Chapter 2 I Choose, the Bat!
Batman was interacting with strange creatures that he encountered when he was suddenly transported from his world to this strange world. Soon then there was rustling within the bushes that the strange creatures detected, and Batman also noticed something was coming. As Batman was readying to flick his Batarang that he was carrying in his Utility Belt, out from the bushes came a ten-year-old boy with a cap and another strange creature that was perched on his shoulder. Batman returned his Batarang to his Utility Belt and the ten-year-old cap boy with his strange creature approached Batman. As they were approaching the strange creatures were hiding behind Batman underneath his cape.
The ten-year-old cap boy introduced himself to Batman as Ash Ketchum and he introduced his strange creature Pikachu, his Pokémon partner and best friend to Batman. Batman was still confused, and Ash's Pikachu calls out to the Pokémon that were underneath Batman's cape. Ash Ketchum explains the strange creatures that Batman encountered are Pokémon and that Batman is in the world of Pokémon in the Alola region, on Melemele Island when Ash's Pikachu was playing with the wild Pokémon. When Batman introduces himself to Ash Ketchum & his Pikachu, Ash Ketchum observes and asks Batman if he was a Pokémon Trainer. While Batman was confused, Ash Ketchum explains to Batman about a Pokémon Trainer. Batman soon understands and Ash Ketchum offers a Pokéball if Batman wanted to catch the wild Pokémon which were a Yungoos, a Pikipek, a Caterpie and a Cottonee. But Batman senses that neither of them would be his Pokémon partner.
So, Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu help Batman to find his Pokémon partner. As they were leaving, Batman waved goodbye to the wild forest Pokémon and Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu waved goodbye to them too. Ash Ketchum & his Pikachu were helping Batman by looking around anywhere. They saw many different Pokémon on their search, but Batman wasn't impressed. They soon found a Pokémon Center to take a break from their searching. When Ash Ketchum, Pikachu and Batman arrived in Melemele Island's Pokémon Center, Batman asked Nurse Joy where he would stock up on supplies. Nurse Joy and everyone were intimidated with Batman's outfit and Ash Ketchum explains to Nurse Joy that Batman is a new Pokémon Trainer.
Nurse Joy told Batman to go to a Pokémon Professor's laboratory and Ash Ketchum guided him there. The Lab was a beach house and Ash Ketchum introduced Batman to Professor Kukui and Professor Burnet. Batman was invited into their home and Batman met Professor Kuki and Burnet's son Lei. Batman felt traumatized because of his loss of his parents back in his dimension universal world on Gotham City. Ash Ketchum checked on Batman and Batman said he was fine. Professor Kukui asked Batman his identity and Batman reveals his identity because he trusted Ash Ketchum, Professor Kukui and Burnet. Batman reveals himself as Bruce Wayne and tells them about his life as a superhero.
After Batman shared his story with them, Professor Kukui told Batman that he was the Masked Royal at the Battle Royal Dome. Batman was amazed with Professor Kukui's disguised outfit and pose. Soon Batman asks Professor Kukui for a Pokémon Trainer's license. Professor Kukui led Batman into his lab which was down in a basement and Professor Kukui gave Batman Pokéballs and Rotom Dex that Ash Ketchum used to accompanied. Batman was curious about Rotom Dex and asked Professor Kukui to borrow his computer for research. Professor Kukui granted Batman to use his computer for reaching and Ash Ketchum & his Pikachu ask to watch Batman doing his research. As he was doing his research, Batman explains to Ash Ketchum that he was a detective in his world on Gotham City.
Batman was researching the world of Pokémon like the different regions, the Pokémon, different phenomenon and Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Soon it was nighttime, and everyone went to bed, but Batman stayed up a little later to do more research before bed. As Batman was sleeping in the place as Ash Ketchum was, Batman asks Ash Ketchum how he met his Pikachu. Ash Ketchum told Batman the whole story and Ash Ketchum asked Batman about his disguise as a Bat. When Batman told his story, they soon slept in the night.
The next morning, Ash Ketchum, his Pikachu, and Batman got up and went out early in the morning for Batman to find a Pokémon partner. They search for hours and hours in the forest, but Batman was too persnickety on the Pokémon to being his Pokémon partner. Soon then, as Ash Ketchum, his Pikachu, and Batman decided to take a break, Batman fell down a pit cave. Ash Ketchum and Pikachu asked Batman was he okay and Batman got up and said he was okay. Batman tried to get out with his grappling gun, but the terrain was too steep, and Ash Ketchum and Pikachu went to get some help. As Batman was waiting down in the pit cave, he thought about his childhood about falling down a well and then his fear of Bats came upon him.
When he was frightened by his fear of Bats, Batman soon heard a something and he investigated with trembling. As he looked inside the pit cave, Batman encountered a Noibat on the ground. At first, Batman was scared but he soon observed and saw that the Noibat was in pain. As he overcame his fears, Batman revealed that Noibat was sick, and he needed help. Just when Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu arrive to get Batman out from the pit cave with an Alolan Exeggutor, Batman quickly used his grapple gun and taken the sick Noibat to the Pokémon Center. As Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu accompanied him, Batman arrives at the Pokémon Center and asks Nurse Joy to recover the sick Noibat and Nurse Joy treated the sick Noibat. Ash Ketchum congratulates Batman for overcoming his fear of Bats, but Batman said to him to save his applaud for later.
When the treatment was over, Nurse Joy handed the recovered Noibat back to Batman and told him to take care of it. As Batman wasn't so sure, Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu encouraged him to take care of Noibat. So, Batman takes the Noibat with him to take care of him. While caring for Noibat, Batman felt that he was bonding with him and the Noibat started to grow attached to him. After the Noibat was recovered, Batman decided to let the Noibat return to the cave where he had found him. Ash Ketchum and Pikachu accompanied Batman and Ash Ketchum asked Batman if he wanted to catch the Noibat. But Batman responded that the Noibat wanted to return home and follow his own life. As Batman was about to leave the Noibat, the Noibat swooped behind Batman underneath his cape. Batman soon notices that the Noibat was underneath his cape and was confused with him.
As Batman was confused, Ash Ketchum said to him that Noibat wanted to stay with him and become his Pokémon Partner. Batman asked Noibat if it was true and Noibat agrees with him. So, Batman took out one of his Pokéball and throws at the Noibat. Soon with a successful catch, Batman catches his first Pokémon partner and new friend, Noibat. But then, Noibat popped right out from his Pokéball and Batman was confused. Ash Ketchum explains to Batman that his newly caught Noibat wanted to be by his side. Batman looked at his Noibat and he accepted it.
