Episode 7 - A Range Of Memories
Summary: The rangers all meet five mysterious individuals and befriend them. What they don't know is the morphenomenal secret they are hiding and they may need it against a Jinn that can not only look into their memories but take them away
A Jynxer went flying into a wall.
The cause? Shade throwing it to the wall.
"Here's your flying lesson, prick!" He yelled before running back to the rest.
The rest of the unmorphed Rangers were busy battling out against a squad of Jynxers that came from behind the school, all of them were dressed in their temple gear of shirts, leather jackets and gloves and they began fighting them off.
Drake had blocked a swipe with his arms before grabbing one then bringing him towards him and kicking him back. He then did a cartwheel before palm striking another in the chest then kicking another behind him. He then sweeped one coming towards him before doing a tornado kick to two at the same time.
"Like knocking down fools back home." He said as he then held one in an arm lock before sending him to face him and Drake kicked it back.
Leni bent down to dodge two strikes before slamming their heads together then bringing one forward for a back hand strike. She then backflipped away then flipped one over her shoulder before kicking it to another. She then landed on the floor on her hands, spinning like a top, where she struck one with her kicks. She went back up as one leapt in front of her snarling.
"EEK!" She yelled as she pushed it hard into the giant bin behind it.
"That works too." She said before going back
Jordan was rushing in between a lot of Jynxers before grabbing a branch which she used as a makeshift club to parry the daggers before she flipped to the side and swung with the club with all her might, knocking three out but the club splintered.
Lincoln spun with an axle kick, knocking one down. He then kicked three times to another before flipping from the Jynxer's leg before kicking it away. He then grabbed one and rolled onto his back then flipped it over before rushing forward with a superman punch to one then an elbow to another behind him and kicking one in the gut.
"Man, now I know why Lynn loves martial arts." He said as he dusted his hands.
Shade had slammed his fist into the gut of one he was holding before punching it away with a fist to the throat, making it stagger as it fell. Another was caught in a headlock as he was then thrown into another behind him. He then grabbed one by the shoulders and headbutted him then was flung to the side. He slid under one's legs then sweeped its legs, knocking him onto the before he was grabbed from behind. Shade just backed up into the wall, colliding with it and causing the Jynxer to fall.
"Jynxers. Just like punks in the hood." He remarked
Soon, Drake held one against the wall.
"So, you guys heard the news about an up and coming director coming to Royal Woods?" He asked his friends before slamming it a few times against it then slamming his fist down, knocking it out.
Shade held one in a backbreaker hold, adding his two scents
"Yeah, apparently he is doing an action flick based on ninjas or something. I don't know much about the details!" he added, before falling backwards, crushing the Jynxer under him.
"I just hope it's better than that Ace Savvy rubbish that was made by those two hacks!" Jordan added as she held one in a leg lock then threw it to another charging Jynxer with all her might.
"Besides, Leni knows ALL about it." She said as she gave the blonde girl a look.
"Oh, don't remind me about that, please! I was so eager about being in that stupid film, that I didn't even realise what a mess it was!" Leni cried in embarrassment as she grabbed a bin lid and slammed it onto the head of one before blocking a dagger with it. One was about to sneak behind Jordan, but Leni kicked the Jynxer she was fighting and threw the bin lid like a frisbee, knocking it out. Jordan turned around and saw it.
"Thanks." She said as Leni nodded.
"I know that. So glad I decided that wanting to go for that film wasn't worth it. But I had no clue it would ruin the Ace Savvy franchise!" Lincoln added his two cents, locking one Jynxer to a bike rail before slamming its head onto it.
Shade and Drake tag-teamed one, slamming their fists into its gut before launching it away.
"Was it that bad?" Drake asked.
Jordan had rushed into one, tackling it into the gate and walked up to the boys.
"Trust me. Politics and superhero movies do NOT mix. And unfortunately, Lincoln's sisters had the honour of being the main stars." Jordan said as they stared at Leni, who had just done a spin kick to a final Jynxer.
"Please. I just said I don't wanna be reminded about it!" She whined.
Lincoln had clotheslined one from above as he went back to them.
"Let's just say, it was a dark era for Ace Savvy." Lincoln added, shivering at the memory.
Soon they all gathered as more Jynxers came.
"Shall we just end these guys?" Drake asked as they touched their morphers, bringing out their blasters
"TORNADO BLASTERS! FIRE!" They yelled and fired away at the remaining Jynxers.
"That takes care of that." Drake said, holstering his blaster.
"Let's go and see if anyone is in trouble." Lincoln said as they went in different directions, unaware of five people watching.
One of them said this.
"That was interesting."
"Those blasters can only come from one place. A morpher" Another said
"Guess we know where that morphin energy came from." A female voice added
"Should we go to them?" One more asked the first
"Separately. Don't want to overwhelm them." The leader replied
Meanwhile, at the Royal Woods Hospital, several doctors were in the Brain Scan ward checking off the various equipment, specifically the main unit. A Philips 1.5 Tesla MRI Scanner was going through a maintenance check.
"OK, looks like there aren't any troubles with the software. Better turn it off for the night." The maintenance man said as he switched the machine off and left the room. However, a portal opened and Shadowshot, Hunterror and Umbra came out.
"Hopefully those Jynxers will buy us some time." Shadowshot said as he readied the pentagram.
"So why are we here?" Hunterror asked as he kept watch.
"The Rangers are getting stronger, but they are predictable. We'll create a jinn that will allow us to predict their moves and counter them, making it easier for us to destroy them." Shadowshot explained.
"Hurry up and infect the machine! Someone may come!" Umbra hissed, hands on her katanas.
"OK!" Shadowshot said, placing it on the side of the machine, the pentagram entering and covering it in purple, malevolent magic. Two larger pentagrams appeared below as it was then surrounded in a purple sphere. What came out was a 5ft 9inch white robotic figure with a blue dome and rectangle on its chest. On the arms were two blue pads and black holes for arms. It also had a single red eye.
