The layers of shields created by the Spriggan 12 blocked Ben's attack, but not completely. Ben still had control of his attack and he moved it across the shields instead of forcefully breaking them. The black-red-gold solar energy ran on the shields and reached the back.
Of course, the Spriggan 12 noticed this and they tried to extend their shields to the back. But they can't do it fast enough and they were too late anyway. Ben's tri-color solar energy attack reached his enemies from behind and he struck the soldiers in the back with it.
They try to block Ben's attack, but none of these mage soldiers were strong enough to block it. Fortunately for them, Ben didn't use all of his power on them. He only used a quarter of his power while he used the remaining 3 quarters to break the shields and keep the Spriggan 12 occupied.
Also, he needed to make sure that the clash continued for his plan. This clash caused a strong turbulence in the atmosphere and changed the quality of magic across the battlefield. The ethernano in this area will flare up and powerful beings with magic will notice it.
"I know you still want the Lumen Historie, Zeref. But like I told you before, the battleground is the Alvarez Empire, not Ishgar. So let's invite all involved parties here. No one will mess my home up."
Ben made a motion as if he was rotating something using his open hand. The thing he rotated was his black-red-gold solar energy attack. It rotates at a very high speed like a circular saw or spinning grinder and it grinds the shields, chipping them at a fast rate while creating turbulence.
But then a spinning black energy shield that moved in the opposite direction appeared over the shields that almost broke. Ben grinned when he saw that because he can feel the energy of death in that black shield. It's a stark contrast to his solar energy that was full of life.
"You finally decided to appear now?" Ben asked as the black energy shield and his solar energy attack break each other.
"I can't remain silent after knowing what you're planning." Zeref replied.
"Eh? Plan? I have no idea what you're talking about." Ben said in a mocking tone.
"His Majesty, what do you mean?" August asked.
"He's trying to call Acnologia here. That big clash will certainly attract Acnologia's attention." Zeref explained, surprising the Spriggan 12.
"Already using a large scale attack at the beginning of this war wasn't his style. He did that to force you to create a large defense. The clash between your magic would certainly cause a large impact that can be felt from far away. A being that likes chaos like Acnologia will certainly be attracted by that." Zeref said in a serious tone.
Ben had fought Acnologia twice, so he now knew why that thing appeared. A large scale war will attract him and he knows if it's a real war or not because he never showed up when it was just sparring even though the clash was strong. It's like he can sense the chaos of war, the hatred and the fear in it.
What Ben did 4 days ago was a setup for today's war. He spread chaos and fear while making people eat him. All just to increase the scale of this war from the 1st day. The Alvarez Empire took it seriously and sent all their forces, which was just what Ben wanted because it meant there would be large clashes that would attract Acnologia.
"That should be enough to attract his attention, now let's call him here." Ben said while coating his feet in solar energy.
Ben suddenly propelled himself forward like a rocket towards the enemies with solar energy covering his feet. He passed by Zeref and the Spriggan 12 who can't respond to his speed. Then he landed in the middle of Alvarez soldiers who look a lot stronger than Ishgar soldiers.
"Humans, Machias and even Etherious, huh? This will be fun." Ben said as he slammed into some soldiers upon landing.
Alvarez's soldiers are composed of humans, Etherious and a mechanical race that possessed magic power called Machias. The variety extended to the Spriggan 12 because Larcade and Bloodman were Etherious, while Wall was a Machias.
Ben was excited to fight these soldiers with strong magical abilities. They are also equipped with strong weapons like lacrima tipped spears, powerful magical staffs, high-quality blades, high-quality armor, etc. There's no nation on Ishgar that has such power and can equip it's troops like this.
"Then let's increase my power first." Ben said with a grin before he dashed towards the Etherious.
Ben covered his hands and feet in solar energy produced by his Sun Devil Slayer Magic. Then he started attacking the Etherious with his fists, palms, elbows, feet, knees, etc. He started his usual close combat game to warm up and have fun in a serious situation like a war.
