Chapter 289: Qing Yi Wakes up

"Huh? Where am I…?"

Looking around herself in confusion, Qing Yi found herself laying in a bed inside of what she could only assume was an inn.

But how had she ended up here in the first place…? Had Chu Yang perhaps carried her here!?

Upon reaching this thought, a small blush appeared on her face as Qing Yi soon buried her head in the soft quilt that covered her.

It was only after relaxing and trying to remember what exactly had led to her current situation that she managed to calm down.

She had killed someone… Not a demon beast, but another human!

"Hah…"

Shivering a bit when she thought about it, Qing Yi took a deep breath of fresh air and soon relaxed her body as she remembered what Chu Yang had told her before she fell asleep… She should not feel bad about it. After all, who knew how many bad things the bandit had done before!

Other than that, she was a cultivator! Fighting and killing others would inevitably happen, whether she liked it or not, she had to have the ability to protect herself properly and not leave any future trouble for herself…

Compared to the bandit staying alive and most likely forgetting about the event a few months down the line, a normal cultivator would most likely remember being beaten up and plot his or her revenge sometime in the future…

At least she remembered how her master had told her and Chu Yang about that and instilled his belief in them of not leaving any future trouble behind when dealing with one's enemies.

Being merciful to one's enemies is most of the time just leaving around problems for one to deal with in the future…

So, there was nothing wrong with killing the bandit leader!

Creak~ Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

As Qing Yi was slowly coming to terms with the fact that she had killed another human and would most likely end up killing more in the future, the door to the room opened before quickly being shut close again.

"Ah! You are awake!"

The voice of Chu Yang soon echoed out from the entrance of the room, as Qing Yi turned around and looked over at her junior brother. Not knowing how to react as she kept remembering how he had carried her earlier and even put her to sleep!

How truly humiliating!

"Hm? Are you perhaps still feeling bad about what happened earlier? Don't worry so much about it, just think about the bandit leader like a demon beast that tried to attack you!"

Misunderstanding Qing Yi's silence, Chu Yang walked over beside her and quickly reassured her by patting the top of her head like he was comforting a child. Not knowing how embarrassing his actions were to Qing Yi.

Wha- What in the world is this?! Does he think I'm a child or something!?

Hurriedly slapping his hand away from the top of her head as she jumped out of the bed before staring maliciously at Chu Yang, Qing Yi held back her urge to send him flying.

"Never do that again! And where are we currently!?"

"We are currently inside a small town located close to the border where we fought with the bandits, I have already contacted someone from the River Sect and informed them about our arrival… They should send someone over to act as our guide soon."

Answering Qing Yi's question without saying anything regarding what he had done earlier, Chu Yang walked over to the door under the cautious eyes of Qing Yi before opening it.

"Do you want something to eat before we move out?"

Saying this after opening the door leading out into a small hallway of the in, Chu Yang observed Qing Yi closely as she nodded her head eagerly at the mention of food.

"Great, we will eat first and then meet up with the person sent by the River Sect before making our way towards the Red Flower Ridge and dealing with those bandits…"

Like this, Qing Yi and Chu Yang both made their way down in the dining area of the inn to get something to eat. During the course of the meal, Qing Yi returned to her former self as she had come to terms with what had happened earlier on, though she still remained vary of Chu Yang when he got too close to her for some unknown reason…

As Xuan Hao began focusing on learning how to teach his disciple properly and his two disciples were getting closer to reaching their destination inside the territory of the River Sect, a lone man sitting on top of a throne inside the Azure Sky Kingdom slowly opened his eyes.

"Looks like I will have to move myself…"

The emotionless voice of the man on top of the throne slowly echoed out inside the empty throne room as he looked over in the direction of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

He had just been informed that the fellow he sent over to inform the army that they should attack the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, had run away…

Even more importantly, the Spring Flower Sect apparently had someone in the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm and was even beginning the process of merging together with another sect from the Heavenly Sky Kingdom called the Flying Sword Sect!

"How truly interesting! I never expected for the Heavenly Sky Kingdom to have someone like that! Well… As long as that person does not get in my way, its fine…"

Muttering this to himself as he thought about the other part of the report stating that the Spring Flower Sect and the Flying Sword Sect would not interfere in the war and help the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, the man on the throne could not help but secretly laugh to himself.

If the Heavenly Sky Kingdom had a Half-Step Domain Lord supporting them, he would have needed to rethink and few of his plans… But this was no longer needed if the Half-Step Domain Lord from the Spring Flower Sect was in the process of breaking free from the control of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom!

To be honest, the man even began thinking about how he could use the Spring Flower Sect to help him deal with the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, but quickly shook his head and threw the thought away.

Risking a potential fallout with the Half-Step Domain Lord would not be a good idea… And she might even be able to sense 'that'!

Thinking about this, the man on top of the throne narrowed his eyes as they slowly turned crimson as an unbearable killing intent slowly began to fill the entire throne room.

Whoosh!

"My lord! The minister is heading for the Ascendant Frost Hall, just as we expected!"

Just as the killing intent filling the room was about to reach a new height, a shadow in the shape of a man appeared beside the man on top of the throne as he informed him.

"Hm? That was earlier than I expected, thought he would first return to that place and… No matter, you may leave! Continue keeping an eye on him, he might be on to something!"

Raising on of his eyebrows in a slightly surprised expression upon hearing what the person that had appeared beside him said, the man on top of the throne quickly calmed down as the killing intent filling the throne room disappeared and his eyes returned to normal.

"Yes, my lord!"

Bowing his head upon hearing the order from the man on top of the throne, the shadow in the shape of a man slowly merged into the surroundings before disappearing from the throne room. Leaving behind only the man on top of the throne as he pondered about something for a short moment before standing up.

"Looks like it's time to end the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and get that thing before those people from the Ascendant Frost Hall realizes that something is wrong…"

Saying this as he walked towards the entrance to his throne room, the man soon opened the large door leading outside with a thought.

"Your majesty!"

"Y-your highness!"

"Lord!"

"Hah… I hope that old ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom won't disappoint me too much…"

Muttering this to himself as he ignored the all the titles that the surrounding soldiers and other staff currently in front of his throne room uttered with shock written all over their faces, the man directly disappeared in front of them as he made his way in the direction of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom!

"Where is his majesty going!?"

"Perhaps he is going to help the army dealing with the Heavenly Sky Kingdom? I heard that their old ancestor has been quite troublesome for the general to deal with…"

"That is true…"

"I think he wants to quickly deal with it before those people gains too much power inside the kingdom…" As the soldiers and staff were chatting with each other about what their king was up to, a young maid could not help but join in with her own ideas.

"What do you mean?"

Many of the people were confused after hearing what the young maid said as one of the soldiers stepped forward and asked for all of them.

"Hm? You don't know? After the plague appeared, a group of priests claiming to be from the church of the plague god appeared and…"

Chapter 290: Guide From the River Sect

Leaving the inn after having gotten something to eat, Qing Yi realized that it was early in the morning. From the looks of it, it seemed like she had ended sleeping through the rest of the day and night after the incident with the bandit group.

"Where are we meeting the person from the River Sect?"

Turning to Chu Yang coming out of the inn just behind her, Qing Yi asked curiously. Feeling a bit excited at the prospect of meeting a disciple from a sect that was not the Flying Sword Sect for the first time… Well, outside her encounter with a few she had seen passing through the Bright Sun City.

But back then, she had been focused on cultivation and never really had the chance to interact with any of the disciples from different sects passing through the city…

"We agreed to meet at the entrance in around an hour, so we still have some time to look around the town here if you want to."

"No need, I really want to meet the person from the River Sect!"

Shaking her head when she heard Chu Yang's suggestion to looking around the small town they were currently inside of, Qing Yi felt way more curious towards the person from the River Sect.

She really wanted to find out more about the River Sect and maybe even sell-

"Ahm!"

"Ah… C-Chu Yang, we should get going! You should know the way to the meeting place."

Blushing slightly when she realized that she may have said the last part out loud, Qing Yi quickly brushed the embarrassment aside and told? Chu Yang to lead them towards the meeting place outside the city.

"As you say…"

Rolling his eyes at her blatant attempt to conceal what she had said earlier, Chu Yang decided to just ignore it and did as she told him. Leading the way out of the small town, towards the location that he had planned to meet up with the person sent over by the River Sect to act as a guide for them.

Not that he really felt like they needed one to reach the Red Flower Ridge, but having a guide would still be better than not having one and they might even be able to find out the reason why the River Sect was so reluctant when it came to dealing with a few bandits at the Foundation Establishment Realm by themselves…

"Are you sure they were people sent over by the Flying Sword Sect?"

"Yeah, I confirmed it from the token of the male disciple."

Located just outside the town that Qing Yi and Chu Yang were currently inside, a group of five people had gathered together as they talked among each other.

"We can finally get rid of those annoying bandits! With the disciples from the Flying Sword Sect being the ones to take care of them, there is no way that it will affect us! And with the recent rumours spreading around about them having a Domain Lord, there is no way they would be affected by this either.

Not that the person supporting that damnable scum among those bandits would be able to do anything to the Flying Sword Sect even if the rumour is false, they still have quite a few Nascent Soul Realm Experts and with the recent destruction of the Burning Flame Sect under the Flying Sword Sect and Spring Flower Sect. Nobody would dare to offend them in the entire Heavenly Sky Kingdom!"

Saying this, an older person in the group of five said confidently as his bright blue robe billowed in the wind. The symbol of a wave could be seen at the centre of the older person's robe, as the other four people present were dressed in the same kind of robe, though with a few variations making them unique from each other.

As three of the people were discussing among each other, the remaining two people stood a bit to the side as one of them, a woman in her early thirties grabbed the last person's hand and pulled him to the side

"Huang… Are you sure that you want to guide the disciple from the Flying Sword Sect? It might be risky when you reach the Red Flower Ridge… Other than that, we have no clue about their personalities! Even if the Flying Sword Sect has a great reputation, one would never know how much of it is true!"

The woman in her early thirties finished talking in a somewhat quiet tone as her concern for the person she had pulled to the side was on display for all to see.

"Mother, you don't have to worry so much about me… This will also be a good opportunity for our River Sect to establish a connection with the Flying Sword Sect! Even if you don't want to admit it, this will be a good opportunity for us!"

Sighing quietly to himself as he said this, the person from the River Sect called Huang shook off his mother's hand.

"But-"

"No but, we will never be able to get a Nascent Soul Realm Expert if we keep isolating ourselves like this! We have to look outwards if we want to grow in the future and finally give birth to a Nascent Soul Realm Expert inside the sect!"

Knowing his mother well, Huang stopped her before she could come up with an excuse for him to stay back in the sect together with her.

The River Sect had been isolated from the rest of the Northern Region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom for as long as Huang could remember and for someone who wanted to go out and explore the world, this was nothing short of torture!

He admired the Flying Sword Sect, as he had always heard about it from his parents and how they were the sole overlords of the entire Northern Region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

But this was not the main reason why he admired the Flying Sword Sect… No, it was the fact that they allowed for their disciples to go out and adventure after reaching the Foundation Establishment Realm!

He managed to hear this from a travelling cultivator that visited the River Sect in the past and since then, he who had always dreamt about going out and exploring the world decided to wait until reaching the Foundation Establishment Realm before brining it up with his parents… Who ruthlessly rejected him.

It was a few days after being rejected that he heard his parents talking about finding a guide for two disciples of the Flying Sword Sect that had come to their territory in order to complete a rather special mission.

So, without further ado, Huang had volunteered himself for the task. Only manging to get his parents approval after a few hours of convincing…

"Hah… Fine! But you have to promise me that you will run away in case something dangerous happens!"

Thinking about what her son said with a struggling look on her face, the woman looking to be in her early thirties finally let out large sigh as she agreed with her son. Even now, she was regretting ever letting him come here in the first place…

"Thank you, mom-"

"The two disciples have already appeared and are heading over here! We should head back to the sect for now. Huang Yongyu, the rest will be up to you!"

Smiling happily as he hugged his mother, Huang and his mother were soon interrupted as the older person who had spoken up earlier called out as Huang watched his mother reluctantly leave together with the rest of the group. Leaving only Huang behind as he anxiously waited for the two disciples of the Flying Sword Sect to appear. Not knowing what to expect.

At the same time, Qing Yi and Chu Yang had made their way over towards the meeting spot just outside of the small town, with Chu Yang leading the way. This chapter was first shared on the Ñøvlß1n platform.

"By the way, where did the tiger demon beast go? I haven't seen it since I woke up earlier…"

Walking along the road leading out of the town, Qing Yi asked curiously as she had not manged to see the tiger demon beast that had taken them all the way to the River Sect's territory ever since she had fainted.

"It is waiting outside of the town in the nearby forest… Apparently the town does not want anyone entering together with demon beasts, tamed or not!"

Saying this, Chu Yang could not help but shake his head. Not daring to say that the real reason he did not take the tiger demon beast inside of the town, was because he feared that it might end up attacking some of the people inside.

After having seen it eat the corpses of the bandits yesterday, Chu Yang could simply not bring himself to trusting that it had been properly tamed!

"I see, what about-"

"Ah, we are here!"

Just as Qing Yi was about to ask about something different, Chu Yang spotted a lone figure dressed in a blue robe with a wave symbol at the centre of the chest a few dozen meters in front of them just beside the forest where a certain tiger demon beast was located.

Chapter 291: Hidden Danger behind the Bandit Group

Reacting first upon seeing the young man that stood waiting a few dozen meters away, Qing Yi dashed over towards the young man dressed in the blue robe belonging to the River Sect. Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

"Are you perhaps the disciple from the River Sect that was sent over to guide us? You are in the Foundation Establishment Realm!?"

Asking this as she sized up the young man, Qing Yi could not help but exclaim a bit surprised after discovering that he was actually in the Foundation Establishment like them.

It was normal for a sect like the River Sect to send over one their disciples to guide them, they were after all from the Flying Sword Sect who had control over the entire northern region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom…

But this did not mean that the person sent over as a guide would be strong by any means. Most of the time, it would? just be a disciple in the Qi Condensation Realm that was familiar with the territory.

That was why Qing Yi was surprised that it was someone in the Foundation Establishment showing up and he was only a little older than them! Even in the Flying Sword Sect, someone like that could be considered a genius… Let alone in the River Sect.

Why would the River Sect send over someone like that to guide them…?

"Yes, I'm the one sent over by the River Sect. My name is Huang Yongyu and I'm a Core Disciple of the River Sect."

Both Qing Yi and Chu Yan were curious about this, as the person in question did not seem to mind Qing Yi's reaction much as he introduced himself calmly.

"A Core Disciple? Why would the River Sect send over someone like that to act as a guide for us…?"

Thinking that the River Sect might have somehow found out that they were both personal disciples of Xuan Hao and were trying to establish some sort of connection with their master through them, Chu Yang put on a cautious expression on his face as he asked Huang Yongyu.

"Haha, you don't have to mind it too much. The reason for this is mostly because I wanted to get out of the sect myself, I also wanted to see the disciples from the Flying Sword Sect myself and maybe find out how the world outside our River Sect looks like… You should at least both have some idea about how isolated my sect is…"

Laughing with a smile on his face upon seeing the cautious expression on Chu Yang's face, Huang Yongyu quickly explained his reason for acting as a guide to the two of them.

"I see… That is understandable, I hope we will live up to your expectations… Even though the two of us haven't been much outside the sect either…" Still remaining a bit cautious towards Huang Yongyu, Chu Yang said this before turning towards Qing Yi who was still staring at Huang Yongyu with an excited look on her face.

"Do you have something to say, Qing Yi…?"

"Ah! I was just wondering if the River Sect has any alchemists or if they mostly get their pills and potions through trade with other sects…"

Letting out a surprised yelp after being found out, Qing Yi quickly asked the question she had wanted to ask ever since she first heard that they would be meeting up with someone from the River Sect.

"Hm, If it's about alchemist of our sect… We don't really have any, I think we mostly just buy them from some of the nearby sects when needed…"

Thinking about it for a short moment, Huang Yongyu answered Qing Yi's question without hesitation.

The fact that they got most of their pills and potions from the outside was not really a secret in the first place, Huang Yongyu was just a bit surprised that a disciple from the Flying Sword Sect would ask him about something like this.

"Great!"

Not saying anything else, Qing Yi quickly retreated from Huang Yongyu. Smiling happily as she seemed to be in deep thought about something.

"Just ignore her, we should get going and deal with those bandits at the Red Flower Ridge as quickly as possible. Wait here for a moment, I will just be getting our mount."

Rolling his eyes upon seeing Qing Yi, Chu Yang informed the confused Huang Yongyu as he soon entered the forest in search of the tiger demon beast. Leaving Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu alone together at the entrance to the forest.

"…"

Huang Yongyu did not know what to say in response, as he watched Chu Yang slowly disappear into the forest and Qing Yi sitting down with a small notebook in hand before staring to write something down. Completely ignoring him in the process.

The disciples from the Flying Sword Sect… Were different from how he had first imagined them…

Time slowly passed and Chu Yang soon came back with the tiger demon beast.

Like this, Qing Yi, Chu Yang and the new member of the group, Huang Yongyu. All mounted up on the tiger demon beast before setting off in the direction of the Red Flower Ridge.

The tiger demon beast barely holding on under the weight of three people who could barely fit on his back.

The journey towards the Red Flower Ridge was peaceful without much happening. Most of the time was spent with Chu Yang and Qing Yi asking Huang Yong Yu about the River Sect and Huang Yongyu asking about how things were outside of the River Sect, to which Chu Yang took the lead in talking about some of the things he had seen when on the run from the Black Rose Sect.

During their conversations, Chu Yang and Qing Yi also learned about the Pure Heart Lake for their second mission.

Apparently, the Pure Heart Lake was located close to the centre of the River Sect's territory where their sect was built.

"…Though I do have to remind you that even if the Pure Heart Lake is inside my River Sect's territory, we do not control it alone and there are many other sects that have their disciples enter and gather Pure Heart Spirit Grass! In return, we get a lot of potions, pills and other essential materials for our disciples and elders!"

The talk was currently on the Pure Heart Lake and the powers present in it and Huang Yongyu's explanation had helped both Qing Yi and Chu Yang understand the current situation better.

"…"

Chu Yang and Qing Yi both looked at each other quietly after hearing Huang Yongyu finish his explanation, he very clearly looked upset when mentioning the fact that the Pure Heart Lake was not completely under his own sect's control.

Well, that was understandable… After all, who would want some other sect having their disciples loiter around just outside the entrance of their sect? How would their elders ever be able to leave without worrying that one of the sects who had sent people over just outside the sect launching an attack?

From the looks of things, the River Sect might not be so willing to be in isolation as Chu Yang and Qing Yi had first though, but were most likely forced into their current situation due to a large group of people from other sects having their own people hanging out just outside their sect…

The other sects very clearly wanted to somehow deal with the River Sect but feared their overwhelming number of Core Formation Experts.

Instead, they resorted to other means.

Forcing their experts to stay at home while they cut them off from the outside world. Slowly killing them off by limiting the resources going into the River Sect…

"Thank you for your explanation, I will keep it in mind."

"No need, I'm acting as a guide, so it's the least I can do!"

Thanking Huang Yongyu for his explanation, Chu Yang seemed to form an understanding of the general situation inside the River Sect's territory…

It looked like the bandit group that had appeared at the Red Flower Ridge was connected to the sects that were currently setting up shop beside the Pure Heart Lake… Things were way more troublesome than expected…

The River Sect had even requested for the Flying Sword Sect to take care of the bandits so the sects hanging out outside their sect wouldn't be able to do anything to them, like claiming that the bandit group had kidnapped some of their disciples and the River Sect had ended up killing them and therefore wanting some sort of compensation in return…

"Hah…"

Chu Yang could not help but let out an exhausted sigh when he thought about this. At the very least, he had the Flying Sword Sect behind him, so there was no way those sects would dare do anything unreasonable to him and Qing Yi…

Even then, Chu Yang could not help but feel a bit uncertain the closer they got to the Red Flower Ridge.

The sects should at least have predicted that the River Sect would end up asking the Flying Sword Sect for help dealing with the bandits… So how come they still planted those bandits there anyway…?

Chapter 292: Veposs Flowers and Red Flower Ridge

"We are here… So, this is the Red Flower Ridge…"

After traveling through the peaceful territory of the River Sect under the guidance of Huang Yongyu, Qing Yi and Chu Yang managed to reach the base of the Red Flower Ridge at the dawn of the third day after they entered the River Sect's territory.

"Indeed, and I can now see why it's called the Red Flower Ridge…"

Nodding her head with a smile on her face, Qing Yi looked up at the Red Flower Ridge. Mainly focused on the sea of red flowers that spread as far as the eye could see, covering almost the entire base of the few dozen mountains that were called the Red Flower Ridge.

"What are these flowers? I don't think I have seen then anywhere before…"

Compared to Qing Yi who had absorbed a huge amount of knowledge regarding alchemy and spiritual herbs over the past few days, Chu Yang was still not knowledgeable in that regard. Even with the guidance book handed over to him back in the Mission Hall, Chu Yang had not spent much time reading through it. Only having gone through the parts about the Pure Heart Spirit Grass that they would have to gather after dealing with the bandit group hidden somewhere at the Red Flower Ridge.

"Veposs, they are relatively common flower growing around mountains where blood of some ancient species of demon beasts had hit in the past. Not much is known about them other than that… The reason why they are common, is that the ancient species of demon beasts had once been involved in some kind of long forgotten war that engulfed the entire Ewaria Continent. In turn, their blood has been spilt in a lot of different places. Most commonly around the Burning Mountain Range…"

"Then aren't they really precious!? After all, they grew due to some ancient demon beast's blood!"

Answering before their guide Huang Yongyu, Qing Yi explained the full history of the small red flower called Veposs. Much to the Huang Yongyu's surprise, as he had not expected for Qing Yi to know so much about them.

