Time for Payback.
This is a Fairy Tail story where Natsu and Gray comes up with a rather shocking plan to get revenge on Erza for disrupting their usual fight. Will this plan work as they hoped after coming up with it or will they get a punishment beyond their belief if it fails? The story takes place after the Grand Magic Games.

Chapter One: The Idea.

It was a peaceful beautiful day at Magnolia, hometown to the famous Fairy Tail guild, the recently returned number one and strongest guild in the world. It had once been the weakest guild, due to losing powerful Mages during the S-Class Promotion Trials, but after regaining the Mages seven years later and winning the Grand Magic Games – an incredible, yet fierce, event where all guilds around Fiore, except dark ones, come together to fight each other one by one – it became the strongest again, number one as well.
The citizens of Magnolia were going on with their daily normal lives, which is either shopping, making business trades, gossiping with the other residents or traveling Mages, walking around the town to get rid of boredom or do exercise, fishing at the rivers, hunting for animals in the forest, doing normal jobs or enjoying the warm weather in the park.
It was truly a peaceful beautiful day in Magnolia, and nothing could ruin it.
"NATSU! GRAY! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU BOTH?! NO FIGHTING IN THE GUILDHALL!"
Scratch that, the peaceful day can be ruined by two certain Fairy Tail Mages – a Fire Dragon Slayer and an Ice-Maker – who just couldn't grow up from being childish and act like mature adults. Then again, most Fairy Tail Mages can't act like mature adults, due to their usual rowdiness, destructiveness and loud brawls that can get a bit out of hand, but it does make Fairy Tail a loveable guild where unbreakable bonds and friendships can be made.
But back to the Fire and Ice Mages who ruined the peaceful day. They were currently in the Fairy Tail guildhall cowering fearfully under the scrutiny angry glare of Erza Scarlet, the Queen of Fairies. The other guild members were wisely staying out of the way because they didn't want to piss her off even more, which isn't difficult to explain since her favorite strawberry cheesecake got sent flying and splattered on the wall during the brawl between the two Mages who are still cowering fearfully under the glare.
If the strawberry cheesecake getting splattered on the wall wasn't enough, then the intimidating red aura Erza is currently releasing around her body proves not only how pissed off she was but how she looked ready to summon a sword or mace and lash out.
Either way, the Fire Dragon Slayer and the Ice-Maker are deeply screwed.
"Sorry, Erza! We didn't mean to fight each other!" Natsu Dragneel and Gray Fullbuster exclaimed in unison as they prayed to the heavens they don't get punished heavily. "We also didn't mean to have your strawberry cheesecake get splattered!"
"I DON'T CARE!" Erza screamed, getting both Natsu and Gray to flinch heavily upon hearing how loud the scream is, along with the other guild members. "I HAD IT WITH YOU BOTH FIGHTING EACH OTHER EVER SINCE YOU TWO MET AS KIDS! AND IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH, YOU TWO RUINED MY PEACEFUL DAY AND GOT MY CAKE DESTROYED BY YOUR STUPID WORTHLESS BRAWLS!"
"We can both buy you a new one!"
"NO! IT'S WAY TOO LATE FOR THAT! I'M ALREADY PISSED HOW MY DAY GOT RUINED BY YOU TWO MORONS! THIS IS THE LAST STRAW! NATSU AND GRAY, UNTIL YOU BOTH CAN SET YOUR DIFFERENCES ASIDE AND SORT YOUR PRIORITIES, YOU WILL NOT STEP BACK INTO THE GUILDHALL! FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT A PUNISHMENT BEYOUND YOUR BELIEF! IF YOU BOTH JUST FIGHT OUTSIDE INSTEAD OF LISTENING TO MY ADVICE, THEN I WILL USE MY NAKAGAMI ARMOR ON YOUR PUNISHMENT!"
Without wasting time, a still pissed off Erza marched over towards the two shock Fairy Tail Mages whose both minds hadn't register the words she said, grabbed them by the scruff of their necks tightly, resulting loud winces to escape their mouths, and began dragging them where the guild doors are. They didn't struggle even once since it would only make the situation worse, something they didn't want to happen.
Upon arriving at the entrance to the guild, Erza kicked the doors wide open with her foot, threw the Fire and Ice Mages outside a bit distance away from the guild where they landed a bit forcefully and painfully on the ground before she closed the doors with a mighty bang that echoed sightly, startling a few Magnolia citizens.
