Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to a fairy tail re-told. Today, we begin the Fairy Tail Returns arc. which is taking the place of the X791 arc this time around. As the chapter title suggests, this arc details the return of Fairy Tail, so let's get into the story.
Sorry for the late upload stuff that happened with school, but here I am, and I could get this chapter out before the end of the day. I have been looking forward to posting this chapter as well. It was a little emotional, and I hope you all feel the same.
Last time on a fairy tail re-told
Wendy: It's been seven years
Lily: Time does fly
Wendy: I know it's so unreal
Lily: What do you mean
Wendy: Nothing, don't worry about it
Magnolia was once known as the city of magic. Now under the thumb of one of the many guilds in Fiore after the disappearance of Fairy Tail and the remaining children, the town found itself without any means of keeping a guild from setting itself up in its streets, in which many of the wizards that had made their home here were forced to flee or join the guild that came into town. Those who fled have since scattered across Fiore, making the city a shallow version of what it used to be. Today, we find Wendy, a former member of Fairy Tail, making a rare visit to her former home under the cover of a dark blue hooded cloak with simple traveler clothes to blend in.
'January 8th X791' Wendy had opened up her small journal. It had been a while since she had made an entry. 'As of this year, it's been seven years since Tenrou Island.' Wendy sighed, "And two months since the infinity clock incident. Thankfully, nothing significant has happened in the following months, so all I've had is my own thoughts, ' Wendy sighed, stopping before she heard what sounded like crashing stopping. Wendy looked over to see what looked like some guild wizards harassing an old shopkeeper.
"Please, sir," the shop lady asked.
"You know exactly why we're here," the man shouted. It was the Twilight Oger member Thibault, and behind him were his goons. "Your guild fees are late," he cried as a few men behind him laughed as they continued to trash the shop lady's store, knocking down some fruit that rolled over to Wendy's foot. The girl sighed as she closed her journal, placing it in the back pocket.
"I thought the guild master said he would give me more time," she asked. "My store ran on magic and."
"And nothing," Thibault said, "your town would have fallen apart if we never showed up when we did." he smiled, "You are in our depts."
"We were fine long before your guild came here," she grumbled
"Careful what you say," Thibault said. "We might have reason to believe that you know the location of the solo wizards that fled from here," he said, smiling. "It's their fault you are in this position," he said, "All we ask is a little fee every month for our continued protection of your fair town."
"Oh no," a voice called, "I think something is happening at the guildhall."
"What," Thibault said as his goons stopped, "we'll be back, and you better be ready to pay," he shouted as she ran out, knocking down a stand on his way out as the shop lady let out a sigh of relief as Wendy walked up to her.
"Here," she said, "this should cover what you need," Wendy told the woman, giving her a warm smile, some of her blue hair coming out of her hood.
Fairy tail returns
"Wait," she asked. "Wendy," she said in shock, "what are you doing here," Wendy said nothing, giving her a wink as she picked up some of the stands, placing the fruit where they went, "I thought all you fled after Twilight Oger forced you out."
"Yeah, we did," Wendy said as she noticed some flowers. "I'll take some flowers, " Wendy said, handing her the money. "Keep the change, and I was never here, okay," she told her as the shop lady nodded. "Stay safe," she said as she left her eyes fixating on the cardia cathedral. Let's get this over with," Wendy muttered as she walked away. Walking to the building, 'I'll have to keep my head down,' Wendy said, 'those goons will be looking for me. She walked past the building to the graveyard near it and up to the grave of Lisanna Strauss.
"Hey, Lisanna," Wendy whispered as she bent down and began cleaning the grave; this had been her tradition since she returned. Someone would need to visit Lisanna's grave. She fixed the photo of Natsu, Mira, and Elfman that she had placed there, so in a way, they were there with her. She replaced the flowers with the recent ones she had just bought as she stood up, whispering a small prayer.
