Gajeel sighed as he came to a small town in a small house. Levy and the others had since gone off for their job. He sent Lily to watch over them. He said he would catch up but needed to do this alone. He sighed as he walked up to the door. He had been debating this for hours before he finally decided to knock on the door 'one second' came the voice from the other side Gajeel swallowed a mysterious lump in his throat. He had no idea why he was so nervous about this. It was simple, right the door soon opened, revealing the former magic council member Belno who stopped, a shocked look coming over her face as she saw Gajeel, who gave her a nervous grin.
"Hey," was all he was able to mutter out before she wrapped him in a tight hug.
"You are alive," she whispered, pushing him away and smiling at him, "they told me that you had run off and gotten yourself killed."
"Yeah," Gajeel said, "may I come in," he asked.
"Sure, thing Gajeel," she said, motioning for him to come inside as they walked into the house; it was tiny and smelt like the rain forest and cinnamon, which in turn reminded him of where he and Metalicanna used to stay "and you look like you haven't aged a day," she said
"Yeah," Gajeel said, "got trapped in a spell for seven years" Gajeel looked away, purposely avoiding the topic of Tenrou Island and everything connected "got out of it about a week ago," Gajeel admitted
"I see," Belno said "well, it is good to see," she said, her attention going to a small picture that was on a table Gajeel noted that it was her son in the image, and strangely though, he didn't like to admit it, he did look like him minus the piercing she "so did you come over here on a job."
"Yeah," Gajeel sat down. "I became a solo wizard recently," Gajeel said "
"You did," Belno asked in shock. "I have to say I never thought you would go that route after phantom lord was forced to disband," she shook her head, "as long as you are doing fine, I suppose."
Gajeel laughed. He remembered that they argued all the time about phantom Lord. The conversation had always left a bad taste in his mouth "sorry about that," Gajeel started, "it just that you were the one that brought me there, ya know," Gajeel began to, "you took me in."
"I know," Belno said, "at the time, even I was blind to what that guild was doing" she looked away "after I left, I started to see what it was, a dark guild pretending to be in the light" she shook her head "but enough about our old guild" she smiled " tell me why solo wizarding."
"I got an offer," Gajeel said "you remember Magnolia, right" Belno nodded. "After everything, Juvia went there as well, and somehow through concern, I guess," he said, "she told them about me, and they told me to come there," he said, the memory of his conversation with Mavis playing in his mind "and the rest is history."
Belno let a laugh come over her "you know," she said, "back when I was on the council, the other members were concerned about that town."
"Nothing weird goes on there," Gajeel laughed "there's just a bunch of idiots."
"Really now," Belno asked
"Yeah," Gajeel, "but it was a nice place to be."
"You and your friend plan on taking it back," Belno asked
"I don't know," Gajeel said, "it is our home, though, so I guess."
"Our home," Belno said
"Yeah," he smiled, "in a way, I finally found somewhere I can belong."
"I'm happy for you, Gajeel," Belno said, "and I am happy to see you as well" she smiled, "you are always welcome here. I hope you know that"

Torafuzar fell to the ground as Gajeel looked at Levy "come on, Levy," Gajeel shouted, "pull yourself together," he screamed as she came to look at him, a small smile forming on her lips "you gave me that breath of air just now" Gajeel said "I need you to do it again" he said
Levy's cheeks turned red 'he wants me to do it again' Levy looked away, pointing her fingers.
"hurry up and give some to Slamnder and the others," Gajeel said
'what' Levy asked 'the only reason I did to him was cause he was closet, hell I didn't even know it would work' she looked away 'yeah, that the only reason I did it"
"what are you stalling for," Gajeel said "hurry up and use your magic," he screamed as Levy turned red from embarrassment
"right," Levy facepalmed. 'I should have done that in the first place," she sighed "{solid script: air}" she screamed, and Gajeel went into the bubble. "Gajeel, are you okay."
"Yeah, I'll be fine," Gajeel said as he saw Torafuzar getting up "look, I need to take this thing down," he said, "going to use my seal."
"what no," Levy said, "what about."
"It's a risk I need to take," he said. He smiled at her "get to Salamander and the others."
"Okay," Levy looked away, "be safe."

