In the beginning, there was nothing but an endless expanse of darkness. Amidst the void, a solitary figure floated, adrift like a boundless ocean. This figure was Destiny, whose mind was shrouded in uncertainty and confusion. She couldn't recall anything about herself or her past except for her name and an inexplicable sense of sadness that weighed heavily on her spirit.
Destiny drifted aimlessly through the emptiness, unable to discern any direction or landmarks in the abyss. She saw nothing but the all-consuming darkness that enveloped her as if she were trapped in a dream without end.
Then, without warning, a sudden burst of light erupted in the distance. It was a brilliant radiance that seemed to pierce through the darkness, illuminating everything around it. As the light grew brighter and more intense, a deep voice boomed from within it, echoing through the void and resonating within Destiny's very being.
"Welcome to my realm beyond time and space," The Voice said. It is well that thou art here; I am, which humans call Arceus." The voice said, getting Destiny's attention. "What is thy name?" Arceus spoke in a questioning manner as the light grew intently.
"Destiny," she mumbled out her name.
" Destiny... Soon thou shall find thyself in a world strange to thee, " Arceus said in a warning tone. In a world inhabited by wondrous creatures that humans call Pokemon,n," he said before suddenly staying quiet for a moment. Destiny... Seek out all the Pokemon,n, and thou shalt find me once more," the voice said as the light suddenly faded into the darkness.
Destiny woke up slowly, opening her eyes as she regained her senses. As she looked around, something felt off. Suddenly, she felt like she was falling, a sense of vertigo overwhelming her. She glanced ahead and saw her phone floating in the darkness, just out of reach.
As she reached out to grab it, she noticed that sparkles of light were starting to appear around her. They seemed to be gathering around her phone, and as she looked closer, she saw that they were forming a figure ahead of her and her phone. The figure seemed made entirely of light and was hovering just out of her reach.
Destiny looked at the figure in wonder as the light around it engulfed her phone, drawing it back into her hands. She gazed at the figure again and watched in amazement as she floated up into a crouching position, surrounded by the radiant glow. The light seemed to be consuming her, yet she felt no fear. Instead, she felt a sense of calm as she surrendered herself to the experience.
"Wake up!" a man's voice rang inside Destiny's head. It was loud and hard to ignore, but she closed her eyes. "Oh, do wake up, won't you?" the voice said desperately. Slowly, Destiny opened her eyes and saw three small creatures standing before her as she lay in the sand. "Are you alive, my girl?" the voice said as she opened her eyes. She looked up and found a man standing behind the three little creatures. With his help, she slowly stood up and began to look around.
The three small creatures gazed up at her, clearly worried. She looked around with a panicked expression, and the man who had come to her aid seemed just as troubled. After helping her up, he backed away, ensuring she could stand independently.
The man's cheerful voice was tinged with concern as he spoke to Destiny. "You gave me quite a shock falling from the sky like that," he said, looking at her with furrowed brows. "But thank goodness you seemed unharmed," he added with relief.
Destiny, still disoriented from her fall, spoke in a soft voice. "Thank you. Who are you? And where am I?"
The man's expression turned even more worried as he replied, "I'd like to ask you the same thing. You fell out of the sky, you understand? It's not something you see every day." He scrutinized her from head to toe, trying to make sense of the situation.
Despite her confusion, Destiny couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards the man for his kindness. She waited patiently for him to explain the situation as he continued to look at her with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
Destiny looked down at her attire and was taken aback by what she saw. She was wearing shorts, a simple A-shirt, and sandals that offered little protection to her feet. As she glanced at herself, the word "pajama" suddenly popped into her consciousness, but she quickly dismissed it with a shake of her head.
The man who stood before her was dressed in a more traditional attire, and his curious gaze made her feel self-conscious. "I must say, your clothing is rather unconventional. Do you happen to have any acquaintances in these parts?" he inquired, trying to make sense of her appearance.