"Lisanna, I hope you and Natsu were reunited," she whispered. There were times when she wondered that somehow, or at the very least, Natsu was transported to Edolas when Acnologia attacked. He ended up with Edolas Lisanna and the Edolas version of herself that, in a way, he was happy. Shaking the thoughts from her head, she smiled at the idea. She figured they would search for a way to return to Earthland. But in the end, they would be forced to start over there without magic. However, another part of her hoped that everyone who died on Tenrou Island would be reunited with any loved ones they had lost.
The thought of Natsu being able to spend the rest of his life being happy, no longer having to worry about his duties, brought a smile to her face. However, she was still disappointed that she could not protect his home and failed to step up as she should have, though she promised herself that one day, she would take back Magnolia no matter the cost. Then Natsu would finally be able to rest. She could finally say goodbye, and they could eventually go and be happy.
"Even though you all had to leave me behind."
In shirotsume, Kinana stood at the bar, having just handed Max some food as he passed through town. She smiled as the doors to the pub doors opened. "Welcome to the dragon pub," she stopped when she recognized the person walking through. "Jet," she asked Lily, who was at the bar and looked up, smiling, seeing the two. It had been a while
"Hey Kinana" these days, Jet donned a high-collared dark shirt, with light edges and sleeves reaching down below his elbows, adorned by a motif reminiscent of a wing and two resembling large leaves, respectively, on the right part of the collar and the upper parts of the sleeves, under a cuirass-like cloth covering the lower part of his chest, held up by two light bands passing over his shoulders he smiled at her "how ya has been."
"It's good to see you again," Droy said. Coming from he had gained a lot of weight over the years, Kinana noted he was in a light, short-sleeved jacket over a dark shirt with rolled-up light sleeves, which seemed to have a dark-collared light undershirt or A-shirt below it, pants covered in light and dark rhombs, and dark shoes.
"I've been doing great; what brings you here," Kinana asked.
"Oh," Jet said, "We got your message two months ago, but we couldn't make it over." he smiled, "Sorry about that." he laughed, "figured we could still stop by to see how you all were doing."
"No, it's alright," Kinana said, "we are spread pretty thin." she laughed. "Most of us travel to different countries to get work, so it's understandable."
"Yeah," Jet said
"Is everything okay, Kinana?" Droy asked, "You seem distracted?"
"Well," Lily said
"Umm," Kinana muttered
"All that food is starting to catch up with ya, Droy," Laki said from across the room. She was sitting with Reedus, who was currently painting her picture.
"If I didn't know any better," Droy said with a hint of anger, "I'd say you were calling me fat."
"Dude, look at Reedus," Jet shouted. "The dude slimmed down a lot since we left Magnolia," Reedus had slimmed down and was wearing a dark vest over a light shirt with rolled-up sleeves, dark pants, and striped shoes with plain tips. Around his neck is a large and light-colored ribbon. He wears a dark top hat with a light band around it and a pair of glasses-like goggles on his eyes.
"Well," Reedus admitted, "I was never fat," he laughed as he continued painting Laki, "After I gave up being a wizard master, Makarov's giant spell finally wore off," he laughed, "so these days, I'm skinny."
"And you are still an excellent painter," Laki added
"You can say that again," Max said as he stood next to the man painting, "Can you do me next."
"Of course," Reedus said
"I'm not fat," Droy shouted, "look at these muscles."
"Man, the standard must have dropped," Kinana muttered
"Come on," Droy muttered as he started to leave, "I'm not fat."
"Hey, come on, man," Jet said as his friend walked out the doors before letting out a defeated sigh, "I thought."
"Jet," Kinana asked, concern in her voice.
"Ever since Levy," he whispered, "I think her disappearance affected him more than he wanted to let on."
"I'm sorry," Kinana said
"No, don't be," he said, "just be ready to make it up to him."
"I'll get the fire going," Kinana joked, "but know that Miko is going to charge you up the alley for all the foods he's about to eat."