"While the Veposs flower did indeed grow due to the blood of the ancient demon beast, it is not worth much and is not even comparable to a Mortal Rank Spirit Herb… Other than that, there is no use for it in alchemy…

So, while it is indeed a pretty flower, it's not worth much more than a random wildflower picked up beside the road…" Shaking her head a bit when she said this, Qing Yi instantly put a stop to Chu Yang's excitement.

"Ah… I guess they wouldn't just be growing freely around here if they really were worth something… What a pity…"

Letting go of a few of the Veposs flowers that he had just picked up, Chu Yang could not help but feel a bit disappointed when looking over the pretty sea of red flowers that stretched as far as the eye could see.

"The Veposs flower grow where the blood of the ancient demon beast spilled… Now that is a lot of blood…" Chu Yang could not help but sigh in amazement when he truly realized just how large the ancient demon beast must have been to create such a large sea of flowers.

"Indeed…"

Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu also looked over the sea of red flowers. Imagining just how powerful such a large ancient demon beast might have been.

Whoosh~

With a calm wind passing by them, Chu Yang turned to the two others.

"Enough relaxing, we should get going. Don't forget that we still have to find the bandits and deal with them! By the way, Huang Yongyu, will you be going with us or are you going to return to your sect?" If it was before he knew that the guide sent by the River Sect was in the Foundation Establishment Realm, Chu Yang would not have asked this and just left them behind as they would make their way up the Red Flower Ridge in search of the bandits.

"I will go! The reason why I came here as a guide in the first place was to explore more of the world! Even as a Core Disciple, I have never gotten the time to explore the Red Flower Ridge before, as it is located at the edge of our territory… Other than that, the bandits should also be our River Sect's responsibility in the first place!"

Saying this with a determined look on his face, Chu Yang nodded his head in agreement. Even if he did worry a bit about it, as he didn't really know if Huang Yongyu had any experience when it came to killing.

Anyway, having one more person in the Foundation Establishment Realm would be a great help when it came to dealing with the bandits below the Foundation Establishment Realm.

Worst case scenario, Huang Yongyu could just knock out the Qi Condensation Realm cultivators and allow him to deal with them when everything was over…

"Then let's get going!"

With those words from Chu Yang, the group of three headed up the Red Flower Ridge. The tiger demon beast following closely behind them as they made their way up on foot. Prepared to fight in case they were ambushed along the way.

"Hm… Looks like the River Sect really did request for the Flying Sword Sect to deal with the bandits…"

"Good that we prepared beforehand! Haha, I would really love to see their faces when they find out!"

Located in a small secret room, a small group of people were happily talking together as they went over the newest information brought over by their spy network.

The group of people were all from the sects that had worked tirelessly over the past years to isolate the River Sect from the outside world and slowly weaken them without having to do any fighting.

After all, even if the River Sect did not have any Nascent Soul Realm Expert, they still had a terrifying amount of Core Formation Experts compared to any normal sect at their level.

Even with all the surrounding sects gathering together in an attempt to deal with them once and for all, they had only barely managed to gather together more Core Formation Experts than the River Sect! L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

This was also one of the reasons why they chose to slowly weaken the River Sect instead of attacking them head on…

Another reason was that the Flying Sword Sect might step in when they began fighting and that was not something any of the sects wanted to happen!

Given the current chaos in the Northern Region of the Heavenly Sky Empire, the Flying Sword Sect stepping in would mean that they would use their power to forcefully calm the situation down as quickly as possible to prevent any further chaos spreading…

And that in turn would most likely help the River Sect out of their forced isolation that the surrounding sects had worked so hard to cause in the first place… And they did not want to see their years of hard work suddenly go down the drain like that…

Chapter 293: Attack the Bandits!

This chapter was first shared on the Ñøvlß1n platform.

The Red Flower Ridge was hard to scale, in the end, Chu Yang had to let the tiger demon beast return back to the Veposs flowers to wait for them after only climbing up a short distance.

The way up the Red Flower Ridge, was only made more difficult with the fact that there was no set path or any other sort of walkway in the first place.

"Do you perhaps have any idea where the bandit group might be hiding...?"

Understanding that they would use a lot of time searching around the Red Flower Ridge without any clues to work off, Chu Yan turned to look back at Huang Yongyu climbing up behind him. Hoping that he would at least have some sort of idea about the general location of the bandit group.

"Ah… I thought you guys would know where they were located, I only know they should be somewhere at the Red Flower Ridge…"

"…"

Both Chu Yang and Qing Yi could not help but feel a bit awkward upon hearing what Huang Yongyu said.

Maybe they should have asked around the villages that had been raided by the bandits over the past few months before rushing over to the Red Flower Ridge without any clue about where they might be hiding…

"Looks like we will just have to search for them…"

Feeling that their first mission suddenly became much more difficult, Qing Yi could not help but sigh to herself in her mind as she said this.

Chu Yang and Huang Yongyu was of the same opinion as all three of them slowly began the process of searching for any clues about the whereabouts of the bandits on the Red Flower Ridge.

Not that it would be easy. After all, the Red Flower Ridge was compromised of several large mountains and searching just one of them would take at least a day or two for the group of three…

Crash!

"How come those disciples from the Flying Sword Sect have not found us yet?! They already arrived over a week ago and we even left so many clues about where our base is located when we raided those villages located just beside the Red Flower Ridge! Did they perhaps find out about our plan…?"

Inside a large mountain cave, a young man in his late twenties angrily threw a cup towards the cave wall as he exclaimed loudly, causing the surrounding bandits to shiver in fear.

"It looks like we will have to contact the elders about this and have them change the plan… From the looks of it, we won't be able to go with the original plan and we will have to find a way to quickly get those two disciples to leave… Hah…"

Calming down as he muttered this to himself, the young man soon turned towards the shivering group of bandits that had gathered around him and let out an exhausted sigh.

Things had suddenly gotten more complicated… Why did the two disciples from the Flying Sword Sect not act like they had planned!?

The young man had no idea what to do about it and could only act in response to the weird behaviour of the Flying Sword Sect's disciple and try to adapt to the situation.

"Prepare to move out, we are going to leave for now and find out how to get things back on track again!"

Thinking over his options, the young man decided to leave the mountain cave for now and return to the elders and come up with a new plan.

Staying around could potentially be dangerous if the disciples from the Flying Sword Sect had already sensed that something was wrong about their mission.

"Looks like we won't be able to capture those two…"

Glancing towards the exit of the mountain cave as he watched the bandits pack up and prepare to leave, the young man soon headed deeper into the cave to get his own things before leaving to meet up with his elders and set up a new plan.

At the same time, on top of the Red Flower Ridge. Not far away from the place of the bandits and the young man, Qing Yi, Chu Yang and Huang Yongyu were sitting around eating the last of the food that they had brought with them up the Red Flower Ridge.

"Look! I think the bandits are over there!"

Chu Yang was the first to spot a group of people in rugged clothes with slightly tanned bodies and large muscles visible from a few holes in their clothes walking out from a large rocky area with several dozen mountain caves dotted around.

"Indeed… It looks like it's the bandits…"

"Why have they suddenly come out? Are they perhaps preparing to raid another village?"

Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu, who both had their backs to the location that the bandit group appeared, reacted immediately upon hearing what Chu Yang said and turned around to look at the place behind them.

Closely inspecting the group of bandits moving out from the largest of the mountain caves, Chu Yang soon spotted the large number of crates and other precious materials that they were carrying out with them before descending down the Red Flower Ridge.

"From the looks of it, they are not going out to raid, but are moving!"

This conclusion left all three of them slightly panicked as they knew that they would have to act fast before the bandit group disappeared and relocated somewhere different.

At that point, they would have to waste even more time looking after them!

They had already spent close to a week searching through the Red Flower Ridge looking for them! They did not want to spend another week looking for their new hideout!

"Should we just attack them now…? They are unprepared and won't expect to be attacked at this moment. Most of them are not even carrying weapons and are instead carrying crates down the Red Flower Ridge…"

As both Qing Yi and Chu Yang were thinking about what to do about the bandits, Huang Yongyu came forth and suggested.

"Indeed… We should just attack them, like this we won't have to worry about finding them later! What do you say Qing Yi?"

Nodding his head in approval, Chu Yang turned over towards Qing Yi and waited for her opinion.

"Yeah… Better just deal with them faster rather than later, this way they won't be able to cause any more harm to the villages below!"

"Great, then let's finish up eating before attacking them!"

With all three of them approving to attack the bandits, Chu Yang took the lead and ate the last remaining part of his meal before taking out his spear. Ready for battle!

Chapter 294: Bandit Leader vs Chu Yang!

Standing behind a rock only a few dozen meters away from the bandits, the group of three all readied their weapons.

"Me and Qing Yi will take care of the three Foundation Establishment Realm bandits, Huang Yongyu will be the one to take care of the Qi Condensation Realm bandits… Is that fine with you two?"

""Yes!""

Seeing both Qing Yi and Huang Yongyu agree to the plan, Chu Yang nodded approvingly before signalling for them to move out.

Whoosh~

Like that, they rushed over towards the bandits.

"Wha-"

Ptch!

Huang Yongyu instantly killing the one closest to them without any hesitation before moving on to the next, while Chu Yang and Qing Yi moved towards the mountain cave where the three Foundation Establishment bandits were located.

Huang Yongyu being left behind as he easily took care of the Qi Condensation Realm bandits without any problem. Even Chu Yang felt a bit impressed when he saw how easily he killed off the bandits with his sword dancing through the air as he easily cut down bandit after bandit.

Fwoosh!

"That should be the Foundation Establishment Realm bandits…"

The moment Qing Yi and Chu Yang entered the mountain cave, three distinct auras flared up.

Two of them were similar to Huang Yongyu, being at the first stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, while the last one was way more powerful. Having reached close to the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm!

"The bandit leader is way stronger than expected! Qing Yi, deal with the two bandits at the first stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm, I will deal with the leader!"

"Okay!"

Understanding that the situation had gotten more dangerous with the bandit leader being at the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm, she quickly agreed to what Chu Yang said as she dashed over in the direction of the two Foundation Establishment Realm bandits. Luckily, they were located in the same place of the cave.

Chu Yang did not hesitate for too long as he quickly made his way over in the direction of the Peak Foundation Establishment bandit.

The information being wrong was no small surprise to Qing Yi and Chu Yang, as most of the information about the strength of the opponents in the missions were gathered by the Servant Quarters.

The guide that they had been given back in the mission hall even claimed that if there was a mistake in the opponent's strength during a mission, the disciple could directly claim no small amount of compensation from the Mission Hall. Truly showing how much they trusted in the Servant Quarters ability to gather information!

Not that either of them had any idea how the Servant Quarters gathered information in the first place… At least the Mission Hall seemed to have put their complete faith in them…

"So, this is the bandit leader…"

Arriving at the end of the mountain cave, Chu Yang could not help but feel a bit shocked when he saw a handsome young man in his late twenties laying lazily down on a couch looking over in his direction.

Completely different from the burly and rough looking middle-aged man he had expected to be the bandit leader…

"I really didn't expect for you to appear when we were just about to leave… How lucky!"

Muttering something to himself as a smile slowly formed on his lips after seeing Chu Yang appear, the young man slowly stood up.

From the way he acted, his strong aura and cultivation, Chu Yang knew that the person in front of him would not be so easy to beat…

Looks like I can finally fight without holding back!

Even if he fought with Qing Yi a lot back in the sect, he was still stronger than her and would have to hold back whenever they fought each other. After all, they were merely practice fights. Not fights to the death!

Thinking this as he strengthened the grip on his spear, Chu Yang could not help but feel a wave of excitement when seeing the young man in front of him take out a slim sword fastened around his waist and prepare to attack.

Whoosh!

Clang!

"Hm? You are stronger than expected… This might take longer than I thought it would…"

Retreating back in surprise after a quick exchange, the young man could not help but look at Chu Yan in surprise.

Ching!

Ptch~

Barely reacting in time to block Chu Yang's attack, as he launched an attack the moment, he saw the young man not paying attention.

Catching him slightly off-guard as a line of blood appeared on his left chin, a minor wound caused by Chu Yang's spear.

"You-"

Clang!

About to say something, the young man once again blocked Chu Yang's spear as he quickly stopped talking.

The opponent in front of him very clearly would not give up any chance he had at attack and from the looks of it, he did not have the luxury of ignoring him… Even though he was 2 entire minor cultivation realms above him!

Like this, both Chu Yang and the young man with the identity of a bandit leader put their full attention in fighting as they fought back and forth through the mountain cave.

Rumble~

Causing no small amount of damage to their surroundings in the process, as the mountain cave began showing signs of collapsing down on them with each passing second. Not that the two cared. Completely focused on their opponent as the fighting grew more and more intense. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

"Mountain Breaker!"

Whoosh!

"Wha-?!"

BANG!

Chu Yang displayed the first move of the Soul Spear Divine Mantra, Mountain Breaker. Catching his opponent by surprise with his unique attack move and thus ending up directly smashing through the defensive qi barrier set up by the bandit leader before sending him flying into a nearby cave wall with his spear.

Thumb

"I should at least have broken a few bones-"

RUMBLE!

Muttering to himself as he looked over at the sorry figure of the young bandit leader fall down onto the cave floor, Chu Yang who was about to make his way over and finish off the bandit leader, was caught off-guard as the surrounding cave suddenly began collapsing down on him.

Whoosh!

Not thinking twice about staying behind, Chu Yang left behind the half-dead bandit leader.

Looking back just before he got out of sight, as a giant rock fell down from the cave ceiling and directly crushed his skull. Killing him on the spot.

Bang!

"…"

Freezing for a moment upon seeing the sight of the bandit leader dying, Chu Yang was soon awakened by a rock falling just beside him, as he quickly made his way out of the mountain cave. Not willing to end up like the bandit leader…

Chapter 295: Qing Yi's Change

A little earlier, when Chu Yang went to confront the bandit leader, Qing Yi quickly made her way over towards the location of the two first stage Foundation Establishment bandits.

Whoosh~

Making her way through a side tunnel in the mountain cave, Qing Yi soon found herself out in the open again.

Several small wooden buildings soon appeared in front of her, as Qing Yi quickly realized that she had made it through the mountain and reached the other side.

This should be the real base of the bandit group!

Coming to this conclusion as she quickly scanned over the surprised bandits about to carry a few crates through the tunnel she had just come out of, Qing Yi soon focused on two middle-aged men standing in the back. Looking over at her cautiously with their weapons drawn.

"You are one of the disciples from the Flying Sword Sect!? What are you-"

Exclaiming in surprise upon recognising who Qing Yi was, the bandit was soon interrupted by the fact that Qing Yi did not wait for him to finish as she attacked.

Fwoosh!

The attack of Qing Yi was different from how it had been in the past, as a large flame coated her sword before shooting out in the form of a large fire sword made of fire qi, that rushed over towards one of the two Foundation Establishment bandits.

After she trained with her new cultivation mantra and the fact that she had gotten more control over her Bright Sun Divine Physique. Completely transformed her combat style over the past few months.

However, Qing Yi had not come close to fully mastering her new fire related abilities, Qing Yi had still experienced a leap in strength.

"Argh!"

The Foundation Establishment bandit did his best to block the fire sword of Qing Yi, but had no way to stand up to it, as he was directly reduced to dust…

Whoosh!

The other Foundation Establishment Realm bandit, who just watched his fellow bandit friend being reduced to dust in an instant by a young girl, did not dare to stay around any longer. Turning around before escaping into the distance.

However, Qing Yi did not plan to let him run away, as she gathered her qi together and launched another sword made of fire in the direction of the escaping bandit.

Fwoosh!

"Wha-!?"

Only able to let out half a word, the escaping bandit did not even manage to react and put up a defensive barrier before joining his friend.

The difference in strength between them was simply too large, as the two first stage Foundation Establishment Realm bandits could not even block a single attack from Qing Yi, who was at the fifth stage of the Foundation Establishment Realm…

That was not counting the fact that she was stronger than normal fifth stage Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators, due to her Bright Sun Divine Physique and Heaven Rank cultivation mantra.

The Foundation Establishment Realm bandit could be considered quite unlucky to have met someone like Qing Yi as their opponent…

""…""

The remaining bandits standing around the base with crates and other things in hand, preparing to move out. Did not know what to do as they just saw their two leaders being reduced to dust within the span of no more than a few seconds.

Qing Yi also stood still like the bandits and looked over at what remained of the two bandit leaders. Not knowing what to say as a part of her felt bad for killing the bandits, but another part of her remember what Chu Yang had told her and quickly supressed her regret for killing the two bandits.

"Hah…"

Letting out a sigh as she turned to look at the shivering bandits, Qing Yi closed her eyes.

Someone had to deal with these bandits… If not, they will just bring even more suffering to the surrounding villages in the future!

Thinking about how these bandits were using their cultivation to take advantage of the normal mortals, Qing Yi could not help but feel something fundamental change inside of her as she no longer felt hesitant when thinking about killing the bandits around her.

"L-let's get away!"

"Y-yeah… She seems to be deep in thought or something…" Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

"True, this is our only chance!"

As Qing Yi was slowly changing her way of thinking. The surrounding bandits did not let go of such an opportunity, as they quietly conversed among each other, while slowly beginning to move away from Qing Yi.

Of course, all of this was heard by Qing Yi as she opened her eyes once again. No longer hesitant about how to deal with the remaining bandit!

Earlier when she had killed the two Foundation Establishment Realm bandits, she had not truly wanted to kill them, it was just that they were way weaker than she had expected.

Even when she had lowered the strength of her second attack, Qing Yi did not expect for the escaping bandit leader to not even put up any defensive barriers, as he joined the other bandit leader…

Fwoosh!

"Wha- Flames! Where did these flames come from!? Argh!"

"W-what is thi-"

"H-help m-"

Not hesitating about killing the bandits any longer, Qing Yi fully showed off her brilliant mastery of fire qi for the first time ever, as the slowly retreating bandits. Along with the wooden buildings, were directly swallowed up by a sea of fire.

The sea of fire continued to spread out with Qing Yi at the centre before reaching a little over a hundred meters away from her in all directions.

Rumble!

In a dazed state as she kept the sea of fire going, Qing Yi did not notice that the cave she came through collapsed behind her.

Fwoosh!

"Hah…"

After another few seconds passed, Qing Yi could finally not bear the qi consumption of keeping the sea of fire running, as she directly fell onto the ground and began breathing in heavily.

Looking around at the surrounding terrain, Qing Yi could not help but suck in a breath of cold air. The bandits, the small wooden houses and even a few trees, were all completely gone!

All that remained was the ground that had turned completely black under Qing Yi's fire…

Maybe… She had overdone it…

Smiling wryly at this thought, Qing Yi quickly sat up in a meditative position before trying to recover the qi that she had just spent.

Walking around in her current state was way too dangerous and she would have to recover before going back to where Chu Yang and Huang Yongyu were at. After all, she did not want to run into a bandit on her way back in her current state…

Chapter 296: System back in action!

Dealing with the last few escaping bandits, Huang Yongyu soon made his way back to the mountain cave that Chu Yang and Qing Yi had entered. Only to be met with the sight of a collapsed cave and an exhausted Chu Yang standing next to it.

"Where is Qing Yi?!"

Looking around and seeing that the other disciple from the Flying Sword Sect missing, Huang Yongyu started panicking as he very well knew that it would spell bad news for his River Sect if they came over to investigate…

After all, with everything said and done. Even if the surrounding sects were trying to kill of his River Sect, they had still used the disciples of the Flying Sword Sect to help themselves out from their schemes…!

"No need to worry so much, she is at the other side of the Red Flower Ridge… She was just exhausted after her fight, so she will be recovering before meeting up with us later!"

Seeing the anxious expression on Huang Yongyu's face, Chu Yang knew a bit about what must be going through his mind, as he reassured him.

Even if the River Sect had to some degree ended up using them in an attempt to circumvent the sects setting up just outside their gate, Chu Yang knew that they most likely had no choice…

After all, given their current circumstances, Chu Yang highly doubted that they would be able to send any of their own experts out to deal with the bandits without meeting an unfortunate accident along the way…

In a sense, the only reason why Huang Yongyu was safe at the current moment, was that he was together with him and Qing Yi…

"That's great…"

Letting out a sigh of relief after hearing that Qing Yi was safe, Huang Yongyu sat down a few meters away from Chu Yang and began recovering his qi. Even if he could easily deal with the Qi Condensation Realm bandits, it still drained his qi reserves to deal with so many of them without rest…

Time slowly passed and after recovering their qi and meeting up with Qing Yi, the group of three soon began heading towards the Pure Heart Lake where the Pure Heart Spirit Grass was located… And at the same time, the place where the sects against the River Sect were gathered together.

Not that it mattered to Qing Yi and Chu Yang, as there was no chance that they would dare to do anything to them. Fearful of what the Flying Sword Sect might do, they were after all well known for being overprotective of their disciples, be it Core Disciples or Outer Disciples…

A few days earlier when Chu Yang and Qing Yi had just made their way inside the territory of the River Sect, Xuan Hao spent almost an entire day together with Elder Song, as he learned about how to best go about teaching his disciples.

Elder Song himself, was more than happy to set aside some time to help out Xuan Hao and teach him how to train up his disciples, he was after all the one who had helped him finally breakthrough and reach the Nascent Soul Realm! Even if Xuan Hao asked him for more time, Elder Song would be willing to throw the work he had been doing onto some poor soul so as to make sure he would have enough time…

The poor soul in question being the Flying Sword Sect's newest Nascent Soul Realm Expert outside of Elder Song who had just broken through, Chi Hu…

After he had joined the Flying Sword Sect, Chi Hu had become good friends with Elder Song and in turn started working together with him to help manage the Flying Sword Sect.

Something Elder Song was more than happy about, as he started training him in how to properly manage the sect's resources.

In a sense, Chi Hu could almost be considered the successor of Elder Song, as he easily absorbed all the new information and happily took on the management work of the Flying Sword Sect.

