Hey, Fairy Tail fans, and welcome back to a Fairy Tail re-told! Today, we begin Fairy Tail: The Tower of Heaven, one of my favorite arcs that got me into the series. This is one of the chapters that I hope benefits from the rewrite as I added back the Natsu and Erza conflict for the story. Anyway, please tell me what you think, and be sure to leave a review.

[##Lucy Ganbaru Ost##]

Lucy burst around on the sea shark Natsu behind her motion sickness, affecting him as the road on the water, Gray, and Happy played.

"get me off this thing," Natsu moved to cause Lucy to laugh.

"This was your idea."

Later, the group ran along the beach(because why not) as they ran up to the resort they were residing, which was known as Akine resort; it was one of Fiore's most popular vacation spots, where citizens could rest and relax in several ways, using the passes given to them by Loke and Mavis, Fairy Tail finally gets a well-deserved vacation and some fun in the sun.

"Finally, a chance to relax." Gray smiled, unaware that Juvia was watching them from a distance

"you are such a hunk, Gray," Juvia smiled.

"Give me back my bathing suit," Gray shouted, using Happy to cover his private area.

"No way," Natsu laughed as Happy cried for help.

"I don't think Happy like's being a shield, Gray," Lucy laughed as Juvia watched from afar behind them, giving off a warm smile. "Gray, you're such a hunk."

The Tower of Heaven

A group of ships rolls over the water, heading towards a large structure in the middle of the ocean; inside, a group of men and women in chains are forced off boats and put to work. Men with covered faces shout and beat them; many are tortured and locked in cages.

A little girl falls, which angers one of the men; she has red hair and begins to cry; a dog bark at her. Soon, explosions happened around her as she started to run.

"I told you," a voice calls out.

Someone stops and is blown away. "This world is a lie," the spokesperson said again.

The Girl is then seen on the beach, the light shining over her face, revealing her to be a young Erza Scarlett; she screams as tears run down her face.

Dream end

Erza shoots up and immediately looks around; she's back at the resort; her breathing and heat are going faster than ever as she calms down. She leans back in the chair and wipes away a stray tear before sighing. 'Just a dream,' she thinks as she stands up. Going to the restroom to splash some cold water on her face. 'what am I doing?' Erza whispered as she stood up and walked through her room.

"hey, you are you Erza Scarlet?" a woman asked

"Umm, yes," Erza asked

"Well, it's your lucky day. Someone paid for you to go to Akine Resort."

"Why did I agree to this?" Erza whispered. "Oh yes," she muttered

Flashback

"Lucy"

"What a surprise," Lucy smiled. "I promise I had no idea you were here."

"I see," Erza said as she walked over to her, "so you and Natsu are here."

"and Gray and Happy," Lucy added as she looked the woman over. "You still have your armor on," Lucy asked as Erza nodded.

"I'm more relaxed with it on," Erza admitted

"but doesn't it feel clanky," Lucy asked.

"I guess," Erza pondered, "maybe I need to redefine my terms of relaxing." Erza changed out and took off her armor, getting a reaction from Lucy.

End Flashback

Erza leaned back, thinking about what Lucy had told her. Natsu had reformed Fairy Tail. It had been four years since everything fell apart since Fairy Tail fell apart 'Phantom's disbandment must have scared Mavis," Erza reasoned 'It was the only reason she would reform Fairy Tail' she looked over to her things, rummaging through them before pulling out a small photo folding it open it was a picture. It was her, Natsu, Mira, Lisanna, Elfman, and Happy. Natsu had an arm around Lisanna as both smiled. She then let her attention go to the other person in the image. 'All because of you,' she whispered as she looked at Laxus, their leader. They were a team, and a part of her considered them her family. Her hands started to clench as she began to crumble the photo but stopped folding it back as she placed it down before lying back. "Maybe I should go out and try to be fancy." She stood up, her body glowing as she changed into a dress, looking at herself in the mirror. "I mean, I can enjoy myself.

"The Akine Resort casino is open all night, so be sure to come and play."

Erza smiled as she walked through the place.

"Erza," a voice called as Erza turned to see Lucy in a beautiful red dress running up to her

"what are the chances: Lucy laughed

"Oh, Lucy," Erza muttered, "What are you doing here?"

"Loke and the others gave us passes so we can vacation." Lucy smiled. "What are you doing here?"

"It was a gift." Erza said, "I'm sorry, I need to." she stopped when Lucy grabbed her arm

"come on," Lucy said. "I just want to talk."