Destiny hesitated momentarily before replying, "I'm not entirely sure," her voice barely above a whisper. She looked at the man with a hint of concern, wondering what he was thinking. The man could only stare back at her, his mind racing to piece together the puzzle of her strange appearance.
Destiny stumbled in confusion, and the man quickly rushed to her side, holding her up by her arm. "I see you're in a bit of a pickle," he said with concern. "Do you have somewhere to stay around here?"
The woman held her head, appearing disoriented. "I don't know," she mumbled faintly.
The man looked around, surveying the empty street. "So, you don't know anyone here, and you don't know where to spend the night. Well, this is a proper pickle indeed. Are you sure you can survive?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.
With tears streaming down her face, the woman shook her head. "I don't know what to do," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
As they sat on the sand, the three small creatures approached her as if sensing Destiny's distress. They hovered around her, their tiny feet taping the ground gently. The man watched this with interest and thought momentarily before an idea suddenly popped into his mind.
"I see. Well, no gentleman would abandon a person in need," the man said in a happy tone. Suddenly, the creature chirped as well, seeming to mock him. Shortly after, all the animals around it started to chirp in distinct ways.
"Oh my, I forgot that I had just captured these three runaway Pokemon when you tumbled out of the sky," the man said as he looked over at the three creatures standing next to her as she petted the head of the little blue one. "It's almost as if they knew that you would appear here," he mumbled as they cuddled up to her. Destiny could only look down at the blue one that had just crawled into her lap and wondered where she was. "Ah, but do you even know what a Pokemon is?" the man asked with a bit more excitement, seeming to want to forget that they were currently dealing with a difficult situation.
Destiny's fingers gently stroked the soft blue fur of the creature before her. "I'm not entirely sure," she mumbled, "They look and feel familiar, but I can't quite place them."
The man's eyes widened in shock as he crouched beside her, ensuring she was alright. "You truly have traveled a long way, haven't you?" he said with a smile. "Well, these are what we call Pokemon - very mysterious creatures. Marvelous, aren't they? You see, each Pokemon has its unique powers and abilities."
Suddenly realizing he had forgotten to ask for her name, he said, "By the way, I don't think I caught your name. What might it be?"
Destiny greeted the man with a warm smile and introduced herself. "My name is Destiny. It's a pleasure," she said politely.
The man responded in delight, "Oh, so you're called Destiny. That name is quite beautiful. It does have a lovely meaning as well," he added with a smile. Destiny returned a soft smile as she held a blue Pokemon. Suddenly, the man seemed concerned, "Oh, but I must apologize. I didn't even introduce myself," he said.
The atmosphere shifted, and the man appeared more relaxed as he introduced himself, "My name is Laventon. I'm a Pokemon professor, seeking to deepen our understanding of these fascinating creatures. These three here are some of my research subjects," he said. Still, his speech was interrupted as the Pokemon darted away. The little blue one cuddled with Destiny once more before joining his friends. "Oh blast and bother, my darling Pokemon, must you run from me?" the man exclaimed in frustration.
Destiny was confused, watching as the three Pokemon scampered away from her. She turned to the Professor as he spoke apologetically, "I'm sorry, but could you please help me round them up?" She knew he had just fallen out of the sky, but she was desperate and needed his assistance. Without waiting for a response, the Professor darted after the Pokemon, shouting to them, "Wait, you three, wait!" Destiny stretched out her hand and called out to him, watching as he disappeared into the distance, determined to retrieve the runaway creatures.
Destiny watched helplessly as the man she had been talking to walked away. She tried to call out to him, but her voice was too soft, and he was too far away to hear her. She felt a sinking feeling in her stomach as she realized she might never see him again.
Slowly, she got up, stumbling over herself until she finally regained her balance. She looked around, hoping to glimpse the man, but he was nowhere to be seen. "I hope they're okay," she muttered as she started walking down the path in the direction he had gone.
As she walked, she noticed something glowing on the ground. Curiosity getting the better of her, she approached the object cautiously. A ringing sound came from the light, and she realized it was a phone.