Given that he had already spent a good part of his life adventuring about, Chi Hu very much liked the position that he had ended up in…

Xuan Hao also knew about this and felt happy for the old guy who was finally begging to fit in after joining the Flying Sword Sect.

To be honest, he had been a bit worried about him when he first joined, but his worry was for nothing, as Chi Hu got along well with Elder Song and the rest of the elders.

Though he had not yet interacted much with the disciples, but that could always wait.

The yearly entrance examination where a bunch of new disciples came to join the sect was a good opportunity for Chi Hu. At that point, he could even take in a disciple or two and become more well known by the disciples of the Flying Sword Sect…

"Hm… I will still have to train more to become a good teacher…"

Sitting down outside his pavilion with a cup of tea in front of him, Xuan Hao could not help but mutter this to himself as he watched the steam slowly drift up from his cup.

[Time limit: Complete before your disciples return from their sect missions!]

[Reward: Cultivation Increase of one Minor Realm]

And just like that, a new quest had appeared.

"What is this…?"

Looking over the new quest, Xuan Hao was a bit confused as it was the first of its kind. Asking him to learn more about different subjects that would be useful to teach his disciples about in the future.

However, the thing that caught his attention the most, was the fact that the reward would be an increase to his cultivation realm!

Back at the Nascent Soul Realm, Xuan Hao had still felt that it was relatively easy to improve his cultivation realm even without the systems help. However, after reaching the Domain Lord Realm, Xuan Hao felt like his progress had suddenly come to grinding halt, as his cultivation no longer improved as quickly as he wanted it to.

He would have to slowly comprehend the laws of nature and incorporate them into his domain and strengthen it… A truly slow process, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Yet at this point, the system finally showed up…

Xuan Hao somewhat had a feeling that it had been waiting for him to reach a point where cultivation would be slow, thus increasing his drive to complete the missions and train up his disciple…

Chapter 297: Learning about other Continents

Having been given a new mission, Xuan Hao decided to go and visit one of the sect's libraries and find a few books about the history of the Ewaria Continent.

Maybe he could even find some information about what existed beyond the Ewaria Continent if he got lucky…

Overall, the history of the world that he was currently in, was one of the things that he had not really focused much on learning and should be the easiest among the three objectives to complete. Given the fact that he had at most learned about the Flying Sword Sect, Heavenly Sky Kingdom and a tiny bit about the Sky Empire.

Even if most of the things he knew about the Sky Empire, was obtained from Shu Yao when she came and talked to him about the Sect Alliance that they were in the process of setting up…

Now that I think about it, when would we be joining the Sect Alliance in the future? How would we even go about it in the first place?

Remembering the Sect Alliance that Shu Yao had talked about, Xuan Hao could not help but ponder to himself as he thought about it.

But in the end decided not to worry too much over it, Shu Yao had after all mentioned that they would only join after their sects had merged together and there was still some time before that happened…

"Elder Xuan, are you perhaps here to visit the library?" L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Lost in thought about the Sect Alliance, Xuan Hao soon found himself in front of the library of the Flying Sword Sect that stored different records about historical events and different books that talked about the past of the Ewaria Continent from the perspective of the different powers that existed back then.

"Yes, I think I will be coming here more often to research a few things about the past."

Looking over at the elder standing at the entrance to the library, Xuan Hao answered with a smile on his face as the elder nodded understandingly. After all, it was a given that someone would want to learn more about the past and what kind of epic battles had happened back then.

Xuan Hao did not stay around at the entrance for too long before entering the library. Picking up a few books to read as he sat down beside a small table at the first floor of the library. Excited to progress his new mission and at the same time learn more about the world he was currently living in.

Different from information gained from other places, the historical records and books depicting the past, would always be over the top. Allowing for one's imagination to run wild as near apocalyptic abilities was described in the books.

From someone having the ability to cut an entire continent in half with a single swing of his sword, to someone materializing a giant floating island with nothing more than a single wave of their hand.

Even from Xuan Hao's perspective, all of this sounded like pure fantasy. Especially given the fact that most of the stories like that dated back tens of thousands of years, if not more…

The only stories stood out to Xuan Hao compared to the others, was the history of how the Ewaria Continent came to be.

The stories told about an ancient war that happened over one hundred thousand years ago, that caused what was known as the main continent back then, to split into four smaller continents.

Amongst these four new and smaller continents, was the Ewaria Continent that he was currently on and three other continents.

The three other continents were not named in the book, but from the descriptions of them, Xuan Hao managed to at least get some idea about the people that had inhabited the areas that would split up in the future into their own continents.

One of? the continents, was the place where the churches had their main headquarters in the past. Many of the churches of the Ewaria Continent, could even trace their origin back to the churches on that continent.

The second continent was a place that had mostly covered in large forests and tall mountains stretching far into the sky.

Ancient demon beasts had roamed freely through the forests and mountains, as humans were close to non-existent. The books he read, had even mentioned that some ancient powerful demon beasts would be able to take on a human form!

The last among them was by far the largest of the four continents, it was also the place where the powerful Sects, Empires and Demonic Sects from back then was located.

Xuan Hao felt that he gained a deeper understanding of the world after reading about the other three continents beyond the borders of the Ewaria Continent.

But…

"Why is there no mention about the Ewaria Continent outside of its name…?"

Xuan Hao could not understand this, the other three continents very clearly had some powerful forces residing on them before they split off in the ancient war in the past.

The churches and their priests on one continent, The demon beasts, their large forests and mountains on another and finally the powerful sects, empires and demonic sects on the last one…

What power had resided over the Ewaria Continent in the past…? Before the main continent had split up into four continents.

Even though he did not know much about the past, Xuan Hao could very clearly see that the Ewaria Continent had a mix of the other three, churches from one, sects and empires from another and finally the Burning Mountain Range with demon beasts in it from the last one…

"Hah… Looks like I won't be able to find out anything more for now… Maybe the Sky Empire or other empires would have more information on this…"

Sighing to himself as he said this, Xuan Hao put down the book he had just finished about the ancient demon beasts from before the main continent had split up into four.

Standing up from his chair at the library, Xuan Hao managed to see the last few rays of sunlight entering through a nearby window, as the sun slowly disappeared behind the mountains surrounding the Flying Sword Sect.

"Looks like it's already late… Time sure does fly by."

Whoosh~

Leaving behind these few words, Xuan Hao directly disappeared from the library. The books left behind slowly floating up and returning to their rightful place in the different bookshelves of the library.

Chapter 298: End of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom Approaching!

By the time Xuan Hao made his way back to his pavilion, he quickly checked on his quest to see how much it had progressed from his earlier reading session. Learning about three other continents, along with some general knowledge about who might be living on them, should at the very least count towards gaining new knowledge in some way…

Well, if the information was fake, I should not gain any progress towards the quest…

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao went through the quest he had just gotten earlier today before focusing on the part about world history.

[New Knowledge about World History: 97/100]

"…"

To say he was shocked would be an understatement, as Xuan Hao saw the current progress of the world history part of the quest almost done and it had only taken him a little under a day!

If things continued like this, wouldn't he be able to breakthrough and reach the third stage of the Domain Lord Realm in another two days!?

Other than that, Xuan Hao also realized that the information about the three other continents that he had just read about, was true…

The strength of the people on the three continents that he had read about was simply mind boggling to the current Xuan Hao and the excitement from being close to reaching the third stage of the Domain Lord Realm quickly vanished.

That's right! Even here on the Ewaria Continent, there was still people at the Soul Ascension Realm above me! Given that the powers of the old main continent had their bases at the other three continents, they should be stronger than the people at the Ewaria Continent!

By how much, he had no idea, but Xuan Hao silently promised himself that he would not leave the Ewaria Continent any time in future before at least increasing his strength to the Soul Ascension Realm!

From what he had read earlier, there was a few mentions of people in the Soul Ascension Realm when it came to the war that had ended up splitting the ancient main continent into four back then.

So, at the very least, people in the Soul Ascension Realm would not be considered weak by any means outside the Ewaria Continent! On the other hand, they should at least be comparable to how Domain Lords were viewed on the Ewaria Continent… Just below the peak of strength that was the Soul Ascension Realm!

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao felt even more motivated to complete the system quest and increase his strength.

Even if it was far off in the future, Xuan Hao wanted to be able to visit the other three continents without? the fear of dying to some of the experts over there. Maybe even expand the Flying Sword Sect and set up a branch on each of the three continents…

After all, if the people over there were stronger, they would also provide a good training environment for his disciple when they grew stronger…

At that point in time, he could just let his disciples adventure around the three continents without having to spend a lot of time training them. From what Elder Song had taught him, the best way to let one's disciples grow, was to let them adventure outside and explore the world for themselves.

This way, they would get ample battle experience from other cultivators and demon beasts alike. At the same time, they might also be able to chance upon different rare artifacts, precious herbs or even inheritances from old powerful cultivators from the past.

And with his disciples out and about adventuring, he would be able to just stay back at the sect relaxing and enjoying life…

Sadly, his disciples were far from strong enough to go out and adventure through the world by themselves. Currently, the only place that was somewhat safe for them to go out and adventure in, was the territory of the Flying Sword Sect.

Anything beyond that would be way too dangerous for them with their current cultivation realm.

"I will have to teach them about the other continents at some point in the future… Maybe knowing about them will give them an increased drive to increase their cultivation?"

Saying this out loud to himself as he sat down in a meditative position on a small mat, Xuan Hao slowly closed his eyes and focused on cultivating.

Tomorrow, he would finish up the world history part of the quest before moving onto one of the two remaining parts of the quest.

Like this, Xuan Hao quietly began cultivating.

This had been a normal routine for him, as he no longer needed to sleep. Cultivating would be the same as sleeping, as his entire body would completely relax during the process. Slowly clearing away the mental exhaustion accumulated during the day.

In a sense, cultivating during the night was the same as sleeping for a cultivator. The only difference being that they were way more alert to their surroundings than if they were sleeping.

As the night slowly went by, somewhere at the front lines between the Azure Sky Kingdom and the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, a shadowy figure slowly appeared at the centre of the Azure Sky Kingdom's camp.

"Y-your majesty! W-why are you here!?"

A figure soon showed up as he called out to the shadowy figure that soon revealed itself to be the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom.

"Seeing as things were going so slowly with the appearance of that old fossil from the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, I decided to come myself and deal with that nuisance once and for all!"

Answering the person who had long since kneeled down in front of him, the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom narrowed his eyes as his gaze locked onto the defensive barrier set up by the Heavenly Sky Kingdom in the distance.

The soldiers of the Azure Sky Kingdom were helplessly trying to breakthrough the barrier to no avail, as they couldn't advance even a single step.

A very strong aura could be felt from the centre of this defensive barrier, as the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom very clearly knew who it was originating from.

"Hmph! I will take action to remove the old fossil tomorrow! Tell your men to rest for the night before attacking after I dealt with that old guy tomorrow!"

"Y-yes!" Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

Not daring to refuse the order, the general very quickly disappeared in the direction where the soldiers of the Azure Sky Kingdom were fighting in an attempt to break through the barrier.

"You have one night left… Tomorrow there will no longer be any Heavenly Sky Kingdom left on the Ewaria Continent!"

Smiling arrogantly, the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom no longer stayed around as he entered the general's tent at the centre of the army camp before sitting down to meditate until the morning arrived.

Tomorrow, he would finish off the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and make sure there was no Nascent Soul Realm Experts let to resist them on the Heavenly Sky Kingdom's side-

"I just hope that the person from the Spring Flower Sect stays out of it…"

Feeling a presence around the same level as his own, the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom could not help but glance in the direction of a small hilltop not far from where the battle between the two kingdoms was happening…

Chapter 299: Shu Yao's Suspicion

At the same time that the King of the Azure Sky Kingdom arrived inside of the army camp, on a small hilltop located a short distance away from the battlefield, Shu Yao curiously popped her head up and gazed over in the direction of the King.

"Hm… Never expected that the Azure Sky Kingdom would have some at the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm like me. Looks like the Heavenly Sky Kingdom is going to end soon! Maybe I should ask if Elder Xuan could come over just to be safe in case that guy gets any funny ideas…"

Muttering this to herself as she felt the divine sense of the Half-Step Domain Lord in question lock onto her, Shu Yao debated whether to contact Xuan Hao.

The fall of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom would have a large effect on both the Spring Flower Sect, the Flying Sword Sect and the Seven Fates Sect.

Brining both an opportunity for further expanding their territory and at the same time bringing forth possible dangers in case the Azure Sky Kingdom decides to not keep up on their promise to leave after the destruction of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

Overall, Shu Yao felt that Xuan Hao should be present, just in case…

Other than that, Shu Yao had a nagging feeling that there was a reason why the Azure Sky Kingdom had gone ahead and launched a full-on war to destroy the Heavenly Sky Kingdom. Outside of just destroying an old rival kingdom…

After all, it made no sense for the Azure Sky Kingdom to put forth so much effort to destroy the Heavenly Sky Kingdom without any benefits.

At the same time, she had heard from a few friends that the neighbouring kingdoms around the Azure Sky Kingdom had begun moving to invade them while they were busy taking down the Heavenly Sky Kingdom…

No matter how she looked at it, Shu Yao could not see a reason why the Azure Sky Kingdom would want to destroy the Heavenly Sky Kingdom so badly unless there was something they wanted from them.

But what…?

Shu Yao had no idea and planned to find out what the king from the Azure Sky Kingdom wanted so badly that he left his kingdom wide open to attacks from the neighbouring kingdoms…

Thinking about all of this, Shu Yao took out her communication talisman and contacted Xuan Hao.

At least with him around, Shu Yao was sure that the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom wouldn't be able to sneakily hide away the thing he was invading the Heavenly Sky Kingdom for!

At this point in time, Shu Yao had already convinced herself that there must be something important hidden inside of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom that the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom was after…

Back at the Flying Sword Sect, the night slowly passed with Xuan Hao cultivating peacefully.

"Hm? Who is it?"

Picking up his communication talisman, Xuan Hao was surprised to hear Shu Yao on the other side as she explained that she was currently observing what would be the final battlefield between the Azure Sky Kingdom and the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and that the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom had shown up.

"So, why did you contact me…?"

Still not understanding why she would contact him over the battle between the two kingdoms, Xuan Hao clearly remembered that they would remain neutral in the fight…

In the first place, how come Shu Yao was even there…?

"I felt that something was wrong with the Azure Sky Kingdoms attack on the Heavenly Sky Kingdom. No matter how much of a rival they are, they have already taken a large part of their territory away with close to no risk and continuing until they completely destroy the Heavenly Sky Kingdom would result in the neighbouring kingdoms taking advantage of it to take over part of the Azure Sky Kingdom's land!

From a few of my friends outside the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, I already know at least three other kingdoms working together to launch an attack and take over a large chunk of land away from the Azure Sky Kingdom this morning!"

"Indeed… It makes no sense for them to continue until they completely destroy the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, especially so if they are not even planning to take over their territory in the first place… At this point they will only end up losing territory overall…"

Listening to what Shu Yao said, Xuan Hao could not help but agree with her as it was indeed weird for the Azure Sky Kingdom to continue their attack on the Heavenly Sky Kingdom without any benefits.

"So, what do you think their reason for this is…?"

Not understanding why, the Azure Sky Kingdom would do something so stupid, Xuan Hao could not help but ask Shu Yao trough his communication talisman.

"I think that the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom found out about something precious in the possession of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and want to take it away for himself. An ancient artifact or maybe a precious herb of some kind, I really have no idea, but that is the only real reason I can think of…"

Following a short silence from the other side, Shu Yao explained what she believed to be the reason for the Azure Sky Kingdoms continued aggression towards the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

"I see… That would indeed explain why they would continue their attack on the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, especially if the thing in question is something that would help the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom breakthrough into the Domain Lord Realm…"

Nodding his head in agreement while saying this, Xuan Hao could not help but remember the source crystal that he had consumed back when breaking through into the Domain Lord Realm.

A big enough source crystal would most definitely be more than enough to help someone at the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm take the final step into the Domain Lord Realm!

Other than that, Xuan Hao did not know about any other way to help someone reach the Domain Lord Realm. Perhaps a pill similar to the purification pill he had gotten from the system, but Xuan Hao highly doubted that, as the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom would definitely have consumed it by now.

The purification pill fundamentally strengthens the soul and the earlier it could be consumed the better, there would be no reason for the ancestor to just keep it around and wait until he reached the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm…

A source crystal on the other hand, would increase the comprehension of a cultivator during a certain period of time. The effect growing longer and stronger the bigger the source crystal was.

The ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom would definitely not use such a precious resource before reaching the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm!

All in all, Xuan Hao could be wrong and the thing in question could be something completely different, like a powerful artifact or an ancient cultivation mantra of some sort…

"So… I wanted to ask if you were free and wanted to come over, just to keep an eye on the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom and find out the reason he wants to destroy the Heavenly Sky Kingdom so badly!" This chapter was first shared on the Ñøvlß1n platform.

Hearing Xuan Hao agree with her that there was something suspicious about the Azure Sky Kingdom's attack, Shu Yao decided to ask whether he wanted to come over and watch the situation unfold.

"Sure, I will be there in a few hours!"

Not seeing any reason to refuse Shu Yao outside of the fact that he might waste a day or two, Xuan Hao quickly made his way towards several libraries across the Flying Sword Sect before finding over a dozen different books suitable for him to learn for his quest during his short travel outside to watch the fall of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

Finished packing away the dozens of books in his interspatial ring, Xuan Hao did not forget to help out his newest disciple Bai Ning with his cultivation.

Guiding him on how to improve his cultivation in the Qi Condensation for half an hour before finally leaving the Flying Sword Sect after informing Elder Song about his outing.

Flying through the air, Xuan Hao soon passed by the territory of the River Sect where his two disciples were adventuring about and with a quick sweep of his divine sense, Xuan Hao soon found their location.

Currently, both of them were heading over towards a large mountain ridge in the distance together with someone from the River Sect guiding them along the way.

"Hm… That should be the Red Flower Ridge, if I'm not wrong, they were going to deal with some bandits there?"

Muttering this to himself as he floated in the air above his two disciples, Xuan Hao smiled a bit to himself when he thought about something.

The quest only mentioned that the time limit was until my two disciples returned from their sect mission… So, why don't it a little more difficult to find those bandits…?

Thinking this to himself, Xuan Hao could not help but smile cheekily as he disappeared from the location above his two disciples and reappeared directly above the cave leading towards the bandit base.

Fwoosh!

Covering the entire bandit base along with all the bandits in his domain, Xuan Hao directly knocked out all of them before changing the surrounding environment of the base to be more hidden before they woke up again.

"This should do!" Looking at the entrance to the bandit base now completely hidden from view, Xuan Hao nodded to himself before disappearing from the Red Flower Ridge.

He hoped that hiding the bandit base would at least buy him another few hours of time. Maybe even a day if he was lucky!

Chapter 300: Reappearance of the Flower Breaking Mantra!

Having finished up making sure that he would have some more time to complete his quest, Xuan Hao soon left the northern region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and directly entered the central region where the main Heavenly Sky Kingdom had complete control, though from the few towns and cities he passed over, things seemed to already be on the brink of collapse.

Most of the people were either trying to sell off what property they had, while others formed large groups before making their way towards the Northern, Western or Eastern region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

To be honest, Xuan Hao wondered whether or not he had arrived too late and the Heavenly Sky Kingdom had already lost, but after a quick conversation with Shu Yao, Xuan Hao learned that the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom had yet to make his move yet.

"Perhaps the situation of the central region was way worse than I expected…"

Muttering this to himself as he observed the large amount of people trying to leave the central region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, Xuan Hao just sighed at the sight before continuing over in the direction Shu Yao had given him.

"So that is the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom?"

Arriving just in time to watch the fight between the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom, Xuan Hao could not help but ask Shu Yao standing beside him with a curious expression on his face, as he watched the person in question standing arrogantly in front of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom's barrier.

"Yes, though he is indeed quite good looking…"

A wry smile appearing on her face when saying that, Shu Yao had remained focused on the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom.

Xuan Hao could not help but agree with Shu Yao, as he observed the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom. A middle-aged man with a bearing belonging to a king and a handsome face to go along with it. Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

FWOOSH!

Just as Xuan Hao and Shu Yao were talking about the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom, the person in question finally moved when he was only a few meters away from the barrier of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

A large amount of baleful qi flooded the surroundings, as the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom's surprised voice could be heard from beyond the barrier.

"This is?!"

Shu Yao let out an exclamation of surprise after seeing the baleful energy, as a trace of fear appeared on her beautiful face.

"What is it? Do you perhaps know what kind of mantra that the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom is cultivating?"

Seeing the fear appearing on Shu Yao's face, Xuan Hao asked in a curious voice. Maybe the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom was cultivating some sort of demonic cultivation mantra? Given the large amount of baleful qi, Xuan Hao thought that it should be a demonic cultivation mantra of some sort.

The only problem was the fact that the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom was still very much human. Not like the demonic cultivators he had encountered from the Black Rose Sect in the past…

"Indeed, I know this cultivation mantra and it's not a demonic one… The results of cultivating it is truly terrifying, I don't think I would be his match if we ended up fighting each other…"

"Not a demonic cultivation mantra? Then do you perhaps know what this cultivation mantra is called, I have never seen a cultivation mantra involving baleful qi that is not demonic…"

Listening to what Shu Yao said, Xuan Hao not only did not feel the slightest fear and only grew more curious after hearing Shu Yao openly admit that she was not the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom's match in a fight.

After all, no matter how strong the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom was, he was still only at the Nascent Soul Realm.

Xuan Hao was only surprised over the fact that he had cultivated baleful qi, when it came to a fight, Xuan Hao would easily be able to deal with him.

His domain alone would be more than enough to instantly deal with him.

