Episode 8 - Cooldown Mode
Summary: Jordan finds herself speeding up and being hasty in everything. But when battling an ice-cold Jinn leaves her leg buckled, she needs to learn to keep a cool head and be patient before it sends the world into the Ice Age!
It was now a gym in Royal Woods Middle school and all of the young students were getting ready for a game of dodgeball. One team however was extremely worried.
"Dudes, we are facing Jordan." Rusty gulped as he and the rest stretched.
"I know. We are so gonna get a beating from this." Clyde added as he shook.
The rest of them couldn't help but agree, especially Lincoln. Lincoln loved Jordan to bits but in dodgeball, she was like a demon, striking fast, striking hard with no mercy.
"Look, we'll just use the snake formation back in elementary school." Lincoln said. The time he had as a Ranger had also heightened his agility so that he could keep up but it would raise questions. True he could say something to throw them off but better safe than sorry.
He was cut off from his thoughts when a dodgeball came and slammed him in the face.
"What the?!" Stella yelled out before the same thing happened to her then to the rest of the opposition. Soon, everyone on the other side was slammed with dodgeballs. They were still weary as the gym teacher blew his whistle.
"YES! OH, YEAH! IN FIVE SECONDS!" She cheered but the others were looking at her with annoyed looks.
"Jordan." The teacher said in an annoyed tone.
She stopped celebrating to see the teacher not at all happy.
"Yes, coach?" She said with a smile.
"Nice form. Now maybe you can wait for me to blow the whistle?" He said, containing his irritation. This caused her to stop.
"What?" She said nervously.
"She didn't even start the game. You pretty much began without the signal." Lincoln said with a groan. Jordan looked at her team as they nodded in confirmation.
"Oops." She said sheepishly.
As Lincoln got up, he raised a brow. For some reason, he could've sworn that he saw static on the dodge ball.
"Great…detention after school for rough play…" Jordan said with a moan as she moped her way to class.
"Well, you did kinda rush into the game. I know you're eager but sure as heck didn't wait for it to begin properly." He said with a smile.
"I know, but I can't help it!' She said with a pout, 'I love the game!"
"Yeah, I know.' he then frowned as he saw how far ahead she was. 'Uhhh, Jordan? You do realise that class doesn't start in 5 minutes so we have a bit of time right? No need to rush ahead." He said, seeing the distance.
"Huh?" She spoke confusedly and saw what he meant.
"Second time that's happened." She said as she walked back.
"How so?"
"On the way, I went for a walk. Don't know what had happened but for some reason…everything was moving in slow motion. Only three minutes had passed and I was already at the school." she said.
"Strange. We'll look into it at the temple." He said as they entered the classroom.
Soon the teacher came in and handed over some tests.
"You have 30 minutes. Make sure you check your answers." She said and soon everyone began the test. Lincoln was carefully reading the questions and answering them. But when the first four minutes had passed, he saw Jordan get up and hand her test over to the teacher.
'That was fast. Too fast.' He thought with a raised brow, especially when the teacher spoke.
"Jordan, not only did you finish the test too fast but you made it so that it looks like an alien wrote it." She said sternly as Jordan's eyes widened at the messy paper, littered with scribbles.
"What?! But…I double checked everything! I wrote in a calm manner!" She protested.
"Uh huh. And I wrote a novel in half that time. You'll do the test again during lunch." She said as she trudged to her seat and Jordan slammed her face into the desk, with Lincoln looking concerned for his girlfriend.
Soon, Lincoln was with both Leni, Drake and Shade outside the school for break.
"Really?" Drake asked.
"Yeah, she rushed the whole test so fast, it looked like a two-year-old wrote it. Heck, during gym she didn't even wait for the whistle to blow and blasted everyone on the other side.
"Man, she's fast as a falcon but not that friggin' fast. What the hell is going on?" Shade spoke, sipping a soda
"Maybe Avias can answer?" Leni suggested, with a finger on her chin.
"Yeah. That may work. After school, once she is out of detention, we'll head to the temple." Drake said to his team and they nodded their heads in agreement.
Meanwhile, Jordan sat in the classroom, feeling extremely antsy.
"Hurry up…" She muttered to herself as she tapped her foot and looked at the clock.
"The clock isn't gonna move faster when you beg it. Be patient." The teacher said sternly.
"Yes sir." She said.
That was when it happened again. The world ended up slowing down, birds looked like they were still in the air, the second hand stopped.
"Huh? What the?" She said as everything slowed down. That was when she felt something electric in her fingers. Looking down, her eyes widened as electricity danced around her fingers and body.
