Byakuya Kuchiki lifted his head. His gaze going to the window of his office. He could feel vast amounts of spiritual pressure entering into the soul society. Spiritual pressure he recognized. Amaya, Ayumi and Orihime among them. Standing from his desk, Byakuya walked over to the window, even though he knew he wouldn't be able to see anyone.
Was it over then? Had Karina been successful? As questions raced through his tired mind, he heard the light knock at the door. Turning slowly, his grey gaze locked with dark questioning eyes. Akon stood in the doorway; his brows pensive.
"It seems some have made it back." Byakuya spoke lowly.
"I can feel it, too. Many of the captains from other squads are back. Captain Kurotsuchi isn't with them." Akon replied.
Byakuya nodded.
"Brother!"
Akon stepped back, allowing Rukia to step into the sun lit room.
Byakuya turned fully to face her. His gunmetal grey gaze taking in her appearance. Looking to see if he could spot any wounds that needed healing. Before he could speak another came into the room. Renji. Byakuya allowed his eyes to close against the sudden emotions. They were safe.
"Captain. We came to deliver the news personally. Captain Kurotsuchi has taken over the battlefield. He has somehow created some poison potent enough to kill the enemy. We were told to evacuate." Renji blurted.
"Venom." Byakuya stated.
"Captain?" Renji repeated raising his brow indicating his confusion.
"Karina Reiko shared her venom with Ayumi Kurotsuchi. I was there when they decided to join the fight." Byakuya explained.
"I didn't realize Karina was poisonous." Rukia replied, lifting her right arm to wipe at the sweat forming upon her upper lip.
The two of them looked exhausted. Faces weather beaten, bodies covered in blood splatter and grass. Renji held his right arm close to his side, no doubt trying to hide a wound from his captain. Byakuya stepped forward, holding out his palm.
Renji let out a sigh before extending his arm and revealing the crude bandage that had been made out of the bandana he normally wore across his brow.
"It's just a scratch, Captain." Renji tried to console him.
Byakuya nodded dropping his hand to his side and turning grey eyes to his sister.
"Ichika is still helping Nemuri look after the younger children. I suggest the two of you clean up and make yourselves more presentable before alerting her of your return."
"Yes, Byakuya." Rukia sighed.
Renji reached out, taking his wife's small hand in his and the two of them started to leave.
"One moment." Byakuya called.
"Yes?" Rukia asked.
"Has Zaraki returned?"
"L-Linake was injured. I'm not sure what happened but it made Captain Zaraki go crazy. Last I saw he was in his Bankai from, but it was like he was even more mindless than usual. There was so much going on. Amaya was inside our minds, warning us of attacks, then also sharing her own emotions without realizing it." Renji tried to explain.
Byakuya straightened nodding to the doorway. He needed to find the Head Captain and be briefed. It seemed that some were keeping their abilities a secret.
"I think I will go and see for myself who has made their way back."
"Yes, Captain."
Karina pressed her hand against her rolling stomach. Walking through the dangai was an awkward experience for a human. Fullbringer. Whatever she was. At this point it really didn't matter to her what label she was given. All she really wanted was to pick up the pieces of her life somehow. Her world was safe, thanks to everyone's combined effort. Karina felt a wave of fatigue wash over her and allowed her eyes to close.
She could hear the murmurs of low spoken voices. Kenpachi and Linake talking with Ikkaku and Yumichika. The pink haired little girl giggling among the low hum of deep voices.
"You're not used to this kinda thing. You're gonna be pretty worn out after switching back and forth from your fullbring."
Karina blinked here dark eyes open, seeing Grimmjow in his normal form. The one that looked to eerily close to a human man.
"I feel quite pathetic, really. Linake was close to death and she has more energy than I do." Karina replied.
"She's used to this place. Used to this kind of life." Grimmjow retorted.
"I'm not sure what to do with myself right now. What does one usually do after a successful battle?" Karina whispered.
Grimmjow stepped closer, placing his palms on each of her biceps, his shocking blue eyes stared down at her with an intensity that made her stomach roll in another way.
"In the past I would have just gone back to my normal routine while I replayed the battle in my head. Someone like me who likes to fight does that. I can tell you're gonna need more than some metal replay." Grimmjow replied.