"Hah… Sorry for losing my composure earlier, the cultivation mantra is called the Flower Breaking Mantra and it's a Peak Earth Rank Mantra. Apparently, its only part of an even stronger Peak Heaven Rank Mantra called the Supreme Flower Breaking Mantra…"

Remembering the fact that she had someone at the Domain Lord Realm standing just next to her, Shu Yao quickly calmed herself down before answering.

"The… Flower Breaking Mantra…?"

"Yes, it belonged to an ancient sect in the past called Devil Flower Sect, their sect master was an expert at the Soul Ascension Realm and was given the name of Flower Breaking Emperor… The sect itself has long since ceased to exist even before the Sky Empire came to be, but their legacy still exists to this day.

The main reason for this, is due to the fact that they were freely distributing the Peak Earth Rank version of the Flower Breaking Mantra to everyone… Perhaps you've heard about it before?"

"No… I never heard about it before…"

Listening to Shu Yao's explanation, Xuan Hao remembered his time back in the secret realm together with Chi Hu.

Back then, Chi Hu had found the Supreme Flower Breaking Mantra, but the cultivation method for the mantra was simply too much and Xuan Hao had tried to erase the memory of what he had read back then…

"I see, you can be considered lucky! The Flower Breaking Mantra is indeed powerful, but it has several drawbacks and the method cultivating it… is rather 'unique'… In the past, I happened to pass by a group of people cultivating this mantra together…"

Shaking her head as she thought about something with a both fearful and disgusted look appearing on her face for a short moment, Xuan Hao could not help but feel a sense of sympathy for her…

For her to encounter a group of cultivators practicing the Flower Breaking Mantra… Xuan Hao could barely begin to imagine the horror a woman like Shu Yao must have experienced upon witnessing such a scene…

Chapter 301: Su Wuhan, King of the Azure Sky Kingdom!

Just as Shu Yao and Xuan Hao were talking with each other about the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom's cultivation mantra, the person in question had finished flooding the surroundings with his baleful qi, as it soon gathered together again before covering up the entire barrier that the Heavenly Sky Kingdom had set up.

Crack~

Several cracks suddenly formed all over the barrier under the pressure of the baleful qi and after a few more seconds under the terrifying pressure, the barrier of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom broke apart. Revealing the fearful faces of both the soldiers and Nascent Soul Realm Experts from the Heavenly Sky Kingdom hiding on the other side of the barrier.

Not understanding how the barrier had been destroyed so easily in the first place.

"Attack!"

The shout from one of the generals on the side of the Azure Sky Kingdom quickly woke them up, as the soldiers and Nascent Soul Realm Experts from the Azure Sky Kingdom's side began charging over towards them.

"Prepare to hold-"

Ptsh!

A small team captain for in the Heavenly Sky Kingdom's army called out in an attempt to get his men ready to face the Azure Sky Kingdoms soldiers, but this was short lived, as an arrow imbued with qi flew over and pierced through his head. Killing the small team captain of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom in one hit.

"C-captain!"

"No!"

"H-how is this happening!?"

The group of soldiers under the now dead captain began panicking after seeing their leader suddenly dying, as many of them broke ranks in an attempt to get away from the soldiers of the Azure Sky Kingdom charging over towards them full of killing intent.

"Argh!"

"Nooo!" L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

"I-I can't die like this-"

The same thing was happening across the entire army of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, as several key members in charge of the army died off one by one.

Soon, the entire army of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom was in a state of complete chaos, as most were just trying to get away from the battlefield instead of fighting back against the soldiers of the Azure Sky Kingdom.

"Damn you!"

Watching the chaos unfolding below, the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom stared hatefully of in the direction of the Azure Sky Kingdom's king. Not forgetting to curse him after seeing the Heavenly Sky Kingdoms Nascent Soul Realm Experts being blocked by the Azure Sky Kingdom's own experts.

Stopping them from calming down the current chaos spreading through the army at an alarming rate.

The ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom felt even more angry that he could not move out personally to kill the deserters running away fearfully.

The king of the Azure Sky Kingdom had not once looked away from him and what was even worse, was the fact that the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom had no idea what level his strength had reached. Only certain that he had not reached the Domain Lord Realm yet. After all, if he was at the Domain Lord Realm, destroying the entire Heavenly Sky Kingdom would be a walk in the park.

No need to bring his army and Nascent Soul Realm Experts along…

"Su Wuhan! What is the meaning of this? Why are you continuing this meaningless attack on my Heavenly Sky Kingdom!? You should at least know that the other kingdoms won't sit still with your entire army here!"

Calling out the name of the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom, the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom asked in a both angry and confused voice loud enough for even Xuan Hao and Shu Yao to hear him clearly.

"Hmph! Don't play so ignorant! You should know the reason why I'm here… So, I have a suggestion for you. Hand what I want over peacefully, and I won't kill you… How about it? This way your Heavenly Sky Kingdom will be able to survive as well!"

Snickering disdainfully after hearing what the ancestor said, Su Wuhan suggested this, even though he very well knew that there was no way the ancestor from the Heavenly Sky Kingdom would give away the thing he wanted.

After all, it represented a chance to breakthrough and reach the Domain Lord Realm!

There was no way the old ancestor from the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, who was already of old age, would hand over what could be his last chance to breakthrough and increase his lifespan!

Both of them knew this very well…

Whoosh!

Without even answering Su Wuhan, the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom took the opportunity to launch the first attack, as he charged over towards Su Wuhan full of killing intent.

A spikey maze giving of a terrifying aura appearing in his right hand along the way, showing off the fact that the ancestor was in possession of an interspatial ring.

Whoosh~

Using his full strength to swing down his maze towards Su Wuhan, the ancestor was only met with a look of contempt from Su Wuhan, as he slowly lifted his right hand to block the incoming maze.

Tch! How foolish, does he think he can easily block my maze?

Seeing this, the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom did not hesitate as he used his qi to strengthen the maze even further.

Hoping to kill the arrogant Su Wuhan in one fell swoop.

BOOM!

Only an instant had passed from the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom charging over, to his maze bearing down on the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom with a dreadful power hiding inside of it before a large explosion occurred, causing a shockwave that swept through the entire battlefield.

This in turn, caused both the fleeing soldiers of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and the charging soldiers of the Azure Sky Kingdom to come to a complete stop as they all looked over towards the centre of the explosion where their respective leaders were currently located.

A few soldiers from the Heavenly Sky Kingdom's side even managed to take advantage of this, to quietly sneak away from the battlefield.

Chapter 302: End of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom!

"The ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom is indeed at the Peak of the Ninth Stage. Probably with just a bit mor time, he would break through to the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm… What a pity…" Shaking her head as she looked over at the centre of the explosion, Shu Yao already knew the outcome of the battle before she could see the two figures beneath the layer of dust that surrounded them at the moment.

Even she would not be able to win against Su Wuhan in combat! Let alone the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, who hadn't even reached the true peak of the Nascent Soul Realm yet…

"H-how!?"

As if to answer her prediction, the fearful voice of the ancestor could be heard as the dust slowly began to settle. Revealing the current state of the two respective rulers.

One standing without a single injury, while the other was covered in blood with a broken maze laying next to him on the ground.

Disbelief written on his old face, as he could still not understand how he had been defeated so easily by Su Wuhan.

"You are simply weaker than me, that simple… Now, want to tell me where you hid that thing? I'm certain that you wouldn't bring it with you in your interspatial, it should be way too big for that!"

Walking over to the half kneeling ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, Su Wuhan asked in a demanding tone. Not leaving any way out for the old man.

"Hmph, think I will tell you? Over my dead body!"

Regaining some of his former arrogance for a short moment, the old man decisively abandoned his physical body, as his Nascent Soul flew into the sky and began escaping at the fastest speed possible.

"You!"

Even if Su Wuhan had predicted that the old ancestor would do something like that when driven close to death, he could still not catch up with the old man's Nascent Soul as it flew into the distance. Far exceeding the speed, he or his attacks would be able to catch up with.

"Haha, I guess you didn't expect for me to have a secret technique allowing me to increase the flying speed of my Nascent Soul! Hehe, in the future, I will be sure to return and pay you back for this humiliation today!"

A happy laughter echoed out from the Nascent Soul of the old ancestor as it flew away into the distance. Leaving Su Wuhan in the dust.

Whoosh!

Bang!

Boom!

Su Wuhan tried his best to prevent the escape of the Nascent Soul, but all his attempts were futile. Only resulting in him accidently hitting some of his own soldiers along with some of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom. Killing them the moment the attack hit, as there was no way for them to resist the attacks of someone in the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm.

"DAMN YOU!"

"HAHA, I will see you soon! HAHAHA!"

Screaming out angrily as the Nascent Soul slowly began disappearing into the distance, Su Wuhan could not help but lose control of his emotions for a split second.

He knew very well how much trouble the Nascent Soul of the old ancestor escaping would mean for his Azure Sky Kingdom in the future. Not to say that he might have wasted his time attacking the Heavenly Sky Kingdom if he could not find the thing that the old ancestor had hidden away…!

"Should we interfere and kill the ancestor? He will most likely come looking for revenge in the future, we did after all split off from his kingdom and take a large part of his territory along with it…"

Standing on top of the small hilltop only a few hundred meters away from the edge of the battlefield, Shu Yao turned around and asked Xuan Hao.

The scene of the Su Wuhan chasing the Nascent Soul was still playing out, as Shu Yao wanted to move out and deal with the ancestor before he managed to escape.

This way, they would be able to deal with a potential future threat and might even get some clue as to what the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom wanted so badly that he set out to destroy the Heavenly Sky Kingdom for it…

"No… Let him get away!"

Smiling to himself, Xuan Hao shook his head and stopped the eager Shu Yao from going over to help kill the Nascent Soul of the old ancestor.

"Why?"

Shu Yao could not understand why Xuan Hao did not want to deal with a potential future threat now that the chance presented itself.

"Because him staying alive is of great use to us! With him around, there is no way the Azure Sky Kingdom can rest easy, and they won't be able to pay much attention to us when we decide to expand our influence and territory in the future.

Other than that, I highly doubt that we are first on the list of revenge targets for the old ancestor… The first on his list in the future will definitely be the Azure Sky Kingdom!"

Saying this, Xuan Hao watched the Nascent Soul of the old ancestor disappear in the distance as the angry Su Wuhan soon returned to the battlefield before letting out his anger on the remaining soldiers of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

Boom!

The poor soldiers only around the Qi Condensation Realm and Foundation Establishment Realm had no way to resist as they were quickly reduced to dust under the attacks of the angry Su Wuhan. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

The remaining Nascent Soul Realm Experts of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom on the other hand, knew that there was no hope left for the kingdom after seeing the fall of their ancestor and had long since decided to run away. Taking with them a few of their trusted friends or family among the remaining soldiers before Su Wuhan returned to the battlefield.

"I think we should leave as well… Looks like Su Wuhan didn't even know the location of the thing that the ancestor was hiding… How disappointing…"

Shaking her head as she remembered the conversation between the two rulers she had overheard earlier, Shu Yao felt like she had wasted her time coming to watch the final battle of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

"I guess… At least we were able to witness how strong the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom was!"

Noting the small positive information, they had gained from showing up, Xuan Hao and Shu Yao soon left the small hilltop and made their way back towards the Flying Sword Sect together. Flying there with the help of Xuan Hao's domain.

Chapter 303: Spending the rest of the Day Reading Peacefully~

After returning to the Flying Sword Sect together with Shu Yao, Xuan Hao quickly sat her down on the ground before she took off and disappeared in the direction of Feng Chen's pavilion.

The reason for this, was that Feng Chen would be returning to the Flying Sword Sect soon and she would like to finish the last few details of the merger with him before officially beginning the process of merging the two sects together, it looked like the Spring Flower Sect would soon be a part of the Flying Sword Sect…

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao could not help but worry about where they would have their main sect in the future… After all, both the current Flying Sword Sect and the Spring Flower Sect, were way too small to accommodate everyone in one place…

It almost seemed inevitable that they would have to either expand one of the two main sects or find a new location to build an even larger main sect at.

"Well… That is not for me to worry about…"

Shaking his head when he thought about how they would fit everyone into one location, Xuan Hao felt a little pity for Elder Song, as he would most likely be worked to dead in the coming months.

At least he hoped Feng Chen and Shu Yao would come to some idea on what direction they would be going. Expanding one of the two main sects or finding a new location to build an even larger main sect on. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

No matter what, Elder Song was going to have a hard time allocating the sect's resources and manpower towards the chosen plan… Maybe the Spring Flower Sect had their own Elder Song to help out as well…?

"Hehe…"

Chuckling a bit to himself upon imagining a female version of Elder Song, Xuan Hao soon decided to make his way back to his own pavilion.

The fight between the ancestor of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom and Su Wuhan, king of the Azure Sky Kingdom, had taken a way shorter time than expected and Xuan Hao still had the books he had gathered earlier on him.

So, in the end, there was no need for him to go and visit the sect's libraries. Instead, he could just read through the books he had gathered back in his own pavilion first.

Hopefully, the books he had gathered, would be enough for him to complete the world history part of the quest along with the combat and movement technique part.

After that, he could go around and visit the different profession halls of the Flying Sword Sect and complete the last part of his quest.

"Bai Ning also seems to be out at the moment… Is he perhaps visiting the Blacksmithing Hall…?"

Muttering this to himself as he arrived back at his pavilion after only a few hours outside, Xuan Hao could not help but smile to himself when he thought about Bai Ning.

Even from the first day that he had taken him as a disciple, Bai Ning was already set on the path of becoming a blacksmith. Even if he focused on blacksmithing way more than cultivation, Xuan Hao did not mind it. The reason why had chosen the Unformed Mantra for him in the first place, was due to the fact that he knew this would happen!

Whoosh~

Making his way around his pavilion, Xuan Hao soon came to a stop in front of a small gazebo with a few chairs and a table located at the edge of the mountain peak overlooking the entire Flying Sword Sect from above.

"This looks like a great spot…"

Sitting down on one of the chairs, Xuan Hao looked down at the Flying Sword Sect below.

The smoke coming from the furnaces of the Blacksmithing Hall, the swarm of disciples constantly moving in and out of the Mission Hall, disciples selling and buying different pills or artifacts at the small market they created in front of the Artifact Hall…

There were even a few elders sneakily moving away from one of the storage buildings with a barrel of what looked like wine…

Seeing this, Xuan Hao smiled a bit to himself.

The Flying Sword Sect is indeed quite lively…

Thinking this before taking out one of the books he had brought with him, Xuan Hao began to read it as he slowly became immersed in the book. Trying his best to learn and remember every single thing written in it by heart.

Rustle~

"Thank you!"

At some point, Zhi Ruo had shown up with a cup of tea that she gently placed in front of him along with a few snacks.

"…"

Not saying anything, Zhi Ruo just bowed her head respectful before turning to leave just as quietly as she had appeared.

Like this, Xuan Hao spent the rest of the day peacefully reading through different books filled with all sorts of different combat and movement techniques. Expanding his overall knowledge when it came to both combat techniques and movement techniques!

In the future when his two oldest disciples returned, Xuan Hao would have a plethora of new techniques to teach them!

[Side Quest: Learn about new subjects to better teach your disciples.]

[New Knowledge about Professions: 0/100]

[New Knowledge about Movement and Combat Techniques: 100/100(complete)]

[New Knowledge about World History: 100/100 (complete)]

"Looks like the technique and history part is already done. Maybe I should teach Bai Ning one of the techniques I learned about today after finishing the rest of the quest? After all, he should at least know some way of defending himself in the future!"

Saying this to himself, Xuan Hao looked up at the sun about to disappear behind the mountains surrounding the Flying Sword Sect.

After spending the rest of the day reading, it looked like he would have to wait until the next day before visiting any of the profession halls…

Bai Ning had also returned back to the pavilion at some point and was already asleep in his room, Zhi Ruo was the same. Leaving only Xuan Hao awake on the mountain peak.

"Guess I will just cultivate here until morning arrives…"

Putting his books away, Xuan Hao closed his eyes and sat down on a pillow he had taken off one of the chairs before beginning to cultivate.

Like this, the stars soon appeared above as the night slowly passed.

Chapter 304: Xuan Hao's First Visit to the Alchemy Hall

"Huh? I improved by so much all of a sudden!?" Looking up at the sun slowly rising up from behind the mountains, Xuan Hao could not help but mutter to himself in surprise as he felt how much his cultivation base had improved from just one night.

If he was at the earlier stages of the second stage of the Domain Lord Realm before. By now he had already become a Peak Second Stage Domain Lord. Only a short distance away from reaching the Third Stage!

Standing up from his mediative position, Xuan Hao scanned his body and found out that he was indeed only a single step away from reaching the third stage of the Domain Lord Realm!

"Maybe it was because I cultivated outside for once?"

Xuan Hao truly had no idea why he had advanced so quickly and decided to check his status with the help of the system to see if anything had changed throughout the night.

Name: Xuan Hao

Domain: Sword Intent Domain

Talent: ???

Realm: Peak Second Stage Domain Lord

Professions: Alchemist (Artisan level)

Sect: Flying Sword Sect

Disciples: Qing Yi, Chu Yang, Bai Ning

Looking over his status, Xuan Hao could not really see any changes. The only thing that caught him slightly off guard, was the fact that his domain was called a Sword Intent Domain instead of just a Sword Domain by the system.

Still, this did not give him any clues as to what may have caused his sudden increase in cultivation speed during last night. Maybe his hidden talent of some sort had awakened…?

"Hah… No way…" Shaking his head at the thought of this, Xuan Hao decided that he would just try and cultivate outside again tonight and see if the same thing would happen again.

"I should not delay for too long; I still have to complete the mission before my two disciples return and I have a feeling that the last part will be the hardest…"

Already having a plan of action for what he would be doing for the rest of the day, Xuan Hao floated up into the air before heading over towards the Alchemy Hall.

Learning some common potions or pills from the profession that he was already at the Artisan Level in, seemed to be the easiest way for him to complete his quest…

At the very least, he would be able to easily learn given the knowledge he already had on alchemy.

For the first time, Xuan Hao felt thankful that the system had not transferred any knowledge about ordinary alchemy recipes back then. At the very least, he would be able to easily find something new to learn at the Alchemy Hall!

Arriving in the Alchemy Hall, Xuan Hao decided to check in on Peng Yun and see how he was doing at the moment. Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

After all, he had his cultivation sealed by Shu Yao and was forced to give away the alchemy knowledge he had accumulated throughout his life for a chance to live… Not really something that would be easy by any means, but Xuan Hao had no idea what to say when he really saw him.

"Senior Peng Yun! Can you help me out with this potion recipe? I messed up a bit yesterday and…"

"Peng Yun! Can you come and help me out late today?"

"Elder Peng Yun, thank you for you great lecture today! I Learned a lot from you!"

What was this? How come both elders and disciples of the Alchemy Hall were so happy around him asking for help? Even Wan Qiu, who locked herself up for practicing some new alchemy recipe most of the time, was asking Peng Yun to come and help her out!?

"Looks like he is doing well… Maybe we might even be able to add another Nascent Soul Realm Expert to our sect after he finishes teaching in the Alchemy Hall…"

Narrowing his eyes as he quickly sent a message to Elder Song through his communication talisman, Xuan Hao soon left the entrance of the Alchemy Hall before moving towards the library where the different potion and pill recipes were located.

The library was mostly empty when Xuan Hao entered it, likely because of the Alchemy Hall's low number of disciples.

Even to this point in time, Qing Yi was still their most recent member…

Hopefully the alchemy competition in another 3 or so months would be able to inspire a few more disciples to join the Alchemy Hall…

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao walked over to a nearby bookshelf with a large sign hanging above it with [Apprentice Potion Recipes] written on it.

The bookshelf was completely filled to the brim with all sorts of recipes and books with large collections of recipes in them.

The bookshelf was also not the only one with apprentice potion recipes, as Xuan Hao could easily see another dozen or so with the same sign above them a little further inside the library.

From this alone, Xuan Hao could easily see how many different recipes that the Alchemy Hall was in possession of! And this was only the Apprentice Potion Recipes! There were still pill recipes and the recipes for the higher-level pill and potions!

"Hm… Qi Absorption Potion, Minor Strength Potion, Healing Salve…"

Going over the different apprentice level potion recipes, Xuan Hao quickly picked a few before leaving the library.

To truly learn alchemy, reading would not be enough, he would have to brew the potion in question before he could say that he had truly learned it!

For that, he would need to borrow one of the Alchemy Hall's alchemy rooms or return back to his pavilion and use one the build in alchemy rooms! And last but not least, some of their spiritual herbs…

Using his identity as a Core Elder was truly a good feeling, as the elder in charge of the spiritual herbs happily gave away any spiritual herbs, he asked for and pointed him towards one of their empty alchemy rooms…

But for some reason he had a feeling that he was being observed by someone during the entire process…?

Shaking his suspicious feeling aside as he only saw a few elders from the Alchemy Hall nearby, Xuan Hao entered the brewing room that he had been pointed towards by the elder in charge of the spiritual herbs before quickly closing the door behind him.

Chapter 305: First Potion and Alchemy Elders Outside

Entering the alchemy room, Xuan Hao did not think too much about what he had felt earlier and instead just placed the spiritual herbs that he had gotten on the side before taking out the first potion recipe that he had decided to try out.

[Strength Potion]

The potion in question, was one that would boost one's physical strength for a set amount of time.

The reason why he had chosen it as the first potion, was the fact that it was among one of the easiest apprentice potions to make. From what he knew, the potion itself would also be useful when it came to making other potions in the future, as it incorporated many elements that was used as a basis for brewing other apprentice level potions.

Fwoosh!

Starting the fire, Xuan Hao began to grind the different spiritual herbs used for the potion according to the recipe before placing some water over to boil over the fire.

Compared to some higher-level potion recipes that would use all sorts of different rare spiritual liquids or waters. Apprentice level potions would only use normal water for the potion.

