the bottom to form the legs. The orange sparrow and green swan soon folded its limbs to form the two arms. The orange was a needle while the green was like a blade.
The megazord soon flew as a background of a view above the clouds was shown.
"TENGU MEGAZORD!"
Now all of the rangers were in the same cockpit, seated in pilot seats with a wheel at the front.
"Now this is some amazing piece of hardware!" Shade said, hands on the wheel.
"OH MY GOD! MEGAZORD! Forgive me if I let out a fanboy squeal!" Lincoln said as he shook with joy.
"Don't worry, Linky. We understand." Leni said
"Now then…shall we?" Drake said as they saw Check rush towards them with his staff.
"'Tis a battle between giants! Less blabber and take your defeats like soldiers!" He said.
"Let's try this puppy out!" Jordan said as they moved forward and blocked the strike before kicking him back.
"I wonder if this thing has a weapon or something…" Shade muttered as he moved the wheel.
The megazord then took a large spear from behind.
"Found it! We have a Sky Spear!" Shade announced.
"Great work! Now let's work together and kick this guy off the throne for good!"
With precise movements, they began to clash the staff with the spear, then let loose a lunge that send him back.
"BAH! TIME FOR A RANGED ATTACK!" King Check yelled as he began to fire from his cannon.
The megazord moved forward as it took the bullets, but sparks flew. This caused a quake in the cockpit.
"Dang! Any ranged weapons?!" Jordan asked as she tried to stabilised herself.
"Yeah! Here!' Leni said as she pressed a button. The swan's mouth opened. 'Firing Wave Blaster!" She said as the mouth began to fire blasts of water against King Check.
"GRAH! THAT'S CHEATING!"
"It's called levelling the playing field, You Royal Joke!' Shade yelled before turning to Drake.
'Can we just whack this guy now?" He asked.
"Right. Activating the final strike!"
All of the rangers pulled the levers down, which allowed the megazord to take flight. As soon as they reached the highest point, the robot took the spear in hand, pointing it at the jinn.
"POWER OF THE SKY!"
Soon the spear began to glow blue as it extended its point. The megazord brought its arm back, ready to throw.
"TENGU MEGAZORD! FINAL STRIKE!"
The megazord threw the spear with all it might, punching through the Jinn's body as it landed on the other side. It landed behind King Check as it hoisted the spear and placed it behind its shoulder.
"ARGH! CHECKMATE!" King Check yelled in agony as he collapsed onto his knees and flopped to the side.
"ALRIGHT! WE DID IT!" Lincoln yelled as everyone cheered in victory.
Drake decided to make the call.
"The winds have calmed! Avian Rangers, we have landed a victory!"
At the park, the five were walking and talking.
"You seriously got transported to the woods?!" Leni gasped.
"Yep. Along with some Jynxers and those Pawns." Drake confirmed.
"Let me tell you, this guy knows his stuff about nature." Shade said as he wrapped his arm around his shoulder.
"Yep, this guy has some killer instincts." Drake also complimented.
"Looks like you two are getting along." Jordan said with a smirk while holding Lincoln's hand.
"Oh yeah!" The two boys said.
"Say, why don't we try and test it. Two on two with some soccer?" Lincoln suggested as he picked up a soccer ball.
"Where did you get that?" Leni asked.
"Borrowed it from Lynn." He answered.
"You're on!" Shade said as he kicked the ball and began dribbling with Drake following.
"Can't let them have all the fun!" Jordan said as the others also chased after them.
The day ended as the five Rangers started their little game.
Back at the temple.
"Well, King Check was a disaster but we did get two things out of it." Shadowshot spoke to Infectora.
"What are they?" He demanded.
"We won't hear him blabber on and on for one." He said and Infectora had to agree.
"And the other?"
Shadowshot snapped his fingers as the Jynxers brought over the Pawn Puppets of King Check.
"King Check's soldiers will be useful to our army." He said and Infectora chuckled.
"Excellent. Get them reinforced in the dark pools. They will need the power up and when the time is right, we'll send them to the rangers" He chuckled malevelontly as the Jynxers took them away

Next Time: Drake, Shade and Lincoln have a guys night. But It is soon interrupted by Hunterror with a Jinn ready to hammer them into the pavement.
Now edits. First was extending the fight scene in the beginning and changing the name Polari to Shadowshot.
Next was changing the name of the Megazord to the Tengu Megazord
Finally, Infectora's army now has more soldiers.
Also I changed the title
