"Mavis," Zera called out. "Mavis, where are you?" she shouted as she came to a lake and saw a young girl with blonde hair. "Mavis, there you are," she said as she ran to her. "Where have you been."

"Oh, hi, Zera," Mavis smiled as the girl sat beside her. "Just needed some time to me," she said, "thinking about things."

"Fathers really mad," Zera said, "said I needed to get you back," she said.

"I know," Mavis said. "Don't worry, I'll handle it," she smiled at her friend. "So, what if our parents don't get along? They don't decide for us," she said.

"I guess," Zera said as she sat beside her. "So why did you come out here."

"I thought I saw a fairy," Mavis admitted.

"A fairy," Zera said.

"Yeah, but it was just a firefly," she acknowledged. "Sometimes I have to wonder if they are even real," she said.

"Ooh, you worry too much," Zera said. "We'll find a fairy," Zera smiled. "You and me, we'll search high and low for them." she smiled as she looked into the night sky. "No matter what, I promise you that you and I will find out if they exist, even if they have tails," she laughed. "It may be an eternal mystery, but you know what that means," she stopped as she looked at her best friend.

"It'll be our eternal adventure."

Alvarez arc: Zerø

"Welcome Home," the pub residents shouted as the group sat in the fairy pub. They greeted the returning fairy tail, Laxus Levy, and the Thunder Legion.

"Wow, a party," Meredy said.

"Miko did say she was going to make us a feast," Wendy said.

"Mavis," Warrod greeted.

"Nice to know you stopped by," Mavis said.

"When I heard you were in peril, I was worried, old friend," Warrod said, "but it does my heart well to see you safely returned.

"Let's have a toast," Kinana shouted. "To the returning dragon slayers and Mavis," she said.

"Cheers"

"Feels good to be back," Natsu smiled. "That was a trip."

"You're telling me," Gajeel said.

"Natsu" Asuka shouted. "Your back," Asuka cheered as Natsu hugged her back.

"What're your parents feeding you, kid." Natsu laughed. "You've gotten a little taller since I was last here."

"Welcome back, Natsu," Bisca and Alzack said.

"I barely recognized you, squirt," Gajeel laughed as Asuka laughed.

"Hey, Wendy," Katja said.

"Your back," Romeo said.

"Hopefully for the long term this time," Wendy laughed. "Neither one of you better get kidnapped."

"Hey, I've gotten a lot stronger," Romeo boasted.

"My magic power is coming back in small bits," Katja revealed, "though I'm nowhere near Lucy's level yet."

"Wait, her magic powers are coming back," Wendy asked.

"Oh yeah," Lucy said, "but as far as using celestial gates keys go," she sighed, "it's taking a bit of work."

"Hey, she'll get there," Wendy said, trying to comfort her. "Just gotta be patient."

"So," Levy said, coming up behind Gajeel as she turned to greet her. "You wanna explain why you just left," she asked.

"Hmm," Gajeel scratched his chin, "you're just so tiny I thought you were in my bag," he smiled. "Sorry, my bad," he laughed as Levy hit him.

"I'm not that small, you iron-hearted jerk." Levy pouted as she hit Gajeel on the arm.

"Are they flirting," Juvia asked.

"If you're feeling lonely," Cana asked.

"I'm good," Juvia said, backing away from her.

"Mavis was it," Anna said as she walked to her. "I just wanted to thank you for caring for the dragon slayers."

"Oh, it's no trouble," Mavis said.

"Even then," Anna said, "words can never express my gratitude for your care for them." She smiled. "I know they can be handfuls."

"That putting lightly," Mavis chuckled, "but still their love with them." She looked back, seeing the four dragon slayers. "I think they're just glad to have something that connects them with their past."

"Still, it's hard to believe that you are from the distant past," Warrod muttered, "and here I thought I had lived well beyond my years," he laughed.

"So tired," Cosmos muttered.

"We missed you in Crocus," Wendy said, "You okay."

"They didn't tell you," Cosmos asked. "I left the hungry wolf knights, knowing that the wizard saints are working so closely with the council, it would have been seen as favoritism if I remained there," she said. "That and I never realized how much work Master Makarov did," she said as she leaned back.

"That much, huh," Wendy asked.

"You have no idea," Cosmos muttered, "he traveled a lot, bringing the different countries together."

"You could have at least got me some Alvarez booze," Cana groaned to Natsu, sitting with Gray.

"Maybe next time Cana," Natsu said, "but you would love their star mangos."

"Maybe," Cana muttered.

"I just hope that guy can get back on his feet," Gray muttered. "I still feel kinda bad that we got his shop destroyed."