She picked it up slowly, recognizing that it looked like a phone she had seen before. But how did she know what a phone was? She wondered. The device was sleek and modern, with a large touchscreen display and a slim profile. It seemed like it could do anything and everything, but Destiny needed to learn how to use it. She wondered if it could lead her here.
Destiny held the phone in her hand, feeling a strange energy emanating. Suddenly, a beep startled her, and a message appeared on the screen: "I bestow upon this Arc phone and the mission to seek out all Pokemon." The statement left her bewildered as she inspected the phone, which appeared ordinary. She cautiously put it in her back pocket and continued down the path, her mind racing with questions.
As she walked, she scanned her surroundings, hoping to find answers. Eventually, she spotted the Professor standing in the middle of a vast field, muttering to himself. As she approached him, she could hear him talking about the runaway Pokemon he was trying to catch.
"Hello, Professor. Did you catch them?" she asked, relieved to have found him.
"I'm grateful you came to my aid, my friend, from the sky," he responded, smiling at her. "I wasn't able to catch them. I tried catching my little runaways by tossing some Pokeballs, but I'm not very good at it." The Professor's voice trailed off as he looked at her with a sad smile, hoping she could help him with his mission.
As if struck by a sudden inspiration, the man smiled at the woman and suggested, "Why don't you try catching them with a Pokeball?" However, he paused momentarily, taking in her slow nod of agreement. She wasn't sure if this was a good idea, considering she had just woken up and fallen out of the sky and already had difficulty walking. "Before you give it a go, let me tell you a little about these Pokemon," he said, his tone warm and informative. "That one over there is Rowlet. Its small, round body is covered in soft, downy feathers that resemble leaves, and it has a large, owl-like face with wide eyes. Rowlet can photosynthesize like a plant, using the sun's energy to create nourishment, and it battles its opponents using its sharp, needle-like feathers that it can shoot from its wings." The Professor pointed out the creature as it walked around the grassy field, and they could hear it let out a cheerful chirp, adding to the tranquil atmosphere.
The Professor gestured towards a fire Pokémon standing next to a bunch of rocks and said, "That one over there is Cyndaquil. If you look closely, you'll see flames burning on its back. These flames will flare up suddenly whenever it's surprised or irritated, so it's important to approach it with caution."
He then turned towards the pond and pointed out another Pokémon, "The one near the pond is Oshawott, the same one that was cuddling up to you earlier. It's a water Pokémon, and it loves to nap while floating on the water. But don't let its adorable appearance fool you – it can be a fierce warrior as well. See that shell-like object on its belly? It uses it to battle and defend itself from foes." The Oshawott jumped and splashed around in the water as he spoke, chirping happily.
The Professor turned to Destiny and spoke with a sense of urgency. "Oh, and I almost forgot to cover the most critical thing - the art of catching a Pokemon. You see, my dear, this is a crucial aspect of your journey. Here, let me give you something that will prove invaluable. These are Pokeballs - specially designed orbs that can capture and contain Pokemon. Simply throw the Pokeball at a wild Pokemon, and it will attach itself to the creature. You will then be able to keep the Pokemon with you and train it to become stronger."
He handed her a small bag containing 50 Pokeballs. Even though they were small, Destiny was surprised by their weight. She initially struggled to hold them all, but she fit them into a little bag around her waist.
"I do apologize for my earlier lack of explanation. Let me be more thorough now. As I mentioned earlier, Pokemon are strange and marvelous creatures. Each one has its own unique abilities, strengths, and weaknesses. It is your job as a trainer to learn as much as you can about each Pokemon you encounter and to use your knowledge to become the best trainer you can be."
Destiny looked at the Pokemon playing around in the room and couldn't help but smile. She found them to be cute and fascinating creatures. She turned to the man beside her and asked, "What's so strange about them?"
"Well," the man began, "every Pokemon has the ability to shrink itself down to a minuscule size. It's quite fascinating, really. And that's where the Pokeballs come in. They are a recent invention that allows you to catch a Pokemon by throwing a Pokeball at them. The Pokemon will then shrink down to a size that comfortably fits inside the Pokeball. It's like having a portable pet!"
