Chapter 3 We're Bat-ter Together
Batman and his newly caught and his first Pokémon partner, Noibat became best friends after he caught him. Strangely, Batman's Noibat likes to wear his Batsuit. Soon then, Ash Ketchum challenged Batman to a Pokémon battle to test his skills as a beginner Pokémon Trainer. Batman accepted his challenge and they both took their positions. Professor Kukui acted as the referee and before they could start their Pokémon battle match, Ash Ketchum asked Batman if he needed to know Noibat's moves. But Batman had done his research on Noibat's moves already with Rotom Dex's help. Just before they began, Professor Kukui announced the rules and Ash Ketchum and Batman were ready.
Ash Ketchum chose his Pikachu and Batman chose his Noibat since he was just beginning to be a Pokémon Trainer. Ash Ketchum started off by telling his Pikachu to use Quick Attack and Pikachu ran quickly. But Batman with his quick thinking told his Noibat to dodge and used Tackle. But as Batman's Noibat was about to charge at Ash Ketchum's Pikachu, Ash Ketchum told his Pikachu to dodge the attack and Ash Ketchum told his Pikachu to use Electroweb. Ash Ketchum's Pikachu forms an orange-yellow electric orb and then he flicks the orb that transforms into a circular yellow electricity net that was coming on to Batman's Noibat. Batman's Noibat trapped, slowed down and shocked by Ash Ketchum's Pikachu's Electroweb. As Ash Ketchum told his Pikachu to used Thunderbolt on Batman's Noibat, Batman was under pressure until he got a crazy idea.
Batman told his Noibat to use Supersonic that his Noibat lets out soundwaves from his mouth and ears to hurt Ash Ketchum's Pikachu ears. The soundwaves from Supersonic broke through the Eletroweb and Batman's Noibat was free from the Eletroweb. Batman told his Noibat to Gust and Ash Ketchum told his Pikachu to use Thunderbolt. Batman's Noibat's wings glow light blue and he flaps them at high-speed releasing a powerful gust of wind and Ash Ketchum's Pikachu releases a powerful yellow electricity bolt from his body at the same time. Both move clashes on to each other. But soon Ash Ketchum told his Pikachu to spin around on his back while still using Thunderbolt. Batman was confused and surprised by Ash Ketchum's technique and Ash Ketchum told him that he uses his Counter Shield tactic. The Counter Shield directly hit Batman's Noibat. Batman calls out to his Noibat out of concern and soon Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu were getting ready.
Ash Ketchum had his Z-Power Ring with him, he tosses his hat up and his Pikachu jumps up and he put his trainer's hat on his head. Ash Ketchum raises his right arm with his Z-Power Ring and he with his Pikachu strikes a synchronized pose series to build up their Z-Power. Batman and his Noibat were confused and shocked by what they were doing, Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu strike their pose and they were in absolute perfect sync together. When they were in full power, Ash Ketchum shouted out Ten Million Volt Thunderbolt and Ash Ketchum's Pikachu leaped up into the air. He absorbs electricity from dark storm clouds that had formed above him. Ash Ketchum's Pikachu then fires seven different colored electricity bolts at Batman's Noibat. Batman quickly told his Noibat to fly away but the Z-Move directly hit Batman's Noibat.
There was a huge and powerful explosion of electricity and after the outcome Batman's Noibat fainted. Professor Kukui declared Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu the winner and Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu cheered. Batman soon walks over his Noibat and his Noibat regains his consciousness. Batman empathizes with his Noibat and encourages him that they will win next time. Batman congratulates Ash Ketchum for his win with a friendly handshake. Ash Ketchum encourage Batman that he has exciting potential being a Pokémon Trainer. Batman smirked at Ash Ketchum and Ash Ketchum said to him that he has a lot to learn to become a Pokémon Trainer. Batman accepted Ash Ketchum's advice and he took his Noibat to the Pokémon Center for recovery. Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu accompanied Batman to the Pokémon center for Ash Ketchum to fully restore Pikachu from battle.
But when Batman's Noibat and Ash Ketchum's Pikachu were both fully restored and returned to Ash Ketchum and Batman there was havoc outside. Ash Ketchum, his Pikachu, Batman and his Noibat went outside to figure out what was going on. When they arrived in Hau'oli City's fruit market, there was the Team Skull Trio; Tupp, Zipp and Rapp and they were causing havoc by taking fruit. Ash Ketchum told Batman that they are bad guys who bully others into a Pokémon battle and Batman understood Ash Ketchum. When Ash Ketchum, his Pikachu, Batman and his Noibat stood right in front of the Team Skull Trio, Tupp, Zipp and Rapp were confused at Batman's outfit. After a confusing moment, Ash Ketchum chooses his Pikachu and Batman chooses his Noibat to battle the Team Skull Trio. Tupp chose his Salandit, Zipp chose his Garbodor and Rapp chose her Zubat and the Pokémon battle begins.