"Grimmjow…" Karina whispered.
"Don't."
"Grimmjow, this can't be ignored forever." Karina pressed.
"Not now. Later." He insisted, taking her hand in his and pulling her away from the small crowd that had gathered around them.
Karina looked over, seeing Byakuya Kuchiki and Lieutenant Akon had shown up and were now talking with Kenpachi and Linake. Byakuya's normally stony gaze looked almost molten, filled with unexpressed emotion as the pink haired girl looked up at him with a grin on her angelic face.
Karina wished she understood the significance of the child. Was she even a child?
Karina sighed, deciding her mind had wondered enough. Her body had been through a lot lately, with the changes, coming into her powers and having been attacked and healed so rapidly. Her back was still a bit tender in some places. Without saying anything, Grimmjow led her towards the squad 12 barracks.
"I understand that you are not a man who enjoys having deep conversations, but this isn't one that I am willing to ignore any longer." Karina spoke softly as he walked ahead of her.
"Damn it, Karina. You don't know what you're asking me." Grimmjow countered.
Karina paused and pulled her hand free from the Espada. He turned; his brow furrowed in apparent agitation.
"You expect me to go in that building and have mind blowing sex with you again, don't you?" Karina challenged.
"I was gonna take you to get cleaned up, but would having sex again be such a bad thing?" Grimmjow countered.
"That's all we've done since we met! I've no idea where I stand with you. What this is, what we are to one another. I obviously cannot stay here; you obviously cannot stay either. Where does this take us, Grimmjow?"
"I don't know, Karina. I don't have all the fucking answers that you want. I have a Queen who is pissed at me for even going to your world and we just had to ally with our enemy to fight something else." Grimmjow growled.
"Then go to your Queen." Karina countered.
"What?"
"You heard me. Go to your Queen, make sure the other Espada made it out alive. Check on your own people and when you have some form of understanding and can tell me more than just 'I don't know' then we can talk." Karina continued.
"This is fucking stupid." Grimmjow growled lifting his right hand and gripping his neck.
"I don't find it stupid at all. I quite like knowing where my future might lead me. If you can't be a part of it, I'd rather say goodbye now."
"Goodbye? You really think I'm ever going to let you say goodbye to me!" Grimmjow grated between clenched teeth. His face now only inches from hers. His body now hunched over her in an ill attempt at intimidation.
"Do you really think I want to? Bloody hell, Grimmjow. Meeting you that day has turned my whole existence on its head. I am floating in the dark with no way of knowing where my feet will land. I'm not even fully human like I once thought. Do you even care about that? Do you care about anything other than my body?" Karina countered.
Grimmjow growled low in his throat, his intense cobalt gaze locked in on the tears spilling down her cheeks. Tears he was sure she hadn't even wanted him to see. Why was it so fucking hard to say something?
"I…I can't let you go." Grimmjow growled.
"Why? Why can't you let me go? What is it that stops you? The orgasms?"
"God damn it Karina, stop acting like all I've done is fuck you. I told you that you were mine, your always gonna be mine because the thought of any other man being within an inch of your scent makes me want to rip them apart!" Grimmjow bellowed.
"You love me." Karina whispered, tears leaving a trail down dirt stained cheeks.
Grimmjow took two steps back from her, his eyes going wide. Karina watched as he turned his body half way away from her, his right hand moving to lay flat across his muscled chest.
"Is that what this shit is?" Grimmjow panted, his gaze looking up towards the evening sky.
Karina walked closer laying her small hand over his, interlocking her small fingers over his large ones.
"When you think of me, you find it hard to catch your breath. The thought of never seeing me again makes your chest feel like its going to cave in on itself but when you are with me, near me, smelling me, hearing my voice and being in my arms, you finally feel what its like to be alive." Karina whispered.
"Fuck." Grimmjow grunted, turning his head and looking down at her with an overwhelmed expression.
"Yes, Grimm, I love you, too. That's why I have to let you go." Karina sobbed.
Grimmjow caught her by the wrist, pulling her closer. Karina didn't fight him when his hot mouth closed over her trembling lips in a possessive kiss. It seemed like physical contact was the only way for Grimmjow to express what he was feeling. It didn't make it hurt any less.