"Not the first time," Natsu said as he looked over the pub. He felt like forever since he had been there when he first returned. He was already on a daring mission, so relaxing felt good. "Hey man, about that Avatar stuff."

"It's handled," Gray said. "You could have told us through."

"Didn't want to start a scare," Natsu said as he took another swig of his drink, "I hear you and Juvia were shacked up."

"They were that old married couple in the woods," Cana revealed.

"Like mommy and daddy," Asuka asked.

"We're just friends," Gray said, blushing. "We're taking things slow," he said.

"Sure," Natsu laughed as he sipped a drink.

"When's the wedding," Cana said, making Natsu laugh.

"Why do we always gotta talk about my love life?" Gray growled, "Why don't you tell me what's happening between you and Erza."

"Oh," Cana teased, "Natsu's in the hot seat," she said. "Now there is something new she laughed; Magnolia's resident hot head and its resident fiery redhead."

"What do you mean," Natsu said, looking away.

"Dude, she's been giving you the cold shoulder since you got back," Cana laughed.

"What's that I hear," Laxus said, coming into the conversation. "Natsu and girl trouble, this I gotta hear," he laughed.

"I don't understand what you're talking about," he replied. "Erza and I have always had the same relationship as before," Natsu explained. "We're just friends, work colleagues, and both children of Magnolia." This statement elicited laughter from those around him. "What's so funny?" he asked.

"Evergreen and I are just friends," Laxus laughed. "Gray and Lucy are just friends," he said, "hell, you and Cana are just friends."

"The best of friends," Cana laughed.

"What am I supposed to say," Natsu said. "Erza's, a valued friend, a remarkable woman, a talented wizard, and" he stopped when he saw all of them smirking at him, "standing right behind me, isn't she."

"Oh, but don't let that stop you," Erza said. "Please finish what you were going to say."

"We have a loving friendship," Natsu said as Erza said nothing before walking off.

"See the cold shoulder," Cana said.

"Shut it, Cana," Natsu said.

"What was that," Lucy asked as Erza sat beside her. "Are you and Natsu fighting again," Lucy asked.

"No," Erza said.

"Oh, then why the side eye," Lucy asked.

"Lucy," Erza said.

"Okay, I'll drop it," Lucy sighed.

"Hey, Mest, did you ever get in contact with Sorano," Carla asked.

"She got out okay," Mest said, "though she was not a happy camper," he laughed, "but we couldn't leave the sea temple."

"It is a great movable outpost."

"There are so many yummy fishes," Happy shouted.

"Not to mention a great place for swimming," Rossello said.

"At that moment, it felt like we went back two years; I honestly forgot about all the danger that we were in and all the trouble that had occurred; instead, we were just enjoying each other company, Natsu and Gray arguing about whatever, Wendy trying to keep the peace, as Gajeel egged them on, while Juvia tried to get Gray's attention. Even Meredy seemed to be getting along with everyone despite the tense history that we shared with her. Of course, that was so long ago. We didn't care at this point; we were glad to be together again, but I couldn't help but think about the future. In Alvarez, my friends encountered wizards stronger than anything we've ever faced before. Part of me is so scared of what might have happened had Laxus and I not made it in time; war is coming, and once again, my friends and family were caught in the middle."

Lucy was pulled out of her thoughts when the doors opened as Riana walked into the pub, a rare sight as she was without Kagura. "Master Riana," Laxus said.

"I see your operation was successful," Riana said, smiling. "It's good to see you made it safely home." She frowned. "Though I take it you have bad news."

"Yes," Mavis said, "I have seen the enemy, and their emperor is Zeref."

"What," Laxus asked.

"Yes, there, he is known as Emperor Spriggan." Mavis explained, "and the invasion of Ishgar is all but inevitable."

"I will inform the council," Riana said, "but might I ask why they are coming."

"Their main target will be Magnolia," Mavis admitted,

"so, nothing new then," Cana said. "You fairy tail guys can take them, right," she said as everyone went silent. "You guys can take 'em right."

"Alvarez is the strongest military power in the world," Mavis said. "We have never encountered a foe of such power," she sighed, "and if Ishgar falls."

"So does Magnolia," Natsu finished.

[## Makarovs determination ost##]

"So what? We give up," Lucy shouted as she walked forward. "After everything we've been through, every foe we've faced from Phantom lord to Tartaros, we've always had the odds stacked against us," she said. "That didn't stop us then, so it shouldn't stop us now," she sighed. "I know every one of us feels the same," she said, "this is our home, and I'll fight for it."

