Chapter Two

August 2nd, 2008

Day 2

Xandar awoke with a start. The night before was terrifying. After all, Chuck E Cheese knockoffs were trying to kill him. He rubbed his eyes with a groan. He was tired. Well, no, he was EXHAUSTED. He needed to speak with Bob. Maybe he could explain things to him.

Rolling out of bed, Xandar lazily got dressed and went downstairs to make dinner. As he cooked, he read the time. 4:00 PM. He thought back to his meeting with Bob. Bob seemed anxious, almost like he was hiding something. And he was.

Xandar had a thought of telling the police but decided against it. There were two reasons why. Reason one; he signed an NDA and could get in BIG trouble if he broke it. Reason two; he'd be seen as insane. Shaking his head, he focused on his late breakfast.

Freddy's was buzzing with activity. If it wasn't for the night before however, Xandar might actually have fun. He walked over to the front desk. The woman from yesterday, Charlie, was on her phone again. She looked up at Xandar and smiled. "Hey Xandar! How's it going?" She asked happily.

Xandar had several things he wanted to say. Why didn't you tell me? Was one. What the hell? Was another. But instead he said, "Tired. Didn't really sleep well."

Charlie nodded. "Well, the night shift will do that. But hey, at least you get free food!" She said still happy.

Xandar nodded. "Yeah. Food would be great." It was 7:30 and he was hungry. Even though he ate at four, he'd still need it for tonight. "Thank you," he added hastily.

"It's my pleasure," Charlie replied. She put in the order. As Xandar went to sit down he almost swore Freddy was looking at him. But looking back at the robot, Freddy was staring at the crowd.

"Yeah," Xandar muttered. "I'll see you tonight. You overgrown bear bastard," he swore silently. Charlie set down the plate of pizza. Giving a nod she walked away. Xandar grabbed a slice and began to eat. He decided to look at the show stage.

Freddy was done singing. "See ya soon!" He laughed cheerfully. He then looked at Xandar. "Very soon."

Night 2

Xandar approached Freddy's that night with a feeling of dread. It chilled him to his core, turning his blood ice cold. He brought a flashlight. Not that it would do him any good. He'd be staying in the office for the night.

He sat down in said office and took a deep breath. This was only his second night. He figured it would go smoother than the first night...he was wrong. The guy on the phone made mention of a fourth animatronic. Foxy. As Xandar checked the Pirate's Cove video feed, he saw a sign that read "Out of Order."

According to the phone guy, Foxy was out of order. But Xandar knew better. If there were three animatronics out and about, why wouldn't Foxy become active either? He was, again, correct.

Around 1:00 AM, Foxy peeked out of the curtain. Foxy had a loose, hanging jaw and exposed wiring. Xandar shook his head in pure annoyance. There was also one more thing. The restaurant ran on power and when that power ran out, everything shuts off. Including the doors.

Xandar saw his percentage. It read 88 percent. Shaking his head again he turned on the right hallway light. Nothing. He checked the left. Still nothing. He checked on Foxy again only to see that he was halfway out of the curtain. "Shit," Xandar cursed to himself.

He then heard footsteps on his right and checked the light. Chica peeked through the window. With a sharp gasp, Xandar slammed the door shut. 3:30 AM. 60 percent power. He waited a few minutes and checked again. She was gone. Opening the door, he checked on Foxy. He was still halfway out.

However, when he checked the corner camera where Chica would be, he saw a newspaper hanging on the wall. He rubbed his eyes in confusion and looked again. Just a list of rules.

He sighed again and turned on the Pirate's Cove camera. His blood ran cold when he saw the curtain all the way open and Foxy was gone. The sign read "Out Of Order." He closed the left door and turned to the West Hall camera.

Foxy ran through the hallway and then pounded on the door. Xandar checked his power and saw he was at 30 percent. 5:55. "Come on, come on, COME ON!" He practically yelled. After a few minutes of keeping the door closed the familiar alarm went off. It was 6:00 AM! As he left the office and the building he realized something...

He was lucky so far. But one question remained...how much longer could his luck last? And would it eventually run out?