The unknown had always weighed heavily on Karina's mind and the way she saw it, they didn't have much choice. She couldn't live in Hueco Mundo and he couldn't live in the human world as an invisible man with only her able to see him. Grimmjow's arms lowered, pulling her body even closer. Karina kissed him back, digging her small hands into his shoulders, wanting to convey her own emotions.
With every deep caress of his lips, with every taste of his tongue, Karina felt her body reacting. The overwhelming connection that she felt to him physically was unlike anything she could ever try to explain. The male invaded her senses, caused her body to come alive, to pulse, her heart was pounding so hard she felt it might sprout wings and fly from her chest.
It might. After he left. It might very well break free and fly with him on his back as she watched him walk away again. Karina pulled back from his embrace, causing Grimmjow to suck in a breath. Karina locked eyes with him, realizing fresh tears were falling down her cheeks.
"Go…" Karina sobbed.
Grimmjow's jaw clenched so hard she feared me might break his teeth, but he forced his body away from hers and turned his head away from her. It felt like a punch to the stomach, but Karina didn't dare call out to him. She couldn't spend the rest of her life walking on barrowed time. She had to live a life that was suitable to her species. Grimmjow may love her, but he couldn't change his nature anymore than she could.
Karina forced herself to watch him, tears rolling thickly down her cheeks and dropping to her damp shirt as the Garganta ripped through the air. The giant jagged black hole appearing out of nowhere, swallowing him whole as he stepped through. Karina pressed her eyes closed, feeling that tug, the unbearable pressure in the center of her chest.
Karina turned on her heal, gasping as she pressed her fist against her breast bone. As she turned, she caught color in her peripheral vision and stopped. Blinking back the tears she looked up and met the sympathetic gaze of the head captain.
"Now that didn't look like it was easy." Shunsui sighed, taking a few steps closer.
Karina choked on her emotions. The sound was pathetic but she couldn't hold it back. The emotions were taking over. Part of her wanted to scream, part of her wanting to fall to the dirt and never stand back up again. Was love supposed to hurt like this?
Shunsui closed the distance between them and in an act of comfort, he gently wrapped the human woman into strong warm arms. Karina had always been a bit of a mystery to the head captain, but after witnessing the conversation by accident he understood that it was best for Karina to go back to her human life. To live in the soul society would only be a constant reminder of the turmoil the changes had brought to her. He understood Karina wasn't going to be a threat. Without her, he would still be fighting for his life.
"I-I'm sorry." Karina gasped against his chest.
"Now, now. There's no reason to apologize. You can't help who you fall in love with." Shunsui murmured as he slowly began to walk in the direction of the squad 1 barracks. Shunsui didn't think squad 12 was the right place for Karina now. Kurotsuchi had ran all of his tests and the conclusion had been made long ago. Shunsui didn't think going back to a room she'd shared with Grimmjow would make her transition back into the human world any easier.
Karina didn't argue. She didn't even protest when they passed by the squad 12 barracks. She silently cried, allowing Shunsui to keep an arm over her shoulder, the small human tucked under his arm as they walked. What the woman needed was some comfort with no strings attached to it. A simple kind gesture from a man who understood what it was like to lose. It seemed like that had always been the head captain's fate. To lose in love. Love came in so many different spectrums. The love of a brother. The love of a father. The love of a friend.
"Give me a day Karina and I'll have you back home." Shunsui spoke softly.
Karina didn't speak but nodded her head in understanding. There was so much that needed to be done. The pillars needed to be realigned, merging the human world back into its rightful place within its true dimension. The clean up was going to take quite a while once the battlefield was once again contained and merged back.
Shunsui let out a low tired sigh as the two of them entered into the squad 1 barracks. A full night sleep wasn't going to be in the cards for the head captain, but a wash and change of clothes and something to nibble wouldn't be too bad. Shunsui looked down at Karina, his one uncovered eye studying the woman closely.
She had lost weight since she'd been brought to the soul society and he could see the feint traces of dark circles under her eyes. Human's didn't handle stress very well, something Shunsui remembered from past experiences with Amaya and Linake.
"Head Captain…"
Shunsui lifted his head, meeting the relieved violet gaze of his niece.