Bubble~

"Hm… Looks like I should add the different herbs in now…" Muttering this to himself as he watched the boiling water, Xuan Hao slowly began to add in the newly grinded up spiritual herbs in the order that the recipe had dictated. Making sure he added just the right amount. Not forgetting to stir to boiling mixture when needed.

Fwoosh!

With time slowly passing by, Xuan Hao did his best to keep an eye on the potion mixture as it slowly began changing colours.

Going from a light purple at the start, to a bright red towards the end as he carefully put the mixture aside and let it cool down before placing it into three separate bottles for storage.

"Looks like I succeed in the first try! The knowledge of alchemy given to me by the system was really useful…"

Smiling to himself as he looked at the finished product, Xuan Hao could not help but feel happy when he thought about how easy it had been for him to make the strength potion.

Even if he had never tried making the apprentice level strength potion before today, his knowledge about all sorts of alchemy recipes and how to make them that he had learned from the system. Ended up helping him make it without any problems.

On the other hand, it would be quite embarrassing if he could not even make an apprentice level potion as someone who was an Artisan level alchemist…

"Next is the Qi Absorption potion!"

Not waiting for even a moment after seeing that his strength potion was a success, Xuan Hao began preparing the next batch of spiritual herbs before starting the process of brewing the next potion.

At the same time, just outside the alchemy room that Xuan Hao had entered, the different elders from the Alchemy Hall had gathered together as they barely managed to supress their curiosity to open the door and enter.

"Wan Qiu… Are you sure we can't just enter and greet Elder Xuan? I'm sure he won't mind and if he is offended by it, we can always give him a few spiritual herbs as an apology…" One of the elders who could almost not hold himself back turned towards Wan Qiu and asked.

"No! You should at least know how bad it is for someone to come and interrupt you in the process of making a potion or pill!"

Understanding the reason for the elder's curiosity, Wan Qiu had to spot him in case he ended up offending Elder Xuan.

She herself, had also been curious about the true level that Elder Xuan had reached when it came to alchemy and wanted to break down the door and see for herself, but her reasoning managed to hold her back from doing something so dumb.

No matter what, Xuan Hao was a Core Elder and they could not afford to offend someone like that… And much less so just to satiate their curiosity for his current alchemy realm…

"Hm…? What are all of you doing around here?"

Having just left a moment earlier after talking with the group of elders to sort out a few things in his own alchemy room, Peng Yun could not help but ask in a confused tone as he saw almost all five of the Alchemy Hall's elders gathered together in the hallway with alchemy rooms for disciples or elders not part of the Alchemy Hall to use.

"Ah… Nothing… We… We just finished checking the quality of these rooms and were discussing how to go about a few much-needed repairs in a few of them!"

Reacting much faster than Wan Qiu and the rest of the elders, Elder Gong Bo stroked his large white beard with a wise look on his face as he explained to the confused Peng Yun, causing the rest of the elders to breath out a sigh of relief.

Luckily Elder Gong Bo was fast thinking and came up with an excuse! There was no way they wanted to admit to the fact that they almost broke into the alchemy room of someone in the midst practicing alchemy!

Something like disturbing someone in the process of brewing or making pills, was highly frowned upon and disgraceful for alchemist, as it might result in them making a mistake and ruining all the precious spirit herbs that they were using. Let alone, the person they were about to disturb was also a Core Elder!

"Ah, I see, I won't disturb you anymore then! I just came to inform Wan Qiu that she is more than welcome to come latter today after I finish up a lecture for some of the younger alchemists." Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

Nodding his head in approval upon hearing what Elder Gong Bo said, Peng Yun soon turned around and left the group of elders.

"W-we should just leave Elder Xuan alone for now… We can always find out about his alchemy realm in the future…"

The short elder Xia Wu felt a bit nervous all of a sudden as he said this, causing the surrounding elders to nod in agreement before turning to leave the doorway leading into the alchemy room Xuan Hao was currently staying in.

Soon, only Wan Qiu was left behind in front of the alchemy room, as she felt reluctant to leave and give up the opportunity to learn about Elder Xuan's alchemy realm.

What should I do?!

Hesitating for a moment, as she looked around herself to see no one else around her, Wan Qiu built up a bit courage for herself before finally stepping forward.

Knock Knock~

And lightly knocking at the door to the alchemy room.

Chapter 306: Chaos Breaks Out

Knock Knock~

"Hm?"

About to start brewing the second potion, Xuan Hao turned and looked over towards the door with a confused look on his face before quickly scanning over the person outside with his divine sense.

What does one of the Alchemy Hall's elders want with me? Is it perhaps related to Qing Yi?

Thinking about what the Alchemy Hall's elders might want with him, Xuan Hao could only think that it might be something related to Qing Yi, she was after all the only real connection he had with the Alchemy Hall… Other than being a part of the same sect.

Creak~

"Is there anything I can help with? Are you perhaps here regarding something about Qing Yi?"

Opening the door without waiting around, Xuan Hao smiled kindly at the middle-aged elder outside the alchemy room.

"I… Y-yeah, that's it!"

Thinking about something for a short moment before she answered him, Wan Qiu suddenly remembered that Elder Xuan's disciple was also a member of their Alchemy Hall!

How stupid! Why could I not just ask Qing Yi about her master's realm in alchemy! He would surely have taught her about alchemy at some point!

"I see… Is it perhaps about the alchemy competition that is coming up in another three months?"

Nodding his head as he confirmed his suspicions, Xuan Hao asked Elder Wan Qiu yet again, seemingly already having an idea as to why Elder Wan Qiu had come.

"Indeed! I just heard from another elder that you were here and decided to come over and ask you about the upcoming alchemy competition! I was mainly curious about whether you would be joining us as well when we leave for the competition in three months."

Deciding to just go with what Xuan Hao had said, Wan Qiu did not hold back in the slightest as she asked him.

On one side, their safety while traveling to the site of the competition would increase even further with someone like Xuan Hao around and on the other side, she would be able to learn more about him along with how far he had gone when it came to alchemy! A win-win situation!

"Hm… I should be joining you if nothing urgent pops up all of a sudden."

Thinking about it for a short moment, Xuan Hao nodded his head in agreement to Wan Qiu's question.

This way, he would also be able to prevent his disciple from being snatched away by someone at the upcoming alchemy competition!

Even if he knew it was unlikely, Xuan Hao still felt a bit cautious towards the organizer of the alchemy competition. The old artisan alchemist did after all set up the competition to find a disciple!

What if he ended up taking an interest in his disciple and tried snatching her away?

"That's great! I really wanted to ask you about this, but as you know, it's been quite hard to contact you lately and seeing as time was running out, I decided to come over and disturb you for a short moment… I hope I didn't cause you any trouble…"

"No worries, all is fine!"

"Great! Then I will take my leave for now. Thanks for your time Elder Xuan!"

Bowing her head as she said this, Wan Qiu soon turned around and disappeared after turning around the corner at the end of the hallway.

"Looks like the Alchemy Hall have been trying to contact me during the past few months… Maybe I didn't get informed because I spent so much time outside the sect lately…?" Muttering this to himself, Xuan Hao soon shook his head and turned around to enter the alchemy room again.

At least he would now be able to join the Alchemy Hall when going to the Alchemy Competition in another three months!

Feeling that he would no longer have to worry too much about Qing Yi being stolen away with him around in the future alchemy competition, Xuan Hao picked up the few spiritual herbs and began brewing the Qi Absorption potion with even more energy than before. Motivated by both the quest and a desire to increase his alchemy skill so his disciple would not end up running away to a more skilled teacher!

… L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

At the same time that Xuan Hao was practicing different alchemy recipes back at the Flying Sword Sect, what remained of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom after the Azure Sky Kingdom destroyed their main force, began escaping in all directions. Most of them leaving what had been the territory of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom completely, while only a few decided to flee into the territory of the three remaining sects. The Seven Fates Sect, Spring Flower Sect and Flying Sword Sect.

The escapees mostly consisted of people who had worked as administrators over the different towns, cities and different states existing inside the central region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

All of them running due to the fear that the Azure Sky Kingdom might come and finish off what remained of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom soon.

The normal citizen of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom did not react calmly upon seeing their different leaders running away all of a sudden and many had already begun fleeing even before the defeat of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom's main force.

In the end, complete chaos engulfed the central region as what remained of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom rapidly began collapsing, with everyone taking whatever precious resources or materials they could with them before running away.

Even the guards in charge of the treasury back at the Heavenly Sky Kingdom's Royal Capital abandoned their post upon hearing the news of the main forces defeat. Instead becoming one day robbers, as the treasury's precious spirit stones and resources were soon emptied out completely.

Wandering cultivators and bandits alike had joined in on the action as well, quickly throwing the capital into complete chaos as cultivators could be seen fighting at the streets over spirit stones and artifacts that had been stored in the treasury for the past hundreds of years.

Chapter 307: Quest Progress Limit!

The chaos caused by the fall of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, was not only limited to the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, as the surrounding kingdoms began to see a large influx of people suddenly entering their kingdoms.

This sudden influx of people caused a large crisis at the borders, as some managed to enter the other kingdoms, while others were left with no way out from the rapidly collapsing Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

Even the Flying Sword Sect, who now existed completely independently from the Heavenly Sky Kingdom. Felt the pressure of the sudden influx of people streaming into their territory, as Elder Song was forced to work overtime to sort out the issue of where the new people should be placed with the different sects and other forces inside the Flying Sword Sects territory.

Making sure that a sect with only a few hundred disciples and a sect master at the early stages of the Core Formation Realm, would not end up having to deal with over ten thousand people suddenly showing up out of nowhere, when they were used to dealing with only a fraction of that beforehand.

Prioritizing the larger and more stable sects and large cities run by different family clans to take in the former Heavenly Sky Kingdom citizen fleeing from the chaos erupting in the central region over what little spirit stones or other resources remain.

At the same time, back in the Azure Sky Kingdom, the church of the plague god had already managed to establish a foundation and had begun spreading more rampantly with the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom gone.

Su Wuhan had just barely made it back in time to supress the church of the plague god before they managed to completely take control of the Azure Sky Kingdom.

In the end, the whole ordeal landed the Azure Sky Kingdom in an extremely dangerous situation, as they were etching closer and closer to collapse with each passing day.

The church of the plague god constantly furthering their influence and power as they tried to take control on the inside, while several neighbouring kingdoms had teamed up to invade and take over a large part of the Azure Sky Kingdom.

By this point in time, the only reason why the Azure Sky Kingdom did not collapse, was due to the fact that Su Wuhan, the king of the Azure Sky Kingdom, was someone at the Half-Step Domain Lord Realm.

When this became known, the invading kingdoms did not dare to launch a full-scale invasion on the Azure Sky Kingdom, while the church of the plague god began to take things more slowly.

No matter what, the Azure Sky Kingdom barely managed to remain stable after the return of their king, Su Wuhan.

[New Knowledge about Professions: 25/100]

[Alchemy 25/25]

"So, there's a limit to how much I can gain from just alchemy…"

Looking at the new addition to his quest, Xuan Hao could not help but let out a sigh of frustration. Putting the purple potion currently in his hand to the side.

"Looks like I will also have to learn about other profession than just alchemy…" Muttering this to himself, Xuan Hao looked over the remaining spiritual herbs inside the room before turning around to leave. Remembering to inform the elder from earlier in charge of the spiritual herbs that he was done with the room and some of the spiritual herbs were still left.

Taking the strength potions with him was not really important, as it was pretty useless to him and he doubted his other disciple would find any use for it… L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

The only potion that he brought with him out of the alchemy hall was the Qi Absorption Potion. Given that it might be helpful to his youngest disciple, Bai Ning, who was still at the Qi Condensation Realm.

Whoosh~

With this, Xuan Hao quietly left the Alchemy Hall. Thinking about which three professions he should try and learn about next. Given they had the same progress limit as alchemy.

"Elder Wan Qiu! Elder Xuan just left… If you want to enter the alchemy room he used, I think now is the time before someone comes along to clean up the place!"

Inside a large alchemy room with all sorts of different spiritual herbs stored all around it in a messy manner.

"Argh!"

All kinds of papers were laying all over the floor of the messy alchemy room, with the person who called out earlier barely managing to stabilize himself from tripping over a small pile of papers together with a few unfortunate spiritual herbs on the floor.

"Hm?! Ah! The elder in charge of the spiritual herbs! Are you sure Elder Xuan left and is not just out for a short break or something?"

Noticing the elder that had entered her alchemy room, Wan Qiu quickly brightened up as she ignored the fact that he fell over some of the mess she had created in her personal alchemy room…

She had already heard enough from the other elders constantly complaining about her mess and wanting her to clean up… There was no way she was going to bring it up herself! Even if another elder ended up falling headfirst onto the floor and getting a little intimate with it!

"… Yes, he just left, saying he left behind a few spiritual herbs and some other things he didn't need! Also, you really need to clean-"

Whoosh~

Before the elder in question even managed to finish what, he was about to say, Wan Qiu had already run past him and disappeared out into the hallway just behind him as she rushed towards the room Xuan Hao had just been using moments ago.

"… Hah..."

Leaving behind one shocked elder, who could not help sighing to himself as he inspected the messy alchemy room of Wan Qiu.

Did she perhaps know what he was going to say? Is she really so much against just sorting out her mess…? Perhaps she was just curious about the things Elder Xuan had been working on?

Not knowing the answer to the questions, the elder looked at the messy room one last time before leaving the messy alchemy room behind.

Even if her methods and alchemy room were messy most of the time, Wan Qiu was still the best alchemist in the Alchemy Hall…

Chapter 308: Formation Hall

Bang!

Violently making her wa inside the alchemy room Xuan Hao had been in just moments ago, Wan Qiu did not waste any time before making her way over towards the table filled with the different spiritual herbs and three strength potions made earlier by Xuan Hao.

"This is…?"

Seeing the low rank spiritual herbs, Wan Qiu was slightly surprised for a short moment before focusing on the three strength potions still left alone on the table.

Perhaps he just came to brew a few potions for his disciples to use…?

Thinking this as she observed the three strength potions in front of her, Wan Qiu picked up one of the three bottles before inspecting the liquid inside curiously.

"T-this!?"

At first just glancing over the liquid inside the potion bottle, Wan Qiu could not help but let a small, surprised voice escape from her lips as she focused her full attention on the liquid inside the potion bottle. Growing more and more excited with each passing second.

"This is a new recipe for the strength potion! Even if the herbs and order are the same, the refinement method towards the end is completely different!"

Smiling from ear to ear as she said this out loud to herself, Wan Qiu soon looked around the room supesciously before taking away the other two remaining potion bottles.

Whoosh!

Making a straight line through the Alchemy Hall, as she returned to her alchemy room.

Surprising a certain alchemy elder that had just left her room and was on his way over towards the alchemy room Xuan Hao had stayed in to take care of the spiritual herbs or other things he had left behind before a few servants from the servant quarters would come and clean up the place.

"She sure is excited about something… I just hope it doesn't result in any accidental explosions again…"

Muttering this to himself as he thought about a few other times Wan Qiu had been so excited about something in the past, the alchemy elder unconsciously sped up as he moved away from the location of Wan Qiu's alchemy room…

After leaving behind the Alchemy Hall, Xuan Hao decided to first go and visit the Formation Hall of the Flying Sword Sect.

The Formation Hall, completely different from the Alchemy Hall that was mostly empty. At least had a moderate number of disciples coming and going…

While not close to a place like the Blacksmithing Hall or Beast Tamers Stable that most of the disciples ended up choosing as their second profession. The Formation Hall could still be considered successful in gaining at least a dozen or so new members every year, compared to the Alchemy Hall that were happy when they got even a single disciple to join them…

This in turn, had also resulted in the Formation Hall itself being much larger than the Alchemy Hall, so as to accommodate the larger number of people who stayed there. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Still, the number of disciples who have a profession of sorts is still small compared to the disciples who chose to just focus solely on cultivation…

The main reason for this being the current sect master, Feng Chen, who was famous for being solely dedicated to his cultivation. Not spending even, a single second learning about professions and just focusing on improving his cultivation base.

The younger generation of the Flying Sword Sect highly admired their sect master for this and a lot of them were following in his footsteps, hoping to one day become a powerful Nascent Soul Realm Expert like him…

"Hah… Why could there not just be more disciples wanting to be like Elder Song among the younger generation? They already admire him anyway…"

Sighing to himself upon thinking about this, Xuan Hao landed a few dozen meters away from the Formation Hall. Not being discovered by the nearby disciples, due to a well-placed tree blocking his descent from view.

"Hm?"

The moment he began walking over in the direction of the Formation Hall, Xuan Hao clearly felt himself passing through some transparent barrier of sorts, as the temperature around him suddenly changed to become more comfortable.

"So, this is a formation…?"

Xuan Hao could not help but mutter to himself as he felt the qi between heaven and earth flowing in all sorts of different patterns around him. Ending up regulating the temperature inside the formation to room temperature.

The use was completely different from what he had experienced from formations elsewhere. One being the protective formation surrounding the Flying Sword Sect, while the other was the Realm Destruction Formation that he had experienced back in the secret realm.

Not really comparable to a formation that changed the temperature of the surrounding environment by a tiny bit…

"Greetings Elder, are you perhaps here for something…?"

Walking towards the entrance of the Formation Hall, Xuan Hao felt a bit surprised when he suddenly saw a relatively young disciples dressed in the robes belonging to an inner disciple appear in front of him.

"Yeah, I'm here to visit the Formation Hall's library to look up on a few formations…"

"The library… Want me to show you there elder?"

"Sure…"

Not knowing what the sudden pause after the library was about, Xuan Hao decided to just go along with it and accepted the inner disciple's kind intentions to show him the way. Even if he could just scan the area with his divine sense and instantly locate the library in question…

At the very least, the inner disciple in question did not seem to realize who he was and just presumed he was a normal elder.

"Hey, isn't that-"

"Yeah, is she here to try and enter the Formation Hall again…? How many times does this make, five? Seven?"

"Looks like there is an elder besides her as well… Maybe she managed to pass the test?"

Listening to what the surrounding disciples were saying, Xuan Hao quickly managed to find out that the inner disciple showing him over to the Formation Hall's library, was in fact someone who had tried to enter the Formation Hall for the past few years! Even delaying her own cultivation in order to spend more time on her attempts to pass the test for entering the Formation Hall…

The only thing that confused Xuan Hao, was the fact that the young disciple beside him had managed to fail the test to enter the Formation Hall…

After all, compared to the Alchemy Hall that had no test whatsoever and happily accepted anyone with open arms, the Formation Hall had at least some requirement for the disciples who wanted to enter.

It was just… The test was mostly just a formality and was not really supposed to bar any disciples from entering. Given that the disciple beside him even managed to fail such a test in the first place could be counted as an achievement of sorts…

No matter what, the Formation Hall would be more than happy to accept more disciple than just a dozen a year or so, as it would also mean that Elder Song would allocate more resources to them…

Just how bad did she do to continuously fail to enter the Formation Hall…?

Wondering this as he looked down on the young girl in question walking a bit in front of him, Xuan Hao could not help but grow curious.

The girl was ignoring the people talking around them, as she had moved slightly in front of him so as to lead the way, but Xuan Hao could clearly feel how nervous she was the moment she stepped through the entrance of the Formation Hall.

A few of the Formation Hall's elders also seemed to recognize the young girl, as they were about to walk over. Only to stop the moment they saw the person that was walking behind her.

Even if most of the disciples were not familiar with him and could not recognize him, there was no way that the elders did not know who he was!

"…"

About to walk over and greet him, Xuan Hao quickly signalled for the Formation Hall's elders to back away as he followed the young disciples deeper into the Formation Hall.

Slowly making their way through all sorts of different hallways before finally ending up at the entrance to the library.

It was only after standing at the entrance to the library that Xuan Hao realized the fact that the different hallways were a part of some sort of formation.

The realization both shocked and intrigued him at the same time. Given the fact that he had not noticed anything off before leaving the formation as someone in the Domain Lord Realm… There was also the case of the young disciple, who was not even a member of the Formation Hall knowing her way through such a formation in the first place-

"W-we are here!"

Coming to a stop in front of the entrance to the library of the Formation Hall, the young disciple nervously turned around as she informed him about their arrival.

"Is there something else…?" Seeing the young disciple staying around and even beginning to fidget with her hands. Evidently wanting to say something, Xuan Hao asked with a curious look on his face.

Chapter 309: Sect Mission

"W-would it be okay if I stayed during your time in the library?" nervously looking over at him while saying this, the young disciple began fidgeting even more with her hands before looking away from him.

"Sure… I don't have any reason to refuse, but why are you asking me whether you can stay around or not?" Looking over at the nervous young girl, Xuan Hao could not stop himself from asking as he found the current situation quite weird.

"N-normally I would not have a chance to enter the library… After all, I'm not a member of the Formation Hall…"

"I see… You are welcome to read as much as you can before I leave…"

Feeling a bit sympathetic towards the young girl, who wanted to learn about formations, Xuan Hao moved over towards a nearby bookshelf labelled with Beginner Formations.

Rustle~

Taking out a book labelled [Beginner Formations for Fledgling Formation Masters, Xuan Hao handed it over to the young girl before finding a few books to read himself. Not leaving the library, but instead deciding to stay around and allow the young girl some more time to read up on formations…

"Thank You!"

Seeing the book that Xuan Hao handed over to her, they young disciple quickly thanked him before eagerly sitting down and reading the book with her full attention. Not daring to even look away for even a second, in case the book in her hands disappeared. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Xuan Hao did not mind this in the slightest and instead just focused on the book in his hand explaining the foundations of how a formation was made and constructed.

"Hm?"

Just as Xuan Hao was getting absorbed into the book in front of him, the system decided to once again show up, showing off the fact that it had indeed become more active…

[Sect Mission: Help the young disciple trying to enter the Formation Hall]

[Description: They young inner disciple of your sect, Fang Yu, has been trying to enter the Formation Hall for the past two years without any success even with the close to non-existent test difficulty. Find out the reason and help her enter the Formation Hall.