"There goes my wallet," Jet muttered.
"And Voila," Reedus shouted, "and here it is," he said as he handed the painting to Reedus as Laki gave him some Jewel. "Thank you, Miss Laki."
"Any time," Laki said
[## fairy tail main theme piano ver. ost##]
"Well, I," Reedus stopped when his sketchbook slipped from his pocket, some drawings coming out, some of which were pictures of Natsu, Lucy, Erza, Mirajane, Levy, Cana, Gildarts, Happy, Carla, and Evergreen, who was with Freed and Bickslow. There were many different group paintings among them. One was when Natsu, Lucy, Erza, and Gray became fairy tales to pictures of Natsu and Mira, even some of them as a group. As Reedus bent down, picking up the sketches, "Sorry," he muttered.
"No," Kinana said, forgetting about her recent task and picking up a few tears, "Hard to believe it's been seven years."
"Time sure does fly," Lily muttered, looking out the window, "I think Wendy still has nightmares about it," he said
"Acnologia" Kinana asked
"Yeah," Lily said, remembering waking up on the council ship and how he and Wendy saw the dragon flying away from the Island, the tears she shed, "it's probably why she went off by herself this morning."
"We should hang this somewhere," Kinana said, trying to gain a smile. She had picked up the painting of Natsu and Mira. "They meant so much to us."
"They had to have survived," Max said, "right."
"The Ethernano levels were off the charts," Laki said, standing up and looking away. "No human alive could have survived an attack like that." It was heartbreaking, but she went out there. You could feel the amount of ethernano in the air. It was so bad they had to wear unique masks to avoid breathing too much.
The doors busted open as Droy ran inside. "Guys," he said, trying to catch his breath, "Something coming," he screamed as the place started to shake. People came outside to see the Christina coming overhead. "It's a ship with a horse," he shouted.
"That's Christina," Kinana said. "Why is blue Pegasus here," she asked
"Man," Ichiya shouted as he jumped from the ship, crashing into the ground and scaring everyone but Kinana and Laki
"That man has a high pain tolerance," Laki muttered
"You know," a voice called, "there are easier ways to get off the ship, boss." It was Hibiki. He was in the middle of a bubble that Rin had made; next to him was Eve, and Warren seemed to be with them as well
"Such as using my air magic," Rin told him as they landed on the ground. Ichiya stood up, completely unfazed
"Long time no see, everyone," Eve said, "how are you all doing."
"Nice to see you guys again," Warren said, "You won't believe the news we have for you."
"Laki," Hibiki said, "my, you seem to get more beautiful every time I see you."
"You hot," Rin said, looking away, pretending to hide his blush, "for a girl with glasses."
"Would you like a little brother," Eve asked.
"Umm,"
"Kinana," Hibiki said, leaving a confused Laki behind, "do you have plans tonight."
"You look too beautiful in that dress," Rin said, following his lead
"How would you like a little brother," Eve said not far behind
"Ichiya," Lily asked the man as he walked beside him, "is something wrong."
"Quite the contrary," Ichiya said. "I came to get some smiles," he said as he faced the wizards, "for Blue Pegasus will never forget the sweet perfume of friendship we have created," he screamed, "Now, men, tell them what you have learned."
"A few months ago, we detected high amounts of Ethernano activity in the ocean," Hibiki said, "so we were sent out to investigate."
"Oh, that's what you were doing during the infinity clock crises," Laki asked.
"Yes," Eve said, "In fact, thanks to that event, the amount of Ethernano in the area went down a considerable amount," he explained, "so much so that the airwaves returned to normal, then we detected something," he said, "something big."
"You ready for this," Ichiya said. "Tenrou Island still exists."
[##Blue Pegasus ost##]
"What?" came the shocked replies from everyone present, "What do you mean Tenrou Island still exists."
"Exactly how it sounds," Ichiya said, "it's the only possible explanation for the high amounts of magic power in the area."