"Hey there, Nanao. I thought you were at Kuchiki Manor with everyone else?"
"I was, until I sensed you returning. Captain Kuchiki had gone in search of you with Lieutenant Akon. You must have bypassed them by taking a different route." Nanao explained.
"Well, I did come the longer way. Nanao, could you help Ms. Reiko get cleaned up. It's been a pretty rough day." Shunsui half smiled.
"I would be happy to help. I am glad to see you back in one piece." Nanao added before stepping closer to Karina.
Karina stepped out from the warm half embrace of the head captain and met Nanao's concerned gaze. Karina knew she had to look ghastly, but she couldn't find it in herself to really care overmuch.
"I think a hot bath and some hotter food would be just the thing. This way, Ms. Reiko." Nanao smiled softly.
Karina just nodded her head, feeling like a weighted rag doll dragging one foot in front of the other, her mind was going numb. The pain in her chest easing into a steady dull ache. She was missing a piece of herself now, she knew it. The hardest part was not knowing if she would ever have it back. A small bud of hope was beginning to plant itself in the cracks of her heart, slowly mending the shards back together with its bright light. Was it foolish of her to hope that he would come for her again? That their love would somehow beat the odds against them?
Linake walked down the dirt road slowly with her husband by her side. Kenpachi's rough battle worn hand gripped hers tight. Yachiru was perched up on his massive red shoulders making Linake's heart fill with warmth. It had been brought to the couple's attention just how beaten up they looked by both Lieutenant Akon and Captain Kuchiki when Linake had tried to head in the direction of Kuchiki Manor.
After hearing about Takeo's recklessness Linake was eager to have her son safely back with her and Kenpachi. The mere thought that her baby had been in the path of one of those primordial pricks had her feeling ready to battle all over again.
The two of them had taken Akon's advice in heading to the squad 11 barracks and cleaning up while Akon went to fetch the children himself and bring them home. It was the best alternative considering all of them were covered in blood spatter, dirt and only god knew what else. Then there was the ever-pressing issue of Kenpachi's appearance. He was red. He had horns. He might scare the living shit out of their children.
"You want me to stay out of sight?" Kenpachi asked her then, his mind seeming to read her own in the moment.
"No. I don't think that would solve anything. Akio may cry a little, but I think Takeo will understand enough to know it's you." Linake replied.
"I don't wanna scare my little girl." Kenpachi pressed, his hard mouth forming a thin line of distaste.
"I can't wait to meet them! Maybe you should just tell them the truth, that I made you look like that so that you could be bigger and stronger and fight off the bad guys. You do look pretty scary, Ken-chan. Bad guys run from things that are scary, right?" Yachiru smiled.
"She has a point." Linake sighed.
"Hey. We'll figure it all out." Kenpachi replied as he squeezed her hand.
Linake just nodded finding herself feeling a bit overwhelmed by the situation and the previous events. She had almost died and there was no sugar coating it. If it hadn't of been for her mistakes, Kenpachi wouldn't be in his current form, but then again if she hadn't, Godai wouldn't have been able to pull Yachiru out.
"I can feel that brain of yours vibrating from here, Wife. Stop overthinkin' everythin'." Kenpachi demanded.
Linake let out a breath as the white out buildings of the squad 11 barracks came into view. She was eager to shower and she was feeling hungry, but her main concern was her children. She wanted to ball them all up with her on the big futon and just cuddle together as a family. Was that an odd thing to want? Linake didn't know.
Maybe being so close to death had made her a little crazy. Still she wasn't sure if she truly absorbed it all. Would she end up breaking down? Her memory of the whole thing was clouded. She couldn't remember being hit by anything. But she wouldn't, would she? The wound had been inflicted to her human body, not her soul form.
Kenpachi pulled her a little by the grip on her hand, snapping Linake out of her internal speculation. Linake watched as Yachiru jumped down from Kenpachi's back, following Yumichika and Ikkaku inside the main squad barracks.
Linake blinked as Kenpachi began to walk up the wooden stairs that led them to the front door of their home. She stayed silent as she followed. Kenpachi pushed the door open and side stepped, allowing her to walk in before him.