[Reward: Qi Gathering Formation Blueprint, Strength of the Formation Hall will increase]

Sect mission…? The system not only wanted to increase the strength of his disciples, but also wanted to increase the strength of his sect?

Xuan Hao did not know how to react when he saw the new quest given out by the system. Even the rewards for completing the quest were something unfamiliar to him.

The Qi Gathering Formation was not something he really knew anything about, and he had no clue how useful it would be. The only thing he could do at the moment, was speculate that it was a formation that would help increase his cultivation speed.

The second part of the reward on the other hand, was way vaguer and harder to understand. Only saying that the strength of the Formation Hall would increase…

How would it increase?

The only reason Xuan Hao could think of, was that the increase in the Formation Hall's strength would have something to do with Fang Yu… Just that… She was currently only an inner disciple and was far from reaching a level where she would be able to increase the strength of the Formation Hall…

That is not to talk about the fact that she was someone who failed the entrance test of the Formation Hall two years straight, according to the system.

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao glanced over at Fang Yu for a short moment before returning his focus back to his book again. No matter what, he would first have to complete the knowledge related quest. Given that it had a time limit on it…

Like this, Xuan Hao, and the young inner disciple Fang Yu both sat down reading inside the library peaceful as the time outside passed by. The sun slowly reaching its peak in the sky.

"Hah!"

It's already been four hours! I wonder how close to completing the quest I am…

Stretching his arms as he thought about this, Xuan Hao observed his quest progress before a surprised expression appeared on his face.

[New Knowledge about Professions: 53/100]

[Alchemy 25/25]

[Formations: 28/??]

From the looks of things, him learning about formations was not limited to only 25% on the knowledge quest!

Smiling happily when he realized this, Xuan Hao could not help thinking about the reason why his progress with alchemy had been restricted and the only reason he could think of, was the fact that the system had already given him the knowledge and skill of an Artisan Alchemist.

The system wanted him to expand his knowledge on other professions than just alchemy… Maybe it even wanted him to learn every single profession out there at some point…

Thinking this, Xuan Hao suddenly felt a shiver run down his spine as he imagined just how much work it would take for him to learn so many different profession… Let alone the fact that the system would most likely want him to master said professions…

"No need to think about that now!" Shaking his head as he said this to himself, Xuan Hao stood up and was about to leave the library and find a place to practice some of the formations that he had read about, when he suddenly remembered Fang Yu, who was still completely absorbed by the book he had handed over to her earlier.

Even when he stood up and caused quite a bit of noise, Fang Yu did not seem to notice in the slightest. Remaining completely focused on the thick book in her hands.

"Hah… Guess I will just stay here and practice a few small-scale formations…"

Remembering the fact that Fang Yu would most likely have to leave the library if he left, Xuan Hao sat back down again and circulated his qi into a small beginner formation that increased the temperature by a few degrees in the area it covered.

The formation itself was not big at all. Only being around the size of his hand. Easily displaying one of the biggest charms of formations, their ability to easily scale up and down. From covering a house to covering his hand. Formations were easily able to scale up and down, as long as they had an ample supply of qi or were constructed with a medium taking the place of the formation master, like the pillars he had seen back in the secret realm.

Chapter 310: Feng Chen and Zu Fei's Return

Whoosh~

Moving the small formation around on the table easily, Xuan Hao began implementing different changes to it. Changing its purpose from just acting as a heat source to having a more interesting use.

The first change that he made to the formation was increasing the temperature inside of it by several hundred degrees by channelling fire qi into it. Making sure to isolate the area around the formation with his domain, just to make sure he did not end up burning down the library by mistake…

He did not really feel like explaining how he had ended up burning down the Formation Halls library on his first visit to Elder Song coming to ask for an explanation after the deed… From what he knew about Elder Song, Xuan Hao did not want to end up being the person who destroyed a part of the sect…

Thinking this, Xuan Hao quickly changed the formation back before he began to slowly experiment with it. Trying to change and shape it into all sorts of different forms, just to try and see how freely the formation could be changed around.

"There is no restriction whatsoever…" L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Muttering this to himself as the small temperature regulating formation in his hand changed into the shape of a horse before turning into a flower and then a small pagoda, Xuan Hao could not help but feel amazed at the sheer ease one could change the shape of a formation.

Maybe it's just because the formation is small…?

Whoosh!

Expanding the formation and once again trying to change its shape, Xuan Hao instantly discovered the difference.

The formation that was the size of his hand was easy to manipulate and shape as he pleased, while the formation covering the table and chair, he was sitting on, was impossible for him to change without feeling an enormous exhaustion strain coming from his soul!

"T-this!"

Feeling the strain on his soul with even a small change to the shape of the formation, Xuan Hao quickly stopped what he was doing, as the formation surrounding him quickly collapsed before there was no sign of it left.

The experience was simply too terrifying for him. The soul was after all the most important part of a cultivator and a mortal for that matter. Even the slightest injury might result in permanent damage to the soul.

Something that would lower the lifespan of normal mortals and prevent a cultivator from advancing onwards to the next realm. Forever stuck at whatever realm they got the injury at…

Xuan Hao did not really feel like he wanted to try and experiment with anything that could potentially cause an injury to his soul! That would at least have to wait until he found a way to safely do so and ensure that he would be able to recover just in case the worst thing ended up happening!

Looking over at his quest, Xuan Hao felt a wave of surprise wash over him upon seeing the quest being showing as completed.

The Formation part of it had even more question marks and even the main part of the profession knowledge part also had question marks replace the former number 53 that had been there just a few moments ago…

Did he perhaps just find out something incredibly important about formations…?

Xuan Hao could not help but feel excited when he thought about it, but quickly calmed down again.

After all, even if he knew that shaping a formation would put a strain on the soul, he had no way to test it out in practice at the moment. Unless he decided to risk injuring his soul…

"Hah…" Sighing to himself upon realizing this, Xuan Hao put the information to the back of his mind before choosing not to redeem the reward for the quest at the moment.

The library of the Formation Hall was not really a great location for that. At least he would wait until he had gotten back to his pavilion and found a quiet place to breakthrough without anyone disturbing him.

There was also the young inner disciple Fang Yu that he would have to help entering the Formation Hall according to the sect mission that the system had given him…

First and foremost, he would have to find out the reason why she had managed to fail the test to enter the Formation Hall for two years straight!

Rustle~

Standing up from his chair, Xuan Hao looked over in the direction of Fang Yu before making his way over towards the fully concentrated disciple, who didn't even notice when Xuan Hao was experimenting with formations earlier just a few dozen meters away from her.

"Hah! Finally, back again!"

At the same time Xuan Hao was about to attempt completing his first ever sect mission, Feng Chen and Zu Fei slowly appeared a few hundred meters away from the Flying Sword City. Exhaustion visible on both their faces as they dragged their completely drained bodies towards the entrance of the Flying Sword City.

"Who is that?"

"Maybe refugees coming from the central region? The collapse of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom really caused quite a large number of refugees to head towards the Flying Sword Sect and other nearby powers…"

"But why are they here? The Flying Sword Sect already designated several places for refugees to stay before stabilizing and finding out where they want to go after things calm down…"

"No idea… Maybe they got lost on the way and ended up here?"

Listening to the surrounding people looking over towards them filled with pity, both Feng Chen and Zu Fei suddenly realized their current state.

Exhausted, completely tattered robes. Making it hard to see that they were actually from the Flying Sword Sect… And finally, dirt and dried up blood making it hard for even the guards to recognize them…

"Hah… Why did we have to be so unlucky on our way back…"

Sighing full of sadness as she remembered what had transpired just after they managed to leave the Burning Mountain Range, Zu Fei could not help but feel a profound anger towards the people who caused them to end up like this…

Chapter 311: Bright Red and Unlucky Border Guards...

A few days before Feng Chen and Zu Fei arrived back at the Flying Sword Sect, both of them had just managed to make it out of the Burning Mountain Range. The only problem being the fact that they were not inside of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom, but instead another kingdom that was adjacent to the Burning Mountain Range like the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

This would have been fine and all if it was just a normal kingdom similar to the Heavenly Sky Kingdom… But they were not that lucky and had instead stumbled upon one of the stronger kingdoms under the Sky Empire with someone in the Domain Lord Realm in it!

"The Crystal Sky Kingdom… The only kingdom with a Domain Lord in it close to our Flying Sword Sect…" Showing a shocked expression on his face when he noticed the uniforms of the nearby border soldiers, Feng Chen could not help exclaiming in surprise.

Feng Chen didn't know about all the kingdoms with Domain Lords in the Sky Empire, but at the very least he knew about a few that were nearby. The Crystal Sky Kingdom being the closest, was therefore also the kingdom with a Domain Lord that he knew the most about!

"Who are you guys!? What are you doing here?"

Hearing the booming voice calling out from a small outpost located at the border between the Crystal Sky Kingdom and the Burning Mountain Range, Feng Chen could not help but feel a wave of fear roll over him.

The main reason for this was because he knew how intolerant the Crystal Sky Kingdom was to anyone at the Nascent Soul Realm daring to enter their kingdom without permission. Even if it was by accident, they would in most cases kill them if they did not have a sufficient backing…

The Crystal Sky Kingdom was strong and was a kingdom with someone in the Domain Lord Realm, but more importantly than that, it was a really small kingdom, and they had a lot of Nascent Soul Realm Experts… Just by numbers alone, they easily had a few hundred Nascent Soul Realm Experts, with most of the stationed around the border to prevent any unwelcome guest from entering.

Watching as the Nascent Soul Realm Expert that had called out to them made his way over, Feng Chen prepared to make a run for it as he secretly informed Zu Fei.

Whoosh!

In the distance, at least another five or so auras at the Nascent Soul Realm, ranging between the middle and later stages, could be felt making their way over towards them.

"Hah…"

Letting out a depressed sigh as he realized just how dangerous their situation would be, Feng Chen and Zu Fei both prepared to run back into the Burning Mountain Range to escape the Nascent Soul Realm Experts from the Crystal Sky Kingdom!

BOOM!

ROAR!

"Wha-what is that!?"

The guard coming over to meet them, along with the group of Nascent Soul Realm Experts making their way over to make sure their friend would be safe. All looked on with a shocked and terrified expression, as a bright red light suddenly appeared deep in the Burning Mountain Range. Followed by a terrifying roar that instantly caused all of them to fall weakly onto the ground. Feng Chen and Zu Fei were no different. Only capable of looking over in the direction of the bright light erupting from the depths of the Burning Mountain Range.

Time seemed to come to a halt as nobody, be it the guards at the Nascent Soul Realm, or Feng Chen and Zu Fei, were able to move for what felt like hours before they slowly began to regain movement again.

Still staring in the direction of the bright red light in the depths of the Burning Mountain Range, that only seemed to increase more with each passing second.

"Let's get out of here before they notice!" Hearing someone whispering into his ear, Feng Chen forced his vision away from the bright red light and looked over at Zu Fei urging him to leave.

"Indeed… We should not stay around for any longer. The event has most likely already attracted the Domain Lord of the Crystal Sky Kingdom…"

Nodding his head in agreement to what Zu Fei had said, Feng Chen and Zu Fei took advantage of the Nascent Soul Real border guard still having their full attention on the bright red light in the distance. Quietly making their way past them before heading back in the direction of the Flying Sword Sect.

Trying their best to avoid the guards along the border as they snuck through the Crystal Sky Kingdom.

Only when reaching the border of the Crystal Sky Kingdom and another neighbouring kingdom, did they have to make a run for it, as both of them charged forward through the border. Instantly alerting the Nascent Soul Realm Experts hiding along the border.

"Who are you!?"

"State your identity or we will attack!"

"They are spies! Kill them!"

Several Nascent Soul Realm Experts soon appeared to block them, but Feng Chen and Zu Fei could care less about fighting them.

Launching only a single attack to block the first wave of attacks before running straight past them. Escaping into the nearby kingdom.

"Hm? What is this…?"

The border guard on the other side, was only a group of soldiers at the Foundation Establishment Realm and a single person at the early stages of the Core Formation Realm. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Boom Boom Boom!

All he manged to see was several bright flashes of light heading straight past him, as explosions suddenly appeared left and right. Killing a few of his unlucky Foundation Establishment soldiers.

"W-we are under attack-"

The Core Formation Realm border guard did not manage to say anything more, as the bright flashes of light. Along with the explosions, had already disappeared. Only leaving behind a few dozen pits surrounding his army camp, so as to validate the fact that what he saw really happened…

Chapter 312: Unexpected Danger

Running away from the Nascent Soul Realm Experts from the Crystal Sky Kingdom, Feng Chen and Zu Fei soon managed to shake them off, as they were only around the first three stages to just having reached the fourth stage of the Nascent Soul Realm.

Just a bit weaker than Zu Fei who was at the fifth stage of the Nascent Soul Realm.

"Hah… Looks like we finally managed to shake them off!"

Collapsing down on the ground with an exhausted expression on her face, Zu Fei began recovering the qi she had used to increase her speed with her movement technique for the last few minutes of hectic running away from the border guards of the Crystal Sky Kingdom.

Even if it was only for a short period of time, she had to use up most of her qi reserves to make a large enough distance between them and their pursuers before she and Feng Chen could escape the range of their divine sense.

Divine sense was truly one of the most annoying things about sneaking past or escaping from someone in the Nascent Soul Realm…

"Haha! Just recover for now, I will keep an eye out for any possible enemies out there!" Laughing with a cheeky smile on his face upon seeing the exhausted Zu Fei, Feng Chen moved out of the small cave they had hidden in. Ignoring the trembling bear in the corner of the cave looking over towards both of them fearfully.

The outside of the cave was a relatively calm and peaceful forest that they had decided to hide in for a few hours until the border guards of the Crystal Sky Kingdom gave up chasing after them and returned back to their post.

After all, no matter how much they wanted to catch them, they would not be able to leave their post empty for too long…

Feng Chen and Zu Fei just had to remain hidden for a few hours before they would inevitably have to give up their chase and return to the Crystal Sky Kingdom once again…

Thinking about this, Feng Chen sat down in front of cave entrance and spread his divine sense out to cover as much of the surrounding environment that he could.

Finding a small village beside the normal forest they were hiding in, together with several animals without any cultivation.

Much like the bear currently shivering fearful in a corner of the cave that they borrowed from it…

The overall surroundings were nothing out of the ordinary, with the strongest person inside of the village only barely having reached the fourth stage of the Qi Condensation Realm. Not really something that would pose a threat to him or Zu Fei…

Time slowly passed and it was only after a day and night had passed that Zu Fei came out fully recovered and ready to go from the cave.

Seeing Zu Fei come out of the cave, Feng Chen stood up from his meditative position in front of the cave entrance.

"Let's get going! Those people from the Crystal Sky Kingdom should have already given up by now."

Nodding her head in agreement with what Feng Chen said, both of them soon left behind the peaceful and calm forest… Something that both of them would come to regret in the soon to be future…

Only a few moments later, at the border between the Burning Mountain Range and a kingdom, Feng Chen and Zu Fei could be seen running at full speed as several bright flashes of light could be seen to be moving closer towards them.

Boom!

A large explosion could suddenly be heard as both Feng Chen and Zu Fei desperately ran away from the origin of the explosion in question. Not daring to look back, they already had some idea about where it came from, as even the remnants of energy left in the shockwave was more than enough to launch both of them into a nearby mountain from the Burning Mountain Range.

Bang!

Crashing into the mountain side, Feng Chen managed to recover relatively quickly from the impact, while Zu Fei could barely get up after the impact. Forcing Feng Chen to carry her, as he ran away at his fastest speed possible while carrying Zu Fei in his arms.

BOOM!

Yet another explosion could be heard, as Feng Chen managed to see a giant ball of fire engulf an entire city out of the corner of his eye. Reducing the city and everything within to rubble.

The sheer heat of the explosion spread outwards and began burning everything 10 kilometers away from the city that the giant ball of fire had landed and exploded.

ROAR!

A loud roar echoed out from behind him, as several explosions soon followed.

"How did we even encounter that thing again!?"

Feng Chen could not help but mutter this to himself in a depressed tone, as he clearly realized the identity of the demon beast behind the roar.

It was the demon beast that the now dead Sect Master of the Raging Flame Sect, had woken up back at the volcano in the Burning Mountain Range and also the demon beast that had paralyzed both him and Zu Fei at the border of the Crystal Sky Kingdom!

Currently the demon beast in question was fighting someone, most likely the Domain Lord from the Crystal Sky Kingdom.

However, this was not the main reason for Feng Chen and Zu Fei's bad situation. No, it was instead the fact that? both of them were making their way over towards both of them while fighting each other along the way.

Now, what could be the reason for them coincidently moving towards the two of them…?

"This bloody fruit!"

Feng Chen could not help but exclaim in a depressed voice, as he looked at the bright red fruit flying over towards him and Zu Fei.

No matter what direction he ran in, the bright red fruit would follow him for some reason and no matter what direction the fruit went. The fight between the two powerhouses would soon follow…

How do we even get away…?

Thinking this as he looked at the fruit approaching him, Feng Chen could not help but feel yet another wave of depression wash over him before executing his movement technique once again, in a vain attempt at outrunning the flying bright red fruit following him from behind…

Chapter 313: A Way Out!

Boom Bom Boom!

Hearing the explosions behind him growing closer and closer with each passing second, Feng Chen decided that running along the border of the Burning Mountain Range was not a good option for him and would also end up implicating a lot of innocent mortals that were unlucky enough to live in a town or city near the border of their kingdom… L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Whoosh!

With this in mind, Feng Chen immediately made his way into the Burning Mountain Range. Hoping that he would be able to shake off the red fruit flying after him and the two powerhouses fighting each other just behind the red fruit.

Bang!

Just as Feng Chen was about to rush into a cave entrance leading down underground and try and hide there, a large boulder flew over from behind him and landed directly in the centre of the cave entrance, causing it to come crashing down along with the cave behind it. Sealing off the entrance to whatever underground tunnel network might have been present below there in the past.

"Damnit!"

Not able to do anything other than curse loudly, Feng Chen did not dare stay around for too long before turning to run in another direction with no set location in mind, just trying to escape from the red fruit and terrifying experts following behind.

Even worse. Now that he was carrying the already unconscious Zu Fei, he had an even harder time moving through the dense foliage that covered the surroundings he currently found himself in. Not that he was going to question why a jungle had suddenly appeared below and in between the mountains of the Burning Mountain…

All he could do, was hope that the trees would at the very least help making it hard for that damnable red floating fruit to find him… If he was lucky, one of the powerhouses following behind him might even be able to grab hold of the red fruit and take their fight somewhere that did not involve him or Zu Fei…

However, this was far too much to hope for as a bright red light could soon be seen following him from above the treetops. Completely unaffected by the lack of visibility.

How would a fruit even see him in the first place…?

"Hah…" Sighing loudly upon realizing that he had forgotten the fact that the thing chasing him was a fruit and not a person caused Feng Chen to rethink his plans.

The fruit was obviously following him because of something, he just had to find out what and get rid of it if possible!

"Commander! Someone is approaching us from the south, they will show up in less than a minute! Estimated strength should at least be at the Domain Lord Realm!"

A short distance from where Feng Chen and Zu Fei were, a large ship was floating mid-air above the tall mountains of the Burning Mountain Range.

"Hm… Prepare for combat, I will go out and see who it is…" Inside the commander room of the floating ship, a middle-aged woman with a stern look etched onto her face and a scar running straight across it informed the captain who had just walked over and informed her about someone approaching them.

Glancing over in the direction of a large round table in the middle of the command room to get a grasp of the situation. The commander could not help but marvel at the wonder of the artifact that was the table in question.

The entire table was lit up as the light formed a three-dimensional map of the surrounding environment covering an extremely wide area around them, way more than what her divine sense would ever be able to cover!

And on that table, two large red dots were approaching towards their location.

Narrowing her eyes even further upon seeing the how large the red dots on the table were, the middle-aged woman frowned slightly as she knew very well that the bigger the dots were, the stronger the person would be…

At least that was all she knew about the weird artifact that was the result of countless formations being merged together into one.

"Looks like this will be more difficult than first expected… Captain, change of plans! Prepare to retreat! This is not something you will be able to deal with!"

"C-commander? Are you sure…?"

The captain could not help but ask in a confused voice. No matter what, he was also someone in the Domain Lord Realm… Just how strong were the two approaching them!? Thinking about this, the commander could not help but shiver as a sense of fear began to take root, but this fear soon dispersed when he looked over at his commander again.

"Yes, make sure that you are ready to retreat at any point in time and keep a distance! Remember that it's not only us here at the moment!" Saying this, the commander motioned over towards the large group of people moving around the command room.

"I understand…" Nodding his head, the captain did not say anything more as he began informing the rest of the crew about what was going on.

The commander on the other hand, did not say anything more upon seeing what the captain did and instead left the command room before leaving the floating ship that slowly began to move away. Leaving her floating mid-air as she looked towards the south. Waiting for the two approaching experts!

Back on the ground, Feng Chen had already noticed the flying ship in the distance through a few gaps in the treetops and even though he did not recognize the emblem on the side of the flying ship, Feng Chen knew very well that this might be the chance he was looking for!

If the expert that owned the flying ship saw the red fruit flying after him, Feng Chen was certain that the expert would go after it and prevent it from following him!

After all, the two powerhouses behind him very clearly wanted the red fruit, so it should be a precious spiritual herb of some sort!

Thinking this, Feng Chen used the last bit of his qi reserves to speed up even further as he dashed through the thick foliage while carrying the unconscious Zu Fei at a speed surpassing his past top speed. Maybe even comparable to a Domain Lord flying through the sky!

Chapter 314: Escape from the Red Fruit!

"Hm? What is that…?"

Having made her way out from the floating ship, the commander stood mid-air and looked over towards the south, when a bright red fruit shining brightly suddenly came flying over towards her. The two experts she had been on the lookout for soon followed as they appeared to be chasing after the red fruit. Fighting each other along the way.

