Chapter 6: New Forms
Summer is coming to an end, and it shows in the pack. All parents are preparing for the return of their children to school. It's always an event, and it's also quite stressful, because nobody knows how it's going to happen. A pack is never big enough to afford its own school. Additionally, it is important for young werewolves to learn how humans live and what rules govern them. This is very important for the cohabitation between humans and werewolves to go well. Of course, the school will provide some courses related to them, so that humans can also learn about their ways of life, their customs and their rules and laws.
Unfortunately, there are times when it doesn't go well at all. As in all schools, whether nursery, primary or secondary, harassment is rampant. Every year, it claims dozens of victims and no one seems to react. It is often young werewolves who are the victims, because they are considered to be marginal and unable to adapt to human life. When things like this happen, a quote comes up quite often: "In the mouths of children is the truth of parents". This quote means that children often repeat what their parents say, without really knowing the meaning.
At the territory of the pack, all the children were busy getting ready. They got up early, because it's the first day of school today, and they don't want to be late. They want to make a good impression and hope to make friends. They know that the contact will surely not be easy and that they will have to redouble their efforts. Rosewood remains a small town that doesn't really know werewolves. So far, the only werewolf the town has known is Aria, and she's always hidden what she is. She didn't want to be judged by people, although she didn't care. She was just worried that people would be scared of her and what she might do to them, even though she's never been aggressive towards anyone in that town.
Once the kids were dropped off at school, Kurt and Aria began to reflect on what happened a few weeks ago. They had managed to reach their original form, out of a fit of rage, but they still succeeded. Moreover, this event does not seem to have really affected their children, because they very quickly regained their joy of living and were no longer afraid of anything.
Anyway, since they managed to achieve this form, they should be able to teach it to the pack. Indeed, the original form is linked to a special gene, unique to the werewolves of their pack. However, this gene is blocked, which prevents this transformation from occurring, especially if it is uncontrolled and related to emotions. A strong emotion can unlock this gene and access this transformation. In very rare cases, when it is reached, it is in a controlled manner. This is an exceptional case that only happens to the most pure and worthy werewolves. Only they are able to transmit the gene of this form to their pack and teach them how to reach it.
It turns out that it was Kurt and Aria who reached her, because they are the Alphas of the pack and it is always an Alpha who reaches her first. They were also perfectly in control of themselves, while they were surprised and did not expect this at all. These two together prove that they are pure and worthy. They have, no doubt, already transmitted this gene to their pack. All they have to do is teach them how to achieve this form and control it if they don't get it the first time.
But, this is where the problem arises. They do not know how to reach it again, because they do not have the means to feel strong emotions in their territory. Ezra had offered to bring his mother, so that the rage invades everyone again and that they can access this transformation. Although it was ironic, just thinking about that idea gave him goosebumps. He has settled accounts with his mother and he does not expect to see her again on the territory.
Of course, Aria had refused his proposal even though she knew he was joking. She had seen the look of panic that crossed his eyes when he brought up the idea. Blaine, also in a joking tone, offers to bring Sebastian over, for the same reasons. Everyone hates him and Santana risks eviscerating him if he ever goes after Blaine again. Kurt also refused, finding it unnecessary. Bringing in pack enemies just to trigger strong emotions is a waste of time.
For Kurt and Aria, the only effective way to trigger this transformation is to focus and not think about anything else. With any luck, that should be enough. Everyone knows what an extremely difficult shape it is to achieve and that they are going to have to be really, really patient, no matter how eager they are to master this transformation.
The rest of the day passed in a flood of explanation and endless research. Few people had actually studied, or even seen, this form. The werewolves who managed to reach it are long dead. The only testimonies are very old and contain little or no answers to the pack's questions. All they know is what their ancestors are, and that was almost a hundred years ago. In all this time, no other werewolf in this pack has achieved this form.
It was fast approaching to pick up the children from school, so they hurried to get there before the bell rang. When the children came out, they saw their sad looks. They were in a group, far from the human children, who laughed when they saw them. It's clear that something happened and the harassment started.
Directly, Kurt went to find a professor and asked for an explanation. He expected things to go wrong. He had hope that everything would go well, and constantly chased away the idea that it was going badly. So seeing that he was, unfortunately, right put him in a state of sadness and anger. He wanted to understand what had happened and that's why he will demand precise explanations from the first teacher he saw.