"Mindscanner! Operational!" It spoke in a robotic voice.
"Perfect! Guys! Let's blow this joint!" Shadowshot proclaimed.
Suddenly, the doors blew off, shocking everyone. Out came the three Jinn generals and Mindscanner.
"HALT!" One of two security guards said as they had their hands on their holsters
"Mindscanner? If you please." Umbra said with a chuckle.
"Affirmative! Brain Drain! Engage!" Mindscanner said as the lights on his arms glowed and he fired a white beam at two security guards, taking their energy and leaving them unconscious.
"Perfect. Come! We have Rangers to drain!" Shadowshot said as they left the building. All the while many doctors and staff had their brains drained.
Drake was busy looking at the WW2 exhibit in a local museum, seeing the various artefacts and paintings. Being a military kid meant he was interested in the various wars and the history behind it.
"Interested in war exhibits, huh?" A voice said,
Turning around, he saw a man in his late 20s beside him with neatly combed, blonde hair and blue eyes. He had fairly good muscle shown by the long sleeved red t-shirt, blue jeans and black boots. He was also looking at the exhibits.
"Yeah. I used to study at a military academy. Was one of the top students but I had to move. I can say that this place is alright." Drake said.
"I can tell. You had some adventures didn't you?" The man said.
"Yeah.' He then realised something. 'Oh, I forgot to mention. Drake Anders." He said holding a hand out.
"Carter Grayson." the man replied, shaking his hand and eyeing his morpher. Drake's eyes widened at the name
"Wait, I heard a bit about you. You're part of the American State of Defense, aren't you. One of the only ones willing to do what's right."
"That's right. And I can sense the same spirit from you. Military kid, huh?" he added.
"Yeah. Dad was a captain for the US Army. However, he's MIA." He said with a despondent look.
Carter raised his eyebrow.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yeah. Hadn't seen him in six years. I know he's alive but no response."
"Hey, have hope. Without it, things won't be brighter." Carter said, placing a hand on his shoulder.
Drake smiled but then, his morpher beeped.
"Um, excuse me.' He said with a nervous grin before whispering harshly. 'What?"
"Jinn Bruiser in the city square!" Mortrix informed him
"Sorry Mr. Grayson. I gotta go." Drake said before rushing off. Carter simply smiled at the teen.
Leni was currently walking down the street with a happy-go-lucky look on her face when she came across the set of a movie.
"OMGosh! The movie set is in town!" she said as she saw the lead actor fight against several people dressed in suits. They seemed to move like ninjas all the while the director watched on.
He was around 27 and of Japanese descent with spiky black hair and brown eyes, dressed in a white t-shirt under a blue checked T-shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
"And cut! Nice one, everybody! Take a break! We'll resume in a bit." The man said before turning to see Leni watching with awe.
"Um…can I help you?" He asked.
"Oh sorry! I saw the set. I was curious to see." Leni spoke in an embarrassed manner.
"Oh, it's alright. Always nice to see movie fans." The man said with a grin.
"Dax Lo." He said as he shook her hand.
"Leni Loud."
"So, you like movies?" He asked.
"Yeah! Romantic movies are my favourite!" She said with a squeal.
Suddenly, Leni's morpher beeped, making her jump.
"Excuse me." She said with a nervous smile, going to the side. 'Yeah?" she asked.
"Jinn Bruiser in the city square!" Mortrix said
"Hey, I gotta go! Let me know if I can get exclusive tickets!" She said before running off.
Dax stood there with a smirk before heading back.
Jordan was in the Gym, flinging the ball at the target to the wall and dodge when it rebound. Occasionally, she would catch it. When the ball rebounded, it flew right behind her.
It was then caught by a girl aged 20. She was of Hispanic descent with curly black hair and brown eyes. She wore a green sweatshirt and black shorts plus white shoes.
"Nice dodge." she spoke in a cool tone.
"Thanks." She said as she took the ball back.
"You need someone to train?" She asked.
"Yeah! What's your name, anyways?" Jordan asked.
"Izzy Garcia." She said as she threw the ball. Jordan saw this and flipped away to dodge the ball. Izzy smirked and began to launch the ball at high speed but Jordan was quick to dodge, even catching the ball sometimes.
"Man, you have skills for days!" Izzy complimented.
"Thanks! I love dodgeball. It's great for easing aggression." Jordan said just as Izzy threw the ball.
Suddenly, a beeping caught her attention as Jordan narrowly dodged the attack.
"Now not a good time, Mortrix!" she hissed
"Jinn Bruiser in the city square! Get going!" he responded, making her eyes widen.
"Oh nuts! Sorry, I gotta go!" Jordan said as she rushed off. Izzy simply put the ball down and smiled a bit.
Lincoln was at the comic book store. He hadn't been there in a while and began browsing the shelves for the latest comics. His eyes caught on something.
"No way is that…?!" he said but then he was interrupted by another excited voice.
"Ace Savvy Issue #13! The Battle of the Black Cat of Bad Luck, NekoMancer! The one where Ace learns how to turn his luck around!"
Turning around he saw a 22-year-old male with pale skin with freckles, spiky orange hair and blue eyes with a yellow t-shirt that had a silhouette of a superhero with bright red letters, blue jeans and white sneakers.
"No way! You're an Ace Savvy fan?!" Lincoln spoke eagerly.
"More like a fan of superheroes in general. I spent a fortune on comics, trading cards and action figures!"
"Really?!" He spoke eagerly.
"Yeah! By the way, Chip Thorn. Master of hero comics and big time superhero fan." Then man said with a dramatic bow
"Lincoln Loud. Comic book fan and budding motocross racer." He said.
"Say, what other superheroes do you like?" Chip asked.