"Lucy, you don't understand the foe we're facing," Mavis said." I won't ask you, kids, to fight a war on this scale."

"That hadn't stopped us before," Lucy said. "Ever since we came together, all we've wanted was to live life the way we choose, and after what felt like forever, we finally have it, and I refuse to lose it," she said, "and I don't care if I have to go alone" she shouted "but I'll fight for you Mavis," she said, "you don't have to ask me to fight cause you'll have celestial magic now and."

"Mine as well," Juvia said, "you'll have my water magic."

"And my maker and demon slayer magic," Gray said.

"And my Lighting drakon slayer magic," Laxus said.

"And my Sky dragon slayer magic," Wendy said.

"And where she goes, I go," Carla said, turning into her human form, "so I'll fight for you.

"So will I," Lily said.

"And my direct line, as well the sprengeri under my command," Mest said.

"They are all lunatics," Meredy muttered.

"You can say that again," Gajeel said as they looked at each other before shrugging. "Ah, what the hell," he said as she stood up. "You'll have my iron dragon slayer magic, too," he

"So, what, we just say that," Meredy said, looking around as everyone looked at her. "What, fine, you'll have my snow dragon slayer magic, too," she said, winking.

"Looks like their minds are made up, master," Mira said.

"Yeah," Elfman said, "we're real men, so dragon tail will fight to its last breath."

"You got that right," Cana said as the rest of the pub cheered.

"I," Mavis smiled as she felt tears coming to her eyes. "Thank you," she said.

"Master," Elfman said.

"Please don't cry," Mira said as Mavis shook her head.

"No, it's okay," Mavis said. "But first, everyone here must know what they're fighting for," she said. "The time for secrets has passed," Mavis said. "The time has come for me to tell you the story of the fairy heart," she sighed. "Back then, I belonged to a guild we called ourselves Fairy Tail, but our end came quickly when an old rival, Blue Skull, came and destroyed everything Zera and I cared for," she whispered. "Seven years later, I would meet Precht, Yuri, and Warrod." she sighed. "That is when we entered the second trade war,"

"Mavis," Warrod muttered. "Are you sure?"

"Yes," Mavis said. "Listen well, everyone, for this is the story."

"of how I died."

Flashback

"Back then, when I was a young teenager, long before I had bore this curse, long before I became the protector of Magnolia, I was simply a girl who was stranded on Tenrou Island after a conflict between my guild, Fairy tail, and the dark guild Blue Skull leaving me and my friend Zera was left alone, stuck on the Island for seven long years. that is until Yuri, Precht, and Warrod came to our shores agreeing to us to help finish the fight our guild started all those years ago."

"Hard to believe we're going to be leaving it all behind," Zera muttered. It had been seven years since the attack of Blue Skull on their home, and now teenage Mavis and Zera sat at the back of a ship as they left. Mavis placed a hand on hers as she smiled. "It's okay; I'm not scared."

"A new adventure begins," Mavis smiled. "So come on," she said. "Let's look to the future with some hope and pride."

"I guess you're right," Zera said as she looked at her shoulder, which had the guild mark of the former fairy tail guild; the symbol would later become that mark of Mavis.

"Zera Mavis," someone called. He was a tall teenage young man with medium-length, wavy, and spiked dark-blond hair; he had thick eyebrows and very prominent eyelashes, donned a black turtleneck, over the top of which he wore a leather jacket with a folded, fur-trimmed collar and breast pockets on either side. He also wore simple pants with frayed hems and plain black shoes. "You two ready to head out?" his name was Yuri Dreyer, the father of Makarov Dreyer and great-grandfather of Laxus Dreyer, a current member of the ten wizards. Saints"

"You bet, Yuri," Mavis said.

"We have a long journey, so seeing as you two will be coming with us." another man said, "it would be nice if you could help us around the ship." It was a younger Precht Gaebolg, the future master of the dark guild grimoire heart and fairy tails greatest foe."

"As always, you're thinking about where we're going next," a voice called. It was a younger Warrod, the future fourth-ranked wizard saint. "We already know where this Blue Skull is located."

"You know," Mavis asked.

"Do you? They're the ones who destroyed our guild," Zera said. "They killed our parents. We have to find them."

"There is a dark guild that has been sighting in the area in a town known as Magnolia," Warrod said. "We know the way," he said.

"Zera and I had barely cracked our magic potential during that time. We had the power of Tenrou on our side; at least, that was what Zera believed, but neither of us was ready for the horrors of war that we were about to enter or the heartache that would befall us both. Or, more specifically, the heartache that would befall me. It was days later when I arrived in what years later be the place I would call my home years later."