"What happened? Was there a problem? I want an explanation."
"Oh, you must be one of the parents of the new kids. Well, you know, children can be very cruel to each other. It's very often difficult to find the source of a conflict and put a stop to it. term. But, believe us, we are doing our best".
"Oh yes, thank you, I know that very well. I myself have been bullied for years. Over time, I have learned to deal with it. But our children are not. They are only three years old, they don't yet know how horrible the world can be, especially for us werewolves. We don't want them to experience the horrible and evil side of human beings yet, because they're way too young to understand it."
The teacher, who was checking the children out of school, lowered his head, seeming to understand what Kurt meant. She knows they're young to experience the cruelty of the world around them, but they can't avoid it. Although it's a small town, there are some fairly wealthy people who want to send their children to the only elementary school in town, and seeing that young werewolves go there also angers them.
Aria looked around and saw large, rather expensive cars parked in the various available parking spaces. She understood which are the main problems. It is these people, who spend their money lavishly, who do not want them. Some even come from neighboring towns and therefore do not know them. They don't even have to know what a werewolf really is and just rely on myths and legends. The ones who say they are aggressive, bloodthirsty beasts ready to kill anyone.
The whole pack had noticed this ballet of luxury cars and they had understood very well that they must be contemptuous towards them. Just the look one of them gave them says it all. The professor, always present, didn't really know how to handle the situation. She didn't really expect them to meet. This risks being explosive, if we consider that these people, very wealthy, do not appreciate them at all, for a more than unknown reason.
Kurt decided not to linger, not wanting an argument to break out outside a school. That would give them a very bad reputation. He also felt that the rest of the pack was angry, so much so that he could taste their anger. Being able to taste the emotions of people or other werewolves is unique to their species. This happens when the emotion felt is very strong. It's happened before, especially when Ezra's mother made her surprise appearances. Aria could taste Ezra's fear, he was so panicked, and he could taste the anger, the rage, of the pack when she defended him.
Aria understood that Kurt wanted to go home, so she followed him. The whole pack followed him, realizing that it was useless to linger, because it might trigger hostilities they didn't want. The children followed their parents, not even looking behind them. They looked upset and were even starting to say they don't want to go back. It seems that the meanness of the other children reminded them of what happened a few months ago. They haven't forgotten their kidnapping, but they wanted to make their parents proud by pretending it didn't affect them anymore. They wanted to be strong, valiant werewolves who weren't afraid of anything or anyone.
However, neither Kurt, nor Aria, nor the other members of the pack, were fooled. They knew very well that it still affected them enormously and encouraged them to talk about it. Of course, as stubborn as their parents, the young cubs said nothing. They just played with each other and covered up their nightmares as best they could. They saw their parents and wanted to learn from them. They always seemed fearless to them, ready to fight against very dangerous people.
In the evening, all the children were gathered around the fire in the central courtyard. Contrary to their habits, they weren't running or making noise. They just stared at the fire dreading tomorrow. The young Alphas, Ellie and Liam, were trying hard to stay strong, so the rest of their little pack could stay strong too. They are the ones who will lead the pack when the time comes, so they can't afford to be weak. They are Alphas, they are strong and fearsome.
Kurt came over to them and hugged his son. He allowed himself to bring the other children closer to him, seeking to reassure them through this gesture. He understood very well what was going on in their head and he wanted to do something so that they didn't feel bad anymore. He took a deep breath, having already repeated this speech several times in his head.
"You know, children, being afraid is not a sign of weakness. We all have the right to be afraid, no matter our status or what scares us. But, what is important is to tell us or someone else about it so that the situation can be resolved. I know that school scares you, since you have not had a good experience at all. But you also know that it is something very important".
All nodded, respecting their Alpha's wise words. He was right, they don't want to go back to that scary place. Everyone present called them a monster, because they had claws and fangs, their eyes glowed an intense orange color, and they had weird ears and a tail. Nobody understood why they are like that and when they said they were Omegas, the only response received was screams of terror.
"They don't like us, dad. They said we're freaks...we're scary...they don't want us...are we going to be kicked out of school? ".
"No, of course not. We won't let that happen. If they have something to complain about, they should come and say it to your face instead of traumatizing you. Starting tomorrow, we'll have a serious discussion with the director. We'll make him understand the situation and if he doesn't act...well, we'll be the ones to act."