"Mainly the ones that save the day with a smile. I like to cosplay as one."
"Really?" he said with a smirk.
"Yeah. It's great fun." Lincoln said with a grin.
"Yeah. I remember doing that. Pinned a pillowcase to my back." He said.
"Really? When was this?" He asked.
"Last week." Chip answered as they chuckled.
The two then fistbumped.
Suddenly, screams rang through the area just as his morpher beeped.
"Oh nuts, I gotta roll! Later! We need to meet up at the next convention!" He said as he raced off.
"See you later, fellow ranger." Chip said as he went back to browsing the comics.
Shade meanwhile was at a bare wall, spray paint in hand. Whistling, he began to spray the content on the wall, moving at a rhythm as he began to spray paint a picture. He then grabbed another can and started to blend the colours to create a grim reaper like picture.
"You know, you should use some silver paint if you want to get the scythe right." a voice said.
Shade turned and saw a man aged 25 with short, black hair and brown eyes plus tanned skin. He was dressed in a white dress-shirt, brown slacks and shoes.
"Oh? You know a lot about art?" He questioned.
"Hey, trust me. I do. I actually did some when I was young. Try it." He encouraged. Shade just shrugged and did it, connecting the silver to the brown staff of his creation
He then whistled.
"Nice. You were right." He said as he stepped back to take a picture.
"Hey, told ya. Old pro." He said.
"Say, what's your name anyways?" Shade asked.
"Trent Hernandez." he said and Shade nearly lost his grip on the can
"Trent Hernandez, the creator of the street style art collection?" He said in disbelief.
"Yep."
"Dude, I am your biggest fan! You're artwork is a great inspiration to me!" HE said like a fan boy.
"Hey, I get around."
Before Shade could continue, his morpher beeped.
"Do'h!' he grumbled as he spoke into it. 'This better be important!"
"Jinn Bruiser in the city square!" Mortrix said
"And it is.' He then turned to Trent. 'Hey, it's great to meet you but I gotta roll!" He said as he ran off, grabbing his supplies with him.
Trent smiled as he watched him go.
Mindscanner and an army of Jynxers were busy terrorising the people, Mindscanner then blasted at several people, draining their brains and knocking them out.
"Memory level. 30%." He said mechanically.
"Nice one Mindscanner. Here are some more running." Shadowshot said as he pointed his revolver and blasted, sending them his way. Mindscanner then blasted his right arm, taking more memories and knocking out targets.
"Not so fast!" five voices spoke at the same time.
Turning around, the five rangers stood in front of him and the Jinns.
"Confirmed target. Rangers. Proceeding with extracting memories."
"Extract this. IT'S MORPHIN TIME!" Drake said as they activated their morphers, pressing the eyes for the wings to shoot out.
They all crossed their wrists in front of them.
"AVIAN STRIKE!"
They brought them to their hips before pointing two fingers to the sky.
"IT'S TIME TO FLY!"
They all morphed into their Ranger suits and drew their sabers.
"QUILL SABERS!" they yelled as they rushed forward against the charging Jynxers and Mindscanner.
All of the rangers clashed their sabers against the Jynxers knocking them back. Drake slashed one before backing away and doing a wall flip above two more, then cut them down. More came and he rushed with his saber out.
Leni was weaving out of the blades of Jynxers, sweeping their legs and kicking them away. She blocked one with her saber then pushed kicked it away before grabbing one and throwing it to one side as she then slashed another. She backed away and with one slash, took down five for the price of one.
Jordan was weaving out of Mindscanner's arms, trying to strike his body but he kept blocking the attacks.
"Mind Scan."
The eye glowed red and soon saw her next strike, raising his arm before sending flying via a punch to the gut.
"Proceeding to retrieve memories." He said but Jordan took out her Tornado Blaster, blasting his chest to disorient him, then running off.
"Guys, we may need to be careful. This guy predicted my move." Jordan said.
"Right." Drake said as he then took out his blaster. The eye scanned again and Mindscanner rolled to the side, firing a laser from his wrist, sending the ranger back.
Lincoln had sheathed his saber and took out his blaster and began to fire away at any Jynxer that came his way. When one got close, he kicked it in the face to send it flying before shooting another. He then turned to Mindscanner.
"OK, let me have a shot!"
Mindscanner scanned his mind again and saw Lincoln scraping the sword on the ground for an upward strike. He stepped back just as Lincoln struck and kicked him back.
"OK…That didn't work." he groaned as he stood up
Shade had swung his saber wildly, catching any Jynxer that was in his way. One went to slash but Shade grabbed its wrist and moved it back before throwing it to a group.
"OK, time for the boss!" He said as he yelled, diving down. But the eye scanned him and saw the move coming
"Firing blast." He droned as he shot a beam at his chest, sending him back to the rest of the rangers.
"Dammit! I thought that would work!" He yelled in annoyance as he was helped up.
Soon they gathered in front of Mindscanner, who had his arm cannons primed.
"Diagnosis. Rangers are dangerous. Proceed to eliminate." he said as he primed the cannons.
"Be careful guys. When he fires, move out of the way." Drake ordered.
"Then what?!" Lincoln asked.
"Well, when I figure that part out, I'll let you know." Drake snapped at him.
But before he could fire, he was struck by a blur, which slashed many times and sent him flying.
"Woah!"
"What the hell?!"
"Who did that?!"
"Where did he come from?!"
"Who's the speed demon?!"
What they saw shocked them. A white figure with black stripes and an over-the-top triangular defender, white boots and a white helmet with a black mohawk and a red visor, holding a small dagger.
"You remember that?" He said in a cocky tone.
"Analysing. Unable to recognise." Mindscanner spoke in a confused tone. And he wasn't the only one.
"What the?! Who's he?!" Hunterror roared in disbelief.
"I don't like this…" Shadowshot spoke.