"What happened here," Mavis asked as she and the others stopped at the run downtown. It was utterly destroyed. A giant dragon sat atop Cardia Cathedral; the town had seen better days. "This place is a ghost town," Mavis whispered as she walked through the streets. The building lay in ruins, and others were gone, leaving nothing behind. "Why would someone do this?" she whispered?"

"This child," Precht said, "is the result of a guild war," he said, "That or a dark guild."

"A dark guild," Mavis asked.

"Their guilds who don't play by the rules," Zera explained. "You remember that book of black magic spells we burned a few years back?" Mavis nodded, "Yeah, they use that kind of magic."

"No," Mavis said. "You've always told me that it is good in all things," she said, "so I refuse to believe something like this could happen."

"I understand the sentiment," Warrod said, "but there are some things we can't prepare for," he muttered.

"I guess," Mavis said when Zera grabbed her hand.

"Come on; we came this far, right," Zera said.

"Right," Precht said as he was shot in the eye, falling to the ground in pain.

"Precht," Warrod shouted as he ran to his friend as wizards surrounded them.

"Everyone get behind me," Zera said, bringing her hands together. A small bright flame formed in her hands. "{flare burst}" she screamed.

"Precht, are you okay," Warrod asked.

"I'll live," Precht said. "Look out," he screamed as she pulled out a bladed chain striking a wizard as he pulled back "damn it," he cried.

"You bastards killed my father," Zera shouted. "You're going to pay," she called again as she unleashed another fireball.

"Wait for guild mark," a wizard said, "Isn't that the fairy tail guild we destroyed on Tenrou Island."

"We're going to need backup."

"Zera calms down," Mavis said as she got in front of her friend. "Let's not cause more violence than we have to," she said, "This town has been through enough."

"Mavis," Zera asked.

[##challenge of Mavis ost##]

I summon the army of magic soldiers," Mavis shouted. "{Tenrou soldiers}," she screamed as a group of knights spawned behind her. Her friends looked in shock. All of the "knights" wielded a sword and shields with a symbol of wings and wore armor. "Bring me the master of Blue Skull now," Mavis demanded. "I do not wish to cause further violence," she shouted.

"Mavis," Zera muttered.

"Those Illusions look so life-like," Precht muttered.

"What do we do?" a wizard shouted.

"Where did that army come from."

"Did she summon them?"

"Can we take on that many?"

"Mavis, be careful," Zera said 'your bluff better work.'

"What is the meaning of this?" a voice called.

"Master Geoffrey," a wizard said, "Why are you here."

"I came to see for myself what this fuss is about." he was an older-looking gentleman who wore a multi-colored cape decorated with skulls over a plain-colored shirt and animal-print pants. He always covered his face with large goggles and a dark blue mask. "Laugh," he said.

You," Zera muttered. "You took everything from me," she screamed as her fire magic started to burst from her body.

"You know what, sad little girl," he said, "The day I took your father was probably the most important day of your life," he said as she waved his hands as Mavis's illusion disappeared. Much to her shock, "But for me, it was Tuesday," he laughed. "Did you pathic fairies honestly believe this would work?" he said.

"What?" Mavis muttered.

"Mavis, get down," Yuri shouted as he tackled her to the ground as the wizards opened fire.

"Get back," Zera shouted.

"We need to run," Precht shouted, covering his eyes. "Come on," he screamed.

"Zera," Mavis called.

"But Mavis," she called as she turned to her friend, the look of horror on her face as she looked back as a few smoke bombs went off around the group. "What is this? As a woman came up to her. "Come on," she said, smiling; we need to get out of here, she said as they ran off, she said as she grabbed Zera's hand.

"Get them," Geoffrey shouted.

"Who are you," Yuri asked.

"Who me," the person asked. "You can call me Rita," she smiled as she led the group out of town.

"We ran that day injured and broken. But little did we know that our worldview was about to change as we ran into the forest."

[##Sun village ost##]

As Rita led the group out of town, where a small band of people were camped out, Yuri looked around. "What is this," he asked as they looked around. "Why are you all camped outside of town."

"It's because of Blue Skull," Rita said. "Ever since the second trade war started, that guild," she whispered. "That dark guild moved into town soon after it started," she smiled. "Once upon a time, Magnolia was a different place," she said. "Shops and merchants, wizards, of any kind could come and go. She smiled as her mind filled with nostalgia. "They're not the first guild to take residence here," she admitted, "but out of all of them, they have to be the worst," she said. "Magnolia has never suffered this much."