Again, all the children nodded. It was getting late, they have to go home and go to bed. They quickly realized what time it is and rushed into their house, before their parents came to pick them up. Only Ellie didn't, as she followed Kurt home. It's become a habit for him to drop Ellie off at Aria's. And sometimes the reverse happens. Aria drops Liam off at Kurt's. It's normal in a pack to care for other people's children, especially Alphas. They are the ones who have the most developed parental instinct, so they are the ones who love to take care of other people's children and play with them.
The rest of the week passed the same way. There are always problems at school and the principal doesn't seem to want to change things. So the decision to homeschool them was quickly made. Of course, this could be quite complicated. On the one hand, almost no kindergarten teacher is willing to take care of homeschooled children. On the other hand, no professor would want to venture into the territory of a pack of werewolves. But, a solution was indeed found, after a few days of reflection.
Although werewolves are considered people in their own right, they are not subject to the laws of humans. School is therefore not compulsory, but only recommended. Nor do they need to receive lessons from a qualified teacher. The members of the pack in which they were born can very well take care of their education. They are much more knowledgeable than humans and children won't lose the bearings they are used to by moving around several times a day.
That's what was decided for all the kids in Kurt and Aria's pack. No exams or tests, just a good time. The best way to teach a young werewolf is through play. And, who better than the members they've known since birth? Thus, they will learn everything they need to know, without fear that someone with bad intentions will insult or harass them.
All the children in the pack were happy with this decision. They started screaming with joy and running around. It has been decided that the lessons will take place every other week, because the pack also has things to settle between them. Thanks to this, children will learn patience very quickly.
One Saturday afternoon, Emma was sitting by the fire. She likes to take advantage of its warmth, because it allows her to get used to her new life more calmly. She has completely gotten used to her new werewolf condition, although she hadn't expected it at all. Learning that she was born, and visibly linked to this pack, was even more surprising. She resented her parents for days, because they were the ones who prevented her from having her first transformation, when she was three years old. They are also the ones who forced her to take pills for a little over thirty years, under the pretext of a so-called allergy to the sun, an allergy which she obviously does not have.
Emma opened and closed her hands, seeing her claws extend, then retract. She always found it impressive, knowing that she had real edged weapons right at her fingertips. She is aware of the damage she can do with her claws, like the damage she can do with her fangs. She had already taken the time to look at herself in the mirror and see her long fangs spread out in the continuity of her canines. She had also seen his eyes take on their orange color, like all the Omegas in the pack. This color was even more fiery and intense than the orange color of a bright fire.
Like all the other werewolves in the pack, Emma was present during the photo shoot they gave for this fashion magazine. This allowed him to see his wolf form, and also to get used to it. Indeed, it was only the second time that she turned into a wolf, so she is not completely used to it yet. But, thanks to that, she was able to realize what she looks like when she turns into a wolf. She too was surprised to see that his fur is red, pulling on shades of copper. She expect to be completely brown or black.
Emma continued to enjoy the warmth of the fire, loving the surrounding air and the stillness there is today. After a few minutes, she heard cries of children playing among themselves. They seemed to be fighting, although they didn't hurt each other. About five minutes later, all the children came up to her, smiling toothily. Their fangs, although very small due to their young age, are quite visible. Very curious, they do not stop asking questions to everyone they meet. And, today seems to be Emma's turn, and she won't be able to escape it.
Liam and Ellie went to sit on either side of Emma, while Gabriel played with her tail. Talia decides to play with Emma's ears, finding their red color quite intriguing. Kai, on the other hand, started talking about the name his parents chose, namely Camden, and that he prefers his nickname. He refuses to be called by his first name, even if he knows that this nickname will surely not be able to remain in the professional environment. Kelly, she sits down in front of Emma and waits for the question to be asked of her so that she can argue. It was Liam who took it upon himself to ask the question that burned his lips.
Indeed, the children have very little contact with Emma. They don't really know her, and they're curious how she joined the pack. They want to know who bit her or if it happened by accident. Emma is the only pack member they haven't pestered with their questions, so they decided to change things up. For them, Emma is just a person they see from time to time, with whom they have very little contact and who gives them lessons from time to time to complete their learning. The curiosity of a child having no limit, they decided to get to know it.