Mindscanner then tried to rush but was then blasted by lightning. Turning around, they saw another person in yellow with black stripes, a golden belt, cape, a helmet with a garuda on the front, holding a staff.
"Halt, you mechanical menace!" He spoke in a heroic tone.
"Another one?!" Lincoln shouted.
"We got two Rangers we have no clue about?" Drake added.
"Make that three!" Leni said as she pointed upward.
Diving down was a guy in blue with silver armbands and a silver buckle, a blaster holsted to the side and a helmet with a metal grill and black visor. He was holding a gauntlet shaped like a jet turbine
"Drive Vortex!" He yelled as he blasted wind at Mindscanner.
"OK, where did this guy come from?" Jordan had to ask.
"Initiate combat protocols! Drain Laser!" Mindscanner beeped as he charged his cannons.
The Rangers braced themselves but suddenly, a female voice was heard.
"Now this time, you hunk of junk!"
A hand shot forward and grabbed Mindscanner's shoulder. Then a figure dashed to him, stabbing with a red, jagged sword that had a dino jaw for a hilt.
The figure? A girl in green with a black triangle down the side and a gold and silver gauntlet around her left arm. Her helmet was green with a visor shaped like teeth.
"What? No witty comeback?" She snarked.
"OK, now there's four?! Why not add another while you're at it?!" Umbra yelled in annoyance.
"With pleasure."
They were then blessed by a figure in a red suit with white triangles, white gloves and boots, a golden belt with a holster and a red helmet with a shield for a visor. He was holding a red pistol before he holstered it.
"I would recommend you run." He spoke in a calm tone.
"Another one?!" Umbra shrieked.
"You just had to tempt fate." Hunterror grumbled.
Soon the man in red leapt up and slammed a foot onto Mindscanner's back.
"Now then, we can do this the easy way or the hard way." He said to which the blue replied.
"Ahh, a classic movie line!" He said, aiming his gauntlet.
However, Mindscanner soon flashed purple and collapsed.
"Error! Low on charge! Must recharge!" He said as a portal opened and he leapt inside.
The Jinn Generals were there as well and quickly entered.
"Infectora is not going to be happy." Shadowshot grumbled as they leapt inside.
Meanwhile, the five strange rangers turned to the Avian Strike rangers, silent.
"Uh, thanks for the help?" Drake said in a low voice.
"Drop the act, Anders. I know it's you." The red spoke.
"What?! How did you know it's me?!" He exclaimed.
"And I know you are Leni." The blue one said, making her gasp.
"Yellow is Jordan from those quick moves." Jordan had to step back in shock.
"My fellow comic book geek, Lincoln is the orange." The yellow one said as he had to stumble.
"And the black one is Shade." THe man in white spoke.
"OK. That is freaky." Shade said.
"How do you know us?" Drake asked.
Suddenly, they de-morphed. The Avian Ranger's eyes widened
It was Carter, Dax, Izzy, Chip and Trent.
"You really think we wouldn't recognise new Rangers?" Carter said with a smile.
The Avian Rangers were shocked as they demorphed.
"You guys are also Rangers?" Lincoln spoke in a giddy tone.
"Technically, we're freelance." Dax said.
Drake then decided to make a call.
"Avias, send us up. We have some guests." He said as the tornado came to pick the two groups up to the temple.
Back at the dark Temple, Infectora was steamed. Magic was wafting everywhere as he threw the four Jinns to the floor. He held his glaive menacingly and pointed the blade at them.
"You mean to tell me that there are more POWER RANGERS IN THE AREA?!" He roared.
"Boss, we were shocked as well! We didn't think more Rangers would show up!" Hunterror tried to explain but it didn't work as he was picked up and thrown to the side
"I DON'T WANT TO HEAR EXCUSES! AS SOON AS MINDSCANNER IS RE-CHARGED, GO OUT THERE AND TAKE THOSE RANGERS DOWN!"
"Right!" they yelled as they approached Mindscanner who was sitting down, with a dimmed eye.
"Converging data. Unknown Rangers. Commence strategies to counter." He droned as the jinn beeped.
Back at the temple, the five veteran rangers were busy looking around the temple in awe.
"Wow! This has an Indiana Jones vibe to it!" Dax said with a grin.
"I know! Like a mystic dungeon!" CHip added.
"Guys, stay focused!" Carter said as the Avian Rangers came out with their mentors.
"So, these are the other Rangers you were talking about?" Windform asked with his arms crossed.
"Yeah. They helped us a lot with that Bruiser." Drake said as they showed them.
"Greetings. I am Avias. Beast Guard of the Sky Temple and keeper of the Avian Spirits. These are Mortrix and Windform."
Carter stepped forward.
"Nice to meet you, sir. Carter Grayson, Lightspeed Rescue, Red Ranger." He introduced himself.
"Hi! Dax Lo, Blue Ranger for Operation Overdrive!" Dax said in an excited voice.
"Sup. Dino Fury Green Ranger, Izzy Garcia." Izzy said in a casual way
"Name's Chip Thorn, Yellow Mystic Force Ranger, hi, how you doing?" Chip said as he held out a hand.
"And I'm Trent Hernandez, Dino Thunder White Ranger." Trent said in a formal manner.
"It's good to meet you. Though, I do wonder why other Rangers are here. In fact, I was unaware of there being other Rangers at all."
"Really?" Carter said with a raised brow.
"I was busy getting the temple fixed, so the realm below didn't take priority. I had heard tales of demons and monsters running amok but I paid them no heed."
"And I always thought they were just comic book lore." Lincoln added his own two cents.
"Trust us. There are other Rangers. You guys may not know this, but you are connected to us in this way." Izzy said.
"That's right. The day you became rangers, you entered a whole, new world." Trent added.
"In fact, we have a special database for you to look at." Carter said, handing a drive to Mortrix.