"Huh? What?" She said before her body sparked like lightning before she ran out, the urge to run filling her mind. By the time the teacher looked up, he was fuming as he saw the girl out of the classroom and running down the hall
"MS. ROSATO! GET BACK HERE! YOU ARE IN BIG TROUBLE!" He yelled as he chased after her.
The four were in a secluded part of the school and were waiting for Jordan.
"Hopefully Jordan is done with her detention." Lincoln said.
"Ah, relax kid. What she gonna do? Sneak out?" Shade said with a smirk as he leaned against the wall.
Soon, Jordan arrived in front of them, sparking with a shocked look.
"Then again, I can be wrong." Shade said as they saw her, all four looking shocked.
"Did you just sneak out?!" Drake exclaimed.
"Yeah, look, can we get to the temple?! For some reason, I feel like I need to go fast as lightning!" She said in a panicked tone.
"Right!" Drake said as he called Motrix to summon them to the temple. The tornado came and warped them to the top right before the teacher came out.
"Where is she?!" He yelled as he looked around.
Soon, all of the rangers were at the temple grounds, Avias and Mortrix were there to meet them.
"We got your call, Rangers! What happened?" Avias asked them.
Jordan suddenly sped up to him.
"Something'swrongwithme! Everythingisslowingdownandmybrainisgoingamileaminute! Plusforsomereasoni'mawalkingfusebox!" She spoke in a hurried, panicked tone.
"Huh?" Mortrix asked in confusion.
"She said everything is slowing down and her brain is going a mile a minute and for some reason, she's a walking fuse box" Lincoln clarified, much to the confusion of the others, except Leni. 'What? I live with ten sisters that yell and argue fast. You learn how to understand them after a while."
"Hmm…That sounds familiar. Come with me. I need to run some tests." He said as she sped walked with him.
Avias then pointed his staff at her, seeing a certain image in his staff orb.
"I don't believe it…" he muttered.
"What's the verdict?" Drake asked.
"Her avian spirit is evolving." He answered.
"Evolving?" Jordan asked.
"Yes. As well as your Avian Spirit, a true compatible will also be granted elemental powers." He explained.
"Wait?! Like superpowers?!" Lincoln spoke with starry eyes.
"Yes. Each Avian spirit also awakens an elemental booster. The first time they awaken can be uncontrollable but with proper training, you can master it. In Jordan's case, her element is lightning, which explains why she is so antsy."
"Yeah nice. I'm essentially a walking lightning bolt. Can I go now?" She asked, tapping her foot on the ground quickly.
"It seems that I know what to train her in. How to be patient." Avias said in a deadpanned tone.
Meanwhile, in a warehouse, a delivery man was seen wheeling a large BuoQua Liquid Nitrogen Container on a dolly.
"Man…can't believe those guys accidentally ordered an extra canister." he said before heading off into his truck and driving off. Suddenly, a portal opened and Shadowshot came out, pentagram in his hand.
Spying the nitrogen canister, he chuckled with a pentagram in his hand.
"Time to put the world on ice. Literally." He said as he slammed the pentagram on top of it, covering it in purple magic, two circles appearing below before covering it in a purple orb as it floated. What came out was a 5ft 10inch being in a blue winter coat with white fur on the hood and a brown lining, covering the head which was a single eye. The torso was silver with a snowflake on the belly and the nitrogen symbol in blue. The arms were also blue with one white hand and the other being a silver cannon. The legs were white with blue checks and white boots.
"Zero-Nitro, ready to chill." He said in a deep voice.
"As bad as the pun is, come on. We have some items we need to obtain." Shadowshot said.
"Of course, what are your orders?" Zero-Nitro asked.
"There is a large diamond located nearby. We need that for my plan." He said.
"Right. Anything else?" He said.
"Yes. Take some Jynxers when you get there. The Rangers may stop you." he said.
"Of course. It will be a cold day in hell if we fail this mission." He said as he blasted a stream of ice on the road. He then went on it and slid to his destination.
Back at the temple, the rest of the rangers, Windform, Mortrix and Avias were kneeling by a low, circular table with small cups.
"So, how will this teach her how to be patient?" Drake had to ask.
"The kettle she will be pouring is larger than her and full of tea. If she needs to pour it, she will need a calm mind and the patience to fill the cups." Avias said.
Sure enough, the sounds of grunts caught their ears as Jordan came in, holding a giant kettle of tea, staggering as she did.
"Man…What does this…have to do…with being…patient?" Jordan said as she strained the hold she had on the kettle.