"It's me we're talking about," Gajeel said as he went from the bubble as Levy went to save Natsu and the others; Gajeel smiled as he activated his temporary form of dragon force. His normal iron body was decorated in small scales that turned black as he and Torafuzar traded blows making the water rumble as they glared at each other. Gajeel punched him away as Torafuzar let out steam, a smile coming to his face as Gajeel hit him again. Torafuzar body changed again as Gajeel felt something pain "what" he screamed as he backed up, the iron on his hand breaking and reforming shortly after the slight sight of blood coming from it.
"Behold," Torafuzar said, "the strongest defense of the nine demon gates," Torafuzar noted, "with it, I can transform my body into an impenetrable wall" Tempester smiled "your iron protected you from the poison, but I see it's starting to take hold dragon slayer" he laughed "you merely brought enough time to watch your comrades perish" he laughed "humanities era is over," he said "now the era of demons will begin" he laughed "you will all die together."
"Natsu," Levy smiled as Natsu opened an eye "we have some air for now," Levy said, "but with all this carbon, it will be hard to make more." she looked at Gajeel, "come on, you can do it."
"This is the end for you," Torafuzer shouted as Gajeel passed out
"Gajeel," a voice called
"I know that voice," Gajeel muttered
"How could you let this demon best you so easily," it said again, "and you dare to call yourself my son."
"It is you," Gajeel muttered.
"Metalicana"
Flashback

'my whole life, I've heard the same thing no matter where I go or who I'm with. They always tell me that I need to know who I am, but the truth is I'm no one, a nobody.
Gajeel reached his hand back, small blood coming down his hand as he stood back "that hurt," he screamed as he turned to his father, Metalicanna, who towered over him "how the hell do you expect me to shatter this" he shouted. "I'm a human, not a dragon."
"and," Metalicana asked, "the iron is a wall, my boy," Metalicana said, "it is a mental wall that you must one day overcome" the dragon bent down, looking him in the eye "you must understand what you are doing and who you are" he gave a grin "you are a dragon slayer and my son," he said, "and once you accept that there will be no wall that can stop you." he laughed "be iron or steel."
"Fine, I'll keep going," Gajeel said, "but I don't understand what that means"
'It was years later that I heard it again, but you and I weren't on speaking terms then.'
Org sighed as he looked at Gajeel "and once again, we have Gajeel of Phantom lord here," he said. "I swear, how many times have we met just this year" Gajeel smiled as Belno shook her head.
"Gajeel, wait," Belno called as Gajeel turned to look at her
"what do you want," Gajeel asked as he turned to her, "another lecture."
"I want you to leave phantom lord," Belno said "they're not the guild they used to be," she said as Gajeel laughed.
"Unlike you, I don't abandon my guild," Gajeel said "don't forget who your talking to"
"I know who I'm talking to," Belno said. "I raised you myself, didn't I," Belno said as Gajeel looked away "this thing you're looking for, Gajeel."Belno started, "you won't find it at Phantom."
"Whatever," Gajeel said. "I'm not looking for anything," he said "in fact, I'm about to become a legend," he smiled "we're about to do something big," he said, "pretty soon, Phantom will expand, and it will make us legends."
"And you think that will make me proud of you," Belno asked
"I don't need your approval," Gajeel said. "I know who I am," Gajeel screamed as he started to walk away "it's about time you accept that"
"do you" was all Belno said as she turned to leave "be safe, Gajeel," she said, turning back "remember, I do love you," she said "you're not a replacement" she smiled at him as she vanished as Gajeel said nothing standing there pondering her words
'who am I.'
"how do you do it, Salamander," Gajeel asked as he and Natsu sat watching the sunset.
"what do you mean," Natsu asked
"I mean, who do you know what you're doing," he asked "how do you know who you are," he said "you and Meredy both," he said, "you guys seem to have everything in your lives figured out to point you can just keep going," Gajeel noted "I mean" Gajeel stopped "never mind it sounds stupid."
"Acceptance," Natu said, stopping him. "I've accepted the person I am," Natsu said as he lit a small flame in his hand, "and I guess my magic responds to it" Natsu smiled, "everything thing I've done to this point" Natsu smiled, "adn you do too," Natsu said placing a hand on his shoulder."
"you just gotta accept it."
"We found master Belno," Levy said, coming on the Lacrima, "but" she looked back, everyone could see Gajeel standing over her lifeless body. We were too late," she said, "the town is still here."
"Whoever this killer was must have been the quiet type," Lily said, looking back to his partner 'Gajeel,' he thought.
Gajeel looked over the body of Belno, the closet thing to a mother he's had 'when Tartaros attacked the council, I should've come here right away,' he thought to himself 'how could I have been so foolish" he said
"Gajeel, wait," Levy called as Lily stopped her. He then pointed to a picture "what" when she picked it up, she saw Belno but what shocked her was there was a younger Gajeel with her"
"she took him in after Metalicanna disappeared," Lily said "according to Gajeel, he reminded her of her late son," Lily said, "give him time," he said, "cause she was like a mother to him."
Gajeel said nothing as he sat on the roof. There was a time when he and Belno would come up here and watch the stars. She would tell him stories he would tell her about his time with Metalicanna 'you told me that my life could have meaning; you said that I was searching for who I am," Gajeel said. "I want you to know that," Gajeel smiled. "I found it, " he said, "and I wanted you to see," Gajeel said as he felt tears form on his face. "I hope you knew that"
"I loved you too."
End Flashback
"Now, son," Metalicana said again, "who are you."