"A Transcendent Grade spiritual herb!?" Realizing what the red fruit floating through the air was the moment she saw it, a brief hint of greed flashed through the commander's eyes as she soon focused her attention back onto the two experts moving over towards the herb while still locked in a fight with each other.

"If I could just grab it and run away… As long as I make it back, I should be safe…" Thinking about how she should proceed, the commander came up with an idea as she turned back towards the flying ship slowly moving into position a short distance away from her, as the captain was prepared to leave at any moment.

"Captain! Leave at the fastest speed possible and make your way back! I will catch up with you later!"

"Yes, Commander!"

Having already seen the red fruit floating towards them, the captain also had an idea as to what grade the herb was and understood how beneficial it would be if they managed to grab a hold of it.

Whoosh!

So, without wasting any time, the flying ship turned around a sped into the distance at its fastest speed possible. Easily surpassing the speed of an ordinary Domain Lord!

Seeing that the flying ship was retreating, the commander no longer waited and immediately moved over towards the red fruit.

Bang!

Grabbing hold of it as she felt a tremendous impact from the red fruit trying desperately to escape her grasp, but it was all to no avail, as the commander soon pulled the red fruit directly into her interspatial ring before turning around and flying away as fast as possible in the opposite direction of the two other Domain Lords approaching from the distance.

ROAR!

"How dare you steal my treasure!"

One loud beastly roar and an angry human roar could be heard as the demon beast and human expert stopped fighting each other upon seeing the red fruit being taken away in front of them.

Fwoosh!

Crackle~

Two large scale attacks were immediately launched towards the fleeing commander, as she was forced to come to a halt as a large barrier made of yellow qi surrounded her in the form of a giant lotus.

The attack from the demon beast and human seemed to have momentarily fused together, as both of them flew over and landed on the giant yellow lotus barrier of the commander.

One attack a fire-based attack, while the other was a lightning-based attack.

BOOM!

The fire and lighting from the two attacks perfectly complemented each other as a terrifying explosion occurred the moment the two partially merged attacks came in contact with the giant yellow lotus that surrounded and protected the commander.

Fwoosh~

Part of the attack was directly negated by the giant yellow lotus, as it instead ended up raining down on the treetops of the trees below. Instantly causing a forest fire to begin spreading rapidly and uncontrollably.

Crack!

The yellow lotus surrounding the commander just barely held up against the attack, as the person in question did not dare stay around any longer and wait for her two opponents to catch up with her, as she quickly turned around to escape again before another combined attack was launched towards her.

Whoosh~

ROAR!

"Come back here!"

Watching the commander having survived their attack now escaping, both the demon beast and human Domain Lord did not seem to care about anything else as they quickly chased after her. One angrily screaming all sorts of different profanities towards her, while the other was roaring loudly in what could only presumed to be not so kind words in whatever language that the demon beast was using…

Back on the ground, Feng Chen did not dare to stay around after he saw the woman who had appeared from the flying ship grabbing hold of the red fruit.

BOOM!

Barely making it out of the way as a terrifying explosion soon echoed out behind him as flames began to consume the jungle environment around him.

Boom boom boom

Several explosions soon followed after that, but each one grew fainter than the last. Signalling the fact that the source of the explosions was moving away from him and Zu Fei!

"Finally…"

Making his way out of the area affected by the forest fire, Feng Chen exhaustedly collapsed besides a few large rocks on a random mountainside. Gently laying Zu Fei down on the ground beside him, as he began to recover from the wounds, he had accumulated from the chase earlier.

Even if the two following behind him had no idea he was there in the first place, they still injured him and even knocked Zu Fei unconscious!

Rustle~

A few minutes passed by before Zu Fei began to shift around on the cold ground. Slowly opening her eyes as she cautiously began scanning her surroundings. Only calming down upon seeing Feng Chen sitting just next to her with her eyes closed.

"What happened- Ah! Why are we both covered in ash?! Even our robes are completely ruined!"

About to ask Feng Chen what had happened while she had been unconscious, Zu Fei quickly realized their current condition! Both of them looked no better than two beggars! No, even beggars would be in a better situation than they currently were when it came to appearance!

"Calm down, I managed to get away, we will just recover for a short time before moving back towards the sect… We will clean up after we return to the sect. After all, we might risk running into some random expert again if we take too long… At least we should not be too far away from the sect." After saying this, Feng Chen closed his eyes and began recovering his qi reserves again.

Zu Fei could not say anything in return and sat up before she began recovering her qi reserves as well. No matter what, she would have to take a long warm bath after she got back!L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Chapter 315: Fang Yu's Difficulty...

After travelling through the Burning Mountain Range for another few days in their beggar like appearances, Feng Chen and Zu Fei finally arrived at the entrance of the Flying Sword City… Only to hear the people about to enter the city talk about them like a random group of refugees from some recent war in that caused the Heavenly Sky Kingdom to fall apart-

"Wait… Refugees from the collapsing Heavenly Sky Kingdom!?"

Zu Fei stopped as she looked over at the group of people looking over towards her filled with pity, as she realized what their words meant. The Heavenly Sky Kingdom had collapsed! And she had only been gone for a few weeks at most!

"So, the Heavenly Sky Kingdom actually ended up collapsing… I wonder if that old ancestor died as well…" Muttering this with a relatively calm expression on his face, Feng Chen was not that surprised over the fact that the Heavenly Sky Kingdom had ended up collapsing.

After all, he still vividly remembered the fact that Shu Yao had entered some sort of deal with them to not help the Heavenly Sky Kingdom. In return, the Azure Sky Kingdom would leave after they finished off the Heavenly Sky Kingdom.

Feng Chen really wanted to rush back to the sect and find out if the Azure Sky Kingdom had really left the central region of the Heavenly Sky Kingdom…

"Who are you and why have you come to the Flying Sword City? Refugees should-"

Hearing the voice from one of the guards at the entrance to the Flying Sword City, Feng Chen did not even bother answering him.

Whoosh!

Instead, he just showed off his sect master token before walking past the completely stunned guard together with Zu Fei. Disappearing from sight before the other guards had even managed to react.

There was no way he would stay around after having revealed his identity, or at the very least showed some proof that he was connected to the Sect Master in some way…

At the very least, the guards at the gate would not come running after him and Zu Fei as they dragged their still exhausted bodies back towards their pavilions to freshen up and recover from some of the deeper injuries they had received along the way and were unable to heal in a short period of time.

Thumb thumb~

Back at the library of the Formation Hall, Xuan Hao was slowly making his way over towards Fang Yu, when the sound of footsteps suddenly echoed out from the direction of the entrance to the library.

"Hm?"

Fang Yu, who had been completely focused on the book in her hand just a second ago. Instantly looked over towards the entrance of the library just behind her. Not noticing Xuan Hao who was only a few meters away from her at this point.

"Elder-"

"No need to speak so formally my child, I heard you managed to make to sneak your way back into the library by borrowing the help from another elder coming here to read!"

Calling out to the tall elderly woman who appeared from the entrance of the library, Fang Yu happily got up and greeted her before the person in question interrupted her greeting.

Squeeze~

Walking over to Fang Yu, the tall elderly woman hugged her tightly with a happy smile on her face. Almost lifting Fang Yu off the floor of the library in the process.

"G-grandma... C-can't… Breath!"

Trying her best to get out of the elderly lady's tight hug, Fang Yu could only helplessly beg for her to stop, as her cultivation at the Foundation Establishment Realm was rendered completely useless before the elderly woman.

"Hmph, fine! Is this perhaps the elder who you followed inside-!"

Reluctantly letting go of Fang Yu, who quickly escaped a few meters away from her, the elderly woman soon turned over in the direction of Xuan Hao standing a short distance away from her and Fang Yu.

"Elder Xuan!? It's a pleasure to meet you Elder Xuan, I have long since heard about you from the other elders!" Showing a shocked expression for a short moment after recognizing Xuan Hao, the elderly woman quickly greeted him respectfully under the shocked gaze of Fang Yu.

From what she knew, she had never seen her grandmother act so respectfully towards anyone other than the Sect Master and the Core Elders! Even those older elders at the Peak of the Core Formation Realm did not receive such respect from her!

Given that she had already seen what the Sect Master looked like, it could only mean that the elder she had followed inside the Formation Hall was one of the Core Elders!

"No need for the formalities, I am just here to read up on a few things…"

Waving his hand as he said this, Xuan Hao soon turned over towards Fang Yu standing to the side before continuing.

"Now that I have you here, I heard quite a bit about the child over there and was wondering why she have not been able to enter the Formation Hall. After all, given how dedicated to formations she is, I highly doubt she would be able to fail the simple test that the Formation Hall set up…"

"…"

"Is there perhaps some other reason as to why she could not enter the Formation Hall…?"

Seeing the hesitation and silence from the elderly woman, Xuan Hao could not help but grow curious.

From the sect mission, Xuan Hao clearly knew that there was some sort of problem with the entrance test of the Formation Hall and Fang Yu, but he still had no clue as to what it was exactly.

"Ehm… Elder Xuan… Do you perhaps know what the test for entering the Formation Hall is…?"

Looking over towards Fang Yu who had nervously steeped forward, Xuan Hao could only shake his head in denial.

The test that one was required to complete before entering the Formation Hall was a complete mystery to him. At this point in time, the only thing he knew about the test was the fact that it was an extremely easy test that disciples would normally be able to easily get through as long as they put in some effort in learning about formations. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

"I see… The test for entering the Formation Hall is a simple one that requires the disciple to master three different beginner formations. One for lowering the temperature of the area it covers, while the second increases the temperature. These two formations can normally be learned within only a few days of practice.

The last one is the most difficult and is a formation that can continuously keep a small fire burning. This formation is also the one that takes the longest to learn and it takes a week to learn it and in some rare cases, it might even take an entire two weeks to learn…

I… Have still not been able to use the last formation after two years…" Stopping for a moment when her explanation reached the end, Fang Yu could not help but blush from embarrassment upon mentioning the fact that she had been unable to learn the last among the three formations even after two years of hard work.

Watching Fang Yu as she blushed from embarrassment, Xuan Hao could not help but feel shocked after learning the reason why she had not yet managed to enter the Formation Hall yet and at the same time a sense of helplessness washed over him.

How was he supposed to help her successfully pass the test and enter the Formation Hall if she had already been stuck learning the same formation over the past two years without any progress…

And for some reason, Xuan Hao felt like the system would most likely not consider the quest to be completed if he just used his status to forcefully have her enter the Formation Hall.

"Hm…"

Thinking about a way to help out Fang Yu and allow her to enter the Formation Hall, Xuan Hao inevitably looked over towards the tall elderly woman who had been called grandma by Fang Yu just a few seconds earlier.

Though, both of them do not look like they are related…

Not to be rude to Fang Yu or anything along that line, but she was really short for her age…

"Elder Xuan…? "

Seeing Xuan Hao looking over at her, the elderly woman could not help but ask in a curious tone.

"Ah… It's nothing, I was just wondering if… your grandchild? Would be willing to learn a bit from me given that we were fated to meet-"

"No problem, no problem! She is more than willing-"

"S-sorry for my grandmother's rude behaviour, I hope you can forgive her as she was just excited…" Before Xuan Hao even managed to finish his first ever attempt at sounding like some experienced scam- fortune teller, the elderly woman interrupted him with an excited expression on her face before her granddaughter jumped in and stopped her. Quickly apologising on her behave.

"No worries at all, I don't mind it! Seeing as it has already gotten quite late outside, I will be taking my leave for today. Show up in front of my pavilion at dawn tomorrow and we will look over your problem."

Waving his hand in an attempt to calm down both the grandmother and granddaughter, Xuan Hao decided that it would be a good time to take his leave.

"Y-yes!"

Calming down a bit after hearing Xuan Hao, Fang Yu quickly agreed with him.

"Great, then I will see you tomorrow at dawn!"

Whoosh~

Smiling kindly at Fang Yu after hearing her agree, Xuan Hao turned around and left the library of the Formation Hall before either of the two could say anything.

Chapter 316: Fluffy Cloud Café

Leaving the Formation Hall, Xuan Hao made his way back towards his pavilion.

Walking instead of flying back, as he wanted to take things a bit slower now that he had managed to complete the knowledge related quest from the system.

Other than that, Xuan Hao also wanted to see what the disciples from the Flying Sword Sect were doing on a day-to-day basis and maybe get some ideas as to what his own disciples might be doing when he was not teaching them…

All in all, Xuan Hao had never really spent much time outside of his pavilion ever since entering the Flying Sword Sect, so most he was unfamiliar with most of the Flying Sword Sect!

"Hey, I heard that a new restaurant just opened up in the Flying Sword City!"

"Really? Is it special or something?"

"Yeah, I heard that it was called Fluffy Cloud Café. It's a quite famous chain that exist even outside the Sky Empire. According to some rumours, a café can easily be found anywhere on the Ewaria Continent!"

"Hm?" Walking along the path leading away from the Formation Hall, Xuan Hao suddenly heard two nearby elders talking excitedly with each other about a new café opening up in the Flying Sword City.

"Fluffy Cloud Café… That is quite a cute name for a café and one that have quite some background…" Muttering this to himself, Xuan Hao could not help but grow curious about the new café opening up in the Flying Sword City.

After all, if it was a café that had the ability to spread across the Sky Empire and maybe even beyond that, it should at the very least have some sort of backing.

"Looks like I will have to pay a visit to the Fluffy Cloud Café…"

Smiling a bit to himself, Xuan Hao changed direction and moved towards the entrance of the Flying Sword Sect leading directly into the Flying Sword City.

He was in no hurry to return to his pavilion and redeem the reward from the quest. After all, he did not want to just spend all his time focusing on cultivation and improving his strength…

In the first place, he wanted to spend his time without stressing over improving his cultivation base and reaching a higher realm. Relaxing at a café with a good snack and a cup of tea would be a good change of pace.

No matter what, he should not forget that the reason he wanted to become strong in the first place was being able to live a relaxing and peaceful life without any disturbances.

Maybe when he got strong enough, he could settle down and set up a family. At least for now, that was far in the future… After all, it would require him to find a wife first and…

Shaking his head at the thought of actually setting up a family, Xuan Hao could not help but smile wryly to himself.

"Hah… Maybe I should just return to the pavilion and cultivate…" Stopping his thoughts before they began to wander into a not so safe direction, Xuan Hao's divine sense spread out in all directions around him. Instantly covering both the Flying Sword Sect and the Flying Sword City.

"That should be it…"

Finding the location of the Fluffy Cloud café, Xuan Hao directly disappeared from the road he had been standing on just a moment ago before directly reappearing in front of the Fluffy Cloud Café within seconds.

Whoosh!

For such a short distance, Xuan Hao could almost appear instantaneously! Even if it was not teleportation, it was close to the same thing…

Appearing discreetly in front of the Fluffy Cloud Café, Xuan Hao was shocked by the large group of people that had gathered inside of the café. Quickly using his domain to obscure his appearance, so as to not be recognized.

Mainly consisting of disciples and a few elders from the Flying Sword Sect, the people gathered inside the Fluffy Cloud Café all had an excited expression on their face as they ate all sorts of different kinds of food.

From light snacks, to some even eating several large cakes all by themselves in a corner of the café…

Overall, the Fluffy Cloud Café served mostly cakes and other light snacks like a small fruit platter with a few apples in the shape of cute rabbits and other animals. Some even mixing several different fruits together into the shape of small and cute demon beasts showing off a furious expression that just made them look even cuter…

"Hello! What can I get you?"

"Ah… Is there something you would recommend?"

Unknowingly having made his way inside the café, Xuan Hao was faced with a waitress that had come over to ask him.

"Hm… I would personally recommend the Fluffy Cloud, it's by far the best thing we have! Though it does cost three spirit stones…"

"I will take it! Get me a cup of any tea you would recommend as well; just keep the rest." L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

Taking out four spirit stones before handing them over to the waitress who happily took them, Xuan Hao was soon guided over to a small table with a view of the streets of the Flying Cloud City just outside.

Sitting down as the waitress disappeared into what he could only assume was the location of the kitchen.

"Here is your tea, sir!"

A few minutes passed before the waitress returned with a cup of tea and a small plate with what he could only assume was the Fluffy Cloud that she had recommend him to try out.

"Thank You."

Nodding his head as the waitress put down the small plate along with the tea in front of him before disappearing in the direction of another customer, Xuan Hao looked outside at the people passing by while slowly sipping on the tea.

"Jasmine tea? This is my first time trying it after coming here…" Feeling a bit nostalgic as he drank the tea, Xuan Hao closed his eyes to appreciate the taste for a short moment.

Jasmine tea had always been one of his favourites and now he had the opportunity to taste it again after so long…

"I wonder what the Fluffy Cloud will taste like." Curiously looking down at the small fluffy cloud like object that seemingly floated just above the small plate, Xuan Hao put down his cup of tea as he picked up a small fork laying at the edge of the plate before poking into the fluffy cloud.

Pfff~

The moment Xuan Hao poked into the fluffy cloud, a small stream of hot air escaped as the fluffy cloud deflated and collapsed down onto the small plate.

Feeling even more curious about the food of sorts in front of him, Xuan Hao slowly picked up a small amount of the now gooey hot substance on his small plate before eating it.

"This is… Interesting…"

Not knowing how to describe the taste of the fluffy cloud with words, Xuan Hao was completely unfamiliar with what he was tasting. The only way he could describe it, would be some kind of vanilla related dessert…

Like this, time slowly passed by with Xuan Hao enjoying the weird yet tasty fluffy cloud with a cup of jasmine tea.

By the time Xuan Hao stood up and prepared to leave the Fluffy Cloud Café, the sun had already begun to go down as the moon was beginning to rise.

Looking around himself, Xuan Hao saw that the Fluffy Cloud Café was still bustling with activity. The only difference being the customers themselves. From most of the people being disciples of the Flying Sword Sect, to it mostly consisting of people from the elderly generation. Elders of the Flying Sword Sect being among the most dominant…

It was a good idea to hide my identity before coming here. Though I do wonder why the elders are always hanging out in somewhere in the Flying Sword City… Perhaps they don't have enough to do? Maybe I should inform Elder Song about this, he always seems to need more people to help him out…

Thinking about this as he looked over at the large gathering of Flying Sword Sect Elders inside of the Fluffy Cloud Café, Xuan Hao quietly left the Fluffy Cloud Café.

At the same time in a corner of the Fluffy Cloud Café, three elders from the Flying Sword Sect suddenly shivered.

"Huh…? Why do I suddenly feel something bad is going to happen?"

"You as well? I suddenly felt a shiver go down my spine for some reason, perhaps something bad is really going to happen soon…"

"Both of you calm down, there is no way something bad will happen just because of that! Aren't we going to merge with the Spring Flower Sect soon? And don't forget the fact that Elder Xuan Is rumoured to have reached the Domain Lord Realm! How can something bad happen to us so suddenly without any reason!?"

Discussing about the sudden feeling of danger among themselves, two of the elders were interrupted by a third one as he reasoned with them.

"Hah… Guess there is no arguing with that Old Double D…"

"True, Old Double D is indeed more reasonable than us two…"

Shaking their heads as they teased the elder who calmed them down, the elder in question did not seem to take to it so kindly as he angrily looked at the two other elders.

"IT'S DEMON DEVOURER!"

"Haha, Yeah, yeah~ If you say so~"

"Haha!"

Ignoring the loud? and angry voice that caught the attention of everyone inside the Fluffy Cloud Café, the other two elders just laughed teasingly before the group soon resumed chatting together like they had earlier, as the night slowly grew darker outside.

Chapter 317: Anxious Fang Yu

Returning back to his pavilion, Xuan Hao checked in on Bai Ning and Zhi Ruo. Only to find out that Bai Ning had already gone to sleep for the night, while Zhi Ruo was still awake in her room.

Sensing the presence of the two of them, Xuan Hao did not go and wake up Bai Ning or disturbed Zhi Ruo and instead just walked back to the spot outside his pavilion that he had cultivated the day before.

"I really wonder if I will advance as quickly as last night…"

Feeling both curious and excited upon thinking about how far he had managed to progress in only a single night, Xuan Hao decided to with redeeming his quest reward and see if he could breakthrough to the third stage of the Domain Lord Realm on his own.

After all, he would really feel like he wasted the opportunity given by the system to breakthrough if he could do it by himself… Rather wait one day and see if he could reach the third stage of the Domain Lord Realm by himself, than use the chance given by the system!

With this in mind, Xuan Hao slowly sat down outside and began cultivating with the moon above shinning down on him from above as the night slowly passed quietly. The Flying Sword Sect having already begun to quiet down, as most of the disciples and elders returned to their own quarters to cultivate or sleep…

Though most of the elders were most likely still out and about in the Flying Sword City…

"Hm? Nothing…?" Standing up as he watched the sun slowly rise over the mountains surrounding the Flying Sword Sect in the distance, Xuan Hao could not help but feel a bit disappointed as he felt no real improvement to his cultivation like he had yesterday.

"Maybe it had to do with something else… Like the moon or stars…?"

Muttering this to himself as he began thinking about what might have been the cause for his sudden increase in cultivation speed, Xuan Hao could not wait to go and find out if that night was special in some way…

Standing up from his spot overlooking the main part of the Flying Sword Sect below him, Xuan Hao suddenly sensed someone moving up his mountain and towards his pavilion.

"Fang Yu?"

Immediately recognizing the person moving up his mountain so early in the morning, Xuan Hao quickly remembered that he had indeed told her to come up and meet him in front of his pavilion at dawn the next day.

Whoosh~

Deciding to not stand around, Xuan Hao directly made his way over towards the entrance of his pavilion. Arriving a little earlier than Fang Yu as he watched her run up the last part of the way up the mountain without even showing the slightest sign of exhaustion.

"I see that you made it on time!" The sun had barely risen, and Xuan Hao had honestly not expected for her to show up the moment that the sun appeared.