"I see," Precht said.

"So, what are we going to do," Mavis asked.

"There's nothing we can do, Mavis," Precht said. "Even if we could, there's no way we could take on that many wizards."

"So what? We leave these people," Mavis shouted.

"Mavis, we came here for the orb, nothing more," Zera explained.

"But still," Mavis muttered, "we should help."

At the time, I understood what these people were going through; I was young and foolish, but I never fully grasped the state of the world at the time. The second trade war destroyed the land; wizards everywhere fought for territory and prestige. There was no way to know how it would end, and small guildless towns like Magnolia were mere specs on the scale of the war.'

Later, Mavis is by herself as the group sits down to rest and tend to their wounds. She sighs as she comes to a lake. "Zera wants to go back, but she can't take on all those wizards by herself," she whispered. "Precht is badly hurt," she sighed. "For years, I've studied the art of magic, but I cannot do anything, if only," she whispered. "If only I were stronger," she said as the water moved and someone came from the lake; she looked up to see Zeref, who had been taking a bath, and Mavis's cheeks flashed red. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry!" she screamed.

"It's time to leave," Zeref whispered as his clothes reappeared on his body. "I'm sorry."

"Huh, what are you?" Mavis stopped as the forest started to die around her. "This is," she whispered as Zeref looked at her. "Ankhseram Black Magic," she said, "the curse of contradiction," she said.

"You know of my curse," Zeref asked.

"I've only read about it, but," Mavis said, "The more one loves life, the more things die around them," She said, "The only way for death to stop is to forsake life itself." She looked down before getting embarrassed. "Oh, I'm sorry; I'm sure you already know that,"

"No, it's alright," Zeref whispered. "It's nice to be around someone," he smiled. "Talking to you made me happy." he said, "but we must not converse for long; I do not know if," he stopped when a bird landed on his shoulder. "What, no, you must stay away, " he said as he backed up, "You're all in danger," he screamed as if nothing had happened. "What."

"You don't have to worry," Mavis said, smiling. "This is my magic, the power of Illusion," she said. "It's the only magic I could teach myself," she said.

"I," he said, reaching out only for his hand to go through the animal. "I see; they're so life-like," he smiled. "But I can feel their warmth," he smiled. "Do not be ashamed; you have a gift."

"Wait, you're a powerful wizard, right," Mavis asked. "Then you could help us."

Then, I would make my first sin and ask the dark wizard to teach us. It would give us the strength to fight off Blue Skull, avenge our families, and regain what was rightfully ours. It was hard that he taught about magic things that I had already known, but Precht, Yuri, and Warrod had yet to learn; of the three, Precht had the easiest time getting into his magic; he was a natural. Warrod was a natural-born protector; through that, he found his way, gaining control not over trees but nature itself. Yuri was last; of course, he found his way to activate his power. Like a bolt of lightning, he could strike hard and fast. But me and Zera, we were a particular case."

"Mavis," Zera asked. "The others are training again," she smiled. "Come on. We should be helping."

"Oh, I'll be there soon," Mavis said. "It's just," she stopped.

"What's wrong," Zera asked as she placed a hand on hers

"It's just," Mavis sighed, "When we started training, I wanted to find a super special magic of my own."

"But Mavis," Zera said. "We have magic," she said. "Not to mention your mind," she said. "Sure, the five of us aren't in a guild," she said. "Fairy tale is long and gone," she said.

"Truly a wonderful mindset," Zeref's voice called.

"Hey, we're having a moment here," Zera shouted.

"Mavis, if you want, it is possible to learn other magics," Zeref said. "I can help you with that."

"Wait, really," Mavis asked.

"Wait, Mavis, are you sure about this," Zera said. "Think about what you're doing."

"I do, Zera" Mavis said. "Yuri and the others are going to need all the help they can get," Mavis said. "I don't just want to stop Blue Skull; I want to help this whole town."

"I'll never understand this helping nature of yours," Zera said.

"It's because I, too, know what it likes to be helpless," Mavis admitted, "and I know the joy of having a knight in shining armor." She looked at her friend as she thought of their first meeting when she saved her from her father's wrath. "To have someone give you a small bit of hope," she said

"Mavis," Zera said. "I." She looked at the ground.

"I honestly envy the two of you, "Zeref said. "I can see just how valuable your friendship is."

"You don't have any friends," Zera asked.

"No," Zeref admitted. "I lost my friend long ago," he said. "Now come, Mavis."

"If I knew then what I know now what I was getting myself into, I would have heeded Zera's warning, but it was already too late. I trained myself as a dark wizard, and thus my fate was sealed."

