A/N: Nothing to say.
tiedwithribbons: Yeah, Whipback will be gone eventually. As for Soundwave and Ratbat, well we shall see.

~~~2 orbital cycles later
"What's on your mind?" Rainfall asked.
"Well, I'm getting closer to sparking. And I haven't heard from Megatronus at all," said Metalic.
"I'm sure he's fine," said Rainfall.
"I hope so," Metalic said.
"Come on, let's go see his creators. They may have heard something," the femme suggested.
Metalic nodded, getting up to go leave. The two femmes jumped off the ledge, hovering down to the ground. They walked to the edge of Vos, passing by the guards. Metalic stopped, helm cocked to the side.
"Met? What's wrong?" Rainfall asked.
"I hear crying," said Metalic, moving along the wall of the city. She stopped. "Oh Primus. Rain! Over here!"
The other femme came over, looking to see what her friend was looking at. There was two sparklings in a puddle, both seekerlets. By the looks, they were split-spark twins. One was blue and gold while his twin was green and silver. The two femmes picked up a sparkling, holding them closely.
"Who would abandon such cute sparklings?" Rainfall pondered.
"I don't know. I'm sure Ratch and 'Hide will know what to do. Who knows, maybe they will take them in," Metalic said.
The femmes took off, heading to Iacon on a shuttle. The dirty sparklings had felt safe, falling into recharge on the way. They got off at the edge of Iacon, taking another shuttle that took them close to the hospital. From there, they walked to the housing unit. Given the time, at least Ironhide should be home with the younglings. Metalic shifted the sparkling in her arms, knocking on the door.
Ironhide answered it, smiling at his guests and motioning them to come in. The two seekers sat on the couch while Ironhide took a seat across from them.
"'Hide," Metalic smiled.
"Nice ta see ya ta Metalic," said Ironhide. "What brings ya two around here?"
"Well, one thing became two. First though, what should we do with these sparklings? We found them abandoned outside of Vos," said Metalic. "Do you think it is possible that you can take them in?"
"Ah wouldn't mind more," said Ironhide. "Ratch' is sparked again, so Ah don't see a problem with taking in more. He should be getting home soon."
"Thanks," the seeker said. "Second, have you heard from Megatronus? I haven't heard anything in a couple orbital cycles."
"Nah, Ah hadn't," said Ironhide. "The new owner from what Ah hear is ruthless."
"That's why Megs sent me away," said Metalic. "I'm worried about him 'Hide."
"Well, let's see what's on the news," Ironhide said, turning on the holoscreen and flipping it to a live feed of the Kaonian Pits.
"It seems like Megatronus is in some trouble."
The screen showed Megatronus hovering over an injured Soundwave, shield on one arm while he wielded a sword above a fusion cannon on his right arm. Five larger mechs surrounded the lone gladiator. All five charged at the same time, Megatronus slipping into a perfect defense. With a swift movement, he beheaded all the mechs with a swing of his arm.
"And Megatronus has done it again! The winners are the reining champion and his new partner, Soundwave!"
"Well, he's still kicking," Ironhide laughed. "He's grown strong."
"Yes he has," said Metalic, glad that he was still alive. "Though that means Soundwave must have had his sparklings if he is fighting already."
"Most likely. Sparked gladiators aren't allowed ta fight," said Ironhide just as the door opened. "Welcome home love."
"Hello 'Hide," said Ratchet. "Oh, Metalic, Rainfall, what a pleasant surprise."
"Indeed," said Metalic.
"Ratch', how do ya think about havin' two more sparklings?" Ironhide asked, pulling his mate into his lap.
"You mean aside from the split-spark twins I already carry?" Ratchet asked in a teasing matter.
"Yep," said the red mech.
"I wouldn't object," said the medic.
"Good. Metalic, we'll take 'em," said Ironhide. Ratchet noticed the seekerlets, going straight to them.
"Oh Primus," the medic muttered, taking the two seekerlings to the washroom. "Let's get you two cleaned up."
The sparklings were awake, cooing up at the mech. Ratchet filled the tub up before placing the sparklings in. The two squealed in delight, loving the liquid that bathed them. Ratchet took a rag with some solvent on it and rubbed them clean. After 30 kliks, he took them out and dried them. They, however, wanted back in.