"I can't die here," Gajeel screamed as he broke free from Torafuzar's grasp punching him in the face and sending him away, "because I have people counting on me" Torafuzar looked back.
"what," Torafuzar said, "how could that weak Iron injure me," he screamed, "what are you."
"I'm done playing games with you, pal," Gajeel screamed as he punched him again.
"he absorbed the carbon in the water," Torafuzer said, "he became steel."
"Time to end this," Gajeel screamed, "cause they gave my life meaning," Gajeel shouted, "They helped me figure out who I am," Gajeel shouted, "and I'm not losing that, not this time," Gajeel called "{Metalicana style dragon slayer secret art: hidden steel form: Karma demon steel spiral}" he screamed as he fired as Torafuzar going right through him as the demon let out a scream in pain falling to the ground as the water around them vanished.
"I knew he could do it" Levy smiled.
"so that's what you meant" Gajeel smiled. "Thanks, pops." he smiled as he fell to the ground, "damn, everyone still down," he said, "and there one more demon we gotta deal with," he said as Tempester appeared behind him.
"I must commend you for taking down one of the nine," Tempester said, "but such a feat cost you your magic power," he said as he gave a grin "now you die," he shouted as vine shot out, punching him away as Cosmos appeared in front of him.
"you," Cosmos whispered as she stood in front of Gajeel "are you okay," Cosmos asked.
"I've been better," Gajeel said, "how'd you find me."
"I followed all the explosions," Cosmos said, smiling as she turned back "who's your new friend."
"the demon that got Laxus," Gajeel said, "and he was there when they killed Master Makarov."
"I remember," Tempester said, "is he dead yet," Tempester said, "or is he still in agony."
Flashback
"being of your power does exist," the man said, sitting up as Laxus backed up in shock. "I would never have guessed the surface had power like you," he smiled "our battle is not yet finished," he said as he stood up "however, I can tell that you merely call your friends," he smiled, "but I will complete my mission before I die."
"what are you going on about," Laxus asked, "no one dying."
"a great many people are about to die" he smiled as he raised his hand "my body shall make it so," he said as he slammed his. Much to Laxus' horror, through his chest, as he coughed up strange brown-colored blood, he smiled as he started to fall. His body began to decay. The blood started evaporating and turning to a mist as his body vanished from sight.
"what," Yajima said
"he turned into a mist," Bickslow shouted
"humans cannot escape disaster," a voice came "this mist is filled with bane particles," he explained "it will seek out and destroy any Ethernano it can find"
"but living beings are filled with Ethernano," Freed shouted.
"Right you are, and as such, this will cause magic Deficiency Disease and bane sickness" as everyone started to fall to the ground "first I will strip you of your powers, and then I will strip you of your lives," he laughed "I would have started with this attack, but I have to be reborn every time I use it," he said, "do not worry, he said you will see your grandfather soon."
"damn you," Laxus muttered.
"We need to move," Yajima called as he fell over.
"no, Mr. Yajima," Evergreen called as she fell to the ground, Bickslow falling behind her.
"no," Freed said, "we have to do something."