Tupp told his Salandit to use Venoshock, Zipp told his Garbodor to use Sludge Bomb and Rapp told her Zubat to use Bite on Ash Ketchum's Pikachu and Batman's Noibat. But Ash Ketchum told Pikachu and Batman told his Noibat to dodge the attacks, which they both did simultaneously. Ash Ketchum told Pikachu to use Quick Attack and Batman told his Noibat to use Supersonic. Ash's Pikachu's Quick Attack move directly hit Tupp's Salandit and Batman's Noibat's Supersonic struck Zipp's Garbodor and Rapp's Zubat. After the Team Skull Trio's Pokémon quickly regained their consciousness, Tupp told his Salandit to use Flame Burst, Zipp told his Garbodor to use Venoshock and Rapp told her Zubat to use Leech Life to attack Ash's Pikachu and Batman's Noibat. As Team Skull's Pokémon were getting close, Batman suddenly got an idea, and he told his Noibat to grab on to Ash Ketchum's Pikachu and dodge the attacks. Ash Ketchum thanked Batman for his idea, but Batman told Ash Ketchum to focus on the Pokémon battle.
But as the Team Skull Trio was about to say to their Pokémon, Guzma arrives with Plumeria. Batman asks Ash Ketchum who was Guzma and Plumeria and Ash Ketchum said that Guzma was Team Skull's boss and Plumeria was Team Skull Administrator. Guzma took out his Golisopod and challenged Ash Ketchum. Ash Ketchum almost accepts Guzma's challenge, but Batman offers himself to battle against Guzma. As Ash Ketchum wonders why, Batman told Ash Ketchum to focus on battling the Team Skull Trio and Ash Ketchum understood him. Ash Ketchum warns Batman that Guzma is a dangerous trainer that plays dirty, and Batman acknowledges it. When Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu continue battling the Team Skull Trio, Batman with his Noibat face off against Guzma and his Golisopod.
Guzma taunted Batman and Batman showed no response. Soon then Batman told his Noibat to fly up and Guzma told his Golisopod to use First Impression. Just as Batman predicted, he told his Noibat to use Supersonic on Guzma's Golisopod. Batman's Noibat's Supersonic directly hit Guzma's Golisopod but Guzma's Golisopod was resilient against Batman's Noibat's Supersonic due to its armor-plated claws. As Guzma's Golisopod endures through the Supersonic move, Guzma told his Golisopod to use Throat Chop. Guzma's Golisopod's Throat Chop directly hit Batman's Noibat on his neck. Batman calls out to his Pokémon Partner with concern and Batman's Noibat was fine, but he was in pain in his neck. Guzma told his Golisopod to finish off Batman's Noibat with Liquidation and Batman was under intense pressure on what move to make.
When Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu defeated the Team Skull Trio and tries to aid Batman in his Pokémon battle, but soon Batman suddenly got a crazy idea. As he remembers the Pokémon battle with Ash Ketchum, Batman told his Noibat spinning around while using Gust. Guzma was surprised and Batman told him that he learned the Counter Shield tactic from Ash Ketchum. As Batman's Noibat was continually spinning around while using Gust, soon the Counter Shield tactic became stronger. Batman's Noibat unleashed the powerful gust of wind at Guzma's Golisopod and Batman wondered what move that was. Rotom Dex who was watching the Pokémon battle analyzed the move and confirm that it was Hurricane. Batman cheers for his Noibat for learning a brand-new move, but Guzma was not ready to quit the Pokémon battle.
Guzma ordered his Golisopod to use Pin Missile and Batman told his Noibat to use Hurricane. Golisopod fires multiple light purple needles from within the gap between the armored plates on its back at Batman's Noibat and Batman's Noibat flaps his wings to create a powerful gust of wind against the Pin Missile move. Batman's Noibat's Hurricane move defect the Pin Missile attack and bounces back directly hitting Guzma's Golisopod. But still Guzma's Golisopod was resilient as it's Pokémon Trainer and Guzma told it to use Poison Jab. When Guzma's Golisopod ready one of its claw hand glow purples and about to charge at Batman's Noibat, Batman encourages his Noibat to give it everything he got. Soon Batman's Noibat claws glow light green aura that form around each of Batman's Noibat hands, and they turn into a claw-like shape, and he slashes at Guzma's Golisopod right when it also struck at the same time. After a moment's pause, Guzma's Golisopod collapsed on the ground.
Batman was speechless and then cheered for his Noibat for winning the Pokémon battle. As he embraced his Noibat, Ash Ketchum and his Pikachu came over and congratulated them for their first win. Guzma grudgingly returns his Golisopod back to its Pokéball and tells his team members to leave. When Team Skull left the Hau'oli City's fruit market, Batman asked Rotom Dex what new move his Noibat had learned. Rotom Dex confirms that his Noibat learned Dragon Claw and Batman appreciates his Noibat. Soon then, after Ash Ketchum, his Pikachu, Batman and his Noibat went back to the Pokémon Center to recover their strength, they went back home because it was sunset.