Linake kicked her filthy shoes off by the doorway then began to pull at her blood-soaked t shirt. As her fingers made contact and grew sticky Linake felt a wave of vertigo. Kenpachi reached out, grasping her by her slim shoulder with one large rough hand.
"Don't go fallin' over on me." Kenpachi rasped, stepping closer, his hard body supporting her from behind.
Linake closed her eyes as Kenpachi took over removing her shirt, quickly pulling it over her matted hair and tossing it down on the wooden floor. The heavy wet sound the fabric made had her swallowing thickly against a wave of nausea.
"Breathe, Linake. You're okay." Kenpachi soothed her, his large hands rubbing up and down her biceps and up over her shoulders.
"How do you do it?" Linake whispered.
"I like it." Kenpachi answered.
"It doesn't scare you? Being so close to death?" Linake asked.
"Nah. Being close to death is what gives me the rush I like." Kenpachi admitted.
"I don't think I'll ever understand that." Linake continued.
"Don't you? I saw what you looked like in your Bankai from, woman. If your human body hadn't of been hit you would have been riding on that killers high just like I do." Kenpachi countered.
"Everything feels like a blur to me now." Linake sighed.
"You made me proud as hell." Kenpachi murmured.
Linake laughed.
"I fought you hard enough, I would I at least did that."
"Come on, woman. Let's get this off ya, you'll feel better once you're clean." Kenpachi encouraged.
Linake stood tall, taking her weight off of his hard chest and without looking at the t shirt she made her way into the large bathroom. Instead of filling the giant wooden tub the couple favored, Linake walked over to the open shower.
The bathroom had drains placed in strategically in the wooden flooring. The concept of not having a shower stall but just a facet and shower head had been a foreign concept to Linake but after having her daughter she had gotten used to showering in the open.
Linake reached out with shaky hands and turned the faucet, adjusting the temperature to something comfortable for the both of them. Linake closed her eyes, bending down and taking off her sodden socks, then her jeans and panties.
Kenpachi came up behind her and unclasped her bra. Linake let her breasts spill forward and flung the destroyed item into the pile she'd made off to the side away from the waters spray. She would throw the clothing away later; she didn't think anything could be salvaged.
Kenpachi backed her up into the hot spray of the water, tilting her head back he used his own hands to wash her matted hair clean of dirt and blood. Linake kept her eyes closed, concentrating on her husband's gentle touch. Thick strong fingers running through the strands of dark auburn hair.
"Keep your eyes closed. Let me do this for ya." Kenpachi rumbled.
Linake nodded her understanding. He didn't want her to see the blood on the floor. He was trying to save her from overthinking. Linake turned her head as he guided her. Allowing the water to fall over her face. His hands soothed her as they caressed over her forehead and cheeks.
Linake could smell the soap before he pulled her from the spray of water and began to lather her thick hair. Keeping her eyes closed, Linake stood there, only focusing on his hands. The gentle massage of her scalp, the caress of soapy bubbled along her face, down the sides of her neck, across her shoulders, over her arms all the way to her toes. He was diligent, taking care to wash every part of her.
She wasn't sure how many minutes passed by, didn't care. Her husband's hands were like a soothing balm to her nerves, her soul. He was her everything, and he'd almost lost her. She'd almost proved him right. Against her will, fresh tears welled behind her eyelids, slowly falling down her cheeks.
Kenpachi must not have noticed because he gently pushed her head back, rinsing her upper body of all the soap he'd lovingly applied. Linake allowed him to rinse her and then stepped out of the water. She lifted her hands and rubbed at her eyes. Focusing her vision, she was taken aback by his appearance. Somehow by closing her eyes she'd forgotten he was stuck in his Bankai form.
Kenpachi hesitated, the bar of soap still in his right hand. His green eyes peeking form behind the red skin was almost eerily erotic.
"Do I scare ya in this form?" Kenpachi asked, reaching his left hand up and caressing her cheekbone with his knuckles.
"No." Linake shook her head, her lips lifting into a half smile.
"You actually look hot." Linake admitted.
Kenpachi chuckled, shaking his head at her burst of flirtation.
Linake allowed her eyes to wonder, taking in his muscles, his red skin. Linake's brow furrowed and her hands flew to his ribcage. Small gentle fingers pressed against raised flesh. Linake's mouth fell open with a gasp. The red of his skin had been camouflaging his own wounds.