"Remember. Keep calm and have patience. Then when you have stability, pour the kettle." Avias said.
Jordan then made her way to the table, slowly and carefully pouring the kettle into the cups. She was gritting her teeth as she did so, sweat pouring down her forehead. She filled one before moving to the other, only this time she tipped the kettle at a steeper angle and caused the cup to overflow.
"Um…Jordan? You kinda…?" Leni began to speak but Jordan didn't stick around and moved to the next one. Only this time, she tipped and went to the next.
"OK, since when are we rationing our drinks?" Drake had to ask. But before she could move to the next one, the alarm went off, shocking them all.
"WOAH!" Jordan yelped as she accidentally poured tea all over Shade.
"Oops. Sorry." Jordan said in an embarrassed tone as he looked unamused.
"Thanks. I needed a shower." He said in a deadpanned tone.
Soon, everyone came to the computer and saw Zero-Nitro approach a gem store.
"Looks like a new bruiser is formed." Avias said.
"And looks like he is an ice king." Lincoln said as he saw him fire his cannon and froze a few people in the store.
"Well, then let's get going!" Jordan said as she raced off.
"Jordan, wait! We need a…!' He didn't get to finish as Jordan warped to where the action was. '...plan." He deadpanned.
"You sure chose a spitfire, dude." Shade said as he looked at Lincoln with a wide, sarcastic smile.
Lincoln sighed. "Damn it, Jordan."
The others went to where the action was.
Zero-Nitro had just left the store, carrying a large diamond in his hands. A jynxer plus Shadowshot was there waiting for him.
"Perfect. We have the first piece of the plan. Now for the next part." He said as he took the diamond.
"Which is?" Zero-Nitro asked but they were then interrupted by Jordan.
"You know you can just buy that right?" She said as they looked to see Jordan, ready to fight.
"Aren't you alone, Yellow Ranger?" Shadowshot spoke.
"Yeah, I raced ahead. But I don't think they'll mind if I get started!' She then activated her morpher. 'AVIAN STRIKE! IT'S TIME TO FLY!" She morphed into her Ranger form and took out her quill saber and charged.
"Impatient little brat, aren't you?" Zero-Nitro said as he took aim and fired his cannon on the ground. Jordan in her haste slipped on it and went sliding, screaming as she did before crashing into a post.
"OW!" She yelped as she tried to get up. But Shadowshot had his revolver out and aimed it at her.
"Not this time!" He said as he fired at the pole.
"HAH! You missed!" Jordan taunted as she tried to get up. She then heard the sounds of creaking metal. Looking up, she saw the lamp post beginning to fall down.
"I never miss." Shadowshot said as it landed on Jordan, her screams filling the air.
"That takes care of one. Let's go to the next target!" Shadowshot said.
"HOLD IT!"
They both groaned as they saw the other four rangers, morphed and ready. Lincoln then noticed Jordan on the ground.
"OH NO! JORDAN!" He yelled.
"We haven't got time for this. Zero-Nitro, you buy time! I'll head to our next target." Shadowshot said as he quickly leapt into a formed portal on the wall.
"Jynxers!" He commanded as they rose from the shadows.
"Put them on ice!" He commanded as they yelled.
"Lincoln! You get to Jordan and free her! We'll take care of Eskimo No!" Drake ordered
"Right!" He said as he rushed to her, but not before cutting down five Jynxers that were in his way.
Drake nodded his head in approval before blocking one with his saber then shooting it with his blaster. The other rangers soon began to fight them off as Lincoln slid to where Jordan was.
"Jordan, are you OK?!" He asked in a panicked tone.
"My…my leg!" She groaned as she began to struggle.
"Allow me!" He said as he pressed his belt buckle.
"AVIAN WEAPON! DESCEND FROM ABOVE!" He yelled as his scissors materialised and with a quick snip, he cut the pole in to.
"There!" He said as he picked her up and hoisted over her shoulder.
"Let me go! I have an ice cube to melt!" Jordan growled as she detached herself from him but before she could walk, her leg gave way and she fell to the ground.
"ARGH! MY LEG!" She yelled in agony.
"Guys! Jordan's out of commission! I'll take her back to the temple!" Lincoln called.
"Right! We'll crack this ice-hole's ass in the meantime!" Shade exclaimed as he shot down one group of Jynxers.
"I haven't got time for this, so why don't you just…' He then pointed his cannon. 'CHILL! ZERO FREEZE!" He yelled as energy built in his cannon and he fired a stream of ice, freezing them into position.
"Aw! Damn!" Drake yelled.
"Anyone able to escape?!" Leni also yelled as they struggled.
