Hey, fairy tail fans, and welcome back to a fairy tail re-told, that right once again, I am back from the dead to bring you what may be the final saga of a fairy tail re-told the Alvarez saga. We are in the final stretch now. There is a lot to do in this short arc but that now for now, but for now, we are beginning Fairy tail: Avatar, I was initially going to skip this arc, but then I had a unique idea for it, so let's get started with the first arc of the final season.
The journey continues.
Peace has since returned to Fiore since the battle of Tartaros ended. Nearly half a year has passed as we find heroes Lucy Heartfilia and Mirajane Strauss walking to an abandoned village. Lucy yawned as she followed Mira through the rain to a small village on the outskirts of Magnolia. It was abandoned a long time ago for a reason unknown, but now it was in use as Gray stayed there to train his new powers. However, Juvia and Gray had missed three check-ins, which concerned Mira, "so what's this all about," Lucy asked.
"Nothing much," Mira said, "Gray asked to be alone, but I just want to see how he and Juvia are doing."
"I see," Lucy said in the one and half years since the battle against Tartaros and after the development of his new powers. "I've caught him in town a few times, but" Lucy looked away. "Nothing has been the same since tartaros has it."
"no," Mira said as she saw Juvia. "Juvia," Mira called. "Are you okay?"
"Gray," she shouted as Mira stopped her. "Not exactly, Hun," Mira smiled, "though it good to see you."
"Looking good, girl," Lucy smiled.
"But where's" Juvia started. "Gray," she said again as she fell over.
"Juvia," Mira called as she caught her."
"she fainted," Lucy said.
Avatar arc: Enter the dark cult: Avatar.
Lucy laid Juvia down, placing a cold towel on her head. "Even Juvia would get sick after sitting in the rain for so long," she said as Juvia shifted uncomfortably. "How long do you think she was sitting out there."
"no idea," Mira said, "but that doesn't explain where Gray went."
"Last I heard," Juvia said, looking at Mira, "he was going to Porlyusica," she said. "Something had happened to him."
"what happened," Mira asked.
"it was one day after we had just finished training," Juvia started.
"Darling," Juvia said. "I know you like to strip, but please don't just leave your clothes lying around," she said as she looked at Gray. "Gray," Juvia asked. "Is everything alright," she said. Black markings had started to grow on his body. "Are you getting a rash, or the ice wizards equivalent of frostbite?"
"Nah, it's nothing" Gray smiled at her. "Come on, let's go get some launch."
"Are we going to go into town," Juvia asked.
"Nah, I want some more of your cooking."
"After that, he started to go on jobs by himself," Juvia said as she sat up. "Sorry if I've worried you, Mira," Juvia said.
"take it easy," Lucy said.
"Once you're feeling better, Juvia, we need to head out,": Mira said.
"huh," Lucy asked.
"Why," Juvia asked.
"we going to have to pay a Sabertooth a visit."
The Mikage Forest is located north of the central mountains of Fiore, where an old, seemingly abandoned church with trees starts to overgrow the structure. There were several people inside. "The land of Fiore is in pure chaos," a man said. Most of his body was concealed by a black ferraiolo, which bears a pattern of symbols resembling a lunate epsilon on its back. His ferraiolo is modified so that the collar circles around the back of his neck in a bowl-shaped fashion. From underneath the ferraiolo, a gorget can be seen jutting out, encircling his neck. His face is concealed by an ornate metallic mask around the mouth area with engravings resembling a beard and mustache. His name was Alok. "The time has come for the avatar to purge the infidels and sicced, for the demons failed." he said, "All we do, we do for Zeref."
"All we do, we do for Zeref," someone said. He had a small body and was clothed fully in a blue cloth adorned with black rings, like the spots on a leopard. He also wears a green scarf around his neck. His face is much like a clown's, painted white with stars around the eyes and a red nose; he also holds a Mr. Cursey doll. The most prominent feature of Abel is his headpiece, which is much larger than his head and patterned with black and yellow stripes. His name was Abel.
