Future Potter-Prince's

Chapter 9: Classes

It was seven o'clock in the morning and Harry was making breakfast for everyone whilst Severus was getting the kids ready for the day. Not that they had anything planned, other than trying to figure out what to do, because they really couldn't spend the whole year locked up in their apartment. But still, it is nice to have some kind of routine that allows them to get things done, such as Harry doing his schoolwork that Severus had gotten a Dobby to get for them each day, and Severus was contacting some Potion Masters he knew and trusted to teach the students.

Harry looked up from the stove; on which he was making some eggy bread, along with some sausages, bacon and other bits; as he heard the door to the kid's bedroom opening and he smiled as they all came racing to the table, smiling and chattering away, and Severus came over to Harry, smiling as his eyes flickered from the kids to him.

"Smells good," Severus said as he stood next to Harry, leaning against the counter next to the oven.

"Thank you," Harry said, a slight blush lighting up his cheeks.

But before either of them could say anything else there was a knock on the door. Harry shared a worried look with Severus before the man stalked over to it, opening it to find a nervous looking Neville on the other side.

"Hi, sir, how are you today?" Neville said softly, a nervous smile on his lips.

"I am alright, Mr Longbottom. How are you?" Severus said, and although there was gentleness in it, there was also a slight edge.

"I'm good, thank you. May I come in?" Neville asked.

"Of course," Severus said, moving to the side to let Harry's friend in before closing the door firmly behind him.

Neville smiled nervously at Harry before the kids noticed him and screamed in excitement, all rushing over to tackle him to his knees.

"Uncle Nev! You're here," Aurora said happily.

"Erm, yeah. I'm here," Neville said, rather shocked by the whole thing as he held them close, although there was a happy light in his eyes too as he looked between them and Harry who was still at the stove but looking at them whenever he had a second.

Harry smiled brightly at the scene.

"Nev, would you like to join us for breakfast?" Harry asked as he began to plate up the food on platters so they could help themselves.

"I'd love to, Harry," the other boy said, beaming at Harry, who beamed back.

"Good," Harry said, "Thank you," he said to Severus as the man started taking the platters over to the table, along with plates, cutlery, cups and jugs of drinks.

It wasn't long before they were all gathered at the table and helping themselves to food. Neville rather happily sat between the twins and chatted/listened to them kindly as they regaled them with tales.

Partway through the meal Remi climbed onto Harry's lap and proceeded to steal some of his food, not that he minded. He just held her close and listened to everyone talking.

"So, Mr Longbottom, is there a reason why you were knocking on our door at just after seven in the morning?" Severus asked softly, curiously as they all began to finish their food.

"Oh, right, yes," Neville said, placing his knife and fork down on the table, "Firstly, you may call me Neville, Professor. It only makes sense if your children are calling me Uncle Nev," he said with a smile, "Secondly, Professor McGonagall came to me this morning because apparently she can't get near your rooms and she… would like you and Harry back in classes. She wanted me to tell you to go back to teaching and Harry to go back to his own classes. Though she didn't say anything about… well, anything else really," he shrugged.

Harry and Severus tensed.

"What does she expect us to do with the kids?" Harry said, "We can't just…" he smirked, looking at Severus, "We could take them with us. If they want us to attend classes, then my bet is that they are expecting us to either leave the kids here with some house elves, or to ask for help with them from some of the other members of staff. I can take Remi, you can keep the other three safe in your classroom, and I have potions today anyways, a double period. But we can protect them, and we can do what they want whilst doing what we want, and messing with them. Maybe they'll even share with us their own thoughts and plans, and we can work on plans of our own,"

Severus' lips twitched upwards, "We do what they want, but in our own way," he said with a grin, "And, if anyone even thinks of touching the kids, we can show them all what we are capable of so that they won't think to do such a thing again,"

"It would be wonderful to mess with them. Whilst we can anyway," Harry said, smiling slightly at his soulmate.

"Indeed it would," Severus said with an understanding smirk, "Supposing that you, Mr Longbottom, will be up for protecting Harry and Remi if needed," his eyes darkened as he turned to face Neville, who gulped nervously.

"Of course, sir," Neville said, his voice strong as he sat up straighter.

"Good," Severus said after a moment, "If Remi starts having trouble then bring her straight to me, I don't care what you are doing at the time, just come and we will help her as much as we can," he added, looking at Harry.

"Will do," Harry said.

Harry left the rooms with an excited Remi in his arms and Neville at his sides. Remi looked around as much as she could as Harry held her close, ignoring the looks of everyone they passed who were looking at them in confusion and many other emotions, too.

Of course, their first lesson was transfiguration, and they arrived at the class to find Ron and Hermione waiting outside for them, looking like they were trying to hide their anger. Remi shrank into his robes as she saw them and he held her closer, running his hand up and down her back.