Looking over at the fully awake Fang Yu standing in front of him full of energy, Xuan Hao could not help but nod approvingly towards her. No matter what, she was definitely showing off her determination to enter the Formation Hall for all to see…

Even Xuan Hao could not help but feel a bit more determined to help her get through the entrance test for the Formation Hall and officially enter…

A few hours earlier when the sun had still yet to rise, Fang Yu was anxiously pacing back and forth inside of a small courtyard as she kept looking over towards the east where the sun would rise.

Waiting for the first rays of light to appear over the tall mountains surrounding the Flying Sword Sect before she would make her way over towards Xuan Hao's pavilion.

"Fang Yu… Are you still awake at this time? Didn't I tell you to get some sleep and be fully rested for when you meet Elder Xuan later today...? Even if you have reached the Foundation Establishment Realm and can go a few days without sleep, you still have to rest your head!"

"Grandma…"

Calling out pitifully as she dashed over towards the person who had just entered her courtyard, Fang Yu did not hold back in the slightest as she hugged her tightly. Fully displaying how nervous and anxious she was to the old lady.

"Eh? Not so against hugging me now?" Smiling upon seeing Fang Yu act all spoilt with her as she tried her best to hold back her laughter, Fang Yu's Grandma hugged her in return as she waited for a few minutes until she calmed down.

"Grandma… D-do you really think that Elder Xuan can help me…?" Turning to look up at the old lady after calming down, Fang Yu could not hold herself back. Asking the question that had been stuck in her mind ever since Xuan Hao had told her that he would help solve her problem and help her clear the entrance test for the Formation Hall. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

No matter what, she had been stuck at the same formation for over two years at this point in time. Even if Xuan Hao was a Core Elder, she still felt doubtful as to whether he could really help her master the formation she had struggled with…

"Haha, you are worrying about this child? You have to remember that a Core Elder is someone in the Nascent Soul Realm! And there are even some rumours floating around among the elders that Elder Xuan reached the Domain Lord Realm above the Nascent Soul Realm! So, I don't think you have to worry so much about it…"

Chuckling a bit upon hearing what Fang Yu worried about, the old lady quickly reassured her.

"Domain Lord Realm…?"

Not knowing much about what realm came after the Nascent Soul Realm, Fang Yu felt a bit reassured after knowing how strong his cultivation was… At least he should be quite skilled when it came to formations, he had after all come to visit the Formation Hall and had even recommend a really good book to her…

Thinking about all of this, Fang Yu slowly grew more confident in Xuan Hao and felt that he might really be able to help her complete the Formation Hall's entrance test once and for all!

"Thank you, grandma! I will get some sleep before the sun rises!"

"Sure~ I will wake you up in time, so you don't have to worry about it!"

Seeing Fang Yu rush back into her room to get some much-needed sleep, the old lady smiled happily as she sat down in the Fang Yu's courtyard and began cultivating.

There were still a few hours until the sun rose, and she would have to spend that time on something…

Chapter 318: Arriving at Dawn

After getting a few hours of sleep, Fang Yu was awoken by her grandmother as she quickly gave her thanks to the old lady before rushing out of her courtyard in the direction of the different mountains where the elders of the Flying Sword Sect resided.

Running through the Flying Sword Sect on her way over towards the location of Xuan Hao's pavilion, Fang Yu suddenly remembered the fact that she had no idea what mountain his pavilion was located on… If she made a mistake, she might end up walking up the wrong Core Elders Mountain.

Not really something she wanted to happen, as trespassing in a core area of the Flying Sword Sect would end with her being punished to some degree. At that point she would not be able to reach Xuan Hao's pavilion at dawn… Worst case scenario, she could even end up getting expelled from the Flying Sword Sect!

"Greetings Elder! Do you perhaps know where Elder Xuan's pavilion is located?" Seeing an elder coming back from a night out in the Flying Sword City, Fang Yu did not shy away from walking over and asking him.

"Hm? Elder Xuan? Might I ask why you are looking for Elder Xuan so early in the morning?"

Seeing an inner disciple suddenly appear in front of him and ask about one of the Core Elders, the elder did not answer immediately and instead asking about her intentions. Clearly not willing to just share the information with her if she was just some disciple looking for one of the Core Elders in a hope to be accepted as a personal disciple…

Over the past few days, a few of the disciples should have already learned about the fact that Xuan Hao had reached the Domain Lord Realm and it was not his first time that he had been approached by a disciple who asked about which mountain among the ones belonging to the Core Elders that Xuan Hao was living on… Even if they knew that going there could result in punishment and in the worst case being expelled from the Flying Sword Sect!

However even with all of this, some disciples would still try and approach the Core Elders from time to time… Though in most cases, the elders who had reached the Peak of the Core Formation Realm like himself suffered the most from disciples coming to try and become personal disciples…

After all, it was more likely for them to become the personal disciple of someone in the Core Formation Realm compared to a Core Elder in the Nascent Soul Realm…

"I was asked to visit his pavilion at dawn, but I have no idea where his pavilion is even located in the first place…" Not knowing about the thoughts that was going through the elder's mind, Fang Yu did not hide anything as she answered his question truthfully.

Narrowing his eyes as he scanned over Fang Yu for a short moment, the elder soon let out a small sigh as he answered her. At the very least, he could tell that Fang Yu had been speaking the truth when he asked her why she was asking about the location for Elder Xuan's pavilion.

"It's the one to the right of the Sect Master's Mountain, you should at least know where that is located…"

"Yes, I know! Thank you for the help, Elder!"

Hearing the location of Xuan Hao's pavilion, Fang Yu smiled happily as she quickly thanked the elder before turning around to run in the direction of Xuan Hao's pavilion.

"Why would Elder Xuan ask for this little girl to come visit him? Is he perhaps taking in another disciple or just helping a troubled disciple with something?"

Muttering this to himself as he watched Fang Yu disappear towards the core area of the Flying Sword Sect, the elder soon shook his head before making his way back towards his own place to get some much-needed rest.

He would have to ask around with a few of his friends tomorrow and see if Elder Xuan was planning to take in yet another disciple… At least from what he could remember, it had at most been a few days since Elder Xuan had taken in a new disciple and now, yet another potential disciple had suddenly appeared!

Following her encounter with the elder and getting the correct location of Xuan Hao's pavilion, Fang Yu no longer felt nervous about accidently walking up the wrong Core Elder's Mountain and all of her worry instead ended up being focused on the fact that she was going to meet with Xuan Hao in a short moment! L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

No matter how much her grandmother had tried to calm her down beforehand, Fang Yu was still incredibly nervous about the prospect of meeting a Core Elder. Even if she had spent quite some time together with him back at the Formation Hall, she had only believed him to be a normal elder like her grandmother back then and did not have any difficulty communicating with him at all!

"The sun is rising!"

Slowing down the closer she got to Xuan Hao's Mountain peak, Fang Yu suddenly noticed the first few rays of light appearing at the mountains surrounding the Flying Sword Sect in the distance.

Seeing this caused her to throw away all of her nervousness as she used her cultivation base to run over to and quickly scale the mountain that Xuan Hao's pavilion was located on.

Not worrying about anything other than what might happen if she ended up arriving late.

What if he decided not to help her out because she showed up late?!

Fang Yu did not want something like that to happen, so she had put aside all of her worry and nervousness. Instead, just focusing on getting up the mountain as quickly as possible!

"I see that you made it on time!" The sun had barely risen, when Fang Yu reached the peak of the mountain. Only to be met with the calm smile of Xuan Hao who stood at the entrance to his pavilion. Almost like he had been standing there waiting from the beginning.

Chapter 319: Fire Burning Formation

"H-hello, Elder Xuan! Thank you for taking some time to help me today!"

"No problem at all, it's my pleasure to help, but what should I be calling you?"

Smiling assumingly at the nervous Fang Yu, Xuan Hao quickly asked for her name. Even if he had found out about it through the Sect Mission.

"It's Fang Yu!" Answering without a moment to waste, Fang Yu had calmed down a bit after hearing his question.

"Fang Yu… we will move over to the training ground located just beside my pavilion before going over the formation you have been struggling with for the past two years."

Muttering her name to himself as he nodded his head in an attempt to look like it was the first time, he heard it, Xuan Hao did not intend to waste too much time on the Sect Mission. Wanting to get started on it as soon as possible.

"Yes!"

Nodding her head obediently, both Xuan Hao and Fang Yu left the entrance of the pavilion and moved over towards the training ground.

The small journey towards the training ground was mostly spent with Fang Yu nervously walking behind Xuan Hao, as she kept looking around herself. Trying her best to observe the different things located on Xuan Hao's Mountain Peak… Not that there was much to begin with.

At most she managed to get a good view of the Flying Sword Sect that could be seen below them from time to time when the vision was not obscured by the clouds that decided to show up only a few hundred meters from the peak. Making the Flying Sword Sect below completely invisible to the naked eye.

"Hm?"

Arriving at the training ground, Xuan Hao could not help but let out a slightly surprised voice as the entire training ground was covered in a thick fog.

Observing closer, Xuan Hao discovered that the fog in essence was a cloud that was in the process of passing through the area of the training ground… This in turn should not be unusual, as the training ground itself was located a few hundred meters lower than the peak of the mountain where the pavilion was located.

This in turn was also the place where clouds normally formed. In reality, the training ground had been covered by a thick fog most of the time, it was just that Xuan Hao had yet to experience it for himself. In a sense, he felt a little unfortunate that the training ground had not been as foggy when he had visited it in the past.

The moisture in the air, along with the increase in water qi would surely make it easier to both cultivate and train water related techniques like his Rain Sword… Maybe he should take some time to visit the training ground after he finished up things with Fang Yu and practice his Rain Sword for a bit?

"Wow…"

Fang Yu was completely different from Xuan Hao who had just been a little surprised by the foggy training ground, as she let out an exclamation of surprise after witnessing the beautiful foggy environment… Or due to the increased density in water qi making it easier to cultivate. Especially for someone cultivating a water-based mantra...

Whoosh~

Scanning her body with his divine sense, Xuan Hao easily determined the fact that Fang Yu was indeed practicing a water-based cultivation mantra.

"I can allow you to cultivate here for a bit, but we first have to help you learn the formation that you have been struggling with!"

"Yes! I will do my best to learn from Elder Xuan!"

Upon hearing Xuan Hao mention that she would be allowed to stay in the training ground and cultivate afterwards, Fang Yu became even more motivated and excited to learn the formation she had been struggling with for the past two years.

"Did you perhaps bring the formation blueprint with you?"

"Yes!"

Eager to get started, Fang Yu took out a small piece of paper out from her robe and handed it over to Xuan Hao before retreating back a few meters, while eagerly looked over at Xuan Hao who began looking over the formation blueprint.

The formation blueprint was simple and easy to understand. Only requiring one to change the normal temperature formation by a tiny amount to create a small burning flame that would be sustained by the Formation Master's own qi.

Other than that, there was also a higher-level version of the formation that detailed how to make a permanent version of the formation that did not required the Formation Master's own qi, but instead passively took in qi from the surroundings to keep the fire burning.

"Now that I think about it, this should be how most of the lights in the city and sect are operated…" Muttering this quietly to himself as he put away the small blueprint, Xuan Hao began to construct the easiest among the two small fire burning formation on the blueprint.

Fwoosh!

With the sound of a flame igniting, the fire burning formation appeared in between Xuan Hao and Fang Yu, as Xuan Hao felt a small continuous drain on his qi from the fire burning formation.

The drain of qi was negligible to him, as he recovered his qi far faster than the small fire burning formation could drain it. Other than that, he would be able to easily cut off the small connection at any point in time. L1tLagoon witnessed the first publication of this chapter on Ñøvl--B1n.

"A-amazing!"

Fang Yu looking on from the side could not help but exclaim in surprise, as she watched how quickly Xuan Hao had learnt and set up the fire burning formation.

Even her grandmother would need at least an hour or two, to learn a brand-new formation at the beginner level!

Thinking about this, Fang Yu gazed over at Xuan Hao filled with respect. He might really be able to help her complete the entrance test and enter the Formation Hall!

"I think I understand how it works, Fang Yu, why don't you try and set up a fire burning formation?"

Nodding to himself as he watched the fire burning formation in front of him for a short moment, Xuan Hao waved his hand and cut of his connection to the formation before turning around to ask Fang Yu as the fire burning formation slowly began to collapse without the input of any new qi to keep it up and running.

"Y-yes!" Stuttering a bit due to suddenly being asked as she was absorbed watching the fire burning formation Xuan Hao had set up, Fang Yu hurriedly began to set up her own fire burning formation.

Woosh~

Slowly, the formation began to take shape in front of her without any problem.

Fwoosh!

A small fire began to burn brightly at the centre of the formations as Fang Yu finished setting up the fire burning formation. The entire process was smooth, elegant, and beautiful to watch. Even if it was far slowly than what Xuan Hao had done.

"Hm?"

Fwish~

Keeping an eye on the fire burning formation that Fang Yu had just set up, Xuan Hao suddenly felt the small fire burning in the middle of the formation behave weirdly as he felt a change in the flow of qi transferred to the fire burning formation by Fang Yu.

Fwoosh! Boom!

Forcefully cutting off Fang Yu's connection with the fire burning formation before retreating a few meters backwards, Xuan Hao watched the small fire inside the formation explode.

"Well, this is interesting…" Smiling a bit to himself as he looked at the place where the fire burning formation had been moments ago, Xuan Hao looked back at Fang Yu, who was just standing still and looking at the location of her fire burning formation with a depressed look on her face.

"Does this normally happen?" Raising one of his eyebrows as he noticed that Fang Yu was not really surprised over the fact that her formation had suddenly turned into a bomb of sort and exploded in front of her.

"Yes… Whenever I finish setting up the fire burning formation and begin adding my qi to it, it will either cause the small fire to fizzle out and die or explode violently like this…" Pausing for a short moment before answering his question, Fang Yu did not dare look directly at him while saying this.

"And you have no idea why this happens? Perhaps something with the mantra, you practice or your qi?"

"No… Grandmother already tried to see if it had something to do with my qi or the mantra I am practicing and found nothing wrong with it"

Listening to Fang Yu's answers, Xuan Hao put on a thoughtful look as he began remembering the process from earlier.

The fire burning formation had only explode after she had added in her own qi for a short amount of time, but she said it had nothing to do with her qi or her cultivation mantra…

What could it be that was affecting her if it was not her qi or her cultivation mantra…?

Chapter 320 - Source Of Fang Yu's Problem

Lost in thought, Xuan Hao motioned for Fang Yu to move closer as he began examining her body with his divine sense. Trying his best to see if he could find anything wrong with her cultivation that might have caused the formation to collapse and explode.

Sadly, this examination came up with nothing, she was normal in all possible senses of the word when it came to her cultivation. Even the foundational pillar inside of her dantian was a normal foundation pillar filled made out of water qi. Nothing out of the ordinary that might have disrupted her fire burning formation earlier…

"E-elder Xuan… Did you find anything wrong?" Sounding a bit nervous and hopeful, Fang Yu looked up at the thoughtful Xuan Hao.

"No… But I think I might find something by observing your dantian during the process, so I will have to ask you to set up the fire burning formation once again."

Answering her and moving on to what they would be doing next before she could get disappointed, Xuan Hao's divine sense fully focused on every small thing happening inside Fang Yu's dantian as she slowly nodded her head before setting up the fire burning formation once again.

Fwoosh~

Slower than last time, the small fire slowly appeared at the centre of the fire burning formation made by Fang Yu.

Fwish~

Just as the formation was about to explode once again and Fang Yu was beginning to retreat back a few steps in order to avoid the explosion, Xuan Hao managed to pick up a small abnormality appearing inside of her dantian!

Whoosh~

Acting at a speed way faster than Fang Yu could perceive with her current cultivation realm, Xuan Hao's qi forcefully entered her body before she even had any time to react to what was happening.

At this point in time, the small abnormality was about to disappear again, but Xuan Hao's qi suddenly appeared and forcefully restrained it before it managed to hide away inside of Fang Yu's body again.

"What is this…?"

Seeing what the small abnormality was, Xuan Hao could not help but feel a wave of confusion wash over him.

The abnormality in question was some kind of lifeform made up of some kind of energy closely resembling qi in the shape of a small worm wriggling fearfully under the restraint of Xuan Hao's qi.

"E-elder X-Xuan… W-what is happening?!"

Being called back to reality as he was absorbed inspecting the small worm like creature inside of Fang Yu's dantian, Xuan Hao was suddenly reminded about the fact that he had forcefully used his qi was currently inside of Fang Yu's dantian…

This was not something that someone only at the earlier stages of the Foundation Establishment Realm would be able to handle, as the sheer pressure of even a tiny fraction of a Domain Lord's qi could easily destroy the dantian of a Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator…

The only reason Fang Yu was still alive and well, was due to the fact that most of his qi inside her dantian was occupied with restraining the weird worm like creature, thus allowing her dantian to survive for a longer than normal period of time.

After all, forcefully entering the dantian with his qi was not the same as when he used his qi to guide Bai Ning onto the path of cultivation by helping him reach the Qi Condensation Realm. The latter being far gentler and more controlled compared to forcefully entering without any prior preparations or warnings to the other party.

Ssssh~

A weird sound could be heard coming from inside Fang Yu's body, as Xuan Hao pulled out the small snake like creature in one go. No matter what, Xuan Hao could not see any good thing behind leaving a weird hostile energy lifeform inside of Fang Yu's dantian…

"Hah… Hah… W-what is that…?" Breathing in and out due to exhaustion, Fang Yu looked fearfully at the small snake like creature held in Xuan Hao's hand around a few centimeters long.

"No idea, I found it inside you dantian, so I thought you might have an idea as to what it is…"

Saying this, Xuan Hao looked away from the small worm like creature. Only to be met with the completely bewildered and fearful face of Fang Yu, who had still not managed to comprehend the fact that the small snake like creature in Xuan Hao's hand had been inside of her dantian just a moment ago.

"Okay, you clearly have no idea what it is either… You should rest here for a bit; I will go out and ask around and see if anyone knows anything about this little one!"

Shaking his head upon realizing the obvious fact that Fang Yu had no idea what the snake creature inside her dantian was all about, Xuan Hao could only seal the small creature up with his qi before leaving the training ground and head towards someone who might know about the little snake.

Leaving behind Fang Yu to recover on his mountain. Not that he thought she would be that much against it given the fact that the environment of the training ground was currently highly beneficial to her cultivation…

"Now… Where is Elder Song…?"

Muttering this to himself as he floated up into the air and covered the Flying Sword Sect with his divine sense, Xuan Hao soon smiled to himself before flying over towards a certain location inside the Flying Sword Sect. The small snake like creature he had forcefully ripped out from Fang Yu's dantian in hand.

"Elder Xuan… To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"

Standing inside of the Flying Sword Sect's administrative buildings, Elder Song had just been going over a new batch of spiritual herbs that had come in recently. Having the help of an elder from the Alchemy Hall, who helped check if the spiritual herbs quality was fine, when Xuan Hao had suddenly appeared and asked him if he had time to talk about something.

"I wanted to ask if you know anything about this!"

Having already entered a small private room in the building, Xuan Hao did not bother hiding anything as he showed the small snake like creature in his hand to Elder Song.

"This is! W-where did you find a Qi Sapping Worm!?"

"I found it inside the dantian of an inner disciple… What is a Qi Sapping Worm…?"

Seeing the shocked expression on Elder Song's face, Xuan Hao did not have any idea what the so-called Qi sapping worm was, but he could at least tell that it was something important or dangerous given Elder Song's current expression.

"Hm… Inside the dantian of an inner disciple you say? That does not make sense… A Qi Sapping Worm is extremely rare even in the Sky Empire! Who would waste something so precious to harm an inner disciple of our sect!? Unless she was unlucky enough to stumble upon a wild one that had yet to grow up and accidently ended up getting infected by it… Unravel the Unknown, Unleash the Unimaginable: NvεlB¡n.

By the way, how did you find it? A Qi Sapping Worm should be close to impossible to discover. Even someone above the Domain Lord Realm would have a hard time finding it according to some rumours I heard… This is also one of the reasons that it's considered to be so precious…" Completely ignoring his question, Elder Song went on talking to himself as his expression constantly shifted all over the place as he came up with different reasons to explain the appearance of the Qi Sapping Worm.

"I found it when I was looking for a reason as to why the disciple in question failed in keeping a fire burning formation running. Now will you explain what a Qi Sapping Worm is?"

Not wanting to be ignored again, Xuan Hao answered quickly as he asked a bit more forcefully, he really wanted to find out what the Qi Sapping Worm was.

After all, Elder Song had just mentioned it being rare for a power like the Sky Empire and someone above the Domain Lord Realm possibly not being able to find it after it infected someone!

"A formation? I see, it might affect something as delicate, complicated and precise like a formation. Revealing itself for a short moment…" Nodding his head, satisfied with the explanation, Elder Song was just about to ask a new question when he was met with a pair of clearly impatient eyes at him not having even explained what a Qi Sapping worm is yet…

"Hehe, excuse me… I was just a bit curious; A Qi Sapping Worm is a rare and exotic worm that is widely known for being capable of discreetly sapping away the qi of a cultivator to enhance itself before reaching an adult stage where it will fully consume the host. The worm will then evolve into its next stage of life where it becomes a demonic beast. Taking on the same cultivation realm as the host it grew up inside of.

It is mostly considered to be so precious due to its ability of being used to secretly assassinate high level experts. There are even a few rumours that someone ones managed to infect a Soul Ascension Realm Expert with a Qi Sapping Worm without the other party knowing about it. In the end, a Soul Ascension Realm Expert died, and a Soul Ascension Realm demon beast was born…"

Finishing his explanation, Elder Song looked fearfully at the Qi Sapping Worm in Xuan Hao's hand.

"…"

Xuan Hao did not say anything and just looked down at the seemingly harmless worm in his hand. Not knowing what to say after learning how deadly the small worm was.