"Wait, so you're going to help us," Rita asked, "but I thought."

"Things change," Mavis said. "I'm sorry we had to leave for a while," she said. "And I have a plan," she said.

"What can we do," Rita asked.

"I'm going to need you to start causing trouble around town," she said. "I need you to draw as many wizards away from town as possible."

"That will allow us to attack the main base in Cardia Cathedral," Mavis explained.

"We'll try," Rita said, "thank you."

"Our plan was solid, but we knew we couldn't take on an army, so we planned to divide and conquer. The citizens would start to rise, causing trouble around town. But no plan can prepare for the heartache that comes next."

[## Kyoka attacks ost##]

"Come on," Yuri shouted as he fired off his lightning magic, taking out several goons. "Where's your master."

"Tell me where he is," Zera shouted as she fired her magic again. "He will answer me," she screamed.

"Stay focused, Zera," Mavis said as she walked by all the destruction. "Come on, we take out the master; we take down the guild," she explained.

"Easier said than done, my dear," a voice called as Geoffrey approached a few of his men. "So, you came back for more."

"All right," Mavis said, "he's a powerful wizard. We need to."

"he's mine," Zera screamed as she rushed him. Geoffrey smiled as he blocked her attacks.

"Foolish, child," Geoffrey laughed as he kicked her away, "you truly have nothing left to live for."

"I have something to live for," Zera said. "That's why I'm fighting so hard," she screamed as she attacked him again. Geoffrey blocked the attack, Creating a large explosion and knocking everyone to the ground.

"Now that's not right," Geoffrey frowned as he looked at Mavis; a dark smile came across his face. "Let's fix that, shall we," he said. "Then we can resume our feud," he laughed as he fired a powerful magic blast.

"Mavis!" Zera screamed as she ran to her friend.

"Zera," Mavis said as Zera pushed her to the ground before the blast hit her in the stomach, going right through her blood coming from her mouth as Geoffrey laughed.

"oh crap," Yuri shouted, "Zera," as they started to get surrounded.

"Did you believe that this would work," Geoffrey asked. "You may have gotten around my men," he said, "but you will never beat me," he shouted. "Blueskull owns this town, and as long as I'm here, no one will take us down."

"Zera," Mavis said as she picked up her friend. "You're going to be okay," Mavis said as Zera looked at her. "Just stay awake, okay."

"Mavis," Zera said. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "We never found," she stopped. "A fairy," she said as she looked at her strength leaving her body as she tried to move. "Looks like I have to leave you now," she whispered as she felt Mavis's tears hit her face. "You know," she said, "this is the first time since the two of us met that I've made you cry."

"Zera," Mavis said again as her body limped in her arms. "Come on, wake up," she said again and again. "Please get up," she said. "Zera!"

"Are you going to start crying," Geoffrey asked. "Please go someone else."

"I'm going," Mavis said as dark energy surrounded her. "I'm going to kill you," she shouted as a bright light shined around her. A large beam consumed everyone in the room, taking up Magnolia. Mavis' scream was heard throughout the town miles away as people closed their eyes. Geoffy jumped back as Mavis let out her magic power.

"What is this?" he screamed

"{Law}" Mavis whispered as Geoffry was consumed in a bright light

"What was that," Precht said as the dark guild wizards ran away. Looking around, everyone stood up, unaffected by the spell Mavis cast. Precht then noticed Geoffry lying motionless on the floor. "What did that girl do." he said as he bent down, looking over the man's body. "he's dead," he whispered as he looked at Mavis. "So much power."

"Mavis," Yuri shouted as he ran to her, touching her only to jerk back when she burnt him. "Mavis, come on." The girl, however, said nothing as tears streamed down her face.

"Please, Zera, get up," Mavis cried again. The girl remained unresponsive as Yuri dragged her into a hug. " You promised," she said. "You promised we'd find a fairy together." she cried into her friend's arms. "You can't go just yet."

"We still have adventures to go on."

"but our battle would not be over; the bloody second trade war continued, and to win back Magnolia's freedom, I would have to fight and ensure that these people could have the home they wanted. With the lives they would choose. To this day, I don't know why I decided to take part; maybe it was my guilt for Zera's death, or maybe I thought it would distract me from my loss. The bloody trade war would carry on for ten more years, in which, thanks to my tactical mind, the people of Magnolia would start to call me the fairy tactician due to my love of fairies. And Yuri Precht and Warrod would be named the guardians of magnolia."

Mavis sighed as the distant sounds of battle rang in her ears as she scratched her chin.' We have at least thirty wizards.' She looked around, "Draw back the western flank."