Destiny's eyes widened in amazement. She had never heard of anything like this before.
The man chuckled. "I'm glad you think so. And speaking of catching Pokemon, I know we just met, and I'm sorry for asking this of you so soon after you fell from the sky. But I would be incredibly grateful if you could help me catch my three Runaways," he said with a goofy smile, gesturing towards the three Pokemon that had wandered away from him.
Destiny's soothing voice put the man at ease as he reassured him that there was no problem. He then went on to explain the proper technique for catching a Pokemon. "First, you must take aim at the Pokemon, making sure to take into account its speed and trajectory. Then, with a swift motion, let the ball fly towards it, being careful not to throw too hard or too soft. It's quite simple, really, though I must admit that I'm not exactly an expert in this area," he said with a slight pout, his tone indicating that he was a bit embarrassed by his lack of skill.
Destiny took a deep breath and said, "All right, I'll try my best." Despite feeling unsteady, she summoned all her courage and approached the rocky area where Cyndaquil was frolicking. As she approached, she could see the little fire Pokemon running around, jumping from one rock to another and making happy noises.
She crouched down, steadied herself, and took aim. Cyndaquil was so engrossed in its play that it still hadn't noticed her presence. With a quick flick of her wrist, Destiny threw the Pokeball, and it flew through the air straight toward Cyndaquil.
The little Pokemon suddenly looked up, startled, as the Pokeball hit it and sucked it inside. It let out a cry of surprise as it was absorbed into the red and white orb. The Pokeball shook back and forth several times, as if in protest before finally clicking shut with a satisfying snap.
"Wow, that's amazing! You have just caught a Pokemon!" exclaimed the Professor, impressed with Destiny's skills. "It appears you have a natural talent for catching these creatures. This is an incredibly useful skill to have in this area. I only have two more of my beloved runaways to find now. However, I find it quite unusual that you don't seem to have any fear of Pokemon at all," he added thoughtfully, reflecting on Destiny's calm and confident demeanor.
With a nod, Destiny made her way towards the edge of the rocks where a small Rowlett was playing by the trees, peeking out from behind the bushes. The little bird Pokemon yawned and closed its eyes, nodding off to sleep. Destiny seized the opportunity without hesitation and threw her Pokeball at Rowlett, hoping to catch it and add it to her growing collection of Pokemon companions.
"Wow, Destiny! I can hardly believe it. Incredible!" The Professor exclaimed, his eyes widening with amazement. He looked at Destiny with admiration and pride. "You know, many people are afraid of even approaching Pokemon, let alone catching them. But you've managed to capture two Pokemon already. Bravo indeed!" he said while giving her a warm smile. "Now, we just have one more to catch. Let's wrap this up quickly, shall we?" he added, looking at the pond anxiously.
Destiny hurried towards the pond, her heart beating faster with excitement. As she got closer, she saw an Oshawott playing in the water. The sun was shining brightly, and the water was sparkling like diamonds. She couldn't help but smile as she watched the Oshawott splashing around, its little paws making ripples in the water.
However, the Oshawott spotted her before she could move and started running towards her. It was surprisingly fast, and Destiny gasped as it reached her feet and hugged her, its little body still wet from the water. She couldn't help but laugh at its playful antics and then looked back at the Professor, watching her with a smile.
Destiny pulled out a Pokeball and aimed it at a nearby Oshawott. She pressed the button on the Pokeball, and it shot towards the Oshawott. However, the Oshawott didn't go inside the Pokeball immediately. It jumped back out and hugged Destiny's legs with a happy expression.
The Professor, watching from a distance, walked over to Destiny. "Oh yes, I'm afraid that can happen... Pokeballs are hardly 100% foolproof. Give it another go, old girl," he said reassuringly.
Destiny looked down at the Pokemon for a second, then tapped it on the head with the Pokeball. This time, the Oshawott went inside the Pokeball, shaking a few times before finally stopping.