"OK, let's see what we can find." He said, inserting it into the computer. Immediately, many files with lightning bolts on them showed.
"Woah…" All five looked at them in awe.
"The Ranger Database. All information about the past teams are on there." Carter said.
"Well then, the three of us will look through these files. Rangers, why don't you meet with the veterans and get some lessons from them." Avias instructed
Soon, the veterans began to explore the area with the new Avian Rangers
Drake had met up with Carter who was looking through the monitors in hopes of catching the Jinn Bruiser when Drake showed up.
"So, how do you like the temple?" Drake asked.
"It's a lovely sight. Every Ranger base has its own aesthetic, I mean the AquaBase was wide and had a lot of gear. But I am pretty sure that isn't why you're here." Carter said with a grin.
"Yeah. Just, back in my old school we learned about you. You never failed to put the lives of others at safety and would make sure everyone is alright. I never thought that someone in a high position is a Power Ranger." Drake confessed.
"Eh. It's more freelance. A lot of Rangers retired from life but sometimes, things will always drag us back into the fold." Carter said.
"REally?" Drake asked curiously.
"Yep. I was a fireman before I became a Ranger. I don't regret it and I learned a lot. All I can tell you is sometimes you need to think with your head and not your heart as some decisions are never easy."
Drake looked interested and confused by that lesson.
"Anyways, you wanna help? We need to see if that thing isn't ready to make an attack." Carter said as Drake joined him in searching.
Dax was currently taking photos of the temple.
"Wow! This will be some good inspiration for the film!" He said eagerly.
"Really?" Leni asked as he approached him.
"Yeah! This will skyrocket the quality of the film! Say, do you have any experience with films?" Dax asked.
Leni just looked embarrassed.
"I did star in a film. It…didn't end well." She said nervously.
"Let me guess. Too many clashing egos?" He said with a smirk.
"How'd you guess?" Leni said.
"It's a thing with films. Too many divas or rubbish directors. Piece of advice. Fame is fleeting. NEVER let it rule you." He said seriously before he went back to taking photos.
Leni thought about it. He did have a point. But first…
"Say, you wanna see another part of the temple?" She asked.
"Do I?!" Dax said excitedly as the two went on a tour.
Izzy was busy on the obstacle course, dodging flying projectiles with Jordan as they moved in sync to dodge the oncoming projectiles.
"Man, that was some workout! You got skills kid!" Izzy spoke in a complimentary tone.
"Thanks! Dodgeball practice really helps!" Jordan added.
"Still, how are you handling this? I mean, you're just a kid." Izzy said as she grabbed a water bottle.
"Honestly, it's kind of surreal. Only reason I joined was because I didn't want to leave my boyfriend in this." She confessed.
"You mean the white-haired kid?" Izzy said as Jordan blushed with a smile.
"Yeah. He's been good to me." Jordan spoke with a shy smile.
"Hey, I know how you feel. My girlfriend back home helps make running track all worthwhile. All I can say is sometimes you need the right motivation to do what you love." Izzy said and soon the two went back to crank up the settings.
Lincoln and Chip were busy having a chat about the life of a Ranger.
"So, is life as a Ranger all that is cracked up to be?" Chip asked the young kid.
"Yeah! It's like all of my time as playing superhero came to life! And I'm a Power Ranger too! I always thought that they were actors or make-believe! I didn't think they were real!" He said in a giddy tone.
"Oh yeah! Trust me, I went through the same thing as you did! It was a dream! But never forget this rule: Everything has two sides. Sometimes the life of a hero…" Chip began but Lincoln cut him off.
"...Can suck sometimes. I read enough comics to know that." He said as they two chuckled.
Finally, Shade was strolling the temple grounds when he saw Trent doing some sketches on his pad.
"Enjoying the view?" He said as he snuck up behind him, shocking him.
"Woah! How'd you do that?!" Trent exclaimed as he dropped his pencil.
"It's a talent. Still, cannot believe a big time artist is a Ranger." Shade admitted.
"Hey, it wasn't all that. First time I became a Ranger, well I had a bit of a phase of going berserk." Trent also admitted.
Shade raised a brow in curiosity.
"How come?"
"Back then, my powers were messing with my mind and I couldn't control what was happening. If it weren't for my friends, the world would've been Dino City."
"Yeah…" Shade said in a low tone.
"What's wrong?" Trent asked.
"Nothing. Just…I'm not really used to working with others. I'm getting there but I've been fighting on my own for the past few years. Being on a team is kind of a strange experience."
Trent nodded in understanding.
"Hey, you want my advice? Don't push them away. Your friends will be there at your beck and call if you need them." He said as he went back to drawing, leaving Shade alone to think.
Suddenly, the rangers were called to the temple grounds.
"RANGERS! THE JINN BRUISER IS BACK WITH A HORDE OF JYNXERS AND THE JINN GENERALS!" Avias yelled.
Soon the Avian Rangers saw the mayhem down below and were prepared to go down.
"Hold it!" Carter said as they stopped to look at the five
"Need a hand?" He asked.
The avian rangers smiled.
"HA! HA! HA! RUN MY PREY!" Hunterror roared as he began firing his shotgun at the scared civilians.
"Look at them run!" Umbra cackled as she sliced away with her katanas
"All that fear will be perfect for the boss!" Shadowshot exclaimed as he fired from his revolvers while several Jynxers began to chase people down.
Mindscanner began to blast away and siphon away memories from people, knocking them out.
"Hey, Tin can!"
All of the jinns turned to see ten unmorphed rangers.
"Whatever you're planning on doing, it stops now!" Carter said.
"Aw, how cute! Ten little lambs coming to the slaughter! How well can you do against this?!" Hunterror exclaimed as Mindscanner and the Jynxers came to the general's side.
"And we have some other guys to have fun with as well! Puppet Pawns!" Umbra exclaimed as she snapped her fingers. Sure enough, the Puppet Pawns from King Check emerged, radiating black miasma.