"Allow me!" Shade said, blaster still in hand as he began to fire, breaking the ice and freeing them. They then pointed their weapons but Zero-Nitro had his cannon ready.
Zero-Nitro prepared to fire again but he then flashed purple and went to his knees.
"Ugh! Low on Negergy! Time to cool off!" He said as he leapt into the portal.
"Great! Bruiser flies the coop, Shadowshot nicks a diamond and one of our rangers has a banged up leg! How can this be any…?!" Shade began to rant but then he was cut off by a rainfall.
"Worse?" Drake said as they decided to warp back to the temple.
Meanwhile, Shadowshot had just left an electronics store with a large satellite, all the while an army of Jynxers followed him.
"Perfect. Now to assemble the parts. I hope Zero-Nitro is doing OK." He said as he leapt into the portal.
Back at the temple, Jordan was on a med bed with her leg in a sling.
"Luckily it only seemed to dislocate your knee, but I would recommend staying off the knee for at least a few days." Avias said.
"A FEW DAYS?!' She yelled as she tried to get up. 'I'm laid up for a FEW DAYS?!" When she got onto her feet, she had to grit her teeth in pain before going down.
"Seriously?! You need to let your leg rest!" Leni said in shock.
"I'll be fine! And I can't wait a few days! I have dodgeball practice!" She said, trying to take a few steps but she kept on wincing. Lincoln went up to her to keep her steady.
"Easy, Jordan! You heard what Avias said: Take some time and let your leg heal. Have some patience." Lincoln said but Jordan just looked at him with a death glare.
"Dodgeball waits for no girl! I'll be fine with some exercise!" She said as she limped her way out of the portal.
"This can only end badly." Shade remarked and everyone nodded their heads in agreement.
Back at the temple, Shadowshot and a black Puppet Pawn were busy assembling the machine.
"Perfect. One more component is a power source." He said as Infectora came from behind him.
"May I ask as to why you are tinkering with toys and not destroying the rangers?" He demanded.
"Simple, master. I'll send this world into an eternal blizzard. The humans will run blind and scared or freeze to a cold grave. You will have enough energy to rise up and infect the world once again. I just need a strong power source and Zero-Nitro." he explained just as said bruiser came in.
"Locked and loaded and ready to ice some fools!"
"Interesting. And the heists have already begun fueling me.' He said as he began to glow a malevolent purple. 'Perhaps I can be of assistance." He said as he grabbed a rock like the diamond and charged it with his lightning.
"A power source. Perfect." Shadowshot said as he took the powered gem and fitted into the chamber. The machine glowed and started to come to life.
"Say what you can about humans, they know their technology." Shadowshot said as the two leapt back through the portal back to the real world.
"Ahhh Avias. I hope you enjoy the cold embrace of death…" Infectora rasped as he cackled in the temple.
"OK, are you guys ready for dodgeball?!" The coach yelled as the students cheered, except for a few.
Lincoln's group looked nervous but they also saw Jordan looking concerned and strained as well.
"Uhh, guys? Is there something wrong with Jordan? Usually she will be more energetic than a rabbit during mating season." Liam whispered to the rest.
"Yeah. She looks rather strained for some reason." Rusty added.
"And why is she rubbing her leg? Did she get into an accident or something?" Clyde also included.
Lincoln was silent. He knew why and was hoping for something.
"Don't strain yourself. Your leg is still wrecked." He thought to himself.
Soon the game started and the team with Jordan was hoping for a clean sweep. But it was clear to everyone that there was something funky going on.
Her running time was slow, her jumps were low and when she landed, she winced in pain. And she was clearly running on fumes.
"Man, Jordan must be slacking off!" Zach said eagerly as he dodged a ball.
"Yeah, I think we should finish her off and dethrone the dodgeball queen!" Rusty said and was ready to throw but Lincoln was quicker, grabbing the ball and did a light throw to Jordan.
"Not this time!" She said and leapt to the side, landing on her bad knee. A 'click' could be heard and soon Jordan screamed in agony, crumpling down as she held her leg.
"JORDAN!" Lincoln and the coach yelled as everyone rushed towards her.
"Lincoln! Can you take her to the nurses office?!" The coach said as the boy hoisted her arm over her shoulder and helped her to the nurse's office.
"Right!" He said as they went out.
"Sorry, everyone but the game is cancelled. In the meantime, this is now a free period." He announced as they all dispersed.
"What happened?!" Clyde had to ask.
"Was Jordan playing with a gimpy leg?!" Stella also said.
"That explains why she wasn't playing up to scratch but how did she get it?" Zach asked.