"Who bit you? Was it an accident? Did you want to? Do you like life in the pack? Why are you redheaded?"
The questions were raining and Emma did not know what to answer. She did not expect at all to have to reveal her story, and even less to children who were far too curious. She knows the vast majority of the pack must know how she ended up as a werewolf, but she doesn't like to talk about it too much. Each time, this brings up a boiling rage against her parents and she stops herself from going to kill them. Emma is not a violent person by nature, in fact, she almost always seeks to flee from danger. But now, when it comes to her parents, she knows she won't hesitate to slaughter them to make them pay for what they did to her when she was little. She could have lived a nice childhood, if she had not been made to repress her very first transformation.
Emma took the time to organize her thoughts and think about all the answers to the questions she was asked and in what order she should answer them. During this time, the children looked at her, always with the same big smile that characterizes them. They are always smiling, no matter the situation.
"Oh, well...I...I haven't been bitten by anyone, kids. With your parents, we found out that I was born that way. Nobody knew, not even me, but it that's the case. My parents put me on special drugs so that I wouldn't transform. You know, when you're three years old, you do your first transformation. Well, my parents stopped me, because that they didn't want a werewolf child. They were afraid, although it wasn't justified at all. Now I don't talk to them anymore and that's fine. Finally, of course that I love life in the pack. It's in my genes. I can't not appreciate it. And also, my ginger color is like that. I didn't choose it, I was born with it".
The children looked at her, impressed. Some seemed angry that her parents stopped her from having her first makeover when she was three years old. There's nothing worse for a werewolf than not being able to transform when the time comes. But, she seems to have lived it well, because she has been transformed from it only quite recently. In fact, she realized her true nature only four years ago, and she became fully adapted and accustomed to it only a year ago. Before, she was not at all used to it or even ready for such a big transition. She staggered a lot on her four legs, and it still happens to her now.
"It's not cool. They shouldn't have done that. They're not nice".
"I agree that they shouldn't have done that, but who could have stopped them? Your parents weren't even born at that time and there was no one who was ready to welcome a werewolf into their family. Guess they did what they thought was right, though it wasn't at all. But, that's in the past now. The most important is that I discovered what I really am and that I can finally live among my own".
Again, all the children nodded in unison, still impressed with Emma's story. They didn't know what to expect when they popped the question, but they were hoping for something happier than that. In any case, they understood that Emma is much happier here than in her old life.
Days passed and Kurt and Aria continued to think about how to achieve this new form. So far, everything they've found hasn't proven to be conclusive, and that pissed them off. This form is important for them, for the whole pack, because it is part of their history, that of the werewolves.
This form, soberly called original form, is the first form that werewolves took when they transformed. Over the years, it has been refined to become the one we know today, that is to say the parts of the wolf that stand out on the human form of the werewolf. It's much more practical for fighting or for impressing people. Over time, the original form disappeared, remaining hidden only in the genes of the werewolves belonging to the original pack. Only they can reach it, and thus multiply their power tenfold.
However, this form has not been observed since the last century, the arrival of the modern world surely preventing this pack from reaching it. Now Kurt and Aria are looking for a way to reach it, in order to increase the power of their pack and be more efficient in case of trouble. They are sure of one thing, the sudden mass gain and size tear their clothes. They will, therefore, have to completely undress to be able to take it more easily, and that may not please everyone.
The first person who is going to comment on this is Rachel. She is very modest by nature, even if she likes to show the extent of her many talents. But, when it comes to showing off her body, she is not at all comfortable. Kurt is pretty sure she will adamantly refuse to get naked in front of the whole pack, even if her clothes rip when she transforms.
The second person who won't be too happy is Lucas. He is quite shy, talks very little with the members of the pack. In fact, the only person he sympathizes with and chats with on a regular basis is Hanna.
Otherwise, he is not very close to other people and even fears that they will laugh at him. He will surely refuse to undress, too, but not for the same reasons as Rachel. He just doesn't want the pack to laugh at him for being the least muscular.
After several more hours of reflection, everything was ready. Aria went to reunite the pack while Kurt considered how to handle the different reactions that might occur. But, fortunately for him, he knows them well enough to be able to anticipate their reactions and know how to handle them. Once they were all present, the explanation can begin.