"no," Laxus said, "no one is going to die," Laxus screamed "no one else," he shouted as he opened his mouth and started to consume the bane particles in the air as it all started to go away 'that twice you underestimated me" Laxus shouted "first you underestimated my magic, and then you underestimated my lungs" he screamed.
"Laxus, stop," Freed called.
"There is no way you're talking me out of this," Laxus said, "but you can make sure they get home safe," he screamed as she finished consuming all the air Laxus fell to the ground. 'Natsu,' he thought, a smile coming to his face, 'I leave the rest to you, kid; I know you'll do me proud.'
End Flashback
"so we need to get his blood to make a cure," Cosmos asked "let me handle that," Cosmos said, "you just get some rest."

"you will die," Tempester said "boosh," he screamed as a large flame surrounded him as he rushed to Cosmos, who looked back.
"there all safe," Cosmos whispered "good," she said as she blocked the attack looking back at Tempester, a smile on her face as seh snapped her fingers. An explosion rang out as Tempester fell back, jumping up as she turned.
"Impressive," Tempester said, "but I will not be stopped," he screamed "whoosh," he shouted as a large gust of wind appeared. Cosmos raised her hand, several plants going around the injured. As Gajeel backed up as she vanished into the ground.
"you hurt my friends," Cosmos shouted "now you're going to die," she screamed as she wrapped a plant around her arm, punching him in the face as Tempester fell to the ground "tougher than he looks," she whispered as she flipped over him "this might be fun," she said as she stood back.
"this one is strong," Tempester said, "tell me, who are you."
"me," Cosmos said. "I'm a proud member of the ten wizard saints," Cosmos said, "and the wizard that is going to kick your ass," she said, "and close ally of fairy tail," she bragged, "call me Cosmos."
"a wizard saint," Tempester said, "so you're like Makarov in that regard," he said, "but I will not fall to you."
"you've already lost," Cosmos said, "you just don't know it yet."
"is that so," Tempester said "then die," he screamed "{inferno}" he shouted as a large blaze broke up as Cosmos jumped through the fire through several seeds, which exploded as Tempester jumped from them, rushing at her as Cosmos wrapped her body in vines to tank the attack as she fell back.
"damn," Cosmos said as she bit her thumb, slamming it on the ground as several vines shot up "now go," she screamed as the vines exploded, shooting Tempester to the ground as he landed away, waving her hand to the side.
"{cyclone}" Tempester shouted as a tornado appeared, grabbing Cosmos as she flew away "{impact}" Tempester shouted as he punched her away as she flipped back on her feet, wiping some blood from her mouth, "your strong," Tempester said, "but not strong enough."
"Cosmos," Gajeel shouted.
"man," Cosmos said, "not every day I get to go all out" she smiled as she jumped up. A small vine appeared from the ground as she wrapped it around her leg, kicking him in the chin as she slammed into the wall. "I'm taking you down," she screamed as the vines wrapped around him. Cosmos landed on the ground, blood coming from her mouth as she reached for her stomach. 'bastard got me,' she whispered as she fell.
"Are you okay" Gajeel shouted.
"not enough," Cosmos whispered

Tempester appeared from the smoke, a smile on his face as he wiped some blood from his face "it has been too long since a normal human has made me bleed," Tempester said "you a strong for a human," he said, "but I am an etherious" Tempester said "Tempester, the immortal" he said
"an immortal, huh" Cosmos muttered as she struggled to her feet, "so no matter how hard I hit you, you can't die" a dark grin grew on her face "sorry old man," Cosmos looked at him, "but this is a chance to good to pass up" she laughed.
"chicks going off the deep end," Gajeel whispered.
"you believe you can best me, human" Tempester shouted
"I know I can," Cosmos called "for gramps," she said, "for Laxus and fairy tail, for the hundred people that are suffering right now, I have no choice but to beat you," she said, "cause they're my friends, and we watch each other back, no matter what."
"you're a fool then," Tempester said
"no," Cosmos said,
"I'm a fairy."

Cosmos has arrived just in time to take on Tempester, the demon who was responsible for the defeat of Laxus and one of the demons that attacked Era resulting in the death of Makarov. Will she be able to best the demon and get the blood needed to cure Laxus and the thunder legion? Or will Tempester prove too much for the young wizard saint?