"We should find out when we get the chance." Rusty said and they all agreed.
At the Nurse's office, Jordan's knee and part of her leg was bandaged and she was given strict instructions:
"Stay off the leg for at least a few days. And let it heal naturally."
Jordan hobbled out on a pair of crutches, looking rather miserable.
"You should've listened to Avias, Jordan. Now your leg is in worse shape than ever." Lincoln said as he helped her out of the school.
"I know. You were right. This lightning thing has me so wound up that I was willing to rush my healing time. Now my leg is more wrecked than ever." She grumbled as they both exited the school. Her parents were waiting for them.
"Oh, My baby!" Mrs. Rosato said as she hugged her daughter with all her might, embarrassing her.
"Mom!" She whined.
"Thank you, young man for helping her here. What happened?" Mr. Rosato asked as he shook his hand.
Lincoln knew what to do.
"She slipped on something but rather waiting for it to heal, she rushed the recovery process and well…you know what happened."
Tell a half-truth.
"I see. We'll make sure that she heals up properly." He said as they took the young girl home.
Before he could go back, his morpher beeped.
"This is Lincoln." He said, speaking into it.
"Lincoln! Zero-Nitro has been spotted by the radio station with Shadowshot! They are about to do something fierce!" Drake said.
"On my way!" Lincoln spoke as he rushed to the destination.
At Jordan's house, the girl mentioned was on her bed, looking really bored.
She wanted to move but her leg was still badly damaged. She had to be patient.
"This. SUCKS!" She said as she laid in her bed. All she could do was lie in wait.
As she did, she noticed something. Small details from the scratch paint chip on the dresser to the tweeting of birds as they flew past the window. She realised that being still meant she noticed a lot of tiny things from the beat of the clock ticking to the footsteps of the staff walking down the corridor.
She then turned on the TV and saw people running from Jynxers while Zero-Nitro was shooting blasts of ice at anyone that came his way. Shadowshot meanwhile was preparing the device he made.
"Oh no! I need to help! But my leg…" She said to herself, frustrated by her injury.
Then she had an idea. Grabbing her crutches, she took out the Flock Quill and placed it into her morpher.
"Flock Quill!" Soon a perfect copy of Jordan was on the bed.
"This should buy me some time." She said as she warped to the temple.
As soon as she arrived, the three beings turned to her in shock.
"Jordan?! What are you doing here?! Your leg is still healing!" Windform said.
"I know that but I can't just lie on my back while the others are fighting for their lives!" She said with conviction. Avias saw her fire and pointed his staff on her leg, the gem glowing as she felt it heal.
"The spell will only last for about an hour. You need to use the time wisely, so no rushing into the fight and make it worse." He advised.
"No need. I think I know what to do. But I will need to become patient to strike." She said with a grin and with that she warped to where the battle was.
"Can she do it?" Windform asked nervously.
"She better. Else there is a cold wind coming." Avias grimaced, not realising a feather was glowing.
Soon, the four unmorphed Rangers ran to where the mayhem was.
"OI! Ice Man!" Lincoln yelled as Zero-Nitro saw the Rangers come up to him.
"What exactly are you going to do with that little doohickey up there?" Leni asked with a glare.
"Simple. With the device, all I need to do is set myself up for the biggest ice age in the world! An eternal winter! Everyone will fear the cold!" He proclaimed.
"That will turn the world into the twisted version of a winter wonderland!" Drake said with dread.
"You're catching on. And to make sure you idiots don't interfere…JYNXERS!" Soon an army of jynxers swarmed in front of them.
"Keep them busy." He said as he climbed the building.
"Well, we got some fools to ice." Shade said as they got ready for Drake to say the line:
"IT'S MORPHING TIME!"
They touched the eyes, causing the beaks to open, crossing their wrists in front of them.
"AVIAN STRIKE!"
They brought their fists down to their hips then pointed to the sky.
"IT'S TIME TO FLY!"
(Morph Sequence: Drake)
The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky red.
Drake then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. He then flew into the through the red clouds, which outfitted him in a red wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white coves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground.
When he landed, he stood up as a red hawk landed behind his head, forming a red helmet with bird like eyes and a pointed beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
Sending his right fist to the lower left, he then brings it into the form of a salute with his left foot behind his right.
"Red Ranger! Ready for take off!"
(Morph Sequence: Leni)
The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky teal.
Leni then made an X with her arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind her. He then flew through the teal clouds, which outfitted him in a teal wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground.