"Okay guys, we managed to find a way for you and for us to get back to original form. We're just going to have to focus on everything around us and the changes that are going to take place in us, in our body. You also have to know that it's going to be painful, very painful. We know what we're talking about, we've experienced it without really wanting to. Last thing, you're going to have to undress completely, because that will rip all your clothes apart. There's no point letting them rip when you know how to avoid it."
As expected, the reactions were not long in coming. Rachel started complaining straight away, not wanting to be naked in front of the whole pack. She is not ashamed of her body, but she values her modesty. It's another thing she won't stop complaining about, the first being their learning to hunt.
The others had no particular reactions. They understood very well the challenge of this brand new transformation and they will almost blindly follow the instructions given by their Alphas. For their part, Blaine and Ezra had already started taking their clothes off. They found themselves shirtless in front of the whole pack and they didn't take the time to wait before continuing their undressing. Of course, everyone was quite surprised to see them so comfortable being completely naked, but it didn't shock them that much.
The pack followed the example set by their Betas, except for Rachel, who remained sulky in her corner. She doesn't care if her clothes are torn, she doesn't want everyone to see her body. Kurt growled slightly in frustration, because he expected it. Aria didn't know what to do. She doesn't push too hard on the Omegas bitten by Kurt, because she doesn't really know them, and Kurt does the same. The only time she got a hold of Omegas bitten by Kurt was during an argument between Rachel and Quinn that turned into a fight. There, she felt compelled to intervene to prevent it from degenerating into something more serious.
Kurt looked at Aria, and realized that she didn't dare impose herself on Rachel. He knows she hates what is considered disrespect or outright disobedience. Her Alpha instincts tell him to go to Rachel and make her understand that she has no choice but to comply with what has been ordered. However, she thinks Kurt is in a better position to do this, since they have already known each other for a long time.
"I know what you're thinking. You have every right to go see her to explain to her that her behavior is not acceptable. It's true that we take care more of those we know, but nothing prevents us from going to see those we know less. And, for the time, she knows how you work. She saw your look and directly followed the movement. Nothing more radical than a very red look to make people understand to an Omega that he disobeyed a direct order".
"Yeah, you're right. But hey, I'm not sure how she's going to react, since she's a little unpredictable around the edges anyway. She can very well take what I tell her, like getting angry because he didn't like it."
"I know she's unpredictable, but she's not that much. And she usually avoids getting angry at us by getting mad at us. She knows very well that we are the Alphas of the pack and she knows very well that it is Blaine and Ezra who are the Beta. The four of us represent an authority that it is very inadvisable to defy. She will never dare to go against one of our decisions She'll just bitch and complain, but that's it."
Aria nodded and went to prepare for this new transformation. Kurt did the same, still unsure of how it was going to turn out. It is a transformation which is very painful, and which can take several hours. When they triggered it, it was done in a few minutes, because they were in a situation where they had to hurry to save their young. But there, they are in a calm environment, where there is no danger, which means that this transformation will surely take several hours.
When the transformation is done in several hours, the werewolf will feel all the effects, both positive and negative. He will feel his bones breaking inside him, to grow. He will feel his muscles tearing under the effect of the sudden development that they will take. All this combined is very painful and there is nothing we can do to lessen this pain. You just have to wait for it to pass and for the transformation to end. From there, the more they practice taking it, the quicker and painlessly they can transform. Like everything, it's just a matter of practice and getting used to it.
Kurt went to see Emma, knowing that she was the werewolf least accustomed to his condition. So taking on a whole new form, very painful the first time, is very scary for her. She's not a person who can handle pain easily. At the slightest headache, she throws herself on the first wafer of painkillers she finds. So taking on such a whole new level of pain is even scarier.
Kurt wasted no time and reassured her directly. He and Aria will stay by her side at all times, and will watch that everything is going well. Emma nodded, understanding very well the instructions given, but admitting that she did not feel very comfortable without clothes. Very few people feel comfortable being naked, but all make an effort. In packs, seeing another person's body is not shocking at all. In fact, it's part of them, and nobody really cares anymore if someone is dressed or not.
Once the whole pack was ready, they went to settle in a place specially prepared for the occasion. They are a bit off their territory, but still close enough to intervene in case of a problem. Children under the supervision of their grandparents, because they are far too young to learn to master this new form. They will learn it when they are older and calmer, because it requires a lot of calm and concentration.