"Oh no you don't. We're going to get some fuel into you," said Ratchet, taking them to get some energon.
He filled up some smaller cubed for the sparklings. Then he filled up some more for Prowl, Barricade, Orion, 'Hide, and their guests, leaving extra ones for Metalic. Ironhide came over to help his mate with one of the sparklings.
"Who are they carrier?" Prowl asked, taking his cube.
"Your new siblings," said Ratchet.
"Logically speaking, you can't have seekers and it is too early for you to spark," said Prowl.
"We are adopting 'em Prowl," said Ironhide.
"Oh, that makes more sense," said Prowl.
"They're cute. Do they have names?" Barricade asked.
"Not of yet," said Ratchet.
"Then let's give them some," said Barricade. "I vote Dreadwing for the blue one."
"Skyquake would be fitting for his twin," said Orion.
"Dreadwing and Skyquake it is then," said Ratchet.
"Is he going to be okay?" Megatronus asked.
"Yeah. He's lucky to have you as well as climbing the ranks pretty fast," said Hyperspeed.
"Whipback is a fragger. How have the others been?" the silver champion asked.
"Not so good. They've been put in a lot of death matches, or in battles where they will lose and...… yeah. It isn't looking good," said EMT. "And on the downside, Senator Ratbat and Senator Proteus are supposed to be coming to the next solar cycle's matches. From what I heard, you and Soundwave are up against harder competition than this solar cycle."
"Slag it all to the Pit," Megatronus cursed. "I'll deal with it later. For now, get him fixed up."
The silver mech headed to the rec room, ignoring his own injuries for now. He grabbed a cube, filling it up and chugging the energon. He sat near Soundwave's minicons, Ravage curled around the twins. The blue and purple one was named Rumble while his red and black twin was Frenzy.
"How's carrier?" Ravage asked.
"He's being taken care of. However, tomorrow's match will be worse and Ratbat and Proteus are showing their ugly afts here to watch," said Megatronus.
The three eldest minicons looked at each other with concern. They knew about Ratbat's obsession with Soundwave. Luckily for them, Blaster had stopped by each night after his shift at the clubs and bars to help Soundwave control his telepathy. The two had grown closer to each other. Megatronus suspected that they were falling for each other without realizing it. They would be good for each other.
"Is he now?" Whipback questioned with glee. "Well, that is certainly interesting. Megatronus is also a one-percenter. Having the two go up against each other will prove interesting for sure."
"Yes," said Whiteout. "May the best one win Whipback. I wish you luck on tomorrow's match."
Blaster walked into arena stands. He noted how crowded it was, taking a seat near the edge. He had heard about Soundwave fighting and wanted to be there to make sure he would be okay. It wasn't a death match, but was at the same time. If a gladiator died in battle, then it was a bigger win for the other side. He just prayed that his crush would be okay.
"Mechs and femmes, we have reached the final round. Today we have Megatronus and Soundwave versus Lightspeed and Trigger," the announcer said.
In the arena, Megatronus and Soundwave faced two mechs. They didn't look like much at first, but Soundwave knew better. Lightspeed had enhanced speed while Trigger had extreme brute. His best chances were going up against Lightspeed while Megatronus took on Trigger. He relayed his thoughts to his partner, who nodded a bit in understanding. The bell rang and the four charged at each other.
"Soundwave?! You mean to tell me you had Soundwave?!" Ratbat screeched, glaring dangerously at Whipback.
"Back of my fighter. He's mine, not yours, Senator or not. You're not getting him," Whipback snapped back, arms crossed over his chest.
"Remain calm Ratbat. Remember, this is Soundwave's punishment for running away," Proteus reminded, not liking how Whipback had backtalked them however.
"Even if he survives, the injuries will be extensive," said Whiteout nervously to avoid pissing the Senators off more than they already were thanks to his fellow owner.
"Oh? Do tell," Ratbat said.
"Well, Lightspeed had an ability to render Soundwave to a cripple. And Trigger is a one-percenter, so his brute force will be above Megatronus' skills," said Whiteout.
"And what ability does Lightspeed have?" Proteus asked, intrigued now.