When she landed, she stood up as a teal swan landed behind her head, forming a teal helmet with bird like eyes and a flat beak with three feathers wrapped around her head. A black visor then covers her eyes.
Slamming her palms together, she then swung them below her before bringing them full circle with her palms facing in the opposite direction.
"Teal Ranger! Ready for Take off!"
(Morph Sequence: Lincoln)
The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky orange.
Lincoln then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. He then flew through the orange clouds, which outfitted him in an orange wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground.
When he landed, he stood up as an orange sparrow landed behind his head, forming an orange helmet with bird like eyes and a needle-like beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
He then points his fingers in opposite directions into the top corners then swung them down before getting into a basic karate stance.
"Orange Ranger! Ready for take off!"
(Morph Sequence: Shade)
The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky black, the clouds then turning white.
Shade then made an X with his arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind him. He then flew through the black clouds, which outfitted him in a black wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground.
When he landed, he stood up as a black raven landed behind his head, forming a black helmet with bird like eyes and a pointed beak with three feathers wrapped around his head. A black visor then covers his eyes.
He then slams a fist into his palm and cracks his neck before getting into a southpaw stance.
"Black Ranger! Ready for take off!"
Soon they all took out their quill sabers and began to charge at the Jynxer army just as the Jynxers drew their daggers and also charged.
Drake swung his saber and nicked one in the neck before blocking another and kicking it away. He then swiped at three, causing sparks to fly before running back. Leaping onto a table he began to shoot many times, knocking each one down yelling out:
"SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!"
Leni and Lincoln decided to tag team as they stood back to back, blasting each Jynxer that came. Lincoln then rolled over Leni's back and kicked one away then shot one over the crouching teal ranger's back while Leni placed her blaster on the gut of one and fired, sending the Jynxer back. She remained crouched and continued to fire away.
"You OK?" Leni asked as she got up. Lincoln pointed his blaster on the side of her and shot one trying to sneak attack her.
"Better. Now come on!" Lincoln said as they raced to stop Zero-Nitro.
Shade flipped on then grabbed another to slam it into the wall. He then saw three more, waving their blades at him.
"Good news is? You punks have blades! Bad news?' He drew his blaster and shot the three with quick reflexes. 'You brought a blade to a gun fight!" He cackled as he ran to the others.
The four soon re-grouped.
"Jynxers taken care of!" Lincoln said with a salute.
"Good. Now come on! We have a Bruiser to take care of!" Drake said as they rushed to the top with a new Quill.
"Sky Walk Quill!"
Soon all of them began to walk on the air to the roof to where the machine began to turn on.
"Now Nitro. Time to start the Ice age!" Shadowshot said as Zero-Nitro primed his blaster.
"Hang on. You may need to deal with something first." Shadowshot said as he noticed the Rangers charging.
"How did they…? No matter." Zero-Nitro said as he aimed and froze the rangers up to their necks. The four were struggling and had to watch as Nitro went back.
"No!" They yelled as Zero-Nitro took aim.
"DO IT!" Shadowshot yelled as the glow shone in the cannon's arm. Things seem to slow down, then a yellow streak of lightning came rushing over them and dove to the Jinn.
"Here! I'll give you a closer look!"
The ice jinn had no idea what happened as he was sent flying straight into the machine, destroying it.
When it stopped, everyone looked shocked.
"JORDAN?!"
There stood Jordan, standing proud with a smirk on her face.
"Room for one more?"
"What?!" Shadowshot roared in rage.
"How?! Your leg is busted!" Zero-Nitro added.
"Temporary healing spell. Amazing what magic can do. Now to ice you…' She then activated her morpher …'Permanently." She said as she crossed her wrists.
"AVIAN STRIKE!"
She then brought them to her hips before shooting her fingers to the sky.
"IT'S TIME TO FLY!"
(Morph Sequence: Jordan)
The morpher shot to the sky, turning the sky yellow.
Jordan then made an X with her arms before uncrossing them as a pair of wings shot from behind her. He then flew through the yellow clouds, which outfitted her in a yellow wingsuit with a lightning bolt on the chest, white gloves with golden claws and a pair of white boots before diving back to the ground.
When she landed, she stood up as a yellow falcon landed behind her head, forming a yellow helmet with bird like eyes and a drill-like beak with three feathers wrapped around her head. A black visor then covers her eyes.
Crouching down, she then goes into a low sweep clockwise, before front flipping to her before scratching twice and baring her clawed gloves.
"Yellow Ranger! Ready for Take off!"
"And for extra power…AVIAN WEAPON! DESCEND FROM ABOVE!" She said as she slammed her belt and pointed to the sky.