"I caught it," Destiny said with a smile. She looked at the Pokeball in her hand and walked over to the Professor, who was waiting for her. He took the Pokeballs from her and congratulated her on her first catch.
The Professor expressed gratitude towards Destiny as he took the Pokeballs from her hands. "Thank you so very much indeed! Oh, what a relief to have them all back," he exclaimed. He explained to her that the three elusive Pokemon had been causing trouble in the Village for some time. "You see, these three Pokemon could have only just arrived at the village to help with our research, but they won't listen to anyone," the Professor spoke sheepishly. "And I mentioned they bolt from the village almost as if they knew you'd come flying."
Destiny was puzzled by the Professor's words. She found the Pokemon's behavior quite strange. "That is quite odd," she mumbled, trying to make sense of the situation. But before she could say anything else, the Professor interrupted her.
"Destiny, your use of the Pokeballs was truly impressive," said the Professor, his eyes gleaming with admiration. "You caught those Pokemon with such ease, despite having just arrived here and not even knowing what Pokemon were. It's quite remarkable, and it makes me wonder if there's a particular reason why you're here now."
Destiny raced as she remembered the phone she had found on the ground. "This might be it," she muttered, pulling the device out of her back pocket and showing it to the Professor. "I found this on my way over to you. It looks like an Arc phone; that's what it said when I picked it up."
The Professor's eyes widened as he quickly read the message on the screen of the mysterious device Destiny was holding. Confused, He muttered to himself, "Seek out all Pokemon'? And thisProfessor an 'arc phone'?" He leaned in to take a closer look. "What kind of device is this? Is it somehow guiding you?" he asked Destiny, his curiosity piqued.
Destiny appeared lost in thought as she absentmindedly slipped the device back into her pocket. "I'm not entirely sure," she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "It's unlike anything I've ever seen before... or at least, I think it is."
The Professor's eyes sparkled as he spoke, "If you'll indulge me for just a moment, I'd like to share something truly exciting with you. You see, I have a dream, a grand vision of compiling the region's first-ever complete record of its Pokemon, a catalog that we call a Pokedex. This magnificent work of research would contain detailed records of every single Pokemon found in this region."
He paused for a moment, a wistful expression on his face. "But in order to achieve this, I must catch each and every one of them, and that, my friend, is where the challenge lies."
Destiny listened intently, her curiosity piqued by the Professor's words. "Pokeballs have only just been invented, and not many people have mastered the art of using them. That's where you come in, my dear. You possess a natural talent for catching Pokemon, a skill that will be invaluable in helping me achieve my goal."
The Professor looked at him with a realization on his face. "Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to seek out every Pokemon in this region and catch them all. With teamwork, we can make this dream a reality. What do you say?"
The Professor sighed, making Destiny, excited and curious about the new development, feel the same. "Come now, what do you say? Shall we help each other out, my girl?" the Professor said happily, giving her a kind smile. For some reason, the smile looked very familiar to Destiny, but she couldn't quite place it or associate it with a particular person. However, the warmth and welcome it exuded made her feel comfortable.
She looked at the Professor with warmth and kindness in her eyes. "Of course, I will help," she said after a moment, her voice soft and gentle. She held her hand up to her chest, signaling her determination to assist in any way possible.
The Professor's face lit up with a welcoming smile. "Then whoever and from wherever you may be, I welcome you with open arms and a Pokedex to complete," he said, extending his hand to shake hers.
As they shook hands, the Professor continued, "First things first, though. Let's get these Pokemon back to the Village. After that, we'll sort out your logins, find you some proper clothes, and a meal and all that." His smile grew wider as he turned towards the path that led to the Village.
Destiny couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and curiosity bubbling inside her. The two set out on the old path, with the Professor leading towards Jubilife Village. As they walked, Destiny gazed up at the sky and marveled at seeing a black hole-like Rift with a white center circling a mountaintop in the distance. Despite the awe-inspiring view, she refrained from saying anything and continued to stare, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the scene. After a while, they reached a massive wooden wall with a vast entrance guarded by two individuals dressed in red uniforms.
