Chapter 2
I woke up in a limbo of darkness
I was confused and terrified. Did that creature tricked me and ate me?
All doubts about the deception were erased when Eve introduced herself.
Eve was a disembodied voice in my head and introduced herself as my "system" (whatever it is).
I was just surprised at having a girl in my head albeit emotionless with the way she is speaking.
Eve then made me choose a master unit.
I was confused and was about to ask her what a Master Unit was, but a blinding light lit up the darkness.
Emerging from the light are multiple armours, each one being unique in design. Some had knightly figures while others had exotic inhuman features.
Eve then gave me a rundown of what they were.
These are Mobile Suits, armors that are used as weapons in war. Each one has a unique arsenal based on its design.
I am only able to look in awe at these powerful weapons.
And I'll have the chance to pick one.
Deciding which one to have is hard.
However, in the end, I settled on the Unicorn Gundam.
Unicorn Gundam is a land and space-capable Mobile Suit. It has thick, powerful armor that can take hits and some weapons.
A bazooka (I don't know what it does)
Two beam sabers (I have swords now)
A Beam Magnum Rifle (Don't know what it does)
And a head Vulcan (why is it there?)
I also had a white shield.
Then Eve gave another surprise.
Rayshifting...
Coordinates...
One Year War
UC Era
Everything went black again.
I woke up again to the loud cracking sounds.
I stood up and surveyed my surroundings. I'm inside of what looks like a storage room. Then, I noticed myself.
I was inside the Unicorn Gundam's armor, and my limbs were healed.
A huge explosion from outside stopped me from inspecting myself. It was then that Eve made herself known.
Mission:
Destroy all enemy Zaku's
And now, she's giving me an order. Typical women.
Finding the exit, I went outside to confront the Zaku.
I was met with a huge fight between 4 green-armored figures and 1 white-armor.
The White Armor is struggling against the 4 as it was peppered by the 4 green armors using their weapons that flashes each time they point it at the white one.
The white one is running and using the building as cover, which would be destroyed immediately.
I decided to help.
I pulled out one of my beam sabers and charged at them, holding up my shield.
My thundering footsteps immediately alerted them and they pointed their weapons at me.
Brrrrrrrrt
My charged faltered as my shield ate an entire rain of attacks in it's front. I was fortunate that the shield held on unlike the buildings that got destroyed immediately by their weapons.
However, I'm still in danger.
One of them charged from the group, an axe in it's hands igniting in bright green light. I can't move, if I move then I will be killed by their weapons.
I am stuck.
As the enemy approached, I couldn't help but feel how much of a failure I was. I had intended to help, but now I'll probably die a foolish death.
The green enemy finally entered my range, raising its axe to cut off my head. I closed my eyes to accept my fate.
Until the white one came crashing to the enemy.
Both armors fell down in a tangle of limbs before the White one managed to climb on top of the green armor and plunge its Beam Saber into its chest. It lay still after that.
"SHIELD!!!"
The White one screamed as the others pointed their weapons to him, angered at the death of their comrade.
I immediately moved and kept my shield up in front, covering the both of us.
"We need to move before they reload their bazookas."
The white one said to me before running towards the nearest structure for cover. I followed close behind him, covering our retreat.
Entering the warehouse, he greeted me as he inspected his sword.
"I only have a beam saber on me. What do you have?" he asked me in an expectant tone.
"I have a bazooka and a rifle with me." I answered him.
"I'll take the bazooka. Were gonna pincer them and kill the stragglers, got it?"
"Got it."
" Good. Now, gimme. " he held out his hand.
I manifested a bazooka out of nowhere, which I don't know how, and gave it to him. He accepted and nodded at me to go into position. I obeyed.
Following him is the only key to my survival.
He then held up three fingers with his hand, and started the countdown.
1...
2...
3...
We violently crashed out of the warehouse, ready for another round.
Unfortunately, I was hit by a bazooka round in the face.
I woke up again, this time stripped and cuffed to a table.
Then, I met Captain Bright.
He then started interrogating me, telling me who I was. I answered truthfully.
Who am I? I'm Mika.
Where do you come from? I don't know. I'm illiterate after all.
Where did I find my Mobile Suit? I don't know. I blacked out and found myself in it in the middle of a battlefield.
He continued to ask me a lot of questions. Some of it I recognize as questions for enemy spies. Unfortunately, I'm not a spy but he didn't know that.
Luckily, the user of the white one vouches for me that I'm not a spy.
His name is Amuro Ray, a boy of about the same age as me.
Reluctantly, Captain Bright let me go but he conscripted me to his ship.
Turns out I'm on his ship. The White Base.
Currently, we are escaping from the enemy, Zeon forces, after their attack. The attack had killed and injured a lot of the crew of the ship, even the previous captain wasn't spared. This forced the new Captain Bright to conscript civilian refugees of the attack.
Amuro and his friends are just one of them.
Then another problem rose.
Enemy Zeon ship is waiting for us outside.
I followed Amuro as we suit up. I found the Unicorn in the hanger, an open space for mobile suits and vehicles. It was waiting with a bunch of people fixing and studying it.
The attack that knocked me out had damaged its plating, but luckily, nothing was critically damaged.
Then came to suit up. I don't know how.
Thankfully, Amuro showed me how. His own armor, the Gundam, can transform into its passive form (which is a necklace) and transform back to its full form on its user.
I tried it on the unicorn, and it transformed into a necklace. Wearing it, I let it transform on me, covering me in its armor.
A second problem arose when we began to fly.
I don't know how to fly in space.
Due to Captain Bright, I was positioned at one of the main guns of the ship with my rifle to snipe enemy mobile suits.
I felt so useless.
I also asked Amuro how to used my rifle which he gave me a simple rundown how and borrowed my bazooka again which I happily obliged.
Just point, Aim and pull the trigger.
The moment our ship emerged from the colony, I was mesmerized and terrified by the vast expanse of space.
It was like a sea of stars. It was beautiful but scary.
"Enemy ship at the front! Prepare for combat!"
Fraw's voice in my helmet made me pause before focusing in the battle.
Amuro and Mr. Ryu had already engaged the enemy.
What's worrying is one of the enemy, a red one, is giving Amuro a hard time.
That's when the enemy ship started firing towards the White base.
" Mika! provide covering fire!!!" Cpt. Bright screamed.
" Roger!"
That's when I truly know the power of this armor.
Pulling the trigger, I was surprised of my beam rifle not firing. Instead, it gathered energy at it's tip before releasing it's full power into a huge beam of red light.
It traveled across the space to the Zeon enemy ship.
It missed. It only grazed the target.
But I didn't have to hit.
Exposed by its power, the ship's outer and inner systems sparked and exploded, causing the ship to explode in a huge chain of explosions.
My jaw dropped at the sight.
A missed shot did that!?
"Mika, you're not allowed to use that rifle unless permitted. Do you copy!"
"Copy."
I don't think I can trust myself in firing this rifle again.