Soon, two bolts of lightning struck beside Jordan as she stuck her hands in them. When she brought them out, her hands were outfitted with her falcon claws.
"Falcon Claws!" She yelled as she crossed them in front of her.
"Let's dance Ice Man!" She said getting into a stance.
"I'm gonna ice you! Permanently!" He yelled as he fired, only Jordan stood still as the beam formed, which confused the rangers.
"Why is she…?" Leni asked but she got her answer.
"Now!" She said as she dodged the attack by leaping out of the way. She then sped past the two and slashed many times with her claws.
"Grr! Black Bullet Showdown!" Shadowshot yelled as he charged his revolvers and began to fire away but Jordan took a breath and leaned backwards shifting to a flip as she dodged them, whipping out her blaster and fired back at Shadowshot and Zero-Nitro, with the cowboy Jinn taking a lot of the hits as he was sent flying from the roof.
"OH CRAAAAAAA…!" He yelled as he summoned a portal to retreat.
"GRRR! I'LL MAKE YOU EMBRACE THE COLD STING OF DEATH!" He yelled as he charged, swinging his arms. Each time he did, Jordan got out of the way each one and slashed away, making sure to time her strikes.
"Looks like she is finally learning to be patient and timing her strikes." Drake commented.
"Yep. Slashing away and dodging like an acrobat." Shade agreed.
"Well, Lincoln agrees with you." Leni said with a snicker. The two boys watched as Lincoln shuddered in pleasure at the sight.
"Man, that's hot!" he said before looking to his right at the snickering teens.
"This never left the ice cube, OK." He said but they continued to snicker.
Meanwhile, Zero-Nitro was getting extremely frustrated and soon began shooting icicles from his blaster.
"STAY STILL BRAT!" He yelled.
"Not this time!" She yelled as she slashed upwards and cut the blaster off, making him step back in shock as he held it.
"No…" he stuttered.
"Oh yeah, Now to finish you!" She said as she began to glow yellow, catching everyone's attention.
"Woah, what's with the light show?" Leni asked.
"Huh? I'm glowing? Why am I glowing?' She asked, then slouched. 'I just quoted Mewtwo VS Shadow didn't I?"
She got her answer when a bright yellow quill came down towards her. Grabbing it, she felt something whisper in her head.
"OK…Time for a new trick. Lightning Sky Quill! Activate!" She yelled, inserting the quill into her left claw set as she felt lightning course through her arms as the claws extended.
She felt lightning course through her, making her as fast and powerful as a thunderstorm.
"Here it comes!" She yelled as she rushed like lightning.
"AVIAN STRIKE: LIGHTNING CLAW!" She roared as she scratched upwards at Zero-Nitro, cutting him down.
He began to spark and sway as he teetered off the edge of the cliff.
"YOU COLD-BLOODED BRAT!" He yelled as he fell off, exploding into bits with Jordan facing away.
"Oh, cool off pal!" She said as she did. She then took out her blaster and shot the ice to bits.
Lincoln immediately ran up to her and gave her a loving hug.
"OH MY GOD! THAT WAS AWESOME! HOW THE HELL YOU DID THAT?!" He said in an excited tone.
"Kid's right, lady! You fried that guy like a breaded chicken!" Shade added to.
"Guess all I had to do was keep cool and patient. Next thing I know, I have a quill that allows me to shred him to bits."
In the temple, Infectora was emitting his purple aura.
"Time to bring back the blizzard. GIGANTE GEYSER!" He yelled as he slammed the floor and caused a pillar of malevolent purple magic to shoot up from the temple. The rangers saw the purple and braced as Zero-Nitro went giant.
"TIME TO PUT YOU ALL ON ICE! FOREVER!" He yelled.
"Looks like the Ice Man's got his second wind. What do you say? We melt him for good?" Shade said with a chuckle.
"Sounds like a plan to me." Drake said as they all pointed to the sky.
"AVIAN ZORDS! FLY OUT!"
Soon all five birds shot out from them and swooped down to pick them up in their mouths.
Next came the next line:
"AVIAN SPIRITS! FLY AS ONE!"
Soon all of the zords began to fly in an arrow formation. The red hawk's head jerked back as it folded its legs and wings inside, a face popping from inside the hawk's head. Next was the black raven as it attached to the back and let its wings spread out. Soon the yellow falcon swooped from below and extended its legs and lowered his head to join at the bottom to form the legs. The orange sparrow and green swan soon folded its limbs to form the two arms. The orange was a needle while the green was like a blade.
The megazord soon flew as a background of a view above the clouds was shown.