"Woah, talk about Deja vu!" Drake exclaimed.
"Hey, aren't those the Puppet Pawns from King Check?" Shade asked.
"That's right! That blowhard was good for something. We now have new soldiers. Now it's time to end this!" Shadowshot said as the pawns readies their blades
"Targets locked: Proceeded with memory extraction." Mindscanner droned as he primed his cannons.
"Here's something you won't forget. Shall we?" Lincoln asked his friends.
"IT'S MORPHIN' TIME!"
They exclaimed as they readied their morphers, activating them so that the wings shot out. They crossed their arms in front of them
"AVIAN STRIKE!"
They brought them to their hips before pointing two fingers to the sky.
"IT'S TIME TO FLY!"
(Morph Sequence: Drake)
The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky red.
Drake then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. He then flew into the through the red clouds, which outfitted him in a red wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white coves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground
When he landed, he stood up as a red hawk landed behind his head, forming a red helmet with bird like eyes and a pointed beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
Sending his right fist to the lower left, he then brings it into the form of a salute with his left foot behind his right.
"Red Ranger! Ready for take off!"

The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky teal
Leni then made an X with her arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind her. He then flew through the teal clouds, which outfitted him in a teal wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground.
When she landed, she stood up as a teal swan landed behind her head, forming a teal helmet with bird like eyes and a flat beak with three feathers wrapped around her head. A black visor then covers her eyes.
Slamming her palms together, she then swung them below her before bringing them full circle with her palms facing in the opposite direction.
"Teal Ranger! Ready for Take off!"

The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky yellow
Jordan then made an X with her arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind her. He then flew through the yellow clouds, which outfitted her in a yellow wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground
When she landed, she stood up as a yellow falcon landed behind her head, forming a yellow helmet with bird like eyes and a drill-like beak with three feathers wrapped around her head. A black visor then covers her eyes.
Crouching down, she then goes into a low sweep clockwise, before front flipping to her before scratching twice and baring her clawed gloves.
"Yellow Ranger! Ready for Take off!"

The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky orange.
Lincoln then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. He then flew through the orange clouds, which outfitted him in an orange wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground
When he landed, he stood up as an orange sparrow landed behind his head, forming an orange helmet with bird like eyes and a needle-like beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
He then points his fingers in opposite directions into the top corners then swung them down before getting into a basic karate stance.
"Orange Ranger! Ready for take off!"

The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky black, the cloud then turning white.
Shade then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. He then flew through the black clouds, which outfitted him in a black wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground
When he landed, he stood up as a black raven landed behind his head, forming a black helmet with bird like eyes and a pointed beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
He then slams a fist into his palm and cracks his neck before getting into a southpaw stance.
"Black Ranger! Ready for take off!"
Carter nodded, impressed by the morph sequence.
"Impressive. Let's show you how we veterans do it." He said as they all readied their morphers.
Bringing his arms out, he then brought them to his front.
"LIGHTSPEED! RESCUE!"
Activating the morpher, he then launched his hands forward, a red and white shield forming as he was then placed through it, the shield forming around his body like a second skin, outfitting in his ranger suit. His face was then covered by a black shield.
Dax took his morpher off his shoulder and brought it to his left shoulder, pressing a button as he did.
"OVERDRIVE! ACCELERATE!"
Dax slid his morpher down his arm. Doing so, caused the wheel to spin with sparks flying. He then pointed it forward as a screen popped up to show schematics for his suit, helmet and weapon. It formed over him along with his helmet as he did a pose
Izzy slapped her wrist as her morpher formed before taking out a green key.
"DINO FURY KEY!"
She then clicked it so it turned into a knight figurine.
'ACTIVATE!"
She then inserted it into the teeth of the morpher, before turning it.
"LINK TO MORPHIN' GRID!"
She then slammed her hands on the ground, causing it to crack before getting up with her hands into claws. A giant, green, Sabre-toothed Tiger appeared above her before she leapt up and was surrounded by neurons which formed her suit as she landed. Her helmet shut behind her.
Chip took his morpher out and dialed the numbers: 123 before crossing his arms.
"MAGICAL SOURCE!'
He then pointed it to the sky
'MYSTIC FORCE!"
A spell circle appeared as a voice boomed, while the morpher shot lightning to the center
"GALYWIT MYSTO RANGER!"
As a garuda appeared and Chip did a pose with it dissolving behind him. He then flew through the circle, outfitting him in his ranger suit before his helmet appeared, covering his head before he did a pose.
Trent then activated his morpher.
"WHITE RANGER, DINO POWER!"
The background then went white as he spun around as pieces of his suit formed around his as his helmet formed when he landed. He then posed as a giant white Tupuzara appeared behind him.
Drake then punched in the opposite direction before bringing his fists back then putting his right arm on his forehead and his left against his gut
"Disciplined as the Hawk! Avian Strike! Red Ranger!" Drake declared
Leni spun like a ballerina before bending backwards and spreading her arms outward.
"Graceful as the Swan! Avian Strike! Teal Ranger" LEni declared
Jordan punched the air several times before doing a spinning uppercut and landing on the ground, bringing her left arm back with the fingers pointing behind her and her right doing a chopping motion.
"Fast as the Falcon! Avian Strike! Yellow Ranger!" Jordan declared
Lincoln did a card draw before slamming his fist into his palm then bringing it forward while his hand became a claw.
"Creative as the Sparrow! Avian Strike! Orange Ranger!" Lincoln declared
Shade moved his right hand in front of his face to the right before slamming it into the ground and bringing his left behind him as he looked up.
"Mysterious as the Raven! Avian Strike! Black Ranger!" Shade declared
Carter then saluted as he spoke.
"Rescue ready! Red Ranger!"