"All we do we do for Zeref," a reasonably tall, voluptuous, dark-skinned woman with white lipstick has brown eyes, curly eyelashes, and thin eyebrows; her long white hair flows freely in the back, but her bangs, however, are slicked upwards, save for one lock which dangles down in front of her forehead. she was wearing a black, polka-dotted cloak (fastened with a brooch of sorts), under which she dons a blue bandeau with tassels. Around her waist, Briar wears nothing but a black loincloth, and up and down her legs are black bands crossed to form several Xs. She wears simple black sandals on her feet, decorating her ears with silver heart-shaped earrings. Her name was Briar; next, her member D-6 nodded.
"All we do, we do for Zeref," someone else repeated, a tall, older gentleman with blue eyes, very prominent, bushy eyebrows, and a thick goatee. He is bald and wears a dark blue robe decorated with various symbols and tied with a white sash. He also keeps a straw hat draped on his shoulder. His name is Gômon.
"All we do, we do for Zeref," another said. He was a tall man with a typically neutral expression. He has orange eyes and unkempt, shoulder-length blonde hair; for his attire, he dons a metal multi-layered breastplate; the layered part of the armor starts from his chest and onto his neck, appearing as a small breastplate collar; below the breastplate, he wears a pair of black pants followed by a pair of black shoes; over this, he wears an open, long, grey coat with a large collar that can almost cover the side of his mouth, over his grey coat another layer of the cover is attacked covering his shoulders and his back as an added protection. When seen on the front, it appears as a pair of black shoulder covers with a couple of golden buttons and a gold lining on its edges while the rest of it extends to his back long enough to appear as a small cape and at the center of his back a white Avatar symbol can be seen. His name is Jerome.
"All we do," Another person smiled as she looked at the member across from her. She was a petite young woman. Her pink hair is cropped short, reaching only up to her shoulders and elegantly framing her dainty face. A thick bang hangs down her temple and between her eyes. The most striking feature of her face is her large eyes. The irises are golden and have diamond-shaped symbols engraved in place of pupils. She wears a simple dress with a turtleneck. The upper part and the sleeves are black. The sleeves are much longer than her arm and, hence, rolled back into cuffs, revealing the underside to be white. The dress's lower part is white, the two colors clashing at the chest in a jagged pattern. The dress reaches up to her thighs, and the bottom edge is also black, flaring out like a mini-skirt or frock. A necklace with crescent-shaped links adorns her neck, the pendant lying on her chest. The pendant is a simple light blue stone with a golden frame. She also wears a simple black headband that gives her the appearance of having feline ears. "we do for Zeref," she drew out the words slowly as she smiled. Her name is Mary.
"All we do, "another voice said. It was Gray, who was covered in black markings. "we do for Zeref."
"so, wait, why would Gray be at Sabertooth," Lucy asked.
"he doesn't plan on joining them, does he," Juvia asked.
"What, no," Mira said. "But for now," she looked away, "we need to stop trusting him."
"what, why" Juvia shouted. "I could not trust Gray."
"Look, I'll explain everything later, but I need to confirm something." Mira explained, "This has to do with the eclipse gate and Gray demon slayer magic," she said.
"shouldn't we call Erza then," Lucy said.
"you know she's still," Mira said nothing, "she's been with Jellal ever since she found out about his condition. She's been with Jellal."
"I know, but this is about Gray," Lucy said, "she should know."
"your right," Mira said, "but let me confirm my source first."
"Source," Lucy asked.
"you'll have to wait," Mira said as they approached the guild. Yukino ran out to greet them.
"Mira, Lucy, Juvia, what a surprise," she called as she hugged Mira. "It's so good to see you," she smiled.
"How are you," Mira said.
"Oh, things here are great at Sabertooth," Yukino said as she led them through the guildhall. "Ever since Sting became the guild master, our job numbers have perked up."
"hey, fairy tale, what brings you in," Sting asked as he walked up to them, shocking Lucy as he had gained a lot of weight since the last time she saw him.
"oh hey, Sting, good to see you are doing well," Mira said. "Have you seen Rogue" Mira asked? "I need to ask him something."
"he and Milady just left for a job," Lector said. "Is everything okay?"
"for now, at least," Mira said. "I'll see if I can catch them," she said as she left the guild.