It took a few moments for Natsu and Gray to recover from Erza's throw, both pale as white ghosts as they finally register the words she said, making a cold chill to run down their spines. They do not want to receive the end of the Nakagami Armor since it's the most powerful armor in existence, second to the Purgatory Armor. Their lives may never be the same again if they receive the end of the Nakagami Armor.
"Man, we seriously made Erza very pissed off at us, Gray," Natsu stated quietly, staring at the guild doors. He had surprisingly not called Gray one of the insulting nicknames like Ice Princess, but it's because he didn't want to start another fight when there could be a chance Erza's listening from the other side of the doors.
"Yeah," Gray agreed quietly, also staring at the guild doors. He didn't notice his rival called him by his real name instead of a usual insult. "We have seen her mad a few times, but to be this pissed off is extremely scary. I thought we were going to die."
"Let's go somewhere else until she calms down. I don't want to near the guild when there's a chance she could be listening to us from the other side of the doors."
True to Natsu's word, even though he will never know it, Erza had indeed been listening to him and Gray on the other side of the guild doors, ready to scare them with her glare the moment she hears the sound of fighting. She had managed to calm down somewhat after taking a deep breath when she threw two Mages outside and closed the doors, but she still looked ready to lash out in extreme anger since they did ruin her day and got her strawberry cheesecake destroyed.
Luckily, Mirajane Strauss quickly brought out another strawberry cheesecake from the kitchen and the beautiful scarlet-hair young woman happily dug into it, her extreme anger quickly vanishing like it was never there before. This action made the guild members sweat drop, but they wisely stayed silent since they didn't want to make her angry again. They began to wonder where Natsu and Gray are and what they are doing at the moment.
'Probably fighting for some stupid reason they came up with,' The guild members thought with exasperated sighs before going back to whatever they were doing.
As it turns out, Natsu and Gray are actually not fighting at all from a stupid reason they came up with. They were currently sitting on the edge of the river bank where they used to spar as kids staring at the river in silence, each lost in their own thoughts. As they continued to stare at the river, Gray suddenly broke the silence between him and Natsu.
"So, what are we going to do, Natsu?" Gray asked, turning towards his rival.
"Huh?" Natsu asked, turning towards his rival with a confused expression. "What did you say, Gray?"
"I said what are we going to do? We can't go back inside the guild until we sort our priorities and set our differences aside, which you know full well it will never happen since you and I have our own pride as different element Mages."
"Well, we have no choice but to do what Erza says and I'm not feeling particular getting beat up by that insane armor of hers. If we don't make up to each other, then she's just going to get more angrier than before and that's something I don't want."
There was a unspoken agreement between the two Fairy Tail Mages. A annoyed Erza is a scary Erza and an extremely pissed off Erza is a very scary Erza.
"You are right about not wanting to get beat up by that armor and making Erza angrier than before, Natsu, but I don't like how she always threaten us and interrupt our fights. She always gets her way back then when we were kids and even now, she still gets her way. It's bullshit and I hate it."
"What do you suggest we do then, Ice Princess?" Natsu asked with annoyance in his voice, getting back to call his rival insulting names. He also went to stare back at the river. "It's not like we can just get back at Erza for all the times she interrupted our fights and threatened us."
Any scathing retort Gray had on the tip of his tongue upon hearing the usual nickname he hated died after hearing what Natsu said about getting back at Erza for all the times she interrupted the fights and threatened them. It was probably one of the most…greatest ideas ever in the world! How could Natsu make up such a great idea if he was a dense idiot all the time?!
Either way, Gray had come up with a great idea, one that made a large devious smile appear on his face. Getting back at Erza will be the ultimate revenge and it should teach her a lesson about not interrupting fights between two Mages who are brothers but didn't want to admit it. It will also teach her not to threaten people.
"Say, Natsu," Gray said, still retaining the large devious smile on his face as Natsu turned his attention from the river towards him again. "How would you like to get back at Erza for all the times she interrupted our fights and threatened us?"
"Eh?" That was Natsu's rather intelligent response after registering the words in his brain. Either his ears were playing tricks on him, or his rival just ask him if he wanted to get back at Erza for all the times she interrupted the fights and threatened them.
And done! That's the ending of the first chapter of this story! There was a bit of a struggle at the end since I wasn't sure how to write Natsu's response after he heard Gray's plan, but I managed to prevail in the end.
Next chapter will be about Natsu and Gray coming up with ideas on how to get back at Erza. I'm not sure if the chapter is going to be long since I have an idea where I want the plot of the story to head towards, but I'll see what I can do.