Several minutes passed and the first effects were already beginning to be felt. All of them felt their bones breaking inside them, especially in their spine. For those watching the scene, they could see it sticking out of their backs in rounded peaks. It lengthened as the seconds went by, just like the bones in their arms and legs. Screams of pain echoed throughout the forest, scaring away any attackers who wanted to try their luck. These cries quickly turned into powerful roars, still in pain.
Although it looks quite fast for a first time, the transformation is very far from over. It's only the beginning, but it's a pretty quick start compared to what was announced. All looked at each other and they saw that they had the same thing. Dark lines, the color of their fur, ran all over their bodies, as if they were veins. This shows how their fur will be, which respects that of their wolf. These lines are a sign that a werewolf is about to transform. Once this transformation is completely mastered, they will be able to make these lines appear whenever they want and can transform as they please.
The first hour passed rather slowly for the pack. Their transformation has progressed a little, but it is not yet complete. For now, their fur is slowly starting to show and their body is just beginning to deform to take on the features of this huge, bipedal wolf. It is the deformation of their body itself that causes the most pain, but the rest is not to be pitied. The appearance of their fur under these stretching lines gives them the impression of excruciating burns. For the first time in their werewolf condition, the unfolding of their fangs and the release of their claws is very painful. And, for good reason, they take on a more considerable size than usual.
The second hour passed and the transformation advanced with it. Their body is completely distorted and begins to take on the final features of the form. Their fur has fully appeared, making the rest of the transformation less monstrous, as it's harder to make out the face of the person contorting into the jaws of a wolf. It is important to note that this form does not really allow them to speak, unless they spend hours training to master the atrophied vocal cords. Their only means of communication will be their howls, growls and roars. Humans will not be able to understand them and will surely believe them in aggression.
About two more hours later, the transformation is completely complete. They started to get up, very slowly, but they staggered on their big hind legs. Although they are used to walking on two legs, they are not used to doing so with such long and slender limbs. The top of their body is a little more muscular than the bottom, but it is still thin and slender. They are made for speed, for power and strength. In this form, nothing can resist them.
Very quickly, the first players began to show up. Although they are bipedal, they can walk very well on all fours, and this, with great ease. Blaine, despite his serious looks, is the most playful of the pack. He started walking towards Kurt, calling him to play. He circled around him, staggering on his feet, but that didn't stop him. He made sounds that sounded like yelps, and the rest of the pack followed suit. They realized that they can't talk, so they communicate the same way as wolves or dogs. Yelps, barks, howls and growls are on the agenda. It felt like a symphony of sounds that made no sense to each other.
Kurt and Aria looked at their entire pack, wearing a proud expression. They knew it was going to be very difficult, especially for those who find it difficult to bear the pain. But, they all made an effort and they managed to achieve a form they thought was unattainable. It gives them more strength, a much more impressive stature, and new ways to play with each other.
Kurt wasn't surprised to see them all busy running or jumping, learning about their new limbs and what they can do with them. They don't know how long they will stay in this form, but they hope to stay there as long as possible, because it's fun. After all, it is also a question of mastery. Once they have mastered it completely, they will be able to change their form very quickly and whenever they want.
Several hours later, night began to show. It's time for the pack to go home and go to sleep. They all returned to their human form, much more easily than they thought, but that didn't matter too much. It would just seem that returning to human form is just easier than taking on this brand new transformation. It's also a matter of training.
When they returned to their territory, all their children jumped on them, demanding the details of everything that happened. They want to know if they can do it, too, and they want to know when they can do it. They want to be like the grown-ups, able to change when they want. As of now, they haven't mastered their transformation yet, as they can't retract their claws or fangs. They do not master their wolf parts which are apparent. Again, it's just a matter of time and practice. With age, they will be fully capable of mastering these and all other transformations. For the moment, the only one they have mastered is their wolf form, because it comes naturally, without anyone needing to teach them.
One thing is certain, nothing and no one can stop the pack. They are much more powerful than before, much faster and more agile. If any hunters attempt to break into their territory, they will be greeted by giant angry werewolves. Now they are fully capable of defending themselves, without fear of being beaten. The whole pack is safe, their territory is too. They can finally live, even if cohabitation risks being complicated. But, they will do anything to be accepted.