"Harry, we've been so worried," Hermione said with a small, forced smile on her face, "I don't believe you were meant to bring one of the… children with you," she said, confused.

Harry raised an eyebrow at her, "And what else are we supposed to do with our children but bring them to class with us? You hate the use of house elves, and we would much rather raise them ourselves anyway. And we don't have a baby sitter," Harry said.

"Mate, you aren't seriously thinking about raising kids with Snape are you?" Ron said disgustedly.

"Yep, I am. Can we actually go into class now? I really just want to get this all over with so I can go and see my other babies," Harry said, trying to move past them.

"They aren't your babies, Harry. They can't be. It isn't right. It isn't natural. You are meant to be with Ginny," Hermione said.

"I'm not meant to be with anyone I don't want to be with. Although, I shall inform you that I have a lovely little inheritance test from Gringotts which tells me that Severus Snape is my soulmate. And you have no right telling me that my children aren't natural. I have a womb, just like you do. Mine is powered by magic rather than run by hormones and ovaries, sure, but it works just fine. And my connection to my children is as natural as magic itself. So I would like to kindly ask you to leave me and my family alone, because if you don't, and if you insist on trying to get me with Ginny, or calling myself and my children unnatural, then I will get the goblins involved in… keeping you away from me," Harry stepped into the classroom and grimaced as everyone turned to look at him in shock. He sat in a seat at the back of the classroom, still holding Remi close, and Neville sat next to him, thankfully there were no other seats nearby for the two morons to sit in.

"Mr Potter, I do believe I asked for you to attend classes, not for your children to, also," McGonagall said sternly as she made her way over.

"Perhaps you should have thought about that before requiring I return to class at the last possible minute," Harry said, ignoring the gasps, and the snickers.

"That is no way to speak to me, Mr Potter. Five points from Gryffindor,"

Harry shrugged.

"There are house elves for a reason, Mr Potter," McGonagall said.

"Sorry, but Severus and I don't want to allow house elves to raise our children. We believe the poor creatures have enough to do, plus we would much rather do it ourselves, you know, like parents are supposed to do. Plus there is the fact that we don't really want to leave our babies alone knowing that you lot want to question them and such. And the vast majority of the house elves belong to the castle and are, therefore, unwillingly tethered to the Headmaster and are required to do what he wants them to do, even if they don't agree with it, and so if we used a house elf, that wasn't one of our own house elves, then they would have been forced to take the children to him for questioning. And we don't want that. So I have Remi with me, because she doesn't really like being separated from me at the moment, I also don't really like being separated from her, or the others, either, and the other three are with Severus in his classroom. If this is a problem, however, then I am more than happy to take Remi back home and continue doing my work from there," Harry said innocently.

"It is dangerous for a toddler to be present in a NEWT level transfiguration class, Mr Potter,"

"Why? She isn't going to move from my arms, and I am going to keep a shield around us the whole time so no one can fire any spells at us, and Neville will also keep us shielded, and I'm not going to hex my own daughter. Who do you think I am, honestly? But hey, if you don't want us here, I am very happy to leave and do my work from the comfort of my own home," Harry said, rather exasperated by this point, "I mean, considering you've already wasted five minutes of this class when I could've been studying at home all this time, I feel like I would much rather leave anyway. Especially since you're making Remi, and myself, feel rather uncomfortable here. Like we're not welcome. Do you also think we're not natural? I mean, I am a tad shocked, because I didn't think you would be the type to think anyone unnatural, but then again, my ex-friends think I am so who knows at this point," he shrugged.

"Of course I don't think you're unnatural, Mr Potter," she tutted, "I just don't think it wise for there to be a toddler in this classroom,"

"As I said, she isn't going to move from my arms, and Neville and I are perfectly capable of keeping her safe. If her health issues flare up, I will leave so that Severus and I can help her. But I am not going to stay here if you don't leave us alone and start this lesson in the next few seconds. You are just wasting everyone's time, and in such an important year, I don't think that is very ideal," Harry said, a fierce look in his eyes as he took out his wand and cast a shield around himself, Remi and Neville. Neville did the same, earning a shocked look from McGonagall that had Harry glaring perhaps a little too hard at her.

"Fine, you can stay. But if she causes too much of a disruption then I will have to ask you to leave," McGonagall said.

"Oh, I will be glad to," Harry said cheerfully as he moved to take out his book and other equipment.

After that class went rather smoothly. He ignored the glares and whispers from Ron and Hermione, but everyone else seemed okay with having him and his daughter there. In fact, he spied a few smiles coming their way as he and Remi interacted with each other, Remi awed over the magic he was doing for her, her little giggles shining through the classroom. He wasn't even surprised that most of those smiles were coming from the Slytherins, considering he knew that Severus had had a few talks with them over the last week.

Neville, Remi and he were the first to leave the classroom, speeding through the hallways, and using a few secret passageways that Ron and Hermione didn't know to get to their next class.