"They're just scratches to me, Linake." Kenpachi tried to calm her with his rumble but she wasn't having it.
Linake grabbed the soap from his hand, using her palm she pressed on his muscled chest, making him go into the water. Kenpachi held his arms out to the sides, letting her lather his body up from head to toe with the sandalwood soap. Linake looked up into his face, looking for any discomfort. If he was in pain, he was hiding it well. Was he really used to this? She thought she could see bone in certain places.
"Sweetheart, I'm tellin' ya, I'm fine." Kenpachi reiterated.
Linake dropped her head, her soft sob echoing through the room. Kenpachi lifted his right hand, palming the back of her skull as he pulled her into this clean chest.
"Don't cry, Woman. You know how much I hate that shit." Kenpachi sighed.
"I'm so sorry." Linake gasped.
"For what? Gettin' hurt?" Kenpachi asked.
Linake nodded.
"You didn't want me to fight and I proved you right. You wouldn't have gone into Bankai at all if my human body hadn't of been there." Linake continued.
"Like hell. You proved me wrong, Woman. You still don't get it do ya?" Kenpachi countered.
Linake pulled back from his chest meeting his gaze, her brow showing her confusion.
"You're stronger than all of us, Linake. You were the only one who could deal a killing blow." Kenpachi stated.
Linake felt her body reeling from the impact of his words. She was stronger than him? No fucking way! Linake shook her head, about to tell him just that when he dipped his head and covered her mouth with his. Kenpachi pulled her body close, using his immense strength to pick her up and pin her against the bathroom wall. The trickle of hot water cascading down over their skin.
Linake sighed against his lips, realizing this is what she really needed. What they both needed. To get lost in one another for a while, to feel pleasure instead of pain. Kenpachi tilted his head, slipping his tongue between her lips, flicking, tasting her fully.
Linake wrapped her legs around his slim muscled hips, her hand reached back to grasp his thick neck. Kenpachi pulled back and dipped his head, pulling her left nipple into his hot mouth and suckled. Linake tipped her head back against the wall as liquid heat spread throughout her veins, settling between her legs.
Kenpachi alternated between both breasts, sliding his face across her skin as he slowly tormented her aroused flesh, her soft pink nipples turning darker from his play. Linake gasped as she felt the slight sting of sharp teeth combined with the heat of his mouth.
Gasping his name, Linake watched him, her body starting to writhe against him with each sultry calculated suck and nip of his delectable mouth. Her husband looked like a demon, and god did he know how to tease her like the devil.
Kenpachi opened his eyes, meeting her lust filled gaze. Without even dropping his hand to feel for her arousal, Kenpachi flexed his hips and adjusted her higher on the wall. Linake kept eye contact as his thick shaft found her entrance and slowly took possession.
"Yes!" Linake panted, her lips parting at the sensation of being filled by him.
Kenpachi pushed his body flush against hers, sealing them skin to skin as he used his strength to grind into her. Slowly. Linake groaned, understanding that slow intense sex was what was needed, the connection to each other more than just the pleasure. The look in his eyes told her everything he wouldn't say aloud. He had been scared too; he had been driven to a point of mindless rage when he'd thought her gone.
Linake allowed here eyes to slip closed for concentration. Kenpachi needed to heal, and she could use some more energy as well.
"Look at me! Don't close those pretty eyes." Kenpachi demanded.
Linake cried out as he thrust his hips harder, as if trying to make her obey by giving her more pleasure. Kenpachi chuckled, flicking his tongue out across her parted lips while her skin began to change to a vibrant gold. The sun's energy surrounded them both, lighting them both up from within, healing all of their remaining injuries.
Linake slid her left hand down to his ribs, feeling with her fingers as the wounds across the bone started to close over. Kenpachi kept rocking his hips, pulling away, then plunging deep. Linake leaned her head back against the wall and stared at him with half lidded eyes. He used his body to show her all of the emotions he couldn't find words for.
Holding onto him, not daring to break eye contact Linake basked in the sensations, the heavy slide of his cock, the deep pulsing of her desire, the tingle of her tight nipples dragging against his chest. With each rise and fall, each pull and plunge of his body she felt him taking her higher.