Down in the casino, people were eating food and playing games. Natsu had found himself at the gambling one. "Come on, 17," Natsu shouted as Happy flew behind him.

"don't be mean, seventeen." Soon, the two numbers landed on seventeen; however, before the last one did, it changed to sixteen, causing Natsu to land on the floor.

"damn it," Natsu shouted before hopping up, "I guess, well, go again."

behind them, Gray, who, unlike Natsu, was dressed in a red shirt (for once), was playing a game of cards; turning around, he smiled as he watched Natsu keep losing so much that he didn't notice. Juvia approached.

"Gray, my darling," he looked up to see the woman in question in a blue dress, "do you remember Juvia."

"Yeah," Gray snarled, "you, that chick from Phantom."

Lucy and Erza had found a bar, thankfully out of sight from Natsu so that they could talk. She ordered them some drinks as Erza looked away, wanting to leave as Lucy sat next to her. "you just ran away so fast last time I saw you." Lucy said as she smiled at her, "So I was worried."

"oh no, I'm fine," Erza said. "no need to worry."

"But I am worried," Lucy admitted, "every time I see you, you're alone."

"Well, maybe I like being alone," Erza said. "That way, no one can hurt you."

"Is this about Natsu?" Lucy asked as Erza looked away. She sighed, "Look, Erza, I want you to join Fairy Tail."

"What!" Erza screamed

"come on," Lucy said. "Look, I know we don't know each other very well, but I want to," she said. "It's clear you and Natsu care about each other."

"I could give a damn about him," Erza shouted. "Everyone in that damn time, if I'm honest," Erza shouted as she stood up. "They know what they did. They choose their side." She started to leave as Lucy grabbed her arm. "let me go, Lucy."

"if you don't care," Lucy whispered. "Then why did you come back?" she asked. "Why did you rush to my father's house when I went to confront him?"

"Lucy"

"no!" Lucy shouted. "please Erza,"

Natsu, having failed again, "This game is screwing with me."

"Um, sir," one of the waiters said, "Is everything okay."

Natsu was about to fill up with anger but let out a breath instead, "everything's fine." he said, banging his head on the counter. "I have the worst luck in this kind of game."

"Aye"

"dandy," a voice called out to Natsu, and Happy turned to see the man. "I see," he said.

"Who are you," Natsu asked.

"let's just say," he gave off a wicked grin. "I'm one if two people." Before Natsu could blink, two blocks surrounded him, slamming him into the machine; he created a gun from his hand and smiled.

Gray and Juvia had moved to a bar and began talking. "I heard Phantom disbanded," Gray said as Juvia nodded. "I'm sorry."

"No, don't be," Juvia said. " Juvia is glad phantom is gone." Juvia looked away and smiled, "This past month, Juvia has learned a lot about herself now that the rain is gone." she looked to the ground, "now that she is no longer in Phantom's shadow.

Gray smiled, "Yeah, I can see."

"Juvia wanted to know something," Juvia asked, "why don't you join a guild."

Gray laughed, "well, I guess I don't like to be tied down," he answered, "Solo wizarding lets you have more freedom."

Juvia couldn't help but smile. "In Phantom, Juvia and her guildmates could only take on jobs meant for them, and it was hard to form friendships."

Gray smiled. "Well-"

Before he could finish, a man walked up behind him. "Gray Fullbuster," he said, causing Gray to turn to face the man; he was a tall, well-built man whose face was covered by a giant skull helmet; he had an eye patch on his eye as he looked at Gray with killer intent before Gray could answer an explosion went off.

"what's that?" Erza asked

"Sounds like screaming," Lucy whispered. "Maybe it's the parade."

"Maybe," Erza whispered.

Gray and Juvia stood up as the man stood beside them. "Juvia, you, all right."

"Where's Erza," the man asked.

The blockheaded man still had Natsu pinned down. "Come on, sing."

"Erza," Gray asked. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"why the hell would I know where she is?" Natsu shouted,

"Something's wrong," Lucy said. "We need to find Natsu and Gray."

"you might be right."

"Leaving so soon," a voice called. "Your drinks are here," he said, handing them the drinks and looking at her. She nearly jumped in shock as she looked at the words reading 'death.' As she looked up, her eyes widened. It was like seeing a ghost.

"Sho," Erza whispered, "you're alive."

"So, you do remember me," Sho asked.

"I-I." Erza was frozen in her seat as Lucy looked confused.

Meanwhile, Gray was still dealing with the strange man. "Like hell, and I'd never tell you where Erza is," Gray said as he got into a fighting stance.