"Well, no one really knows what he does. Some have died because of it, others crippled for life," said Whiteout.
"Then I guess we will have to watch and see," said Proteus.
Soundwave grunted as Lightspeed jabbed his side. He let loose his tentacles, wrapping them around the mech. Lightspeed activated treads on his arms, forcing Soundwave to let go. The telepath tried to get the upper servo, knowing that if he didn't, it would be rather painful.
Lightspeed grabbed onto the mech's throat, giving it a squeeze and adding a bit of heat to it. Soundwave screamed, thrashing around. His voice box glitched and sparked. Lightspeed smirked before moving his servos onto his face, earning more screams.
Megatronus looked over at his friend, the one he saw as a brother. Anger and hate bubbled in his spark.
"Soundwave!" Megatronus screamed, groaning when he got a punch to the face.
"Your battle is with me," Trigger said.
Megatronus turned slowly to his opponent, bringing out his sword. He roared as he charged the mech. He got in a few hits with his sword and fusion cannon, but Trigger didn't seem too fazed by it. He grabbed the sword and the arm, ripping the weapon from where it was attached.
Megatronus screamed, his sword being dropped to the ground. He landed near it, curled up a bit. He had to play weak for a bit. It was his only chance of getting out alive. This mech he could tell was cocky and had a big ego. He grabbed his broken sword, gripping it so hard that it cut into his servo.
He gave a battle cry as Trigger hovered triumphantly above his opponent. The broken metal went under the armor, embedding deep into the stronger mech. Megatronus grinned. Intelligence and strategy had once again beaten strength. He kicked Trigger away, going to help Soundwave.
The telepath laid on the ground, motionless with smoke coming from his face. Megatronus' anger erupted, tackling the mech that dared to harm him. Lightspeed screeched with horror, not expecting the attack. He tried to cover his face, but it was useless. Megatronus tore his arms off, tossing them aside. He punched the offender repeatedly, not letting up, even as he cried for mercy and had given up.
Once the anger had cooled, Megatronus turned to Soundwave. He knelt next to him, examining him. Soundwave moaned, trying to speak, but static only came out. He could see a dark figure coming up behind Megatronus.
"Megatronus….. look out!" Soundwave warned with his gift.
Megatron scowled as his own sword went through his abdomen. He gritted his dentas as he touched it, spinning around quickly and shooting Trigger repeatedly until the mech fell dead.
"The winners are once again Megatronus and Soundwave!"
The silver mech ignored the cheering crowd, getting a glimpse of Blaster before he took Soundwave into his arms and to the medibay. EMT and Hyperspeed were at the ready, getting both mechs onto berths for repairs.
"Well, that was unexpected," Proteus said.
"Indeed it was. I was not expecting that," Ratbat agreed.
"Well gentlemechs, how about some high grade to celebrate the big win on credits?" Whipback suggested.
Ratbat shared a knowing look with his partner. They both nodded in agreement. Whipback took them to his office, taking out cubes of high grade. The two Senators sat down, drinking away with the owner.
"Whipback, I wish to inform you that you have crossed the Senate," Ratbat said calmly, optics flashing. "You are a troublemaker and a rebellious one at that."
"What? How?" Whipback asked. It dawned on him from what he said earlier with Soundwave. "Oh slag."
Ratbat took out a small case of powder. He dumped it into Whipback's energon, swirling it a bit. Whipback gulped nervously, looking at his drink.
"Now, why don't we finish our high grade together before we leave?" Ratbat said cheerfully.
"Sounds like a plan," said Proteus.
Whipback shook as he took his drink. He knew better than to disobey. He drank it. Nothing happened. Whipback shrugged it off, laughing. Nothing to worry about. The two Senators joined in laughing. They thanked the owner for the high grade before departing. If only Whipback knew what he drank. Soon, he would be taken care of. They had already thought of Darkstrike's brother as a replacement. The mech wasn't like his brother, or if he was, he was a dang good actor and hid it really well.
"Call up Airstrike. Tell him the position will be open soon enough," Ratbat said.
"And of Soundwave?" Proteus asked.
"Leave him here. He's too damaged now. Even I can see that," said Ratbat sourly. "I want to go home now. I shall see you later Proteus."