Head swimming with the euphoria Linake dropped her hand between them, seeking out her clit, the intense need to come overriding any other thought. Kenpachi snatched her by the wrist, lifting her hand up against the wall above her head.
"Not yet." Kenpachi demanded.
Linake cried out, digging her nails into the back of his neck as he increased the tempo of his thrusts, using the change in sensation to build their shared pleasure even higher.
"Kenpachi!" Linake called his name, her eyes closing for a brief second from the intensity.
"I love you, Woman." Kenpachi growled, leaning in to press a kiss to her mouth.
She kissed back, taking everything the man had to give her. Knowing how hard it had been for him to open up to her. How hard it had been for him to allow himself to love her. Linake pulled back, staring into pale green eyes as she replied.
"I love you more than you will ever know."
Kenpachi growled, taking her mouth once more, rubbing every inch of his body against hers, Linake gasped as he changed the angle of his hips, spreading her legs wider and tilting her pelvis so that his left hand could rest against her pelvis. Using his thumb, he found her swollen clit between the damp curls and feathered light circles over the pulsing bud. Linake cried out at the change of sensation forcing Kenpachi to break the kiss.
"You like that, Sweetheart? When I play with your sweet little clit?" Kenpachi teased her, using his words to increase her arousal. The Devil!
"Yes! Please…Please…" Linake panted, needing the release to send her flying out of her present reality and into the closest thing to heaven she could possibly know.
Kenpachi chuckled, enjoying the look of raw ecstasy on his wife's face. It was surreal to him, every time the woman let him inside her was unlike anything he'd ever felt. Kenpachi stared at her, speeding up his rhythm, brushing his chest against her hard nipples, circling his thumb faster and faster, watching as her mouth fell open and her head tipped back farther, her eyes rolling. So close. So, fucking close.
Linake cried his name as her body began to pulse around him, sending shock waves of pleasure throughout their joined bodies. Kenpachi ducked his head down, pressing a hot kiss to her lips, taking her sweet taste as she convulsed on his cock.
"I love feeling you come, Wife." Kenpachi growled in her ear, nipping at the sensitive skin. Linake's body pulsed, jerked, her eyes widening and searching as her orgasm continued longer than usual.
Kenpachi grinned deciding he wouldn't hold back from his own release, he increased his speed, plunging into her pulsing wet heat. Closing his eyes and tipping his head back to the ceiling, Kenpachi growled his wife's name as he spilled inside her.
Linake collapsed against his hard body, making him take her full weight in his arms, not that it bothered him. Kenpachi pressed soft kisses along the side of her neck as he pulled her from the support of the wall and walked over to the side of the tub and sat down, making her straddle his hips. Linake gasped at the sensation of her body baring down on the cock that was still inside her.
"I can't…" Linake sighed.
"I know, Woman. I just wanna feel ya a little longer." Kenpachi reassured her, his strong hand rubbing up and down her spine. It took Linake a minute to realize he could feel the aftershocks of her orgasm, the random little flutters that her body made after such an intense climax.
Kenpachi cupped her face with both palms, forcing her to look into his eyes. Linake smiled at him, the after-sex glow making her even more beautiful in his eyes. It was important to him that she listen and hear him.
"What happened, happened. We can't change it; we can only learn from it. I won't ever keep you from a battle after seein' what you're capable of. No beatin' yourself up, no bein' afraid of what might have been. Ya hear me?"
Linake nodded her head, her smile fading at the serious nature of the conversation. Instead she felt tears pricking at her eyes once more. Out of all the possibilities life could have thrown at her, she was grateful, so grateful to be the wife of the Demon from Zaraki.
"Look who decided to grace us with his presence." Mila Rose stated, not bothering to hide the ice behind her words.
Grimmjow didn't even bother looking in her direction. His brilliant blue gaze turning to their Queen. Harribel turned her exotic eyes in his direction, her eyes seeming to be filled with a sadness Grimmjow couldn't place.
"Mila Rose has a point. What made you decide to come back?" Harribel asked.
"Karina told me to." Grimmjow answered honestly.
"Aw, we're so touched." Apache chided sarcastically as she rolled her mismatched eyes.