"what do you think that was about," Sting asked, now skinny again.
"what? How" Lucy shouted
"I had Libra balance him out" Yukino smiled.
Outside the guildhall, Mira ran to find Rouge and Minerva about to leave for their job. "There you two are," Mira shouted, "Hey, I need to ask you something," she said.
"Mira," Rogue said.
"To what do we owe the pleasure," Minerva asked.
"Can I see the job you're doing," Mira asked.
"Okay, but why," he asked as Lucy and Juvia caught up.
"oh no," Mira said. "This is bad," she said.
"Mira, what's going on," Lucy said.
"you remembered a year ago, the eclipse gate incident, right," Mira said.
"yeah, kinda hard to," Lucy said.
"This is the job," Mira said.
"This is the job that creates Ryos." Mira's words hung through the air. The events of the aftermath of the grand magic games are still fresh on everyone's mind. It is the main reason the major guilds have decided to take a break from the games, but still, there was the lying thought in what caused the creation of Ryos.
"you know you never told me what happened at the games," Minerva asked.
"It's a long story," Mira said.
"how do you know this is the job," Rogue asked.
"a few days ago, I received a message," Mira said. "It was from Natsu; he told me that after everything at the games, he was given a warning from Ryos."
Flashback
Natsu said nothing as he watched Ryos start to glow. "I may not know Rogue very well," Natsu said, "but he will never become you."
"that shadow," Ryos muttered. "It is relentless," he muttered, "it will not stop until it swallows him whole," he laughed. "Then, on that fateful day, I lost Frosh. It consumes me," he looked over to Natsu. "You must warn the Rogue of your time to protect Frosh," he said. "From him," he whispered again, "The man is Gray Fullbuster."
"what" Natsu shouted. "There's no way Gray would ever do that."
"that's where your wrong," Ryos said. "In the absence of power, those will rise to take their place," he said. "You must warn the Rogue of your time, or I will return," he laughed. "You must stop the dark cult Avatar,"
"or they will kill Frosh."
End Flashback
The group had since moved out of town, sitting in a forest as Lucy sat back. "No," Juvia said. "Gray would never do something so horrible," she screamed. "Gray is too kind."
"I know, but" Mira looked away, "During the battle of Tartaros, he became a demon slayer." Mira explained, "And according to Natsu, slayers can become laser-focused on things, which makes them hard to predict" She sighed. "It happened to Natsu, Laxus, and even Meredy," she turned to Rogue. "And I can even throw Sting into that pile."
"So, if we go to this Avatar, we're going to find Gray," Minerva asked.
"Apparently, after the games, Natsu started to look into Avatar," Mira said, "he even placed a sprengeri there."
"a sprengeri," Rogue asked. "like the tree"
"Don't worry about it," Mira said. "Rogue, if you don't mind, I want to accompany you on this job."
"umm, sure," Rogue said.
"yeah, we don't mind," Minerva said, "if it means protecting Frosh" She looked down.
"I don't want to cause any trouble," Frosh said.
"Don't worry, Frosh," Rogue said, picking his friend up. "Nothing will happen to you," Rogue said. "I promise."
"what do you know about this Avatar," Minerva asked.
"From what Natsu was willing to share in his letter," Mira said. "Avatar is a dark cult that has since started to fill the void left by Grimore heart," she explained. "They worship Zeref," she said, "and they've been extremely active as of late."
"why would Gray join them," Lucy asked. "That just doesn't seem in character for him at all."
"I have no idea," Mira said. "Hopefully, going to Avatar will give us the answers we want."
"so, did Natsu mention anything else in his letter," Lucy asked.
"Other than that, he and Wendy were eating and sleeping, no," Mira said. "No clue as to where he is, what he's doing, or what he's up to."
"Oh," Lucy looked away.
"Lucy, everything okay," Mira asked, "you've been down ever since we left this morning."
"Mira, I," Lucy sighed. "Let's finish this job first," she said, "then I'm leaving."
"what" Juvia shouted.
"everyone else is," Lucy said as she stood up. "so, you know what I am too," Lucy said, standing up. "Maybe it's time we start to think of a world without fairy tail," she said as she left.