Before he could continue, the man stopped. "I see, so you found her," he said, "I'll clean up things here."

He turned back to Gray and Juvia, who stood before the lights went off. "What happened," Gray asked.

"This is the magic of dark lineage," the man said, "{dark moment}."

"What happened?" Happy shouted. "Natsu, where are you."

"I'm right here," Natsu said as the blockhead man laughed. "It's over," he said.

"No way," Natsu said before a gunshot, scaring Lucy and Erza. When the lights came back on, Sho was gone. "Where'd he go," Erza asked as she looked around.

"behind ya," Sho said as he let cards fall to the ground, which he revealed to have people trapped inside.

"what," Erza said. "You can use magic now," Erza asked.

"Yeah, you're not the only one with powers anymore," Sho responded.

"who taught you that," Erza asked.

"Meow," a voice called out before something wrapped around Lucy, trapping her.

"Millianna," Erza asked.

"Well, aren't you all rosy," Millianna said, "Long time no see Erzy-werzy."

"You too," Erza asked in complete shock; she looked at Lucy, who was still trying to get free, "Stop, Lucy isn't a threat." she looked back. "She's a friend of mine.

"friend," Millianna said.

"We were friends," Sho said, "don't you remember, we were great friends until you betrayed us." Erza froze before looking away; Lucy stopped and struggled to look at Erza, who couldn't look her in the eyes.

"give the dame a break," a voice called, revealed to be the man who attacked Natsu, "keep everything in check, and everything will be real dandy."

"Wally," Erza asked, "is that you."

"Yeah," Wally answered. "I've changed a lot over the years, so I look different now."

"you know magic, too," Erza asked.

"Why are you so surprised?" a voice called as the man who had attacked Gray appeared behind her. "It's not so hard once you get the hang of it."

Erza turned, and her eyes widened in shock, "Simon," she muttered.

"It's been a while," he said as Millianna pushed Lucy to the ground.

"Erza, who are these people," Lucy asked as the rope tightened, "why is he calling you sister."

Erza looked away from her friend. "he's not my brother, but we all grew up together." Erza turned to look at the people she grew up with. "I'm begging you, let Lucy go now," she asked. "She has nothing to do with this."

"Who cares," Sho said, "We came to take you back."

Wally smiled as his arm turned into a gun again. "No," Erza shouted; the gun appeared behind her and shot her in the back, knocking her out.

"Erza!" Lucy screamed, "Somebody help!" her calls were in vain as Natsu and Gray were knocked out.

"You might want to calm down," Millianna said as she tightened the rope. "Any minute, you'll be all twisted like a yummy pretzel."

"Natsu and Gray will stop you."

"Those two," Simon said, "were nothing but talk."

"what," Lucy asked in shock, "you mean there."

"Yeah, sleeping the big sleep," Wally told her, "oh Millianna, I snagged something for ya," he made Happy appear in his hands, who was asleep.

Millianna then went crazy as she started to run around, tossing Happy into the air, "Kitty of my very own."

"Come, time to go," Simon said as the group started to leave.

Sho was now crying as he smiled, "Sis, I can't believe it; you're finally coming home to the tower of heaven."

"NO," Erza muttered as she started to come too, "they were able to finish building it."

"Get back here!" Lucy shouted as she tried to break free before the group teleported away.

"Damn it," Lucy shouted as she rolled around. "I need to get free." Lucy rolled around before her keys fell out. "Yes {open gate of the giant crab: Cancer." Lucy waited, but Cancer never appeared. "What fine {open gate of the giant bull: Taurus}" Nothing happened again. Lucy looked around" damn it; these ropes must block my magic," someone poked her, "huh," Lucy turned around to see the guy in the fish costume with a knife in hand.

"Oops, sorry," he said. "I am trying to see if I could get out of here." People then started to try the same as Lucy thought of something.

"wait, you're in the card, but I still felt it," Lucy leaned, "Hey, wait," she asked, "do you think you could cut these ropes."

"huh, well, I'll give it a try." Lucy rolled over as the ropes tightened some more. She screamed in pain as her hands and feet were nearly touching. "Hold on," the man said as he tried to cut the ropes, eventually getting through, and Lucy shot up "shit, that hurt," Lucy murmured.

"hey, know you think you can get us out," the man asked. However, Lucy picked him up and kissed his card. "Thanks, but I gotta run. I'll be back."

