Cyrannus System Helios Alpha
Erebus Asteroid Belt
Asteroid K89-834

As expected the inner planets had been attacked and had enough of a Cylon presence that trying to get anything from them was far too risky for any potential gain. In the Erebus Belt so far no Cylons had been detected. The mining locations and refueling spots in the Erebus Belt they had looked at had either shown as destroyed or abandoned.
Asteroid K89-834 called the "Badger" for unknown reasons was originally a mining asteroid that about 80 years ago had ran out of mineable ores. That mining company had been more than willing to sell the asteroid to some company that after the First Cylon War had eventually been bought out by Illumini Shipping. The asteroid at just over 17 kilometers was big but unremarkable in any way and ended up being where refits and repairs of unusual ships outside the normal mining and shipping designs. More to the point this is where Carl Maxon was taken to look over Maxon's attempt to purchase some old military equipment.
"Asteroid K89-834 Badger this is Colonial Raptor. Please report status" said LT Scott Demal (Matchbox).
"Colonial Raptor this Asteroid Badger. You are the first Colonial contact we have had since the attack" said a female voice. "I am Anika Kalss the manager of the facility."
After a few minutes of conversation there was an agreement that in an hour they would return with (thankfully) a higher ranking officer to discuss matters.
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Colonel Marton was glad that finally some good news (or at least potentially good news) was found. That the person in charge wanted to go over things is understandable. Major Limaki would watch over the flotilla and Captain Talbot would watch the Atlis. Carl Maxon came along to hopefully smooth over any issues as he has at least met these people.
All four Raptors were here to provide watch out for the Cylons. Hopefully an agreement could be made. As Carl and Marton departed their Raptor they saw a dark haired woman in her fifties and a tall thin man in his forties waiting for them.
"Hi I am Anika Kalss and this is Edgar Boban the manager of the shipyard." After a round of introductions of they went to an office nearby.
"Miss Kalss we were told that we are the first Colonial contact you have had since the Attack" asked Colonel Marton. When that was confirmed he continued. "We have a group of ships outside the Colonies that is self supporting at least for a few years. Carl here visited this facility a few months back and recommended that we contact you."
"Please call me Anika" she replied. "We do have supplies for about a year here but were debating what our long term plan was."
"I am going to be frank with you. From what we can tell that Cylons have killed over 99% of humanity. They have hit all major Colonial bases and at least 5 Territories that we know of. There are dozens of Baseships here in this system and thousands of Raiders. You will eventually either be found or run out of supplies. Any attempt to get new supplies will increase your risk of being found. We are asking you to join us" said Colonel Marton.
Anika was thinking that while not the most diplomatic of approaches that this Colonel did lay it out. Since the attack the option of leaving the Cyrannus System had been researched. The problem that they had was while they did have enough Jump capable ships to carry the people and supplies the amount of tyleum they had was low. Maxon Mining though made it's living off of mining tyleum so that should likely not be a concern. "Colonel Marton you are likely the only option we have so we accept your offer to join your fleet" she said.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Looking over the list of personnel there were 327 people on the Badger and two ships that could carry them. The Vega was a larger than average "flattop" ship and the Lippet was a medium sized cargo ship. There were also over 20 shuttles including 5 Leonis "Danger" class shuttles that while over 80 years old did have decent weaponry on them. Too bad the amount of ammo they had was very low. The supplies had been organized after the attack so an accurate current count and getting them ready wouldn't take that long. The tools and equipment would be very helpful in the long term. "Edgar how long would it take to get the larger pieces of machinery that can be put on the Lippet ready" asked Carl.
"I would guess about a day or so" replied Edgar.
"I am interested in the ships that you have the are not jump capable" said Colonel Marton. A couple were FTL ships that had been stripped of their engines and there was a sublight space tug. While probably not fixable they were a lot of potential parts. "If we cut them into chunks could we fit them into the Epsiki and if so could it be done in less than 2 days?"
"Looking over the specs for the Epsiki I would say they would fit and yes we could cut them into up in the timeframe" Edgar replied. "Since we won't be putting them back together it can be ugly and quick."
"Alright then we are going to strip the Badger of anything useful and leave in 48 hours" said Anika. "When the Lippet is fully loaded then we can have the Epsiki pick up the scrap ships and any left over supplies."
The plan while rough did seem to be workable. Colonel Marton decided to leave 2 Raptors here to protect the Badger and send the other pair to search Helios Delta. The last official Colonial notification that the Badger had picked up was the Commander Adama of the Galactica had taken command of the fleet and to rendezvous at Ragnar Anchorage and that the Secretary of Education was now President of the Colonies. Hopefully some information could be picked up there.