"he's right," Lily said. "Tenrou Island had a high amount of magic power you could feel from miles away," Lily told them. "If what they're saying is true, then there's a chance the Island still exists." he let them mule over his words, "a chance that everyone there is still alive."
"Kinana," the voice of Miko caught their attention, "are you alright?" The girl in question had frozen her mind, going a mile a minute where she stood before a smile came over her face.
"I'm going to take you up on that vacation offer," was all she said as she started to look into the distance next to her. Lily smiled as a feeling came over her as if there was a slight chance they could be out there. She would take it. She would bring them home. "I'm going," Kinana said. "Who's with me," she asked.
"I'm in," Laki said
"Me too," Jet said
"I'll come," Droy said with food in his mouth
"You bet," Max said
"Do you even need to ask," Lily said
"Alright," Kinana said
"Wait," Jet said, "don't you want to go find Wendy," he asked.
"No," Kinana said, "we don't have time," she lied. At the same time, she believed that Ichiya had found Tenrou Island, but she wouldn't plant that false seed of hope. "Besides, I want to see her face when we bring them home." A rare smile came across her face. "So we need to move now," she screamed as everyone cheered. She then turned to Ichiya. "We need to contact Freed and Bickslow," Kinana said. "They should be able to help us get out there.
"Right," everyone said
"Thank you," Kinana said
"Don't mention it," Hibiki said. "I wish we could do more, but."
"No," Kinana said, "you guys have done enough for us," Kinana laughed, smiling at him. "Let us take it from here."
Hours later, Kinana, along with Freed, Bickslow, Warren, Laki, and Max, all stood on a ship they had purchased to take them to where the trimens they had said Tenrou Island should be. Laki stood in front of a pair of binoculars in hand. "You guys see anything," she asked. Everyone shook their heads. The sea around them was mainly quiet, the only sounds of the birds that would fly by ship or the wind passing through the sails. "We're heading in the right direction, right," she asked.
"Of course," Freed said, overlooking the map, "this is the exact spot that Blue Pegasus marked for us." he showed off the map. "Tenrou Island has to be in this location," Freed said. Like them, he was enthusiastic about finding Tenrou Island a chance to see Evergreen and even Laxus again. He wouldn't go back until they searched every inch of the location that Blue Pegasus found. "We need to remain patient; we'll find something eventually," Freed told her as she nodded, "have you picked up anything on your telepathy. Warren," he asked.
"No," he said, "not a thing." Behind them, Kinana and Lily said nothing. "I feel kind of bad for having to leave Wendy behind."
"We need to be ready for the worst-case scenario," Kinana said. "It's the grim truth, but it's been seven years; no one knows what could have happened in this time," she said. It sucked and hurt, but she had to admit there was a chance they all were injured and died on the Island. "I'm not going to do that to her," she said, "she just started to get over their disappearance. I won't force her to find her dead friends. "Kinana let out a sigh. "No, at worst, I'll just have to be the bearer of bad news, but at least we can have some closure," Kinana said. While everyone wanted to hope for the best, they had to admit she was right. They had to expect the worst.
"We're going to see Levy," Jet and Droy celebrated, "Team shadow gear is going to be getting back together."
"Well, at least some of us can have our hopes up," Lily said as Kinana stepped forward. "Is something wrong?"
Kinana said nothing, the wind blowing in her hair. A feeling came over her; she could feel something. "Turn left," she muttered.
"What," Freed asked
"I don't know," Kinana said, "but I have a feeling it's so weird, but it's like a voice is calling to me." After hearing this, Freed nodded to Bickslow as he followed the girl's instruction as they went through the water. Kinana would tell them to change directions before the wind came to a dead halt and the sea around them going into a dead calm. "This is odd," she asked.
"Is it just me, or is it getting a little hot," Laki asked, "and what happened to all the birds."