Dax then did his pose and spoke.
"Kick into Overdrive! Blue Ranger!"
Chip shot his hands out as lightning formed behind him,
"Fast as Lightning! Yellow Mystic Ranger!"
Izzy took out her sword, swinging it around before crouching.
"Tiger Fury! Green Ranger!"
Tret then did his pose and spoke.
"Drago Power! White Ranger!"
"Let the winds of combat cross over! As we spread our wings for battle!" Drake said.
"POWER RANGERS! UNITE!" They all yelled as a large explosion appeared behind him.
"Fine then, let's battle! Attack!" Shadowshot yelled as the two sides rushed to each other and clashed.
Drake and Carter had teamed up and fought against four Jynxers and Puppet Pawns, Carter having drawn his blaster while Drake had his saber out. Carter pistol whipped one then fired his blaster at three more. Drake then leapt above the Lightspeed Ranger and slashed two puppet pawns before flipping away to whip out his blaster, shooting two puppet pawns before tackling another from behind.
"Seriously, they're called Jynxers?" Carter had to ask as he roundhoused one.
"Yeah, what's wrong?" Drake asked as he flipped another.
"Had an enemy named Jynxer. He was a spellcaster." Carter said as he punched a Jinxer away
Isn't that a coincidence." Drake said to himself as he took out his saber and cut a Jynxer down.
Carter then drew another weapon.
"V-Lancer!" He said holding a large lance. Charging up energy, he then proceeded to swipe right and destroy the remaining Jynxers and Pawns.
"Nice!" Drake said before blocking shadow bullets from Shadowshot.
"Nice defence. Now let's see how well you do against me." He said as he began to fire and run while both Carter and Drake did the same, both using their blasters to fire back.
Leni and Dax were next as they fought against more Jynxers, Dax leaping like a kangaroo as he kicked several of them in the face. He even had his Drive Defender primed as he slashed several that Leni sent his way. Speaking of which, Leni had her Swan Spear out, slicing several Jynxers and sending them to Dax. he then landed and brought his defender into pistol mode and began firing back to back with Leni.
"This reminds me of a lot of action movies, you know!" Dax exclaimed as he continued to fire before bashing a Jynxer on the head with his blaster several times.
"Which one?!" Leni asked before taking out her balster and firing at more Jynxers.
"I'll tell you later! But first!' he then whipped out his gauntlet. 'Drive Vortex!" He yelled, blasting a stream of wind at the Jynxers, knocking them out.
Umbra then came in and then the two had to block her swords.
"Now you face me!" She declared.
"With pleasure!" The two said as they charged.
Jordan and Izzy were busy shredding through the Jynxers with their sabers and claws, slashing and scratching them with lightning fast speed.
"Sometimes, the fastest beats the strongest!" Izzy exclaimed as she leapt over a Jynxer and kicked it forward to Jordan who swept it off its feet.
"Got that right!" Jordan said as she did a downward scratch to a pawn.
Soon another group came close.
"You know what? Let me show you a trick." Izzy said, taking out a silver key.
"Sprint Dino Key! Activate!" She said as she placed it in the mouth of the hilt, chomping it several times as silver armor formed around her arm.
"Speed Strike!" She yelled as she dashed and cut down the group. The two hi-fived at the sight.
Lincoln and Chip were barrelling through the Jynxers, slashing several down. Lincoln had his scissors in their dual blade form as he slashed several down.
"Ahh, nothing like a superhero team-up!" Chip exclaimed.
"I know. I always thought it may happen later though." Lincoln said as he sliced more with his blades.
"Yeah. Anyways, I think these guys need to be thunderstruck!" Chip said as he raised his staff into the air.
"Lightning Power!" He yelled as lightning struck the Jynxers down before they could come.
"Nice!" Lincoln said as they hi-fived.
Finally, Shade and Trent were facing off against the Jynxers coming. Shade decided to go in bare handed, punching several Pawns back and flinging Jynxers to that they would collide with each other.
"I love the thrill of the fight!" Shade yelled as one tried to strike from behind, but was cut down by Trent.
"Hey, don't get to into it." He said.
"Sorry. Watch out!" He said, taking his blaster and firing it at two more Jynxers. Trent looked back.
"Nice."
Suddenly a group of Jynxers and Pawns came rushing to him. Shade was about to approach them but Trent held a hand out.
"Hey kid. Watch this." Trent said as he took his dagger out.
"Drago sword!" He yelled before rushing past like a blur, slashing everyone down.
"Woah." Shade spoke in awe as he went back.
"What do you think?" He asked.
"I think it's time for a new trophy!"
Hunterror yelled as he dove down but Shade was quick to defend him with his saber.
"You two are the perfect prey." He growled.
"Sorry, but I'm done with the whole being hunted by evil gag." Trent said as he kicked him away.
Soon all of the Jinns left were battling the rangers. Mindscanner tried to blast both Izyy and Jordan but they were too fast as they kept striking his sides at high speed.
"Cannot compute attacks!" He droned as he tried to fire, missing each time
"Eat this! Tornado Blaster!" Jordan yelled as she fired at the eye, causing it to short out.
Suddenly, they were interrupted by Shadowshot, Umbra and Hunterror plus the other Rangers. The generals and Rangers seemed to be exhausted.
"Jordan! Come on! Time to form the Ventus Blaster!" Drake yelled out as they took out their bird heads and held them to the sky.
"VENTUS CANNON! AIR FORMATION!"
The heads soon flew in a circle to form the cannon. Jordan then locked her head in.
"You won't be forgetting this!" She exclaimed as the other Rangers primed their weapons
"READY! AIM!"
Soon they all fired.
"AIR STRIKE!"