Thankfully none of the other teachers had problems with Remi being there, so long as she didn't fuss too much. Which she didn't, of course. And thankfully her health issues didn't flare up either. He wasn't sure he would be able to handle that, especially with Hermione and Ron right there, glaring at them.

And he breathed a sigh of relief as he entered the potions classroom and saw his family at the front of the room, behind a shimmering shield, Severus' lips twitched upwards at the sides as he saw him and Remi walking towards him.

"Daddy," Remi shouted excitedly, grinning an adorable grin as she bounced from Harry's arms into Severus' as if they hadn't seen each other an hour and a half ago at lunch, and they ignored everyone else who was making their ways into the room.

"Mum, we made a potion," Leo said as he bounced over to Harry excitedly from the table behind Severus' desk that he and the other two were standing at, glancing into a bubbling cauldron.

"Nice, what one did you make?" Harry said happily as Leo took his hand and dragged him over to the table.

"We made a colour changing one, to make something green," Aurora said, pointing to the fairy cake that had already been turned green with the aid of the potion.

"Well done, I am very proud of you all," Harry said, beaming at them as they wrapped their arms around him.

He glanced up as the classroom door closed and Severus cleared his throat to gather everyone's attention. Everyone was torn between awe, surprise, shock, and anger (Ron and Hermione) as they looked at Severus holding Remi.

"Now that everyone is here, I will warn you all that if anyone, and I do mean anyone," his eyes are hard as they move around the room, "attempts to blow up their potion, or someone else's potion, whilst my family are in this classroom, you will be out of this class, and not allowed back, before you can even think the word 'sorry'. Have I made myself clear?" his voice was hard, and stern, and protective as he held Remi close.

And Harry grinned as everyone nodded.

"If anyone comes near my family, touches one hair on their head, shoots one spell in their direction, or even something that isn't a spell, or, if an explosion from one of your potions causes any harm to any of them, even despite the shield charm around us, I will have you expelled from this classroom, and perhaps this school, with the aid of aurors and goblins. Am I clear?" Severus added, a smirk on his face.

And Merlin, Harry loved the safety he felt in that moment. The warmth, and love, and protection. All of it.

The looks of fear at varying levels on everyone's faces also just thrilled him in ways he never expected. But yes, if anyone even thought of touching his family, they would be out of here, in whatever way he and Severus felt like removing them.

"Right then," Severus said with a grin, "Today you will be making the draught of living death. The recipe is on the board. Get on with it," he flicked his hand towards the board and it flipped over so everyone could see the directions, before turning to Harry with a small smile, "Harry, you shall be working at my desk. The recipe is on the pages the book is turned to, and your ingredients and such are ready for you,"

"Thank you," Harry nodded with a smile before making his way over to the desk, looking at the familiarly annotated pages in the book and starting on his own potion.

It was an alright lesson.

Hiya, how are you all?

I am sorry for the delay, I was meant to update this last Tuesday, and I did start working on it then, but last week was a disaster, and this week hasn't been all that good either to be honest. But here we are, I tried my best. I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

Also, I have Tumblr now. My username is marauderingpaige if you want to go and give me a follow over there. I also have one more focussed on personal life and writing, username is paigemakepeacewrites. And I have a Discord server, too, a new one! If you would like the link then feel free to drop me an email (my address can be found on my profile) or message me on social media, or join my Facebook group, and I will happily share it with you.

I have also now started writing a fanfiction for House M.D. It is an omega verse fic with House as the omega and Wilson as the alpha. If you love the show as much as I do then feel free to go and check it out. It is called Lights Will Guide You Home.

Also, I am working on some Spotify playlists for my fanfics, so if you can think of any songs you think work with the stories as they are so far, or where you think they are going, or songs that give you the vibes you get from the stories, then please do let me know and I will give them a listen, then potentially add them to the playlists. If you would like to go and give them a listen as they are now then you can find me on Spotify under the name Maraudering_Paige. They aren't that long at the moment, but we are making progress and I will continue adding to them the more music I listen to and when I have the time to do so. But still, if you can think of any relevant songs then do let me know.

I have a Facebook group called Maraudering_Paige which you are all welcome to join if you would like to and are able to. It is where we can talk about Harry Potter, fanfics, life, share memes and more. It is also where I have somewhat of an update schedule for my fics and will be keeping you up to date on what I am working on, in regards to fanfics, original works, and more things. So if you are interested in joining then I am more than happy to accept you all.

I also now have a TikTok and an Instagram for my fanfic writing escapades. The username is maraudering_paige on both of them so feel free to follow me, and we shall see how often and what kinds of content I can post when I can. But it is another way for me to keep you all up to date if you don't have Facebook and such, and for me to spread the word about other things I am working on and things I want to do and such. So yeah, feel free to join me on those if you are able.

I hope you are having an amazing day!

Kind regards,

Paige xx