[##Mavis' Grave ost##]
Another feeling washed over Kinana as she looked behind her. Zera stood there smiling at the young girl as she soon vanished. "Who was that," she asked as a bright light caught her attention under the water, and a light started to come forth. "That's Mavis Mark," Kinana muttered. As a large amount of magic power entered the air as the water began to move, a blinding light shined over them. Zera appeared standing over the mark, smiling as she raised her arm, a bright light shining into the sky. The magic power in the air started to grow even more significant. The ship was brought to a halt. "What is this?" Kinana asked as the waves rocked the boat back and forth.
All across Fiore, people looked up as a large amount of magic power started to enter the air. People from Lamia scale to Blue Pegasus wizards everywhere felt the appearance of enormous magic power, making them stop what they were doing. Smiles came across the trimens face, hoping Kinana and the others had found this Tenrou Island. In the magic council chambers master, Org looked up at the feeling coming over him next to him, Gran Doma, who also felt the presence of magic.
"Is this Acnologia?" he wondered
"It could be," Gran Doma said
Wendy also felt the magic power making her stop walking. Now, she was outside of Magnolia, looking into the distance. She looked around. 'This feeling?' she wondered. 'It felt familiar.' She looked behind her and saw Zera standing behind her, smiling before vanishing quickly. 'Zera,' she asked. 'I need to get back to shirotsume.' Wendy said as she started to move; the magic power in the air was frightening yet calming. She needed to figure out what was going on, and she would need to check in on Lily.
Kinana stood speechless as a large dome came from the ground. The water around them moved as it came from underneath the water. Inside was an Island. The water had changed color as the Island balanced itself. The ship rocked back and forth, and everyone looked in awe as the sphere slowly disappeared. Lily walked forward, his eyes never leaving the sight. A part of him forgot just how much magic power Tenrou Island held. "That's it," Lily said. "Tenrou Island."
"Who's that," Kinana asked as she pointed to the girl standing on the beach of the Island. She opened her eyes, looking at Lily and Kinana, motioning for them to follow. "She was the one who brought Tenrou Island out of the water," she told him.
"Who," Laki asked
"I don't see anyone," Freed admitted, "what are you looking at."
"That's" Lily froze. It was Zera. He remembered her. She was the one who helped Mira during her fight with Rustyrose; she turned around, looking back, staring at both Kinana and Lily once again, waving her hand and telling them to follow her as she started to move. "Wait!" Lily screamed. "Zera!" he shouted as he picked Kinana up and flew off the shop.
"Wait for us," Max shouted as he and everyone started chasing them. "What are you guys talking about?" as they ran through the forest. Lily and Kinana were still going after Zera as their friends walked behind them. Before she came to a stop waving her hand, the trees started to move, revealing Natsu, who fell to the ground.
"Natsu," Lily shouted as he ran to him. "Are you alright," Lily asked as he shook the man. "Come on, say something."
"Five more minutes, Mavis," Natsu muttered as he sat up, looking around. "Wait, huh?" he looked at Lily before being shot up. "Who are you?" he screamed at Kinana. He looked past her to see the tear-stained faces of Freed and Max. Bickslow removed his helmet as he looked at the dragon slayer, not believing their eyes. "Why were you guys here, and when did you get so fat, Droy," he asked before they tackled him in a group hug.
"NATSU!"
"Kinana," a voice called the girl turned. She saw Mira standing there looking at her, confused. "Is that you," she asked, tears forming on the girl's face as she tried to form words. But they failed. She nodded. "What happened? What are you eating? You were rocking the line between cute the last time I saw you," Kinana said nothing as she ran and hugged her as tightly as she could as the woman backed up in shock at how tightly she was getting hugged by the girl. "What's wrong?" she then heard her crying.
"You're here," she said repeatedly as Mira hugged her, rubbing her back." You're alive."
"It's okay," she whispered, "calm down," she said, her big sister instincts taking over as she held the girl as tightly as she could. What happened could wait until she calmed down. "Everything is going to be okay."