"But Mavis," Rita said. "Wouldn't that leave us vulnerable to attack?"

"If I were our enemy, I would send reinforcements west," Mavis said. "Our western Flank is the most open," she said.

"I see," Rita said.

"I can come up with at least forty-nine countermeasures," Mavis explained, "but first, we'll need to pull back our western flank."

"At once," someone shouted.

"So that's the fabled fairy taction," someone asked. "I didn't expect her to be so young."

"Just wait till you meet the guardians," another person told him.

"I need not check up on some things," Mavis said, "Please, if you need any help, please Call on my friends," she said. "They will do their best to help you." she said, "Magnolia's defensive line must be held," she said

"Umm, yes, ma'am," someone said as Mavis left.

"Is she alright," Yuri asked.

"It's probably just the war," Precht said. "Remember, she's still so young."

"Yeah," Warrod said. "Still, she's probably thinking about Zera." he sighed. "Come on, we have a battle to win," he said. "Our enemy might have wizards, so stay sharp. If you see anything, let me, Precht, or Yuri know."

"Yes, sir"

"Then, in the year X690, the second trade war finally came to an end with the guilds Phantom Lord, Lamia scale, and Blue Pegasus rising to prominence in the months after creating an enter guild treaty that would allow for temporary peace, many towns would star to agree to be placed under the protection of a guild, and the magic council would begin placing laws to prevent war."

Mavis walked through the forest, the sounds of birds in the trees as she looked around. 'It's nice to get away,' she thought to herself, 'and the horrible war has finally ended,' she thought. "Precht and Yuri want to stay in Magnolia," she sighed. "But me, I'm not too sure," she said as she walked until she saw something, "Wait, is that?" she smiled as she saw Zeref. "Oh, my goodness, it's you."

"Wait, Mavis," Zeref asked as the girl cheered. "Stay back; I'm cursed."

"I know," she screamed as she hugged him. "It's been so long, and that bloody war has finally ended," she told him. "Thanks to you, we could stop Blue Skull and keep Magnolia out of the second trade war."

"I," Zeref said, embarrassed, "you're welcome."

"So, wait," Mavis asked, "you're the black wizard Zeref."

"Yes," Zeref said. "I didn't tell you my name all those years ago because I didn't want to scare you."

"Is it true that you've been alive for three hundred years," Mavis said. "There are so many stories about you." This got a laugh out of Zeref.

"So, curios," he laughed, "Yes," Zeref confirmed, "but I wish to know what you've heard about me, though I can say the bad things are probably true."

"How could you say that," Mavis said. "You so kind," Mavis said. "Even so, I believe there's light in all things." She smiled, "It's what my friend Zera believed."

"Oh yes," Zeref said. "I must say I'm surprised to see you without her."

"She," Mavis sighed. "During our first battle with Blue Skull," she said. "She died in my arms," she said, "And then I think I cast a spell," she whispered. "I don't remember most of it."

"Wait, you used Law," he said as he pressed their foreheads together.

"Hey, what are you doing?" she screamed.

"Mavis, you used an incomplete black magic spell," Zeref said. "Now you're like me," he explained, " You've gained the curse of Ankhseram."

"What," Mavis said.

"You made a judgment on who lives and dies," Zeref said. "As such, you have been cursed," Zeref said. "Forgive me, but magic always has a price."

"No, I," Mavis stopped. "I don't believe you; why are you being so cruel?" she screamed.

"It would be crueler not to tell you," Zeref said. "Thanks to the war, which most likely affected how you value life and death, the curse has yet to take hold." he smiled as he looked at her. "You and I are now connected," he said.

"No," Mavis shouted. "I'm nothing like you," she screamed.

"You'll see Mavis," Zeref whispered, "when you understand the true value of life."

"No, I can't," Mavis said. "How dare he say something like that to me?" she screamed. "I do understand the value of life; it's more important than anything," she cried.

"At that time, I was naive, believing that I would never cause such calamity, but it wouldn't be until March of X696 that I would truly understand the weight of my sin."

"Congrats, Yuri," Warrod smiled. "You're a father," he smiled.

"Rita," Yuri smiled. "I love you so much."

"So cute," Mavis cheered.

"You know, sure, the pub has a medical wing, but she didn't have to deliver the boy here," Precht asked.

"Yeah, but Rita insisted," Yuri said. "She's always been stubborn."

"It's because this place represents Magnolia's future," Rita smiled. "Much like our son, he is the next generation." she smiled. "he's going to be one to give us solo wizards a future."