"I hope that guy was lying," Lucy said as she ran. "Natsu Gray, please be okay. Erza needs us," Lucy thought about how happy Erza looked; she had never seen her smile so much. "Hold on, Erza, we're coming." She found Gray's room, and he was on the ground. "Gray," Lucy shouted; she ran up to him, "are you okay," Lucy asked, but as soon as she touched Gray, he froze and broke apart.

"Gray!" Lucy shouted, "Hold on; I'll put you back together." As she tried and failed, Juvia appeared beside her, scaring her.

"don't worry, everything will be all right," Juvia said as she looked at Lucy.

"wait, I know you," Lucy said, "you're with Phantom."

"Lucy, wait," a voice called as Juvia lifted, revealing Gray, who was hiding under her. "She's not our enemy anymore," Gray said.

"huh," Lucy asked.

"Juvia pulled her precious Gray inside her." Juvia smiled. "What's the matter? Lucy, are you mad 'cause Gray was inside Juvia and not you?"

"Before that guy attacked me, Juvia saved me," Gray explained. "I'm just glad she was here, but that trick left us unable to strike back."

Juvia faltered as Lucy laughed as Gray took off his shirt. "Now what? You know where that creep ran off."

"No, they grabbed Erza, too," Lucy said.

Natsu then shot up, letting out an enormous roar; the group ran over to him as he managed to stabilize himself. He spat out a bullet that landed on the floor with a thud.

"Natsu, you okay," Gray asked.

Natsu let out a cough wiping his mouth as he faced his friend, "what type of Jackass shoots a guy in the mouth" Natsu moaned. "I mean, someone could get hurt."

The group deadpanned. "Umm, Natsu, that would kill a normal person," Lucy sighed as Natsu's eyes looked to the left. "come on, Erza and Happy are in trouble."

"yeah, they did ask for her," Natsu looked around. "forget her. Come on, we gotta find Happy," he said." I already have their sent," Natsu said

"huh," Lucy said.

"I got a nose for prey that'll put wild animals to shame." Natsu then ran off. "I'm coming for ya, blockhead."

[##Jellal theme##]

Miles away at the place known as the Tower of Heaven, its twisted body and sporadically jutting sides, the Tower of Heaven appeared very chaotic and asymmetrical. The tower's bottom and main body comprised overlapping and intertwining lengths of metal tubes wound together from the ground and straight into the sky. These giant pipes were held together through a series of smaller lines that linked the main sections and many different-sized and shaped golden decorations that looped over and around the tower frame, adding to its unruly presentation. Around the main form of the building, a twisted staircase wound, rising around the tower and leading to the throne room at the top. Where a man covered by a cloak sat.

Another man appeared from the ground and approached him. "Master," he said, "We just received word that the mission to receive Erza was a success; they are returning as we speak."

"Good," the man spoke.

"if I may," he asked, "why are we capturing her? Wouldn't it make sense to kill her?"

The man laughed, " as it stands, Erza is too much of a threat to be left alive," he stated, "however, she will still prove useful, the perfect sacrifice, to make my dreams flesh and bone."

On the ship, Erza came to; she looked around and saw Sho standing over her. "Good, you're awake," he said, "we're heading to the tower of heaven."

Erza sighed before looking down, " I see. You can unite me. I won't cause any trouble."

"Sorry, but you've proven yourself untrustworthy, "Sho told her coldly.

Erza looked down. "At least let me re-equip back into my armor," Erza said as Sho hugged her.

"Why'd you do it, sis," he asked her, ignoring her previous request, "why'd you betray Jellal."

This sudden outburst of anger took Erza aback as she remembered the boy who used to be her friend, 'Jellal.'

Flashback

Erza, Sho, Simon, Wally, and Millianna stood in their cell years ago. "Come on," Sho said,

"they'll catch us if we're too loud," Wally said.

"you're louder than him, ya know, Wally," Millianna said as Wally giggled while his cheeks turned pink.

"come on, we have to go," Simon said to a frightened Erza.

"I don't know, guys," Erza said, "what about everyone else."

"it'll be fine," a voice called; she turned to see a boy who looked like a younger Siegrain. "We'll get through this, but you have to trust me." he extended his hand, which Erza accepted, giving off a smile.

It's good to be back, like the roadmap says. I'll try to finish this by the end of the week or at least by the start of December anyway; tell me what you think in the comments, and remember to live on

Lucy: Man, I hope Happy and Erza are okay

Natsu: don't worry. They'll be fine

Lucy: and I take it you have a plan

Natsu: of course, we're going with old plan T