"Aye," Happy muttered as the ground pushed him up, "can I get some fish, please."
"Happy!" Lily screamed.
"Lily," Happy said
"Are you alright?" Carla asked behind him
"Carla' Lily said, tears in his eyes
As Natsu managed to free himself from the hug, he stood up, looking around. "What happened," he asked, "All I remember is we were bracing for an attack from Acnologia," he stopped, "where is everyone else."
[##fairy glitter ost##]
"They're over here, Natsu," Zera's voice called as he looked to see the first fairy smiling at him. She waved her arm again as the trees around them started to move slowly, revealing the others one by one, all of them safely covered by the trees as they landed safely on the ground, waking up one by one.
"Evergreen," Freed and Bickslow cried as they ran to hug the girl, shocking her.
"Man, you guys are loud," Laxus said before they dragged him into the group hug. He and Evergreen looked at each other, completely confused, as Freed and Bickslow cried tears of joy.
"Hey, a real man doesn't wake another man when he's napping," Elfman moaned as he sat up. "Hey, when did you guys get here."
"Levy," Jet and Droy screamed as they ran to hug the girl
"Jet," Levy asked, rubbing her eyes, "and wait," she said, "Droy," she called, "what the hell happened to you."
"Wait, where's Juvia?" Gray called as he shot up beside him. Erza sat Juvia next to her. She was still unconscious. He let out a breath of fresh air as he saw her ragged breath, as he placed a hand on her shoulder. 'She's okay,' he thought as he looked at Erza; she smiled at him as she helped him to his feet. Warren tacked him with a hug. "Ouch, man," he screamed.
"Gray, it's good to see ya, buddy," Warren screamed.
"Gajeel," Lily shouted, "You still in one piece," Lily asked, smiling; seeing his partner once again brought tears to his eyes."
"Yeah," Gajeel said, "What's with you, man," he asked, "you look like you just saw a ghost."
Lily let out a small chuckle. "You could say that."
"Cana," Gildarts asked, "you okay."
"Yeah," she said as she sat up, "you, Lucy."
"Ten more minutes, Dad," Lucy groaned out. "Wait, I'm not at home," she looked around, "we're alive."
"What happened," Mavis said as the trees left her. Looking around, she was glad everyone was okay, but it was safe to say she was perplexed.
"Well," Zera said, getting everyone's attention who could see her anyway. "When that dragon attacked, I was able to use the feeling you all had for each other, the bonds that you shared, and turn it into magic power." She smiled as her form started to glow. "I was able to cast fairy sphere, the third of the grand fairy spells, the absolute defense spell that can defend against any manner of attack," she explained. "However, something interfered with the spell, and I was forced to use my power; thankfully, an event that happened recently managed to drain a good portion of my magic, keeping us in suspended animation."
"You mean you saved us," Natsu asked.
"No," Zera responded, "it was your bonds. I simply turned those bonds into power." Her body started to dissolve as she looked at Mavis again. "After everything, my power is fading," she sighed. "I need to take some time to rest and recharge," she admitted, "so it might be some time before we can see each other again, old friend," she said, smiling. Mavis looked away. "Don't be sad because I know your children will be able to take care of you," she laughed as she disappeared entirely. "You should feel proud of the family you've created," her body disappeared as her words hung in the air. "They're wonderful."
"Thank you," Mavis said; the glow that the tree had started to disappear, and the large amount of magic power in the air vanished. Mavis let out a small breath of air as she could feel the tree resting before turning to the others. Smiling at them, "Everyone here, okay."
"Natsu, Erza," Carla called, "Have either of you seen Wendy?" she screamed, her voice full of concern. "I haven't been able to find her."
"She's not on the Island," Laki said, looking down, "when Tenrou Island went missing." She stopped remembering the day Wendy walked into the pub with tears.