A yellow falcon shot out to Mindscanner, while Carter and Dax fired their blaster and Vortex, Izzy unleashed a blazing slash after equipping an orange armor, Chip summoned lightning from a crossbow while Trent formed laser arrows which shot to all of the jinns. The falcon dive bombed Mindscanner, the blaster and vortex blasted Shadowshot, Umbra was struck with a fire slash and Hunterror was blasted with the laser arrows.
"Error! Error! Going down!" Mindscanner droned as they all fell and exploded, the rangers turning their backs to them.
The generals were sent back and were nearly worse for wear.
"That sucked." Hunterror grumbled.
"We need to head back." Umbra said as they formed a portal.
"Right. Infectora isn't going to like this." Shadowshot grumbled as they left.
Back at the dark temple.
"Idiots. The lot of them! Time to take care of business! GIGANTE GEYSER!"
Black energy shot out from under Mindscanner and re-energised him, making him grow.
"Power back online!" He roared.
The veteran rangers all saw this.
"Man, I'm getting a feeling of deja vu!" Dax exclaimed and everyone had to agree with them.
"Makes me wish we still had our zords!" Izzy added.
"Can you handle it, kid?" Carter asked Drake.
"Watch us."
The avian Rangers soon pointed to the sky
"AVIAN SPIRITS! FLY OUT!"
All their zords flew out of them as they then swooped down to pick up the rangers and place them in their cockpits.
"Hawk Zord!"
"Swan Zord!"
"Falcon Zord!"
"Sparrow Zord!"
"Raven Zord!"
Next the rangers yelled out this.
"AVIAN SPIRITS! FLY AS ONE!"
Soon all of the zords began to fly in an arrow formation. The red hawk's head jerked back as it folded its legs and wings inside, a face popping from inside the hawk's head. Next was the black raven as it attached to the back and let its wings spread out. Soon the yellow falcon swooped from below and extended its legs and lowered his head to join at the bottom to form the legs. The orange sparrow and green swan soon folded its limbs to form the two arms. The orange was a needle while the green was like a blade.
The megazord soon flew as a background of a view above the clouds was shown.
"TENGU MEGAZORD!"
"Prepare to siphon memories!" Mindscanner declared as he prepared to fire.
"We cannot let him fire guys!" Drake declared.
"Well, let's get some air then!" Shade said as they took flight.
"Switching to air combat!" Mindscanner said as he fired lasers from his cannons but the Megazord responded in kind.
"Scanning!" Mindscanner said.
"Not this time! Let's go higher!" Drake said as the Megazord flew to the sun as Mindscanner followed. Suddenly, he was blinded by the light, firing in random directions
"Error! Error! Cannot compute! Cannot Compute!" His said in a static voice.
"Hah! It worked!." Leni cheered as they watched the Jinn spaz.
"Like a camera lens. Too bright light can cause a dangerous flash!" Lincoln said as they saw Mindscanner soon fire randomly in every direction.
"Now let's have some fun!" Jordan said as the robot took out the spear, swiping away as Mindscanner still short-circuted from each strike.
"Attack pattern unrecognized!" He droned, falling back.
"OK, let's scrap this guy before he hurts someone!" Drake said and everyone agreed as they pulled their levers, causing the megazord to fly to the peak, spear ready
"POWER OF THE SKY!"
The megazord brought the arm back, ready to throw.
"FINAL STRIKE!"
With one throw, the spear shot through the sky and pierced Mindscanner as it landed on the other. The Megazord landed and picked it up.
"Shutting…Down." Mindscanner spoke in a low tone as he fell on its side, exploding.
The rangers, both in the megazord and below, cheered.
"Now that was something worth remembering!" Lincoln cheered.
"The skies are now clear. Avian Rangers! We have landed a victory!" Drake declared.
Back at the temple, the rangers were all exchanging goodbyes.
"Do you have to go?" Lincoln asked with a pout.
"Yeah. We could use some help." Jordan added.
"Sorry, but we are semi-retired. The next battle against evil is in your hands." Carter exclaimed.
"But don't worry. All rangers are connected. You need help, the database can help. And you never know. You may meet other Rangers to." Trent added.
"Well, it's been a pleasure fighting with you. We would be glad to see you again." Avias said as he then transported them back.
"Now then, let's have a look at that database. Who knows what we could see?" Lincoln said in a giddy tone, eager to learn from their predecessors.
All the rangers gathered round the screen, eager to watch the other teams in action.
Though…
"Hey. What's the message here?" Shade asked.
They all leaned closer and saw what it said. There was an image of a statue of a Ranger in a green draconic motif and a golden triangle holding a flute, with a giant dragon behind him.
Below read a message:
"TO TOMMY OLIVER. THE GREATEST RANGER WHO EVER LIVED. REST IN PEACE. ONCE A RANGER, ALWAYS A RANGER."
They all looked at each other in concern.
"I guess…this guy must be special…" Lincoln said.
"Yeah. Let's see what made him special." Avias added and they all agreed, watching the first file labelled:
"MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: THE ORIGINALS"
Meanwhile, the three Jinn Generals were in the dark pool, healing up while Infectora was far away.
If you could hear, the sound of an angry roar could be heard from the dimension.

Finally, I can now move on to the individual episodes. With the 30th anniversary coming up, I had to write this! And here are the choices for my Rangers
Carter Grayson: Leader and the team were essentially military. Perfect for Drake
Dax Lo: Both him and Leni are a bit scatterbrained but fun.
Izzy Garcia: Both her and Jordan are female athletes
Chip Thorn: Comic book and superhero fan like Lincoln, hello?
Trent Hernandez: Well, this was a but tricky, but I figured Trent would also so street art and I had Shade have other talents than being a street fighter.
So, I mainly expanded on Mindscanner's abilities and also added a tribute to Tommy Oliver or his real name Jason David Frank. Man...Been a month and I'm still not over it. JDF was an epic Ranger! If they ever find someone to play the role...Well they have some big-ass shoes to fill because NO ONE can play Tommy like JDF.