"I didn't come back expecting welcoming arms. I'm not stupid. What I wanna get to the bottom of is the reason for all the sarcasm." Grimmjow stated.
"Reason? You want a reason for our distaste?" Harribel asked.
"Why not? Karina is a fullbringer, she's part hollow." Grimmjow shrugged his shoulders.
"Are you proposing we accept the human into our circle?" Mila Rose grated.
"No. I'd never allow you near her. Like I said, I'm not stupid." Grimmjow retorted.
"You are the only male Espada left, Grimmjow." Nelliel spoke up, her soft eyes meeting his gaze.
Grimmjow let out a sigh, feeling unwanted guilt creep up the back of his neck. It wasn't like he'd be able to prevent anything if someone stronger than him came into the picture. His ego had taken some hits and he wasn't as full of himself as he once was. He understood now that there was always someone just a little bit stronger, or smarter, like Kurotsuchi.
"I have friends who are human. I don't seem to get the same treatment." Nelliel spoke through the silence.
Harribel turned her gaze.
"You are not trying to mate with one." Harribel countered.
Nelliel shrugged her shoulders.
"I can't say that I never would. Honestly, I don't think any of us could say that as fact. We've never been in Grimmjow's situation. Would you be able to turn away a man who could look passed your sacrifices and still show you compassion?" Nelliel continued.
"That's enough, Nelliel. I understand what you are trying to do. You don't see a problem. While we see betrayal. She isn't one of us." Mila Rose interjected.
"That's strange. I fought with her today. If that doesn't make her one of my ally's I don't know what would." Nelliel added as if an afterthought.
Harribel raised her hand, cutting off another harsh retort from Mila Rose.
"I had already assumed you had made your decision after our last conversation, yet, you say your human told you to come back to Hueco Mundo? Why?" Harribel asked, her features turning more curious than stern.
Grimmjow felt his jaw clench, not liking the question. How was he supposed to get them to view Karina as an equal if he couldn't even decide what he wanted to do?
"I think I understand." Nelliel spoke up again.
"She didn't ask you." Apache grated.
"It's not easy to give someone something you never thought you had, is it, Grimmjow?" Nelliel asked, her gaze turning the most serious he had ever witnessed.
"What do you mean?" Grimmjow countered.
"You may not understand it, or like it, but you have a heart. We all do. Or we wouldn't even be loyal to one another. We would all be on our own, trying to destroy each other. We would be no better than the ones we all just fought against." Nelliel explained.
Harribel turned her head forward, her gaze lowering as if contemplating Nelliel's statement.
"Does Karina have your heart, Grimmjow?" Harribel asked.
Grimmjow turned his body to the side, his hand rising to grip the back of his neck. What was it with females and their constant need for reassurance?
"Yeah…" Grimmjow grated.
"Then there isn't anything else for us to discuss." Harribel sighed.
"You're really going to just- "
"Quiet!" Harribel snapped, cutting off Mila Rose from protesting further.
Mila Rose grumbled as she clamped her lips together. Harribel couldn't help but see Nelliel's reasoning. If it wasn't for some sort of heart, some form of compassion, Mila Rose wouldn't have gone silent out of respect. They would all be fighting within until there was nothing left.
Their numbers were so few it really didn't matter if Grimmjow chose to live in the human world. The Espada would forever be in debt to the Soul Reapers and for whatever reason, the thought of it didn't grate Harribel the way it once would have.
"If we were to call on you in a time of need, would you come back to aid us?" Harribel asked.
"Why are you asking stupid questions?" Grimmjow sighed.
Harribel nodded, no longer needing anything from him. Without another look in his direction, she stood from the concrete throne of Hueco Mundo and left the room, her fraccion following close behind.
Nelliel smiled as she met Grimmjow's guarded gaze.
"Don't start. I don't wanna hear any congratulations or any other mushy bullshit. I still don't even know what I wanna do and Karina pretty much told me not to come back until I do." Grimmjow sighed.
"I think I might have a suggestion if you are open to hearing me out?" Nelliel smiled.
Grimmjow's brow furrowed but he nodded.
"It would require the help of Kisuke Urahara." Nelliel continued.
"Fuck…" Grimmjow spat.