The number of Etherious was very high, so Ben was excited. Even if they are small fries, they'll still give him some power after he slayed them. Every bit of power will help him fight all these enemies and Acnologia.
Ben slayed an Etherious with every attack and received some power every time a Etherious died. He is increasing his power instead of spending it to fight. It made him feel like a phone that is used to play a game while being charged.
A lot of Etherious demons were slain a few seconds after Ben started attacking them. He is extremely fast, and they can't react to his speed at all. To them, it looked like Ben was just moving around, but everyone he passed just died.
But the Spriggan 12 were different because some of them can see him at that speed. They can't chase him, but they can follow his movements with their eyes. Then someone finally made a move and tried to attack Ben.
Ben sensed this and grinned before he purposefully stopped his attack. He moved his left hand to the back and caught a fist aimed at him. The fist came from Bloodman who decided to attack him first.
"Heh, are you trying to save your Etherious friends? How cute." Ben said with a smirk.
"Hah, as if. I just think that it's the best time to attack her." Bloodman sneered.
"Well, if you think so. But you sure are smelly. When's the last time you cleaned yourself?" Ben genuinely asked.
Ben is a Devil/Dragon/God Slayer, so his nose was very sensitive to smells. He genuinely asked Bloodman because this guy really stinks. Ben even needed to make a fire mask that filtered the air because of how smelly Bloodman is.
But then Ben realized that Bloodman was releasing poisonous magical barrier particles from his body. Even so, this stinky smell won't just come from these particles. Ben was sure that Bloodman really hadn't cleaned himself for days, weeks, months or even years.
"Ugh, damn dude, you must be full of germs." Ben said while releasing Bloodman's fist which now looked disgusting.
Ben covered his hand with very hot fire to sterilize the germs. He never felt this crazy about cleanliness in both lives.
"Now I'm really glad you didn't come to Ishgar because you will be the source of the pandemic there." Ben said while wiping his hand with a wet tissue before throwing it away.
Bloodman's blood boiled and he was angered by Ben's insult. Indeed, he hadn't washed him in a long time, but he was sure he didn't smell and he's clean. He normally won't be angered by such a insult in the past, but Ben's way of talking is just too irritating.
"I'll fucking kill you, dammit! Second Seal!" Bloodman angrily shouted.
The soldiers that had gotten away move back even further. They don't want to get caught up in Bloodman's attack because they know how dangerous it is. Meanwhile, Ben continued frowning because the smell was getting worse.
"So it's his Curse that smells really bad, huh? But I'm sure his body is also smelly." Ben said, still persistent about Bloodman's smelly body.
Suddenly, numerous skulls covered in dark particles appear around Bloodman and Ben. Ben can feel the skulls try to pull his soul out even before attacking him. Then they start moving to attack him from all sides.
Ben covered his hands and feet with Sun Devil Slayer Magic again. He attacked the skulls and broke them using his magic because he didn't want to touch those smelly skulls. Bloodman expected this, but he was surprised that Ben's soul wasn't affected at all by the skulls.
"Damn, these smelly skulls are annoying. I need to breathe fresh air." Ben angrily said before he covered his right foot in Sun Devil Slayer Magic and stomped on the ground really hard.
A massive amount of dark red solar energy came out of Ben's stomp. It spread everywhere like a tsunami of dark red fire. The skulls were caught by it and it even reached the Etherious nearby.
Bloodman moved back rather far to avoid the wave of dark red solar energy that instantly broke his skulls. He clicked his tongue and intended to activate his Third Seal, but then August grabbed a hold of his shoulder and told him to stop for now.
"What do you want, August?" A pissed off Bloodman asked.
"You can't do it alone, we need to attack him together, that's the only way. I'm sure you know that he was just playing around with you." August pointed out.
Bloodman was pissed, but he knew that August was right. So he agreed to attack Ben together with all of the Spriggan 12. Ben grinned before he looked out towards the horizon. His grin widened while Zeref had a displeased expression on his face.