"TENGU MEGAZORD!"
"I've had enough of you brats! I'm gonna land you straight into the damn cooler!" He yelled as he primed his blaster.
"He's gonna shoot!" Shade said.
"Should we rush him?" Lincoln said.
"No." Jordan said as they all looked at her.
"If we do that, we run the risk of him blasting the ground. We need to time it right and blast at the right moment. Leni, get the wind blaster ready." Jordan said as she turned to the Teal Ranger.
"Right!" She said as the swan head pointed at the giant jinn and began to charge up.
"Wait…" Jordan said and as soon as the blast was fired, Jordan gave the order.
"Shoot the ground! Let's go flying!" She said and the blaster pointed down below, which propelled the Megazord upwards.
"What?!" Nitro yelled.
"Now, Sky Spear!" Jordan yelled as they came down, spear drawn as they slashed the torso, sending him back.
"Nice!" The four yelled in joy.
"All it takes is the right moment." Jordan said smugly.
Suddenly at the temple, Windform noticed the feather shaking and glow
"Avias! Come quick!" He said as the white tengu saw the shaking and glowing feather.
"I don't believe it…Another Avian Spirit has awoken." he said in awe. Suddenly the quill shot out to where the battle was.
Nitro had just punched the Megazord to which it responded with a back hand.
"Why you!" He yelled as he was about to fire and the rangers braced themselves until they saw the glow.
"Huh? Where's the glow coming from?" Jordan asked.
"No idea. All I know is it is coming down!" Lincoln yelled as they braced themselves but what happened was the light shining through the megazord, a spectral bird forming with the quill materialising.
"Hold on…Is that? A blue jay?" Lincoln asked in confusion.
"I think so but what is it doing here? Drake asked.
Suddenly they all heard the voice of Avias.
"Rangers! As you can see, one of the avian spirits has awoken! Young Jordan, for showing a balance of patience and aggression, the Blue Jay spirit has awoken to serve by your side!" He said.
"Really?" She asked as the bird entered her chest and the quill formed in her hand.
"Yes. Call upon the Blue Jay spirit to help with your battle." He said.
"Let's try it out."
Jordan then placed the quill into the console and the rangers spoke.
"BLUE JAY SPIRIT! FLY OUT!"
They pointed as a tiny, robotic blue jay came fluttering out, screeching as it shot a large arrow at Zero-Nitro, sending him back.
"What?! Where did the bird brain come from?!" He demanded.
"From us. And you get to see it in action."
"BLUE JAY SPIRIT! FLY AS ONE!"
The spirit flew in circles around them as the tail feathers attached to the head, making a head and six more shoot out and go onto the back of their hands. The bird soon turned into a blue bow that the megazord held in its hand.
"TENGU MEGAZORD! ARCHER MODE!"
"Let's test this bad boy out!" Jordan said eagerly. Zero-Nitro was about to fire again but they were ready.
"Firing bow!" Drake ordered as the Megazord pulled back the cord and fired right into the muzzle. The arrow was lodged inside and soon the blaster exploded, leaving the arm destroyed.
"No!" He yelled as he held it.
"Let's end this!" Drake yelled as they pulled their levers down.
"POWER OF THE SKY!"
The arms pulled the bow back as the arrow head glowed blue and sharpened. A light soon pointed to the chest of Zero-Nitro.
"FINAL AIR STRIKE!"
They let go of the bow string and the arrow flew through the air, piercing the chest of the jinn. He began to spark as he began to teeter.
"OH, That was just cold!" He yelled as he fell over.
The Rangers all cheered.
"Oh, talk about a cool blow!" Lincoln said before he groaned. 'Oh, I've been hanging around Luan a lot!" He muttered.
"There there." Leni said as he patted his helmet.
"Jordan. I would like you to call it." Drake said.
"The skies have cleared, Rangers. We have landed a victory!' She declared. 'Now let's hurry back to my room before my parents find out!" She said in a hurry.
"Right. Let's take the Falcon Zord." Drake said as they all boarded the yellow falcon that had detached itself from the megazord and flew at high speed.
At Jordan's room, they all managed to get Jordan back on her bed and demorphed.
"Everything is back in order. Clone is gone. Jinn scrapped. And you're back here. So all in all…a good day." Lincoln said with a smile.
"Yeah. Guess Avias was right. I just had to wait for the right moment. And now, I have cool electric powers" Jordan said.
"So what are you gonna do now?" Leni asked.
"I'll just wait and relax. Can't rush this, now can I?" Jordan said with a smile.
They all laughed at her joke.