"You got that right, babe," Yuri laughed.

"Mavis," Rita said, "would you mind naming him."

"What, me," Mavis asked.

"That would be the best gift you could give us." Yuri smiled.

"You should name him Prehiono," Precht said.

"Please don't," Warrod said.

"Oh, I know," Mavis said. You should name him Makarov," Mavis had told Yuri. "It's the name of a kind-hearted king." she smiled. "I read it in a story once."

"Makarov," Yuri smiled, "Yeah, it's perfect."

"fine" Precht muttered.

[##awakening soul final ver. ost##]

"Mavis," Rita muttered, entirely out of breath, "we have to create a place that we wizard," she stopped, "that wizard of any sort." She stopped as she leaned to the side. "Can call home," she smiled. "That's what Magnolia should be, not bound by the laws of what a guild says but able to work together to create a bright future." She smiled as she closed her eyes.

"Rita," Yui asked in a panicked voice. "Rita, are you okay?"

"Having the baby must have taken a lot of her." Warrod said, "Get the doctors back in here."

"Hey Rita, say something to me," Yuri screamed. as Mavis backed up

"When you learn the true value of life, the curse will come."

"No, I didn't," Mavis muttered before she let out a scream, shocking everyone as she ran away. Their cries went blank on her as she ran as fast as she could. "I'm a monster," she cried as she ran through the forest, birds falling to the ground, animals dying around her, and the trees losing all their leaves. "No, stop, please," she shouted as she slipped her death wave, killing everything around her. "Please stop."

"Such is the curse of contradiction; the more you value life, the more it dies; the only way to stop it was to love no one, a powerful curse, taking the lives of plants, animals, and those you love. I would wander around for a year until, once again, fate allowed our paths to cross again.

"There you are, Mavis," Zeref called as he looked at Mavis, who seemed highly skinny. She looked up. "I've been looking for you."

"Oh, it's you," Mavis muttered. "I haven't eaten or drunk anything in half a year," she muttered.

"And I take it you've tried to end it all," Zeref said as he looked at the cuts on her arms. "I'm sorry, but this curse makes you and I immortal," he informed her. "We could cut off our own heads, and we would keep on living he said, showing a few scars on his neck." he laughed. "Those scars on your arms will fade in time," he said."Our bodies are indestructible."

"There has to be a way," Mavis said, "Please, you have to tell me how to lift the curse." This got a laugh from Zeref. "Please, I just want to die."

"And why would I do that," Zeref said. "Trust me, this craving for death will pass," he smiled. "Then you will have an eternity to do other things." he smiled. "As for me, I created a species known as Etherious," he said. "At first, it was in the hopes that one of them could kill me."

"You learned how to create life," Mavis muttered.

"Yes," Zeref said. "My magic is living magic," he said. "I have destroyed the barrier of life and death," he smiled, "See, now you have all the time you want." Zeref said, "The possibilities are endless

"But I don't want time," Mavis said.

"Not even if you could see Zera again," Zeref asked as Mavis sat down. "Come with me, and I could teach you."

"Okay," Mavis whispered.

"It was then that I learned the secrets of Zeref; he would take me to what he deemed his library, and there I would learn about life and death and many of the magic that would go on to be my own."

"You know I started a country," Zeref said.

"You did," Mavis asked. "Why."

"It's a fun little challenge," Zeref said, "something to pass the time while I wait."

"For what," Mavis asked.

"Nothing, don't worry about it," Zeref said. "Now, how's your research going," he said.

"I'm not researching anything," Mavis said. "I'm just learning," she said. "Here, I think I've been able to track something about light and darkness magic," she said, "It was, but I think we proper practice, I could turn darkness into light and vice versa."

"Turn darkness into Light," Zeref asked. "That is so like you," he said, "in the months we've been together." he smiled at her. "I truly have come to appreciate you, Mavis," he said. "For years, I've walked this path alone," he said as he brought her in for a hug." And now you are here giving me something to live for," he smiled.

"Umm, glad I could help," Mavis said. "I know how it feels to be lonely." she looked back at him. "Thank you for taking me in," she said. "I wouldn't have gotten this far without you."

"Yes," Zeref said as they stayed like this, "looks like this curse was good for something after all."

"I don't think." Mavis stopped as Zeref leaned in. "Zeref," as Zeref looked at her, as they leaned in, a giant death wave formed around both, shooting large pillars of light and darkness to the sky, as Mavis fell to the ground.

"In my short time with Zeref, I learned about the abyss of Sorcery and the curse we bear, but what neither of us could have predicted when two share this curse, a new contradiction is formed.