"Dornbolt saved her and me," Lily admitted; this part would be hard now that he knew they had been in suspended animation for the past seven years, but they would need to know at some point. "It's been seven years since the battle with Grimoire heart."
"What," Carla asked
"You can explain everything on the way home," Mavis said
Mira, who still had Kinana in her arms, moved her, making the girl look at her. "Hey, you okay," she asked. Kinana nodded again. She smiled as she wiped the tears from her face. "Come on," she told her
"I," Kinana started, "I thought."
"It's okay," Mira told her, rubbing her head as she gave her a warm smile
"Let's go home."
Miko found herself looking at the door, expecting something to come through. She let out a sigh. It had been hours, and still nothing. "You worried about her," the voice of Macao said. "I'm sure she's going to find them," he said, trying to reassure her.
"I hope so," Makarov said, holding a beer in his hands, "When she came to me with the blue Pegasus guild earlier, I was hesitant, but still, there was a rare fire in her eyes. " He smiled. "For once in seven years, she has hope," he smiled, "let's hope that it's not misplaced."
"She left in such a rush," Bisca said, "but I can understand her in a way."
"Yeah," Alzack said; the doors busted open as Romeo ran in. Running up to the group, "Looks like someone is in a rush.
"Romeo," Macao shouted, "don't run in here, Kiddo."
"But dad," Romeo shouted.
"Go easy on the kid, old man," a voice called as Macao looked up in shock as Mavis walked in, a smile on her face. Behind her stood a smiling Natsu, Mira, Erza, Gray, Gajeel, Lucy, Gildarts, and Cana, all of them smiling as they walked in much to others, surprised as tears started to fall from their eyes as the group gave them an enormous grin "sorry for the long wait," she laughed as everyone started crying.
"Aye," Happy said, "we're back in action."
"It's good to see your smiling face once more," Makarov said, wiping away his tears. "Master."
"You guys are alive," Bisca said, trying to hold back her tears as Alzack looked at all of them, smiling.
"Well, I'll be," Wakakba said, "good to see you all in one piece."
Wendy found herself in shirotsume town. She breathed fresh air and started going to the pub, wanting to figure out what was happening. When she saw lights and what looked like people, "What's going on?" she whispered.
"Wendy," a voice called. She stopped. 'That voice, it couldn't be' controlled when a white blur ran into her. "Wendy," it cried as she felt a force hug her.
"Carla," she whispered as she hugged her tears forming in her eyes, "what" What was going on? How did Carla get here? Was she dreaming again? No, she could smell her. This was real. Carla was here hugging her. She started to fumble over words as Carla screamed apologies. "Not your fault," was all she could say to her feline friend.
"You've grown," another voice called. This time it was Erza. She walked up to her, smiling as she brought her into a hug as well.
"Erza"
"Well, what do you know," another voice said. Erza separated from her so she could get a long look as she saw Natsu standing before her. He gave her a toothy grin. "I almost thought you were your Edolas copy for a sec," Natsu laughed.
"Natsu I," Wendy continued to fumble on her words, "I thought." Tears rolled down her face as she shook her head. This conversation had played in her chair with them so many times. What she had gone over, what she would say to them, but now. Now that she had the chance to, the words wouldn't come; she was stuck between disbelief and happiness, the pain she'd felt for the past seven years, the loss of sleep, nights she spent wondering why all came bubbling to the surface, with an extreme need to burst in tears before long, she felt a warm presence this time it was Natsu holding her tightly as he could rubbing her back.
"Take your time, kid," Natsu whispered. "This time," he said, stopping. He looked to the sky. He smiled as he hugged her tighter. "This time, I'm not going anywhere," he said. "None of us are," he said, tears in his eyes. "I promise you won't ever go through that again." Wendy started crying; he could feel the warm tears against his shirt as he smiled as seven years of pain had finally ended.
'It was December 16th, X784, when we lost everything, but my family came home seven years later on January 8th, X791. And the pain finally ended, and we started down the road to making things right.'
To be continued