"I take it she didn't take their disappearance well," Minerva said.
"she's going through a lot right now," Mira said, "we all are, and Natsu's exit didn't help."
"so, they've still not returned," Minerva asked, "and you still have no idea why they left."
"no," Lucy answered as Rogue looked away, a guilty look on his face. He knew why they left but was unsure if it was his place to tell them.
"it may not be my place to tell you this, but" Rogue finally said, "but seeing as you're doing this for Frosh and me, I was there when Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy reunited with their parents," he said. "They also encountered Zeref."
"what" Lucy shouted. "Zeref was there."
"so, Tartaros succeeded in summoning Zeref," Mira said. "What did he do."
"I don't know, but," Rogue said, "but I know he came there for Natsu."
"What else did he tell them," Mira asked.
"I don't know if it's my place to tell you that," Rogue admitted. "From what I was able to gather, it seemed personal."
"what could be so personal that Natsu didn't want to tell us" Lucy whispered. "did it have to do with Igneel."
"it doesn't matter right now, Lucy," Mira said. "I'm sure they'll tell us when they come back," Mira said, "First, we should deal with this Avatar."
"all right," Lucy muttered. "but my mind is made up," she said. "I know it's sudden," she said, "but it's my decision."
Deep in the base of Avatar, the leader of the deadly cult Alok stood at an altar dedicated to Zeref. "oh Zeref, the day of purification draws nigh; you shall be exalted," he screamed.
"excuse me, your eminence," a vice called as Alok stopped his prayer. "do you plan to go ahead with the purification plan," he asked. "We received word that the magic council may have heard of our presence," Jerome said.
"We must review our members," Briar said. "If the council has caught wind of us, then something is afoot," she said. "Wouldn't you agree, bushy?"
"Bushy," Jerome asked.
"Leave me to my prayers," Alok said. "I require solitude."
"Now we know Grandpa can be stubborn," Mary said, "so I say we prepare for visitors."
"quiet poison tongue," Briar shouted.
"how dare you give me one of your terrible nicknames," Mary shouted
"if one of the guild wizards comes, this would be mighty bad," Gômon said.
"Great first bad nicknames, then bad tea puns," Mary sighed.
"Which way will the winds of fate blow," D-6 asked.
"As long as I get to have some fun, I don't care," Abel said.
"our problem isn't with the council, but rather how word reached their ears," Jerome said.
"so, what your saying is we have a mole in our ranks," Gray asked, "and you're pointing the finger at me."
"we'll you were a part of that wizard team fairy tail," Mary said, "and there still very much active."
"he's faithfully served us for half a year," D-6 said, "why would we question u, snow."
"but think about his past," Jerome said, "demons killed his parents, and Zeref was involved in both his master's and her daughter's deaths."
"If you have been suspicious of him, why wait to bring it up now," Briar asked.
"because he has no reason to support us," Jerome said.
"lay of him bushy."
"no, it's okay, Briar," Gray said. "This gives me a chance to explain myself" Gray smiled as he stood up. "I'm not here for Zeref; no, I'm here to get my hands on the book of E.N.D.," he shouted. Shocking everyone in the room. "those losers I used to work with are nothing," he laughed. "Their strength is all but gone now," he laughed. "Their dragon slayers abandoned them, and their leader has disappeared," he laughed. "I've severed all my ties to my previous life; all I care about is killing E.N.D."
"such darkness," Briar muttered.
"It's obvious that it's not him," Mary said. "How could a magic council spy be so dark and hot."
"I've given it some thought," Jerome said. "You can call me bushy," he said, shocking Briar.
"so, this is Avatar," Minerva asked.
"so, what's the plan," Lucy asked.
"We go in, find out what these creeps are up to, and take them down," Mira said.
"sounds like fun," Minerva said, "we can handle it."
"I think so too."

In the half year since the battle since Tartaros fairy tail has changed, but our hero's resolves are just as strong. However, what effects has that battle had on their mental states? Will Mira be able to hold them together without Natsu, and has Gray truly fallen to the dark side in his quest to kill E.N.D next time on a fairy tail re-told?
